The Home Depot in other cities:
I love this Home Depot. There were some new faces in there at the front, and I really didnt have the time to find anyone I knew in there.I was hoping for it to be an in and out trip, as I was trying to put my desk back together and couldnt find my screws for it. (Just moved)Couldnt find the ones I was looking for so I finally found Mike, who was already super busy assisting multiple customers in his hardware department. He had a few quick moments and I am grateful as he found what I needed. (They were out of one size I needed so he guided me to the Ace, which I also have a review for. lol 😉)I used to market for a company in here a few years ago. They are (mostly) all wonderful employees and were work family to me, and treated me as one of them. They were always helpful and I witnessed them use teamwork, hardwork, and dedication plus loyalty every day.I highly recommend the Home Depot in Joliet for ALL your home projects!! 🤘😎*IRISH ☘️ ROSE 🌹 APPROVED*
I went to this store to purchase a piece of lumber and have it cut. I was completely blown away by the amount of support that I received from Jim in lumber!! I had some issues with my dimensions and Jim took the time to help me ensure my dimensions were correct and he was incredibly patient and helpful. I was able to ask lots of questions about how to proceed with my project in the most effective and efficient way possible and received excellent guidance! Additionally, Bruce was a support in lumber as well. I will definitely be returning to this store because the customer service I received from these gentleman was exceptional.
Good location. During the week its a great place to stop. Not much activity, as a contractor, you can get in and out quickly. Saturday and Sundays are normally crazy with the weekend warriors. I recommend coming during the weekday to order doors and windows. Night shift is not as skilled in ordering.
Horrible they have so many working not working its a miracle they make money. Never anyone to help. They have a closet for emoys with alot of stuff and that cabinet was open for as long as we were in there about 3hrs and is still open for babys to get poisoned or hurt with these items left unattended
Great staff came in was immediately helped in lawn n garden n the employee walked me too my desired items n answered all my questions. Wish i caught the guys name but i was also in a little rush. Was even polite enough to hold my non purchased items for me while he showed me the fencing outside n described my options. Terrific experience
Almost abandoned there after buying a large piece of heavy wood. I felt like I was being a burden while I was freaking out trying to figure out away back home. I realize theyre not responsible for my ride but respect for my situation and emotional state wouldve gone a long way
Had to return something and Christine interrogated me and inspected the item, flipped it over 4 times and pulled at every seal like I was a criminal. Brought it close to her face to get a better look. Item was brand new with receipt bought last week. Dont think Ill be frequenting this location again.
Crowded today being Sunday. I must say they had plenty of help out on the floor. Naturally the Garden Dept was very busy. No problem though they had 4 cashiers on duty and they kept the crowd moving which is more then I can say about some big grocery department stores. Very pleased to see Home Depot putting in the effort to help their customers, and keep them smiling 😃..
I was just there today to buy a waste injector pump & parts. I had a question on what pump to purchase, but couldn’t find anyone to help me. I found an employee in a different department and said they would send someone, but no one ever came. I then called customer service while in the store and said I needed help in plumbing and they also said they would call someone to come help me. After another 15 minutes I left and went to Menards who had not 1 but 2 employees in plumbing to help me. Home Depot just lost out on $478 and future purchase, but saved $100 by not hiring enough employees. As a business owner I’m shocked such a large company would risk losing customers to save a few bucks.
***Edit, all lanes are now self check out. They used to at least have 1 cashier lane, hence the change from 5 to 1 star. Everyone hates self checkout**The associates still go out of their way to be helpful and they are very knowledgeable, but the self checkout ruins the positive experience.
They have rules for customers “Must Wear Masks” but their sales associates are not following that rule. Several visits and always several sales people maskless. Rules for us but not for them. Will go to other stores I.e. Menards or Lowe’s etc. Really ridiculous. Do as I say, not as I do.
They have everything. Good luck just finding it. Asking the staff for help is kind of like flipping a coin. You might get lucky and get one of them that knows the layout and where things are, or you may get one of them that put on the orange apron a day and a half ago.
