Walgreens in other cities:
I went there for a COVID vaccine and I had to wait 45 minutes, even though we were the only people in line for the vaccines because they were fulfilling medication orders. The woman at the cashier by cosmetics was rude to me and other customers because we tried to form another line at her register. She confused everyone in line by how she wanted to run the checkout. She only made the packed line more chaotic. I heard some customers behind me complain about her too. The man that ended up checking out my order left before giving me my receipt. Then he remembered, came back, and threw it at me without saying a word! While I was still shopping I couldn’t find a product, so I asked an employee named Jose. He was very nice and helped me look for the product I was looking for.Summary: the pharmacy and cashiers waste your time and are rude, the employees working in the aisles are actually really helpful.
I scheduled a flu shot here. Arrived 15 minutes before my appointment to find a line the length of the aisle. Asked a pharmacist if I still had to wait in the same line for scheduled vaccination. Yes. The line did not move in 10 minutes. I left and will not be coming back.
This pharmacy is horrible. They have drive thru and never acknowledge the customer. A pharmacy technician passed through the window about 3 times didn’t say hold on or please nothing! They need to train these employees to be more polite. Customers are picking up medicine more then likely they’re not feeling well as it is and to come into this store to get treated this way doesn’t make you feel any better. Btw not a thank you after the Medicine was handed to my husband. No words after just handed the medicine and left the window. RUDE!
Beyond poor service. There’s an issue every time I go there for my mother’s prescription. My most recent experience: They won’t fill the prescriptions when the doctor’s office submits the request. A call is still needed to request the prescription to be filled. I do this every time.Yesterday I spoke with a tech to have a prescription filled. The tech informed me that it would be ready in a few hours. When I went to pick up the medication I was told that it was not ready, and that it is out of stock, and that they won’t have it in stock for a few weeks. The tech offers no solution until I complain. Her suggestion is that I go to another Walgreens.I did as she suggested, the other location was out of stock as well. They offered a solution and said they could order the medication and have it next day.I’m confused, why didn’t the Walgreens on Austin and Cermak provide the service? Shouldn’t they all offer the same great and caring service?
I love this Walgreens. They are typically well stocked and always have great deals on the products I need. Make sure to use the rewards coupons you get with your receipts and cash in your rewards for a nice discount when you can! The employees are very cool but there are some with less accommodating attitudes. That’s just how it goes, I guess. Still, this is my go to spot for coffee cream, wine, ice, shaving stuffs, ice cream, chips, whatever you need.
The pharmacy line is often very long. When we go through drive through, we have to ring the bell more than once. When we received the medication for my toddlers seizure medication, they did not even ask if we had questions or explain how to use it. This has been standard at other Walgreens pharmacies.
The only people I trust here are the pharmacy staff and Ruby who was helpful.Edit: after going here longer this review unfortunately changed. I wasnt billed correctly twice, my debit wasnt returned once, I had instructions given incorrectly, I had attitude given once when unable to use the drive thru...I documented most of it by calling corporate and nothing was done from what it looks like . I will be going back, getting my money back, and changing pharmacy.
Worst pharmacy in the area. Supper crowded, wait times are horrible. The pharmacy techs dont seem to have their stuff together. A few times theyve told me to wait 10 minutes when the wait time is ta least 1 hour. The parking lot is always filthy and so is the store. Sorry to vent, but do yourself a favor, go to another store. For those other reviewers that claim that we all have to wait... I have no problem with this,,, Except when the techs call me that my Kids prescription is ready only to wait again another hour! Sure we can all wait, thats not the problem, but the advantage of having your doctor send the prescription ahead of time is so that you dont have to wait as long. And if you are called that your meds are ready, they should be when you arrive, but a lot of times they are not! For those of you that have had a good experience kuddos to you, Ive been there at least 5 times with 4 negative experiences, my last time there was really my last :)
Bad Customer service!! I recently made a curbside order. Tell me why they stated that one of the items was out of stock!! Since I was already there, I went inside the store. To my surprise, the item I had recently purchase online and was claimed to be “out of stock” was actually fully stock. Seems like they are tooo lazy to check and fulfill an order right! Sooo disappointed at this store. They made me waste my time and I would definitely stop coming here.
Its 2:12pm oct. 19th and I have just gotten back home from this walgreens that Ive lived down the street from since I was a child. Ive never written a review about a place in my life. And I have never been more uncomfortable in my entire life than I was just now. They should consider learning how to be a bit more discreet about scoping out shop lifters. I had the manager walk multiple employees to me to show them who they had to watch and listened while he told the employee in the next isle to keep an eye on me as I shopped for face wash and dry shampoo. Ive never been so grossed out in my life.
Their automated prescription refill service does not work and has not worked in months. Always get message hold on i will transfer you to someone who can help even tho you have refills remaining on your prescription. Then you are transferred to somewhere which is not your local location which you were calling and they then have no clue why you were transferred to them. So to get your prescription filled you have to go to the local location, 5932 W. Cermak and stand in a line which most often has only one person working. The normal wait time in line at this location is 20 to 30 minutes. I dont know about other locations but the pharmacy at 5932 W. Cermak Rd. in Cicero Illinois is horrendous.
Pharmacy is awful. My doc called in a prescription at 3:15, I went in at 4:15, they claim doc didnt call yet. Because this happened twice before, I asked them to check their voicemail, and there was my docs message. This was for my daughter who had an earache, so that made it more frustrating. To make matters worse, they did their usual itll be ready in 15 min, went back 20 min later, they said maybe 5 more, so I waited then had to wait 15 min in the long line, they saw me and didnt even have the courtesy to have me move up.Awful, if you can go to any other pharmacy, then Id recommend that. They truly do not care about their customers well being.
Was humiliated by staff, including manager. Tonight my nephew asked me for a Rubix cube. We went to Walgrees at Austin and Cermak. While there I picked up some cereal and snacks. My nephew found his Rubix Cube. The line was extremely long, but I noticed only one customer at the photo section. I got in line behind her.The single transaction ahead of me took a bit of time. As the cashier, a young man by the name of Brian, was finishing up he asked me if I had any photos to pick up. I said I did not. With haste, senseless carelessness and in my opinion, an obtuse attitude, he demanded that I go to the standard line.My first thought was This young man doesnt want to cash me out because he wants a break. Maybe if Im kind to him hell take me. I asked him, Do you not want to cash me out at all, or do you only cash out photo customers? He proceeded to tell me that he would not take me next under any condition. Now, its important to point out a few experiences at this point. I have been, as many of you, a life long Walgreens customer. I have, scores of times, used the photo section to check out. I have never once, not once been denied service.Nextly, I did not inconvenience any other customer. I found my spot, 2nd in line while all other customers choose to stand in the long line.Brian, the cashier, in my opinion had a very poor attitude. His demeanor and presentation was poor, unkept and very much a negative experience.I, for one, do not believe that the customer is always right. Having worked in the field, I know there are customers that are beyond rude, mean and our right