In my opinion this gym has all the equipment I need: treadmills, a variety of weights and lockers/showers. What can I say, I like simplicity. I go o this gym before work, I get in and get out under an hour, during my workout there is plenty of room available, every disinfects their equipment ( for the most part), masks are enforced, and there is temperature check when you sing in. Sure there are few machines that are out of service but they seem to get fix right away.
The whole business tries to trick you into paying more money.They allow unlimited guests for each member, but make each guest go through an extensive sign in process so they can send you marketing emails and texts like 5 times a day.During the sign up process workers spent more than 10 mins to try and get me to buy pre-workout and protein, along with their personal trainer programs, saying at the end that I can talk to them when I want to get serious. It made me laugh.Im about to cancel my membership after only one month because of a completely random $50 maintenance fee that was charged to my card. I was not aware of this fee when I signed up and after trying to get in contact with the gym over the phone I was left on hold for more than half an hour before being hung up on.Nobody in the gym wears a mask anymore but the water fountains still conveniently dont work so you can purchase their $2.50 Dasani
I signed up online and went to workout that same day. Upon entering I asked Brady at the front desk if they were state to state and he told me they werent, so I asked to cancel that same morning. I got a copy of my cancellation form after brady scribbled his signature on it. However, Ive been charged even though I cancelled the SAME morning I joined. I called this location today and Brady answered and was extremely rude and unprofessional when answering my questions as to why I was charged. He then abruptly put me on hold, cutting me off when I asked to speak to the manager. Eventually Justin the manager comes to the phone and was a bit more helpful. Ive sent him a copy of my cancellation form and now I will be awaiting a response. This place treats minorities horribly, which is ironic since this corporation hires minorities. I think the employees need sensitivity training before interacting with the public. Would not recommend unless you are a white male.
The staff is very friendly and professional across the board. The physical trainers are nice and know what they are talking about and will help you get to your goals. If you need a trainer I would suggest going with Gian he is very knowledgeable and helpful. He actually cares about the people he is training and will help you achieve your goals whatever they may be, he knows how!!Overall very satisfied with the experience here!
One of the New employees honestly went above and beyond with his customer service. His Name Is David and he reached out to me about my lost ID. I lost that ID about almost A Year ago and never heard from anyone about it. On his first week there, he actually went out of his way to reach out to me about it. David’s actions show that he is a person i can trust and hold accountable for whatever I need. I feel like we needed someone like him around in the gym and I can assure that he is the person to go to if you have any questions or need help with anything, It seems like David just likes to help without asking or hoping for something in return. I would definitely go back and recommend this Location to anyone knowing a person like David is around.
Great place, been going here since it was a Powerhouse gym. But the treadmills are out of order far too frequently. And not sporadically, the same exact ones that have been broken for the last 2 months are still broken. Otherwise its clean and has decent equipment, although it gets extremely crowded between 3pm-6pm, to the point that 80%+ of the equipment is being used. For the amount of memberships they sell, Id like to see better maintained equipment and some upgrades.
For value, this place is amazing! But have two big problems I cant get over. Every single bar is bent!! Except one bar. They roll off your hands all the time. They need new bars. Its honestly dangerous. Also guys urinals wreak of piss. And one of them doesnt flush. Those are my two biggest pet peeves. Overall good gym with lots of free weights and machines. Could definitely use more stairmaster.
Ive been going here ever since I moved to this state 5 years ago and still till this day it is one of my favorite gyms to workout at. The gym is nothing special, as a matter a fact the turf field in the middle was a terrible idea by corporate, but everything you need to get a great workout is here! The staff is extremely friendly with the exception of a couple of bad apples here and there but it really has a home feel to the place.Highly recommended if youre looking for a gym to put you headphones on, shut off the would, and get your workout on. Roberto will take care of ANY issues that you might have and Nicci the matter trainer on staff will answer ANY questions that you might have. Not to mention the front desk staff is probably the best in the company with how friendly and relaxed they are.
Xsport has been my gym for years now. Since 2013. Love it actually. Been to Xsports all across Chicagoland. Norridge, Chicago Ridge, Brickyard, Skokie, Addison, Lombard, Downers Grove... Lombard is a great location. Unfortunately it is ruined by harrassment by a trainer named Eli. Never bothers any members but me. I cant tell if its discrimination but it definitely feels like it. Hes been harassing me since he has came to this location. If his ego is to big than he is definitely not a fit for this location or gym. Eli definitely walks around as if he is more of a cop than a trainer. Never seen it like that. With all the years and location Ive been its sad to say he definitely ruins the positive energy at this location. Xsport definitely needs to check the cameras on this guy.
