Really, really wanted to like this place after reading all the reviews. Picked up our order on Saturday night. When I opened it up I was basically looking at 2 pieces of bread with barely any toppings on it. So if you’re into spending $34 on 2 small flatbreads with barely a topping or sauce on it, this is your spot. If you want your food to look like the pictures, maybe go somewhere else. I have never been so dissatisfied in my life with piz….er…..bread.
Fabulous food. Light and delicious crust. Fresh ingredients. A gem in Bloomington! So glad we tried them while visiting the area from Chicagoland. A must visit!!!
Absolutely incredible. If youre in the mood for pizza, give Original Pinsaria a try. They only use top notch ingredients and you can just taste the quality with every bite.I always order the Romulus and add the calamata olives. Its my favorite! I just wish they were open on Sundays!
Great pizza, Pinsa Romana for those who have not enjoyed it, is an old world Roman style of pizza that will remind you of a Neapolitan pizza (IE usually enjoyed in personal sizes with fork and knife) but it is not the same for those with discerning taste buds.From what I can tell this is the real deal, and the pasta sauce is no joke. Other fast casual pizza places simply cannot compete with the quality.I have a few friends who order pizza from Anju Above and I have been telling them to order from Pinsaria instead, it tastes better and the ingredients really go toe to toe.
We passed through Bloomington at lunchtime and stopped here because of the rating, and we were not disappointed! The pizzas are as close to a taste of Rome as you get in Central Illinois-- authentic ingredients and tomato sauce with accessible Americanized options, and the staff present the menu concepts well for guests and proactively alert newcomers to the pizza choices that routinely surprise Americans (like the typical distribution of fresh mozzarella balls vs. shredded mozz). The clean, new, fun and slightly on-the-nose decor gives the place a welcoming ambience. Two wall-sized glamor shots offer a tantalizing glimpse of some of Romes most iconic architecture and *almost* make you feel like youre dining al fresco in front of the Pantheon. Well be back if were ever looking for a quick but fulfilling meal in the area!

