I’ve loved the shopping experience here for years and have recently started using the salon services as well. Bianca is the full package, everything you’d want in a stylist. She’s punctual, professional, SO sweet (to both her clients and her salon colleagues), knowledgeable, and talented! I love that I can fully trust her with my hair, as she’s also makes great product recommendations.
Disappointed on my color hair service. 5 days in you can still see my grays mixed with brown in my black hair. Went to the store to show to stylist and manager and because they cant see it, there nothing they can do. Meanwhile everyone of my friends can see the difference. Sigh
Got my hair done by Emily W in the salon and all I can say is WOW. She did the most amazing job! I showed her a few pictures of what I wanted and she not only recreated what I wanted, but somehow it looked even better than I thought it could! Also, she was so friendly and I had a really fun experience working with her!
I LOVE coming in to get my eyebrows done! You guys have the BEST EYEBROW TECH EVER! Ashley is BEYOND AMAZING! I was having a horrible time with other places and didnt trust anyone to do my brows and now I never stress it because she KILLS it every time! Ladies go to ASHLEY FOR YOUR BROWS!
I don’t know why I even bother going to this location. Yes it’s closer to my home… yet every single time I leave I’m annoyed, aggravated and insulted! They have one of the rudest staffs I’ve ever in countered. It bothers me so much because makeup is truly my passion. I feel as if they judge you the second you walk in the door. I’m not sure why I’m always treated as if I’m dressed like the people of Walmart but I am. I go in and my mood will be all rainbows and lollipops. Then I leave and just feel bummed.No more from now on I’ll go out if my way to go to the machesney park location. The only reason I gave three stars is because they sell all the things I love.
I’ve been to this location multiple times with no issues until today. When I asked a group of women who worked there where a product was, they all looked at me with disgust, as if I was bothering them by asking for a help. And when one woman did answer, she simply said “it’s over by the bath stuff” and went back to talking with the other girls. When I was checking out, the cashier seemed short with me and was very dismissive. I wasn’t wearing any makeup and had a sweatshirt and sweatpants on and I can’t help but think they all treated me poorly because I didn’t look like I belonged shopping at Ulta. I am not happy and will not be going back to this location.
Just got done shopping at Ulta, the customer service is amazing. All three of the ladies that helped me there today did an amazing job. Matched my foundation color, powder color, and helped me learn how to apply it properly. I will definitely recommend them to anyone asking. Thanks for the help today - Susan
Oh my gosh, so helpful!! The staff took the time to help find my perfect shade of foundation and answer all of my questions. Very relatable and helpful! The store was very clean. The only downside is my coupon didn’t apply to anything on my purchase so that was a little confusing 🤷🏽♀️ But, I will definitely be back! Thank you!
I am a frequent shopper, however I would much prefer Sephora. I live closer to Ulta than Sephora.My dislike for the employees roots from an experience I had my freshman year of high school 2015-2016. I had an appointment for hair and makeup. I was there on time. The technician that was assigned to do my hair and makeup was late and pushed back the time I had to get dressed for the dance. My hair turned out okay, at least it was better than the train wreck that she called a makeup look. She did not even apply a full face of makeup, the eyeliner was horrible, and did not even apply powder. My eyebrows looked liked way too bushy and by time I got home there was no time to get re-do the train wreck makeup. I know some people had a great experience, but I did not.The next one really got me heated. I usually do not have an issue or problem with the employees that work the register. However, this one needs some more training. I got to paying for the items I was purchasing. I said not even five seconds after I hand her a bill to break, that I have the change. She was like sorry, I already ran it through. Really.... I have never had this happen to me since. Most of those working the register have a personality. This one did not.
My skin recently started breaking out at the ripe age of 27 and Becca helped me find the correct products and regimen for my skin. Only 3 days after her recommendations, my skin FELT so much better and new breakouts ceased. She’s incredible and professional. I can’t recommend her enough.
