Expensive place to buy makeup... Better than the green-washing and gas- lighting I see from Sephora... But seriously... The world dont need your greed... Idk why I shop here- even if infrequent...I suppose Im just so used to the convenience of conglomerates, growing up in the industrial evolved America... Sigh
This was my first time appointment at ulta beauty . I tried a haircut and facial here. My hairstylist was Jennifer (Master). She was gentle with my hair . I had long hair and She did a great job cutting the ends without making it short.I loved the look after she blow dryed.Also gave me nice hair care tips . My skin therapist was Thereza . She was polite . Liked the way she handled my acne skin.Most of products used were dermalogica.she Also helped me buy some beauty products. Overall a nice experience. I got a 20% off being a first time customer and also a small birthday gift after signing up(photo below).would definitely recommend this place.
An employee by the name of Teresa (who is a skin care specialist) helped me find a complete new lot of make up for my aging 40-year-old skin. Her knowledge of the products in the store was amazing I ended up spending almost $200 I felt almost as if she sold me half the store but when I got home wow I am in disbelief at how beautiful my Face looks from my foundation to my eyebrows to my faux freckles to my lips stain. I am in total awe! took all of her advice and used all of her suggested methods it was the best make up shopping experience of my life. I couldn’t be happier I highly suggest this Ulta location
Love this location. Super helpful and full of friendly and familiar faces. Staff is very knowledgeable of products and there is always a recommendation made that upgrades my current product needs. Walked away with new and familiar products and a great experience. The only con about this location is that when the parking lot is full, it is FULL. However, that is not the stores fault, they are simply working with the space they have.
Edit: Brandt is a hairstylist at this location has helped me pick out hair products twice now. He is always so helpful, honest and easy to talk to. He is a great representative to interact with. Desi has also helped me pick out perfumes. Desi is extremely knowledgeable and so friendly. I love the staff here. Management really knows how to pick the right ones here. Hope you all stay safe(:Friendliest staff of any Ulta I’ve been to and I’ve been to a lot of location. I’ve never ran into a rude person here and that says a lot. For how much time and money I spend here I’m always happy to keep coming back. Thank you!
This is my Favorite store out of all the Chicago locations. Really helpful staff. The brow person has my brows looking boadatious. James in the salon is so friendly and very knowledgeable on many products and will have you lookin snatched . ( amazing)..So come on in so they can turn u out!Just dont leave the lot while parked here cause you wont be leaving . Thanks again Ulta you guys rock!
Always a great shopping experience! I was there yesterday 7/3, and Daniel was EXTREMELY HELPFUL the entire time. He went above and beyond with not just answering my 100 questions lol, but also helping me look for a specific lip shade and bringing multiple options. He has great customer service skills and was genuinely interested in wanting to help. It was really appreciated!!!
From the first time I stepped into the store the women are so helpful and genuinely want you to be happy when you find whatever it is youre looking for. like me I was looking for the perfect gourmand perfume, I love anything that smells like candy or food with just a hint of Floral and they were just so helpful, extremely great customer service also As a woman who enjoys going natural most of the time I found myself wanting to come out of my shell for the holidays so I stopped in Ultra because I heard they were having an amazing sell on one of my favorite brands of lip gloss I remember always buying the same neutral tone but this day was different because I had met June who was just so fun end excited as I was to try these daring wild berry shades of gloss and lipsticks that it brought me out of my shell to buy both lip gloss and lipstick and I must say Im looking forward to New Years because my lips were popping I will definitely be shopping for the new year thank you ladies..
Super annoying staff. I was in the store maybe 7 minutes total and politely said I had what I needed and just wanted to browse for a moment. The same associate followed me around the store telling me what products would work for me and being pushy about what I should be looking at. I’ll be ordering my products online from now on.
Today I had an appointment for 12 pm for a root blend. I wanted to have my hair done before I started my new job next week. I got a call 5 minutes from my appointment time from this location. The call dropped and I tried calling back with no one answering. I was only 2 minutes away from walking into the store. When I came in I waited at the salon looking for someone to sign me in and a very rude guy who was on the floor apparently tried to call me to cancel my appointment 5 minutes before due to the stylist being quarantined. I totally understand why the stylist was not there what I did not understand was the rude treatment I got. He was condescending saying I hung up on him, and tried to cancel on me 5 minutes before my appointment. Now I travel a lot and I usually get my hair done at Ultas for their great reputation and I’ve never had a bad experience at any location. Today was the exception.. I am very disappointed with the horrible customer service I received. I did leave almost in tears because he was so rude.
I came here today to exchange and item purchased from ULTA in a different state. When I approached the older ,brown haired, possibly Asian lady with sharpie eyebrows at the front desk she began speaking to me in such a rude stern and childlike tone, one that I hadn’t heard her speak to anyone else with explaining in depth policies and what not .. going on and on about how she couldn’t complete the exchange and claimed they didn’t even sell the item at ULTA.. accusing me of trying falsify a purchase .. later I show her that the product is indeed on the ULTA website and sold at nearby stores and request that she places an online order for me.. only up until the end after giving her all of the product info and personal info she then tells me that they do not accept debit cards for online purchases.. what a waste of time and such a awful encounter.. hope this has nothing to do with me being a black women because I’ve never been accused of trying to falsify a return in any store before.
I tried twice to get service. I asked to try on some lipstick and they were kind enough to disinfect it for me. I joked about not knowing how to do it but they still left me alone at the counter to figure it out. I wouldn’t have minded if it was busy, but they were leaving me to get back to their conversation. I walked in hoping to get some help finding a good lipstick color, but no one seemed to want to help me. I was in the store about 20 mins and at no point was I offered assistance. When I asked for it, they did the bare minimum before leaving me. This is the second time this has happened in this store. The first time I thought it was a fluke but I guess it is not. I would have pursued more help, but I saw about 4 other customers come and go during the time I was their and they got far better treatment. They were asked if they needed anything, and they were helped with choosing their cosmetics. I was not given such treatment, and I assume it was because I didn’t look rich. Jokes on them because I had $100 of stuff in my bag that I was prepared to buy. Seeing all those customers get help without asking left a bad taste in my mouth. I wanted to leave but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I wanted to see how close I could get to them before they would say something. I stood next to an employee for about 5 mins while she talked with another employee about what they wanted for dinner and which brand they hated the most in the store. Honestly at this point, I’d given up on buying anything and just wanted to mess with them. I stood there, trying to find a good lipstick, until she moved away. She never stopped her conversation to acknowledge me.I hate writing reviews like this. I only write this because I didn’t buy anything, and I’m afraid that confirms the stereotype of people who look like me. I want to make clear that I walked in planning to buy and walked out severely disappointed. Never judge a lipstick-less book by its cover
Being a customer for years, new parking enforcement agents are vultures, after a purchase I had to walk my toddler daughter around the block to distract her, came back less than 10 mins later to a booted car and a 170dlls fine (while 3 other cars had been booted as well, all of whom had procured services in local shops). Will never come back and will advise against it.
Rebecca C has been doing my hair for years. I’m constantly amazed at the work she does with me, how she can find a cut that flatters my face and skin tone, and colors that also fit my lifestyle and personal style. She’s super laid back, funny and inviting, and professional. She’s non judgmental in that she knows that I can’t visit often, and she is solution oriented in finding a way to make even my fading hair look amazing over time. She’s been doing amazing since my first cut!
