Prestige area is always a mess and I have to ask an associate to find the products I need. I normally order online so I can quickly find what I need. The managers are nice and willing to help but they are clearly understaffed. When they have brand reps are in the store there seems to be a lot of associates and you don’t know who actually works there. While checking out an associate walks up and asks to leave stopping the cashier from checking out the person she was and a brand rep stating she had been there long enough she needed someone to find the manager on duty so she could leave. I didn’t purchase as much as I attended because I was not in the mood to search through the prestige area in the brands I was looking for.
The service is usually pretty good and theyre super helpful, however they seem to always be out of many products and Im getting so tired of the promotion for the roller lash mascara by benefit. The sales team can go on a rant about how much they love the mascara to me while Im at check out for like three minutes before I can get in a word and tell them that I already have it and am not a huge fan.
Very knowledgeable and helpful sales staff, large, bright, clean facility, and amazing variety of products in soooo many brands. If I cant find it there, there are only a few other places to check! Facial products are color matched for you (I like that!) and hair services are available by appointment, I understand.
The cosmetics professionals here are really hard-working and service oriented. The store is clean and pleasant and the sample products fastidiously maintained. Jackie in the Clinique section really goes above and beyond to help you find the products that are best for your skin and the look youre trying to achieve. I stop in here almost every time I visit Springfield to restock on cleanser or any staples I forgot to bring with me.
I went it store for shampoo, found the shampoo and proceeded to check out. 1 young lady was on a register checking out another customer so I waited. While standing there I watched another lady stocking bags without acknowledging my presence. I proceeded to the checkout. The bag stocker then waited on a customer that had walked up. I asked the bag stocker why she had not waited on me instead of leaving me standing there? Her response was “ I was stocking my bags”. I simply asked what about the customer???? Poor customer service!!!!! Online shopping is the answer😕I returned home and checked Amazon for the product and found 1.5 ounces more shampoo and a 8.5 ounce conditioner for 22.80 just a little more than the one bottle of shampoo cost 😳and NO poor service to put up with ‼️‼️ Sad because I believe in shopping at brick and mortar vs online.
Avoided this store for years based on the reviews posted. My experience could not have been more different than what is written. The staff went out of their way to make guests feel welcome & ask if help finding or learning about a product was needed. Cannot speak to their salon services as was not there for that, but all the chairs were full on a weekday afternoon. Will go back often.
Every time I come to this location I have horrible customer service. Everybody has a chip on their shoulder like they hate the world. Every time I need help with anything I can’t find anyone to help. They stopped carrying half of their make up supplies. Prices are always wrong, so by the time I get to the register everything I had picked up doesn’t ring up correctly therefore I don’t get anything I’m supposed to. This is why business is done online these days. i guess I’ll take my business to Amazon.
The only reason I am even giving this store two stars is because the ladies who helped me on the floor were very helpful. Otherwise, it would be one star. As for those who worked at the checkout on Saturday, September 2nd around 11:00am AND the manager, I was not impressed. I was asked if I wanted some makeup remover set they were trying to sell when I was at the checkout and I said, No, thank you. I have spent enough money here already. My purchase total was around $150 and when asked if I wanted to sign up for an ULTA credit card, I simply asked if I could pay it off right there in the store and was told, yes by the girl who was running the checkout I was in. Because she said I could, I went ahead and signed up. She then proceeded to try to get me to buy the makeup remover set AGAIN since I was saving money when the whole point of me wanting to sign up for the credit card was to save me money. I also never sign up for a credit card that I cant pay off right away at the store. So, she charged the credit card, ran the transaction through, and when I asked if I could go ahead and pay it off with my debit card, she said, it explains everything in the pamphlet how to pay it off. I said, Well, I asked you if I could pay it off here and you told me I could. She then proceeded to tell me that she misunderstood what I said. (Yeah, right.) I then asked if there was any annual fee on the credit card and she said, Sorry maam, Im not sure. She then asked a girl running another register and she didnt know either!! Whats even worse is they asked the manager and she also didnt know!! Luckily, I went ahead and searched through the pamphlet while I was still there and there is NOT an annual feel. Thank goodness for that. My biggest issue with this is these employees PUSH credit card sign ups yet know NOTHING about them. That is so wrong. You shouldnt be trying to push something you know nothing about. Educate yourselves, ladies. I think its time for the manager or someone in your corporate office to set up an in service so you can better serve your customers. Until then, Ill just go straight to Bare Escentuals or order online before I step foot on your store again.