Great service told him what I was looking for and he recommended a productin the product works for the perfectly that I bought. If youre looking for a better higher end products at good prices and s great staff, managers included I would definitely choose Ulta. Top notch service.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!! I never knew that they did so much for men! The first time I was in, I was greeted by some very smiling welcoming faces, just bubbly and great energy. I proceeded to head back to the salon and found that they covered so many services for men, Emily, Jessica, and Tatiana were all there to answer any and all questions for me, great service! Jessica has been cutting my hair for over a year now and thoroughly enjoy it every time I go in there! The salon staff along with the entire store is just freaking awesome! I have never had a bad experience in Ulta! I was also informed of eyebrow services and facials! Becca is one of the best I’ve ever been to! I have sent multiple people in this store for the service and great people in it! The managers and staff are the best hands down! They listen to your every need, they are so willing to help and recommend based on budget and need, just excellent service! Love my Ulta Peeps :-) shout out to my favorites Emily Wilkinson, Becca Picavet, Tatiana Sandoval, Jesica Lietzen, and so many others I’ve come across!Go here for service!!!!!!
Never going to shop at this location again, rather order online.. if a customer doesn’t ask you for your advice or for help regarding skincare, I recommend you keep it to yourself because that can make anyone who has problematic skin self cautious and feeling worse. It’s just something you don’t do! Trying to make them buy expensive skincare products as well making them feel pressured. And not to mention the rude blonde cashier who had an attitude.
I am in this store a minimum of once a week up to sometimes 4 times a week. Often enough that a majority of the employees know my name and preferences. I have NEVER had a bad experience in this store in the 15+ years Ive been shopping here. If I need help with something someone is always willing to answer my questions, look for backstock, or help problem solve for me. I dont understand ANY of the bad reviews for this particular location. Having worked customer service most of my life I pay close attention to how employees treat ALL the customers, not just myself, everywhere I shop. Even when Ive witnessed customers being rude to associates I have never seen that type of attitude reciprocated by an employee. I love that I dont have to go in wearing a full face of immaculate makeup in order to have employees treat me as a valuable customer which I often find at sephora.
It is what you expect. Huge selection, a little pricy, and no one to help anywhere. While in line a new cashier made a mistake and the other cashier ( dont know her position) was extremely rude to her, very demeaning, and loudly betrayed her. She seemed stressed and annoyed, but that is not something the customers should have seen.
I went to Ulta today to look for Colourpop monochrome palettes, the store didnt have any. Which is fine, not a problem at all. Since I was already in the store I decided to color match foundation, specifically Juvias Place. The first problem was that the display was very disorganized. The worse problem was that the employee who came to help me admitted that she may have needed help to match me, but when she asked for help the other two employees (one who may have been a shift manager) refused. Telling her to do it. One of the women said theyd get a mirror, which she did, then placed it on the display and walked away. At one point the woman that I assumed to be a shift manager left the register, and walked passed me without a word. As a customer I felt very dismissed, and unwelcome. The original employee tried to help me at that point, but by then I really was done with the situation. I told her Id come back another time (I wont), looked at cologne with my husband for a few minutes and left without purchasing anything. I love ulta, and when choosing foundation and concealer its important to be able to physically try things out, but I dont think Ill be back for a long while. Ill just msg the brand and ask them for help with my shade.
Very very very impressed! I randomly decided to get a hair color. Went in with no appointment and Betty was able to help me out. She literally went above and beyond and I will make sure everyone knows to come and see her because she works magic. My hair had some yellow/Carmel in it and she really took her time to make it look nice. She even stayed late! I highly recommend her and the Rockford Ulta. They really made it a fun atmosphere for someone who has never been to that Ulta before. I usually go to dekalb but I will be going back to the Rockford one just to see Betty! I started shopping online because of the customer service at my local store. On a whim, I decided to go in to use my 20% coupon. Worst mistake ever. Nothing has changed. I had SEVERAL employees walk right past me when I was clearly searching for something, not one offered help or asked if I needed anything.(the store was not busy at all) Then when I get to the register, they all seemed to be too busy with each other to be bothered with me. Finally I was waited on, the cashier had an attitude from the get go and when I asked her if they had a new lip gloss, she said if you didnt see it then we dont have it did not offer to look to even see if it was there or not! I asked about a second product and she told me its online only even though Ive purchased the brand before in store. I will not be back it was a horrible experience.
