Walmart Supercenter in other cities:
Pretty darn nice now that the remodeling is completed. Its literally the exact same layout as the Crystal Lake store, so makes it easy to find things if you know that store. If you dont, then yeah, a lot of things have been moved around. Once you get used to it the store is actually so much nicer now. Feels like theres more room and more products somehow. Produce, Bakery and meat sections are super nice now with plenty of room to actually move around and shop. There are also SO MANY self checkout lanes now. Ones for if you just got a few things and, since it seems like nobody is ever there to checkout customers, they have self checkout for a large full week at a time shopper. Plenty of space to lay items out and a conveyer belt to take them down to a separate area to organize and bag those items. Its actually really nice. With Covid, I imagine more people probably prefer to use the self checkout anyway. Plus with labor shortages it does free up employees to accomplish other tasks that help keep the store stocked, organized, clean and allows for the pick-up shoppers to get more orders in a day. They really transformed this store into a what I would imagine is like a higher class, well stocked Wal-Mart with more options and selections to choose from.
Finally found a Wal-Mart that looks like a pre- Covid Wal-Mart. What do I mean by that?...there were actually items on all the shelves!! I had to drive to this location just to get basic items that I have not been able to find at 3 other locations (Woodstock, Harvard, Lake Zurich) in years. As for the service, it was great. The greeter greeted us upon entry, and then the one that was there when we left gave such a warm thank you and goodbye. While in the womens section, I asked a worker where the nearest price check machine was. She said the company gives them these nice phones to help with prices. She scanned my 3 items and then offered to take the most expensive one and put it back on the shelves. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 as some of the prices at this location are higher than other Walmarts in the area.
Ordered an apple, and was offered an orange...Made an online curbside pickup order and they substituted a 75-in x 25-in frosted adhesive window film, with a 20-in by 256 FOOT roll of WALLPAPER. Really!? The only things those items have in common is that they are thin pieces of material and they go on top of stuff. The order picker was either lazy and didnt feel like looking for my order, or they need more training on what products are similar. I wouldve preferred that the order was just cancelled instead. This is not the first time something like this has happened either. I shouldve learned from the past experiences. Wont be using them anymore
I went oil change my car today. I clearly ask I want mobile one fully synthetic oil change. I pay my bill after I notice They change my car oil without my permission pennzoil synthetic. I spoke store manager he say They out Mobil 1 oil that’s why they change pennzoil. That’s not my problem they out . I have argued with manager I want to remove my car oil and he refused. He is telling me both companies same . I end up waisted $52 .Never go again Walmart Algonquin
I will never be returning to this walmart ever again in my career. I came in with a smile on my face and left infuriated. I came in to get something and wasn’t sure if they had the item i wanted or not so in this case, what everyone would do would be to ask a worker if they had that item. Well I kindly asked a worker if they had this particular item and they were extremely disrespectful. They replied as if I was stupid and didn’t know what I was talking about. I then asked if they could look it up because a walmart worker can typically look things up on their phones to see if they have items in stock and they looked at me again very rudely and told me they’d help me look for it but didn’t even help in which i left very disappointed and irritated. If you want to have a good night, definitely do NOT. come to the algonquin walmart.
Employees where very rude. Was in there later at night looking for some spark plug sockets and the store was still open for another 30 minutes, next thing I’m bum rushed by five employees saying I need to leave right now because it was to close to closing and they didn’t want to deal with me. Also the very tall guy that they use as the “muscle” to get you out is very rude and would not let me speak as I was trying to say I was looking for something and kept saying I was a bad person and that I needed to leave. All in all the employees at this store are horrible people and they need to fix this.
Went to exchange a propane tank. After paying for it, waited for 20 minutes. Ended up walking around the building and returning the exchange. As I was getting in my car to do the exchange at another store, someone finally walked out, at that point ten minutes after returning the purchase. Went to walgreens and was done in under ten minutes.
Horrible location that purchases 5 star reviews. Came here today to do some grocery shopping (12/09/2021) and one of the items I grabbed was a container of potato salad from the deli area. When I got home and checked the date on it I saw that it EXPIRED TWO DAYS AGO (12/07/2021) why is it still on the shelf?! Ive never purchased an expired dairy / egg product from any Walmart especially not one that is two days past its expiration date. Disgusting.
Outraged right now. Placed a food order for 7 items for pickup. Received an email that I thought said five of the items were not in stock. I didnt pick up the order 2 days ago because the items that were not in stock and were the items I needed and the other items were just ordered to get the order over $35. This morning I received an email that someone had picked up disorder and it wasnt me but not only had they placed an $88 hold on my debit but now theyve charged my debit $39.64 for items that I never picked up. Why theyre holding so much money is beyond me. I will never deal with Walmart again and they probably dont even care but I was a good customer at least $150 to 250 a week. This was the final straw.
Maybe the dumbest shopping experience Ive had in 61 years. My wife and I attempted to buy 2 Neutrogena 50 SPF sunscreen sprays. When we scanned them at the checkout we kept getting a message restricted item ask for assistance. The man working the self check had the same issue and called a manager. He came back and said the manager indicated we could not buy the items. The line at customer service was long so we left and I called the store and asked to speak with the manager. After being on hold for 15 minutes, finally Joe the manager picked up. He said some aerosols are restricted for sales to people under 18. Im 61. He then said if an item is recalled they cant sell it. I responded that I could understand that, but if that was the case why were recalled items still on the shelf for sale? Didnt have an answer for that. Then finally said maybe the man working the self checkout and/or manager he spoke with were in error. Why not just start with that rather than making up excuses that make no sense.