Do not visit this location... but not because of their staff. If you park in the lot and step off the property for any reason, the parking enforcement will instantly boot your car and extort you for $170 to get it off.Avoid this area until the property management makes changes to ensure a friendly shopping environment.
I really don’t like this ulta.Always out of products ( today the whole brand of wax strips I use is out, my Burt’s bees moisturizer, and my eye cream)Then the service team is terrible: last visit I spent almost $200 , the cash wrap woman was painfully awkward and tried to say “ what’s a few points off your credit score?” When I denied 3 times a store card. Are u kidding me. The small guy with colorless hair tried an even dumber tactic last time to convince me. Please tell your associates to stop giving out credit advice . They don’t know jack and are straight lying.Prior to this awkward check out, I wandered around the store so unsure what to do about foundation. I asked the manager for help ( pretty sure she’s eithe a.m or the man.) and she was friendly and gave quick recommendations. She didn’t get anyone to color match me, which is fine , I said I’ll figure it out. But ended Up really hating the foundation I ended up with. Went and returned it today, she saw me returning and didn’t bother to ask if I want help to find a new one. She remembered me too! She said hi!So ... great service! Really doing you job selling people products they are suppose to love....anyways, I went to the aisles to check for my products before leaving, all out. She is doing customer checks, sees me ducks away and DOENT ASK ME ANYTHING. like , I was so easy the first time she helped me. Why the hell are you avoiding an EASY sale!?I just walked out with my store credit , I’ll spend it online or another store. Done with this location.
Multiple options for cosmetics and general beauty products. Extremely good service and great information from the sales team. Plenty of free parking available at this location. Hair dryers and nail polishes, conditioners, every brand of hair color and sunscreen known to make you look your best.
They had some of what I was looking for, but left a lot to be desired. The main issue for me were the overbearing employees. I just wanted to go in and look around, but the benefit sales people would NOT leave me alone. I couldnt tell if they were trying to make a commission or if they thought I was going to steal something. It was really aggressive and off putting. This is why I normally shop online instead of going to the store.
A great source of cosmetics, skin care, hair care, and other beauty products. The selection ranges from drug store quality to hyan brands, including a great selection of Asian skin care products and dermatologist developed product lines. Also offers an in-store salon for hair needs. The only downside of this location is that parking sucks! Just be forewarned.
Always had a great experience here, the store is newly remodeled and they have a very knowledgeable staff.If you are on their mailing list they send a $3.50 off coupon on the back of every flyer but they will often give it to you at the register even with out it!If you like fancy shampoo they have great sales of the large bottles a few times a year so keep you eyes peeled!There is a hair salon in the back which I have never tried. They also have people who will give you mini makeovers on the spot if you are looking to try some new products which is always fun!
Was in store for 30+ minutes and was never greeted or acknowledged. The cashier finally greeted me as I approached to pay. There was then a problem at the register. -One cashier, and a line forming behind me. The pin pad reflected an item was scanned twice, I questioned the discrepancy. Was told that it was ok on her screen. A manager came up and basically brushed me off.. then walked away while there was still a line. This made me feel anxious and rushed. The only reason I shop here is for the coupons and rewards. Definitely not the service.
Before I found Rebecca C. as my hairstylist I hadn’t gotten my hair cut in about four years because I’m THAT picky about who cuts my hair. A friend recommended Rebecca to me and I’m so glad she did; I connected with her immediately. She always understands where I want to go with my hair. She’s creative, knowledgeable about techniques and products, and always game to try something fun and new with my hair. I’ve been beyond happy with every single cut and color she has given me. I never want to go to another stylist.
Horrible customer service. My wife goes to the Clybourn store often and everyone is so helpful, not the case at this store. When checking out, the lady at the counter asked my wife if she would like a bag and my wife said yes. The lady put everything on the counter (without putting in a bag)gave my wife her receipt and walks away. Honest mistake, maybe it was a long day, My wife then says, Excuse me can I get a bag. The lady says Im sorry. I did charge you for one. So she comes back and throws everything in the bag (she had some glass cream items in there, so my wife had a look on her of could you please be careful) like it was a big hassle and says here you go and walks away again. I wont be taking my wife to this Ulta again.
Had a fantastic experience at the Ulta location on Clark. I usually dont wear makeup, but I came into the store looking to buy some new stuff. Chuy helped me out and walked me through everything from picking the right things to teaching me how to apply it. Thank you Chuy!
I went for hair services and definitely wont go again. Its not worth the time and money. I did total blonde coloring and a haircut (just the ends, straight). Lady who was doing my hair suggested to do bleaching and toner, but said it would be better for me, to charge me as colour correction (since I am already blonde) which costs $40 per 30min. I said ok... She was literally doing 1/4 of my hair, just roots, for a whole hour (and I really dont have that much hair)! She was holding the bleach on my head for 3.5 hours, and my scalp burned... and since she was too slow ( Not to say stalling), on one side of my hair, the color is different and you can see different colour lines... She charged $280 for that... when I asked how much would it cost if she charged for every service and not for 1/2 hour, she said it would be $300-$400. When I paid and walked out, I checked their prices on the website and saw that the total blonde service costs $110 and haircut is $40 (total $150). I dont like being fooled, and that is exactly what she did, besides ruining my hair... If service was good I wouldnt mind, but this is definitely not worth the money...
A nice beauty supply store where you can also get your hair done. The stylists that I have ran into go above and beyond at styling my hair. Their prices are extremely competitive, personally Im amazed at how much it cost for my haircut, my stylist Rebecca was extremely professional and was able to style my hair so well I felt like movie star, in addition my cut cost $300 and Im bald, but I guess I have beard go Rebecca, you really arent cheap, but are...
I normally shop at the Old Orchard location, which has a 50/50 chance of there being a line for checkout. As with all Ulta stores, its sometimes hard to find a sales associate on the floor when you need one, but of the 2 times Ive been here, the store is always neat, and theres never a long line for checkout.
I am so happy that I came to this store the customer service is outstanding. I am very new to makeup the sales women help me find my perfect shade and the cashier Chris gave me a sample of popping highlights I feel so beautiful with my new makeup thanks guys can’t wait to come to the event
I made an appointment to get my brows done. I arrived with plenty of time to spare and waited patiently. I told multiple people I was their for my BROW appt as well. I was told to take a seat and a man proceeded to give me a facial (which I thought was part of my brow appt). I asked if I was still good for my brow appt and he said yes. When he was finished he told me to wait for the girl next to him who was just wrapping up a client so I waited. Next thing I knew she said there wasn’t any time for me! I waited over an hour and was continuously told I was fine! Next time clarify between team members because it’s ridiculous that I asked multiple people if I was in the right spot. I also clarified multiple times I was xyz for my specific time brow appointment. Not a very nice way to treat a customer! So I left and will never be returning.
So I am staying outside of Chicago, in Northbrook and I desperately wanted a haircut. After a quick check, it was evident that Rebecca at this location would be my best shot at looking human again. Well, let me tell you. I drove an hour. Past several other Ulta locations to get here, and it was way more than worth it. Not to draw away from any of the other staff, they were all so nice and very helpful. But Rebecca is the one who performed an absolute miracle on me. Ive been transformed- attached are the before and after pics, and they speak for themselves!
***DO NOT GO*** This parking lot has incredibly aggressive parking security that lurk to boot your car instantly (like, within 30 seconds) and charge you $140 to get the boot off. The shops I called told me the guys were a**holes when I called to ask. Im sure the landlord is counting his money somewhere.