wrong. Because of this, I was quick to decide to leave. If Brian, on behalf of Walgreens, saw it fit to treat me like (what in my experience is) a thief, a dishonest charlatan, a scammer, simply because I attempted to be checked out by the photo cashier, I would not demand he serve me.I asked for his manager. He pointed to another cashier with the name tag of Eddy. I told Eddy my experience and he was VERY quick to take a contradictory stance. He told me that I needed to get behind the line.I mentioned to Eddy that after the rude and negative treatment, I was only informing him of my decision to leave. To my utter shock, he said, good. Now, I have been a customer of many places for a very long time. I have stood in line and I have been impatient and I have left. Never have I been treated with such disdain and contempt. In my experience tonight, both Walgreens staff were heartless, unprofessional and very quick to be unwelcoming.I made 2 decisions after this experience. first, I will never again go to this Walgreens so long as I live. Yes, dramatic, but I am also very upset. The level of my transgression of not taking the long line does not warrant such treatment. I did not yell at them, cuss at them, I was not rude or demanding. I was visibly upset, but I chose to walk away.Secondly, I will seriously consider taking my business, and that of my familys to CVS. As I took the half mile trip there I started to wonder if Walgreens has given over to such staff and if would be the same in the rest of the neighborhood stores.CVS did not have the rubix cube, but they reminded me that Walmart will have better choices, cheaper.I also found the cereal at a cheaper price!I highly suggest that corporate send out a secret shopper and show a modicum of impatience to Brian and Eddy. Dont take my word for it, experience for yourself, how it is that YOUR ambassadors, YOUR representatives are treating people.I deal with impatient customers ALL OF THE TIME. It is an art, a science and a kindness to them to treat them with care.In my experience and in my opinion, this Walgreens is in need of PIP.
Leticia is very snotty and has a bad attitude if you don’t want to work with customers then this is not the job for you/ I simply needed help with something that was locked away and I waited patiently while they took care of their long line first and I still got left waiting because they forgot about me then when I asked for help again it was all down hill from there. I will never come here again:
Worst pharmacy ! Never have anything ready on time even when given extra time to go in to pick up prescription it’s still not ready they tell you oh 15 mins more and you end up waiting an hour. The lines are extremely long if you want your prescription ready pick it up right before midnight that’s if you’re lucky.
This Walgreens is TERRIBLE with filling Rxs. My moms doctor called in a Rx for her. 1 hour later my mom calls to see when it will be ready to pick up. Well, they LIED that the doctor did not call. That doctor happens to be my husband and I was right in front of him when he left the message. 20 years ago, this pharmacy use to have quality customer service and staffed for the high demand. What happened??? We went to CVS 5 years ago, but then my mom didnt want to drive so we tried this Walgreens again. BIG MISTAKE. Also, they have garbage outside in their parking lot and the store is always DIRTY!!! They need to stop hiring these snowflakes that do not want to work.
I’ve seen all the complaints about the pharmacy and honestly it’s all these people who think they are entitled to be helped first! I waited like everyone else did, I was helped in a professional manner and that was it! I don’t mind waiting for my turn like everyone else does! You’re not special, you must wait like the rest of us!
This pharmacy REALLY needs to get it together. What is the point of having 5 check out sections when only 1 is being utilized at a time. This place is clearly a high demand pharmacy and needs more than 1 person checking in and checking out customers with prescriptions. In no way is this pharmacy efficient. You have people waiting in line for their dam medicine for 30 + min on top of receiving rude customer service. Get your prescriptions filled somewhere else!
Ive been trying to fill my sons inhaler for the past month but its been back ordered & out of stock at every Walgreens I called 5 & the only one that has it is the one in south Chicago & I asked if they could deliver it to me . they tell me yes to go to a Walgreens & put my card on file so they can charge it. I said okay I go to the one on Austin & they said we dont know how. & the girl wouldnt even listen to me she walks off & gets the pharmacist & he tried a bunch of ways to figure it out till finally he said Im so sorry this is happening. What Im going to do is personally go pick it up for you & deliver it to your house that to me is amazing customer service !!!!! He didnt ask why I couldnt get there or make up excuses, he went above & beyond! I truly appreciate him for that !
The pharmacy gets backed up very, very often. I get that theres a rush hour, but please hire some additional staff during those times. I absolutely hate coming to this place because I know full well that Im going to be waiting in line for 30 minutes exactly, maybe more.
Drive thru service is lacking in professionalism. I will not be coming back to this store. On occasions they have ran out of my medication. What kind of pharmacy runs out of medication. Also they gave me incorrect information. Pharmacy technicians too busy joking around instead of taking care of bussiness. Very unprofessional.
I called to get my prescriptions refilled for a total of 90 days, they said my prescription would be ready in an hour. I get to the Walgreens and I get my prescription and they only gave me 30 days worth. Why do I even call? This is not the first time this happens. This has happened 3 times already. Also, they never call you back to let you know when you have a prescription available, even when you request a call back. They are so irresponsible and flaky. Its the worst pharmacy.
Worst Walgreens I ever been to. Employees are lazy and rude. Especially in the Pharmacy department. No matter what time of day there is always a line and you have to wait about half hour at least. They ignore you when you’re trying to get their attention. Avoid this Walgreens.
Its a decent store. They need to try to keep up with supply and demand ( especially when coupons are out!!!). My only real complaints are the beggars and weirdos hanging out by the front door and during soccer season when they have a trading ticket even just inside the front door. Not very safe. Have it in the parking lot. I spent 15 min just trying to get inside the store. Had I not walked there....I would have left and gone elsewhere.
THEY ARE RACISTS TO ANY NATIONALITY/ORIGIN AND DISCRIMINATE LIKE NO OTHER!!!! Working with a lawyer for a law suit. If you experienced discrimination, racism or any downgrading treatment, please contact me so I can give you information for my lawyer and hopefully get a class action going. We already reached 3 people so far w same issue.
BY FAR THE WORST ONE IN THE AREA.AVOID THIS LOCATION UNLESS U WANT TO GIVE YOUR CHANGE TO THE PEOPLE BEGGING OUTSIDE.THE MANAGER DOES NOT SEEM TO MIND THE PEOPLE BEGGING.EMPLOYEES SEEM TO ALWAYS BE BUSY OR ARE RUDE.PHARMACY IS AWFUL AND THEY ACT LIKE THEY DOING YOU A FAVOR.
Worst Walgreens ever pharmacy staff ignores you there would be a large crowd only one pharmacy staff is working while the rest of them walk by like they are working but really ignore you. waited there an hour for my medication many of times it needs to be reported or sue them if you really get sick,
Terrible pharmacy service since 10 in the morning we took the prescription to fill it and be able to take my medicine and it took more than 8 hours to deliver the medicine, and thats why we went to ask if it was ready, why not go They never call us to pick it up.And the “nurses” or assistants You need more training to be able to serve a very arrogant client
Its the worst walgreens Ive ever been to.The staff with a lousy attitude, and very rude. The cashier who attended us next to the perfume section was very arrogant with us and rude. Not to mention that the cash machine was disgusting, when my mother tried to pay with her card and entered her pin, her fingers stuck to the buttons, everything was dusty and sticky, and when my mother told the cashier that it was all disgusting that if I could clean please, he just stared at my mom with an expression of displeasure and annoyance. And it is unprecedented that a place like these that is very crowded by people does not have the corresponding sanitation measures and the machines are so dirty to such a degree that the fingers stick in the machines.