Ordered an item online and selected instore pickup vs curbside as there were a few items i wanted to purchase instore that i couldnt find on website. 1st and foremost, this store has gone thru a reset and its been months and still not finished. Pharmacy sign still hanging where old pharmacy was, items are all over the place and so hard to locate. Now for main reason of visit(pu online order), i noticed the instore online pu area is no longer there so i asked the greeter. Greeter informs me i can pu my order at CS area. When i got to CS area, JESUS told me that i needed to drive around store and that they only did curbside pu. I explained my reason for doin instore pu and he rudely told me that the site is outdated like it was my fault. No apologies at all. Im already frustrated at this point and to make things worse, i drive arnd, get to a spot and checkin on my app. Sat there for 20 mins and nobody came out so i decided to call. Lady on phone couldnt find my order using my last name so she asked for my order#. While i was reading her my order# my WM app notified me that my order has been picked up. Clearly they are clueless and incompetent. I couldve gone in store and just grabbed the item i ordered from shelf and it wouldve saved me the time and inconvenience. WM should do a better job hiring. I worked in CS for 20 years and its #1 rule to apologize first for any inconvenience. Meijers and Target arent far at all so i dont know why i should continue to shop at this Walmart. Worst experience ever.
Little on the bad side as far as Walmarts go. currently they are remodeling but long before they started they had bad service and rude employees. As a former Walshart employee I am understanding... but there is a limit to being a sad employee and a rude one. Cleanliness is not a priority here nor is zoning their shelves.
This store is poorly stocked...the products are not faced. If you need something from the top shelf, good luck....unless you have a 4 foot reach and are 6 foot tall. Also the shelving where the Clear American sparkling soda is kept is the worse....they put the 12 packs on the bottom shelf and if the first 12 pack is gone, youre on your hands and knees trying to reach 2 1/2 feet to 4 feet in to get the second or third one as that shelving is 5 feet deep and there are so few people on the floor that you can get no help....very hard store to shop.
Walmart has many things you need. If you go there now, be prepared to spend a lot more time looking for what you need. They have moved everything around in the store. Nothing is where it used to be. They also took out a number of manned ckeckout lanes. It will be interesting to see how this all works out. This redesign may have been done by someone who never shops themselves.
I hate that Walmart is taking away most of the cashiers. If I have to scan my own items & bag them, then I want my items discounted. Im not an employee. I dont work for Walmart! Walmart raised all their prices & all we got was over priced products & we have to do the labor to check out. Walmart stinks! 😝
It’s really convenient for the location but lately they been running out of everything. No milk in the fridge. No coffee creamers. And the worst thing is that you ask for the product, they have it there but people their workers don’t care. They will just tell you “ I’m sore we are out of that”
I am so thankful for my experience today.I didn’t even know Walmart had an auto center so my quick trip turned into a few hours, with two toddlers, in Super Walmart!!!Okay breath, not only was my bill for a oil change, chassis lube, and tire rotation all cheaper than just a oil change at my normal place, I was able to knock out shopping and have a great lunch at Subway. Then, my daughter fell in love with a bike, and this bike kept showing up everywhere in the store - like it was calling her.Just then, not one but Two helpful Walmart reps rounded the corner. One was the assistant manager, I saw him multiple times already today, he still had the same smile on his face while seemingly to never get a moment to breath.I asked him to please help me take the bike to the cash register to allow me to buy it without showing my daughter the surprise.I’m pleased to say I really had such a well respected and clean experience at this Walmart.Thank you entire staff for your continued work keeping that Huge store clean and organized.
This Walmart seems to be layed lut alot better then some ive been to.. The prices seem lower them some other walmarts. I do know that the prices are suppose to reflect the area their in well dont think thats the case for some of them. Store was very clean and organized.
I just went in to get band-aids and they are doing a remodel and I dont mind that but the pharmacy is on 2 sides of the store and because I am not from around here I asked where the band-aids were and the staff just couldnt be bothered to help me but I did eventually find them after 15 minutes of searching.
Sat in the pickup area for 20 minutes after checking in. Got up and asked a store associated to get a pickup associate so I could get my order. 30 minutes later somebody shows up. It’s the middle of a weekday and the store isn’t busy. Try the Walmart in Huntley. It’s much smaller but the staff there won’t have you waiting around for 30 minutes while they do nothing but stand around with their mouths open.
The workers here are super friendly and keep everything safe to make sure we can stay shopping there. We all got help when I lost my phone and had to get a new one, and got a good deal on a pre-paid phone. The place is also not super busy, rather quiet, so you can make sure your most likely gonna keep a 6ft distance from any other shoppers.
Save a headache and go to Walmart Crystal Lake. I was told by customer service on a previous shopping trip that I could exchange (keyword EXCHANGE) Walmart brand baby formula from their version of Similac Advantage to Sensitive. Get to store with my 2 UNOPENED AND NON EXPIRED formulas ready for a quick exchange. Customer service is halfway through and decides she better call a manager. Manager says no. She comes out and explains some WIC mumbo-jumbo. I get mad and leave. As I pull away I talk to Roman and his boss at Crystal Lake and they see no problem doing an exchange and doesnt matter whos there or position the moon is in the sky that night
I did not have a good experience with two female employees there today. not very helpful and quite rude. I’ve only been to this location a few times so I don’t Know where everything is located. I asked an employee politely “excuse me, where would your pools be located at ?“ and she said “ uhh . I don’t know . over there . “ pointed out somewhere and Rolled her eyes !. I really regret not asking to speak to a manager. She had an attitude, seemed very annoyed when customers would ask her a question. Same with a young female employee red or Dark pinkish hair. I think those employees need to have a more positive attitude. Don’t get me wrong there are really kind employees! But With some It’s quite intimidating to go up and ask for help. (: I had to ask a different employee who was very nice! he actually let me Know they were out of stock.!! He was very polite.! (:
Having $218. in WALMART merchandise, at 8:30am there we NO CHECKOUTS OPEN.The manual checkouts had a line of 6 people waiting for a long time .Had to go to customer service to ask for help. The WALMART store in Algonquin on Randall road is not going to be the one we will shop at any longer..