This is tucked away right in the middle of B/N - a hidden gem! Pinsaria is definitely a place for pizza lovers especially if you are brave enough to try different types - great variety of flavors, toppings, styles. When we arrived it was digital ordering at the counter and food we received a text to pick up food from the counter when it was ready - very efficient! The staff was friendly and welcoming. They use a fully biodegradable serving model so it’s very eco-friendly. The ambiance is clean and simple - it really is all about the food when you come here.
What a great experience! The best pizza I’ve ever had ! The crust is airy and light and the fresh arugula was on point! The owners were so sweet and and made my son and I feel at home. Also, the cashier was really knowledgeable and helpful! Wish I had pictures of the pizza but it was gone to fast!!!
Very good pizza, I digested the pizza crust well ( a joke in reference to the crust). Im not a huge fan of thin crust but this one was very good as its a traditional Italian pizza. You certainly get what you pay for at this place. The staff is very friendly.
Very nice staff and clean restaurant. The pizza was good but lacked flavor. It needed oregano at the very least. They focus on the crust, which was fine, but it needs more for the price. We split a large salad which was good.
Unlike any other pizza Ive had. Its got a simple wholesomeness to it thats rich with flavor and never has a chemical or preservative taste. From the crust to the top notch ingredients this place is great. Add the fact that you get your pinsa in about 10 minutes after ordering and it cant be beat.
I dont have a bad thing to say about this place. The other reviews are right--the best thing about the pizza is the crust. It really is light and airy with the perfect crunch. It is also slightly sweet so I feel like that dessert pizza is bomb and Im going to try next time. The ingredients all seemed very fresh and the fact that there were such expansive vegan options was AWESOME. The vegan sausage was better than expected. It is a tad bit on the expensive side considering my partner and I both got the larger pizza and finished it that day. We ate about half when we picked it up and the both of us ate the other half about 2 hours later so that gives you an idea of how filling it is as well. Regardless, it was worth the money and the staff was SUPER friendly. The Italians are here, indeed!
Ordered the pinsa, pasta and salad on my first visit. All were top notch. The pinsa was phenomenal. The crust was awesome and the toppings fresh and vibrant. The homemade pasta was light and very tasty. Salad had so many great ingredients. Pick up was quick and I can’t wait to return!
This pinsaria (thin crust pizza) is good, but not phenomenal. I had the vegan pinsaria with vegan sausage, There really wasnt much sausage that I could see on the crust, in fact, very little of anything ( I wouldve loved to have a few more veggies on it). But, having said that, it was good. Im not sure Id make special plans to stop here, but we enjoyed our lunch. I really did like the crust. It didnt sit heavily on the stomach just as the reviews said, but the pizza itself wasnt worth the $40 for our 2 personal pizzas (in my humble opinion). Also, I didnt get my ice tea and had to have a coke instead because they hadnt changed over the ice tea which came out like water. I dont usually drink soda because of all the sugar. The other thing (little, I realize), but peeves me anyhow, is the tip thing. I dont think restaurants should ask for tips when no one is actually serving me. This is just extra profit for the restaurant which is already charging a lot for their food. If you wait on me and give me really great service, I will tip when I am done with my meal. I shouldnt be asked for a 30% tip while paying for the food I then have to go and pick up, get my own drink, and clean up on the way out. We both enjoyed our lunch, but again, not sure it is a 5 star restaurant. Good place for a nice little bite to eat.
This place is amazing! The crust is just as advertised: light, crispy and delicious. A perfect place for a quick and light lunch or dinner (but very filling!) that doesn’t skimp on quality. You can tell that the owner is trying to do everything just right and it shows. The customer service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience! We will definitely be back and we can’t wait to try everything on the menu!
Delicious pizza and pasta. The crust is amazing, its crispy, crunchy, light, & fluffy all at the same time. And its healthier than most crust in several ways. The orange dessert pizza is incredible! An added plus is a friendly & charming staff who seem like theyre having fun together. It was super busy so I had a wait and it was well worth it. Best pizza Ive ever had, Ill be back for sure!
We came in wanting a break from road trip fast food. The staff were so amazing in helping us understand the menu. We thought that we would order pasta, but the pinsa made our mouths water as it was being described. Our son ordered pasta, there aren’t a lot of “kid-friendly” sauce options and fresh pasta has a texture that you have to prepare kids for, but it worked out and we all left with happy bellies.
LOVE this place. Whenever we have family come in from out of town, this is the first place we bring them to!! Their pizzas really stand out and make you wanting more.Also - their nutella dessert look odd at first, but completely worth it.

Delicious and fresh! Love the dough they use for the pinsa! When youve had a meal, it doesnt feel like youve just inhaled a gluten bomb that sits in your stomach all heavy; Here, its more like you get to have all the awesome flavor of a pizza made fresh and authentic, and it sits nice and light afterwards.Definitely on my short list of favorite places to go now!
My fiancé and I tried The Original Pinsaria for the first time on 8/20. We were looking for a new place and had never been here before. I ordered an 8 inch Remus and a small Gianicolo salad. He ordered an 8x13 inch Romolus pizza.The employees were very helpful and friendly and the store was clean. However, the pizzas just did not taste good. There was a huge lack in flavor. The salad was okay, it was very watery on the bottom.With tip, our order was over $40 for 2 personal sized pizzas, a salad and 1 soda. I felt it was very overpriced for the amount of food we received.

WOW! They have great authentic Italian Pinsa Pizza. If you have ever traveled to Italy and you’re looking for an authentic Italian Pizza Pie, this is the place. Healthy ingredients and great tasting pizza. The place is clean and they are very service oriented. They have great out door seating as well.
I was super excited to try this place based on the amazing reviews, so maybe I had my bar set a little too high. The pizza for me was just, OKAY, but not any better than any other pizza place. The crust is different than others, but nothing for me to rave about. Definitely not worth the price, in MY opinion.
Clean and courteous. Had the pizza served in under 10 mins. Pizza was delicious.Would have given them 5 starts except they dont have any hot peppers or bell peppers as an option for topings. Also they dont have to give you crushed red pepper on the side, because they dont have any small serving containers.Bottom line, great food friendly staff. Definitely recommend you try the pizza!
Clean and everyone was wearing masks etc. the pizza was really good and price and size of individual (small) was perfect! They have the best ice too :). Can’t wait to try the different pizzas. Loved it!
We had take out for the first time tonight. The pizzas are fantastic. The flavor is good, the crust is done just right. Customer service was awesome. They made my 5 yr olds day with how they interacted with her.

