So i originally hired WCP as my wedding photography for my wedding next year. Put the deposit down and everything. My fiancé and I then decided that we were changing our whole wedding vision/theme and were wanting a more moody style of photography. I talked with Katie and let her know my situation and she was super understanding. She even offered to refund my deposit back even though in the contract it said that the deposit was non-refundable. Even though I ended up not going with Sam and Katie, Katie has been nothing short of professional and for all of the other brides looking at this right now, know that you’ll be in good hands with them! :)
Windy City took my engagement photos, which were so fun and perfect! We met Sam for our photos and he made it so smooth and anxiety free! We got the photos back so quickly and they were so beautiful! I just got married last weekend and Sam and Katie took photos and videos of our special day and it went PERFECT. I cannot wait to get our images back. We had so much fun and they know exactly how to break the ice and just have us all let loose and get those special moments. We will be using them for future family photos!
WCP did our wedding video for us and we are so thankful that we have kept in touch with them over the years. We not only love their work but Sam and Katie make it so easy to be yourself on camera. They are so sweet! Both Sam and Katie have also taken family photos for us and because of them we have pictures that we will cherish forever.
Katie was amazing! As a nervous bride, she was always there to respond to any and all inquiries that I had. She was so easy to work with! We had a brunch wedding, so she had to be at our getting ready venue very early. She was on time, enthusiastic, and made sure we stayed as on schedule as possible! She knew exactly how to capture our wedding day. Our bridal party had nothing but great things to say about Katie, and she made us all feel so comfortable and beautiful. I am so glad I chose Windy City Productions for our photography.My wedding day flew by. After the day was over, I felt like I could hardly remember every moment! Katie and Sam perfectly captured our day with video. When I watched the video, memories came flooding back. As a bride, there is so much coming at you from every angle, and it is so easy to miss the special moments! With the amazing wedding video they created, I am able to relive the best day of our lives. My husband and I ended up having to cancel our big wedding plans due to Covid and had a small intimate wedding with our immediately family instead. We’re actually approaching our first anniversary! A lot of vendors kept our deposit when we cancelled, which for some is understandable based on contracts and the hard time that Covid brought on everyone. Katie & Sam were not one of them! We were so disappointed that we did not get to have them photograph our wedding, but they were kind enough to return our deposit. We knew when we chose them to photograph our wedding we had made the right choice, but we couldn’t thank them enough for also helping us get through such a difficult time of cancelling our vendors. I highly recommend using them and would gladly recommend Windy City Productions for anyone looking!
Katie was our photographer the day of our wedding and she was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly enthusiastic and made everyone feel so comfortable throughout the entire day. After dinner, she surprised us with a slideshow that she put together of photos that were taken earlier in the day and put it to a song that we wanted played during dinner. It was the best surprise and we were so touched. Our pictures turned out beautiful, it will be so hard to decide which photos to put into an album! We are still getting compliments from our family and friends on how wonderful Katie was and how amazing our photos turned out. We hope to have a shoot with Katie in the future!
I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Windy City Production. My fiancée and I had to reschedule our wedding due to COVID-19, and they weren’t available on our new wedding date. Sam and Katie were extremely understanding and flexible, providing a quick and full refund of our deposit and even sending over some referrals and helping us find someone else to capture our special day. I can’t recommend them enough. These are good people, and they’ll take care of you no matter the circumstance.
We used Windy City for our wedding in July and couldn’t be happier with how incredible Katie and Sam are. Our wedding was on a yacht, cruising around NYC, and we did our first look & bridal party pix on the marina, so having a creative and dynamic duo was a must-have for us.First of all, Sam and Katie did a great job on a tight schedule while getting all of the shots we wanted. Our bridal party was blown away by their fun personalities, professionalism and their little tricks and tactics for getting the best photos and footage out of us all!Not only did our photos take our breath away, but our wedding video is beyond words. My husband and I still tear up when we watch it because it’s seriously more beautiful than any romantic blockbuster we’ve ever seen. We have gotten so many compliments because of how impressive it is. By the way, all of this was edited and delivered to us in only 2 weeks which is UNREAL!Overall, their prices are amazing (especially compared to other vendors where we live) and the quality of their work is phenomenal. We love the hardcover photo album we just got from them as well! Thank you, Katie and Sam for making us feel like movie stars!! It is such a joy to be able to experience our wedding day again and again through your lens :)
I hired Windy City Productions for my May 28, 2016 wedding and I must say it was one of the best decisions I made during my wedding planning process. Katie and her team were not only professional, they went above and beyond to make sure they captured EVERYTHING...literally EVERYTHING.I contacted Katie about a year before my wedding and after my meeting with her, I decided to look no further. She was very approachable and made me feel comfortable, very responsive to all my emails, and answered every question I had. Her prices were very affordable as well so I decided to book her and her team for photography and video.On the day of the wedding, Katie and her team showed up on time, with a gift bag (which I thought was very thoughtful) and captured every moment. Throughout the day, she kept checking on myself and the groom to make sure we didnt need anything; our guests and wedding planner even commented on how impressed they were with her level of professionalism.When we got our pictures and video, I was blown away. Katie executed exactly what we had discussed, the style of photography I wanted was exactly what she delivered and again, she captured EVERYTHING. Our video was PERFECT, I feel like Im reliving the day all over again whenever I watch it. Everyone we have shared our pictures and video with have nothing to say but GREAT things. We have even gotten several inquiries on who did our photos and video, because of how great they turned out. I highly recommend Windy City Productions, I will book them for any major event I have in the future!
Katie has been amazing to work with, especially during these difficult times. She worked with us through scheduling and rescheduling our date. Took absolutely amazing pictures during our small ceremony that we held last year. And we when ultimately decided to cancel the large ceremony that we rescheduled this year, she refunded us the deposit!!!We will absolutely be working with Katie and Windy City Production again in the future! This is going to be a long BUT WORTHY review because my husband and I couldn’t leave any detail about Windy City left out! We booked Windy City Productions to use as our wedding videographers after seeing their fabulous work at my cousins wedding. After having our first phone call about wedding details, timeline, ideas and much more, I knew we were in great hands because Sam was so helpful and took a lot of stress off of our shoulders. Fast forward to our wedding day.... we could not have been more blown away by Sam and Windy City Productions. From the beginning of the day to the very end they were a blast to work with. They made everything easy and fun and were able to handle our very big and obnoxious bridal party with ease. Our absolute favorite thing about the day was the little video (I call it a sneak peek) they put together for us during our wedding reception. We could not believe the talent behind this video!! It had clips from the whole day in it and they were able to put this together before the night even ended! The video had all of our guests in happy tears. And now, after receiving our final wedding video, we haven’t been able to turn it off! We’ve watched it 20 times and each time we love it more and more! We’ve had many, many people asking about Windy City Productions after seeing them at our wedding and so many compliments on them and their work. We will be recommending them to everyone and anyone!
Katie and Windy City Production was a wonderful company to work with. Due to financial circumstances we had to cancel our wedding that was already postponed due to COVID. Instead of making us pay cancellation fees, she refunded our deposit which the did not happen with every other vendor that we worked with and amazed us. It is amazing to see vendors that still value people and are very understanding and graceful.
Windy City did photography and video for my cousin’s wedding a few years ago. I was blown away at the quality of their work, so when I got engaged, they were one of the first vendors that I sat down with. I had a few phone conversations with Katie. She was extremely warm and friendly, and she took the time to answer every single one of my questions. At no time did she ever make me feel like I was rushed or that my concerns weren’t just as important to her as they were to me. Over the course of the 9 months i has to plan my wedding, I had reached out to Katie a few times with several questions and she always answered my questions and took time to ask me about how things were going. On my wedding day (October 2017) the photographer and videographer that arrived were friendly, on time, professional, and they fit right in with our group. My pictures and video where delivered as promised within two weeks after my wedding date. Both sets were amazing, and both professionals captured the type of imagery that I wanted for my day. In fact, my wedding movie made me cry. I recommend Windy City to anybody that is looking for suggestions on their big day. Their pricing was very budget friendly, and their customer service & overall quality put them well over the top!!! THANK YOU WINDY CITY for being the eyes & ears of the most memorable day of my life.
Katie and her team were incredible from start to finish! My wife and I were both very much ignorant to the wedding process overall. I say this because the one thing we really appreciated about Katie was that she made sure to ask us questions and give suggestions about aspects of the wedding we hadnt even considered. She truly cared about our entire wedding experience and not just the photos. Additionally, she was extremely efficient during the bridal party photos and captured so many amazing candids during times we didnt even know she was there. In fact, our bridal party were beyond hype for all the social media-worthy photos they received for themselves!Lastly, we received our photos well before any of our friends whove gotten married before us! All we can say is that we highly recommend her to any couple looking for true professionals at a price that wont break your budget. Katie, thank you again for all youve done for us! Windy City Productions captured our wedding on 5/7/16. They were truly a pleasure to work with! We used them for photo and video, as well as our DJ, who happens to be Katies Husband :) I must say that having the DJ and Photo/Video crew know each other and work together really helped make the reception flow nicely. They were completely in sync and work together to make everything perfect. Katie is so creative and has such an eye for wedding photography. My husband and I arent models and are not use to posing for so many pictures but they really made it not feel awkward at all. Katie even brought over a day of wedding present, so thoughtful!Katie came armed with cameras, my pinterest wedding photo board printed out in hand, and even some cute chunky gold glitter to throw in pictures (which came out so cute!). We are very happy with our choice to go with Windy City and I would recommend them to any of my friends getting married. They are affordable, professional, and fun! I cant wait to get our album in the mail to display on the coffee table in our living room... its a surprisingly chic and beautiful album too with our names on the cover and initials embossed on the inside of the covers.
Fully refunded deposit without hesitation! As a COVID bride, the restrictions in Illinois ultimately altered what we initially had planned for our special day. We ended up deciding to move our wedding out of Illinois to another less restrictive state in order to be able to celebrate with as many loved ones as possible. When notifying Katie at Windy City Production, she honored our full refund back to us without hesitation! Katie has been so easy to work with and it was such a relief that when we had to change plans, she was so understanding. I was initially referred to her from our friends wedding, and the video of their day was so perfect: had a special sparkle and emotion to it that really captured the essence of the day. Although I’m sad we won’t ultimately be able to have a video of our day, I will absolutely use them for something in the future and would recommend them to any bride especially under covid concerns.
I was hesitant to work with Windy City Production as they do not have any African American Weddings/Photographs/Videos posted on their website. Being AA it was important to me that we were captured with the right cameras in the correct lighting on our wedding day. From our first initial meeting with Sam and Katie, Windy City Production were absolutely perfect on through to the day of our wedding. We had two associate photographers and they were really nice, sweet and patient with us. They arrived right on time to the hotel and took pictures without prompting. They made sure to capture the types of pictures we discussed in our pre-planning call. Sometimes photographers can be a nuisance...but Windy City was almost invisible but very thorough. My favorite part was looking back on our pictures and videos and not even realizing that they were able to capture so many special moments. In our edited video there is this video of me helping my daughter with her flower girl dress and it was such a special moment that I didnt realize at the time until I saw it and made me tear up. My pictures and video short received so many compliments. We are extremely grateful to Windy City for their excellent service. My only suggestion to Windy City would be to add brides of color to your website so we can see your versatility.
Katie is AMAZING! From the first email exchange, Katie was responsive and professional. She was more then willing to set up times for phone conversations and a face to face in studio meeting, which were both important to us. She had great ideas for our engagement pictures and really listened to what we wanted. She was able to make us feel completely comfortable and guided us through the various portraits. Both, my fiance and I, LOVED our engagement photos and we highly recommend Windy City Production to everyone who needs engagement/wedding related photography. I cant wait to see her amazing work on our wedding day. :)
Katie and the team from Windy City Production were so amazing for our wedding day. She was great with helping to organize our very large wedding party and taking amazing pictures! Not to mention braving through the cold for a New Years wedding in -3 degree weather. Those were some of the best shots. We are going to run out of frames to put all of our favorite pictures in. Katie was amazing for our wedding day! A photographer myself, our pictures were particularly important to me and Katie was always willing to discuss the style I wanted down to the smallest details. The day of, she was part photographer part superhero as she nagivated the day making sure everyone in our families and wedding party were happy and taken care of, as well as taking beautiful pictures start to finish! Almost two years later, many newly engaged friends I have still ask about our photographer because they remember the lovely pictures and lovely photographer we had.

