Tonys Fresh Market in other cities:
I used to love making my weekly purchases here. Not anymore I’ll only come when I need to get something quick like meat and deli department items. They introduced their self checkout isle and this really became a huge inconvenience to me, most times I only have time to do my shopping late and when I come there are no registers open and you have to use the self check out, and well let’s just say all my items don’t fit on the small platform and have trouble fitting it all without falling, so I decided to take my weekly shopping elsewhere. The self check out drove my anxiety through the roof, so I decided to go to aldi and I’m saving so much $$$.
FIX YOUR SELF CHECK OUT IF WE HAVE TO DO THE WORK OURSELVES!!!!!! This is RIDICULOUS NO CASHIERS AT ALL!!!! More MONEY for your pockets at the INCONVENIENCE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!!!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!! $162 Dollars spent here to have to deal with your HORRIBLE SELF CHECKOUT!!!!!!! Also check YOUR PRODUCE because they have MOLD AND ARE ROTTEN.
A little disappointed at the quality of service because because the store has several young teenagers that help put away stock when a question Is asked of them where do you find a specific product theyre not sure and leave you in a maze of aisles where they believe the product is at
I am an elderly person, at the checkout I was treated very badly by the cashier, I know that I will not return to your store., Going to another store, I did not encounter such rudeness when shopping in another store the girls are nice and helpful, unfortunately I did not experience it in your store is sad to be treated so badly
A bunch of expired food on a shelve!I told the guy(G arret)that was working the dairy department just giving him heads up so he could inform his manager this guy got really angry and told me it was not his department as soon as I asked for his manager he pretended to care and grabbed the expired item from my hand and took it to the front end cashier, I just wanted for someone to remove the expired dairy products because someone could get sick from this,Since G arret was extremely rude and doesn’t care for his job or anyones health I decided to call the Food & Health inspector I provided pictures and videos of all the expired foodThis happened on12.06.2021This happened by dairy products in front of the deli department5:10pm-5:17pm around this time if the manager wants to see the video, I took pictures and a videoTo Management please feel to contact me if you need more info
Due to the global CORONAVIRUS outbreak pandemic. State & Local Mandates enforced by business employees plus customers. Great location for surrounding communities. Plenty of FREE parking. No 7 cents per bag! Reasonable prices for local supply of certain goods is limited. Tonys goal is for all customers to purchase what they need to care for Friends Family themselves so that they can serve as many customers possible! Harlem & 87th Saturday March 12th organized sale items available. Lines moving thxs Tonys employees!
I have always shopped at this Tonys for more than ten years. Never had a problem until Today at checkout. The cashier Alexa was having a full on conversation with another worker. Not once did she attend to me, greet me, or tell me my total, and was bagging my items wrong. She was just there to gossip and chit chat while not doing her job. When I asked for her to tell me my total she pointed at the screen and said it’s right here and started laughing with her other coworker. She had the nerve to give me the receipt and with a smart remark said YOU ARE WELCOME giggling with her coworker. Management should train their employees on their customer service. I don’t need no one’s attitude after a long day of work.
Great place to shop for all of your grocery needs. Its never overcrowded and they have a great selection of fruits, vegetables and many other items. I feel they have the best bakery and pastries in the area compared to Fairplay, Jewel and Walmart. Their parfaits, cupcakes, cakes, and other desserts are hard to pass up! I posted pictures of what they have to offer. Its endless!! Their deli department is also very good with a lot of different meats, cheeses and other prepared foods available. Their shelves are always well stocked and have friendly courteous people.
Love, love love! I started going here when stores around my house had you wait in lines to get in. Ever since then when I go here I’m always in and out no long lines. Good prices, some maybe over priced due to COVID, but other then that great place to shop. And they fried chicken in the hot section is mouth watering good!
This is a decent grocery store. They always seem to be busy. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. The cashier and bagger both seemed overwhelmed? and neither responded to well wishes for the holiday season. Thats a shame. One less star for not being friendly.