I love going to Walmart. They have a good selection of most anything you could want. Also if you walk around for a bit youll find other things that you didnt know you needed. Prices are fair and the grocery selection is good. We go there quite often given the fact that everything is closed down because of Covid. But Walmart is open.
Your typical Walmart. Reasonable prices. Most items made in China on hard goods. Stores has all departments: grocery, health & beauty, pharmacy, toys, kitchen & dining, hardware, paper products, TV & Electronics, etc. They could use more cashiers working as they put in a lot of self service registers and there usually are lines to wait it for a cashier to ring your purchases and take your money. They need more Organic foods, especially fresh Organic vegetables & fruits. Target Store seems to be more organized and staff will open registers when lines grow, and Target seems more customer friendly than Walmart.
So aside from the staff who is always super happy and always willing to help, I personally wanted to write a review specifically on Kim. My father was having a hard time trying to get something returned for my little brother and all he wanted was a store credit. There was a woman he had spoke to previously that was not very helpful. This personally really upset me because my little brother who is 10 works really hard to save up his money to buy things he really wants and he was really upset that he was not able to return this system. So I came in today and ask to speak to a manager and between Kim and the other store manager Colleen oh, they were able to accommodate a store credit for us and we are extremely grateful for that. I really appreciate you guys doing that for my little brother. Thank you.
Can not count on Walmart having what your looking for in stock, and when out of stock it can take a month before you see it on the shelves again. Prices are no big deal, not much if any better than the Jewel one half mile down the road. If you are in hardware, sporting goods, actually any department for that matter and you have a question or looking for something they should have, good luck finding someone that can help. I have not done this for some time but a couple of years ago I was looking for lunch meat, for the life of me I could not locate the sell by date. I ended up down the road to Jewel and had no problem finding the date on the package. Dont know what was up with that, just make sure you can find and read the dates.
I have shopped at this location since they opened and have watched the customer service slowly decline. They no longer have cashiers past 9 pm so I rarely shop there anymore because I dislike checking myself out. Tonight I needed help unlocking an electronic item on a locked hook and no one came after 10 minutes so I ripped it off the rack then made my way up to the register to self check out . I asked the self check out monitor if their are any cashiers and she said the cashiers all called in sick. That location used to be so busy and now its so empty. I probably spend 75% less then I used too because the shelfs are empty and there are no employees to help you or cashiers to ring you up. Im sure this store will close in the near future. Its such a pathetic place to shop now.
Dont know what to say about this location. But when a customer walks into a establishment to spend money, they should not get yelled at by a associate, just because I went the wrong direction by accident. Very unpleasant feeling l experienced. But the associate should have been more professional and well educated & trained in Customer Service skills Only if Sam Walton could have been there to experience the episode
On Monday night I walked and it was somewhat busy but this nice young lady Dagne helped me checkout and I felt so appreciated and she was so lovely and helpful. She had a question about something and this kid helped her out I didnt catch his name but he had glasses and was pulling a cart filled with stuff. He very friendly and funny. I will be coming back to this Walmart just to see those two employees again. They made my night.
During the day it a Walmart like any other. No real issues. My issue is the fact that there are almost never any cashiers at night. Its a little ridiculous that there are 12 people standing at the self checkout waiting as the 4 people using them have full carts worth of groceries. There should be a bare minium of 1 cashier open during all working hours. For that matter there is only 2 or 3 through the whole day.
Although most of the people were adhering to CDC guidelines for Covid, there were a few who either had their mask under their nose or they werent watching their children, who also had their masks under their nose or they kept taking it off. Outside of that, the shopping experience was very pleasant.
One of the female managers at this location has a terrible attitude is extremely rude. I went to purchase wine for myself and I had my sister with me carrying other items I needed. When I went to the self checkout, I scanned the wine and the manager came over to check my ID which I showed her. She then asked for my sisters ID. I told her my sister isn’t buying anything and these were all my items and she wasn’t of age. She then told me that I could not purchase my alcohol with an attitude and told me I was banned from purchasing alcohol from the store for 24 hours? I asked her why that was necessary and she said she could lose her liquor license if she sold the alcohol to me (I am of age) with my sister standing there, so she took the wine away from me then completely turned her back to me and no longer acknowledged me. Her attitude was so poor and childish. I took my business elsewhere. Cheers to Target!
Went in to return a gift. Waited in a twenty minute line at the service desk-to be expected right before Xmas. The girls there were having issues with the computer-understandable, especially this time of year. When I got to the front, my return was no exception. She needed an override from a manager. Fine. Waited about ten minutes for Patti to show up. Still No problem. However, when she got there, she began scolding the poor girl at the register right in front of me and thirty other customers. Then, Patti started yelling at me for returning my item that was over $50 with no receipt (didn’t have it because it was a gift). When I asked how I should proceed in the future, she told me I needed to somehow find the receipt and then quickly shuffled away. Then, as I was checking out, lo and behold, another override was needed and guess who came over? Patti! She was once again incredibly rude to me and the cashier that she was helping. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough and will be spending my money at miejer or target next time.
