I went to look for eyeliner and an associate was very helpful. I found exactly what I was looking for. I went up to pay and the associate took care of my purchase. Before I paid I was asked my first and last name, phone number, address, and my DOB. I said no this is to much info that they dont need to know. She said just to let you know if I have to return anything that I will have to provide that info. Wow so very hoity twoity. Well I will never give them that info. I will never have to return anything because I will never shop there again! In the world we live in today. They should no better than to ask for a DOB. Never going back!
Employees have absolutely horrible customer service qualities. Daisy Jaramillo is very rude and disrespectful used inappropriate language and gestures towards a customer. This store had no employees available to help with customers who had questions or to help with check out.
I absolutely love this store and staff, one employee in particular just lights our bloomington store up, Carly H. She was so helpful in finding products specifically for MY needs, and I love everything she picked out for me. She always has a smile and so eager to help. She will be my go to girl from now... Ulta you have a true rock star. She is so knowledgeable. I cant give this store and Carly enough praises if I could give them 12 stars I would
I picked up a few items at my local Ulta, including a bottle of Philosophy’s Amazing Grace Rose Ballet Spray Fragrance. I noticed the display was listed for $22.00, and there were several bottles behind it as well as the different scents of the same size on the same shelving row listed for $22.00 too. Upon checkout, it rang up for $50.00. When I mentioned this to the cashier, she seemed to disbelieve me, so I walked her to the display to show her my item displayed with a $22.00 cost as well as an entire row of similar sized Philosophy scents with equal pricing displays. She told me they were in the wrong spot and it wasn’t stocked right. I asked her if the store would honor the display price and she told me no. It is NOT up to me as a consumer to discern prices that are displayed incorrectly, especially an entire row of items. Every other retail store I’ve been to has always honored their displayed pricing and corrected the issue internally. This kind of confusion is why many consumers elect to do amazon or other online sites. I was not offered any apologies for this either.Last week I also had gone to pick up some gold under eye brightening masks I’ve seen on skincare blogs. When I asked where they were located, an associate took me to a Peter Thomas Roth display and showed me a $90 item. I asked if there were any others as the ones I’ve seen online are in the $10-15 range, but she said those were the only ones they had. Today I found the ones I was looking for by stumbling upon them in a different area of the store for $10. Seems like I was being misled to purchase a much more expensive product.
Had a promotion in store for free gift with purchase- signage everywhere -and so after spending a great deal more time and money in the store I was nonchalantly told oh sorry- we are out of gifts I had already talked to 2 other people in the store about how the promotion worked. Not once did anyone mention they might be out 🙄 or check if they still had product to give out. I felt very played...not sure I will be able to shop here anymore. This is why I shop online... I would add that I got a brow service done and she was great! It was at the checkout that I realized I had been played by false advertising.
I love makeup, and hair stuff so of course I love Ulta, but the staff is something else to be desired. I live not 2 mins from here, and when I need something beauty related this is where I go. However, my problem is that every single time I go, and buy something that has a free item is gone, or they cant find it, or they dont know what Im talking about. Saturday went for Hairspray (not knowing of the sale), and right when you walk in the door was a bunch a different ones on display with a big sign that said free gift. Grabbed the one I wanted, waited in line, got up there, ringed me out, and I asked which free gift came with it, and the lady was super rude what are you talking about. I explained, and her response was I dont know. She looked at the other cashiers for help, and they just looked at me, and pointed to the shelf behind her. She had to ask what free gift it was (the sign said.) She couldnt find it, just grabbed something, and threw it in my bag. If you work here you should of seen the signs all over the store.... I wish this was the first time this happens, but nope. So Sunday when I needed shampoo, and conditioner I went to beauty brands which was a few dollars cheaper, and the safe was super nice.
