So happy to have become acquainted with this hidden gem! Unassuming being nestled in the Sunset shopping center, the salon is a treat to walk into, and the staff was all very friendly. Elizabeth was a pleasure, listened to what I was looking for, and gave me a very detailed and thorough haircut! Very impressed. After trying numerous salons, I’ve found my spot!

The staff is amazing the quality of product is really good it’s by far one of the best one I’ve ever gone they are all professional, friendly, and it’s good prices definitely will keep as my hairstylist.

I needed a haircut and style. I usually go to a few different salons in the Vernon Hills area. This particular day I didn’t feel like driving from Lake Forest. I used to go to a place in Lake Forest called The Beauty Spot many years ago. I forgot about and went on line. I made an appt on line. That is a great time saving feature. It has since moved to a much better location with lots of parking on Waukegan near Sunset Foods in Lake Forest. I walked in and to my surprise it felt as if I had just walked into a really high end city salon. It’s very airy like a warehouse and open. I noticed too how clean the floors were too. I had a 2 minute wait which is nothing. I had my haircut done by the new owner! She was remarkable! Elizabeth I think is her name. ( I’m awful with names not faces). It was one of the best styles I’ve had in my life. No joke! I will be going back to utilize many other services. A pedicure. Yes of course I’m serious. They offer massages and it’s the same masseuse who was at the prior location. She’s a strong Russian woman who knows what she’s doing. I’m so happy that I discovered the Beauty Spot. Went for the first time a couple of weeks ago for a facial. Their esthetician, Margaret, did my facial. It was great. She was very gentle, yet thorough, and had great pointers on skin care. Looking forward to going again!

I hope everyone else has better luck at this salon than I had. The only good thing I have to say is that my manicure looked great and lasted almost 5 days. This is a letter I just wrote to the Beauty Spot in Lake Forest, IL:Hello Beauty Spot,I visited your salon on July 6th 2012 to get a pedicure and manicure. The salon was recommended by a friend and receives good reviews online, so I was excited for a relaxing afternoon. My technician was Alice. While she wasnt unfriendly, she hardly talked to me at all, even though I told her it was my first ever mani-pedi. When she wanted me to move, she would poke me instead of telling me to move. I signed up for the hydrotherapy pedicure, and there was absolutely no massage included even though it says there is one on the website. I was looking forward to that the most :(.After my pedicure, I had my manicure. Alice put me under the UV light and told me It is all automatic so just let it do its job. I sat under the light for 20 minutes before I felt something was really wrong. I told a nearby stylist how long I had been sitting there, and she was horrified, saying Youre only supposed to be there for 5 minutes. Im pretty sure Alice failed to put the machine on the automatic setting. Looking at my hands now, I can see that they are a darker color, and looks more wrinkled. I better not get skin cancer! THEN, after I got back to my hotel from the whole experience, my pedicure was already smudged!! I couldnt believe it. I called to get it fixed. Alice had left for the day but they got me in with someone else. Because of this, I had to miss the wedding rehearsal I was planning to be at. After my polish fix, I waited in a chair for over an hour before leaving the salon, and my polish still didnt last past a day! Biggest waste of time and money of my life, and I wish I had not left Alice a tip.I am not sure theres anything that can be done at this point, especially since I dont even live in Illinois. I just want someone to warn Alice that she needs to be more careful about leaving her clients under the UV light for so long, dont skip the massage, and be a little bit more friendly!Thanks!