What a difference! Yesterday I went Menards and had to leave with bad experience from Bella.Right away, I went to Home Depot in Crest Hill to buy a bathroom vanity, sink and few other items for a home renovation project. After finding the right vanity and the sink top, I needed assistance to get them loaded. Until customer service, I went looking for the other items.I met Gianna at the paint department. She is also same age girl at Menards (20?). OMG she knows her stuff. Paint no problem; gave here the Sherwin Williams paint code, she suggested a sample size. That was more than enough to patch few scratches on doors. She recommended a brush, she found goof off with no time.Buy the time, O went back o vanity section, the help was there. I was able to leave the store less than an hour. I got $50 discount which did not expect. So no more Menards or their silly 11% rebate. I have to say goodbye.Gianna should b promoted! She should be encouraged to go back to college. What a smart kid! Thank you.
Lots of employees not doing anything. Guy at the pro desk checkout was to busy on his phone to even step out to show me where I could find the item I needed. It was 20 feet from where we were standing. Nice young man was very helpful, walked with me to several different locations looking for a special Stanley knife blade for cutting dura-rock board. They didnt have the blade, but at least he tried. Going to Menard from now on. Home Depot needs to step up their game. Like I said, lots of employees doing nothing.
Went to Home Depot looking for some keys and some replacement plumbing parts. The competition did not have the plumbing parts I needed, they looked like the old part but the notches were placed differently from the original which made it so they would not work. Went to home depot they had a part that was an exact fit but it did not match the brand that I was replacing, the brand not matching did not matter because the part was an exact fit it was great to find something that fit with no modifications. Thanks Home Depot!
When I called the rental desk, I was told they had everything I needed on the shelf ready to go. When I arrived, the tool I need didnt have the extension required. Luckily, the guy that had rented the part I needed showed up right then. Small mix up, but almost wasted a forty minute round trip. The guys at the desk were apologetic. Once I got the tool, they explained how to run it and told me I could scan the QR code on the machine to get a manual. That works for me, but I do think a paper manual should come with heavy equipment. The rental does not include insurance in case you break the tool. So make sure you figure that into the price. They dont tell you until youre checking out. You dont have to pay it, but.. on a thousand dollar tool, whats ten bucks in case you break it? Right? They helped me load no problem, even helped me load items I had purchased, which was really nice. When dropping the machine off, an older man was alone at the counter and asked me to bring the eighty pound machine in on my own. He didnt argue when I told him he was helping me.. but if he cant lift he shouldnt be renting tools out at the counter. Rarely do two people leave a job to go shopping together.Altogether Im happy with the process. Even the older man that had trouble lifting wasnt rude about it. Everybody was courteous. Home Depot really shouldnt be charging extra for insurance on a rental. It seems very hidden fees for a hardware store. A strange rental policy others should be aware of.
I recently rented a sunk pump from this location. While checking out the equipment was a good process, the charges thereafter was not. Originally I was charged on my credit card the deposit and then the remaining fees. Those have been returned as when I returned it, I paid on my debit card. As you would think that would be the end, i am now showing 2 different amounts pending out my account. Neither are for the amounts they totaled, the deposit amount, or extra charges. I called the number that went on my account with the charge (possibly the headquarters in GA) and was told to contact the store. I called the store and was told to contact that number. I go back to that number with the contract number and transaction IDs and the number is saying they cannot assist with store issues. Its a bunch of back and forth with no real answer to clarify what is going on with my account as my money is tied up. Im very annoyed.
I think they are short staffed, some department had no associate, I went around looking for help but the few staff on other departments claim they dont know much about what going on in the department I needed help. So I concluded they are over stressed, or management is just faulty.
Recently for about 6 months or so, Home Depot has had horrible customer service. They have hired a lot of new people who are not helpful. Don’t bother calling. You will just keep getting put to other extensions with people who only pick up to transfer you to someone else who refuses to pick the phone up. Save yourself aggravation and goto Menards, Lowe’s, or any other place that will actually do their jobs.
I thank the associate who helped me in the customer service desk. I believe his name was Shane, he was really knowledgeable when I was looking for an item. In these difficult times I’m glad we still have essential workers who are very understanding and are able to help customers.
Went to this location looking for a toilet handle and asked a worker for assistance who said theyre down there along the wall somewhere which they were definitely not! We found only 3 different colors by one brand down the toilet isle and we asked the cashier do they help their customers anymore? She said we need to find someone wearing a apron and ask them, we explained that we did and the response we got and she then replied oh wow and said nothing else just handed me my change. I knew I shouldve went to Menards and will only shop there from now on. You cant get rid of their associates they show you and make sure you find what your looking for!