2022-05-04If you call the pharmacy too late in the day they will rarely answer the phone, thats after being on hold for 40 minutes. sometimes they just hang up. Dont use the app, orders dont get processed in a timely manner and they will not call you if something is on back order. They seem very busy and apparently understaffed with high demand. Best bet is to go in physically, dont use the drive through. It takes too long if youre in a hurry.I used to get amazing service from this location but something happened with walgreens this past year and the service has been very poor. Techs and pharmacists are being overworked and not much is being done to to fix the issue. DONT take it out in the staff. They look like they are doing what they can.

2021-11-09So, heres the story. I ordered some Pokemon cards for a friend from Walmart, they shipped via Fedex. My friend has packages stolen all the time so they requested the package to be held a facility which is a Walgreens and you can just go pick up your package! Well (: the package was ready for pickup as FedEx informed me. She goes to Walgreens, they lie to her face and say they dont have it. In the background sh can see the product I ordered for her. (She even took a picture and sent it to me - THEY OPENED HER MAIL). The employee tries to say its store product. Its a Walmart exclusive. She literally shows the screenshots of the Walmart order and FedEx trackingThey continue to refuse to give her the product I paid forI then call the Walgreens and have them transfer me to fedexThey dont pick up the phoneI tried to call 3 more times and Walgreens refused to answer my callApparently this is something they have done before too, straight up lied when she can see her item and then they tell her to come back tomorrow and theyve repackaged it in a different box and slapped a reprinted label on it

