Stopped here a few times when traveling west in an rv. It’s located across the street from a truck stop. Very convenient location and rv and semi friendly. The section of the parking lot near the gas pumps is reserved for overnight parking, the rest of the lot has signs saying no overnight parking.
Vision center is FANTASTIC! This was my first time scheduled appointment. So pleased. Every person I dealt with was wonderful. Phyllis checked me in and was so pleasant and charming. Dr. Hohenbary was thorough and made exam so nice. Lance was so helpful getting my glasses ordered and just what I needed. I found my new provider.
If I could give you a 0 I would!!! Bought a chicken for Thanksgiving, go to cook it.. its BLACK !! and my hole house smelled like death for HOURS!! I HAVE PICTURES TO!!your lucky I didnt bring it to your counter like I wanted to, but my husband wouldnt let me .. I will NEVER buy Walmart food again
My fiancé and I had a flat tire while we were traveling. The automotive department at this Walmart was so helpful. Sterling went out of his way to make sure we got the tires we wanted at the correct price. Our tires were put on very quickly and we were back on the road. What a great experience
This was a beautiful super center. Very clean and well cared for. As usual, the girl that checked us out was only there for a paycheck. Its really hard to find Associates that love people and act like it. Mostly they barely acknowledge the customer and forget about any kind of conversation.
They are almost always sold out of 1/3 of the items in the store, their meats are often turning grey and their frozen goods looks like a blizzard blew through it; ice build up on products and shelves is insane. Almost nothing being done to enforce public health mandates either, even employees in the /pharmacy/ are unable to follow proper mandates. Shocking.
Not the best Walmart, they were great when they were open 24 hours but have really fell off in the past year. They are always out of at least 1 or more items were needing when we go. They also like to stock the shelves and take up room in the aisles (blocking off product) during busy hours. The cashiers are usually pretty friendly. The pharmacy area is good. Electronics is usually good and easy to find someone.
Walmart was clean, there was some things out of stock in some places, but for the most part well stocked. Staff was courteous and helpful. Items were easy to find. I had to find olives, they were with pickles rather than other vegetables, but all other items on my list were easy to find.
I stopped going inside Walmart stores this February 2021. I will order from them online but will not go into the stores. I get my prescriptions there because they have curbside service. That has not been the case the last three times Ive been there and I had to go inside which I do not like. Considering changing all my prescriptions over to Walgreens because they have a drive-thru.
Understand updates have to be done but damn put the merchandise where you can see and find what your looking for and purchase. Also when a person has big bags of animal food dont have the cashier ask you want me to scan them in the cart. Sure let me lift it again on to the belt and put them back in the cart for you. Its why I put the scan codes towards you.
Im not a fan of Walmart in general(doesnt matter the location, as a lot of my complaints apply to various stores..) Typically out of ALL the check out lanes, only about 4-5 are ever open and thus the lines are obnoxiously long! As in, on average a person can wait up to 20+min before being checked out. Their Self Checkouts rarely work properly and are also always so busy that getting assistance when it malfunctions can take just as long as a regular checkout lane would! Trying to find help while shopping in any of the various departments is always a hassle.. All in all, I only shop at any Wal-Mart if I absolutely have no choice
As for Walmarts go, this one is huge and has a large selection of nearly everything one would expect Walmart to supply. With both end self checkouts, getting in and out is very convenient. Employees seemed helpful enough, so if in the Effingham IL area, this Walmart is a good one to find what is needed. Plenty of parking for all vehicles, even semis.
Maybe it was because I was an obvious out of towner but never again would I enter this walmart!!We stopped in this Walmart to pick up a few things on our way to see my grandson graduate from Navy Bootcamp and noticed an amazing clearance (unlike any we see in CS Tx) so naturally scooped up many sale items, being seasoned Walmart shopper I walked for more possible clearance and was immediately tagged to be watched by employees, ok no biggie, but because the lack of cashiers was in self checkout and immediately had a CSM watch my every transaction (maybe they should have opened a register so I didnt have to do check out) but whatever, so as I scanned the last 2 items and was attempting to open another bag to put items in the employee loudly asked me if I paid for those last 2 items! What ? I mean thought you were watching. But I informed her that of course I did as the line was getting longer but her comment was I will have to make sure and looked at my whole purchase then apologized for making a scene. Really!? I ask why was I singled out? Because I was new to this Walmart? Because I had a disability? Or that I was with my Hispanic friend? Makes one wonder....