They did great work and we found the quality of the end product to be consistent with everything we saw online. Oh. My. Goodness, where do I begin? Katie and Sam made my wedding day everything I could have imagined it to be. From our very first meeting, I knew they would do a phenomenal job. Their style is like nothing I have seen in other photographs/videos.Katies personality is infectious and genuine and Sam made us feel at home. They were able to answer all of our questions and were obviously passionate about their work, we went with them.Best. Decision. Hands Down.Katie and Sam were able to capture every single special moment throughout the day. The views and shots they were able to capture- my mind is still blown. They are ninjas! I never saw them but somehow they were able to get incredible shots! Also, Katie was able to remember every single detail of what we were looking for and was totally open to our ideas. I am OBSESSED with my pictures and video. Trust me, the day is a whirlwind, and you wont be able to remember everything or be everywhere you want to be, but Katie and Sam will capture every moment and make them last forever. What an amazing addition to our wedding day! Throughout the whole wedding planning Katie was extremely helpful, kind, and thoughtful. She ensured that we had all of the shots we wanted and many we didnt even know we wanted! She arrived early, to our already early morning wedding, and immediately jumped into our crazy group of people. She kept our wedding party on track and organized, which isnt too easy with a group of 27! Katie helped fend off some of my bridal nerves and ensured that our day ran smoothly. There are several pictures that she took, that I didnt even notice her taking. She blended into the day and caught several great candid photos, as well as some absolutely amazing shots of my husband and I at sunset. She even went so far as to look at my wedding board on Pinterest to get the pictures that we wanted. Our wedding day would not have been the same without Katie there. She went above and beyond, and we are very grateful for her and all of the work she put into our day. If it is important to you to have THE BEST video/ photo coverage for your wedding, then look no further. I cant say enough good things about this company. They are so reasonably priced too! Katie and Sam go ABOVE AND BEYOND. They are worth every penny. You are with your video and photo people most of your wedding day, so you for sure want to get along and vibe well with your people. These are the people for it, I can assure you. We have THE BEST video of our day, they captured our day better than we could have ever imagined! They made us laugh, cry tears of joy, and feel so extremely lucky and grateful to have them be a part of our day. You will not be disappointed one bit of the process. Windy City Productions was both my videographer and photographer for my wedding in October and they did such an excellent job!Originally, I was not sure if I even wanted a videographer but man, I am so glad I ended up deciding to. My video is great quality and captured so many great moments, going perfectly to the soundtrack that I hand selected. Not to mention, I got it 2 weeks after the wedding, such great turn around time!Our photos are equally gorgeous and were delivered so incredibly timely digitally without any issues. I was easily able to share them with family who were so impressed on how quickly I received them.The day of the wedding was the best part, Katie and her associate Natalie were so easy-going and organized, it made the whole process go so smoothly. My husband and I arent big on the cheese factor, but they made us feel so comfortable and I really think that showed in our photos instead of our awkward selves. Katie made sure to go over the timeline with me ahead of time as well as making sure she knew exactly what I wanted to be captured and in what way on the big day. My timeline was kind of crunched, but I dont think our photos suffered in the slightest. I am not the most organized person so Im glad they had clear directions for us that made the process go super smooth.Overall, I cannot say enough about how happy I am with Windy City Productions and the whole photo/video experience they provided. I would highly recommend their services for your big day, especially if you want to feel at ease in the process and have great quality photo and video to ensure your memories last forever. The guests at our wedding could not stop commenting on how much they enjoyed Sal and Sam as they were capturing our day. Sal made us feel very comfortable and we had so much fun working with him. The price of our photography package was a great value compared to other companies in the area. Contacting Katie and Sal was always easy, and they were both very receptive to our desires for the day and the kinds of photos we wanted. I would absolutely recommend using Windy City Productions. I used windy city for my wedding day video. Working with Katie was a delightful experience from beginning to end. From our first meeting, to going over our timeline, to final video edits, she was always there to answer my questions and make me feel at ease with any concerns. On my wedding day she arrived on time and captured all the moments of my day with out standing out or getting in the way. I couldnt be happier with my final video of my day. Her work is exceptional! I truly cant say enough great things about WCP! After doing a TON of research, reaching out to a bunch of places, and reviewing endless galleries, we hired Katie and Sam to shoot at our wedding. We could not be happier with not only the results, but the care, service, and kindness that came along as well!Katie was fantastic through the entire process. Always kept me updated, and was more than patient with all my questions - even setting up time for us to meet in person (pre COVID) and over the phone when needed to make sure I felt at ease. 3 years later, I’m so grateful we picked WCP to shoot our wedding. Katie and crew were amazing to work with and we got more show stopping images than we thought we would. I loved working with Windy City Production for our wedding photography and videography! They are a close-knit company and every employee we worked with made us feel included and comfortable. They have many different packages available to choose from and we were able to find one that best fit our needs. Katie made the time to talk over the phone, back and forth through email, and met with us in person to help us understand all the services they provided. This helped us to choose the best package for what we wanted captured on our wedding day. Katie was always professional and available to answer all our questions throughout the planning process. In addition to the serviced we chose, Katie offered to do an engagement photo shoot with us. We were able to choose when and where we wanted the pictures and we are so thankful to have those memories. Getting closer to the day of, the head photographer and videographer Sam and Sal sat down with us to better understand us as a couple and to know what we expected as the bride and groom. They made us feel calm and prepared as we went over how the flow of the big day will go. They made sure to ask if there were any special pictures we wanted or events happening that we would like captured. That was very helpful for us when the wedding day came since we didn’t have to try and remember to tell them certain things since they knew ahead of time. They remembered the things we requested and majorly exceeded our expectations. We had two photographers and one videographer who were all very helpful throughout the entire day. Including helping get ready, continuously keeping the dress train visible, rounding up the bridal party, and staying on schedule with time lines. They made sure to pick the perfect spot for pictures by weighing the problematic of the sun, the background views, and the number of people. We had a large bridal party of 25 people and they handled the group with ease. I was very pleased at how laid back, calm, but yet always available they were. Since they are a small company that wants to provide outstanding photos, the editing process took a little longer than we would have liked. However, the ability to have the rights to all photos taken outweighs the length of time we had to wait to see them. We love having every picture and memory of our wedding day. The package we picked provided us with a video cinema created by the company to highlight the major parts. We were very pleased that they went beyond what the package required to present us with a cinema of the most memorable parts of our wedding day. Thank you so very much to Sam, Sal, and Marisa for being such a huge part