Whole Foods Market in other cities:
I could always find what I am looking for at this Whole Foods. A great place to find options for Vegans. The egg alternative here does a nice job when baking vegan treats and plenty of fresh produce to create a healthy meal. The staff here is also knowledgeable and work hard to answer question or to look for specific items.
I find it shocking that a store which bases its image on healthy foods is so thoughtless with our planet. When will they be getting rid of plastic containers for bulk items and plastic bags for produce? Do you not believe in climate change? When will you do your part? So disappointing.
The standards here are pretty low. My impression is that they were understaffed and hired pretty much anyone and it shows. This location has a pretty good selection for a small store, sometimes stuff I havent even seen in a bigger store, particularly hot food/take out items. But the quality of some of the staff is pretty low and not very competent.
Whole foods is a very organized and trusted store. They always have everything clean and their staff is always helpful and never seem stressed. I dont know whats in their water but I think Ill take a sip of the fountain when Im there next. Hahaha! Im always happy to be a repeat customer to a trusted store, You really cant go wrong here, especially if you have a gift card 😍
Great whole foods, amazing staff and meat/seafood/veg is always fresh. Lately theyve been having shortages, notably in the veg dept but theres usually enough stuff to find alternates. Updated 12/11/21. Update 2/9/22 shortages mostly gone, havent really been seeing empty shelves.
The places hiring standards have indeed stooped to new lows. Example:What do you want !? - I was literally yelled at from across the meat counter. Taken by surprise, I yelled back Whats your problem ? That seemed to tame him down, judging by the relatively civil demeanor of the rest of the transaction. Frustrated slender relatively short character, one can blame only those who hired him, star for them.
It needs to be known how understaffed this location is. Do not come unless you’re prepared to wait 20-30 min in line. The entire staff has overturned recently so it’s dependent on new employees to learn on the fly which is not their fault but makes things come to a crawl. This is the least efficient, fewest options, least well kept Whole Foods in the cityPlease improve it and push it back up to the standards this location held only a couple years back.
One of the larger Whole Foods in the City with one of the best staff in the Wrigleyville area. Always clean and stocked continuously with fresh produce and all of your grocery needs to satisfy all diet disciplines on the spectrum. Its conviently located just one block behind the lconic legendary landmark Wrigley Field in boystown on Chicagos north side which provides a safe environment for all.
Why does it constantly take nearly 20 minutes to check out here? Why does the staff allow people to blatantly ignore the signs that say 15 items or fewer? Why is the coffee bar permanently closed? Also, not everyone who wants a meal from the hot bar is a vegetarian. And a serving of mashed potatoes shouldn’t have this much garlic in it good grief.
I got food poisoned from the pork chops I bought from them a day ago.( I even called and spoke to the butcher before I grilled them because I didnt like the slimy texture of the meatHe reassured me that its normal andni should just washed them in cold water .Well.... )The ribbeye steaks lately way off too.Nothing close to the old days WF quality.Whatever they call and they sell as dry aged rib eye is a disgrace.I live close by but I have to give up convenience and look somewhere else for quality.Very disappointed.
I dont understand why one of the richest companies in the world cant afford to install self-checkout or hire a few more cashiers. In peak times, it can easily take 30-45 minutes to check out. Ironically, you can get in and out at the local Jewel basically right away. Id avoid this location.
Probably the worst Whole Foods I’ve ever been to. Chronically understaffed. After waiting in a long line to purchase my items, the cashier messed up and then couldn’t process a return. Made me wait in an even longer line for customer service to process it. One of the worst shopping experiences I’ve ever had.