Worst location ever!!!! First one of there reps calls to do a home water test promising to give a $50 gift card for my time, then they say they will double it ($100) because they are running late and follow up by showing to my house at 8 pm. The guy leaves and no gift card and the rep that called me keeps saying it’s being emailed. Then I go to buy a lawnmower(toro with Honda motor) they have advertised for $349 and the store has it for $369. When I ask for them to correct the rep tells me that’s the cost of his work and they won’t adjust. I ask to call a manager and they tell me he is the sup and the manager is unavailable. I had to order it online so I can pick it up next day at another location 3 miles away. This store is the worst!!!!Update:I called corporate to notify of all issues and the customer service reps were very nice and took note of everything going on. They were very apologetic and even offered a gift card for the inconvenience. They stated they would reach out to manager of this store to notify since I wasn’t having luck with the reps getting me in contact with them.
Today i went to the Joliet HD to purchase some paint. Fortunately for me The paint desk was manned by a very well informed and extremely qualified young man by the name of Andrew. Not only did he have all the knowledge needed to direct me too the right paint etc be was also able to keep numerous balls in the air simultaneously. He was blending my gallon of paint along with another customers three gallons. -tinting and shaking- while in the middle of this ballet he also fielded questions from another customer about taping options to the point of walking the customer too the correct location and getting him the exact tape he neededAndrew is definitely a huge huge asset for HD and I feel very lucky to have met this young man and to have been assisted by him. What a wonderful employee and what a pleasure to do business with. Thank you Andrew.Mike
There is no communication at all. I placed a order online for in store pick up. Everything ordered was in stock. 10 hours go by with no notice for a ready pick up. I call the store and I’m told that it just needs to be pulled. I’m told I will receive a call right back. Still no response. So 24 hours later I go into the store yo see what is going on and now they say that they are out of stock of one of the items that I ordered. So because no one would pull the order my parts sat on the shelf and the oversold the item that I already paid for. This was only a 3 item order that could have only taken 10 minutes to pull but no that wasn’t done. They could have called or emailed me but nope that wasn’t done. They could have told me when I first contacted them but nope that wasn’t done either. This is really poor customer service. They clearly don’t care about the order because even when I came in they did nothing to try to fix their error. I was simply told too bad there’s nothing that they can or will do. If this is how management trains their employees they might want to retrain everyone. I have had good experiences through the rental department but a total failure by the retail side.
Everyone (customers) seem to be so rude and inconsiderate right now. The staff of this Home Depot are fantastic. In spite of all of the negativity (witnessed by me) they are still helpful and accommodating. Especially Lorraine? In tools and hardware. Just a great group of people. I wish that, in spite of the current issues, everyone would actually take a moment to remember that these are good people. Treat them right, nothing is gained by yelling and stomping your feet.
Not much new at Home Depot, unfortunately. Never anyone around to ask questions to, but I know the store fairly well and know where most things are located. Got everything I needed, plus more (typical), but I forgot some screws I needed. I guess Im going to Ace Hardware tomorrow.
Home depot.... if I could give 0 starts I would. We never have anyone to help us at any home depot and when we finally do get customer service they have no idea where anything is. Everyone should be trained in every department! I hate going to home depot. Last weekend we went to buy trim for our house and needed it cut down into 8ft to fit into our truck but the saws were out of order. Went to another home depot, same thing. Absolutely ridiculous. Went over to MENARDS, they had everything we were looking for already cut into 8ft, 16ft, a whole huge selection nice and neat. Dont waste your time at home depot just go to Menards.
I wanted to make a mother’s day gift for my mom today and my husband wasn’t able to come help me pick out the materials I needed. I brought my Pinterest pic with measurements. Fernando helped me find the right wood, cut it to the right sizes, showed me the right screws to use and later asked if I was still doing okay while I was picking out stain colors. Great costumers service! I will definitely be back for my next project! Thank you!I also wanted to add that the girl at checkout with super nice and help scan all the materials had with a smile on her face! So nice to see.