of our wedding and helping make our day go so smooth. A-MAZ-ING! I met Katie & Sam this weekend when they photographed my family for Christmas photos. They were INCREDIBLE! Super friendly, very professional, and just all around GREAT people! I’m truly inspired by both of them and how they have managed to build their company from the ground up and still remain humble. I booked Windy City Production for my wedding next year after seeing their adds on instagram and they have exceeded my expectations already. Our Christmas photos are incredible and we cannot wait for them to shoot our wedding. Well, lets start out by saying that Katie is the sweetest ever. She really made me feel comfortable with working with her and her husband. They really are an amazing team without seeming super commercial. My wedding went by so fast and I was so worried that I would not have any good pictures because I felt like I did not see the photographer the entire night. I told my mom this and she laughed and said that he was following me around all night. I guess hes just that good he blended in! On top of the amazing service from Sal, I got my pictures after 2 weeks.. I have a friend who got married 2 months before me and still has not gotten any pictures yet. I am so happy with the results. The pictures are so classic and romantic. They seem natural and I am just so thrilled. My only issue is that Im having a hard time downloading them to my computer but Im pretty sure it is an error with my operating system and not WCPs fault. Thank you guys so much for my amazing photos and I am definitely going to be recommending you to everyone that I can.
Our experience with Windy City Production was absolutely amazing! From the first correspondence, Katie was always on top of everything and very responsive and friendly. We planned our wedding from 1200 miles away, and I was never worried one bit about the videographer! They sent Cindy to capture our special day, and she was such a sweetheart! She was so warm and friendly - definitely made everyone feel comfortable, so much so that we didn’t even know she was filming half the time, all while capturing the most special moments. She has a creative eye without a doubt - our wedding cinema was breathtaking! On top of being a talented videographer, she was the absolute nicest person - even offered me a bobby pin from her own updo when I had a curl fall during photos! We were referred to Windy City Productions by a friend and my make-up artist around June. Our wedding was in September. I called and spoke with Katie and luckily our date was available. Katie sent me videos of previous clients. After watching them, we were pleased with the services. And the rest is history. On our wedding day, Melanie came and hour before to set up. She captioned every moment of the ceremony and specific parts of the reception. After editing was complete, we met up with Katie to watch the entire video. Katie and Melanie did a wonderful job photographing our wedding and reception. They made the entire planning process a breeze for us, and made us feel so comfortable on our wedding day. We were scrambling a bit with our last minute wedding plans, and did not have a wedding coordinator to help us through the big day. Katie quickly offered to put together a schedule for our reception, and to help guide our guests through the night. WCP went above and beyond what we had asked of them, and made us and our guests feel so relaxed on our big day. The photographs turned out even more beautiful than we could have hoped for, and the final product was perfect! As a bonus, Katie offered to edit a few of our favorite honeymoon photos for us once we returned home. Kathy, Katie, and the Windy City Production Team created an incredible teaser and cinematic video for our wedding! We were able to meet with them in person during the planning process, and they were very personable. (Plus, they had three ADORABLE Boxer dogs at their office!!!) They also finished the videos fairly quickly, and sent us those and all of the raw footage on DVDs in keepsake boxes. Thank you, Windy City Production!
Katie and Sam were very personal, down to earth and easy to work with. They made our fairytale wedding come true! I gave Katie example pictures I wanted and she captured everything in the end. They were beautiful, everything I envisioned. She transitioned our loud bridal party from ceremony to pictures to cocktail with such ease. She captured all of our friends and families personalities to a tee. DJ Sammy kept the partying hopping all night with his humor, banter and perfect song choices. He also helped loosen up the crowd since my sister was so nervous with her maid of honor speech. Our guests said it was one of the best weddings theyve been too. No one left the dance floor until the very end. The videographer was beautiful as well. It focused on all of the main points while still highlighting the love and excitement of the day. Also, they provided DJ, Video and Photographer for an awesome price.They were so much fun to work with! I highly recommend them.
When i first got engaged i started looking for Photographers and DJs. i first came across Katie at Windy City Productions and found out that Sam at True Sounds Entertainment was part of the Brides Bundle, i thought was an amazing idea and deal, since i was mostly paying for my wedding by myself, cost was one of the big factors that i had in mind. Working with Katie and Sam was such a pleasure, they totally understood that me and my husband was paying for our wedding ourselves and was willing to work with us with the brides bundle. We first met with them and Katie did a free engagement photo shoot which was so much fun, she had so many creative ideas and it really gave us an opportunity to get to know her and her photography style, the picture turned out amazing and i knew we had to have her for our wedding. Sam was our Dj and he was such a great guy to work with, he showed us his really helpful music selection system that he had that really helped us when picking out different songs for each moment in our ceremony and reception that we never even thought we needed a song to, it also helped us with the break down of how the day was going to go which also put my mind at ease. On our wedding day Sam really knew how to get all of our guest out on the dance floor and everyone had such a great time. This couple is a great pair and you can tell that they are very passionate in what they do and they truly care about making you wedding day as special as it can be. When we got to our other photo spot to take pictures, the spot was actually being used for another event that we did not know about before hand, Katie was a great problem solver and jumped in and found a solution that worked out even better then the spot we originally had, she had no problem getting down in the grass or fighting off a swarm of bees to capture the perfect shot, and for that i am grateful. I just got my wedding photos back and i cant tell you enough how amazing they turned out, Katie captured every important moment from my dad walking me down the isle, seeing my husbands face when he saw me for the fist time to smashing the cake in his face. when i saw the pictures, i couldnt help by cry, its like i was reliving my wedding day all over again and i couldnt be more happy with the way the photos turned out.Katie captured our forever memories that i cant wait to share with everyone, there is no one else i would have wanted to share by day with then with you two. Windy City Production should be your only choice when it comes to wedding photography and video. They truly care about their client and the vision they are looking for on their big day! We wanted rustic romantic type pictures and they really delivered. I have never felt so beautiful in my entire life. And the wedding video was breathtaking.. In addition to being extremely skilled photographers and videographers they took the time to really get to know us and they just exude warmth and happiness. They are the type of people you just love being around and on your big day it is so important to be surrounded by people like this. I cannot recommend them enough!
If you are looking for an excellent quality wedding video then I would 100% recommend hiring Windy City Productions! About 2 or 3 weeks before the big day my fiance and I decided last min. we wanted to get a videographer and WCP was able to get us a quote and give us the information we needed in no time! Sam was excellent to work with throughout our wedding day and we were blown away when we saw our video. Our video was everything we wanted and more, and we got it in such a short amount of time. I would recommend adding the drone feature to your package its definitely worth it!