This is my neighborhood WF and it has gone down in services and selections. And they cant blame it on the Covid which they always do. I think Bezos needs to do a walk through or talk to manager and find out why: a) the grab & go prepared foods is practically empty. More and more when I go to that section, there are no sandwiches made. You go to the counter and ask if they can make sandwiches and they say no because of Covid.b) Hard to find my favorite dairy products because the shelves arent stocked to the fullest. They should have a Section in the store (which is small compared to the others) New Items like Trader Joes has. Whenever TJ introduces new foods they have a special shelf where you can buy it. Go to WF and you look for your old favorite and its replaced or its not on the shelf.Whenever there are long lines I wish it was like the other WF stores that have self-checkout. Often the cashiers have to lookup the prices or codes on an item....why? Im just saying, the store needs to be audited or monitored for operation. If the surrounding grocery stores are up to speed, so should WF be. I did notice theyre recruiting at $15/hr, so maybe theyre having problems getting help and management?
Smaller than other WFM locations nearby. Ive usually felt that the assortment is much poorer here compared to other locations. Havent been impressed with the packaged goods or produce here. Visited a couple of times but ended up not being able to get everything I wanted. Will probably not go here unless I have no other choice.
Not my fav Whole Foods as its a little cramped and selection is a little smaller than other locations (especially in the Produce Department). The cashiers here are friendly and mostly quick. The biggest downside is the clientele who walk around the store oblivious to those around them (esp. aggravating with Covid-19). Ill keep coming here though as its super convenient to where I live.
Most of the employees are friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. I especially like the vegan muffins. Its great that some of the prices are going down. Some items like the So individual cartons of milk beverage for $8.99 is way over the top. Only rich kids can go to school with that beverage, not mine.
Yayyy go here! I love it here! There are cool things to eat and everyone is nice! And also it is close to my house so if you want to cook me something and bring it over thats cool too! When it comes to staples this place is a little pricey but the location is great and the produce is great and the prepared foods are delicious and the deli people are lovely and let you try lots of things if you are indecisive and force deli people to talk to you a lot more than they probably secretly want to like I do. Oh and there are lots of fun booze and soda choices.
Delicious food, fresh produce, clean and easy layout. My one complaint regarding Whole Foods is the employees - though I don’t want to make broad sweeping statements about the general type of person they hire. I will say that customer experience is far from any of their concern. Based on my few interactions with associates it’s clear that the customer experience and the style of customer service are not of the utmost importance to Whole Foods
Unbelievable horrible experience. Even for a Whole Foods. Customer service is awful. Cashiers do not realize what it means to actually do their job. 90% Snowflake millennials who demand RESPECT. If you bring your own bag, forget about them bagging your groceries- that is your job. Not theirs. They get paid to do give you attitude. Overall Prissy, pretentious workers that are most definitely better than YOU. I mean, this is the highest quality store there is. This last experience was my last. Was asked to remove items from my basket, bc otherwise it is disrespectful to not do so, even BEFORE I placed the basket on the belt. However, this is highly significant cashier cannot be disrespected. I do realize that.
The baguettes here arent quite as good as other locations. The staff is incredibly friendly [and easy on the eyes! ;@)] I love grabbing a bottle of wine and some snacks and hanging out next door at the Center with friends. The parking garage is nice, however you have to use the elevator to re-enter the garage. Great location, great products, great service.
Store is clean and theres a variety of options but dont forget your wallet. Touchless pay options never work here. Both times Ive gone here and attempted to pay with Google Pay and Samsung Pay, it does not work. This is coming from someone who uses phone payment options every day and as a primary payment method.
Probably my least favorite Whole Foods in the city! Their hot food/prepared foods section is very sad and lacking. There is also no real seating if you wanted to sit down and eat your food there. The parking lot is also confusing because there are huge signs that say you need to get your parking validated but there is really no ticket to get and nothing to get validated!
Employees must be overworked or/and undertrained. Came to buy some cheese that was one sale and customer service lady assumed from the bat that I didnt scan my prime membership, then realized that their system didnt pick up the discount. Once they process the discount manually they still didnt enter the right price and I just realized that at home. Joke on me.
Food selection is a little lacking here. Food quality is great. The place is exceptionally clean and Ive had good luck with the staff. They are not competitively priced. I shopped here more than I should more because of the convenience factor. It was a block away from my old apartment. You will find much better prices and comparable products at Trader Joes or Marianos.
