I called to talk to someone about the program, they were useless…didn’t know how to answer any of my questions, didn’t give me the time of day. I even asked to talk to the Dean and they too just didn’t care to take time out of their day to answer any if my questions. Not a very good first impression, if you don’t have customer service skills and are lacking with actual experience how are you even able to teach?!??In other news, I was however able to find a school, and a Dean who actually showed that they cared about incoming students into their programs. And unfortunately bc I was treated poorly by admissions and the dean at this school it’s unfortunate that I am here having to point out their mistakes online. should something like this happen to other people, just goes to show they are pretty srlf absorbed individuals!
My esthetician Elena was very knowledgeable, shared information about my skin every step of the way, explained what products were being used on my skin and why and what It was for. It was my first time having a facial and she calmed my nerves by educating me, and preparing me for every step of the way. I am definitely going back and maintaining my skin and requesting Elena! She is amazing! Thank you
Sarah did a great job on my facial she gave me great advice for my oily skin she also helped me find the perfect products to use.Elaina Did My Mom facial and she was impressed as well she helped her find a great serum and moisturizer for her skinThey both were awesome we will be returning soon Sarah & Elaina Thanks Ladies
USTA is an absolute gem of the western suburbs. I come here for a facial every 1-2 months, and I have never been disappointed. The students are extremely well-trained and professional and provide incredibly caring and relaxing facials. The prices are so affordable and their customer service is great. I am lucky enough to live a mile away, but if I ever move I will still drive to come here for self-care!
Response from the Owner:Thank you for considering USTA for your education. Although we were unable to enroll you at this time, we encourage you to never give up on your passion for massage therapy. USTA wishes you nothing but the best.Such a terrible response from a terrible owner. If you really care about whats best for me, then you should not have any issue enrolling a passionate and motivated individual into your program, nor judge a students knowledge and dedication by a High School transcript. All I wanted to do is to finally achieve my dream, but you shattered it, and denied me because of my High School transcript that I worked so hard for to earn. This is NOT FAIR! I do not deserve this! THIS NOT NOT FAIR AT ALL!!
UPDATE:Class was combined with another ceu course on the following week. All was rectified thanks to Ms. Angela. I am so grateful to her. Now, I can do my happy dance.ORIGINAL:There was a class scheduled for Art of Brows on April 18th for ceus. The class was cancelled the day before due to the instructor being ill. The class had no fill in instructor for the day so I was informed that the class would be rescheduled or I would be refunded. I have yet to hear from anyone. I attempted to reach out to them and no response. Time was requested off work for this class only to be notified less than 24 hours before that it was not going to happen. My time was wasted when I couldve chosen another school to attend a class or even had gone to work. I lost out on time and money. Receiving ceus is of extreme importance to renew licensure and this school is treating it as if its no big deal ant that our time is expendable. I am extremely upset regarding this situation. This is highly unprofessional and unacceptable treatment from an establishment who claims to be, one of the best.
Wow- Is what I have to say about how amazing the experience is here! You would have no idea you’re at a Training Academy- The staff is amazingly professional and sweet. Seriously had the best and most relaxing facial of my life and it was an amazing deal! Thank you Kristin for hooking me up with the fabulous samples- I’m loving this line of skin care already! Will be back regularly!
I have been going to universal spa for several years. The students are friendly and professional. They always are improving the spa experience for their clients... I received the most amazing relaxing facial from a new student Karina G. I felt like I was at a high end 200 dollar facial spa!!! I will definitely be requesting her again... hopefully she will be their for awhile... thank you again ☺️
Have been going here for years and I have been happy 90% of the time. This is a school so everything is not always perfect and sometimes with waxing it takes longer so keep that in mind when you go. I love the massages and would have one every week if I could. You need to give the student feedback because that is how they get better. Like more pressure - tell them - they will increase the pressure. It is simple but it works. I have had facials, salt glow thing (not recommended) waxing and plenty of massages. It is really great time.
I went here for the aesthetician program and I can go on and on about how amazing this place is. The school itself is gorgeous and has a true “spa” feeling the moment you walk in. I felt I was set up for success from the moment I started, to even after I graduated.I was certified in 3 different skincare company lines, and certified in medical aesthetics while training here. No other school in the area offers this to my knowledge. These certifications look great on my resume and I would say definitely helped me land a job.Speaking of resumes, after I had graduated and passed my state board, administration was so helpful in editing my resumes and cover letters to help me present myself and land a dream job!The owners care about their school, too. They come check in and make updates as needed which I think is very important. They take pride in their school, as they should. They care about education and about each student. They want you to succeed and live your dreams. Thank you to everyone at USTA.