The workers were friendly enough once I got someone to help me and I was able to get what I need and the home project turned out great. Though some of their prices for the items that I usually buy arent as competitive with paves like menards. But I was satisfied on this visit and the workers really have it their all once I found someone.
Home Depot has a nice selection of household items and a nice garden section for outdoor plants. They all say about Home Depot from me real estate professional or contractor point of view if you fall in that category, the customer service within the store department is not very good. As compared to say I Menards or an Ace Hardware. Also they really try to nudge the customers towards self checkout by having very few registers open with actual people.
Employees were extremely helpful. I bought a refrigerator to be delivered. The delivery process was the best organized of any local store. Their delivery people were very professional and on time. 30 minutes after the delivery, I was offered a survey via phone. They deserve 6 stars!
Visited this store at 2-4-2020 @ 7:30 pm.The staff were milling about at the checkouts in the main isle!I asked for help in the tool department the young man had no clue. When I asked for help from the employees standing around they seemed like they cared less. Not the first bad experience at this location either! Also the main isle was cluttered with displays and blocked some isles. This is could be a serious life safety issue if this continues to be allowed by the management.I walked out with what would have been a $200 sale for this store. Nobody seemed to care when I expressed my disgust as I was leaving. Aside from an older gentleman employee who said we called for someone. Tic toc times up! Spent my money at the competitor.
Staff was great!!! I came into the store to purchase a tool chest. It was on display. But not out on the floor for purchase. They went out of theyre way to locate the stock. And get me one down! I really appreciate the help. Especially the woman at the Pro check out. She was very friendly and extremely helpful!!! Management should be proud!!! They have a really great team in this store!!! I will definitely be returning again!!! Thank you!!!
Ok, so I was very excited to find a great range microwave here. I brought it home only to find out its missing parts. Alright, little annoying but needless I called to make sure they had another one in stock to exchange it. I called they had one left in stock, told them what happened. They understood, I told them I would be in shortly. I asked if I needed to bring the microwave in to get a new one? They said no we can just open this new box give you the missing bracket and screws. I asked are you sure, they said yes. I arrive get treated very rudely by a younger lady in the microwave section saying you bought one on clearance and it’s as is. That’s not true cause I paid full price for one showcase on the floor. She then gave in and said it wasn’t and that I needed to go back home and bring back the other to exchange it. I told her about the conversation on the phone, she told me I was lying. I proceeded to just drive an hour to do the exchange to return with her giving me attitude and waiting 35 minutes for them to get the new one. I have 1000s of more purchases needed for my new home. Need I say, go somewhere else. I won’t be back. The manager did give me 25 bucks off but still I was overall disappointed.
Great place to find anything for your home improvements. There is always friendly staff to help you find what you need if you cant find it. Also if another store has the same item and advertised for less they will honor the competitors prices. I highly recommend this home depot.
Wish zero star could be an option! I wanted to make a patio area, came here to get my supplies. Had 7 yes 7 rude employees walk right past me and not say hello, excuse me, can I help you or anything. They all looked at me or almost walked right into me, no one acknowledged me or offered to help!Screw them! I will take my business elsewhere. I suggest you do the same. They need to teach all their employees customer service skills or at least basic manners!Without your custimers you have zero appreciation for, you wouldnt have a job you clearly dont want!
Going down hill fast. They are under staffed lately. I ordered a window, I think....Ive been waiting for a call back since Saturday to confirm it got ordered because the gentleman that helped me, it wasnt his department. It is now Thursday. Ive called at least 7 times this week and cant get anyone in the window department!I can go else where home depot, long time customer here. They used to have professionals in each department, not the case anymore, and your lucky to find someone when you need them.
We waited for something like 30 minutes to get our wood cut. After first waiting on a customer ahead of us who was being helped, the employee--who had made eye contact with us--promptly turned away and left after he was finished. He never came back. We eventually went to find another employee, who assured us that he would radio for someone to meet us back there. As we waited, we were seen by three other employees who flat-out ignored us.There were not that many customers in the store. It did not seem to be particularly understaffed. But the customer service was abominable. We ended up leaving without getting anything cut. Im generally fairly patient and understanding about this sort of thing, but I draw the line at being ignored for half an hour. After the first fifteen minutes, it begins to feel deliberate.