This place is so great! They totally let us crash here for two and a half hours from 1:30 to 4 a.m., and pull out some lawn chairs to sit on so we were comfy. We had some cool deep conversations and bonding moments, and it was all thanks to Walmart! Their service staff was polite enough to leave us alone for so long while we were being loud. When they did politely inform us of our disturbances, they did so in a way that made us feel special. We felt better about our futures because of what they told us. I recommend this Walmart for all of your late night hangout needs!
This is the second time I have ordered online for pick up. The first time I was missing $40 in product of common product like gatorade etc.Today I was missing $100 in product and things like potatoes, onions, carrots, etc. When I called to complain I was told if the shoppers run out of time, they leave it offSeriously, Ill never shop groceries here again
Ive always been happy shopping at Walmart. The store is clean, people are friendly, and I always could find what I needed. Unfortunately, since theyve remodeled, they have reduced the many flavors, styles, sizes, of the items they would generally carry.Im disappointed with this change, because now I have to make trips to other stores or place orders online to get what I want.
A decent walmart. But if you dont like self checkout, youre on your own basically. Tried to use a regular checkout and the person ahead of me at the only one open in the middle of the day confused the cashier and after 5 minutes waiting and no other lines open. I used the self checkout, the lady running these was nice, but that said, terrible management decisions.
Horrible! I usually do all my groceries at night like 10pm since I have 5 kids I didnt realize that now they do not have cashiers at night you are your own cashier very sad $200 later Im still at the cashier scanning my stuff holding up the line so embarrassing! What ever happen to paid cashiers that scan your stuff I feel like someone should pay me for scanning my stuff! Very disappointing!
By far the worst Walmart / retail experience I have ever had. On Saturday night when there was low traffic, they had 3 lanes open and only one self check out. This caused lines with 10 - 20 people in each line. When I asked two employees (who were hanging out, by the make up) to speak to a manager, I was surprised to find out that the manager was standing in the middle of the closed registers chit- chanting. Her response to my complaint of the ridiculous lines was “everyone’s on break and I don’t make the schedules, none of the cashiers would be happy if I did”. She shrugged it off and didn’t seem to care. We left our products and left the store. Will never return. They clearly do not care about customer services.
I have been getting groceries delivered from this store for the last three months. Today was the WORST experience ever. Our groceries were supposed to be delivered between 6-7 and never showed up. So I call customer service the first time and was put on hold for 10 min. Hang up and call again to be put on hold for 10 more minutes. This goes on for 45 minutes before I ask to speak to Colleen the manager. She gets on and is unbelievably RUDE and unprofessional. I finally get connected to the delivery department where I’m told that the delivery driver left without my order and they will have to request a new one for later. Ummmm.... what do you mean he just left? I was told they do this all the time then get a late night delivery for all the orders they missed!Such bad customer service and management. You want my advice... avoid this store!
This Walmart has been fine since I have moved near by but I just had the worst expierence . When I was checking out last night 1/12/19. The cashier was extremely rude. I was making my Payment and using the app Walmart pay to pay. The machine didn’t take it and the woman started go off like I did something wrong...literally saying “you did it wrong so now u have to pay regularly” I explained to her that I only use Walmart pay because I like using savings catcher and I can’t upload the receipt to savings catcher unless I use Walmart pay then she said what I thought was so uncalled for “ well guess u won’t be doing that this time since u did it wrong”. I may or may not have done it wrong but still to say that stuff and be in customer service is appalling. I will not be going back.
I can definently tell a difference in the store since they started remodeling in the later part of 2017. Lately there has always been more than enough lanes open to keep checkout as fast as possible. I have also noticed how tidy the store has been. I often see employees in the isles straightening up and it is absolutely worth it if you ask me. If that werent enough, the staff is always super friendly. I live between 3 different Wal-Marts that are more or less the same distance away from me, and this one is by far my preferred store.
The workers there are friendly and helpful, but due to certain departments being understaffed, and slightly nonefficient workers, your visit may take a little longer if youre in for a lot of things. Besides this, theyre selection is good on nearly all fronts, and checking out was a breeze at the end.