The gym is fine. Never took a class so I cant comment.Its a little crowded during peak times (but arent they all). Biggest complain I had was for whatever reason, they dont seem to have enough clips for the bars. It was never an issue though, just a mild annoyance.Still, they have a good selection of equipment. The free weight section is pretty nice. You wont feel out of place deadlifting or powercleaning here.Staff is friendly too. Had a small problem trying to cancel (was told I could cancel any time, but when I tried to cancel, they tell me only M-F and I have to fill out paperwork that they refused to give me on a Saturday). Still, I went back on a Monday and it was done in 15 minutes.Also the owner was super nice and offered to let me do it by e-mail, so +1 for that. I didnt see it until after Id gone back in, but thats not something you see all the time.When you consider how low the price is, the gym is a great value.
Dirty, people dont wipe machines after use ever and when they try to sanitizer bottles are empty or broken. Bathrooms always messy and either low or empty on toilet p. And hand soap. Lastly front desk help is rude. Trainers are fun and nice though. Definitely get your moneys worth on workouts.
I moved here from another gym because I wanted 24/7 access. That was the only improvement. This place is filthy, the plumbing is broken, the urinals dont flush, many machines dont work, the machines are not exactly self explanatory, and getting assistance is dubious. Lovely though that they are so deeply invested in other ways to take your money, like the smoothie bar, spray tan, or massage.
Decent Club you can get access to at a low price. I like the express Club in Lombard because it is small.People are there to get their work out on there is not a lot of drama. This facility has tanning as well. It could be a little bit more clean, and it has some opportunities but in general I think this is a good club. Matt my personal trainer is amazing
Instead of getting new treadmills that work, they decided to get new carpet. Makes sense.....nearly half if not more treadmills are covered in signs that read out of order...... who thought that was a good idea? Hey you know what people need at the gym? new carpet instead of new equipment....Seriously... get new equipment, they also constantly hound you to buy something. I come to workout, not to be bothered by sales guys/managers so they can make their commission. I DO NOT recommend anyone signing up here. Male locker room smells so bad its honestly not even worth going in there FOR ANY PURPOSE. It literally smells like urine as soon as you walk in. If I ever walk in there, I hold my breath til I walk out. Old equipment. broken treadmills. filthy foul stench locker room. Staff is ok. If youre looking for a gym in lombard this is NOT it. Go to any other gym except this. At least they have new equipment at different gyms and put money back into it properly and the bathrooms are nice and clean.
I signed up about 5 months ago now and the place was ok in the beginning. At first, the general manager, Nick, was great and things seemed in line and somewhat organized. All though half the cardio machines would be broken, people standing around, and the locker rooms were a little dirty, the place was good with customers. Over the past 2 months, the gym has gone down hill. The staff seem disorganized, dirty work out areas, half of the equipment is broke/out of order, sometimes at night there isnt anybody at the front desk and the person working is at a work desk on their phone, the list goes on. I still use this location for little things, but I have since signed up at a new gym. In the mean time I dont recommend anyone signing up and have the mind set of actually training to be a better or stronger person at this gym. The over all atmosphere has dramatically changed and I wont even bring people here anymore. They kind of treat you like a cash machine to fill their pockets and dont even give you Vaseline.
Not too many people but almost no one is wearing mask. Sign says mask required but nobody enforcing it. Good way to get ppl sick and gym shut down again. Also, water fountain shut off. How do you not have water but let ppl workout without masks or cleaning equipment? Seems like a sacm to buy water there.
I like the staff, they are friendly. However, this location is dirty and the equipment is in rough shape, but it is all workable. However, I need a locker room I can take a shower in and feel comfortable. These lockers are filthy, the carpet in the locker room is in bad shape, and it just doesnt fulfill my purpose.
Very poorly managed. I only go here out of convenience and the price I am locked in at. Almost every hand sanitizing station is always empty and the locker room soap dispensers are empty all the time as well. It takes me multiple tries to find a cardio machine that actually works and has tv that works. Even during slow hours this place cannot stay clean and operational. I would find a different gym if you have another option close by.
Treadmills have been a major issue. I signed up here 3 years ago, the owner danny just refuses to replace them with better/new treadmills. they are constantly down, out of order, not working, buttons are stuck so they dont start, good luck trying to find one that works.... bathrooms are gross (male) theres always water all over the sinks, never any paper towels smells bad too.. hand sanitzers are always out..I spoke with staff and they have said that this is nothing new. all these issues are always temporarily fixed and by the end of the month theyre back to being broken and disgusting again. Please consider talking to the owner and or i hope he sees this and tells you knuckleheads over there to get new treadmills. its a damn shame, then they wonder why people sign up at different gyms, well because they have nicer equipment that ACTUALLY WORKS.