Tonys Fresh Market located in Bridgeview 87th and Harlem, This store Is considered a full-service grocery store meaning ,you go to the store, get your selections bring them to the cashier. The cashier rings up the order, passes the food to the bagger and the bags the groceries. That is a full-service store!!! thats how you guys been forever and model that that way, now you added self-checkouts and now on top of that ,when I went into the STORE TO shop I wasnt even given the option to choose whether or not I wanted to do a self check-out .I had more than 30 items and when I got in there I asked the person running the front, is there a cashier? and Im told no cashiers only self-checkouts are available until 9 AM.i did not like that, The fact that I had to ring up my own groceries bag my own groceries and yet pay the fees of a full-service store and other customers in that store felt the same way. I called for the store manager when I completed my order explain my situation and his reply was , well you should have called someone and we could have got someone there. .... that is such a joke and a lie because he was standing there filling bouquets while all the other customers are saying can you please open up a register he simply walked away when he started hearing that as if he did not notice!!!! so that is ridiculous and I will never shop there again !!!!and I hope everybody follows that example and this is going to be placed on yelp and any where else I an think of...very disappointed in your food chain....Pete
Every Sunday morning an employee is outside collecting garbage bags from the garbage cans outside the store. But he is useing a shopping cart to transport all the garbage. Really!!! Was the cart i am useing to shop used for garbage collection yesterday or last week???
I DONT LIKE THIS STORE!!! THEY Discriminate on BLACK PPL!!!! AND THEY FEEL WE ALL STEAL FROM STORES!!! I WILL NEVER GIVE THEM ANOTHER DOLLAR!!! EVERY TIME I COME IN THIS PARTICULAR LOCATION THE BALD HEAD STORE MANAGER WITH GLASSES FOLLOWS ME. AND DOES IT ALL THE TIME... THE OLD MANAGER WAS REALLY COOL BUT SINCE ITS MAJORITY HISPANICS WORKING THERE HE FEELS WE BLACK FOLKS STEAL.. THEN HE HAD A BLACK MAN FOLLOWING ME LIKE I WOULDNT NOTICE.. GUESS WHAT???NOT ALL BLACK PPL STEAL!!
I very seldom leave reviews but this was totally outrageous. I purchased fish on 7/27/20. Read online that wild caught is supposedly better for you. Saw that varieties were on sale at Tonys, I purchased Tilapia, lake trout, and cod. Placed fish in fridge, on 7/29 took it out to freeze in meal size portions. The previous day every time I opened the fridge there was a foul smell thought maybe an item went bad checked and didnt find anything. I could not believe it was the fish because sell by date had not even passed. It was the fish, the most horrible smell imaginable. I had to triple bag to mask smell and not have it stink up my car. Was given refund but Im appalled that there was no outrage and urgency shown for the possible harm that could come to someone eating that garbage. I will not shop at the store again. Please beware.
Customer service here is horrible! The girl at the bakery gave me the wrong order, when I return to let her know she got upset with me. It was no big deal for me, just wanted the stuff I ordered. At the check out it was stressful and hectic. There seem to be many upset customers. Cashier was ok, but was not greeted or thanked, thats just basic customer service. Kept hearing in the Public Address speakers that a customer needed help in Liquor department at least 5 times and throughout my time shopping. So, Tonys doesnt really stress customer service. I dont think Ill return to this location and I dont recommend this location.
Had a bittersweet experience at this store... Had some family members from out of town that wanted to buy some skirt steak before they left. We rushed to Tonys, arrived at 9:45pm to purchase meat. We placed order and the two butchers were extremely friendly and very accommodating. They prepared our order and we were on our way. We were very grateful! When we were at the register there were three employees, 1 male cashier and 2 employees bagging groceries (1 male and 1 female). The cashier and the female employees were very friendly and professional. The male employee bagging the groceries was far from that! He appeared to be in a very foul mood. While he was bagging the groceries (with an attitude) he grabbed a bag of mangos and threw them in a bag then proceeded to toss small cans of tomato sauce on top of the mangos. I asked him nicely if he could stop doing that as there were mangos in the bag. He looked at me with an attitude, pulled the mangos out of the bag and threw them in another bag. They slammed on the counter pretty hard. Im not sure why he felt that was necessary but his awful attitude was completely unacceptable. That is how good businesses lose customers. I called and spoke to manager Eli to express my disappointment. He was very nice and apologized for that employees actions... Im not looking for this young man to be let go but perhaps someone can take the time to explain to him the importance of kindness and good customer service. A simple life lesson that will help him for many years to come...