2022-02-22I went into the store right before closing and was greeted by Jordan. I apologized that I was arriving close to the end of the day and that I knew exactly what I needed. He was very welcoming and told me not to rush, I had time to shop. After browsing I asked for some help and yet again Jordan was so helpful and went out of his way to make sure I was able to find everything I needed. At checkout I was helped by Nathan who was very pleasant as well. Amazing service overall. Great customer service and experience, I will definitely be back to this location!

2022-08-08Go somewhere else for salon services. I paid more expecting more, but I should have gone somewhere else.I went to get my ears pierced (55$) for an appointment and explained that I wanted to get three piercings (1 on each side and 1 additional on the top right). The rep was very nice and accommodating, but after getting the single piercing she went to check me out and I asked her if we could do the other two and I found out it would be 55$ for the single piercing and an additional 55$ for the other two. I feel like I was very clear in my explanation at the desk, and repeated it more than once. An increase in price wasn’t mentioned at all.Some places charge 5$ per piercing. I clearly expressed my surprise at this to the rep and at check out, but there was no effort made for a discount or anything like that.I’m not paying $100+ and a tip for 3 piercings taking less than 15 minutes with basic stud earrings. I left with one piercing and still dont understand why we didnt at least start with the 2 piercings first so I didnt just pay 55$ for one piercing.

