Vista Medical Center - East in other cities:
Angel with Vista Physical Therapy in Lindenhurst is the best! He has done an excellent job with rehabbing my shoulder and neck. His ability to detect the cause of my problems and develop solutions to remedy them is amazing. His knowledge of therapy techniques combined with the ability to explain proper stretching and exercises has made such a difference in my recovery. I have tried so many things over the past several years to address these problems with little progress. Im lucky Angel was assigned as my PT because he got me to a much better place and gave me the tools to prevent future injuries.
This review is solely on the ER registration person by the name of Stacey. i was trying to visit family, went up to this person to ask her a simple question and was treated so rudely. maybe train those employees up front to have a little more empathy since they are the first contact when someone is trying to visit family in an urgent situation.
Nurses and doctors are rude, I dont care if youre dying GO TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL because this one is hell. Cant wait to this hospital gets hit with a big fat lawsuit because I see in the comments Im not the only one who lost a family member due to negligence from the staff here.
Congratulations on being the only hospital in Illinois with an F evaluation.F: Vista Medical Center, WaukeganThirty-three percent of hospitals received an A, 24 percent received a B, 36 percent received a C, 7 percent received a D. and fewer than 1 percent received an F.The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade methodology has been peer-reviewed and published in the Journal of Patient Safety.
My poor dad went in for acid reflux and a bowel blockage. When he got there he tested positive for Covid. With only 1 kidney they gave him Remsdivir along with sedative to calm him down. He died. I believe it killed him. We just got the statement for what the hospital charged. $240,000. Something is fishy here. 😖
Am from out of state closest Hospital to my hotel thats why i came here 3 hours waiting nobody has been call! it wasn’t busy at all don’t understand whats the issue hopefully management can take care of this i ask the sign in clerk for further answers it seems she is lost or she doesn’t work here no answers at all. Worse hospital ever
One of the worst experience I am having here.. no body cares about the patient… nurse told me she called doctor.. he did not attend.. for all this I had to wait several hours in pain.. nobody preferred to inform me properly guide me.. they don’t know what’s going on… Tomorrow I will be discharged.. after spending 9 days in this hospital and I am not even able to walk..I’m scared of going to rest room.. it might stretch skin and hurt.. my skin is healing is painful when it’s dry.. when One nurse this is not okay… she brought me a cream .. thanks her but.. doctor saw that in the morning and did not react.. is it okay to use it or no… that tube removed my all new skin… and again at zero..I wish I had I choose another hospital earlier for my self…
I had my second child this summer on labor and delivery. Rachel was my nurse and she was so calm and helpful during the chaotic 20 minutes from the time arrived and the time I delivered. She ensured my husband and I both got the birth we wanted, and followed my birth plan. She was very personable and honestly she made me feel like I’d known her for years. She’s an amazing nurse and I’m lucky to have had her for delivery and the first day post partum.
Been here currently for over 2hrs in the ER waiting room for my fiancee to b seen. Took over an hr just for them to call her in to get her vitals checked and to tell them whats going on. Multiple people sitting out here for well over an hr waiting to get taken to the back.
Navy Chief E-7, Active Duty Military 14 yearsThis place has zero regard for its medical staff. My Wife is a Registered Nurse at Vista, constantly exposed to Covid-19 due to the nature of her work around her patients. When she became sick with Covid-19, they sent her home without pay, with bills to pay and our kids to feed.Medical Directors if youre listening. Are you surprised by the fact your nursing staff is leaving to other Hospitals or becoming travel nurses with better pay and benefits? My wife is more than a number in your workforce at Vista, and deserves to be treated as such. Every workday she is putting in 12 plus hours on the floor giving quality patient care, saving and changing lives for the better, she deserves to be treated better, all of your staff does with better Covid-19 protection and benefits for when your staff becomes sick. Make the change for the better, not your profits.
I was treated like royalty. From the time I arrived until I was release. I am covid positive. They put me in isolation my room was 519. There were no one else in my room just me. They gave me the most comfortable bed. And a recliner to sit in once I could walk. My physical therapist was a Angel she went t he e tra mile for me. All the nurses and tech were so kind. Kyle was so kind.i u sed the bathroom on m y self they kept me clean and spotless. The fire Department were so kind they had to lift me off the floor I got out the bed and slipped to the floor t he nurse told me dont get up but I did any way.
My PT with Angel has been great! He is very personable while also being efficient with helping to improve my hip/back pain. He answers all my questions and makes sure I understand the purpose of each exercise and stretch that we do. I always feel better after our sessions. He seems to genuinely care about my progress and helping me feel better. All my interactions with everyone in the Physical Therapy staff has been great!
Very nice nurses in the area my daughter was just in. The pregnancy wing of the hospital..she had a stress test done due to high blood pressure. The nurses name that did everything was Heather and she was a sweetheart and treated my daughter so great. My daughter is a ball of anxiety because she is due in 2 weeks with her first baby and Heather really helped her to calm down. So a big thank you to her and I hope she will be working when my daughter goes into labor.
My interaction with Angel Figueroa has been fantastic, my P.T. has been amazing. My recovery has been extremely beneficial to my recovery and to my health. Angel and his colleagues have all inspired and motivated me to the rehabilitation of my knee. They all genuinely care about my outcome and are very personable. I feel blessed to have been lucky enough to had contact these people in my life. They make me feel at home, and truly cared for. Thank you for a well versed group.
My son hurt his wrist falling off his bike. We were concerned that he had fractured it. From the moment we stepped into the Lindenhurst ED our experience was wonderful. Sabrina the registrar was efficient and explained things well from the start. Nurse Jackie was friendly and took good care of my son. Dr. Terrel was very thorough in his examination. Our aftercare instructions were clear and Jackie went over them with us until we felt comfortable. Good job Vista!
As a Waukegan resident (born and raised) Ive learned one thing about using our local hospital:Only come for preventative care services and nothing else. The way they treat people who go in for inpatient care is neglectful at best and incompetent at worst, its been like that since Vista took over Victory Hospital
My sister came to the ER via ambulance. Everyone we came into contact with was professional and showed concern for her comfort. Even while she was sedated, the techs came in and introduced themselves, explained what they were doing as they did tests. Her nurse, Brooke, and doctor, Heather, explained what they were learning about my sisters condition and asked if we had questions. When a bed opened, my sister moved to the ICU. Dr. Srinivasan, nurses Robert, Morgan, Daniel, and others whose names I did not get, were all compassionate. I was especially concerned to be at Vista, as all the doctors we work with are at Condell. However, all the staff we came in contact with did a great job, even while very busy and working long shifts. Thanks to all of you, you truly are heroes!
I’ve spent my entire day here at the ER. nurses barely check in on you. if you ask for water, they say they’ll bring it to you and then you never get it. If you ask for Tylenol for your headache, they say they’ll bring it and you never get it. you can spend 24 hours here and they will refuse you food. I just need this night to pass so I can go home
Been working with Angel to get back on track with my pain management, mobility and stamina. Visits are always productive and I feel heard when I have questions. Everyone on the staff has been super friendly and easy to communicate with. I feel confident that I can continue to rebuild :) thank you!
I love coming here for my health needs,I always feel welcomed. Angel and Jose have done a tremendous job on helping me improve my situation. Always making sure that Im comfortable with the task being performed. Great job with my neck, definitely feels better. Thank you for being friendly. Thank you
I came into Vista Medical Center East with a Multiple Sclerosis exacerbation on 10/23/21 along with several other issues. Since 2009, Ive suffered with this condition and this particular flare up has been one of the worst, landing me in the hospital for several days. The patient care I received from a wonderful nurse named Ranim on the 4th floor literally changed my life. He professionalism, genuine compassion and caring moved me so much. Not only did she skillfully administer my medications to me, she explained everything and she was truly kind and giving of the heart. This woman is pretty much Wonder Woman in my opinion. She cleared trays, took vitals along with her own duties and appeared to be doing the job of three people all day long ...with a great attitude with impeccable bedside manner. I cannot thank Vista enough for putting me under her care. This superior Nurse deserves some type of recognition/reward and I sincerely hope she gets it. She has been here pretty much around the clock with that amazing attitude and boundless energy. She is one of a kind and truly a blessing in the medical field. Role model nurse...best Ive ever seen. Thank you and she is truly an asset to Vista Medical Center East. Thank you and Ranim ... you are an angel on earth.
It took me a few weeks to gather my thoughts before I could write my review… I went to the ER Late September 2021 with Shortness of Breath and explained to the staff that I have a history of Asthma, I was told I had to wait in the Lobby after hours of waiting I told the registration lady I needed to be seen immediately for a TX her response was when the nurse assessed you, you was not a priority… not to even mention that the intake nurse did not even assess my Lung Sounds! When I finally saw a MD I explained to him my prior ER Visit and assured him that I was experiencing the same problem he tried to give me an inhaler and steroids and send me on my way he completely avoided me, I requested for my lads to be drawn and the MD gave me a look that I would never forget! They did not connect me to any Telemetry Monitors, I wasn’t given any oxygen, they didn’t even collect a urine sample! It’s sad that a group of Medical Professionals could treat somebody so poorly and be allowed to get away with this!! I wouldn’t recommend this Hospital to anybody the treatment is poor and the care is below standard! I have been in Nursing for 16 years this is not the place to visit for any medical attention and that’s sad to say because for any medical emergency people should be able to visiti the Local ER!