Some workers have a negative attitude when taking a customers orders in the afternoon, so I’ve been going in the mornings instead. The deli worker, Erik is very nice, friendly and has a positive attitude each time I go! As long with some good managers there too very nice 👍🏼.
One of the best stocked and clean stores I have been in. The butcher shop was very helpful and cut my selection of meat just the way I requested it. The sea food was fresh and very appealing. My favorite acquisition was a bottle of freshly squeezed orange juice, bottles rite in from of me. Now I understand why it’s call Tony’s finer foods.
Therese the manager of the deli is extremely awesome! They were out of the Italian subs and she personally made me one so I didnt have to go to another store God bless this womans heart for doing this. I dont normally shop Toni but I will always go to their Deli after the service I received from Therese the deli manager thank you again
Went into store to find out no shopping carts were available . The cart attendants both were inside talking to each other and ignoring customers asking for a cart. Decided to leave then. As leaving , witnessed customers themselves walking outside and getting there own carts . The customers that of course decided to stay and shop
If I could give 0 stars I wouldI was in this Tony’s on 11/14/20 @ 8:30pmThere are 6 checkout lanes not a single person on one, mind you I have a shopping cart full of foodI ask an associate if anyone is working today and I get informed the self checkout is open so I’m supposed to scan a full shopping cart of groceries because on a weekend there isn’t an adequate staff to attend customersI hope management takes this review serious or they better not wonder why no ones shops there anymoreCustomer service is not something they do hereI think Marianos will be getting my business from now on at least they have a staff ready willing and able to do their job
Tonight I start prepping for dinner. Pull the chicken out of the fridge. I open the package...I wish you could smell these nasty things.(actually no) They are rancid! Not hungry anymore!! The sell by date is still three days away. I Called to see what I could do..... Nothing!Last time Ill shop here. Stand by your product! Lost a customer over 8$ worth of rancid chicken!!
Convenient location but product is not always kept up. Be sure to check every date marked on your purchases. I have purchased expired items or items within a day or two of being expired. If you are ok with checking every single date on items its not a bad place to shop. The employees are friendly and the prices are reasonable.
Over the past couple of years, I would go to Tonys about 6-12 times a year. EVERY TIME I go there for sale priced items, at least half of the items I am looking for are out of stock. EVERY TIME.It doesnt matter if I go in the morning, at night, on the weekend, on a weekday, it always happens. It got to the point where if I am looking for 8-10 sale items, I would be happy walking out with 3-4 of them.Tried one last time today, nope, of course not. Out of stock.Well, it may have taken me well over 20 times to realize that this is NOT normal for grocery stores and I have many other options in the area.I will not shop here ever again.
Pretty good sale but very confusing with how they write their sales prices. Definitely not for people that watch prices while having kids unless youre sipping alone and have time to read each and every sale tag because they each have 3 to 4 different prices on what it could be.
Choices are fresh and the variety is great. Today I asked a young man for help and he wasnt helpful and he walked away without assistance. Then at the check out line I thought it was the same guy. I told where I found the product. Mr Louis said You didnt ask me because I know where everything is in this store. Now very customer friendly!!!
Tonys Fresh Market is one of my favorite places to shop because it ALWAYS has the freshest meats and cheeses and produce! I have NEVER as of yet to have bought anything that wasnt of the highest quality and tasted the best when I got home and prepared my meals.Shop at Tonys Fresh Market! You wont be disappointed!!😊
Tonys Market on 87th St is huge. They have a big selection of produce and deli products. Prices are generally good.I have 2 complaints. The first is that it is incredibly busy on weekends and it is very hard to get by all the shoppers and their carts. I have been known to leave my cart in the outer aisle of the produce section and try to dart into the smaller aisles reaching around carts to grab an item I want so that I dont.get stuck in a small aisle waiting for room to get my cart out.My second complaint is the layout. You come past the registers, then the deli section and you have to go through the crowd in produce to reach the back of the store. Which is the only way to get to the canned or packaged aisles, the meat, dairy and frozen foods sections.. The aisles are very long, to then get back to a register. This set up does not allow for a quick trip to pick up. few items. You have to travel over at least half this huge store to get back to a register. If you are just getting milk. You are taking a walk along the outside aisles of the entire store. Good for exercise but not for time.So if you are doing a full shop, the layout is ok. If you can shop during the week while most people are at work, youre golden.