If there was a less than one star review to give for the customer service in this place I would give it to. Worse experience I ever to experience trying to buy make up for my wife and other Xmas shopping. I hope the manager get to read this and realize that just because the girls who work there have a ton of make up on their faces that doesnt give them any right to judge other people or give attitude to the customer if Im going to buy make up and fragrances for over $500 I would rather go to the mall at Macys or sephora. Im really upset with this store and the workers over there.
I will no longer go to the Rockford location because of the miserable customer service experience everytime I go in and I only go for one thing. The lack of consideration from the employees when you need them is no where to be found and when you have to go looking for them be aware they wont be very helpful. The make-up I wanted wasnt in stock so what I would do in that scenario would be to let the customer know when it will be in and if the product is the most common one have a backup stash. Not helpful at all. Bare Minerals is popular and it is located directly in front of the store and no one is ever there to help?!
I shop here all the time, I love shopping here. The salon has terrible customer service. I scheduled an appointment for 3pm, I got there at 2:45-2:50pm to check in. The lady was finishing up a client and told me that it would be a 10 minute wait, and I was fine with that considering that I was early. So I occupied myself by shopping around for bit and I overheard the hair stylists gossiping and talking negatively about another client. I waited until 3:30 before deciding to leave because she wasnt done yet. I had other things I had to do, and at that point, by the time that I wouldve finished getting my hair done, it wouldve been damn near 5:00. Granted, maybe I shouldve set aside more time to get my hair done, but if my appointment was set for 3, I shouldve been sat down way before 3:30. She couldve at least told me that shed be longer rather than 10 minutes. By the time I left, I had waited 40 minutes for a chain store hair cut. I didnt even wait that long when I went to a high end hair salon.
Came in to look for some skincare. I came in after work, so I wasnt looking my best, obviously that doesnt matter. They were about 10 people working the floor, 4 on the front of the store the rest in the back and the middle of the store. Nobody even looked at me, this normally wouldnt bother me but I was looking for something specific, and was running late. I was in there for about 25 mins. About 3 staff walked past me, without a word.The staff towards the back were talking amongst each other, in a little circle, when I approached them and was about to interrupt, the girl talking gave me the dirtiest look, so I walked right out the store, still nobody acknowledged me, and went to sephora the next day.
If this Ulta store is like Machesny Park you will not get any help. Staffed with four visible employees. One working and three in a gab fest. Im looking for essential oil supplies, Google brought me to the store but no supplies that I could find on my own, just oils, not even a carrier oil...
I shop here frequently, but I will no longer be an Ulta fan. I work in retail, so I understand annoying customers. I was planning on spending quite a bit of money in there tonight as it being Black Friday and I won’t get the chance to shop as I work all weekend in my own store. I went in with the intention of buying the new Morphe pallette that just dropped a few days ago, so I find the Morphe display, and they have tons of them, but none are out to view. So I pick up the package I intended to buy, opened it to show my boyfriend (If you spend that much money on a pallette of course you want to make sure it’s not broken, or it hasn’t been dropped. Just like you’d do for a carton of eggs) and an employee came right on over and immediately had an attitude telling me where the actual display for Morphe is and that the tester is out and to stop opening boxes. I only opened it because I intended on purchasing it, I just wanted to show my boyfriend. I put it back, and walked right out the front door due to the employees condescending attitude and actions. I’d never speak to a customer that way, even if they had done something to annoy me. It was extremely embarrassing to be scolded like a child in front of the entire store. She also proceeded to stand directly behind me, so close I could feel her breathing down my neck and watched my every move as I put the pallette back inside the bubble wrap, and then in the box. Happy Thanksgiving to you too ma’m.
Im a guy . So I was here with my wife. First time, she loves it ! I really dont understand why anyone would give ULTA a bad review. I found the employees to be very helpful. They dont have a staff. They are paid employees. There is a big difference. Look it up and educate yourself.