I liked Katie the second I met with her about wedding photography and videography and Im so glad I chose WCP to shoot my wedding. Not only were Katie and Jaime such awesome people to work with as a bride, I heard raving reviews from all of the bridal party, friends and family about how professional and fun they were to work with. Jaime would snap some photos, after which, he showed them to us to see if we liked it or if we had a different vision. They also went out of their way to go to the salon where I was getting my hair and makeup done and took a few shots and video there.I am also beyond impressed that they made a wedding video teaser less than a week after the wedding! We are so happy that we found Katie and Sammy, for our daughters wedding day. They were VERY professional and met all of our needs and questions. They were at the Venue WAY before we got there and were early to set things up and take photos and videos. Choosing Windy City Productions for our wedding photos and videos was one of the best choices I made. Katie couldnt have been any nicer to work with throughout the process. Sal did our photos and Kathy did our video. Both of them blew me away. Not only did they go above my expectations with their delivery, but they are also genuinely fun and friendly people to work with.
Ill start by saying we were blessed. We were able to have Katie and Kathy as our photographers and Katies Husband Sammy as our DJ (Separate happy review on his page). From the months of planning in advance Katie was diligent to learn what Peter and I wanted on our wedding day and to be prepared ahead of time. She was Early on the day of the wedding (Kathy was with the boys but was also early). Ill go ahead and say.... I wasnt the easiest bride. Its a very emotional day and although I tried I was in a fit of tears about every hour. Katie took this in stride. She was gentle yet direct (which we desperately needed) We had 24 people in our bridal party and a handful of bridesmaids/groomsmen prematurely hit their drinking limit.Katie laughed the whole way through she made me feel so at ease and pulled off amazing shots all the while!Katie arrived the bridal suite before the ceremony. Our wedding was at one pm. After the wedding ceremony we spent no less than 4 hours doing a photography shoot on a trolley and at the Lincoln park Zoo. Then she came with us to the reception and was there until after 11pm. Katie and Kathy had a long intense day with an emotional bride a bumbling wedding party and the sheer hours that they put in for us! They were a super human duo and I couldnt have been more thrilled with their attention to detail and the beautiful photos of our wedding day!