On January 20th at 7:50pm at the Algonquin locationApon arriving Halie(a store associate) was handling the customer service desk. I made an effort to return a Michelin windshield wiper after it had broken off my windshield during a snowstorm a few days prior. I explained that because it broke off in the storm while I was driving I was unable to get out in traffic to retrieve it. I explained that I had purchased this wiper and a passenger side wiper the same day. I had not yet installed the passenger side wiper that was still in package and I was hoping we could use it to look up the receipt from when I bought them both. She understood, Halie proceeds to look it up but can only find the passenger wiper I bought since I had it on hand. She then told me in order to process the exchange I would have to go and find the drivers side wiper I purchased, she showed me the computer where it listed acceptable items I could return where it showed that I could return that passenger wiper I bought the same day. I went and spent about 20 min looking for the same wiper I purchased a couple months back so she could process the exchange. Came back with 4 different wipers to be sure and she scanned them all and could not find the corresponding driver side wiper I had purchased and I went back a second time to find the right one AGAIN. After about 40 min of walking, scrolling through their corresponding wipers book to find the wiper I had purchased I came back and this time she was able to find it in the system. We finally found the right wiper blade I jad purchased to process the exchange(not refund) but then she says oh you dont have the original wiper, Ill have to call my manager to approve this exchange. I said well you and another lady that had assisted me had told me to go look for it so you could process the exchange? Halie says i know but I have to get my manager to approve it since you didnt bring the wiper in(because it broke off in a storm in traffic) so I wait for Joe(assistant manager) to come and help process the exchange. Hes shows up a a few minutes later and Halie proceeds to explain what had happened. She explains that she had found the receipt but cant process the refund without his approval because i didnt have the wiper on hand. He scoffs and says wait so you want a refund for merchandise you didnt bring in? I explained again that it had broken off in a storm while I was driving. He goes well did you have our staff install it for you? I said no I had no idea they would do that. Joe proceeds to say he will not process the exchange because I didnt have them install it for me. I told him had they said they would install it for me when I purchased it to be protected in the event it broke I would have done so and therefore its not my fault I had to install it myself. He then proceeds with a different reason saying oh well you didnt bring it in so I cant process the exchange. Now Im annoyed because I spent 40 min looking for the right blade after being instructed to do so, Im not getting a replacement blade, and the whole time Joe was talking to me in a condescending tone with little eye contact. I said thanks for the help guys and left. But it doesnt stop there!! I called back to get their names and Halie answered, I didnt know her name yet and I asked what the managers name was. She put me on hold and got Joe to pick up, Joe was reluctant to give his name but did, I then asked what the store associates name was and he said he wouldnt disclose that information. He made me walk back in the store to look at her nametag so I could write this ridiculous long review. All in all I wasted a ton of time in the store, on this review, and still need to go purchase a new wiper blade. I have had bad experiences at this Wal-Mart several times now and I do not plan on visiting again. Hope this helps!
I walked in at around 6 pm looking to return a vacuum cleaner that didn’t work AT ALL. The customer service girl Haile and the manager were extra rude. The first thing “Haile” did was take apart the vacuum cleaner and she was inspecting it as if there was something wrong with it....nothing was wrong with it , it simply didn’t work for us. Then she proceeded to tell us that we can’t return it because we don’t have the receipt and then REFUSES to give us store credit for a vacuum cleaner that WAS NOT working. I will never buy at this store again if this is how the staff treats their customers. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.
Certain options are limited in food. Then I was looking at food containers, and I had a question about the price of one of them that had not label, just by my side there was Ben , who works there, he was labeling some products in the same aisle, I asked him for the price and he told me he was not in charge of those items, neither tried to resolve the problem by finding someone else or on their speaker system, so all I did was to put that back on the shelf, and walk away.
Only a very select few of the staff are actually helpful. The rest if they dont know the answer they say they dont know and dont even try to get help for you. Today was my last straw with doing site to store pick up. Over the years when the site to store was in the back, I never had any problems, people helped you pretty quickly. Now since they moved it to the front of the store it is an absolute joke!!!! The first 2 non holiday times I used it, the first time it took them 1 hr an 15 min to find someone to help me. the 2nd time it took them an hour because they were so busy and would get to me when they can Mind you both of those times were non holiday AND during off hours when the store was pretty empty. TODAY pushed me over the edge. After receiving both notifications by email on Sunday and was told I had 6 days to pick up so I went Monday morning. I was brought someone elses items who had my initials, and the girl working looked at me stunned when I had said I have never seen or ordered these items. I proceeded to tell her what I had ordered and PROVIDED my order # she said this all I have for that name ALSO kept asking me are you sure you were notified You can cancel or reorder.... so I go to the service desk, they tell me to go back because it shows another order for my name.... So I go back and tell them what the service desk told me... the response I got was I showed you all the things in your name. I return back to the service desk and they tell me I can go check the shelf to see if it didnt get pulled.... AFTER 2 HRS they tell me they do not have the item.... I ask them to call Crystal Lake store to find out if they have the item and to hold it because of the mess up by WALMART... they call tell me that it is there but they wont hold it for me EVEN for an HOUR>. ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!! WILL NEVER SHIP SITE TO STORE I WILL PAY MORE FROM ANOTHER COMPANY THAT ACTUALLY APPRECIATES MY BUSINESS.
Store was fine, disappointed to read on app today they are getting rid of the savings catcher. They dont price match anymore. And they already change to force you to pay via app to do the savings catcher. Now they are taking that away. Time to take my info off their app and find a new place to spend my money.
Went because they had the best price on a George Foreman grill per their website. When I arrive it took multiple employees and a supervisor review to match their own sold and shipped by Walmart web price lolI finally get home open the box and the base of the grill was shattered smh
I ordered some tires from them a couple of days ago. I was told that I would get a call the next day and they would be ready the day after. I decided to give them a call because no one called me yesterday like they said they would. No one in the auto department would pick up the call and at one point I was hung up on. I called back and requested to speak to a manager and was once again on hold for several minutes. Eventually I decided to hang up and take my business elsewhere. I recommend you do the same.
I have been coming here for YEARS and have never had an issue until today. Stopping by to grab a few things after work and went to self checkout because it was closest to the exit near where I parked. There where 3 other people checking out besides me (2 white 1 asian) and the worker named Linda this little Asian lady decides to stand RIGHT BEHIND me watching as I scan my items. Theres one thing doing your job and theres another when u single out the only Hispanic and assuming they might steal Smdh never had an experience like that before.