Stood in garage door opener section for 20 minutes and had no service. Went up front and asked for help am still waiting after 15 minutes. Am very disappointed. Normally love Home Depot but not anymore. Very poor customer service they really need to start helping their customers out a lot more
Mike Muller is a man that knows alot about everything. I came in and had several different projects I was doing and he was so helpful and knowledgeable he is definitely my go to the next time I have a project. He was able to help me from 1 project to the next I did not have to talk to multiple people from different departments. Thank you for helping me with what I thought was going to be super hard projects your advice on what to buy and how to complete my tasks made everything much easier than I thought.
For home improvements projects or repairs, this is my first stop. For the flooring needs, go there and see Shelby or any of the other guys. They can help you out greatly. I can get good help from all the departments when I need it. The store is not over crowded or cluttered and is I have found it clean on all my visits.
Bad store... Looks like Walmart people are working here since no one is willing to help, and everyone is waking away from instead of helping. When it come to return it is even worst! They make you feel like you cant return left overs from any home projects. I dislike bad customer service. I prefer to bring my money were it is friendly people, more people that loves their job and delivers outstanding customer service.
Went there with a project in mind to over winter hanging plants. Once I found the plant brackets that I might mount above the windows, it was a matter of figuring out what sort of rod to use. Of course as usual, no help to be found where the copper pipe & other metal pipes were sold. Walked to lumber dept where a very helpful woman was working and she sized up the pine closet bar that would fit thru the plant brackets. She skillfully cut them by hand to the 7 length I wanted. Then she brought me to the hooks but they didnt have huge S hooks I had in mund, but she offered other suggestions. It was the second time in 15 yrs that an actual employee was there to assist me. Usually another customer is able to help. I think they should have customer help phones around and someone could meet you there for assistance. I really hate the self checkout lines even though there are a few employees around to help out with that.
Went in Home Depot, for last 2 months.Ive bought 4 Hydrangeas this year .I decided I like to get 3 more. There kind of expensive,so I decided to wait till they go on sale.So the last 2 months Ive been then at least 2 or 3 times a week to see if there on sale. Today I asked the cashier while she was reading her phone,if the flowers out the doorway were perriniel. She was pretty snotty and said I dont know. Then and older later time where the annual were. was not looking for annuals. Then another lady was at the cashier came to relieve the other girl. I asked why you were waiting till all the Hydrangeas die, before they go on sale.I told her online there on sale and she said they come from a different company.A flower shop that has the same brand.Isnt that false advertising. I was told to call after 2:00and talk to manager MikeI called Mike is on Vacation.REALLY Well I bought more. Thanks for nothing.Just leave them out there to die.Middle of September , still not on sale.Well I guess you can send them back one of those companies they come from will send you your money back.Pat Bever
I wish I had gotten this employees name but he made my day, by just being kind. I brought my puppy in today because he’s in training for his CGC and Therapy certification. Being in a big store is a good place with distractions for him to practice. He’s still under a year old and being in the store made him nervous at first. I was so embarrassed because my puppy had a nervous poop. The employee, a man in a grey sweatshirt, got me a bag and told me it was okay and that it happens. And then he called my puppy gorgeous. It’s just the little things. I’m thankful for his kindness.
I brought my brother and sister in for the kids program that they have the first Saturday of the month. Its a program where the kids can build a small project using a kit that is provided, a hammer and a screwdriver. All of the projects are cool and easy to build and the kids that I bring no longer need my help because they can use a hammer now, which is the whole point of the event. It is definitely the place to be on a Saturday morning with the kids.
I was here 12/22/18 @ 1:22pm when I came into this facility.Ive been a valued customer for a number of years and Ive never felt so disrespected and humiliated. The customer service representative Christine spoke loudly infront of other customers and a fellow co-worker. Not sure if I will ever come back due to this bad experience.
One of the worst places for costumer care. All Employees Work Really HARD on there CELLPHONES.....there are10-20 people but they all hiding in bathrooms or with groups somewhere in store and as you come to ask for help they go away like they dont see you....LOL THIS ONE IS THE BEST USE THERE REGISTERS PHONES TO CHAT WITH OTHERS ...its like you dont exist you spending thousands and you need to wait until they finished there text then they scan your stuff..... love it...I work with rebuilding homes....one of the places in there carpeting service is really good thanks.
