Target in other cities:
2/2021 First time in this store. Like other targets, but MUCH smaller. Some grocery items, some clothes. Good for a down town area, but missing a lot of things if you need the big selections. Thought the prices were slightly higher on some things too. Possibly for being down town. Staff was ok, not outstanding, but ok. Place was clean and sanitary. Direct access from the parking garage was a plus as it was snowing. All in all, I would shop here again if I am ever in downtown Evanston again.
The store is on the ground level of my apartment building: convenience. Its a clean, well-stocked store. Because were in a college town the store seems to cater to students in their merchandise selection, which is understandable. Plus, the size of the store--being in the center of the downtown--means they must be selective in what merchandise they sell. All-in-all, this store hits the mark.
The staff here is exceptional. They are friendly knowledgeable and energetic. The store is clean bright and organized. The grocery section is fresh but alittle pricey. They offer both self and staff assisted checkout. The managers will order a product if it is not currently in stock. Great hours for all people. Attend !!!
This is a mostly clean and well stocked store. However, there are pan handlers and scammers constantly hanging out by the front entrance. They hassle folks passing by the store and those going in and out. Ive witnessed these individuals harrassing passing females as well as occasionally fighting between each other, probably for turf.Clean it up Target! This is unacceptable.
No Safe distance in store. No control and people working there do not care. Guests without Mask were in the store. At checkout stickers for the respect of the Safe distance are present but distance Is not respected. Cashier do not care and work as before Covid-19. In summary not a Safe store.
My daughter and I went there to browse. She was immediately attracted to the toy section, although a traditional target has way more toys to play with. Theres a pretty good food section and a cheap section when you first enter the store. The self-checkout registers are a breath of fresh air.
The Target in downtown Evanston is a small one, merchandise is geared towards the Northwestern dorm kids. It is good for a quick grocery stop on my way home from work. Staff is friendly and always helpful. Only real complaint is every time I buy wine there, there is NEVER anyone over 21 at the cash registers.
Target is sure become popular to shop at and past several years. Its kind of like theyre the new hip store to shop at. They have a lot of things that people want and basically I dont mind shopping at Target. Although sometimes a few other items are a little bit higher price but I can live with shopping at the Target Express.
The Selections!I visited TARGET today, just because I happened to be in the area.I ended up finding a Non-Stick Skillet at a GREAT price! When I eagerly went to the Checkout, a Store Associate politely directed me to a recently open Self-Service Checkout Station.TARGET ROCKS!!!
Just so you know. The prices in the store are not the same as those online (e.g., 3 bucks batteries are charged 7 in store). Order pickups can take forever because staff often have no idea which cabinet they put your orders in. And if you find a defect, you have to take it back, wait for 24 hours before coming back again for a return.
Right at heart of Evanston, this rating purely belongs to the convenience of location. One stop shop for almost everything! Although fresh grocery is limited, they are in a process of increasing that too. I was delighted when I could but some authentic Chicago souvenir without having to drive to Chicago!I keep in hearing that this is way smaller than usual Target stores, but it serves the purpose of having affordable and good quality stuff for Evanston people.
Targets marketing team knows what items to stock for a local Evanston location. Its good to have certain groceries and home cleaning supplies in reach, when CVS, whole foods, or trader Joes is too far from Davis/Sherman audience...They could definitely install more in-person and automated cashiers lanes. They are very backed up, and their hardworking team could use an extra 1-2 lanes of checkouts.
Overall the store is good it does have a lot of basic items. Its a smaller Target Express. They dont have a lot of big appliances or a huge selection of everything. Its a store in downtown Evanston. It has kind of a general selection of a variety of goods. It has groceries. They have some clothes and houseware items. They have video games and small electronic items. They have other items. They dont have laptop computers or TVs or anything like that. You can order online and they will have the items shipped to that store for you. But for a nice convenience store downtown Evanston, you cant beat it. Its great if you go to Northwestern University or if you live in the Evanston. Yes good for quick shopping trip. Im glad the store is there.
If you are looking to work for Target {Specifically this location} DONT the management is very poor. I had an interview in a room with two other employees who were on break using the computer. The manager didn’t let me finish my thoughts at times before cutting me off and moving to the next question. The other employees would be joking and in the middle of me talking he would laugh then say “im sorry you were saying?” His name is Demir. He was very rude to me. So if you apply to this store and hes your interviewer Good luck.Overall I will say it was a very clean well organized store. But if looking for a job with Target Try the Division and Larabee location
I apologize in advance for this review containing grammatical errors, as well, as other mistakes in the review. I wanted to cover this particulare location, as I actually live nearby, and have a significant pinion on the matter. But I did do this kind of quickly…So, This is the only Target location that I gave lower than 4 stars. It just does not feel like it belongs on that old school block/small-town-vibe of a strip-block. I was not even a fan when it used to be a North face on that exact corner (I believe), but North face did a good job of keeping it within the confines of the small town vibe criteria (obviously subjective) that I personally have. If you were walking down this block, you would almost get a small feel, like the one you might get while youre at old orchard shopping center. Not the same, buddy similar vibe. This is an important point that I make, which others may disagree with. Obviously they have that right, and I hope they utilize it for others to see ( it would be nice for others to see The other side). Anyway, I make MY point, because I do compare that block to a very classy strip mall. It even has a . Anyone who has been on it, knows that it is a one way street, with a lot of space to park, walk around, and enjoy the area. Its filled with ice cream shops and pizza parlors, And multiple spots to get a hair cut (Old school Barber Shop, a Floyd99s, and a salon), and there used to be a Jamba Juice, which was replaced with another form of juice a like store.. Like north face had accomplished, the Gap, up the block, does as well.Target does try to cram a lot of their products, that you would find elsewhere at other target locations, in a small space. Compared to its other locations. Some might find that refreshing, as they will find everything, while others might say that it does not belong in that location, and should at least have a given the shoppers space, for that comfortable, relaxing shopping experience, that you look for on that particulare strip of a block area, even if It compromises how many items they are unable to carry, if it gave the extra space...Im referring to the Evanston location, to anyone who does not know… It should be showing the actual location, but somebody mentioned to me, from a different post that I made, and that the location was not automatically brought up. So I throw it out there to those who are not aware of which location Im referring to.Peace to all, and happy holidays!

