I went there looking for some paint. Had no idea the type I should use. The customer service rep, Jesus, really helped me out, had great customer service, and was warm and friendly. I particularly appreciated how he helped this elderly couple that was in front of me. It was in such a caring nature. He acknowledged me immediately afterwards and took care of my needs.
I spent an hour shopping around for plants so the cashier could tell me I couldnt use my husbands store credit. Even after I showed her my ID with the same last name on there and the same address. Money is money. They need to find a better way to run there refund policies.
I really Like homedepot. But Here at 1908 store .A guy works here he is not a grateful guy. He treat me like nothing.Im just want to let the store know . I paid my materials.So be. Nice with the people go to the store .The costumers paid your salary Jeff .Yes Jeff is His name .
I want to to give this a good rating. The store is always stocked nicely. The problem is anytime I needed customer assistance via pager, no one ever shows up. This happened like 4 time already. Today was the last straw. I was just standing there waiting and waiting. The woman at the register the supposedly paged the garden department ask me if I was able to get the right part. I told her that no one never showed up. There was no acknowledgment after that. She just continued what she was doing.
We never have issues coming here. But today we did not have a good experience with our cashier. Other than the gossiping with her coworker, we were practically invisible as the cashier never acknowledge us. Didnt ask if we found everything ok. The cashier keeps on chatting, drops one of our plants on top of my flowers, doesnt apologize, doesnt bother looking at us or offering us a new plant. Continues the conversation as if nothing happened. We said nothing to simply avoid an argument. Dont hire folks that dont care about how they do their job.
I give this location 1 star due strictly to the customer service. It was a Friday night and I was working on a leak in the plumbing which required me to have to break the concrete. So here I was 8:50 and realized I needed one piece of PVC 45 degree elbow 4 inch. I got to the store at 9:05 while customers were still shopping. I asked the service representative if I can please run in because I’m in a bit if a crunch, my tenants needed the water back on. I showed him the work I was in the process of finishing via picture. He told me he’d ask his manager...Melvin the manager was asked if I can run in for one item and cowardly he told the representative to tell me no. I mean, come on...it wouldnt have had them skip a beat but instead the one most important job they were hired for they completed failed at. I’d highly suggest coaching your store team to understand customer service and help customers, not be so rigid with the rules when great customer service can be had.
I had the pleasure of having Tyrone help me pick out some vinyl tiles and let me know exactly how many boxes I needed.Tyrone took his time and made sure I understood what I was getting and even giving some helpful tips that I was able to utilize.I was very pleased and happy I came to this Home Depot.If you have questions about any tiles, ask for Tyrone, you will not be disappointed.
Was at the home Depot with my husband on Cicero & 73 yesterday looking for some wood sealer for our front porch another associate was helping but then he called Michelle , Michelle was very knowledgeable very helpful Ive never received this much help and ideas like I did yesterday with Michelle !! She is a great assess to that home Depot location !! Thanks again Michelle
Ive shopped here for a number of years (since 1999). A number of changes since 1999...Employees less attentative to their job,, a partially dead plant was rung up on my bill (AFTER telling the clerk I didnt want it). Joshua was called to bring an 80lb bag of charcoal to checkout; he promptly suggested I walk with him( quite a distance)from the garden ctr to the middle of the store (I declined) as that would have required a return walk to checkout and to get to my car. At 69 yrs old that was a bit much so I bought the charcoal next door at Costco instead, they brought it to the ceckout & to the car
I gotta say, home depot has become my favorite store. Most of the employees are courteous and ready to help. I love how they place most of their things on different levels, so I dont have to be asking for help all of the times. As of today, they are having a garden week sale so hopefully you get a chance to go. My overall, experiences have been great and hopefully they continue with great customer service.
I would give Zero stars but this isnt an option. I bought a Bosh oven and was given a repair date only to find out on the repair date that the people they hooked me up with do not even deal with Home Depot for repairs. Well thanks a lot for nothing Home Depot and thanks for ruining my dinner this evening. Now they supposedly have someone coming out next week for repairs. All that money I spent on my oven and its not even 2 years old . My suggestion dont buy from Home Depot they dont care about you after your purchase. Screw you HD Ill go to ABT!!
Worst customer service around. There is no one ever around to help you when you need it and good luck getting someone even if they page someone. I rather go to the one in a little further away in hodgkins cause they have awesome service. Or even Lowe’s down the street. It use to be better
You call ahead and ask if they cut pipe to size and the answer is “yes”. Once going here there’s no one to be found, once you find someone they send you to find someone else, don’t direct you to anyone and walk away. What’s the point of having employees if they just walk around as if they are modeling their yellow vests. Just become cashless like Amazon Go.
Mauricio from paint department is very rude when asked questions and clearly shows he has no will to want to help customers. I noticed this wasn’t just with me but with every other customers he attended while I was waiting in line. If ya’ll want to hire teenagers make sure they fix their little immature attitude before clocking in considering customers spend a good amount of money here.
I DREAD having to go to Home Dept. There are always tons of employees and never anyone when you need help. Today, 3 young male employees just standing in an aisle chit chatting. One didnt even move when they could clearly see we were walking through the aisle, looking for something. RUDE! I only shop here for convenience. I prefer Lowes, anyday.
I have been living in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood for 26 years and have visited HD in Bedford Park, Illinois my entire existence in the area. The staff have always been courteous and very helpful whether I am purchasing batteries, ceiling fans, lamps, a hot water heater, conventional oven etc with my credit card. I went into the store today to purchase the Ring doorbell for my home business. Product not on the shelf which is fine. I went to check out; the cashier takes the paper and leaves the register to get it. I inserted my credit card waiting for the transaction to complete, I was asked to see the front of my card and then asked for my ID. I am upset at this point And thinking this is very odd because in all of the years I have been coming to the store no one has ever asked. I am unable to find my ID. So I asked her how long has this been going on. She says I have been here for six years and they have been asking since then. Why is she lying to my face. I have never been asked to show ID. I am very upset and should have taken my money to another hardware. My transaction was canceled because I was using a different form of payment. Again odd. I have never felt so uncomfortable before in my life. Why was I treated like that? Was I profiled because of how I was dressed? By not allowing me to charge my purchase, did the cashier believe that I could not pay for the item? I used my debit card and I was asked if that was another credit card. Wait what? Really! Business should always put intellectuals up front to represent the establishment.Still upset
