Walgreens in other cities:
Was great, until they are now closing the pharmacy at 11 starting Thanksgiving. I work 2 jobs and work 3-11 at my second job. I would always come here after my job to pick up my prescriptions. Now what am I suppose to do??? First they took away 24 hours, now this. They lost my business completely.
Every one is very helpful. I was having quite a few issues with my insurance company and my bank and was a bit frustrated. However, every one who had assisted me was helpful and responded quickly to my needs. I appreciate every ones help and really recommend this Walgreens!
This review is specifically for the pharmacy. I’m very pleased with this place. The new pharmacy manager Jessica has really turned things around here. If you’re still stuck in the past, I recommend you give this place another shot. If you’re a loyal customer like me, then you already know what’s up.
I like this Walgreens because theyre open 24 hours. That means holidays, too, yo! Need some emergency cough syrup on Thanksgiving? Stop here! Need some painkillers on Christmas? Look no further! The store comes complete with super friendly clerks, full stock of walgreens goodies, and it is always very clean.Downside?? Im not a fan of their Take Care Clinic. Lines are always super long, staff back there isnt the friendliest, and for some reason its not covered by my insurance which is a major bummer. One time I waited two hours to have a TB test read. I mean, seriously?! Someone just needs to look at my freakin arm!! Heres the kicker...I was there when there was no wait but they refused to read it 10 minutes before the 48 hour read period was up. Then the clinic was flooded with patients. BOO! Not my favorite Walgreens feature.
I went to the nurse practioner for an inhaler refill, which I even specified on my pre-apppintment paperwork. Paid $89 and waited over two hours just for the appointment. Once in there, she decided to also prescribe (/sell) me oral steroids. Fine. Whatever. After my appointment, I had to run out of there and go straight to work. I came back several hours later, where ONE prescription was waiting for me- the oral steroids, which I really didnt even need. What I needed was the inhaler. I explained this to the pharmacist, but he could do nothing, as the clinic staff had left for the day. He told me the morning pharmacist would contact them and I could call in the morning to check that status. When I called back, the (incredibly unhelpful) pharmacist said, I faxed them, it usually takes 24-48 hours to hear back. Um, what? 48 hours to remedy a prescription - related error that was made by their staff? When I asked if there was someone he could call, he said, I can try faxing them again. No, thanks. I was incredibly surprised by the apathy and laziness of the staff regarding this matter. I have been using this pharmacy my whole life and travel about 20 minutes to this location. Ill probably find a new pharmacy after this mess has been cleaned up.
Ive been going through chemo the last 14 months which started after brain surgery. To say Ive been prescribed a lot of meds would be an understatement! Only reason I didnt give 5 stars is you do have to wait in line no matter the time of day. However, its worth it considering the way the pharmacists & assistants treat you. Thanks & I appreciate the smiles! 😊
Call this location with a very basic question and the woman speaking to me berated me and practically yelled back because their national phone number directed me to the store to inquire about a service she claimed they don’t have. Absolutely rude for no reason. It’s not my fault you don’t understand how your systems work. Don’t take your frustrates out on a customer.
Came in to the clinic for congestion and got an interrogation. The way I was questioned made me feel like I was being accused of something. How do you know its your lungs? What do you mean by that? Us it this or that? Which is it? Well I dont know what the problem is, thats why I came to you...Just the tone was unwelcoming.Didnt take my blood pressure or examine me in any way. After a few questions they just said go to urgent care like I was bothering them. Waste of time. I better not be billed!
RIDICULOUS! I could not find a single employee in the entire store. I had to use the restroom - which is marked as public but you need a code to enter - and could not find anyone after walking the entire parameter twice. I then had to ask the very busy cashier to help me and she pages someone. Over 5 minutes went by, NO BODY. So I went back to her and with a very irritated look on my face and tone im sure, told her that no one has showed up yet. She paged someone again. I waited another 5 minutes. NOBODY CAME AGAIN! So I did another walk-through before walking out of the store without anything that I came to purchase because I was going to urinate on myself. I told the girl on the way out that this is bull - I spent my whole lunch break from the hospital waiting for NOBODY TO LET ME USE THE PUBLIC WASHROOM! I am appalled at the customer service at this store. You have a clinic in there for Gods sake! Sick people are your main demographic and need to use the washroom frequently. To have no way for a sick person to get to a facility within a reasonable amount of time is horrific. I wonder how many other poor people could not wait and had accidents due to the NEGLECT. SHAME ON YOU WALGREENS. And for the records, I do work at Good Samaritan Hospital and I will highly recommend that my patients use CVS.
I was just discriminated against at this Walgreens my fiancé and I went in to purchase some wine and other items and simply because he made it to the counter before me. The associate asked for ID I came to show my ID along with the rest of my items and they refused to service us because I had my ID but he didnt. Since when does everyone you are with need to have an ID to purchase wine?????
I thought the service at this store was very good. I asked the cashier if they did passport photos and soon after that she paged someone to the photo department. The girl who worked in that department was very nice. I explained to her that I went to two other stores besides this one.She understood what I was feeling.
AVOID THIS PHARMACY! Over the course of the last 10 years this location constantly has new staff new pharmacists. This location used to be a 24-hour pharmacy but no longer is and my guess is the reason why it stays open and why people go there is because it is the closest pharmacy to Good Samaritan Hospital/ER hand people have no choice but to go there. And alternative would be the jewel Pharmacy west of Walgreens on Ogden Avenue or if you are heading east there is a CVS on Ogden Avenue. I wish that this was an exaggeration but consistently over the last decade many friends, family, and complete strangers whom Ive met waiting in line all agree that without a doubt this is the worst Walgreens and possibly the worst Pharmacy in the country. I also would recommend to go so far as to have the actual Doctor Who wrote your prescription on the phone while youre in line and pass the phone over to the pharmacist, although, I have done this on a couple of occasions and still have been refused or blatantly lied to and have heard countless stories from complete strangers waiting in line with the same overall tone. One would think that with the Walgreens headquarters being so close that they would fix this problem. How has this problem been allowed to continue? Truly sad.
They were very nice and efficient when I went in for my photo order. But even better, when I had to call later that day to ask about my daughters missing frog blankie, the guy who answered their phone went out and searched the parking lot for me, including under the cars, and offered to check through the store (but we hadnt brought it in). He was so nice and understanding, way more than some other stores I called. The froggy was found later, well hidden by her baby brother.