2022-03-08Left prescription on 2/16/22 for my sons Nebulizer. Its now 3/8/22 and they still dont have the item, never called to let me know the status, nor do they answer the phone to speak to an actual human. My son had a medical emergency and NEEDS the nebulizer to breathe. What a shameful company that calls themselves a pharmacy. Never shopping at this location or even at a Walgreens anymore.

2022-06-25I agree, its a disappointment that you cannot rely in this neighborhood pharmacy sometimes. Honestly when theres an urgency, the outcome is upsetting most often. Processing can be a challenge so you cannot expect to get your Mads son time.

2021-11-20They only ever have ONE pharmacist in the pharmacy processing medications and ringing people up. The line is always so long it goes down the aisle, and I ALWAYS have to wait anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour in line just to pick up my refill. No matter what time of day, the pharmacy is always under staffed; they even have to CLOSE DOWN THE PHARMACY just so the cashier can get a 15 minute lunch break. This is absurd, Walgreens is a multi billion dollar business that can’t even hire ONE extra pharmacist just so their staff can take a proper lunch break, and so customers can get their medication in a timely fashion?

2021-08-29Your usuall local neighborhood Walgreens store has a little of everything even adding groceries to their list Wich also includes beer/liquor and even their own pharmacy its always been somewhat of an expensive store aldoe offers fairly decent brands expect to spend a little more for your usuall needs not including maybe liquor since prices are usually just about the same everywhere give or take the store you go to but this specific Walgreens is legit always packed so during covid and distancing not your best place to go to and honestly service is always very slow there aldoe it offers everything you basically need and open 24/7 I only go there when I really have to

2021-09-12This location has very long wait times (30-45 minutes) for picking up prescriptions that are “ready” for pick up. The line is always long no matter what line you’re in. If you’re in the drive-thru don’t bother keeping the car on turn it off. If you’re going to wait inside bring a chair.I watched to see why the wait is so long and it turns out they’re unorganized. Most Walgreens I’ve been to have the ready prescription organized in alphabetical compartments. The pharmacy tech at this location have to fish through the ready prescriptions in order to serve everyone who comes to pick them up. That is the biggest problem with their pharmacy. Please correct this problem. It is ridiculous for customers to have long wait times for prescriptions that are “ready” for pick up. There is no regard for your customer’s time or gas if they’re waiting in the drive-thru line.

2021-09-22This walgreens pharmacy is a complete joke. Been trying pick up my wife prescriptions for a week and the drive thru pick up window moves about 1 vehicle every 20-30 minutes with no way of getting out of line because of their drive thru set up. I called trying to have them deliver and they put you on hold forever. Inside is no better with the long lines. I myself switched to CVS and it takes me 15 minutes to pick up and return home. This will be her last prescription she will ever get here cause we are done with this place.

2021-12-09Went thru app to reorder medications and received text there ready so went thru drive to pick up and I sat in my car literally for an hour. The way the drive is set up you can’t get out so your trapped. Just don’t understand how a business can think this is ok 😡