2022-05-11Convenient downtown location, small yet smartly stocked and very clean. No 5th star because while most employees on selling floor were steadily working, the younger register personnel ignored customers that needed assistance - too busy chatting.

2022-01-25Location is favorite for aggressive panhandlers who have piles of their junk right next to the front door. Scary place that is best to stay away from. Go to store on west Howard.

2021-12-13Best target Ive been to in the entire Chicagoland area! It is super clean and the staff is insanely friendly and helpful! From the greeter at the door to the checkout clerk! Absolutely fantastic!

2021-11-13A little smaller than most Targets I have seen, but still with a lot of variety. Staff is friendly and the store is clean and organized. If you are on a budget, the store brand/cheaper items tend to sell out quite fast (and basically a third to half of the things for sale are store brands). And once those sell out, the brand names sell out next. After months of shopping here I dont think I can say that Ive ever cleared off my shopping list in a single trip to this Target. Usually one or two items are entirely out of stock so I have to check again next time, or the time after that. Still, the prices are competitive enough to keep me coming back, the produce is good quality for the price, and its quite convenient to come to one place to pick up basically all the groceries and everything else I need.

2022-01-28Great small format store.I see people giving 1* because there are panhandlers outside 🙄. I thought the rating thing was for the Target, not the neighborhood!

2021-07-22The employees are absolutely First-Class ! Bianca, and Devon have always been terrific workers, and such helpful, and kind people during this seemingly endless pandemic ! I always enjoying seeing them, although I dont ever want to bother them. Vanessa is friendly too, and is such an energetic worker. The music is uplifting, and I always seem to find what I am looking for. No wonder my sisters love Target ! I like the Evanston Target by far the best because the staff is fun to talk to, and because it is within walking distance of where I live. I also think that Meli, and Carlos are doing an exemplary job at security, too. I am sure that it is sadly not an easy job. I know Kellie is a manager, and, aside from being a good person, she is really First-Class, too ! Mainly, I appreciate everyone here at the Evanston store. I am not important, or special in any way, but I appreciate the kindness, and help I am given.

2021-12-15It is a multipurpose store. But prices are high for some of the products. Options are less. Overall it is a good store.