Made a purchase in app for store pickup. Received confirmation text. Got to store and the pickup kiosk closed at 8:00pm - which is not stated on the text.Waited in line at customer service only to be told that they could not help me - and that I would need to return the next day during normal kiosk hours. I pointed out how crazy it was that nobody could walk over and retrieve my order, and the only response I got is that the kiosk has always closed at 8:00 and nothing could be done.Wasted trip. Poor customer experience. No common sense.
Horrible check out experience - as usual!!! 15 people in self-checkout and 15 in line for the only checker... and the staff was annoyed that people were complaining about the long wait. I think well just stick with Aldi going forward. If I could rate Walmart a zero I would.
New employee in the pickup department was extremely helpful. In helping a 70 year old meeting a deadline to get her patio refinished I ordered a mosquito hat cover due to pervious bites I received. I arrived to pick up the online order to early and this wonderful new employee went over and beyond to find and finish the transaction before the department officially opened. WALMART has a great asset in hiring this new employee. To that young lady..THANK YOU!
It was a fast trip in and out getting some shampoo, hairspray etc. There were alot of cashiers open so there was no waiting today, im suprised because Sundays all Walmarts are usually crazy busy but the Algonquin store seems to have it fully staffed for the weekend shoppers!
Middle of the day self check closed down completely, and I waited a good 10 minutes in an express line to buy 2 cans of soup because I had oral surgery and had no choice. Also really small liquor supply. Would rather shop elsewhere and probably will in the future. Seeing as no one seemed to care that plenty of people were waiting in line.Edit. They do not have a self check it was just an express line with no people in it.
The guys in auto are so nice.... But I got there to check my battery to see if it was bad cuz they wont give you one under warranty unless its bad. They said 2.5 hr wait. Np I sat with some really nice people and waited..... 4 hours later they finally pull my car in. 45 min later after that they are checking my battery. It was bad (like I said) so now 4hours and 45 min into my trip they tell me they dont have my battery. It was the most unprofessional trip to Wal-Mart. They should have taken a look at least at the type and size of my battery. Then the guy says I need to go to Crystal lake. Which there had a 5 hour wait and there was no way of bumping me up in line. So I had to find someone to meet me and take out my battery with me. Worst day at Wal-Mart Ive ever seen. And the manager was no help at all. She didnt want to even say sorry oh its a busy day. I get that..... But I really hope they put a procedure in where the part will be checked for before the ticket is written.
I needed to return something with no receipt. I understand that its a pain to do it but before I went to return the item, I read the return policy to make sure I could make a return. I go up to the service counter and explain my case to the lady working there, shes like we cant take no receipt returns over $50 she explains. Im like thats not true I read the policy before coming here. Shes like Im Absolutely sure we cant do it. There is no way we can So I wont continue to refute her lie. She even goes to accuse me that Walmart didnt even sell the product that I was returning, Im like Its Walmarts private label brand of course you sell it!.She then asked what store I bought it at Im honest and say Carpentersville which is where I bought it. She then tells me I have to return it where I bought it completely changing her story about it being over $50. I then took it to Carpentersville where they didnt do anything special that she couldnt have done, other than be kind and treat customers correctly. She lied to me and made me drive across town because she didnt want to do a No Receipt Return. I get that this is Walmart and not a place thats known for customer service but she should not be lying to customers because she didnt want to do a return that was well within the bounds of the Walmart Return Policy.
I ALWAYS have a terrific shopping experience at the Algonquin Wal-Mart. They are in my neighborhood and they know me by name. When you work two jobs, sometimes seven days a week and have four children under the age of 12, having a place like this helps so much. Thank you.
I am very (emphasis on very) displease with the service Ive been punished with today. I am an African American nursing student at Souther Illinois University. Im visiting here and was sent money from my father. I had no other spending money but the money spent to get here. So I go to Algonquin, IL Walmart to receive money sent from my father. Now I know theres not many black people here and it makes me believe that that is the reason for them treating me as foul as they did. I truly believe that they felt offended by a young black woman receiving money from her father. I go to the associate named, Carol, and give her all the information. She acts as if theres nothing coming up. After several attempts and contacting my father who screen shots the confirmation on his phone and sends it to me I find a manager, on my own, and speak to her. She puts in the information and looks at the confirmation screen shot and says that the transaction is in the system but that it is unavailable. This has never happened before. Weve NEVER had problems and we do this all the time. So she gives me a customer service number which is actually a money laundering number come to find out once I get home. I call the bogus customer service number and the lady tells me that NOTHING is popping up. Which is funny because they manager just said everything came up and as Im saying this to the customer service associate the manager is now blushing, pink red. Why? I do not know. So I take down all of their names. After asking for a pen from one of the associates, the first, Carol, rudely says Can I have my pen back? So Im forced to keep talking to these rude racist suspicious associates to ask for another pen to take down the managers number. Before giving me the pen she says, its bent which after researching means: to be in a bad situation, to be taken advantage of, to fail miserable, or to be angry. So I pay her no mind, tell her thank you, and leave the store. I look up the customer service number the manager gave me and discover that it is a money laundering number. I am hurt and confused as to why they would assume, probably because I am a young African American woman, that I am laundering money. Please check into this because its unfair and disgusting. Why does almost every google review have 1 star for this location? Its terrible! If whoever is reading this has anything to do with how business is held please look into this. I will never come back to this Walmart ever again. Thank you and take care.