A while ago I went in here full face of makeup the workers followed me around and were nice but today I went in with no makeup and they treated me completely different. I tried to ask a question and they walked away and wouldn’t help me or honor their sales. I was so offended I ended up just walking out. They should treat everyone the same this behavior is horrible and disrespectful.
I am amazed by the quality of service at Ulta Beauty in Springfield, Illinois! I love going there! The customer service is excellent, from a first day employee I met, Sadie, a Benefit Specialist of only a few months in town, Alex, to the Retail Manager, Dovie. ALL of the employees are truly interested in helping meet your beauty, cosmetic, hair care, and skin regimen needs. Many of them have gone far above and beyond for me. They have encouraged products that work for me and tried them on me, while discouraging ones that werent as flattering. They also truly promote the feeling of beauty from within and expressing oneself while having fun with getting ready. Thanks to the great customer service, Ive tried many new things I probably wouldnt have dared before. And the compliments I get are amazing! So much fun! They also have brought the complacency out of my mother. She got an amazing brow tint from Alex for the first time and her brows have never looked better, especially with her now going grey, short and spunky with her hairstyle! She also stepped out of the box, and found a non-feathering lipstick by Too Faced Cosmetics, which has been a concern at her age. She tried two awesome new colors that she would have never tried, had she not been encouraged to in the store. Now, I cant find her without them on! Ulta Beauty in Springfield is the very best. I try not to go anywhere else! Im a Platinum, loyal customer due to Dovie, Jocelyn, Sadie, Brooklyn, Alex, Hope, Madison and many others that are there to bring your inner beauty out! Great products, Great customer service, Great sales and promotions... What more could you ask for?
Extremely disappointed, I am not one that normally returns anything .I bought two items with cash and did not like them , when returning them , I was forced to have a in-store credit card instead of my cash returned. This has forced me to make a decision . I will no longer shop with Ulta in any town. Very disappointed that they force you to keep your spending dollars in their store once purchased. #NoLongerThisLady
Displays are dusty and dirty. They have open testers of products sitting at ground level. Specific examples, the Kylie stand when you walk in the front door has the blush/contour pallet practically sitting on the floor and it looks dirty. The base of the Buxom lip gloss stand is covered in dust and hair. Clean it up, ladies and gents.
Wow. Like wow. Either take an acting class or just try to stop sounding sincere altogether. And stop being ignorant when someone asks for their free gift - afterall, you advertised it - and lying saying you are out of them. Its a main product in the brand stupid! Also dont need the stink eye and snotty voice when i present one of YOUR coupons...I love Ulta. Lets hope this location and experience didnt ruin it for me for life!
Literally the WORST ulta Ive EVER been to. Dont go in expecting to be helped at all. The redhead girl walked by me multiple times and ignored me. On multiple visits. Benefit brow bar hours are posted, but the girl is never there during posted hours. Im never going back. Sephora will get all of my business from now on.
The shelves are always empty and they always have an excuse. Tired of wasting my time going there and not being able to get needed items. Today an employee went to look for something for me and never came back. I waited almost 15 minutes. Finally just walked out. Worst store ever.
This review is for the Springfield, Illinois ULTA Salon!---If you are ever in my position and NOT from Springfield , Il. and need to have your hair styled for any event , let alone an important WEDDING EVENT!!! DO NOT USE JESSICA as your stylist! She is beyond UNSKILLED!, CARELESS!, YACKING WITH OTHERS WHILE YOURE IN HER CHAIR! ---GUESS SHE EVEN REALIZED HER LACK OF SKILL LEAVING ME WITH HAIR THAT LOOKED LIKE I CAME OUT OF A HUMID WIND TUNNEL!!!!! AND WITHOUT AN APOLOGY HAD ANOTHER STYLIST, REWASH AND RESTYLE MY HAIR!---I WAS THERE FOR 2 HOURS JUST FOR A BLOW OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THANK YOU CAITLYN FOR GIVING ME AN ACCEPTABLE STYLING AND 30% OFF FOR MY WASTED TIME WITH JESSICA!