The only reason I’m dredging up three stars is because they USED to be great before COVID. I’m sorry but if I have to shell out a hundred bucks for a bag and a half of groceries, YOU can open more than four of your 15 registers. No one controlling the line outside, total chaos inside. One way aisles only work if there aren’t TWENTY people in each line backing into the yogurt in the back of the store. Checkout line opens and the cashier just lets a free for all ensue! This is being run poorly and dangerously. I left a small cart and walked out - won’t be back to this one til management gets a grip.
A little small and a few items that can be found at other Whole Foods are not carried here. However, I do think they have a little bit more organic produce as compared to other smaller sized Whole Foods stores I have shopped. Also, the staff is exceptional and special note to seafood counter team.
Ive never had a problem here, I love Whole Foods and this location is nice to have close to home. The store is a bit smaller, so my only complaint would be that they dont always have everything I need. I buy mostly organic produce and sometimes they only have conventional of certain items that I need... Everyone is always very helpful :)
While I find that all Whole Foods stores are a little different, my experience has been that asking the Customer Service Desk to bring something to this store that I saw at another Whole Foods works. The store is clean and the staff is extremely helpful. I really love that they sample alot of the products from various areas in the store and that they bring in local vendors for you to try. This place can actually be budget friendly if you purchase the Whole Foods, non-organic products.
Five star rating is 100% because of the staff at this Whole Foods location. They have always been really helpful if I need a recommendation for a product or need help locating something. Their staff at the check-out line is always chatty, and some have even offered some great recipe suggestions. I also love that I can round up to the nearest dollar to donate to a local charity. Its such an easy way to give back, and I appreciate that they always ask.
I was here today to buy food for the holidays. The quality of the meats and veggies were impressive. Yes the prices were high but I expected that. My only complaint was the horrible, acid rock music blaring from the music system. I wasn’t expecting a Zen experience here but I also didn’t think I’d walk into a rock concert. Had this not happened, I would be rating higher.
Normally I wouldnt give a review based on one poor experience but this is an exception. While a convenient location, this Whole Foods is on the smaller side, and its selection more limited than some of the other stores. But unfortunately I will not return here simply because on my last visit, the hamburgers I purchased from the butcher section had a giant fly embedded in between two of the pre-made patties (the package was sealed at the store upon purchase, so flies must have been in the butchering area and/or the meat case). I only discovered this upon preparing them for cooking, and was thoroughly disgusted. I had to throw them all out, and as everyone knows, Whole Foods prices are not cheap. Normally Id leave a one-star review for something like this, but I chose not to return and talk to customer service, who would likely have rectified the situation. After all, issues like this do happen. However, there are lots of alternative grocery stores around, so I will simply choose to not set foot in a place with questionable hygenic standards.
This is definitely the worse WF market i have been to.i have received attitud from the cashiers mulpiplevtimes . Very poor customer service here like no other supermarket chain in the city of Chicago. If the managers dont pay attention i see this particular location closed.
Do you like paying 4.99 for old, moldy bread? Then come here! Its great! Dont worry, theyll give you a refund! ;DIm writing this review in response to buying old bread from this location MULTIPLE times. They just leave the bagles, pita bread, etc. out to rot, until its moldy in the bags. The only reason I come to this store is for superior quality control, which the inflated prices supposedly pay for. Nope! Turns out its just a crappy overpriced grocery store. AVOID.
Whole Foods used to be my grocer of choice, until I moved. The food is the best, and I know Im always getting quality natural ingredients. The only downside is the cost, which is infamously exorbitant. I believe the quality is worth it, but I cant afford to shop here weekly.
This whole foods is right down the middle. It doesnt have as large of a cafe selection to eat on the spot as most others, but it has all the essentials.Dont expect any of them to know a thing about gardening. Three times I went in looking for organic pesticides and nobody could give me a straight answer about what was appropriate.
This store, never that great since it opened, has deteriorated substantially since Amazon took over. They are often out of things, and the customer service is arrogant and unhelpful. I bought a roast chicken recently that was so burned it was inedible, with black skin and meat that was like sawdust. The roast chickens are packaged in such a way that you cant really see what they look like until you open them. Whoever packaged it had to have known it was inedible, but did it anyway. Whatever Amazon is gaining in savings by paying less attention to the quality of its food and service, it is losing by turning away customers like me.