My cousin was recently killed in this hospital. She was treated with complete disregard and not like a human being who life matters. She did not receive any care or attention from the staff while she was there and no matter how many times she rang for the nurses to come in and help, no one ever came and checked on her and it directly resulted in her death. Our family is devastated how she was not even treated like her life mattered at all. This is horrible I will not suggest anyone go to this hospital in a emergency.
Im in from out of state and was experiencing stomach issues. The brought me back to the ER got a bed quickly and the staff hot the floor running to figure out my issue. Excellent bedside manner all around, wonderful nurses and PCT staff, doctors were compassionate when delivering my diagnosis. Felt safe and cared for at this hospital.
Save yourself the trouble- go to Condell or Lake Forest. While I was never actually seen by a doctor after waiting 8 hours in the ER (after seeing another patient pass out from their wait, another patient expose himself and threaten other patients- only to be told they couldnt do anything about it), Vista sent me a bill. I was unnecessarily fitted with an IV into my arm, which was never even used. I feel it was predatory- to keep me invested in remaining waiting. After I left for another ER nearby, I had to be given a shot at the next hospital to prevent blood clots, as I had sat so long at Vista. After receiving the bill, I called to dispute it- no one ever called me back, more bills were just sent. I would give negative stars if I could. Avoid this place at all costs.
Update: to first review. Gave them a second chance. Had to run multiple labs from 2 different doctors. Had my sister take my mom this time. Called everything was good to go over the phone. Find out a week later that they only ran the lab requests from one of the Doctors and could we come back to do the labs that were requested from the 2nd doctor. No pulled the plug and switched to a different Hospital for lab work.First Review: The ladies you first meet in lab testing area, not all that friendly. Arrived at 10:30 am with my 82 year old mother for blood testing and CT scan. Now almost 2 hours later still sitting here. Blood test done but still waiting on scan test. ???
If you value your life DO NOT go to this hospital!!! They surely do not, they should ALL lose their license. Shut this place down. Very unprofessional. Go to Lake Forest or Highland Park Hospital!!! Youll get much better treatment. Throw this place and the people with them in the trash!
Seriously, from the moment we checked into the ER we were met with extraordinary care. We are from out of state and while visiting family my husband needed his appendix removed. The staff in the ER, the surgery team, and the team in recovery were all so caring and attentive. They were sympathetic to our situation and made sure we understood everything that was going on. We asked a lot of questions and they were all answered. Thank you to everyone we encountered during our whirlwind 37 hour stay!
The time was approximately 11:00pm. I took my husband here because he had vomiting & severe abdominal pain.My instinct was to go to a neighboring hospital, however, this was the closest, and my husband needed emergency care. The inside of the ER is in a deplorable state visually. I’m only thankful that there was hand sanitizer around.Every staff member I saw, including security, was either on their phone, or chatting with teammate, meanwhile neglecting the video monitoring screens. Not the biggest headache last night though.Ms. Ashley Rodriguez… She has likely the most disgusting attitude I have ever experienced in healthcare, or customer service. My previous career was in patient access, and I can say without a doubt that Ms. Rodríguez went against protocol, and violated our rights, and disregarded law.My complex CPTSD was being aggregated by her utmost disrespect towards both my husband, and myself. I maintained my politeness and calm demeanor the entire time though.Ms. Rodríguez had more desire to be on her phone rather than remotely attempt to assist us, or be kind. When I asked for an update, I was told could be 10-minutes, or hours, she doesn’t know. Our conversation continued on a path of disrespect towards us. It started getting really bad with her once She asked me why I was up in her space, referring to the registration seats where she initially took our information. It just got worse and worse.Once I could no longer tolerate her belligerence, I stated we were going to go to the original choice of emergency facility, and I requested our paperwork back. Ms. Rodrigues refused to give it back to us and just kept saying BYE BYE BYE…Ms. Rodríguez also started calling me names. Like, actual disrespectful names. I said I was done and I requested her name to follow up with her direct supervisor, along with the patient access director. She refused to give us her name initially, or her supervisors name, and would either interrupt me, or talk so loud to try and not allow me to speak. She then continued with disrespectful talk and body language. She told me she was calling security. They had apparently stepped away for a time. I asked why, all she kept repeating was she was she going to call them and I was being disrespectful. I only hope they have cameras with sound. It was only after I was able to get the attention of the person that took initial complaint to assist. Unfortunately, She also wasn’t being of any help, and would not identify herself. Side note, I do not recall her washing her hands, or using sanitizer before coming into contact with my husband. Ms. Rodríguez was the only person that finally identified herself. She said I can call the next day if I want anything else.I don’t like writing negative reviews, but Ms. Rodríguez is a sore on the foot of healthcare, and should not be allowed to come into contact with patients, EVER again.Once she stopped flinging her head around in a street-talk fashion, and stopped waving her hands and fingers in my space, and stopped using slang and derogatory name calling, I was able to finally retrieve our paperwork. She finally gave it to us.We went to the new hospital. My husband needed surgery, and Ms. Rodríguez’ blatant disregard for her position, and the community she serves, could have cost a lot more than a CPTSD relapse, and surgery.Update as of 08/17/2020The generic response from them was just that. I kept my word with Ms. Rodriguez, & followed up with the patient experience department the following day. There were multiple issues to be addressed, and I was assured that they would be handled promptly, and a senior leader would be in contact soon to follow up.So far, the only response received is the one posted below, about following up with the patient experience department, several days after I had already taken that initiative. This place is a joke, & not in a good way.
I received a lumbar fusion surgery. My surgeon normaly works at Condell or Lake Forest. But despite approving my awesome neuro surgeon, my insurance company, would not approve either of those two howpitals he likes to perform at. So he informed me that there is a smaller hospital in Waukegan, (Vista East) that my insurance would pay for, and he does surgeries there sometimes. I agreed. After doing some research I was a bit worried about the reputation. When i got there I could tell right away that the Hospital was short staffed and was struggling to give adequate care. It was sometimes a 45 min wait to get an answer from nurses. When they finally did come they forgot to get what they promised half the times. Now I still gve vista a 5 star rating because of the professionalism of the staff. Although overwhelmed and being pulled in 50 different directions, they somehow always managed to keep it together and did their best to not take it out on the patients, as much as they probably wanted to sometimes. The med techs and nurses came together to do the best they could with what little staff they had. There was one lady who impressed me very much. Her name was Celnita. I was so sure she was a nurse but then found out that she was a med tech. The nurses boss, Aern, was also amazing. Did his best to right any mistakes and went out of his way to make everyone understand they were trying their best. I dont know if this sorta staff shortage is normal or if its just because of the Covid world we live in. But regardless, none of that is the staffs fault. Thats management. I was happy to get home after 3 days, but I will not forget how good of a job, all the staff did, holding everything together.
This is the worst of the worst. I wish i could give 0 stars. Went to the ER per my Drs request and 7 hours later i still have not been seen. Come here if you want to die, its as simple as that. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra miles to Lake Forest Hospital.... you can thank me later.
I took my 1 month old son to the Emergency room at 3:30am because he was having irregular breathing. We literally left at 7:14am without being seen because they said they still dont have beds. So at this point I can take my son to his pediatrician office that opens in 15mins. Its really sad that I sat there all that time for my son not to be seen or given any medical assistance. Just sad
Came here for chest pains. The whole experience was a delight felt welcome immediately when I came to register. Dimitry was great and did great at training a new employee explained everything. Dr. OYASU WAS THE BEST DR IN ER I HAVE HAD EXPLAINED ALOT TO ME AND EXCELLENT BEDSIDE MANNERS
Im literally writing about my niece that just died in this Hospital yesterday and Im not pleased with the service they gave her was given no attention or care, even though her status was critical. She literally ranged for the nurses so many times and they didnt come in to see about her and it directly resulted in her immediate death.. She literally text the family and said shell die in here before they come see about me.....That is exactly what happened.Im in tears writing this I strongly wouldnt refer no one to this Hospital at all😭😭😭😭
Call light not given to the patient. if you use the call light it is turned off at the nursing station and no response given. Needed to ask if I could bring in food to a 90+ patient that has been in there emergency room system more than 7 hours. I have more than 40 years medical experience both military and civilian. This is unprofessional. Saddest thing is if you call 911 in Waukegan, this is the hospital they take you to.