This location is the worse Tony I have been. Every time I buy there prices at the register are diferent from signs on the floor which makes me waist my time waiting for them to go check. Second Cashiers are rude specially a girl name Alliaha or something like that. She discriminate against customers.
Convenient to grab some food from my workplace. Good sales, too. Working in retail, I understand these are some of the younger peoples first job and retail is hell psychologically, but management could train their employees on customer relations. However there are a few emoloyees there that are just pleasant.
Tonys is a clean store. Its not real big like jewel. I go there all the time. They have everything you need. There is a couple cashiers who have an attitude problem. Some have no baggers. They have to bag the groceries themselves. Im handicapped and the cashier wanted me to bag and load my cart.Thank goodness there was a kind man behind me and helped me without asking. I spend plenty of money in there store I should get some service. Not asking for much.I also asked the grocery bagger to double the bags cause there so cheaply made. They put 8 cans of vegetables in a bag and bag broke trying to carry in the house.
This Tonys need better staffing in the deli department. They were only two people working and a training a young man which he had no clue how to properly wipe down the machines, or deal with safety issues when it comes to cross contamination. He was wiping his face with his sleeve and coughing towards the meats without changing his gloves. Very nasty.....
I live in the Bridgeport area and travel all the way to Tonys fresh market for my shopping. I love the meat selection. Also the prices. I have had nothing but satisfaction from here. I have recommended this store to many friends and family. Thank you for all you do for your customers
I stopped here only because it was on my way home. I bought two packages of breakfast sausage that were on sale 2/$5. Between the packages they hid the expired packages with a discounted price of $1.79. I didnt realize it until I got home and cooked them. They smelled and tasted terrible. Those 2 packages were garbage. Bacon was also one day away from expiration. The chicken I bought had a foul smell and taste eventhough they were not expired. IVE NEVER HAD SUCH BAD LUCK IN A GROCERY STORE. I will definitely not shop there again.
Weve been living in Bridgeview for about 16 years. Tonys was your friendly neighborhood store. This place has changed dramatically. Beware of the deli. Rancid meats and cheeses. Over priced. Rude seemingly over worked employees. The store staff and general atmosphere has changed. I really miss the way this store used to be.
I went to return some bottles of wine I bought. Yes I had my receipt and the shopping bags they were in. At first I was told I could not return them because I bought them at a different store and because I bought them a few days prior. I said its within the 7 days outlined on the receipt and Tonys is a franchise. It is the same company. The manager THEN said I couldnt return them because I could have stolen them and he had to call the other store to have them check security cameras to prove I actually bought the product. I asked for this store policy in writing and his contact info, but he wouldnt give me that. He just wrote on my receipt that I tried to return the products and then got on his cellphone and turned the other way.I felt less than human and was appalled that even though I had a receipt, security cameras had to prove I wasnt a thief. I also still havent seen this store policy in writing or any policy saying that if you buy something from one Tonys, you can not return it to another store.
Slow service at the deli. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it took almost an hour. While the cheese was out on the table the worker started shaking out the rugs and dust got all over the lunch meat and cheese that was laid out. Absolutely ridiculous, when i brought the issue up to manager, it was ignored.
The products are okay but I have never ran into an employee at Tonys that was courteous or helpful I am not Hispanic so maybe thats their problem because theyre all Hispanic employees and they treat you like your garbage they dont want to help you. you ask them a question they ignore you. theyre just very ignorant to you if youre not Hispanic. for a place of business the employees are just very very ignorant at least the Tonys that Ive gone to on 87th and Harlem.