Beautiful spa environment with great services by students. Ive had two facials and am going for my third today. Excellent prices; especially good deals at the end of the month when specials are posted. My students have been professional, pleasant and have done a darn good job. Very relaxing. I look forward to my monthly visits.
This was the worst waxing experience I EVER had. Do NOT go here to get any waxing service. My eyebrows, in between my eyebrows, and especially my upper lip are horribly burned. Not to mention, she tried to tell me how I should shape my own eyebrows and that I would need to draw them in afterwards. I had to convince her for a solid minute to just do them the way I like. She was messy and didnt even notice she left a huge patch of hair in the middle of my upper lip which is where she burned me ironically. I should have never come here. Im so upset and I called to leave a message about this so hopefully they answer but Ill have to cancel the date I have because my skin is ruined.
Loooooove it!!!!! I needed a facial so bad you guys! SOOOO bad! I had not gone to get a facial in years!!! I finally decided to try this place out and am soooo glad I did!!! I got a facial with Mari R. and let me tell you... she was amazing!!!! She has the most gentle hands when working on your face yet the awesome strong hands I love when it came to massaging my arms and upper chest/neck area. I started falling asleep and that’s when I knew I found my favorite place and favorite esthetician! Let me start off by telling you about the location! Do you like clean? Who doesn’t?! This place is sooo clean, so cute and it smells amazing!!! I walked in and it smelled like comfort! So relaxing and welcoming! Will I ever go back? I already have my next appointment scheduled! What takes me back to any business? 1. Customer service. 2. Cleanliness 3. Appearance 4. Friendly people and 5. A job well done! A star for all five of these points and that is why I rate them 5 stars!
I love USTA the students are very focused and I always receive very good treatments. Better than actually going to a spa because the students want to do a good job whereas sometimes in the spa you can tell that the tech is just going through the motions. Burnout is real. Students are excited and fresh. ♥️
IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT GOING TO SCHOOL HERE READ THIS FIRST: I have been going to school here for 3 months and it has been the worst experience i have ever had. they haven’t taught me anything, most days the instructor just talks about his personal life and really whatever he wants. the people up front that are supposed to be helping with finances, online accounts, and attendance hours, do NONE of this i have had days that i clocked in and was there the whole day not counted towards my credit hours. the only thing any of the people running this school care about is money. i attempted leaving and going to a different school but they said i would have to pay the FULL tuition and a cancellation fee. if you are thinking of going to school here i STRONGLY recommend you look into other schools.
The cleanliness of any spa facility is key in my opinion, and Universal Spa got it right. The product line used, PCA, is amazing. The students are well trained, knowledgeable and respectful. Have your next GNO here and pamper yourself weekly without breaking the bank.
Since no one can seem to answer the phone at the school no matter what extension i choose, maybe someone will answer me on here!I went to this school for over a year! Teachers are amazing. Thats the only reason id come back. However, towards the end the management besides miss fran, does not care nor do there job. My hours were always messed with and not put in until i had to demand and say something everyday about them. I graduated September 11th 2020. Applied for my boards sept 16th 2020. I called, emailed and texted multiple “managers” to send my transcripts. But no one answered. So here i am today receiving a letter from state boards stating they didnt receive my transcripts. So of course i try calling again and no answer. 😌 dont waste your time here. You wont get anywhere! Hopefully by today posting this will make someone get in contact with me!
If I could rate it a zero or negative I would! HORRIBLE experience first time coming here and definitely my last! I drove from the city for an hour and a half stuck in rush hour traffic with my two daughters for a wax appointment I had with a student (a friend of mines) when I walked in I wasnt even greeted by the person in the front desk which was the supervisor Maria she then told my friend that she couldnt see me until 6:15 even tho my appointment was at 4:30, I told her how long I had drove for with my daughters she did not care one bit she said Im sorry we cant see you, turned around and left me talking, I had to wait in my car for over an hour. Worst management ever!!!! Definitely need improvement with customers service and management. Well definitely not recommend this place.
I came to USTA for a 125 hour refresher courses for my Illinois Esthetics License ( After the school I graduated from (( The Aveda Institute)) would not help me ). I can not being to tell you how WONDERFUL this school is. Everyone from the owners, office staff and teachers are exceptional. The teachers are positive educators and deeply care about you succeeding. The School does a great job not only teaching the curriculum in a way that is easy to understand but they also teach their students a lot of different services that will give you an advantage and help you succeed in the spa industry.Thank you USTA for giving me the opportunity I needed to Succeed, I truly could not have done it without you.
Doni was chatty enough to be welcomingNot so chatty as to interrupt relaxationDoni read my previous visit notesAsked questionsEyebrows n lashes done wellDoni offered a second application on lashes which I acceptedTotally satisfied with resultsBesides that, Doni has a gentle touch especially necessary around eyes