(I never make reviews but I had too for this)........Ok if you value your life DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM. NO ONE CARES THERE...THERE STAFF SEEMS VERY YOUNG AND UN PROFESSIONAL. WHEN I ARRIVED FRIDAY 11-19-2021 THERE WAS A LINE AT REGISTRATION DESK. THE LADY BEHIND THE DESK WALKED AWAY AND LEFT EVRYONE WAITING TO BE CHECKED IN STANDING THERE. I EXPLAINED TO HER I WAS HAVING FRIEGHTING PAINFUL CHEST PAINS. IT TOOK THEM ABOUT 25 MINUTES AFTER THAT TO GIVE ME AND EKG. once that was done I was told to wait In waiting room. This is when I found out there were people there waiting for hours. Peoplewere in pain some upset some walking out in disappointment... after sitting there in pain for 2 hours I asked what was going on the lady behind desk smiled and shrugged her shoulders and said this is how ERs work I knew then it was time to go as I was putting. my coat on to leave. I over heard and RN yes RN yell ata patient that she was frustrated and the patient was getting on her dam nerves yes she cussed at the patient. I just moved to Lake county this place is a JOKE . They need to be investigated and shut down.
I am still blown away from the exceptional experience I had at the Lindenhurst location. I have never met a set of doctors and nurses that were as kind, thoughtful, friendly, professional AND funny as the group that treated me in the emergency room on 07/03/20. Here we are a month later and I still smile when I think about my visit and I tell anyone who will listen about their amazing service. THANK YOU!!!
Overall pretty good staff and caring doctors. However my biggest concern especially with Covid, was the bathroom by outpatient check in. My wife was in for a procedure and I could not stay in waiting but could use the bathroom. I used it and informed nurse at check in that there was no soap in bathroom. She called maintenance to inform them. When I went 2 hours later there still was no soap. And finally another 1.25 hours passed and still no soap on a third visit. Also how many used this facility without proper washing of hands? Very scarry thought!!
Avoid this facility at all cost! The billing office is either incompetent or are attempting to commit fraud. Even after explaining to them that the VA would be paying the bill for my procedure and giving them all the information they required to verify this fact, they continue to try and bill me. Of course the cashier is the only one who can help with my problem, but they go home early!? They even referred me to a collection agency. NEVER come here. If you have no choice to come then have your lawyer on standby to take legal action.
My grandmother recently went in testing positive for Covid she had not eaten in 3 days and was dehydrated…they hydrated her and she was hospitalized for a total of 2 weeks+ where they DID NOT feed her…meaning she wouldn’t eat and they did not administer a feeding tube even after we requested one…she is now deceased…Thank you Vista for being the worst hospital in Lake County STILL….Law suit coming 👍🏼
Wrost experience ever.... Spent hours throwing up in the ER... no one bother to check on me or even offer a throw up bag.. Nurse call me to the back to take blood they completely left my arm black and blue. ... He sent me back to waiting room where i sat sick for over 4 hrs . My boyfriend pick me up and took me home to bed where i spent the rest of the night sick as hell.... ER didnt even bother giving me a bed. still sick, going into my 2 day of calling off work.. completely frustrated....
The technician was professional but personable. He was concerned with my comfort level. He explained the procedure and answered questions.Unfortunately I waited over a half hour after checking in for the test. No apology was offered by the receptionist for the wait as I was received by the technician. Perhaps the office was busier than I understood. If not a 35-40 minute wait is inappropriate.Overall I am satisfied, would return, and recommend this location (and technician). I rarely rate any service or experience five stars.PS. How about using small case only for the web address. I was taught using capitals equates with shouting.
Was admitted to this hospital on Thanksgiving of 2018 after a suicide attempt. My treatment here was so poor that not only did my suicidal thoughts and actions increase, I decided to refuse a supposedly life-saving treatment in an attempt to be kicked out or just die in the hospital. I spent 1 day in the er and 8 days in the psychiatric wing. With the exception of my last nurse who was brand new, all of my nurses were rude, cold, and disinterested in being helpful at all. My doctor laughed in my face when I told her that I wasnt comfortable with my treatment and wanted to be transferred, stating that there is no reason for me to want that as their treatment was of a high enough standard.I was fine with just using Word of mouth to spread my disdain for this hospital, which I did, except for the past few days Ive been having nightmares of being forced into this hospital. Where I relive all my poor treatment by this staff. My mental health has been way better since then, but the fact that its apparently a huge fear of mine to return here and I dont even live in the state anymore made me decide tto write this review, in case anyone else is thinking of making the same horrible decision my friend made when he called this hospital to help me.Edit: I contracted a blood infection, that I was told only had an iv treatment, which I had to stay in the hospital for all that time(was told 3 weeks). When I was transferred to another hospital, I was told there was an oral treatment and released two days later. So either I was lied to by my doctors or they were too incompetent to find this treatment.
Amazing staff! During my visit at Vista East, the ER staff were very attentive and willing to provide comfort. Not only was I treated with excellent care but they were also very nice to my family who came to see me. 2 techs, Nadia and OJ took me upstairs and had to move me to my bed due to being so weak (and I am a bigger woman). They were so kind and understanding. There was another young man, Jon I think, who carried my walker up. Great customer service at this place 10/10 would recommend!
Worst hospital of my life! They take for ever to check you in they give you nothing to be comfortable with spend 8 hours here for nothing it was the most waste of time ever! Nurse was nice but the dr didn’t do anything barley looked over me. Skip this hospital if you can. They can’t even give you water, pillow, blanket. They leave you waiting uncomfortable even if your are in massive pain.
Cam to the hospital on 27 with chest pain $ coughing up blood I want to go home now I have to work tomorrow, they are not paying me for sitting here .I need to make my own money to pay my bills even though this hospital is the closest to me I will not come back here even if I die
I have an broke. Ankle I had a splint on it but it got wet bed so I went to get another one and 3 different nurses one didnt put it o. Right to lose the 2nd one yell at me that its one right them the 3 nurse cam redid it and there is no sport around my ankel help ceo owner higher up need to fix this and put ypu nurse throw more training
We were here with my Father in law and we had a Horrible experience with the ICU. Some nurses were OK, some didnt have a clue what they were doing. Alarms would go off and no one would come in for 15+ minutes. At one point, he was sedated, my husband and I were sitting in chairs away from him, not saying one word. All of a sudden, his ventilator alarm started going off and he was choking and gurgling. My husband got the nurse. She said we needed to stop freaking out. It happened a second time. We didnt freak out. The third time it was continuous so I went to his side. His eyes were wide open, half rolled back, as he was choking. The nurse came In and said you need to stop talking to him and touching him; Im going to increase his sedation like I said, we were quiet as could be and had not been near him; it just happened all of a sudden but we got the blame for it; plus no one was touching him at all when she said that, nor when the choking started. All the nurses and doctors gave us contradicting information the whole time he was there. They seemed to ignore the paperwork from the ambulance stating his allergies and gave him 2 of the 3 meds he is allergic to. Two of the doctors admitted the allergic reactions could have been the cause of some of his additional, life threatening issues. But they claim they didnt know. They wouldve known if they had read the paperwork from the ambulance. He already had 0 faith in hospitals and Doctor staff and now I understand why. He was here for a job so he had no choice which hospital to go to when the ambulance was called. We wouldve had him transferred if we thought he could make it to another hospital. Dont risk your life or your loved ones life at this hospital if u can at all help it.
Let me make it clear that I have no complaints about any of the nurses or my doctors. They were wonderful. The nurses were very efficient in spite of being overloaded with all they have to do. I do have complaints regarding their nursing assistants. They often made more work for the nurses. On top of that the sanitary conditions of the hospital rooms were deplorable. In the room of which I was first admitted in, I only saw a lady use a Swifter and empty the garbage. However, I was only in that room for a short time, as I was taken up to the Cardiology ward stat. Never saw housekeeping once. Dirt was accumulated in the corners of the room, looking like someone just did a quick swipe...baseboards were filthy. The nurses assistant emptied the garbage can. How in the world can this be good for patients with heart conditions, or any kind of illness? Then there was an issue with staff only having two machines for tests, one was down, and arguing in front of patients, (myself) about who gets to use the one. On top of that they kept delaying a test my doctor had ordered. One that I needed before he could do a procedure that was rather urgent. How in the world are they getting any accreditations?...Oh and I havent received anything in regards to a survey. Wonder why? I also have an issue regarding admittance not listening to the fact of the doctors orders to admit me immediately, and questioning me like they werent going to admit me. If there wasnt a bed ready, then I was to go emergency, but she acted like I couldnt do that either. I was very weak, and finally lost my cool telling her I dont care what she has to do, Im to be admitted. She had the doctors orders!
Careless and lazy staff my daughter is in here for mental issues and the way there going about it is no since of urgency, a don’t care attitude and waiting on a phone call for the last 3hrs for a person to come evaluate her. The way this is going there not even going to give her the correct care that’s needed. I DREAD coming to this hospital.
I had taken a friend to the ER for chest pain and an entire team assisted us immediately. The ER nurses were excellent - responsive, informative and caring. The ER MD, Sara Ferrera, was exceptional. She explained what tests needed to be done and was diligent about communicating results and consulting with the on call cardiologist. Every tech including X-ray, CT and EKG/ECHO was professional, helpful and considerate. I was very impressed with the service and grateful for the top quality care provided.