Very rude, empty shelves, products priced wrong. Things have NOT CHANGED HERE. Products scan different from the shelf price and when you bring it to the attention of staff standing there the response from someone being paid by Walmart to do a job is YOU HAVE A PICTURE OF THE PRICE TAG? Since when does the CUSTOMER work for Walmart? The key word in the sentence is CUSTOMER. Thats why they have a job
The site to store set up is not efficent. I scanned my phone at the kiosk and waited and waited. I pushed the help button after 4-5 minutes, and waited and waited. After waiting several minutes later, I pushed the help button again. And waited again. I asked three different associates to call for help. The third one did. My items were brought out of somewhere, but not the lockers designed for that. It was so much more practical when you simply went to the service desk and showed your pickup request.
Love the grocery pick up feature. The loaders used with the grocery pick up have all been great - helpful and careful when handling the products. Generally, they stock most items I want though not all and seem to consistently run out of some things. Over the past year or two, the store seems cleaner and “better” kept providing a more pleasant shopping experience.
Good experience, first time back inside since the thick of the pandemic, the social distancing habits have increased the overall flow and made shopping more pleasent. I wish there was a navigation page on the Walmart App, would really help those who want to make a more effiecent trip through the store!
Love the self check-out! Its so convenient and much easier. Ive been a cashier since I was 16 (now 32) so its much faster for me to do it myself. Only downfall was the shelves in the food department werent stocked very well at all. Many empty spaces and its usually never like that.
I normally have zero trouble at this Walmart. I think most of the store is on point. Great management. However, a friendly suggestion to Walmart would be to address their employee Dave in the gun department. He has been so rude to us. The first time I let it go, but the very next time he was still extremely rude. He acts like we are wasting his time and is so inconvenienced by us wanting to purchase something. Maybe he hates guns and Walmart should look into changing the department he works in.
Went thru drive thru & ordered 3 dinners:1) 3 pcs of Atlantic Cod w/mashed potatoes & coleslaw2) 10 pcs Jumbo Shrimp w/mashed potatoes & coleslaw3) Roast Beef w/fries & coleslawWe all greatly enjoyed our meals even though we had 2 wait a little longer then your typical fast food but we wud gladly do it again. Very flavorful, warm, & enough 2 make u satisfied.Also ordered strawberry & chocolate shakes which the guys LOVED. I ordered a vanilla malt & it was scrumptious!!U really want 2 bring the family here or get take outs. Very clean outside, plenty of parking, employees were very helpful & kind. Just Go For It!!!
Ordered a ice maker on their app, was told it was still in warranty, and they said they would send a return label within 48 hours, 2 weeks later no label and the customer service representative hung up on me 3 times, very Poor service,Ticket number- 5992023-586141Very unprofessional and wrong
I like shopping at Wal-Mart, but I do have a complaint. I had your auto area order 4 tires and they came in today. But were the wrong size. So I had to buy different ones you had there and found out the guy couldnt get one to mount, so told him to get ram out of the bed. Then he couldnt get a rim off to change it. We got there 20 till noon and didnt get out of there for 4 hours. The guy who was doing was one nobody likes because he is to slow. Dont know his name.
Very nice to see a Walmart Super Center, Effingham, IL well staff with WalMart associates all of them where outstanding, pleasant and all had smiles on their faces, very big difference compare to the Walmarts in Orlando you cant find an associate on the store like you do here, Walmart make sure you keep them and pay them well. For sure Ill be back in the near future to purchase more items. 👍👌
Not sure what they are doing to this Walmart but its a mess! Cant find anything here. It looks like they are moving stuff around. But they have more than one area with the same things in them. Hard to find anything. Highly disappointed in most of the Walmart stores anymore.
Theyre always out of my favorite things. There are always several carts with boxes all over in the way with employees trying tho put things away as people are shopping. Im sure its as bad for the employees as it is for the customers. I shouldnt have to walk all the way down the cold aisle to cross over to the main aisles! I absolutely hate going here and if Meyer ever comes youll have to step it up here!
Ordered tires online. FedEx delivered. This store “misplaced” my tires. After calling them 4 times, and a 29 minute phone call (27 mins on hold) they finally found them. Came in within a half hour to get them put on. They wrote up the ticket then after waiting 10 mins they come find me and tell me they are too busy to put my tires on. Had they done their job, I would have been here earlier. I dislike this store so much, I don’t know why I still shop here at all. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
While there are more in choices here than the surrounding smaller Walmarts, the problem is still the same. Half of the check out lanes are open. Most of which are self service. Depending on the time frame you go in, you might have both ends open, or youll only have one half open which is usually the Marketside half. Then you have to hear all the crabby Karens and Kens who are waiting in the lines, which are backed up passed the clothing and jewelry section because there are only a few stations open to checkout. Either way you go, its a Walmart. No better, no less.