2022-05-31The staff here are very nice and helpful. I go here for First Aid Beauty products and sunscreen. They also have Love Wellness products which are hard to find in brick and mortar stores.

2022-07-05Unfortunately the staff can be hit or miss here. I’m an ulta member who needed to return a makeup brush. The older sales associate (behind the counter working during the afternoon of January 15th), didn’t look hard enough at the transition and started going on about how she can’t see that I actually purchased the brush. It felt kind of accusatory. I kept trying to tell her that was the transaction when the brush was purchased and that I was absolutely certain. After opening that transaction further, she found that to be true and that I indeed purchased the brush. I wasn’t trying to return a stolen or wrong item. She didn’t even apologize for her mistake. It shouldn’t be stressful to return an item.Regarding stock, this store is pretty decently stocked. I haven’t had much issue finding what I need. I’ve had some positive experience with other staff but that one lady is heavily influencing my review.

2022-01-20The BEST Ulta I have ever shopped at!!!Staff is so knowledgeable and helpful, the store is always stocked with what I’m wanting, every person I’ve ever talked to here has been polite and accommodating.I have had several struggle bus moments here and these little angels always set me right!To the fabulous person who suggested I try Smashbox Halo today - YOU HAVE CHANGED THE GAME FOR ME 😍 Not sure how you could tell what sort of product would be right for me with my mask on/half my face hiding but UGH you did it and I’m in love ☺️ Many thanks!!!!!

2022-02-11I absolutely love the customer service here. In particular a fashionable LGBTQ gentlemen who know almost all products, and with that knowledge can help you find anything to improve your appearance. He worked well with others who really helped elevate guest experience. By far my fave Ulta.

2022-03-01As an avid Ulta shopper this location really doesn’t meet my expectations. It’s a close walk, but the store doesn’t carry some common items others do (I was surprised they carry no dr. Teals) and the customer service isn’t there. Most Ulta’s the workers are overtly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, but at this location I find I am hardly ever greeted and one cashier in particular I usually check out with doesn’t ever seem like they want to be working. I made a purchase tonight and when going to use my card, this worker I’ve interacted with a few times takes my card from my hand and instructs me on how to use the tap feature (that I didn’t know my card had). It felt very strange and I’m not completely sure why she felt the need to take it from me and use a somewhat condescending tone.

2022-04-30Whatever you do - dont leave the parking lot. The parking service Ulta supports charges $170 and will boot your car, even if you are out of the parking lot for 10 minutes. The parking here is predatory.