I would give zero stars if possible. Unfortunately while on vacation I had a kidney stone. This is hands down the worst hospital I have ever been to. I had to grab my own vomit bag. There was no towels in the room and therefore I used my own clothes to wipe the vomit off my face. Next the nurse did the IV wrong. My arm was puffing up around the site. When I asked the nurse if this was normal she responded Does it hurt? To which I said only when you put in medication. She responed Thats OK then. The doctor saw me for no more than 1 minute time, which is fine, but the doctor charge was 1800 alone. Finally the bill! Literally 6 months before I had the same exact thing with scans at another hospital. The bill was under 1,000. It was over $10,000 at this hospital! Seriously that it is how much it cost for me to have a c-section at a different hospital. Then it took months for Vista to get my insurance processed correctly.
My mother in law was seen by Dr. Wren and I have to say the care by her, Luz the nurse, the techs Kyle,, Jose and Alonso; CT & x-ray was incredible. They all took the time to explain to my family what was going on and what was to be expected . I cannot say enough about the staff in the ER and the care given to both my mother in law & family!
I had a sleep study done with Vista at their Lindenhurst location and was really impressed with the entire experience. I had done a sleep study prior at another facility and this was hands down a much better experience. Adam, who ran my study, was an absolute pleasure to work with. He explained everything prior to doing it. You could tell he was passionate about his work because he got excited explaining how everything works. He made sure i was comfortable and that all my questions were answered. Prior to falling asleep, I was tossing and turning a lot and Adam noticed. He asked if i was alright and I explained that I was cold. He brought me in another blanket. I was very comfortable considering all the wires I had attached to my body.I also have had lab work and an x ray done at Vista and was pleased with the process. The women in registration who assisted me was very friendly and explained that she has been with Vista for years. You could tell she knew a lot about the hospital and enjoyed working there. I explained that I didnt know where to go next so she actually escorted me to the testing waiting room. I really appreciated her taking the time to do that. There I only waited a few minutes and the staff was friendly. I honestly dont know why there are so many bad reviews on Vista because everyone that I have encountered have been nothing but competent and kind.
My dad was brought to the ER for a bad infection last week. Dr. Ralph and his nurse Jordyn were phenomenal!! Even the young man that did his vital signs was wonderful. They answered all our questions and made sure my dad was comfortable at all times. I was so scared when we first arrived but they had my dad feeling better and admitted to the hospital in no time. The staff here is nothing but caring and professional. Thank you Vista!
Just received the second bill for charges already paid by Blue Cross. FRAUD or just incompetence? If you are unfortunate enough to interact with this organization be sure to check any bills they send. Chances are they have already been paid by your insurance. It is mind boggling that an organization so incompetent can continue to do business.
Back on December 2018 The staff were rude as they could be.This year in June I delivered my twins and I have to admit the staff were much better and helpful. As people are unemployed the few that still have a job are learning to appreciate it and enjoy it as it should be. Thanks healthcare workers for being at the front line!
I delivered at Vista East and received excellent care! Dr. Chen, all of the delivery and lactation nurses were phenomenal (especially both Bris and Tori)! Everyone was very informative and extremely attentive even with their busy schedules and multiple patients. I cant rave enough about my experience.
After personally dealing with Loretta I can see why this place has 2.5 star rating on google. The customer service is awful. I work for a provider and was looking to schedule a patient for an MRI. Loretta seemed to be annoyed she was asked to schedule a patient. the entire experience was just bad. she lacked proper training and just basic mannerisms.
The nurses were horrible for my husband when he was there and in a lot of pain. The nurse made him reach for his pills in a way that was very painful, when she could have easily given them to him. He ended up accidentally knocking the pills onto the floor and the nurse was a jerk about it.
We had our baby here 8/9 , such a fantastic experience. dr. finseth is amazing she made everything seem easy. all the nurses we had were absolutely fantastic. wish I remembered all of their names. had a bit of a wait to be discharged but totally understandable with all those babies being born. Ill never forget the experience here. voice concerns immediately and to every nurse you see, everyone has different tips and tricks that will work as long as you ask for help. thank you vista for providing excellent help :-)
Worst hospital in the Midwest and by far in Illinois. Lazy staff, careless to patients and at the least cant never answer a phone an connect you with your loved one. Please by all means if you truly care about your health or a loved one you would skip Vista and go straight to Condell. 😊
Absolutely horrible experience. Took my newborn son here to get lab work done, and one of the nurses, Pam, we dealt with was coughing onto her hand, didn’t wash them or sanitize them before going to touch him before we said something before she did, tried multiple times to stick him and couldn’t, and 2 other staff members had to try before failing and coming to the conclusion to stick his heel. The room we were in was not clean, and the waiting room was also dirty.
Dr.Oyasu is a phenomenal doctor! He handled my situation in such a timely manner and even had me laughing while I was feeling my worst. Id be so thrilled to have him as my dr any unfortunate future visit I make to Vista. He knew what he was talking about and answered all my questions with no hesitation. My nurses were julie and lisa and wow they are great too. Awesome experience even though Im feeling sick. The staff here is wonderful.
My wife was taken to Vista in Lindenhurst and had to be transferred to Vista hospital in Waukegan both locations treated us with the utmost respect and dignity I especially want to point out the three nurses we dealt with at the Waukegan location Christi and John where my wifes nurses they were amazing and as a hospital youre very lucky to have them they went way above and beyond on the care they bestowed on us you can tell when somebody really loves their job and helping people they were located on the observation rooms on the fifth floor, we have been in hospitals in the past and havent even come close to the quality care we received from these two we also had a wound care nurse that was dealing with my wifes situation I forgot her name but she explained everything extremely well and made sure we understood about the maintaining and cleaning the issue she had been suffering from. You dont get that everywhere usually you just follow up with your family practitioner. We are sincerely grateful we got to meet these three individuals and made an unfortunate time in our lives more tolerable and comfortable
I had my first baby here. I was induced and having contractions that were 2 minutes apart much sooner than they thought and no one checked my cervix. I then got an epidural. About 2 or 3 hours later I threw up and kept telling the nurse something was wrong, but no one checked my cervix. A little while later, the nurse finally got the doctor and checked my cervix. The head of my baby was already half out!!!!Then I asked about breastfeeding. They got a lactation consultant, who is certified based on experience and not education. She couldnt get my baby to latch. He bit me. I got moved to another room, and they checked his mouth and all they said was that his jaw was tight. I kept trying to breastfeed him; every nurse had a different tip. I rarely saw a lactation consultant and when I did, they were in the room for less than 10 minutes. My breasts were bloody and bruised. I couldnt feed my baby. They told me to pump and I tried, but my supply was decreasing because of the lack of feeding. The lactation consultant fed my baby formula. I was devistated. The last day his mouth was evaluated again and more time was spent with me. I left with tools to encourage him to latch and I thought I was ok. Nothing improved. At 2.5 momthm, I paid an independent lactation consultant to look at him after asking about tongue tie to 2 different pediatricians, and discovered that my little one has tongue tie. The hospital should have evaluated this and fixed it when I was there. I was naive. The new family center is terrible, over worked, and uneducated. My breastfeeding experience was ruined because of them.
Took my son in because he had fallen and had a possible broken or fractured ankle. We were seating in the ER waiting at night around 7:30pm for at least 1.5 hours. We got up to ask the nurse register us in how much longer and she responded that she didn’t know since they go by how severe the patient comes into ER. Which I completely understand but when you’re seating for almost 2 hours and they only take 2 people to the back for medical care and no one too severe comes in, C’mon it’s unacceptable. This ER is turning into Stroger hospital in Chicago. On Too if that the nurse that takes vitals after registration wanted my son to stand up on his own when we came in for a possible fractured ankle. Worse hospital I’ve been to.
My Mom broke her hip and was admitted to the 4th floor. The nursing staff and doctors could not have been nicer or more patient. Dr. Chow and Dr. Nalawi (Cardiologists) were wonderful and patient and explained everything very well. The ER staff was wonderful as well. Ralph - PA was amazingly caring, friendly and patient. He explained things very well and did everything he could to make my Mom comfortable and tried to accommodate us as quickly as he could. We had a very warm and caring experience. The only complaint we had is that it took a long time to get a bed for my Mom after she was admitted into the ER.
The service in labor and delivery for me has been phenomenal with my very ill wife . Dr Jamil and Dr Idries thanks for my changing my perspective on Vista. No words are enough to appreciate the service you do. You as doctors and the staff at your clinic has been really helpful and supportive. Thank you for all your service.
Absolutely the worst. Untrained rude staff! Nurses openly arguing in front of patients. What a mess. Get it together Vista! You CAN and should do better than this. Update: I called to speak with someone in charge of nursing staff and was treated as if this was normal there. Very unprofessional. I reported them to DHS and my insurance. Hopefully they can retrain staff or maybe consider more qualified people. So, for the old guy on here who keeps singing praise for Vista... I think they may have pulled the wool over your eyes. Or maybe you have never experienced a serious health problem that requires real professional, qualified people. You may want to check them out a little further before chastising people for exercising basic human rights.