We had the best experience there, besides the food being phenomenal the workers were sooo kind and welcoming. I cant describe how sweet and fun they were!! This place is the best! I have just discovered this place and I love it! The food is fresh, the dough is sooooo good! And it leaves me feeling full but not bloated. Filling, refreshing and all around good food. So glad to have a place like this in town.
My husband and I felt like having pizza one night but not the usual mass produced kind. We wanted a special experience and that is when we chanced upon The Original Pinsaria. We had seen their restaurant on a couple of occasions and had it in our minds to try it.So that night , we ordered a Remus pinsa , which came with sausage , mushrooms, mozzarella, mutti tomato sauce and truffle balsamic. And we also went for Prati which is basically a side consisting of the Pinsa crust in EOO ,Oregano and Salt.The Pinsa was out of the world. Such fresh flavours and what a delicious crunch. And do make sure to get that side of Prati with whatever you order from them. They were a delicious and crispy bread experience!I cant wait to try their dessert , pasta and salads next!!!

If you like pizza I really encourage you try this. They use the freshest ingredients on there salads and PINSERIA. PINSERIA is a light hand pressed crust. Made with less flour than pizza resulting in a light crisp dough.
I come here often, some might say too often. However, I always have a great experience and the customer service and pinsa are always on point!Recently I made the mistake of ordering a pinsa with vegan cheese. I thought the store had made my order wrong and I called in for a remake. The manager on duty remade the order that I had originally intended to order and when I offered to pay for the remake since I wasted the first - they not only refused to let me pay for my mistake but also gave me a dessert pinsa even though it was my fault.Can’t say enough good things about the Original Pinsaria, I’ll be coming back again and again.

It’s very different than the other pizza places in town. It’s very high quality and the people working there are super friendly
Curbside pick-up is advertised but that isn’t the case. I was told by the manager they would not bring my online order out to me but the inside was packed with all the people waiting for their orders, so I didn’t want to go in due to COVID risks and having a small child with me. I had already paid for my order so I had to have a family member drive there and pick up the order for me. The inside was literally packed and people were not 6 ft apart.
Hands down best pizza in Central IL. Pasta isn’t as impressive, but I’ll keep coming back for that Za.

2022-04-26Wonderful pizza with a unique crust. You can tell the ingredients are better than what the average pizza place uses. That of course means its a higher price but I think it was well worth it.Nice decor. Very clean. Neutral, single-user bathrooms, which are appreciated on a multitude of levels.

2022-06-30Very cool experience, never knew this great Italian restaurant existed. Outdoor seating or indoor dining for an original Italian tasting pizza. Cool murals on the interior walls make for a great Italian atmosphere. Plenty of seating inside and out and conveniently located just off Veterans Parkway. Well worth a visit for the whole family.

2022-03-26Oh my goodness. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. The crust is absolutely delicious and such a wide variety of toppings. We stopped here on our way to Tennessee by looking up highly rated food places. We made sure and stop on our way home a week later. Beautiful place inside. Loved the state of the art order process to design your pizza exactly how you want it.

2021-11-19Amazing service & delicious pizza! I was going to order salad, but due to the pizza being made with no sugar, started with sourdough and then cold-fermented, I decided to try it. It was great! The man who served us (the owner?) had great customer service. He told me lots about the pizza before ordering, was helpful through the ordering process, came to our table multiple times, took our trash & thanked us at least twice for coming in. Definitely would recommend!

2021-07-07We have been wanting to try this place for a while. let me just say, dont wait! Weve been back 3 times now. The crust is perfect and of the 7 different pizzas weve tried, theyve all been delicious. Try the Appia dessert pizza while youre at it, you wont be disappointed.

2021-08-28You order on a kiosk and it is super easy to add or remove ingredients. The crust was really good. Very flavorful. Will go back again!