The in store experience is to be expected with any busy Walmart super center. However the new pickup option is a game changer! Order my groceries online in five minutes schedule a convenient time to pick them up. Pull up and within two minutes my groceries have been loaded in my car and I’m in my way home. This new service has changed my opinion on Walmart greatly.
I come away from this store in a bad mood every time! Middle of the afternoon, busy with lots of elderly shoppers and only THREE checkers open! The lines for those checkers stretched across the front aisles. I could use the self checkout but its the principle of the thing. Its not like Wal-Mart offers you a savings to scan and sack your own stuff so why do we enable this practice?
I go to this Walmart because it is the closest to where I live. The staff is nice and I get my cat food and litter here and fresh flowers and reasonable prices on food, etc. Next to Dollar Tree, this is my favorite place to shop. I can even get up to $100.00 cash from my credit card without a fee, if I buy at least one thing.
Finding carts for the disabled is difficult. The employees treat us like we dont exist. They constantly cut people off without even an excuse me. They block ailes and stand around talking and dont move till the customer says something. Its gotten so bad I just.hate going to Wal-Mart.
The store is getting one star because it has a wider variety than other Walmarts in the surrounding area. Having said that, they almost never have the Great Value brand or Equate brand of anything in stock! We went in on a Friday night and had over $150 worth of groceries but only the self checkouts were open and the speed lane had a human but that was only for return items!! I saw over 20 people working throughout the store but the girl in the self checkout said that this is how checkouts were run every evening/night.... absurd!!!
Apparently they decided to close the home entrance and make everyone use the grocery entrance. Nothing out front but a sign on door, so everyone that didnt notice and parked where you would normally got to walk the length of the building. And if you needed the pharmacy or automotive (automotive doors were also locked), you got the walk all the way back to the closed entrance.
Weve stopped here a number of times for supplies when traveling. Its a quick drive from any hotel youd likely consider in Effingham. Everything at this Walmart location is an par with other similar Walmart locations. Weve never had any issues. The sandwiches from the deli have always been fresh and weve been able to find pretty much anything weve expected to find at Walmart.
Not exactly a friendly Walmart. I was by the waters and this employee asked me if he could help me. I said no and he stared at me in a weird way. I asked him if there was something wrong and he said he asked me if he could help me. He then said my bad. I didnt hear you. The thing that made this weird is the haunting expression on his face. He stared at me intently while I was shopping. It was as if he was telling me I didnt belong there. I see why this is a lower rated Walmart.
This Walmart store has trouble keeping even the basics in stock. Today I went for salt. Simple you might think, but not here. They had NO salt. The shelf was completely bare. All they had was kosher or fancy salts in grinders.AND they dont keep products pulled forward so if you are a short shopper you are out of luck unless you have learned to bring your grabber with you to the store.
First time coming here for a pretty big purchase I needed to do and I noticed woah this place is really busy upon arriving after a 3 hour journey. Now I know why. The store is extremely well ran by the store manager and Chad the assistant manager and the staff for the great customer service, organized inventory, cleanliness, etc. Brody really went above and beyond great measures in staying persistent helping me find everything I needed while assisting other customers. Many staff members in my experience would of easily claimed they didn’t have any in stock and went about they’re way. That was greatly appreciated. Another thing I want to quickly mention is how well the store manager and Chad treats the customers. If they are able to assist you anyway they can, they most likely will and if they are unable to for what ever reason they explain it in a professional manner with out the condescending attitude. Very satisfied with my shopping experience here and definitely will be back.
Congratulations Walmart you have convinced the American public to work for you for free. What you are doing is completely despicable. The self check out lane is not convenient unless you only have a couple items. When I have an entire cart full then I need a cashiers help. This is the final time I will be shopping at the Walmart nappingham since you cant hire humans to work there...
I will say I think the W+ is a solid idea for shopping online, the consumer knows they provided a pick order for people, In his/her community that works there fulfilling the order so that delivery can also pay drivers and package handlers. So you can finish the 4trillion other fire snuffing damage control moves thAt keep everything flowing along w/o wiping out lol!! Its a KerPlunk or Jenga world pull out from. Under to pile on top. Being able to count on Walmart, to give us W+, take care of every week/month/ automatically for as many reoccurring purchases u like you can set it to auto deliver your common must haves on the schedule u pick! But with out worry alwAys right to u free if its $35 or more!!!! (Shoot,without breakn a sweat... know what Im sayin!). ;D Good work Walmart workers thank you!