Dreadful service!!! If you’re here for a covid test before surgery, you’ll have to wait at least an hour! The receptionist doesn’t keep track of who gets here first so I had to ask multiple times to go back. Meanwhile, everyone else Who got there AFTER me was told to go back before I did. Awful service! Maybe use a number system to keep track of who is next or something.Once I was sent to the back, I then waited ANOTHER hour to get the test done! Go somewhere else if you can! Their service is awful!!
Just delivered my baby here the morning before last and I am so pleased with both the labor & delivery staff as well as the post partum staff. Labor and delivery nurses were attentive and respectful of all of my birth wishes, frequently referring to the birth plan I had brought with me. They didnt bother me with questions and paperwork while laboring, but instead went over things with my doula and husband and left me to labor in peace. Dr Harris was AMAZING. She knows how to speak to and treat a woman giving birth. She was absolutely concerned with following my birth plan and she is so patient and respectful. I really feel fortunate to have had her assist me in delivering my baby, and making sure everything went smooth and safely. It was pretty much a natural hospital birth dream come true thanks to Dr. Harris and the wonderful nurses on the floor that night/morning. As for post partum care these ladies are some of the sweetest and attentive! Exactly what you want when trying to recover from birth and bond with your new baby! Flor, Lauren, and Tori are angels!
I have been to more hospitals and through more pussy just that I can count in my life. I have had a lot of traumatic injuries and experienced more than I care to think about. I had to go back to this hospital twice because the cats can broke on my first appointment. I was nervous because of the negative reviews but then realized that its a lot easier for people to put negative reviews than positive review. I have a very bad injury and the tests are not easy to do because of your status of my injuries. I was treated with kindness care and professionalism beyond my expectations. yes it is an older Hospital, but I could not be more pleased with my experience. the radiologist that did my arthrogram before my MRI and he was just plain amazing. I would go back to this hospital or recommend them to anybody in the future. I have a very very damaged shoulder. this hospital got me in sooner than anybody else in the just a wonderful job. thank everybody at this hospital. Jeff Roti
I am truly shocked by the good reviews on this hospital, it must be paid reviews or people that work at this hospital.my brother and his kids were in a really bad car accident and were brought to this hospital, first and foremost the staff were rude, arrogant and had a terrible attitude, they refused to keep us informed of my nieces medical condition, they lack of care, compassion and dont care for their patients specially if your are Hispanic.
Doctor on call was rude and condescending for all of the 5 minutes he was available. Nurse wasnt seen for over an hour even after request. Patient was not rehooked back to monitor after a test was done as he was supposed to be, blood was never drawn in a timely fashion, and obviously, rounds must not be done in the ER either because noone bothered to check in...very dissatisfied.
They dont really make efforts to find or resolve issues. I had a bone sticking out of my foot. No xray was done. They just gave pills and sent me on my way. I also went bcuz I was in excruciating pain. I cld not move and pain was worst with every breath. Staff talked to me for less than five minutes, nothing else. Did not investigate if anything was broken or fractured. Didnt look for anything. This place does the bare minimum and obviously does not care much for patients.
I had a terrible back pain with cramps and fainting yesterday morning and had to call 911 since I got trapped in my bed and couldnt move at all. The ambulance took me to this hospital, and I was in ER until 10:45 pm. I had to wait forever until a nurse came and talked to me. I asked her to give me some pain medication because I desperately needed to use the bathroom. She literally told me if you have to go to restroom get up and go! I tried to move a 1/2 on my bed and screamed aloud and couldnt breathe from most horrible pain and cramps, and she told me to just walk to the restroom! I was in a very painful position on my side and wasnt even able to turn on my back. Then another nurse came and gave some painkillers, but they didnt work. I was in horrible pain and had to press the call button several times until he came back and started an IV. Then first nurse came and started grabbing my stomach that was hurting of holding the pee for hours. I got terrible cramps again and started crying - she yelled at me that I had to control myself! Just unbelievable. After the IV my husband basically carried me to the restroom. They did X-ray and ultrasound that didnt show much (they had to do MRI to see the herniated disk that I had). It was getting worse and the cramps and pain wouldnt stop, but nobody came for a long time even after I pressed the call button. At about 10pm they told me I have to get on a wheel chair and get out. I was chocked. I wasnt even able to get on a wheelchair from the bed. Then the doc came (for the first time!) and ordered some more heavy painkillers and after half an hour with great difficulty I was seated to a wheel chair, and my husband took me home. All the pharmacies were closed and I had to wait in pain until past 8am when my hubby brought me the strong painkillers they prescribed. We already paid $350 and Im sure will receive a huge bill for their help. Stay away from that place! Utter disrespect and negligence.
Took my 3 year old son into the ER due to constipation, we originally spoke with our Pediatrician who instructed us to take him to the ER. As soon as I got in within about 1/2 hour we were called back for his vitals, then told to wait in the waiting room. We waited a few hours then finally got called back only to be told they will order xrays (took five minutes), they told us to wait to be called for xrays, waited another hour or so and they never called us to take him in. How can a hospital expect a toddler who is in pain to wait over 3-4 hours to be seen! We ended up leaving and will go to another hospital. Very unprofessional and will NEVER go back to this hospital again!
I was in the hospital 3 different times in a month, with heart issues (5th floor). Each and every time, I felt I got excellent care (except one nurse-who thought she was a doctor or better than others - but bad). The doctors have a tendency rush at you, at first, but can be politely stopped(with respect) if you have your primary. The nurses and nurse techs are all GREAT, CARING, COMPASSIONATE, KNOWLEDGABLE PEOPLE! Housekeeping is always up for suggestions on cleanliness- and have great pride- very important! TO THE WHOLE HOSPITAL - Keep up the Great Work!! God Bless All
My husband was admitted here 04/26-04/28. They failed to provide us with information about the antibiotics, failed to provide a colonoscopy and sent him home. Not to mention the discharge nurse was rude and stated that the discharge paperwork is also a clearance form for work (ITS NOT). And when told that we would go to patient relations she claimed that there was no such thing at that hospital. The paperwork given was so out of order and hard to understand. Two weeks later And we are now at advocate condell where they are now going to perform a surgery because they found a MASS at the same location of the body he was having pain in when i took him to vista.DO NOT GO HERE!! Even a doctor from advocate condell stated we did a good choice to come to a different hospital.
This was the absolute worst hospital I have ever been too! Dirty, (cigarett butt on the ER room floor/garbage on the counter)staff was rude & very reluctant to answer or help. Brought in by ambulance & sat in hallway for 30minutes before being shown to a room that had been empty the entire time. Sat in the room for 45minutes before being seen by anyone, did I mention brought in by ambulance? Charges on my bill for medication I NEVER recieved & tests I did not have. Would not take my dying enemy to this hospital!
I came in to give blood for a glucose test. I called a day before to make an appointment, but they only do walk-ins. After giving lab order, insurance card and driving license to the registration person, I was asked to wait. Half hour later I was called inside. I thought that I was finally get the blood taken, but apparently I was called in to register. After another 15 minutes, I was sent to the lab. There I had to sign in, and wait another 15 minutes. Finally, I was called in by the lab technician to draw blood. It took 5 minutes. So, for 5 minute test, I had to wait for 1 hour, and talk be registered by 3 people. This is the most inefficient lab, I have ever been to. On top of that all, I was 36 weeks pregnant and fasting (no food, no water). I was extremely thirsty by the time it was my turn to give blood. I even had some stomach pain after I left.I would highly recommend them to start scheduling appointment, and stop wasting patients time. The whole lab structure needs to be rearranged. It just seems very wasteful to have so many people working, and be that slow - terrible service.
I had great care on the medical surgical floor when I was an inpatient there for 3 days in March, 2018.. They were very attentive and caring and answered all my questions and I was happy with their care. I would give it a 5 except a couple things. The food was horrible and they gave me some food I didnt order. I can see most of the reviews are based on experiences in the ER. The Vista East ER is very chaotic but they get a lot of patients there that have mental problems and very unpleasant. They have to deal with a lot. I went to the ER in Lindenhurst - much less chaotic. They take people in the ERs who are most sick or have REAL EMERGENCIES in order of their condition. Part of the problem is that people use ERs as urgent care or walk in clinic. It is for EMERGENCIES. Anyway, my care was great and I would go to that floor again if I needed to be in the hospital. Ive had outpatient tests there and also received great care.
This is the was the worst hospital stay I have ever. When I got there the miss diagnosed me, they made my stay there for 4 days , then told me they didnt know what was wrong and sent me home. All so they can charge me more money because this hospital is losing money and try to scam the people they are suppose to help. Also i was sent a bill more than 4 months after my stay even though I had already paid it off.
Horrible Hospital!!!! Walked in the ER and the staff looked at me like I was bothering them. I was talked to about 3 min then they left me. Never checked on me They came in and said I was very dehydrated instead of giving me a iv. I was told drink water at home. They never said what was wrong I was given discharge papers in less than an hour and they told me to go. I told them I came by ambulance and I need to find a ride home.they told me they can give me a bus pass. I had to leave the room for me to sit in the lobby till I figured it out.So I found a ride went to northwestern lake Forest hospital the gave me an iv to hydrate me.. they to good care of me.