My experience was with Andrew and Jeremy from this store. This was one of the worst experience that I had at any walmart store. While this is a huge store, it looks like the staff is very poorly trained at handling customers. I was buying liquor along with a lot of other things and my wife was with me at the checkout register. She saw that the customer service was right next to the counter and she wanted to go to the customer service counter to return a merchandise that she already purchased. At the end the cashier asked for the id and I showed mine and then he was asking for my wife`s id who was all the way at the front of the customer service counter. While it was me who was buying and I had bought liquor previously (like a week ago) also at walmart and they asked only my id even when my wife was with me at the counter, I wasn`t happy about this and asked for the manager.Someone came over, it was not the manager and he got the details from the cashier and told that this was the store policy which I am sure it was not. When I told him that I am going to go out of the store and put my wife in the car and come back and try to buy again, he said he will not give it to me still because he knows that I have a someone with me, even though there wasn`t anyone with me.. I didn`t have much time to argue and had to give in.. and showed my wife`s id.. I did not have any problem with showing my wife`s id , it was only the way that they argued with me as if they didn`t care what the customer thinks. One of these guys, I think it was Jeremy who came instead of the actual manager and argued more with me. If he was the actual manager, then there is no wonder why the cashier was showing this attitude towards the customer....
Stop in today to do my normal shopping for the week I go over to the sporting goods Id like to buy some ammunition. the one door has been off for months and all the ammunition not present. couple months ago I asked the manager in Automotive what happened to the ammunition they told me the one door got broke and they had it in the automotive department locked up that if I wanted something let him know and hell go back and get it. I told him thats okay Ill go somewhere else I like to shop and compare prices. Today I went in there to do my week Lee shopping the cabinet still missing the door no ammunition. I asked the store manager if they were anti-second Amendment her reply was no theyre having a hard time getting the door replaced ok. No flags up for the 4th of July on the premises and the ammunition locked up where no one can see it I think its a little deeper than that.
I was told the associates were busy working truck and that it was going to be impossible to get help. The woman even told me she wouldnt bother calling anyone for help. I tried calling the store and sat on the phone waitimg for someone to answer, while in store, and never got my call answered. I ended up having to go to customer service to get someone paged to help me. Once someone finally came it still took forever to get the product I was looking for
The Algonquin store is under staffed and always lacks adequate checkout clerks. Sunday morning at 8:30 am there were 3 registers open with at least 7 customers in each lane that were highly disgusted. At least 3 Customers pushed their shopping carts out of line and left the store. I called the store Manager Don from my cell phone to alert him of the situation and he seemed unconcerned and indicated its the best he can do.Well if this is how customers are treated and the holiday rush has not even started yet, then I would suggest people rethink there shopping plans and steer clear of the Algonquin Walmart!!
The neighbourhood 24hr Walmart store with groceries and your usual stuff. Pretty good store with great prices all around. There isnt a lot you cant find here, for everything else there is Amazon to the rescue. Price here is usually comparable to Amazon, sometimes better than Amazon
I love the store but the Pharmacy is horrible. These are not odd or unusual drugs but they are needed RXs for my dogs.At first, I couldnt get my RXs filled within a reasonable amount of time 2-7 days. That finally was resolved after complaining for three straight months.Second issue, the RXs were supposed to be ready by a certain time but were not. once I had to go back to the store three times in once day before it was finally ready. They resolved this at long last as well.Third issue, because these RXs are for my dogs they set them up with their own accounts! Shouldnt they be under my name as would be a child? I can guarantee the dogs will not be calling or picking up their own meds. The problem this creates is that I need both dogs birth dates. Seeing as how they are rescue dogs I dont have actual dates but rather months and years. So this makes finding their accounts difficult for their staff and even when using my phone number they often have issues. But I cant get into their online accounts either for this reason. VERY annoying. Common sense should dictate they go under my account as my pets! Not resolved.Fourth issue, I am there waiting in line to pick up the other day and I also have a new paper RX to drop off. They would not take my paper RX at the pick up window even after waiting in line and sent me to wait in the drop off line. REALLY?Fifth issue, my dogs pills call for 1/4 and 1/2 tablet but they refuse to cut them for me so I have to do it! They claim this is because they cant guarantee the pill wont break apart and they cant waive any charge for pills they may break. So I wonder how my Vet, Walgreens and CVS were able to do this prior to be bringing Walmart my RX? How is is no one else has an issue with this?If it werent for the significant savings on these RXs I would NEVER use Walmart for their terrible procedures and service. But I guess I get what I pay for! I fele bad for people, especially the elderly that may have these same challenges with Walmart Pharmacy.I have complained to the Corporate office who rerouted the Pharmacy Manager back to me. But isnt he the one fully aware of his procedures? I dont know if this is how other Walmart Pharmacies function but it really is quite horrible every month!
Horrible customer service. Vidann, who I think is a supervisor, was very rude to me at the customer service desk! Strolled away as Im standing in line with a return. Ive experienced problems with her before and other supervisors also. Worst Walmart Ive ever been in!!
I have been traveling the country working on Wal-Mart buildings. As well as being a regular Wal-Mart shopper. This is the best Wal-Mart I have been to!! Severo (the assistant manager) was awesome!! Shout out to Wal-Mart for finding this guy!! I would suggest keeping him in mind for store or district manager!! Here is a guy who cares!!!
Dan Falkenthal in the grocery department is one of the hardest workers Walmart has to offer. All in all the workers of this walmart have been very dedicated. the store is clean and vivacious during peak. The store is in a great location between the commons and the Algonquin strip.
