Love the food. The service has gone to the way side. The husband and wife that run it are great. However cant handle running the Reaturant just the 2 of them. Youll be lucky if they answer when you call. 1 hr waits turn to 2 hrs and you end up missing items they wont replace on your next visit. They need a hiring sign to keep up with the demand and some consideration for the customers.
Uncle Maos creates some of the most amazingly beautiful food I have ever seen & tasted. Service is always guaranteed to include a wonderful smile, hot fresh fast wonderful food, and appreciation & respect immeasurable elsewhere. 🤗🖤🖤🖤

This was my first time visiting this place and to me your first impression determines allot with me, I ordered 30 bucks worth of food and it looked good but they cooked it in some burnt grease which made it smell bad and definitely threw off the enjoyment I was looking forward too (I WILL NOT BE BACK ) they knew the grease was bad and how often it should be changed and I asked the lady if they made fresh egg rolls and from the look on her face she looked shocked and just deliberately outright LIED 🤥 the egg rolls where horrible. I will be the city of Darien to complain this is bad business especially during this COVID
Our normal place has been too busy. First time here and it was great. Vegetable egg rolls were awesome. If we are this happy with the food a few more times then well probably make this our go to place. ---carryout review
BEWARE!!! PANDEMIC!!! After waiting over 2 hours for an order, I was given food that another patron had taken home and returned because it was the wrong order. We are in the midst of a PANDEMIC so all orders are picked up curbside. I watched the proprietor reassure a customer that the order he was given was correct after he brought to her attention that the phone number associated with the order did not match his. He took the order home. 30 minutes later he was back (yes, I was still waiting for my order). Upon examination, we realized he had been given my order. He gave the bag to the proprietor and she gave him an order that had been sitting on the cart since he picked up the first order. I told her I did not want the returned food. She took the bag from the customer and went back to the kitchen. Unbeknownst to her, I could see directly into the kitchen where she was working. I watched her take the order out of the original plastic bag, tear open the brown paper bag, take out the cartons of food and put them into a new bag. She then proceeded to bring me the exact same food that had been returned in a new bag. That is unacceptable at any time and certainly not acceptable as we are battling the spread of an infectious virus. Be careful! I just happened to see this with my own eyes this time. No telling how often it has been done when we do not see...
Excellent takeout at a great price. It was my first visit and I was under the gun for a good meal. It hit on all cylinders. Heading back very soon. Looking forward to it!
Two days ago was the first time we visited this magnificent restaurant. But It is no doubt not the last time. We passed a splendid evening with the attentive service, with the fine cuisine and wine and with the honest pay. We will absolutely go back there again.

Hidden gem. Large portions. My sesame chicken was juicy and not dried out. My wife enjoyed the beef chop suey. The hot and sour soup was large enough to share. Well be back!
This is the most disgusting food I’ve ever tasted in my lifetime. Decided I would try it one evening absolutely gross never tasted Chinese food like it. They’re also not friendly towards certain people I guess. The atmosphere was very unwelcoming started to walk out after not being greeted I knew I should have followed my first mind! Never again!
The food is constantly fresh and flavorful, workers hands over great service. I liked the cleanliness and vibes. Worth a try.
If the food wasnt as good as it is, we probably wouldnt return. We no longer order delivery from here, pick-up only. We experienced several delivery times over an hour, one 1.5 hour delivery and they forgot the rice. We asked them to deliver the rice and said it would be an hour so we went in and picked it up ourselves.Again, the food is really good but the delivery service is horrible.
I certainly liked the dishes and service, fantastic area nearby to my apartment. The staff members are always super nice. Will come visit again.
The food is good. However waiting that long is unacceptable. Hire another employee. They said one hour. I showed up an hour later and stood 30 min. I ended up leaving.
I had the best dinner tonight from Uncle MAOs. We had the dinner for 2. There was alot of food and everything was flavored to perfection. Thank you!!!☺️

We got the combination platter and the bbq ribs and beef satay were okay. Their regular egg rolls were good. The veggie egg rolls were okay.
Called in an order and was told it would be ready in 15-20 minutes... arrive and pay $60 bucks and have to wait outside... No problem with the current climate of everything... still waiting at the hour point..... Changing restaurants.

Dont call and ask for delivery. They have more money then what they need. Jeffrey who answered the phone was very rude and sounded like i was disturbing his nap or something. I work for a Ford dealership. I know about customer service. I will never order from here again and i will make sure i tell everyone not to order from Uncle Maos to order from some place else. Chuck

Great deal on lunch specials, food is absolutely delicious and I would recommend it to anyone. However, staff isnt the friendliest so I am always inclined to order for takeout.

They rip you off! If you order an entree do not expect to get any meat or seafood in it. Then if you call to complain they are rude and say they do not speak English and will not make the problem right. Find a different place to go because the service is awful and the portions are chintzy. STAY WAY!!!!
Love Mao. I think they have some of the best C.F.R. in the Chicagoland area. The beef/broccoli is also some of the best Ive ever had. The food is always hot, always good, and always served quickly.

2022-04-22The restaurant offers carryout only and no dining inside their dining room, at the moment.The food is good, but not necessarily the best in the area.You can tell that they are under staffed since there was only one lady taking orders and I believe that she was also cooking in the kitchen.The service was good and the food came out in a timely manner.We had a large shrimp fried rice and an order rangoons, and they were both good, but nothing special.I would definitely order from them again but I wouldnt go out of my way.

2017-09-25If youre going to eat from this place make sure youre ready to vomit. Incredibly disappointed with this place as I have been looking for good take out in my area for awhile. All the food was bland, the chow mein wasnt even chow mein and it was all around a horrible experience considering I threw everything up that night. I dont recommend this place at all - it has actually made me not ever want to eat Chinese food ever again.

2022-02-26Rude lady…took my order over the phone didnt tell me how long or anything just said goodbye and hung up on me…then when i went there she didnt even have my order so i had to wait…then i asked if there was sweet and sour in the bag and she shooed me away w her hand and walked away..i said you really should treat your customers nicer and she said go go and shooed me away w her hand again and walked away into the kitchen….i will never go there again she was so rude and obviously didnt care about her customers…

2021-08-25Really bad service, the person that was on the counter was on the phone the whole time while I was standing there waiting for her to take my order or check up on me... thats not the worst part, I ask the clerk if they serve a certain style of meat and in a bad manner she told me only whats on the menu I just to decide to hold my hunger turn around and leave, glad I didnt becauee Im puertorrican and the food didnt smell as good as a Chinese rest. from P.R. or neither as good as the Chinese rest. in Houston.

2020-01-29I take my family to this lovely spot quite a bit! This is the best place to to have a good dinner. I go to this spot at least once a month. The cooking is just great, the crew is welcoming and the rates are decent. I like eating in this place over a decent lunch.