I was sent to Vista Lindenhurst for an MRI due to insurance requirement. Following the MRI I had to see a surgeon at a separate facility. During that visit he stated he was unable to open the online images forwarded to him and stated he needed an actual disc with the images. I contacted Vista East medical records via phone to request the disc. They referred me back to the Lindenhurst facility. I then contacted the Lindenhurst facility and was told that I would be able to pick up the disc on Saturday or the following Monday at the Lindenhurst facility. I went to pick the disc up and was informed that they did not have it nor did they have a record of my request. I could not stay to hash things out due to an appointment with the surgeon and being on a tight schedule.I just returned from an appointment with the surgeon, who needs the disc to determine course of treatment, which is now delayed longer due to Vista not providing competent customer service. It is bad enough I had to drive twenty minutes from my house to the Lindenhurst location twice, once to get the MRI and the second time to attempt to get the disc. But now my care is delayed further by poor customer service.
This hospital****his DOCTOR**** let my brother die due to mis communication and the doctor that was in his care was unprofessional in his line of career. We are talking about someones life someone loved one someones brother cousin son.. its truly sad how my brother lost his life due the doctor in his poorly actions.
This is one of the worst hospitals by far. Don’t let you family member go to this hospital! Patient relations and the nursing supervisor is absolutely no help in reference to any complaints and concerns. They ask as though they are concerned but completely disregard the patient and family’s wishes! I intend on reaching out to News as well as joint commission.
4 day stay ended with me discharging myself. Went in for pancreatitis. Sat in the waiting room in excruciating pain, hardly able to breath for 4 hours before making it back into the E.R once back there I sat for 9 hours getting poked by nurses who had no idea how to insert an i.v one of them missing my vein and blowing my arm up with fluids For an hour and a half before anyone came to check. 9 hours in enough pain I couldnt move, I was hardly able to breath. No one checked in to see if I was even alive at this point. (Pancreatitis feels like youre dying) finally made it to a room at about 8 am, and its a horror film from there. Long story short, I wouldve actually 100% for real died had I stayed. The nurses are wonderful, but the DOCTORS HAVE ABSOLUTELTY NO IDEA AS TO WHAT THEY ARE DOING. Literally sat in a room while they doped me up and made my situation 10 times worse than it was upon arrival. You can express your concern untill youre blue in the face and theyll just give ya another shot of nod out and leave it at that. 100% do not reccomend.
I tore my hamstring tendon, off of my femur. I was in allot of pain. I went to the Vista ER in Lindenhurst, IL. where ER Dr. Kenji Oyasu immediately calmed me down and help eliminate some of the pain. Dr. Oyasu refered me Dr. Mark Hamming, Illinois Bone & Joint, where a MRI and diagnosis was made. I am very thankful for the guidance I received from Dr. Oyasu. My leg was surgically repaired, and I am currently healing.
Never going back ever again!!! My 17months son had a seizure last week paramedics came in and we decided to take him there, as soonest we came into the ER they took our information of course insurance after that we were in the waiting room for about 30 minutes, finally we were given a room where we stood there for about 2 hours without anyone coming to check on him, his vitals or ask us how were we doing. I went to ask them what was happening and they were all standing in the middle having their own conversations. Decide to take my son to Children Memorial Hospital (the best hospital, which they need to learn how a real hospital should be) in Chicago Downtown an hour away from there. The funny part is that I drive all the time by route 41 and they have a sign with the waiting time for the ER and it always says 3, 5, or 7 minutes which is a lie, been there twice and it always happens the same. Also is very dirty, the kids session in the ER super dirty the tables, chairs it reminds me of the old Cook County. They really need to improve everything, especially when theyre dealing with peoples lifes.
Give this star to this hospital absolutely not, because Vista Medical Center East is the worst hospital I have ever encountered. They are not about saving lives there about murdering people. 18 month old little boy sent home Doctor said he had a cold when he had meningitis and died less than 24 hours later as well as another little girl around the same age sent home n died from Meningitis. My cousin had a lump on her bronchial tube. They said she needed open heart surgery they did the surgery she was sent home then return to the hospital and ended up in ICU critical condition died a week later. She also had down syndrome and was only 20 years old.A dear friend of mine Just passed away at that hospital from a motorcycle accident all he had was a broken leg a cracked rib They did surgery for his leg he had sleep apnoea they did not monitor him properly he began to vomit loss oxygen for God knows how long they tried recessitation And send him to ICU on life support. This is pure negligence on this hospital and all of its staff members. I hate this hospital with a Passion and I hope and pray that they will be shut down.
I went for an ankle xray on Tuesday. The imaging staff was so caring and helpful. Ive heard some people talk about Vista. Before going out of your way to go to Lake Forest or Libertyville, stay local & give Vista a try. They might just surprise you with how much they have improved!
🤠😱If you dont have anywhere else to go, or you need emergency care, then this is the place for you. If you can get to another hospital, i e lake Forest, or condell, you would do yourself a favor, trust me. My father-in-law went there for severe head pain, the doctor wanted to operate on his brain! The doctor said he saw a tumor, my wife ended up getting him to another hospital, they found out that he had a stroke, a brain bleed, not a tumor on his brain. Make no mistake, this hospital has saved lives, and they have some very good physicians that work out of this hospital. Dr. Jonathan Citow ✔️is one of them. They are woefully understaffed, even in intensive care. 🤔The employees will tell you that themselves. The bar is set pretty low concerning employment at this hospital. You can tell the difference in the level of interaction with the patients in this hospital.🤕🤧😷
Recently had my yearly checkup with Dr. Snower who is part of (VPG) Vista Physician Group. It was a very positive experience. The front office was very friendly and helpful with questions I had. Dr. Snowers medical assistant made me feel comfortable while she did the intake process before Dr. Snower came in. Dr. Snower is always very pleasant and caring. She takes the time to listen to you, do a great exam and make sure everything is taken care prior to leaving the office. Thanks for helping me meet my health care goals.
On 12/29/2021 I was there with my mom that’s had pain in her all body it seem that’s she had COVID so I take her to this hospital I sighed in and I said to the lady that my mom has a emergency and she was like “ everyone has a emergency in this room young lady” I was like can somebody attend my mom she is crying of pain and nobody was helping her we went there at 4:00 am and we didn’t get attended so we left at 8:00am
Can I give them a half of a star? Only 4 nurses saved the day for them! I had a terrible experience. Everything from rude CNAS , a doctor who was barely in communication, to finding a (used) hypodermic needle in my bed! Just a terrible experience, run down facility, nurses who said to me make sure to use your slippers the bathroom floors are so disgusting (mind you this was in my room). A lot to write about in an email when I leave.
I would like to share the extreme disappointment in my familys Victory/Vista experience...ever. We took our father to the ER facility in Lindenhurst on Friday morning, 7/4/2014. What a superb experience. We were told at this facility what needed to be done with our fathers hernia surgery...plasma, vitamin K, etc. Once we arrived at Vista and my father was assigned to a room (514B),it was horrible experience. He was in a tremendous amount of pain. He was uncomfortable, tired and agitated. He was placed in a room with a patient who we believe had special needs...groaning and yelling, and his IV alarmed continuously with no attention or assistance. We had to press call light button for assistance. After numerous hours of this, and my father still hadnt received pain meds, we asked to have my father moved to another room. Thankfully we were accommodated. My father still hadnt received pain meds. We had a hospitalist on the board along with the surgeon, who, the hospitalist never rounded or called back in reference to my fathers pain. Once moved, a different shift hospitalist visited my dad, however, it took the surgeon to call in the pain meds (I heard that personally through report from day shift nurse to night shift.) My father, 13 hours after arriving at an emergency care facility, finally had his surgery...Dr. Scheer!!!! Superb. After surgery/recover, my father was taken back to his room, 514B, where he was lifted by sheets (tech forgot transport board) in to his bed. The nurse came in and said she would be back. My father, with heart/blood condition, lay there with NO MONITORS, IV,...NOTHING!!!!! We had to demand to the nurses station that my father get the necessary equipment to monitor his heart and vitals, ESPECIALLY after surgery. After my father was hooked up, I decided to spend the night with him because I did not trust your hospital staff to care for our father. VERY, VERY UNFORTUNATE. Then, upon returning today, we see a sign on his previous room door ... STOP...CONTACT PRECAUTION. So, you had an empty room and decided to place our father in a contagious environment (MRSA?!!!) This is absolutely pathetic and unacceptable. We will never, not even if dying, be under the care of VISTA. Your surgeons were great and will follow them to Condell in future if needed. Serious staff, work and care need to be done at this hospital. We did have Bev and Tony who were really good, rounding hourly.