Very disorganized placed I was there a week ago and lining up my next number at the Deli department. As I supposed to buy Potatoe salad. While I waited for the number to get called I guess 64 a very unlucky number. The Lady 0r the store clerk on that Deli said she called already my number and shell get back on me while she needed to attend to the another customer. What the F word I left all my groceries that I supposed to pay. I guess the Manager should train this people about Customer Service and the Value of work ethics. Theres a lot of people who were jobless and can get that job any minute 😖
Mold on meat and they found a dead rat in the deli. So disgusting this place should be closed down. Was in the paper you can Google it. EwwwwwwwUpdate owner message me telling me that these were false accusations and if I needed to address something to address his email address directly. This is something thats a fact is in the newspaper and you can Google it so Im not putting out any false information.
If I can give this place for selling meat no stars I would, I bought over $80 worth of ribeye steak about 10 days ago when it was on sale for a family picnic, I freezed it and took it out this morning, I grilled it today and oh my god it was nothing but chewy like rubber, none of my guests could even eat it and just went staight to garbage, thanks god I had burgers and hot dogs to grill. I wish I had my reciept to take the cooked meat back and got my money. Never buy good steak when on sale at this place. I shouldve known that the price was too good to be true for the ripeye steak.
My First time visiting was yesterday at the bridgeview IL location love the supermarket great prices, very clean with a friendly customer service towards every customer you wont be disappointed Ill be returning back this will be my favorite supermarket for now on !!! 10 stars not 5 for my review 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I have been shoping at Tonys (5yesrs)since i lived in Hillside so I would always shop at the Tonys in Melrose Park. Loved that store it was big and clean. I then had to move to Bridgeview and have been shopping at TONYS for years. This store is smaller but still offer alot of ethnic foods and clean .I hope you can expand the Bridgeview store .
On the day I went their were only a few employees there so the lines were really long. Plus a lot of their food was either close to expiration or expired. And on top of that their food is more expensive than places like Marianos and Jewels. The only reason I went is because a friend said they sold meat bundles which they dont.
If I could give this zero stars I would. I dont recommend anyone working here, I really dont. I worked here and I quit because I was being mentally abused by many of the employees especially by associates manager, Saleh. Hes gotten away with a lot of his behavior, he harasses employees and doesnt work. He walks around the store too and talks to his friend on the phone instead of insisting customers.
This rating is for the check cashing dept only. Latonya is very rude. She wasted lots of my time, very unhelpful, very nasty attitude. Latonya made it impossible to cash my payroll check. Acted very racist against white people. They should take check cashing off of their sign. Shame on Latonya.
Cheapest Food store in area of southwest suburbs...The closest one to this is shopnsave dont even go there prices are double compare to Tonys...they have lots of stuff from their own deli, bakery , vegetables, fresh meats, lots of polish, spanish and chinese food products....and of course frozen products...big parking lot and late open is a plus .. BUT WATCH OUT FOR SPIDERS IN RED GRAPES!!

2022-06-22Experience bad customer service on 6/22/2022 by NAYELI.She did not greet me, did not answer anytime I thanked her for bagging my items or when I asked how her day was, and didn’t even tell me my total. I felt as if she was bothered that I even showed up to her register. I understand if she had a bad day, but at least ACKNOWLEDGE the customer! As a paying customer, I expect good service, just like everyone else does!Called the manager and he didn’t seem to care either!

2022-06-12Shelf price of item $2.29 at register $3.49, times that by 3. I consider that overcharge. So busy lifting bags to cart did not notice until I got home. And bag heavy with cans. Rare visits

2022-04-30Zero registers open while giant lines form at the self checkout while 5 employees watch. Produce is rotten, deli and bakery overpriced. Constantly charged wrong prices. Managers stand and do norhing. Avoid at all costs.

2022-01-20Clean. Helpful people. Nice selection of Hispanic cooking needs (for us adventurous non Hispanic/Latino people) good selection of produce and meats. Could improve on fresh seafoods but they may just not have the demand for it. Great prices.

2021-11-13I really enjoyed shopping at this stop. They have so much selection its crazy. The deli is absolutely huge along with the fresh produce. I can literally buy everything for the family for a month in one visit. The prices are really good and they always have plenty of items on sale. Parking lot is nice and easy to navigate and all of the store employees are very nice. All and all, I think I found a place Ill be going back to every time I need something.

2022-06-19Please look at expiration dates. From fridge items to regular groceries. I shop weekly and every time I see expired goods.