Walmart is getting really bad about making the customer do all there work. Had to reach the top shelf to get what I needed 4 times this afternoon. When I asked someone that worked the if they had anymore of the item I was looking for they told me they didnt know because it wasnt there department. Think I was start going back to a real grocery store where they check you out and keep there shelfs stocked. Walmart has lost touch with there customers.
At best Walmart Ive been inside in a while as far as merchandising pricing but the customer service in the worker there were so rude they followed me around the whole store and have reminding me every few minutes then they were closing and not just on the intercom they would come up to me!!! That matter how great this election was and how clean the store was I will not be back managers really need to get a handle on this before they lose more business
The place is on an even low point for Walmart. I hated my visit here. The people are not friendly and fain professionalism by trying to manage its customers instead of itself. I go to Walmart often but am learning on the idea of using my Amazon Prime account more because of how Walmart is starting to feel like a 3rd world nation with its Mexican style bright yellow height guards and fewer and fewer public trash containers. Im less of a fan every time I visit it.
As always there were lines, being the holiday doesnt help....but this is typical for Wal-Mart anyway. Why spend the money to install all the registers just to have them sit unused. The store manager can walk past you with his nose in the air, but there are SOME very friendly associates that make the experience worthwhile.
I was so thankful to Walmart for being open till 6 Christmas Eve, for final dinner arrangements for Christmas day. Im grateful for the staff who is always pleasant even though theyre working on a day they would prefer to have off, and that the shelves were well-stocked except the candy which is understandable, LOL.
This is my most favorite Walmart to go to. They have a very big selection compared to a lot of other Walmarts and my hometown one. I love how big their isles are and they have lots of other things I cant find at my Walmart. I like to visit here even though its an hour from where I live its worth the drive. I also like that there is a Subway inside so sometimes I eat there or pick up something for later.
I purchased a tv from Walmart and bought the professional tv mounting service for an additional $79 (you provide the tv mount). This service is scheduled through a company called Handy. This Handy company is a TERRIBLE company and I cannot believe Walmart uses/recommends them. My appointment to get the tv mounted has been cancelled late the night before the appointment 4 different times now. It’s been 4 weeks now since I bought the television and no one will show up to mount the tv, which I’ve already paid for. I have just cancelled it and asked for a refund at this point. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. And shame on you Walmart for associating yourself with this service and selling it to your customers.
Catrinna in Customer Service needs to get a new job. Think shes better suited to work at the DMV. when you present at customer service you should at least be welcome and when you redirect someone to another spot it should be done pleasantly. I was visiting today to buy some groceries and while I was walking around this round woman was talking aloud obnoxiously saying this person needs his temperature checked or that person needs her temperature checked. Its sad to see so many judgemental people openly displaying their piss poor attitudes so loudly. Like woman look at yourself to judge you not me.
We were just at the start of a long road trip when low tire pressure light came on. We pulled in a half hour before tire center was supposed to close. Brandon said, Its no problem. He and his crew found nail hole, replaced the tire, asked us whether we had a warranty, stayed over an hour and a half. Wed have surely had a flat on I-57 a few hours later had they not replaced it. Thanks Brandon and crew.
Customer service horrible! In line shopping is a hoax & wait until you drive to the store to pick up your products that were to be delivered. Take note, slow part of year, Not Christmas. Im 46, disabled. Waited for 40 minutes to receive my order back in pick up. I was their only customer. My order didnt look right. Made her open boxes & Half were missing ! She had to go search for remaining items. Mind you, I pre-paid for these on line. NIGHTMARE
Awesome as always just hate they cant get caught up on stocking up I have been trying to buy essential oils by the tarts for weeks they tell me they are just out of stock why would that be hard to get it cant be from the covid Id hope lol but gotta get my smell good stuff for my burners soon and you cant order online says in store only ☹️
I love to shop at Walmart, but not at the Effingham, Illinois location. It seems nothing is ever stocked. Almost every trip, something is not on the shelf. It seems to take so long for things to get re-stocked. This has been an issue for me, and others I have spoke to, for several years now.

2022-05-11I had tire issues after an accident. I went to effingham Walmart where they got me in right away. Tabitha got me in and A guy named Joey and Marty took charge immediately and got me back on the road. Effingham walmart tire center has some of the best workers. Prime example of team work. I was in and out in no time! Thank you!

I also recommend working here during the night shift. I began working there three weeks ago and the experience has been quite pleasant thus far.

2022-04-01Horrible horrible place to buy food! I wish we could have turned back around to return all of my groceries ! We are in a semi truck and all of my food was horrible and seemed like it was old or flash thawed. Meats were tough and chewy! I threw over $80 in food away! I’ll never stop here again! Worst Walmart ever ! Do yourself a favor and shop at an actual local market instead!!!!