Katie and Sam shot our wedding this last July and we could not have been happier. It was 90 degrees outside and we had 3 hours straight of outdoor pictures and they were running from angle to angle to get the shot. Once we got to the Aurora office she even gave us some things to do/see around the area as a courtesy. Katie did an INCREDIBLE job photographing our wedding on August 8, 2015. When we first met with her she had such a charismatic personality that we instantly connected with. She spent time getting to know us, what we were looking for in our pictures, and kept in contact leading up to our wedding as I sent different samples of shots and wedding videos so she knew exactly the feel I was going for and let me tell you she NAILED it! Katie was so professional, showed up on time, if not a few minutes early, at my house for pre-ceremony pictures, as we were getting ready. She paid close attention to detail yet we hardly even knew she was there. She did a great job getting a wide variety of shots in the short amount of time before and after our ceremony. Although I love pictures, my biggest fear was being constantly yanked out of our reception for a picture to the point that I wouldn’t be able to soak it all in or standing out in the hot August sun for hours because we wouldn’t be able to nail the right pose, but the truth is it was nothing like that. My bridal party kept asking me where I found her because she was so amazing, moved quickly, was very professional, and knew exactly what she was doing and showed so much creativity. Katie and her crew blended into the crowd during the church ceremony and the reception, but managed to capture every shot possible, including our friend’s laughing hysterically at my brother in laws best man roast, my nephew and father sitting along the riverfront all unraveled during bridal shots, and all the excitement on the dance floor. Although I know that I will never be able to top my wedding day and the birth of my children as “the best day ever”, the day that I opened up the files to see all of the gorgeous shots from the wedding and as we watched our wedding video, it’ll definitely be a day I will never forget. My family and I laughed and cried reliving the day. Not only did she capture all of the important shots, she went above and beyond to capture so so much more. Not only were we impressed, but I have had several people from my wedding party and attendees at my reception reach out during and afterwards to get her information. I booked my photography, videography, and photo booth through Katie and it was honestly the best money we have ever spent! I can’t recommend them highly enough for all three as we were blown away!