I have high standards, The employees greeted me upon arriving also Catherine went above and beyond to help me with all my products I purchased today.I had an idea what I wanted, but I was not sure the products were right for my complicated skin. Catherine explained why I definitely need the products I already researched also introduced me to a few others. The way Catherine was extremely knowledgable and personable I was sold! Also the way I was greeted by the ladys upon entering the store it was all around a Great Experience. Look if you want to be your best in this fast past life you need to look your best. I highly suggest to go shop at Ulta in Bloomingdale.
They may have had what I needed but the customer service was awful. No one helped us when we entered. I eventually looked up to find to associates staring at us while I browsed the colognes. Thats when I realized we were being racially profiled. They never carne over to ask what I needed. Just stared to make sure we werent stealing. When I left the store to ask around the mall to see if there was a better place to buy cologne a guy working at a booth confirmed to me that location was known for being racist.
I walked in looking for foundation and an eyeliner brush. I wasnt really sure where to look but was helped by an employee named Amanda. She color matched me and and thoroughly explained everything I was asking about. Im really grateful to have had such a kind and knowledgeable person helping me out! Definitely will be going back again.
The line was exceptionally long (Saturday during holiday season) and the wrap arou d was poorly placed, as customers seeking out Morphe brand had to squeeze past a crowded line between shelving. But the employees did their best to keep the line moving, which was helpful.
I agree that the store associates are hit and miss, the ones that are into beauty are the ones that should be working there. It seems like the upper management is always stressed.The benefit brow bar is consistently great, they listen to what you want and remember who you are!
Worst customer service ever!!! Have been trying to talk with someone for almost a month and nothing. No response to email and keep getting transferred and hung up on. Trying to fix one small error in an online gift card. Highly suggest taking your business elsewhere to a company that actually cares about its customers.
I love shopping at ulta but this location at Bloomington is so bad. The workers don’t even want to help you and looked annoyed while you’re explaining what you’re looking for, specially when wanting to try a product like a concealer or foundation. Not spending my time here or money for that matter!
I will never schedule an appt in the salon again! My daughter had an appt at 2:45 for a make up application for prom, we were scheduled for a 45 minute appt which gave her plenty of time to get to prom pics afterwards. We checked in at 2:25, obviously early and the girl at the desk told us they would page her when they were ready. We waited until 3:05 when I finally went and inquired how much longer at which time I was told that I didnt check in!! I pointed out the girl that checked us in and the manager then says well, she must not have told the girl you were here!! The point of checking in is???? Anyway, finally at 3:25, she is seated for her appt and we now do not have 45 mins to spare so the girl rushes the appt and we leave there at 3:50!! I could understand 15 mins or so but 40 mins late, not acceptable!!
I am honestly kinda fed up with ulta. I love a bunch of products at ulta and their prices are good but I am so frustrated with their website. I’ve gone there a bunch of times and EVERY time except for MAYBE one they were out of something that said was in stock on the website. I understand this stuff happens but like every time Is too much. Plus out of the many employees I have come across at ulta only a small percentage of those were actually kind and helpful.
I shop here because they have the products / brands I am looking for. I can’t say it’s because of their employees because no one ever asks if I need help. I must look like I work there because I get their customers asking me for help. I get that labor budgets are cut, however it’s always a nightmare trying to find what I need because nothing is stocked. I have now utilized online shopping.

2022-02-01I buy all my hair products, and makeup at Ulta. They have a great selection, and are always having sales. Dont forget, you can always use their online coupons towards your purchase. Saved me 20% on one item.

2022-03-04I just follow my lady around when she comes here.. Ill use the restroom which is clean and smells alright.. Then I wonder off to the cologne and smell a few spray one on me if I like it. Then find my wife and start complaining and start telling her lets go now... You know man stuff

2021-08-31I shop here for various simple things from time to time, when I want more specific options. Ive always found employees to be helpful and have good product suggestions for my needs. I had to return a product over the weekend and it was completed in less than a minute, hassle free. All I had to do was show the E receipt, let them know reason for return, and done.