2021-11-17Ive had both good and bad experiences at this Walgreens. The good: the store associates are generally very friendly and courteous at the cash register. There are a couple of pharmacy techs who are outstanding. If you take a minute to tell them how much you appreciate their hard work, they will go that extra mile for you.The bad: The good work is overshadowed by the biggest problem this location has, and thats extremely long waiting times in the pharmacy line inside the store. Calling the pharmacy is often a toss up: You either get a fairly efficient answer or you wait on hold for a long time. There have been 2 occasions when the phone was never answered. For over 30 minutes, it continued to ring after Id already been listening to hold music for over an hour. Ive informed them of the pharmacy phone issues, but nothing has changed. Ive even witnessed pharmacy employees ignoring the ringing phone. Its not uncommon for the pharmacy line to have a dozen people in it, and the service is excruciatingly slow more often than not. Your best bet is to go in the morning right after they open. As for the store itself, dont expect to be able to use their public restroom. You need a store employee to unlock it for you, and if theyre busy at the register, forget it. I will no longer be using this Walgreens. There are others close by as well as a Jewel just a few blocks west on Ogden.

2022-02-20I have not had a single bad time at this walgreens. I have issues with a generic medicine and they always make sure I get the right one, they let me know if theres a delay while theyre waiting on the right brand. Always timely and helpful. I switched from the Walgreens in New Lenox to this one because I never have to worry here.

2022-03-23Most of the times they have done their job but recently the pharmacist took my number off my account after I asked her to get rid of my name from my family account because I have my own. I stopped receiving text updates. The last two times I’ve been here they don’t listen well. They must have been short staffed to have the pharmacist answer phone calls or have a bad phone system. When I asked the teller what the other prescription is that will be ready tomorrow she said the one I just picked up. LISTEN ITS NOT THAT HARD

2021-10-22Guy by the name of Sam has been working here for years now (Ive lived around here since 2015 and he started not much longer after we moved here). Hes always so very helpful and knowledgeable. Ive seen this location hire people that werent that great, and that arent there much longer than a year at a time. He always seems to compensate for what other employees lack. Walgreens, you should promote this guy.

2021-11-18Store is okay, pharmacy is absolutely atrocious. Rude, understaffed all the time, not helpful. Make you feel like you’re the problem and everything is an inconvenience to them. One car in front of you at the drive through? Be prepared to wait 45 mins. I will be changing pharmacies asap.

2022-06-24Pharmacy is horrible understaffed, its near impossible to get through on the phone, even when calling from a provider number.

2020-01-01Was placed on hold for almost an hour. Needed confirmation of another prescription being transferred- before the other location closed- no one would answer. I finally got connected to someone in the store front and they refused to transfer me saying it was busy so they cant do anything and hung up. I always get my prescriptions filled at their competitor and only switched because they were out of stock, I will NEVER return to walgreens.

2020-01-14Omgosh I just had the most wonderful experience ever at this Walgreens. Jen is one of the pharmacists and I had some concerns about my daughters allergy to a drug and she went above and beyond to explain everything to me and make me feel at ease. I’ve never had that type of service anywhere else. Thank you thank you Jen the pharmacist:)Katie P

2019-04-21Ive been coming to this pharmacy on and off for a while to get the occasional medication filled. Generally had mixed results, but lately everything has taken an up-turn. The new manager seems to be on top of things and has the pharmacy running smoothly. Even when busy, things are communicated well. Will continue coming here for my meds!

2020-02-06Since you have allowed Sprint to conduct business at this location, my last two experiences have been horrible. I was browsing charging cables for my non Sprint brand new phone when a rep began his sales pitch and continued as I tried to walk away. If I want Sprint Ill get it but I am happy with my non Sprint plan. The sales reps need to learn when to stop.