She made everyone feel as ease...even those who don’t like to be in front of the camera. We had our video within two weeks. It was incredible. I was initially very pleased with Katie and her teams work, but my experiences changed after the wedding was over. While she was quick to respond, attentive to my needs, and generous with her help before the event, she was hard to reach and manipulative afterwards. I felt that she did not treat me with the respect I deserved as a customer and did not give me adequate information about her policies before withholding photos that I was under the impression were already included in my package.I am unhappy with the level of professionalism displayed with this company, but overall cannot complain about the quality of the product.

My wife and I used Windy City Productions for our wedding and we were so so happy with our decision. Katie and Sam took the time to really try to understood the vision that we had for our wedding and Kathy and Sal did an amazing job with the videography and photography. We didnt even bother meeting with any other photographers after meeting with them because they were so impressive and their pricing is more than fair and they offer a ton of discounts if you bundled a lot of their services. I would definitely recommend bundling because 1) the discounts and 2) it made it a lot simpler for us having one vendor handling multiple services at the wedding. If I had one complaint, it would be that at times in the beginning it was a little bit difficult to get in contact with them, but this was during peak wedding season so I completely understand they were busy and we werent in any rush. And when our wedding got closer, the communication was very prompt. I would definitely recommend Windy City Production!

I will say Sal/Sam are the best. First off I have to say the Owner Sam, showed up to my event on his day off, to capture photos. We didnt ask him to come but we excited to find out we had two photographers taking our pictures. We were told Sam wanted to capture some special moments for us. Sal made not only my bride, but me feel so much at ease. Windy City productions is like family. The best any bride or groom could ask for. Photos also came in early and in perfect condition. Will be using them again for all my photo needs.

Sam completely blew us away! He just does his job so well. He MAKES moments happen by pulling you aside with not only your groom but also with all the other behind-the-scenes people like your mom, your sister, etc. He really gets you to come back to the moment and BE PRESENT with those around you amidst the chaos. Like everyone says, your wedding day is a blur and I cannot tell you how thankful I am for what he did. Those are the moments I remember. And, of course, his day-of edit was priceless. I felt like our entire reception was crying (even some of my husband’s ex-rugby teammates!!!). Our guests continued to talk about the video into the next day and a week later I am still getting texts asking when I will be able to share it. It was THAT good, I’m telling you...(and it was not because we do well in front of a camera - quite the opposite actually)! I would recommend Sam whole-heartedly and without reservation. The videographer arrived on the wedding day -super nice, professional and pleasant, and as the day went on, you did not even notice he was there (this is what you want in anyone there to capture the event) I received the teaser video within a few days, and then the final video a few days after that. I realized after watching these just how present he was at every single aspect of the wedding - he captured everything PERFECTLY, and it is so well done. I cannot say enough good things about them. I was skeptical to hire a videographer I did not know (Ive seen some bad ones on the internet), and this is my favorite vendor we used by FAR (and we used some really good, high end vendors). My husband and I watch the video every day and always find something new, I cannot believe he did such a great job of documenting our special day - he did not miss a thing and it is put together so nicely. 5 stars - and more if I could!
We hired Windy City Productions to film our ceremony. It was a great surprise that they also took the time to capture the beautiful venue, a few moments during our cocktail hour and even some footage of me taking pictures with my bridesmaids. Were very pleased with the product -- and were thrilled that we decided to have a videographer (originally, we werent sure we wanted one). Now, were looking forward to making it a tradition to watch our awesome wedding video every anniversary. :-)
We had our wedding on Saturday, June 25, 2016, and booked Windy City Production about 8-10 months in advance because of the quality of their photography and the style that we saw in their previous work, and because the package deals that they offered were within our budget. Sal from Windy City Production was our photographer, and Katie coordinated the planning with us. Katie and Sal were very well organized in the planning process and on the day of our wedding. Sal worked about 12 hours for our wedding, with a very positive and professional attitude. He stayed extra overtime because our dance party reception was still going on, and he had no problems with that. He was invisible during our ceremony, and took great shots. After that, he helped coordinate guests for the grand exit of the reception, and was patient for all of our family photos inside the Alice Millar Chapel on Northwestern Campus. After the ceremony, the photographer Sal went with us to the lighthouse in Evanston, IL, and the Shakespeare Garden on Northwestern Campus in Evanston, IL where he took some great photos as well. He gave us great direction, and had great poses for us. I forgot to direct him to take some photos of the guys without our jackets on. It was so hot, and we were in a hurry, so I wished I had remembered that, but besides my absent mindedness, nothing else was a problem with the entire process. Our reception photos were very candid as we were hoping for. The cropping/ editing process was wonderful as well. Overall, we are very pleased with our photography, and excited to have such well produced memories of our most special day of our lives so far. We would definitely recommend Windy City Production!