Worse customer service ever, I was in the store 30 minutes + not one person came to help me. There was a white worker that asked a white customer if they need help and walk right past me. I tried to ask a Mexican worker to help me but she pointed her finger to my face and said “is this a quick question “ rude :) so I left to sephora
Very annoying strange acting folks here. This was my first time taking the time to walk in to Ulta. These very invasive unprofessional silly women who work there...are extremely agressive and rude. I was considering going back to make a purchase of there OVER PRICED PRODUCTS but I rather go back to Macys or any other store any day before dealing with racist strange fools at Ulta in Rockford, Illinois...especially the white skinny silly ugly girl who tried to make me feel uncomfortable because it makes her feel better about her misrrable self...simpIy because I was carrying a bag after shopping at Taget which practically is next door to Ulta. Never will I shop at this location. Get it together Ulta and hire associates rhat know hpw to treat ever valuable customer or potential customers. You all need training...to check you awful crazy attitudes. Peace!!
One week ago today, I went in for eye brow tinting. Waste of $19.00. She was so sweet and bubbly that I didnt want to say anything negative to her. When she showed me in the mirror, there was hardly any medium brown color. Where I basically have no hair, there was NO color. I was shocked. She said at least I can see where the arch should be. She said the tint should last 3-4 weeks and not to use toner. I dont own toner. By 2 days, the color was gone. Nothing. Waste of money. I am very unhappy.
The managers need to learn policies about returning a defective item. It took me having to email ulta to learn the real policy and a huge headache especially when its over a 200 dollar item. Also alot of the time things are not in stock. Very inconvenient, it happens alot to where i just expect certain things to never be there.

2021-10-12This restaurant is so cute! The food selections highlight local foods. I tried the eggs Benedict which was loaded with ham! My husband had an omelet that was filled with bacon. Next time we will come for lunch or dinner as the buyers looked wonderful!

2022-07-20When I came into Ulta, I immediately got a bad impression. People were standing there and no one spoke to me when I first walked in. I don’t know what I did, but I felt like I was in a hostile environment. I was about to walk out until one of the employees, Keyanna, came up and spoke to me. She was very nice to me and I could tell that she was very knowledgeable about the products. She helped me find what I was looking for and taught me some additional things that I didn’t know about the product. The manager and the lady from the NARS section seemed like they had an attitude the entire time. As a customer who is spending my hard earned money with a company I love, I do not want to feel unwelcome and that my very presence there is a problem. Honestly, the only reason I considered still shopping with ULTA after this uncomfortable experience was because of the interaction I had with Keyanna. The other employees need some form of customer interaction training. I can understand if they had a bad day, but don’t take that out on the customer because this a good way to lose potential business. I gave them a 5 star rating because of the experience I had with the vendor from Estée Lauder, Keyanna.

2022-05-06The salon is pretty awesome, and Emily Wilkinson seriously knocks it out the park EVERYTIME on my haircut style! Always helps me decide on something modern and up to date, but does great at keeping the traditional aspects we are all used to haha. Thank you so Emily!

2022-01-19My daughter and I went for the first time looking for good hair care products. We were greeting upon entering the store but nothing nice happened after that. There were 2 associates talking badly of the customers in the isle next to us. The girl at the register was nasty and rude after I wouldnt giver her my phone number - told me that without it I couldnt return anything, which by the way is against the law. She actually refused to say thank you to me after I paid and just shoved the bag across the counter and walked away. Maybe the associates are treated badly if they dont get the customers phone number or she was just a very nasty person. Either way I will not be returning to that store for anything, which is too bad because they have nice products.

2022-05-27The Ulta Store was not croweded. The staff were very patient. I bought a LaRiche-Posey light fluid sunscreen. This product helps prevent sunburn to my face. Keep up the excellent work!

2021-12-21It was busy in the store as it is close to Christmas, but plenty of employees were in attendance to assist us. The main reason I shop the Ulta stores is because of their return policy. Cosmetics are expensive and if you dont care for the item you purchased you can return it to. They are always so polite and friendly at this store too.