This location is absolute trash! It always smells right when you walk in the door. Then when you hit the poorly maintained locker room it smells like feces and feet. Once you finally make it to main gym floor you are regreeted by this disgusting musty smell and poorly maintained machines. They always have signs that say out of order on the equipment. Most of the treadmills dont work correctly and have half working TVs on them. A lot of this equipment was put in over 10 years ago. Its time for a refresh! Once you get used to the musty smell you cant help but wonder the quality of the air being pumped into the building by the disgusting looking vents. Just look up and you will see about two inches of dust on the entire ventilation system. I get its only $9.99/month but they get soooo many members that they can afford to fix things and keep it clean. The people that work there just seem like they are hanging out with friends, not actually working, which is probably why this place is in such disarray.
This xsport is always over crowded and dirty. All the equipment has sweat stains or dust on it. The bathroom always smells horrendous and the staff has not been particularly nice at any point. My 2 year membership recently expired and I didnt know. I walked in around 8pm and the staff member told me it had just expired and I could not work out unless I paid right then and there. I am a student and dont make a habit of carrying money on me to the gym. After a 2 year membership which was paid completely upfront, they refused to let me work out once more before I could get money together to renew. Not to mention, I paid the increased price in order to bring 1 guest with me for free whenever I want. AND everytime I brought a guest, the staff gave me such a hard time and pestered my guest for all of their personal information and tried to sell to them! Because of this, I will not be joining this Xsport ever again. And to add insult to injury, they now call, email AND text me multiple times per week to renew!!! I think not.
I felt that the hard push to sell me a $2500 gym membership was unfair. I was up-front and honest with them when I asked for a tour and pricing. I told them that I was just investigating at this time.They then proceeded to call me un-healthy, kept trying to upsell nutrition products, and telling me that I required 3 months of 3 day a week personal trainer. They said if I used their fitness classes, that I would not achieve my goal. The guide also stated that the classes are not useful to help me lose 15 pounds and most people at their facility use the cardio equipment incorrectly.They also withheld information regarding the 7 Day Free Trial that is advertised on the corporate site.They were rude and pushy. I also found the facility to be overcrowded and improperly lighted. Everything was dark and dreary.I was not happy with the visit, and I will not be joining the gym. I am very disappointed. I really wanted to join the fitness center based on the favorable reviews, but their attitude was obnoxious.
Coach and people there are great, but as with all the gyms the devil comes out when you try to cancel. You have to mail something to corporate and corporate just keeps asking for more and more stuff, not to mention 10-15 minutes hold times. On top of that, they ask for everything to be sent by mail, you cant fax or email. Just intentionally trying to make it painful to cancel.
The place is full of unprofessional and unethical people. They are just after money by any means. Few months back, I went there for a monthly membership. They convinced me for a yearly membership and said it is buy one year and get one free. I was okay with that since my Office would pay for that. However, the office has rules to attend the GYM for 20 days per quarter to receive the reimbursement. Thats why I asked the people there can I cancel membership anytime I want if I am not able to come GYM in a regular basis. They said, ofcourse and you will receive the prorated reimbursement. Last Saturday, I went to the GYM to cancel my membership and they said I have to call the corporate number to talk about reimbursement. This morning, I received a call from corporate office. The representative lady said, I dont qualify to cancel the membership unless I am relocating permanently. Even for that I have to show proof of new address.Just to add, they have a lot equipment damaged. They dont even bother to fix them. The experience is really bad with Xsport is really bad in all aspects.