I booked Katie through Windy City Productions and could not have ASKED for a better photographer!! She was bubbly, fun, and seemed to be everywhere at once!! She was able to keep up with my crazy friends and even lended a hand to help button up my dress when the hotel didn’t turn on the AC!! Lol WCP has amazing communication, are fun, supportive, work hard, and are overall a great company!!! I would recommend them 110% for any photo or video work!!!! I couldn’t have been happier!!!!
I cannot say enough good things about Katie and Sam. Without much input from us, they were able to capture all the moments that we wanted and include all the friends and family members that we hoped for. They brought the right energy to our wedding and we will be recommending them to our friends.
Choosing Windy City Production to do our wedding videography was honestly the best decision we could have made! Not only are they affordable but their work is AMAZING and Katie and her team are BEYOND TALENTED. For real. Leading up to the wedding, it was so easy to work with them. Kathy was our videographer and she was so sweet and truly listened to my wedding vision and what I wanted out of our wedding video. On our wedding day, I didnt even notice that she was there filming and it felt more like a friend capturing all of the special moments - thats how comfortable she made me feel. Which I think most of us can agree that having someone in your face filming all day could feel a little awkward. It didnt.Naturally, prior to choosing them (and until we got our cinema), I creeped on their Vimeo once a week =) If youve watched their videos, you know how great they are - and dont lie, youve shed a tear or ten. When I saw our wedding video posted, I was SO nervous. I can be pretty hard to please and a little bit of a perfectionist. As soon as I hit the play button, all of my worries and potential criticism were wiped away. The video was (and is) PERFECT! Literally, NO ONE could capture that day and every moment (and put it all with music) so perfectly. I am so happy that we have this video to cherish for the rest of our lives and that we can relive that day forever. Wedding videography is truly priceless and something I know I would regret if I had gone without. Windy City Production is truly the best choice and we are so thankful we chose them!
Overall It was fantastic. DJ and Photographer was amazing. I feel like alot of the photos will come out perfect. Katie, you had alot of great ideas for the pictures and i know you captured the important parts of the day. I loved that you were in control when we took our pictures and how many different ideas you had come up with before and after the ceremony.Everyone from my wedding said that my DJ and Photographer were great and couldnt have done any better. I cant wait to see the outcome of the photos and i definitely would recommend both services. Beautiful pictures! We wanted more natural/artistic pictures instead of the traditional portraits and they definitely delivered stunning photos. We had them take video of the ceremony and photos of the day. The price for both was very economical considering the quality of their products was top notch. My fiancé and I were super busy with work while wedding planning was in full swing and WCP made the process very easy and we definitely were in good hands. If I had to do it over again I would definitely choose to go with WCP again but instead of getting the basic photo book I would have gone with the premium one since they delivered such a beautiful product that I would never have the time to even think of doing myself. Bottom line; don’t be afraid to spend on your photos they are worth it!

Sal is the best! Our wedding was a while ago now, but I still look at my pictures all the time and think about how easy he made our day. We loved all the images and his ability to work with such a large wedding party. He also had snacks in his bag in case we got hungry! Haha - hes the best. So glad we went with this company

Great to work with from the beginning to the end. Katie heard my vision and I liked the way this company edits the footage. But the final piece was more than I expected. They listened to what I asked for and then added their own creativity and its stunning. This was well worth it and they are priced competitively. They got the video to us even faster than what they promised. Couldnt be happier and will be using them again.

Windy City Production covered the videography for one of my creative projects – a Happy birthday video for my husband. Throughout the planning process Windy City Production was very responsive and helpful in addressing my video project questions, as well as collecting my ideas and suggestions in advance trying to understand my vision. Windy City Production’s lead Videographer Sam Velazquez arrived on time, with a solid idea of what we needed and we dove in right away. He captured all the days details, the perfect lighting of the day and just overall was very supportive so we could feel as comfortable as possible … and its hard when you are standing in front of the camera! Windy City Production went above and beyond the contracted terms trying to accommodate all our needs and deliver in the final product that looks perfect to us. Overall the quality of my video is amazing, the camera paths are awesome and flattering and I would highly recommend Windy City Production because first of all it’s a team of young professionals with fresh vision and understanding of how things work and look in videography nowadays. You don’t have to explain a lot, they catch the creative message right away and just implement it with ease. Such a wonderful experience having our video taken. Videographer arrived early and took great care in understanding what we wanted and then did a super job executing it. Our wedding was of mixed culture, Chinese and American Catholic, so this was especially important to us. She showed great professionalism and was enthusiastic in her work. All wed want to say is thank you!
They do not respond to communications. I understand we are in the era of a virus but a text takes less than 10 seconds to text a client back when you havent answered emails or returned phone calls for over 10 days and the wedding is a month away. Sorry for the review but, I would not recommend them to anyone.
They were so wonderful on my wedding day! They were the only calm I had while I was getting ready. Everyone in my family told me that day that they were the best photographers they have ever seen. Definitely recommend!

2022-05-01Katie is an amazing person to work with. Not only was I completely sold on her photos (our venue had shown us some of her work) but she was also incredibly easy to work with. She is organized and has a great system for taking care of her customers. Unfortunately my wedding was canceled and Katie was gracious about refunding my deposit, which none of my other vendors did. Not only do I highly recommend Windy city production, but I hope one day Ill be able to use their services in the future!

2019-10-08I cannot express how pleased I am to have picked the best photography company out there. Katie and Sam were just a pleasure to speak with at all times. You can see the excitement in their faces just talking about their passion. Our photographer Jaime was AMAZING, BRILLIANT, EXCELLENT, FUNNY, and just a GREAT person to be around. He fit so well into the family vibe and even speaks Spanish! (I am of Hispanic background) Jaime payed attention to every little detail. If I left the room for any reason he would come looking for me just to make sure he wasnt missing anything important. My husband and I are not the most photogenic people so we were worried about close ups. Let me tell you what. After looking at the pictures we received I am just blown away by how amazing we look. I mean in tears by just how perfect they all are. My wedding day was the best day of my life, excluding the birth of my daughter of course, and these pictures show exactly how great my husband and I felt that day. Again, so many positives things I can say about this company and their thrive for perfection.