The Trudeau battery milk frother is Great. The Dried Mangos btp (by the pound) and lots of stuff that’s by the pound is great. And the pour out how much want peanut butter is great. Whole Foods return/exchange policy is good.Let’s all not forget to RECYCLE old items , separate by type. Recycle old remotes (just separate screws off) recycle women’s cleaned plastic tampons , kids toys , rinsed tuna cans ...everything.Let’s save the planet together !What else would you be spending your time on!!Probably one half of your possessions can be recycled . Don’t forget that . Saving the planet does take energy - and our kids can have a green planet. Only ten percent recycle. Don’t be that Douchebag. You live in Chicago too!
A smaller Whole Foods in Lakeview. Not much room to sit and eat like some Whole Foods in other parts of the city. But the stock is decent and theres always a good selection of fresh stuff, beers, cheeses, and other tasty things you cant find at the other grocery stores.
Its a Christmas miracle! Dallas at Whole Foods Market really made my day! We called there to see if my phone had been turned in and he went above and beyond and helped me learn how to track my phone using google and helped me get it to ring while I hunted it down! He was so so friendly and helpful and really went the extra mile when he didnt have to
Whole foods is a really top quality shop with a huge range of culinary utensils and foods all of the highest standard. every saturday there are some delicious free samples which entice you to loosen your belt and break your weakly budget. if you are ever cooking to impress i would get your stuff from here.
Fewer organics than other Whole Foods Markets, including those in MA where I moved from in August, 2015. Bakery initially had NO items whatsoever that had whole wheat or any whole grain as the first ingredient! Recently, I noticed one item there that did! Thats inexcusable.Meats at Whole Foods are all now rated as to whether they are grass fed, truly free range, fed only non-GMO foods, etc. Virtually NONE at this store are top of the line. Organic doesnt mean everything! For example, the best chickens are allowed to roam freely and eat grubs, wild plants, seeds, in addition to organic feed. Free range can simply mean that they have a small area to wander a little in, but no access to the outside world, grubs, etc.Conventional foods, unless they are the 360 brand can have GMO ingredients in them, and likely pesticide residues as well. I asked an employee and thats what I was told!Very disappointing, but this is my closest Whole Foods Market and, in fact, my closest supermarket! Prices, unless items are on sale, are too high, especially given the other shortcomings!
VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED in my first visit to this location. I didnt make it past the first aisle, put the cart back and walked to another store. Went in specifically for bulk foods. All the basics were empty or barely had any product. No employees around to ask for assistance. Second nothing available to write the PLU # of the items I wanted to purchase. Was surprised at the lack of cleanliness at this location. Have been in other WF locations and found them all to be spotless. I would be hesitant to purchase anything that was not pre-packaged from here. Even with that, double check the expiration date! Unfortunately they need to you only get one chance to make a first impression. Chances are I wont be back.
***update****Months later the eggs still dont taste like eggs. Did reach out to Whole Foods but change wont occur. Gonna go to ihop for breakfast insteadI was wondering....what fillers do they use for the eggs because they dont taste like eggs....it taste like fluffy yellow air? smhI come here often because I work in the area...the staff are very nice they pretty much know me by now....however sometimes the food station lacks in flavor....also extremely dry and crusty at times......also would like more low carb options in the hot stationOtherwise...fix the egg situation....it taste like it came out the box or something
I am fed up! I have emailed corporate to no avail. I have written a note and put it in the comment card to no avail. The mirrors when leaving the parking ramp are EXTREMELY scratched to the point it looks as if they are made of aluminum foil - not that it matters because they dont even face the sidewalk. This is EXTREMELY dangerous as you cannot see anyone walking by and can easily hurt somebody. In fact, I have walked by and almost been hit by another car as they were exiting before. This is outrageous and unsafe and they choose to do nothing about it! They need new mirrors that allow exiting cars to see the sidewalk that they cannot due to the exit ramp going up a hill and completely cutting off view or a flashing light that lights up as cars are leaving like many other ramps(not even going up a steep hill) have. The audacity to respond and say I need to email them? I have! Unbelievable!