As any other Home Depot. The have all for home. I try to get inside the store but the decide to control the number of people getting in. Only one entrance for everybody. As a result a long, long line that from my point if view is more risky to get COVID than if we are allowed to get inside and respect the social distance by ourselves. I didnt wait and went to Menards. Were the have better control if the situation.
Great service....when you can find someoneThis is my go-to spot for home supplies and materials. Always have a great selection, but in those instances where you may have a question or need assistance, good luck. One time it took 40 minutes just to get done blinds sized properly.
I love this place because soon as you walk in you see all the potential of different things you can buy,and the staff is right there to assist you with any questions, and I also noticed they are well stocked with everything . And I mean everything, organization at its fullest
Memorial Day Weekend - Went in to the Ford City location for a Weber Grill and the Weber Grill that I Priced before I got there was Sold Out Except for the display model which had a Scratch on it and Probably Not What I Would have Wanted to Purchase But Thanks To Store Manager - Mr. James McKinney IV - I Got my Weber - An updated Model and At the Price of the Grilp that Was on Display - To me That Was A Real Blessing Blessing Blessing - Great Experience from Mr. Mckinney and the very Nice Young Lady That initially came up to assist Me - Great Representation for You Home Depot - Fird City - Knowledgeable of Products and Services and Putting Smiles on Faces - These are - Thank you Thank you Thank you Young Man and Young Lady
My family and I Went to home depot today to buy a shed for our yard. We asked several sales personnel questions about the product and no one could give us a clear answer, so we asked for a supervisor. Javier, the manager, came along and clarified all of our questions and assisted beyond our expectations. As we were leaving, we came across some nice grills. We’ve been wanting to upgrade ours. The staff assured me that it would not be possible to meet a certain request. After requesting a manager, here comes Javier again. Surprisingly, he accomdated our request. Javier is an exceptional manager! Point, blank, simple. This is definitely our family hardware store for the long run.
Went in looking for a replacement Sayco brand faucet and handles for my tub. I have a VERY dated bathroom and had done a little research online before going in but still had questions. One of the workers must have seen the look on my face and he immediately asked how he could help me. And he was very helpful. I left feeling confident that I would be able to make the changes to my tub myself... well see.
This place is awesome at customer service. I went to several different home depots, where one was local to me and the others all out of state. Lowes should go study these guys, they do it right, where as Lowe is the complete opposite. Its easy to get help as personal arent hiding and are in plain sight. And even if they cant help, they are friendly enough to find the person to help you. Stay away from lowes, do yourself a favor and get your home, etc needs met here.
Great place, for any supplies. Very convenient location, super friendly staff. Was greeted as soon as I came in, 5 minutes later i did looked a little bit lost looking for an item but was immediately helped by one of the staff members and she was able to find the items I was looking for.
Came here on Thursday 8/9/18 to purchase wire. I had 3 different people page the guy who cuts wire and waited over half hour. The employee finally came over and this is what he said, “My bad, I was just in the back. I didn’t hear someone page me” didn’t apologize and didn’t seem to care. This is unacceptable!Terrible customer service!
I have been waiting for associate for more than 20 mints,i went at front and ask for help they made the call but still waiting....Bounch of associate passed by and no one helping or ask... This is so annoying... They dont deserve not even one start it should 5 less start....
Very friendly staff ! But the delivery & and answering team unprofessional! Understanding that due to COVID delivery’s have been delayed . They changed my deliver once day Off & I said ok & I call they did not give me a time frame for next delivery day they just today . unprofessional no fridge for about a month .
Took my kids to make ornaments for kids workshop event it was 10:30am and they were out of the crafting items. really!?! 😂 Event was for like 9-12pmThe women sitting there were really rude unhappy to be there. We left and went to another home depot near by wayy better serve ladies were happy smiling and it was 11:30am and still had a lot of crafting items.Dont waste your time going to this home depotService no bueno!!
Lazy manager, whose name I will investigate and write down here in an update. He refused to cut a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood to specified measures saying that it cant be done when in another home depot I had no problem with my requested measurements. Only reason I came to this one was because at the time, the other home depots machine was not operational.
Laziest workers!When asking for where something was, the response was not my department!I literally had to call the store to get someone who worked there to help us.One worker Leslie was the laziest!She would claim to call someone to help.And actually laughed when I said no one showed up.
I placed a $2500 order on line , I received an email confirming that my order was ready for pick-up, I go to pick it up and they tell me that they cant find it and that they would call me once they find it, its been 3 days and nobody can give me an answer so far its been 3 weeks since I placed my order
I have to rate them one star only because I loathe their outside delivery service that’s the worst ever when the delivery guys damage your items or sit your materials outside when it’s raining 🌧 I seriously think they should make some adjustments to their delivery policy
Im a general contractor I remodel houses been doing it for a couple of years now .. Im at home depot stores all over chicago everyday and honestly I have to say that the bedford park one is the worst one .... I have never seen such poor service everyone is slow they dont know what they are talking about half of the time and when your looking for some help they will keep sending you off to another person .... the carts are all over the parking lot scratching peoples car and not inside the store where they belong . If I would have to rate this place I would give it a negative 7
TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT! !! I WILL NOT EVER SHOP THERE AGAIN!!!! I PURCHASED A $1200 DOLLAR WASHER AND DRYER SET WHICH WAS DELIVERED & INSTALLED INCORRECTLY BY THEIR INCOMPETENT CONTRACTORS. I CALLED & SPOKE WITH A MANAGER NAME MICHELLE, IF THATS HER CORRECT NAME, WHO KEPT PUTTING ME ON HOLD IN THE MIDDLE OF ME SPEAKING. SHE FINALLY CAME BACK TO THE PHONE AND TOLD ME TO CALL THE WAREHOUSE & TELL THEM MYSELF, AFTER CALLING ME RUDE. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!