Being a pastor I experience a lot of people. It didnt just warm my heart, it burned my heart to know that there are people as caring as Jim E. in this world! I was in the tool rental section and he went way over and beyond for me. While I was waiting another guy who was sent away from the Shorewood store stressed his disappointment, and for good reason, and Jim did the same for him changing this guys day for the better. I usually shop at Menards, but Jim made me Home Depot for life! Keep hiring people like this and you win! And to think, I almost went to Menards and got the same-as-usual service!
Right now as I am writing this I am very mad at this place that has such a huge business. Lets start with when I first went in the store I was told 2 diffrent prices on labor for carpet and floor (Im sure it was a mix up but as things keep happening I have a feeling no one knows what they are doing here) so I schedule for the guys to come out and measure my carpet in the rooms needing replaced and the hardwood. Well 2 days go by and they had the wrong carpet logged in the measured only certain rooms and everytime I call the person behind the phone doesnt even know why or what is going on. Im very unhappy with how all this is going. If I was anyone else go call an actual professional this is bar far the most unprofessional I have seen let alone I had to keep calling them because they never would call me when they said they would. Its like dealing with babys. Everytime I keep calling they hang up on me what s freaking joke this place is if I was do NOT GO HERE !!!!! HORRIBLY DISRESPECTFUL AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND THEIR SUB CONTRACTORS ARNT THAT BRIGHT EITHER SERIOUSLY IF YOUR GOING TO WANT IT DONE RIGHT !
I was planning on purchasing finished cabinets today and came in to speak with the cabinet department. They were all (3) very unhelpful and bothered by asking for help.Debbie was the one that helped us. Her tone was rude and was very reluctant to help. We were discussing a blind cabinet and its placement. She asked with an attitude are you planning to open this door and we responded yes. She said well you wont and walked to her desk. We provided a full drawing with all sizes and layouts. As well as a cost from a small business location. When she was done all she did was leave the cost (which was $200 less than the small business) of cabinets on her desk as we were looking at the countertops. When we turned around she was no where in site.Because of this I will not buy any items for my full kitchen project from Home Depot.Debbie if you dont like customer service you should get out of it. You cost Home Depot at least a $5-6k just in cabinets.Ended up spending the same amount at HOBO.
Went there for a free kids building event w/ my son. That was great! But then I needed a part for my fence and after finding they didnt have enough of the part on the floor, I went w/ what I had to an employee to see if there was more, which he did confirm they had alot more but from there they dropped the ball. No one would go look for it, all anyone did was again look it up on the computer confirming they had more but refuse to go look for it even though I was the only customer standing there. It got to a point where I just picked up my son and walked out the door leaving behind a cart filled with other merchandise. Ill go for the kids event but Ill shop at Menards from now on.
Me and my husband bought carpet for 4 rooms hallway and 2 set of stair plus life proof vinyl for our dinning room. We both told them that this was our first home and first time buying flooring. Today the contractor shows up to do the vinyl in the dinning room. He rips up all my flooring and promptly tells me that the floor is uneven and that it is going to be a big job to even it out. I was like ok but we had Home Depot send someone out to measure and was told when we were setting this up that they would let us know if there would be a problem. Then he tells me it’s going to be an additional 1,400 to be able to put my floor in. And the kicker they sent white trim that doesn’t match anything and since my flooring is going to go up higher to level it that they would have to take my base boards off which mind you is not white. So we had to get new base boards. When I called the store the first time my husband asked to speak to a manager and a guy named Brian told my husband he is a manger which we found out later he is not. He explains the break down to my husband then we finally get a manger named Nairobi who explains she might be able to do something but unfortunately there’s a disclaimer about unforeseen event. That funny this is the first time I’m hearing about this. Why wasn’t that explained to me before you got 5k from me. I’m told that now when I’m standing on my subfloor. So pretty much you have me by the balls right? So she calls back says she can do 940 instead of the 1400 so I call corporate they pretty much say the same thing that that’s why they have a disclaimer because it’s unforseen. I understand that the floor needs to be level but is it too hard to explain to me that there could be an extra charge for leveling or something. And that your not saying the floor is in level but worse case scenario you may need to pay anywhere from a couple hundred to possible a couple thousand. So I have a heads up instead of standing on a subfloor now having to come up with more money for a job I thought I paid for already. This is a terrible company and a terrible store they were great before they got 5k from me and now they don’t care. I will never buy anything from this company or store again. This day was suppose to be a happy/exciting day and you have completely ruined it and made it a terrible experience for me.