I worked for Wal-Mart for 16 years as management in supercenters and know what is supposed to be what in these stores and why. While I no longer work for the company, I am still a customer. I have to say that this location is one of the worst supercenters I have ever been in and this includes supercenters that were problem stores that I was there to help clean up. It is absolutely filthy on the food side. As the eggs sell down, you can start to see the shelf that they sit on. Broken egg shells, and dried crusty egg remnants are all over the bottom of the shelf. They should post a sign over the egg counter: free salmonella with every egg purchase. While we are in the dairy section, open a milk case door.....that sour nasty smell is spilt milk that spoils on the floor under the milk racks. You can only smell it if it has not been cleaned in weeks. Also, you can see freight directly on the cooler floor. Cases of freight are supposed to be in racks or, at worst on pallets to deny vermin access to the freight and to guard against the cases being contaminated by spills which is what happened in this instance. Cases of yogurt, sour cream, pudding, and cheese SHOULD all be pitched now. Some how I doubt that all that product was thrown away, and even more sad and probable is that they dont even know that product shouldnt be directly on the cooler floors. And the dairy product on the shelves on the sales floor isnt rotated. There is fresh, albeit contaminated from the milk cooler, but in date product in front of out of date product. If the items sell down enough, people are going to be buying expired product. The sales floor coolers are visibly filthy on the outside of the cases, and if they dont care how dirty the outside of the cases are, then what branch of the bacteria and virus family are they allowing to evolve on the inside of the cases? Or should we just call them the petrie cases? I wont even discuss the deli slicers. These issues are supposed to be stopped by the use of sign-off logs and accountability but Ill wager a great deal of money that the logs are just signed off on and never actually checked for veracity. The merchandising makes absolutely no sense in the dry grocery aisles. Endcap features are paired with supporting items that have nothing to do with each other. For example, they have an endcap of mayonnaise and on the side stack right next to it will be hot chocolate mix and on the other side stack will be nutri-grain bars. How in the hell are any of those products supposed to convince you to buy the other items right there? Aside to non-sensical merchandising, they are almost never in stock on items I go in to get. And when they are in stock, they are MORE expensive than the competition down the street. When questioned about no longer being the price leader, store manager Jason said that he would match any ad that I brought in. However, he had no answer for me when I told him that they are more expensive than their competitors on non-sale items. Jason similarly had no answer for the filth that I pointed out to him. My observations made on the sales floor in front of other customers only elicited sharp instruction growled into a walkie-talkie and motioning to wandering associates to address the issues from Jason. Knowing that the filth is the norm at this location, I called the 700 number to alert the company that this location will hospitalize or kill a customer due to its cleanliness issues. Not even trying to placate me, they told me that they have company officials tour the stores to look for these issues and that I shouldnt worry. Little consolation if a customer winds up in the hospital over issues that exist and they wont address. I think my experience in this location can best be summed up with the following statement: I would rather lick the floor of the mens room in a seedy bar on Saturday night than eat ANY food purchased at this location. The mens room floor wouldnt be as filthy and the bar manager would at least care if it were.

2022-02-10I asked three different people to help me find doilies. When none of them could and customer service told me the website stock was inaccurate, I put all of my items back. When putting away my last item, I just happened to find doilies on an obscure shelf. Employees need better training and better pay. I do not shop here, and the only reason I did today was for work.

2022-07-01I just called here not even 10 minutes ago Trying to order birthday platters Dave platters for my sons birthday party and i have been RUDELY bounced around from Deli to bakery. And everybody in Delhi that answers the phone is answering the phone very rude, snobby and irritated. They are saying things like what, what do you want, what do want to order. They are breathing irritably and huffing and puffing every time they answer the phone. After the 5th time of me being transferred over 5 times I stopped them from transferring me and talk to a girl named Stacey. I told them that I could be the district manager or anybody else trying to see how well you guys perform. And based off customer service, I would rate you a 1 star 🌟 only because you can talk. But as far as customer service, you deserve a 0. Walmart rude employees whom are in the older bracket, you represent the CEOS BRAND and he or she would not be pleased on your CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS, INTERPERSONAL SKILLS, MANNERISMS, AND OR YOUR UNWELCOMING FACES. I have ran across younger people with so much energy, Excitement about their job, Positive, Communicative, And patience! 1/2 of them I know left because I have seen you guys Rudely trained them in front of customers instead of trying to teach them the way!! As a leader it does not make you look good when you make those you train look small. I pray you all change your attitudes and smile the same way you did at your interviews.

2022-05-06This Walmart just underwent a new layout change. Some of the new Item locations seem a little strange but overall its a good store. The fresh produce is almost always great.

2022-06-08Oil change is really professionally completed in this location. If you go for a synthetic oil change ask any of the managers on duty to request Brandon. He is a real pro.

2022-03-31Kudos to this store for redesigning to match the app, adding self checkouts including hand scanners and improving aisle signage! Way better than it was! However small shopping carts are desperately needed and the colors in this building are downright depressing. The building is stark to begin with and Walmart grey makes it worse. Not a enjoyable shopping experience and I leave as quickly as possible.

2022-06-29This store runs a little slow need more people on registers and do you really need to block the whole isle when you restock? Some areas are a fire hazard clean it up .

2022-01-14Well stocked, organized, clean and helpful associates. Norma by self checkout is a sweetheart. She saw me scanning my items with my daughter in my arms and she quickly came over to bag my items. Helpful hands in a time of need. Unheard of these days. Thank you Norma! My daughter even smiled at her. All around good store for just about everything.