This place was horrible. I had to go in on a Sunday (last November) bc I had dizziness and uncontrollable cough, like I had the flu. Vikas Patel was the MD. They werent able to diagnose flu symptoms bc they never tested for it (by swabbing out my sinuses which is the correct test for flu). They just discharged me w/diagnosis of a bad cold. Next day, when I was examined at the Navy base, I was properly diagnosed with Influenza-A. While at Vista, they left me alone on the bed for hours. I had to call out to get staffs help (they didnt provide a call button); they made me feel like I was a burden. Whats more, the intake clerk at Vista didnt annotate my health insurance info correctly, so rather than Tricare getting the bill, I got a bill for $1858. Next time I get sick, I definitely will avoid this place. Shoddy work and inept staff.
How is this hospital still running? Someone needs to SHUT THIS HOSPITAL DOWN NOW! This place has the WORST patient care. Money WASTED on this hospital and its USELESS staff that could go towards a different hospital. I tried calling about a family member that was sent here and I kept getting transferred because no one in this hospital could tell me anything about my family member. To top this off, this Indian guy who could barely speak english was the most incapable human being, YELLED AT ME AND HUNG UP THE PHONE. Who is in charge of leading this circus? They should really reevaluate the people they hire to work at this hospital. There is a REASON WHY THIS HOSPITAL HAS BAD REVIEWS. LETS BRING THIS ISSUE UP TO THE STATE OF ILLINOIS BECAUSE THIS HOSPITAL SHOULD BE FLAGGED TO WARN PEOPLE NOT TO COME HERE!
Literally worse hospital you could ever go to. Great if youre having a stroke but who discharges an 80 year old woman who had a stroke in the beginning of the year and then broke her femur WITHOUT LETTING ANYONE IN HER IMMIDIATE FAMILY KNOW AND WHERE SHES GOING. Not to mention they went against everyones wishes and sent her to the worse rehab center around and it is listed in her paperwork that she is not to make any decisions of her own.
I come in from the emergency care in lindenhurst without any problems. They move me to vista east and this clown PA is just being the rudest person I ever come across. Now the last thing I need after a minor stroke is this. No food? The bed cant be shut off all I want is sleep at this point. The part I did understand is they would not let me go have a cigarette. But if you wont feed me or shut my bed off from the horrible vibration. Look away for 10 minutes so I can have a smoke.
This review is in regards to their medical billing department. I was seen there after a car accent in December of 2014. I provided my medical information however, the accident was not my fault. Shortly afterwards I tried to provide billing information for the person responsible for the accident therefore responsible for the bill. I have continued to do this for the past year, and unfortunately continue to receive bills. I no longer have the original bill therefore no longer can find the billing departments contact number. The one on the website is never answered.Sadly this isnt the only billing issue I have had with Vista. Their Insurance verifies do not take the time to contact or actually verify that serves are covered and have contacted me for payment in advance and had me cancel a completely covered procedure. The staff at the hospital in Lindenhurst are amazing, its sad that I can no longer use there services because of their continued billing issues.
I took my daughter ER in hospital because she fell and she could open her chin so When we get there they telled us that the nurse will come and examine her She was calling in older people that came after us and they were taking them and am I has been one and as the receptionist at what time they were going and call my daughter she was bleeding and I just got upset and I went and knock at the door where the nurse was and shes like oh yeah you come in playing stupid. Then they take us in and the doctor comes and sees her and The nurse gives my daughter pain medication and an ointment to numb the chinhe took 2 hours before he could stich her, I had to last and are several times at what time to doctor was going to stich her?
Worse kind of doctors who have no respect! Nurses ignore you or will walk away mid conversation. This hospital has the wrose time management and this atmosphere does not help with the healing process. Such a terrible company. Dr. Gladson is a liar and only cares about making the most money
Horrible hospital!!!! i had my son there in 2010 and they have the worst service /nurses /staff ever! the doctor that delivered my son had barley woken up before he came into the room. while giving labor the doctor broke my sons collar bone and when i asked them for a APGAR score to see how my son was doing at birth they had no clue what i was talking about !!!! DO NOT EVER HAVE A CHILD HERE ! I cant believe that they are trusted with infants lives and have no clue what they are doing, after i had my son they through me a room that had bars on the windows and looked like a jail, they even told me my husband could not stay with me and gave me a room-mate !!! ridiculous !!!! never again will i go to this horrible place.
I was having really bad pains in my side and went to this hospital, new to the area and this was close by, they pretty much knew what was wrong when I told them my symptoms but did blood and urine work and a ct scan, had me sitting there just about all day long when i got the bill it was almost $20,000 just for sitting all day long. Next time Ill cure myself.
Horrible! I went to the ER where they didn’t diagnose me correctly, didn’t do medical tests, the physician’s assistant didn’t introduce herself or help me, ignored my complaints, said they were giving me a prescription that they didn’t and then didn’t bill me and billed my insurance incorrectly when it was a worker’s Comp injury. Additionally one of the nurses was loudly talking about a sexual assault victim. Don’t go here. Go anywhere else.
My boyfriend had to go to the emergency room. There was some Really rude employees. They took hours just to get him a room. I was told I couldnt spend the night only a parent or guardian. My boyfriend told me that they told him his mom couldnt spend the night either she had to leave. I dont understand, I dont trust the employees there.
I don’t even know where to start the charge nurse Jessica an another nurse in the emergency targeted my family falsely called dcfs lied an said I left my son when I didn’t I was in the room the whole Time an sent police to my home while i was at the hospital with my son while my kids were home with a adult family member
Following an Endoscopic examination, I awoke from the procedure to find my front teeth snapped off at the root. The teeth were found laying on the pillow, and the same-day surgery staff had no idea that there had been a problem. I was assured the hospital would cover the cost of dental correction, but within a week the hospital backed out. Too bad, soo sad...you agreed to have the examination, your teeth are not our problem.
I give it 1 star bc staff was nice. I have 2 problems. One, when i delivered my daughter I asked for a lactation consultant and there wasnt one to help me try & latch my daughter on correctly. Two, the nurse spelled my daughters name wrong and now her name is wrong on her Social Security card. Way to go Vista!
First visit last july, had a psyciatric breakdown and they had a psyciatrist evaluate and was very cold and unkind. Was sent to local psyciatric hospital, whole other story there. My second visit to vista was this Feb, took xrays and said nothing wrong, but i couldnt move left arm below elbow. Went to condell and they found broken wrist and broken radius.
I was a patient at Visita East during the time of November 8th through the 14th and I had the best care from the floor five West and would recommend anyone to go there. Their staff is very professional, very empathy, was readily available and my room was very clean. I know I had the best care and would recommend anyone to visit.
Normally, I hate ERs. I have conversion disorder and most er docs think Im making it up. This visit was a great experience. I had Ralph Seymour, PA. He knew about my disorder with seizures amd treated me with kindness, compassion, and understanding. I am extremly grateful for him. He helped me above and beyond standard of care. Thank you Ralph Seymour! Im thankful for you!
I would rate this place lower than poor. My mom went her and they diagnosed her with a brain tumor (only thing they did right). They released her and siad to have radiation treatment for the tumor. Three days later she was going downhill quickly, so we returned to Vista East in the ER. They treated her for a knee condition (not the reason for the visit0. Then when I tried to tell the ER doctor why we were there (she was shaking uncontrolablly and her eyes were swelled shut), he said it was because of the medications she was on. When I said to him that she was on these three days ago when she was in Vista and these problems didnt occur, he said to be honest she just needs to be in a nursing home. We went to Northwestern after leaving the ER and found out if we would have done the radiation treatment it would have killed her. She is now on her way to a full recovery. The staff was also very difficult to work with and not caring to my moms needs. I would not go here. I wouldnt even send a diseased rat there.
Worst place to work! Leadership team there is unprofessional to say the least from the CFO Pam Hill on down! They dragged these hillbillies from Tennessee and thought they were doing something spectacular. These people are so unfamiliar with the surrounding communities and the people they are serving. Demanding the last cent from a person who is literally in their death bed and does not have a pot to p*ss in! They can care less about their health. If they cant pay theyll force the case managers to find a way to get them out. Pam Hill is a joke and so are many supervisors/managers under her especially the chunky woman manager in the ER along with their business office department. That is why the turn over is so high. Ask them how many directors they have had in the past two years. Brow raiser. So, if you are considering this junk as a place of employment save yourself a headache and run!
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Went to the emergency room and there were fights, people throwing chairs, cursing the staff out. SECURITY IS A JOKE. They just stood around like they were scared of the people. Not to mention the wait time was horrible. They need to throw the whole place away!!
If you have enough blood in your body, go somewhere else. I came in 28 weeks pregnant throwing up blood and they *refused* to let me see a doctor. Said I would have to be discharged and Re enter ER (where by mandate, they have to send me to OB). Curious that they never took my insurance info and I never saw a bill.Theyll let you die here.
I was in the er at the end of March then back 10dys later for the same problem last year. Im a veteran who was very very sick. The staff was rude and the doctors who treated me were only concerned with quick treatment pills and fancy words not to me their staff, when i still had questions about my HEALTH! I once again had to go to the er, but not vista Condell hospital dys later. They did what vista should of done ran more complete test!!! Condell contacted the V.A. hospital to get me and Wow. In 2 hours at V.A. hospital i was in EMERGENCY SURGERY FIGHTING FOR MY LIFE!!! If vista wasnt so bad i wouldnt of been so sick and have died twice in my surgery. Ive been in hospitals around the world in my 17yrs in the military. I wont send my worse enemies there to die. SHAME ON YOU vista!!!!!!!!