Customer service non-existent. Went there to pick up some poly-urethane. Went over to lumber and there was nobody around when needed a question answered. Went upfront to see if someone could help and all that person did was say hell get somebody. Went back by where I needed my question answered 15-20 mins go by nobody ever came. Went up to customer service and all they said was they would get manager which was no better gave some lame excuse that didnt have anybody on schedule today for that department and guy who was supposed to be covering area hasnt shown up yet. So guess nobody gets lumber today.
Home depot Joliet you need a millwork department directory phone option. It wasnt helpful getting passed around on the phone. Waste of time and frustrating.I also tried to return some extra brackets bought a while ago and the store in Shorewood would not return the items even though they were new in box.

2022-05-27Love the garden and houseplant center here! Healthy plants and a good variety. But I brought a big bag of clean plant containers back to be recycled per the website, and could locate no one that knew anything about it. There’s even a sign at the store regarding recycles but the employees were unaware how this gets done. That was my only disappointment.

2022-06-13Last time I ever ordered appliances with you.No communication on rescheduling. Day before delivery everything gets pushed back for a microwave 2 months. No communication, I had to contact yous.Delivery date, today. Driver doesnt speak English, driver claims no installation and wanted to leave in driveway, which I have on camera incident in voice :). Nothing installed. Just left in garage, no power cord for stove in which I brought into my house on my own.Contacted them today and now me and my family has to wait until 6/20 for the to come back out. Horrible service. I had my old appliances tossed out day prior so now I have no stove and frigldge for a week. Complete mess, get it together. I will be sharing this feedback on reviews.

2022-04-22Absolutely worst experience here. From the employees right up to the manager. All blew me off. No help at all. I will i never spend a dime at this store again. The customer service lady either doesnt know what shes talking about or flat out lied to me just so she didnt have to do her job. Either way she was rude and obviously didnt want to help. I called Home Depot 800 number and my issue was solved immediately. Never again will i deal with the Joliet store.

2022-04-22When you pay for items at Will Call, be sure you see the items brought up and packaged, with your own eyes, because if you dont, and you trust the staff to do it, you will end up with a major inconvenience like I had today. Very dissatisfied with todays service after spending thousands on materials. DO BETTER!!!

2022-06-08I bought a pressure washer and patio cleaning attachment from this location in May. The very next day the exact same setup was on sale via homedepot.com for $80 less. I went back to the store and attempted to get my receipt adjusted to reflect the $80 savings. The associate at the service desk told me that homedepot.com and the actual brick and mortar stores are two different entities. She said she would try to help me get the savings right then so I didnt have to return my purchase and re order online. She really went the extra mile and spent the better part of 20 minutes trying her best to make it work. When all was said and done, she got it done, and I saved $80 plus tax. I want to commend that associate at the help desk, Holly. She not only went out of her way to help me, but shes an extremely pleasant person who I enjoyed speaking with. If stores had more people like her, shopping would be a lot more enjoyable instead of just a task. Thank you Home Depot Joliet Store and Holly. I truly appreciate the time and effort you took to help me.

2022-04-13I purchased a vanity from a different Home Depot. When I opened it up it the vanity was destroyed and the carpenter that I was paying hourly said that it would not work even after I’m trying for 45 minutes. We went to the original location where they said don’t worry “we have 2 in stock “. After 2 hours of looking for the unit, it was NOT in stock. I was refunded my money for an exchange of goods and selected the exact same vanity. Upon ordering it I was charged an additional $46 which was supposed to be delivered. Instead of waiting I went to the other store location in order to pick up the unit. When I arrived I was refunded the money again, and then charged another additional $39 of sales tax. I now paid taxes 3 times on the same item. And 2 times were for an exchange. How does that make sense???My thanks to Mike for his outstanding service(sarcastically) @HD Joliet as he almost got into a fight with me trying to explain how none of this was costing me additional money after paying taxes for returning an item for the exact same item. He was physically shaking and wouldn’t let me do an exchange. I will never shop @HD again. Menards 11% back for life