I purchased two rice bowl meals from the Asian Avenue food counter. The menu listings are misleading. The rice bowl with chicken katsu was flavorless and contained only a few shredded pieces of chicken. The bibimbap bowl also contained only a few shreds of chicken. The major point is that the chicken was not prepared katsu style. Maybe I am wrong but Katsu means panko-breaded chicken. The chicken that was put into the two bowls I received was taken from pot of stew. I know it is fast food but dont mislead the customer.
This is a repost from my Yelp account. Feff really does deserve the props. Stephanie (Feff) in the flower department designed the floral arrangements for our centerpieces and the bouquets for our wedding and she knocked it out of the park. Here designs included all of my wifes favorite flowers in the colors scheme we picked for our wedding decor. My wife and I made geometric shapes for each of the tables and Stephanie filled them with such care and proportion. Her attention to detail for the bridal party bouquet was stunning. The boutonnieres were perfect too. She even went one step further and hand delivered our flowers down the block to our venue. Thanks Feff

2022-04-04I recently went to the Whole Foods in my neighborhood of Chicago at 3640 N Halsted St. I had the most unpleasant experience with one of the nighttime Cashiers at around 8pm on Sunday night. She was extremely rude to me right from the start. This location recently installed self-checkout machines, but I knew I had a few more items than I usually do. So, I rely on a cashier who can bag the items appropriately. I had maybe 15 items and the only open two checkout lanes with a Cashier were flashing their lights and already had a long line. I went to another counter in the store that I had previously checked out multiple times (the flower - amazon counter). There was no one else in line before me or behind me but the lady was extremely rude and said, for future reference this line is only for 10 items or less and continued to have a hostile tone when asking if I used Amazon Prime and needed bags for my groceries and said she couldnt reach my items from a certain area of the counter. I dont know if its the end of her shift and she had a long day, but you do not treat people like that. I also didnt see the sign that said 10 items or less and when she viewed my basket, she could have let me know beforehand before she started scanning the items. She was very rude and classless. That being said. I do not usually shop here only because it is down the street from me. I will be going to Jewel Osco and Marianos from now one. I would encourage you to train your employees better, maybe like how Trader Joes does, theyre always so pleasant to be around.

2022-06-25I have had better service at the dollar store than at customer service with Jacob. He looks and behaves like he just got off a 2 week bender. I do not feel safe or comfortable talking to him.

2022-06-25Is used to be a nice place with wonderful people. It used to be a great experience : you chatted with a butcher, you exchanged news with a baker, you asked how cashier was doing and what was new. If you needed any product you just asked.Right now it is a hostile store with lazy, rude, slow, unfriendly employees who could not care less. They have no idea why they are there ot what they are doing

2022-06-13This is one complete woke leftist sick disgusting place. You can not see a normal person at this location. Majority of people (including employees) are pink/purple hair, face piercings, question genders, STILL masked with woke political messages on masks, absolutely disgusting place… doing my best to avoid shipping here but unfortunately I live in the area. This is sad reality how one brainwashed sick decline society looks like….

2022-07-02Staff is so nice! And also, they have one of those machines that grinds fresh peanut butter for you! Peanut, honey peanut, and almond grinders, I believe.

2022-06-10Just come here to do pickup orders. Never had a line that lasted longer than 3 minutes. Easy process. Clean store.

2022-01-02I do like this Whole Foods Store because of the excellent selection of meats. Yes, they do cost a bit more than other grocery stores but we shouldnt expect them to be cheap because thats not why people go here. I appreciate the extra time the clerk takes in helping me choose the best cut of meats for my diet.

2022-07-10Ordered a slice of plain cheese pizza. Tasted like a cheap oily cheese was used, as opposed to a nice choice of cheese with a slight sprinkle of quality EVOO. Disappointed.