2022-05-03My first time in this store. Reviews date back for YEARS -- where was this store located before its current location, I thought it was someplace NEW. In any case, I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the store. I was helped by a lovely young lady (who was masked up) and she helped me find exactly what I was searching for. I saw a lot of higher end makeup names which was nice, and while the selection amongst each brand was limited, it was a something for everyone feel. They had tissues and trash cans on the poles, i assume for sample removal etc.

2022-03-19Overall amazing store! Priced well and great product I love the Monday wash for your hair it really gives me full volume and delicacy to the scalp. I also love the tree hut sugar scrub it’s amazing also priced at a very reasonable price for such a good product.

2022-03-19Why make an appt for a blowout when as youre walking in the stylist is walking out to grab a drink? Maybe not double book yourself? I was apprehensive to not go to an actual salon when making the appt. but the other ladies were so helpful when shopping I figured Id give it a shot. 25 mins after arrival for my appt I finally got what I made an appt for; so beware if you have plans, do not go to Ulta for salon help with your hair!! I was offered a free conditioning treatment for the trouble but that will not make me on time for a work event. Plus, scheduling for a treatment would probably have me waiting longer!! No thx.

2022-03-15I love ulta.I spent 2 hrs in there without realizing it..TONS to look at, staff has always been friendly and helpful. Ulta has some good deals...Ulta is my little escape for some just me time!!

2020-03-16So this is a review for ulta salon... prior to going in i had chemically damaged hair. i created this disaster back in aug of 2019. I had went to a reputable salon a week prior to get something done. i was pretty open to anything considering what i was working with. that reputable salon didnt really want to do much with it and wanted to color it in stages. that sounded pricey so i went to ulta with no hope. but they were willing to do whatever i wanted with the understanding i could potentially damage it further. they did talk with me about what i was thinking and we agreed on a dark purple with shadow root. i wanted different dimensions of purple. i wish i knew the ladies name who did my hair however long story short she did a great job and after 2 washings since leaving the salon my hair is more softer and overall healthier. not only is my hair better but the price though was cheap. i was thinking 150 to 200 for what she did i left with a hundred dollar bill not including the tip. i am so happy with my hair and i I included pictures. you can just look at hair and can tell that its healthy. which is just mind blowing to me. will definitely return and definitely reccomend. will update with the name of the hair dresser.

2022-01-01Nice shop! Hard to find help, and a lot of product not stocked....kinda sad when we have to drive an hour to get there. The perfume my daughter wanted was not there, wither. She got a gift card and this was her Christmas 🎄 😳

2021-05-15Having my hair colored and cut by Sydney was the best choice in hair care I have ever made. She was so personable and professional it was amazing! However, most of all she gave me my best hair color and style ever! My only regret is that when I called back to have her a second time, she is no longer there! I hope wherever she has gone, she is happy and well for she is amazing! She also referred me to an amazing eyebrow specialist at Ulta! Best wishes Sydney, I am so pleased with my hair and brows! I will miss you!

2021-02-14I generally enjoy shopping at Ulta. Ive been to several stores and have NEVER been treated like I was today. From the very moment I walked in the store, I was followed by 2 and 3 associates. I had a basket full of probably $300 worth of make up and other items. After about 20 minutes of being stalked like I was about to rob the place I got the 2 items from my basket that I originally wanted to get and left. I had been in this store a few times before and was never treated this way. While Ulta has some nice products be prepared to be treated like a criminal if you shop in there.

2021-04-16This used to be a great location in 2012 but since the manager moved away it has steadily gone down hill. I was in the store for over 10 minutes, multiple employees walked past me and didnt ask if I needed any help. I had to ask for help at the front counter.I dont understand why all the employees dont have Hand held devices to check out customers. The lines to check out are always long and ridiculous.Ulta keeps wanting to pretend they can sell prestige and luxury products but shopping there is like shopping at TJ Maxx or Walgreens. When cosmetics cost the same at all retailers, why bother with a lackluster shopping experience when you can be treated like you matter at a department store or just order online.It is just this location, as Ulta has expanded their customer service has become nonexistent. It is pretty sad because they started off great.