2019-09-26Sam and Katie are by far the best photographers weve ever worked with. Theyre so friendly and truly care about capturing your special day so you can look back on it for years to come. We used them as our wedding photographer in October 2018 and Ive recommended them to all of my friends, many who have used them since as well. They recently offered a free mini session to all of their past clients, and we were able to take our first family photos with our new addition. 2021-05-03I cannot say enough kind things about both Katie and Sam. Our wedding (like many others) was affected by the pandemic - we made 4 date changes. Each and every single time that we had to change our date, they accommodated us with no questions asked. When it got to be time to have our final phone meeting, Katie really made sure to pay close attention to the details we wanted which I cant accurately express how much I appreciated that. It was just a huge weight off of my shoulders. Fast forward to the day of, they showed up early and ready to go(which again, I appreciate so much). They helped guide us and our bridal party to make sure that we got the best photos and video possible and let me tell you - when we did receive them (which was incredibly quick also), we were blown away. Both the pictures and our video are absolutely stunning and everything we could have hoped for. It captures the day perfectly and we will be able to relive that day forever. 2018-05-14Windy City was recommended to me by our wedding planner. Ill admit, I had some doubts at first due to some delayed responses from the owner, Katie. I realized though...theyre busy and a thriving business, and that is a good thing! It all worked out, because our photographer and videographer were AMAZING. Jaime was our photographer, and we loved him so much. His personality lit up the room, and he was so easy to work with. He made the day (and even the time we spent with him over the phone before the big day) so seamless. He worked with our crazy schedule the day of, and the pictures turned out beautifully! We were so happy with him. Natalie was our videographer. First, never skimp on video. Youll be so glad you have that to look back on. Second, consider yourself lucky if Natalie is your videographer. She captured such perfect moments, and was so easy to work with as well. I still am getting compliments from our guests on both Jaime & Natalie. They all said how awesome they were. Overall, very happy with how it all turned out!

2019-05-14If I could give more than five stars I would. A few years back I saw the video and pictures that Windy City Productions captured of a friends sisters wedding and fell in love with their work. When it came time to plan our own wedding I immediately wanted to sit down with them to see what more of their work looked like. As soon as we met with Katie I was so excited (and not just because she had her fur babies with her in the office that day, that was just a huge plus). Their work speaks for itself. We got married on May 3 of this year. Katie was our lead photographer and she had a second shooter with her as well as a videographer. The day was seamless. From the moment they arrived they were quick, professional, and so easy and fun to work with. I knew our pictures and video were going to be extradorinaiy just by the amount of work and heart they put into each shot that day. Im pretty sure my husband wanted to kill me because I kept talking about how excited I was to see their work when we were on our honeymoon. True to their word, we received our wedding video yesterday, only 10 days after the wedding, it is beyond beautiful. My entire family and friends are in awe of their work. Our wedding pictures are just about completed and I cannot wait. Their work speaks for itself, but meeting them, talking to them, and working with them is the real treat. You will feel so at ease and have a lot of fun, as you should on your wedding day! 2020-11-10Katie and Sam did our wedding photos and shot out wedding video and they came out so perfect! We were amazed at how well they came out and Sam and Katie met all of the things that we wanted. We just recently did our second free Christmas shoot with them and I talked to Katie about maybe(hopefully) doing my maternity photos as I keep comparing all other photographers to them and none come close! We are so happy we choose them for our big day and we wouldn’t change a thing! They are the best and you will be 100% satisfied with them!

2021-10-05Katie has been so amazing to work with. We were a unique situation from the very start and Katie ALWAYS worked with us, was flexible, and made us feel so at ease with the entire process. We were planning a wedding from out of state and that alone was hard. Katie walked us through everything we needed. During our wedding planning I got pregnant and because of a high risk pregnancy we had to push our wedding date. Katie was so wonderful and agreed to hold our deposit and move the services to a future date. A few months after my babies were born, COVID bit and our wedding planning came to a complete halt. It is now Oct. 2021 and after reaching back out to Katie, she has offered to return our deposit in full !!! This is unheard of and we are so incredibly grateful to have had someone so understanding and kind to work with. I would recommend Katie and her team 100% and hope we get to work with her again.

2021-09-03Katie and Sam were amazing to work with! Unfortunately, my fiancé and I had to postpone our wedding due to unforeseen circumstances, they were very understanding and made sure to refund us. During this stressful time it was very nice to actually have a vendor that was so nice and understanding. We cant wait to work with them in the future when we get married.

2021-09-30I hate to leave this negative review (and will remove it if we receive any communication soon) because leading up to and the day of our wedding on June 5, 2021, we had a great experience and day!We were SO excited that Katie was still available to shoot our wedding even after we had to postpone it a year.About two weeks after our wedding, we received the first cut of our video and were asked to send in our final 2-3 song choices that could be added. We sent over our song choices the very next day.Four months later, we haven’t received our final video, the raw footage or any communication from Katie/Windy City Production (WCP).My husband and I have sent multiple emails and texts asking for an update and a status on things, and have received no response.I’m a communications/PR manager for a health care system and can completely understand and empathize with how busy things have been for the last year and a half. But WCP’s marketing boasts (and our contract states) a two-week turnaround. We’d be more understanding of not meeting that deadline but there has been no two-way communication or replies to our repeated requests.We’d love to receive the final video and our raw footage, and finally share it with our family and friends that traveled near and far to celebrate with us. Our wedding was extremely centered on our loved ones, including my husband’s late father, and we’d like to relive those special moments again with them soon.