2022-06-29I had a facial done by McKenzie Mason on friends and family day. This is the Best facial I had in a long time. She was Absolutely AMAZING. I left feeling relaxed and my face felt refreshing. She explained all the steps she was doing and kept me well informed of what I need to be adding to my daily routine. I am definitely going back to see her again.

2022-06-17I been doing my research on schools and been on quite a few tours, and hands down USTA has been one of the best school tours. Angela is great at her job and does an amazing job explaining the program from A-Z. She basically goes over everything that other schools seem to forget to provide, which usually is always the important stuff. Angela is very knowledgeable of the program and can answer any question you may have in such ease, she’s also very friendly and makes you feel so comfortable during the process. I’m definitely excited in starting classes in July and looking forward to everything the school has to offer!!! 😁

2022-03-16Mariah F. took excellent care of me during my visit to this school. She suggested a charcoal mask facial, (which left me feeling amazing!). She offered me a support pillow to go under my knees to provide comfort for my back. Incorporated with this facial is a message. I left feeling refreshed and ready for the day! Too bad it didnt last longer. The only down side is parking. (Not the schools fault)

2022-02-13I always have a fantastic experience here. Staff is friendly, students are personable and professional. Ive had several massages here, as well as a facial and brow wax and am always pleased with the students and their work. I feel fortunate that USTA is so close to home so I can have beauty and spa services done here!

2022-06-30I had my first experience on Tuesday, Mackenzie did a wonderful job. I walked away with fantastic results, more relaxed than I was when I walked in, and with more knowledge about skincare and about my skin in particular. I would gladly visit again.

2022-05-31Gisselles service was phenomenal. The vibe , the skills she showed was perfection. I almost fell asleep doing my facial consultation with her . She knew exactly what to do and made me feel extremely comfortable in the service. Also not to mention the atmosphere and environment within the room was top notch . Ill gladly go there again when I get the chance especially with Gisselle Martinez !

2022-04-24The school is beautiful and I have a great massage therapy teacher who is very knowledgeable, fun and engaging but there are many things to consider before enrolling into this program. During the enrollment tour, you will be reassured that the program will fit into a typical adults challenging life, but many important details and inconvenient changes were made last minute that cornered us into making unhealthy choices for ourselves. Voicing our concerns was also a challenge and there seems to be a lack of unity within staff which caused a divide among students. Despite some typical archaic social issues, this school can abrasively contribute to individual growth. Hopefully they continue their team building efforts.