If you want to use the stairs you might as well go somewhere else. They only have three and they are full at 5am - 9pm. Yet they have more bikes than you could imagine. Equipment is older and needs a thorough cleaning always feel gross after touching it. The place is packed from 330pm until 930pm. Its also packed from 545-8am
XSport as a company are thieves! I walked in to get a membership and felt somewhat pressured but ended up givng a payment of 100 dollars knowing very well I would need to cancel. Right before walking out I asked how long I had to cancel and the person pointed at banner hanging and said 30 days as stated on the banner. I called a few days later to cancel because I had a death in the family and was not in town and was told I needed to cancel in person. I went on 6 days later, as soon as I was able, and was told my information would be given to the manager and he would process my refund of 100 dollars. He gave me his personal number and followed up with him a couple times. After about 3 wks I followed up with the same guy and he never responded so I went in again to check the status. At this point I had already dealt with a few people mind you. They had me call the number on the tag and so I did. It was there that I spoke to a very rude person that kept saying she was a contractor and could not refund me the money. I told her I had a death in the family and was out of town. She said I never had 4 check ins so so my money could not be returned. Not once through in person visits, text or by phone was I told I needed to check in nor was going to the gym on my mind after the loss. She said she would speak to her supervisor and get back to me within the hour no more than 24 hours. Wellll, I never got a call from her. I called back and another representative told me she would call me back that day and I never got a call. I called back again a few days and was told the same thing as the first call. I have been waiting for a supervisor to call and am literally on the phone holding since I never got a call. I not once worked out at the gym. I not once was told about having to go in. I not once was given any other info until it was to late. I did come across very misinformed people and very rude representatives over the phone. Xsport basically stole my money.
I used to work for this company and I know for a fact that everbody still money from the customers and no would have no problem giving names if some one would like to reach out to me. Second the gym is dirty do not use the massage room multiply people that work out late at night have had sex on the massage bed. The machinces are old and everything is broken treadmills buttoms dont work the pins to the weights are broke and the machines are always on maintenance cause they break every couple days. Do not by personal training one its going to cost you a arm in a leg ..and the trainers are so bad you will get no results from working with them.
This Xsport is absolutely disgusting. The bathrooms haven’t been swept, their shower drains have globs of hair, it smells awful. The actual equipment has sweat stains, they’re sticky, and don’t work properly. They’re also not very modern. I will not be using my membership to come to this Xsport.
Solid gym. Signed up for pretty cheap, and got exactly what I was looking for. Three nice power racks and enough free weight space to make due.Im 68 and generally dont fit on equipment, but the assisted pull up and Smith machines were both well over the height I need on them. Big bonus for me.
Facilities are nice enough although providing towels would be nice.My big issue is how they sell and try to keep your business. When I was sold the membership I was not even given a $10/month option they only gave me the $20/month option. After 3 weeks I told them I no longer wanted to the $20 and wanted to switch to the $10. I was bounced around from person to person until finally someone helped. That would cost me $90. I then paid the $40 downgrade fee and cancelled my account (which you can only do by mail). After cancellation I still got a $50 yearly fee. Needless to say DO NOT JOIN. You cant leave.
I go to Melrose Park Location which is a good gym with good equipment (although the daycare sucks). I come to Lombard while my son is at UFC.Well this gym is falling apart, cardio machines are not working and the staff sucks and I get to the daycare (got here 10 min before 4) wait 15 minutes after 4 when the sign says they open even made the front desk guy aware I would be waiting and no attendant ever showed up to run the daycare! Not only that they got me to sign up for the 15 dollars extra a month for childcare, well I want my money back! Needless to say I have a membership at UFC too and Id much rather go there, everyone is cool and cares about their customers.
This location is the only location I will go to. I’ve been going to XSport Lombard for 4 years now and I would never switch. They keep their facility very clean, the employees are extremely friendly and always make you feel welcome. I’m so glad they added the X-IT Classes and AJ is the best! Also, the manager Mustafa is always willing to help if you have any problems! Highly recommend going to XSport Lombard!
From the outside it looks pretty small, but its actually got some space to it inside. Enough room for you to do any activities, especially for the hardcore gym nuts like myself.The good: new equipment, almost every machine you would need (benches squats etc), child care, yoga/class room, cardio center, tons of weights, juice bar, shower/locker rooms, actual personal trainers that DO care for you,spa, clothes & supplements, OPEN 24/7, chill staff, managers are somewhat ok. Great for body builders & for newbies (dont get intimidated, motivate you!)The bad: short staffed, pushy salesman, windows fogg up, they lose REAL GOOD trainers, sales dont last that long, managers need to keep their egos in check sometimes, and employee need to smile more, when they have good days youll love em, on bad days...they seem lost.other than that, this gym isnt bad compared to alot of others around the area. dont let negativity fool you!
I love this place but the AC hasnt been working for more than month now and I guess their solution is 2 big fans and places at the end of the gym but its no solution at all. Downers grove just recently got a full remodel while Lombard right down the street cant even fix its own AC.
Be warned that when you make an automatic payment from your bank, which is required by XSport, they make it very difficult to stop the payments. I tried to cancel and they told me its only possible by writing to the headquarters. I sent a formal letter over five months ago requesting the payments be stopped and the payments are still being taken from my account. I had to contact my bank and file a dispute to have the transactions blocked. (Review Update) After I had my bank block the monthly payment, XSport tried to charge me an extra $40 for the recent month (Im guessing its a penalty for the payment being denied) instead realizing that Im trying to cancel my membership. Fortunately my bank blocked the charges.