2022-01-06Be careful when you shop at Home Depot in Bedford Park, They are now becoming famous for Taking used and abused products and putting them in circulation and selling them as new! This item cost me 141.90. They did a great job taping up the box making it look like new. Once I unboxed it I was shocked at what I saw. It almost looks like Home Depot is trying to scam people.

2022-07-01Home Depot Paint Department has a very smart and creative young lady name Ashleigh or Ashley. Don’t remember the spelling of her name but she was very helpful in helping me change the color of the paint I originally purchased a few days ago. I took the paint back to the Bedford Park Home Depot Store on 6/30/22 to see if the color can be changed. Ashleigh didn’t think she can do it due to she only had 2 months with the company. She compared the ingredients with the color I had to the color I wanted and mixed it all up and got the perfect color I wanted. Thank you Ashleigh for your expertise and also you saved me money cause I was gonna buy another can of white paint to get the color I wanted. Ashleigh is the best in the paint department!👏🏼❤️👏🏼❤️

2022-05-17I waited over 25 mins for Customer Assistance for an item that was not in display but, the App stated there was 55 in stock. Flagged down 2 separate Associates for help and help never arrived. Called on the Manager on Duty .. Miguel. He was very professional and apologetic. Assured that the item was restocked in the aisle and placed on a cart for me and extended a discount for my troubles. I commend Miguel for turning a bad experience into a good experience. Your organization needs more Leaders like Miguel. 👍

2022-06-20Out of all the times I went to homed spot and rented tools out with my state i.d and my debit card this was the first time they decline my debit card saying that they require a credit card Im 24 trying to built my credit and I dont have credit at the moment . Ive been going to home Depot specially this oneb ecause this one is my favorite store to go to . And I go in and they tell me I cant rent a tool with out a credit card when I always used my debit card ! I so upset I wasted a lot of money at home for my job and I cant rent out a tool with my debit card ! So bad for the people that are trying to built there credit for the youngs one and work in contractions or etc and cant rent a tool because there require a credit cardthis is like them jobs that require 35 years of experience and u just 30 like what? This makes no sense ! Worst experience!

2022-06-16Tons of associates working to help you but no one seemed to really know where anything was but they were mostly able to send us in the right direction... prices are a little higher than Menard but didnt feel like the extra drive with gas prices so it probably broke even

2022-02-25Thank you Barb for helping me in electrical. The first person really did not help at all. I knew more information about where things was in the store then he did. The electrical management needs to count items once a week at least four. Go back for management training.

2022-01-25They do have everything you need to fix anything in your house. But if you need help with finding something or a question about what you need theres never anyone around to ask. You have to walk around looking for someone to help you. I need to buy a new dryer but I was told that if you were unhappy with the way it works you cant get a refund! Only if its defective but what if doesnt really get hot enough you wouldnt know till you tried it.

2022-06-16Only go to this one on rare occasions. Everything is locked down because they are so close to Chicago. With that comes theft and other crime and less than desirable clientele. Its really too bad.