I’m here right now at the hospital but I was here yesterday with someone else and they really attended us SO FAST for ER !!!... also their helping us great and very nice medical personal, I notice how great their are doing on general, great person on reception, nurses and doctors. Great job and I really appreciate it!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😀😀😀😀😀😀
My husband was in for cardiac observation. Hours and hours went by and Dr. Chow couldnt be bothered to visit. Awful. Is it the hospital or the physician? Ridiculous. Even the on staff physician and nurses were dismayed at his total lack of patient care / responsiveness.
The staff is great, so let me put that out there first. However, this place is really outdated, and dirty. Every where you look youll find dirt. The internet is horrible too. How can they offer guest internet, yet block almost every site there is. Youre stuck in a room by yourself for days and they dont allow Netflix? I get that the internet is a courtesy, but why even bother offering it if you cant use it for anything someone who is sick would want to use it for.
DO NOT GO HERE! The first bill I received was a court summons with a dollar amount. Ive never seen this kind of treatment from a hospital, even at times in my life when I was broke and unable to pay. This is over-the-top threatening behavior. I will never use their facilities ever again. If I could give them zero stars I would.
I dont understand why, they admit you. Then act like its a problem when you need something!! Also, they said visiting hours are over at eight! Well, tell me why the chick(my roommate) and her man on the other side all caked up!! And they been in n out the bathroom, bout three times. Nastya over there freaking!! But im no hater, just mad cuz they told my husband that he couldnt stay, n they all laid up!!! So trife!! They need to stick to them rules!!!!!
I have only dealt with the radiology registrar, but I have nothing good to say about her. Gave me nothing but trouble both times I have been there --- mind you, never did have what I went there for done --- she gave me the run around about paperwork from my doctor claiming it wasnt valid, put on a fake smile, and blatantly lied to me. Do NOT go here!!!
Cant. Get any help from the black workers. The Philippines respect the patients. That evening shift wouldnt even give pain meds or water for a very dry mouth all night long. The night shifty need to looked into on work ethics bc they have horrible work ethic. Hooray to the other races you all do great work.
My 82 yr old grandfather fell down a full flight of stairs and shattered his shoulder .....well the ER doctor...Dr. Patel suggested we take him home with a sling for his arm, and to continue his blood thinning medication that same day. .more than 1 week later the man is still bleeding ..had to have a joint replacement....and now having other issues, this place is a dump, worst hell hole in Lake County.
Friday around 3:00pm I dropped off some urine samples, called today to see if they have the results and appears like the LOST the sample and the order to run the test was canceled the same day that they asked for it (on Thursday)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WAS NOT INFORMED OF THAT.😶😶😶😶😶😶😶
Customer service is only a buzz word used at this facility in the emergency arena.Employees in this area are in serious need of soft skills training. Medical staff needs lot more professionalism. Bedside manner means a lot to people who are stressed out because of illness.
VERY VERY VERY BAD HOSPITAL dont bring your babys here if they have to be looked at. They dont know what theyre doing , they leave machines unplugged and dont even notice. You ask them a question and they cant answer. Save yourself your time and AVOID THIS HOSPITAL. Im surprised you guys are still in service.

2022-06-17I was taken to this hospital suicidal. I’d had Covid twice, collapsed lung, and long Covid for a year. I’m very sick heart and lungs are failing now and I probably won’t be alive long enough to pay their $4000 bill. There was no help with my suicidal ideology, there were no X-rays. There was no tests or did a person come to my room for help on suicide and Covid until they had given me medication to sleep and I couldn’t stay awake long enough to listen from the meds. They dropped general paperwork off without explanation and discharged me. Still suicidal, probably won’t live to see this get paid.If you want to live and feel healthy do NOT go to this emergency room. There are kids in pairs of two gossiping fooling around all night. Outside my room I could see and hear everything. No provisions for suicide or Covid and nobody helped at all. Ativan and discharge is all I received. And a $6000 bill. I lost my job last October due to Covid now I’m never going to work again from that illness. They were absolutely NO help whatsoever it was all about that enormous amount of money. To Patient Experience Department... Ive tried reaching someone several times and still cannot get an answer. Thank you for responding.

2022-08-11I can honestly say the staff from the emergency room all the way to being admitted was AMAZING very tentative, caring and understanding. I was admitted 8/9/2022 until 8/11 room 522 and everyone who was assigned to my room nurses and techs went beyond to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF THAT WAS ON DUTY PERFORMED AMAZINGLY. Also Almisha Black from food service was wonderful, attentive and on time.

2022-06-13My mother was admitted 6)22 for a broken hip. She was brought by ambulance. She was in ER examinating room for 6-8 hrs before admission. I was there for a majority of that time i understand that hospitals are shrt staffed but this was a bit extreme. I will say nurses are excellent. It took 3 days for her to get the surgery. Its not The nurses fault. She had her surgery Saturday and she was very well taken care of and it was successful. Just be prepared to wait for care theyre very slow and very bad at calling you to give you info of your loved one i can see why they received a F grade.

2022-07-21No stars!!! Do not go to this hospital. My elderly father was taken there a few times recently. First time all was good the three times after were an utter disaster. Second visit he was returned to the nursing home with bed sores he did not have when he arrived. They did not follow doctors orders to leave a pik line in so treatment could continue so the poor man had to get a second pik line put in an hour after discharge. Most recently they discharged him without consent of the person with medical power of attorney. He was incapable of providing consent. He was not ready and ended up back in Vista 48 hours later but now has two new infections (pneumonia and an infection in a wound they operated on 4 days before) which he obtained at Vista. Even after speaking with a case manager, a supervisor for case management and the patient experience advocate they still fail to follow through on the doctors discharge orders (26 hours later and counting). They also refused demands to transfer to another hospital. Incompetent at every level!!! I wouldnt even recommend sending the criminals from Lake County jail there.

2022-08-15I noticed nurses working on patients without washing their hands, but most importantly, the staff has a very condescending escalating approach towards patients and visitors. I wouldnt be surprised if there were assaults on staff.

2022-05-11Let me start by saying THIS IS ONLY A REVIEW FOR VISTA MEDICAL CENTER EMERGENCY ROOM LOCATED IN LINDENHURST IL. This is by no means a review for Vista in general. On Friday morning I experienced a painful cramping in my chest. I am a woman in my mid-40s so I did what the internet (and my mother) said to do and went to the ER. First, I was greeted right away. My information was taken and probably less than 5 minutes later I was brought in to see the best ER doctor I have ever met in my life. No kidding. He was quick, he was thorough and he took all necessary precautions and tests while explaining everything. He made me feel better as I was very worried. He had an AWESOME sense of humor (kinda hard to find in a doctor) and he was extremely kind!! He listened to all of my concerns and addressed every single one. I must say that I havent always had the best experiences with Vista but Dr. Kenji Oyasu, has changed my mind. If I have a concern I will GLADLY go to VISTA MEDICAL CENTER IN LINDENHURST!! Because of the great care that I received from Dr. Oyasu I would gladly give any other doctor there a chance, but I dont think they could out do the experience I had on Friday. We can only hope. Anyway, WONDERFUL DOCTOR, QUICK CARE and I WAS FINE, Thank goodness!! Thank you!

2022-06-16The facility in Lindenhurst is the most inefficient and disorganized facility I have ever visited. Waiting to get registered and to have simple bloodwork or X-ray took well over 2 hours. When you are not feeling well to begin with, sitting this long is cruel and unbearable. I can certainly see why Vista Heath system is rated F. It is quite unfortunate to see the horrible decline over the last 10-15 years. This facility needs significant process improvements and more qualified help. Vista Executive Management it’s time for you to take serious action

2022-06-09I got to vista at 2:40 and was checked in by 2:45. A nurse met me at 3:15 to do my initial check, she then told me it would be 45 minutes before I get seen. I proceeded to wait another 4 hours just for them to tell me it’s probably going to be another few hours. This is hands down the worst hospital I’ve ever been to in my life. The staff lie to peoples faces and don’t care at all about anyone there trying to get help. I unfortunately had to come here because this is the hospital my work uses. But unless you’re forced to come here I’d recommend any other hospital in existence because this place is hands down the worst and they will lie to you just to get you to sit for hours on end

2022-07-20We have come to Vista ER many times over the years and always had a great experience. Unfortunately I cannot say this today as DR Terrell was rude , talked down to my young daughter who was sick and left her crying. Not acceptable for a Dr to treat a patient or anyone seeking his help. One star for the RN that had somewhat of a bedside manner.

2022-03-08I want to send a huge thank you to Mary Jane, Alissa, and Josephine. I was trying to get in contact with the vista in Lindenhurst and not one single person was returning my call for two months. I called their department and they handled all of my concerns within two days. Their amazing service was such a breath of fresh air! Thank you to all three of them!