I love this gym! Great training program! Matt is an awesome trainer and has taken me so far. Not only does he help build you build strength, endurance, and muscle, but also works on your nutrition and planning to get the maximum benefits. Ive lost pounds, inches and body fat! Thanks so much Matt, Omais, Steve, and AJ for everything! Im hooked!
Smells bad. Overcrowded and the lock room smells like body ordor and feet. I know if a gym but not all gym smell this bad. Seems like everyone that works for Xsport is a douche for some reason. Like they think they are cool for working at a low end gym. I wish there was a better gym selection near me because Xsport just plain sucks.
This operation is shady!!! Hidden fees. Rude staff. Membership cancellations must be done in person between 9-5 Monday through Friday. CAUTION: if you are considering joining this gym, READ the whole 20 page contract. Dont allow some greasy, middle managment, saleperson to rush you through it.
I signed up for the monthly plan, knowing I would only be in the area for two months. Before the first month ended I realized I wasnt going to have half the free time I thought I would, so I tried to cancel my membership before the second month began. I had to jump through a dozen hoops, and NO ONE at Xsport was willing to assist me at all. In the end I had to put a stop on my bank account to quit the membership. They make it nearly impossible to quit once youve signed up, so if youre not looking for a long term commitment, stay VERY far away.
I have canceled my membership on 09/26/2018and I thought they stop charging my account. I just see my transactions they are still charging my account. So tried calling customer support for refund and to stop further payments they were rude and didn’t help me. Customer support is ridiculous here I would never recommend.
BEWARE!!!! BEN LIED AT THE TIME OF ENROLLMENT, GAINED MY SYMPATHY WHAT HAPPEN TO HIM FOR HIS OWN STORY. I WAS CERTAIN TO PAY THEM 9.95/MONTH FOR THE WHOLE YEAR AND BEN TOLD ME THERE WILL BE NO FEES AFTER ENROLLMENT. ITS A MONTH AND FEW DAYS, THEY ALREADY HAVE CHARGED 240 AND ASKING 20 MORE TO CANCEL FOR TWO OF US.

2022-02-03Staff is nice. Place is kept clean they have housekeeping staff that wipe everything down. They also have little stations all over with spray and paper towels so you can wipe down. Nice assortment of equipment. This location is very diverse.

2022-05-03STOLE THOUSANDS FROM ME. They will lie to you to get you to sign up for a contract. Now i owe them thousands according to them. I would never agree to pay for sessions i did not even make appointments for. CON ARTISTS. If you enjoy youre life stay away from here, worst experience i ever had, gave me the biggest headache!!!!UPDATE: Someone from corporate called. Insisted they know nothing of all of the complaints i filed. Declined to take care of false charges they made. Continuing to hold my account ransom. Also hung up on me when i asked for their name. Hows that for GAINS fellow gym bros

2022-01-05Of all the health clubs i have belonged to thos has become my favorite. Great staff— friendly, they get to know their clients. Great trainers. May not have all the bells and whistles but its a gym to workout in. Even the others working out are friendly and encourage one another not super busy so you can get your workout in

2022-01-13I’ve been a member of lombard since 2012. I work crazy hours and usually go at 11 pm toLift and it’s pretty peaceful. But, for some reason I’m paying for a 24 hour gym when they now close at 11 pm. Apparently Covid is horribly catchable at 11pm, especially when there are not a lot of people there. I’m going to have to cancel after all these years. I’m in a dupage county for a reason, not cook. Very disappointed

2022-01-18I just resigned a month ago and they said they were open 24 hours. I guess because of covid they changed their hours. They have eliminated all of their hours when there is no one one in the gym and forced everyone together during the day. Great way to stay away from covid. #nobodys in charge or else they are sleeping

2022-02-09There has never been a clean tanning bed ever I clean it myself . Missing a few pieces of safty equipment but all the dumbells are there . Definitely has some monsters lifting here !!!

2022-03-10Just say no and keep walking. Staff is unfriendly and unhelpful, facility isnt the cleanest, group fitness room temperature control is off, hard to find reasonably close parking during peak hours, no variety in types of classes offered. Honestly there are a lot of other options in the area so why settle.

2022-03-16They dont appear to be going back to a 24hr operation. Too bad. You can go elsewhere with better maintained equipment. They will probably thank me for my Lombard experience.
