Positive: The ice machine worked. Negative: Checked in Friday 4pm for a room with 2 beds, didn¿t go into room until 10pm. Room was not made, front desk worker said no double rooms left. Desk worker called the manager, manager said they would only be willing to give us a single room. Not good.
Positive: Staff were very nice. Room was ,modern and clean. Air Conditioner was very effective yet I prefer ACs that will continually run even if the temp detector isnt running. These models turn off when desired temp is reached. Negative: Mattress was a bit uncomfortable but no hugely. Water pressure in shower was very weak. Over all loved the property, I was pleasantly surprised and will return.
So I have nowhere permanent to live. I’ve been staying here until I can find a more consistent place to stay. I pay my room every night. I’m not a problem to anyone. The other day I paid my room like I normally do and for some reason the person at the front desk cancels or reverses the transaction. Now it’s Labor Day weekend and the money won’t be back to me until after the holidays. Now what am I supposed to do? Who do I talk to? I have my receipts and all my transactions. I don’t think it’s fair I should have to sleep outside because someone at the front desk wasn’t trained properly.
At first they didn’t have my family’s reservation, so I had to rebook there. Then I was given room keys to a room that didn’t exist. It was advertised to have a king size bed and a pull out couch. When that wasn’t the room we walked into, we checked with the front desk and they told us that they didn’t have any couches. We were then moved into a different room to accommodate my family’s size and one of the bed sets had dark spots on the comforter and sweat stains on the pillows. I will not be booking there again.
ZERO STARS if possible but since thats not an option I have to click one! We didnt even get to stay bc we booked through hotels.com & somehow whoever was at the front desk did NOT reserve our room! The guy at the counter was beyond rude & could care less that at 11pm at night we didnt have the room we booked. Also, we paid several hrs earlier when we booked & then when we got there to check in he swiped my husbands card FIRST for the deposit and then AFTER tells us they dont have that room! Would not move us to a room we could actually use without wanting to charge us the difference in the room rate which is absurd bc they should accommodate for their mistake! We stood there waiting for several minutes bc he was clicking on his computer so we thought he was trying to help & finally asked if he was able to figure anything out & his response was No, I told you I dont have a room for you so he had us just standing there thinking he was trying to figure something out when really he was ignoring & hoping we would leave! He kept saying we were interrupting him bc he were trying to explain that he should make an accomdation but he kept saying the same thing OVER & OVER so yes we were ticked & not very polite anymore bc he sure did NOT care to listen to us! Also, we were told we wouldnt get a refund but thankfully I called hotels.com who were BTW VERY HELPFUL & POLITE & they called the rank motel while we were still there being treated like garbage & they DID get the refund for us & covered price difference to stay in a much nicer hotel nearby... now thats customer service & Super 8 could learn a thing or 2 from them! Do NOT waste your time on this dump! Do yourselves a favor spend a few extra bucks to stay at the Comfort Inn next door which is very nice, clean, had the most comfortable bed, & amazing customer service!
Once I entered room I noticed bathroom hadnt been cleaned, no toilet paper. Found band aid on floor next to trash can. Room had an unpleasant smell. I told front desk room wasnt satisfactory and I wasnt stay there, they wouldnt refund my money or offer another room. Management has failed to respond to phone calls or emails.
I asked for a non-smoking room, which I got, and the room did not smell like smoke, but when I went to bed I discovered that the blankets stank of smoke. Surely if they were washed between guests they wouldnt - unless staff smoke in the laundry rooms. Also there were kids loudly running up and down the halls at 10:30 PM, and in the process of moving in their parents slammed the door every time they came in or out on trips to and from their car. Some crazy couple was fighting and slamming doors across the hall from me, and standing in the hall in front of my door arguing at 1:30 AM. I called the front desk about 4 or 5 times, they were always polite and responsive and it seemed there had been plenty of other complaints already, and the desk staff said several times he was on his way to talk to them. It finally did quiet down about 2:30 AM.
Positive: antiquated room, short on towels, appearing clean then next morning, small ants were found roaming the sheets of my bed. Hot tub covered in wood. Request for more towels in vain. Advertised free breakfast but still using covid for excuse. Negative: Short on staff, Hats off to Heather from check in, found to be cleaning a room missed by housecleaning going beyond her duties. Also, CNN spews mis information 24/7 in the lobby
The night manager who checked us in was polite and helpful. The air conditioner worked. The hallways to the rooms smelled terrible, most likely cigarette smoke. There were full garbage bags left in the hallway and were still there when we checked out. The bath towels had large stains on them. The breakfast was only yogurt, oatmeal, granola bars and coffee due to the IL Health Department and COVID.
The whole place smells like cigarette smoke and sketchy people everywhere. We booked 2 rooms, both were obviously smoke. cleaned and still had trash laying around from the last occupants. All three beds had dirty sheets and pillow cases and both rooms did not have soap or towels. The woman working at the front desk in the morning was the most unprofessional person Ive ever encountered in the hospitality industry. Worst place to stay in the Midwest.
Black hairs all over mattress, no sheets, or enough pillows, dead bugs in shower and no towels. Went to request towels and we were told they didn’t have any. Told them about the missing sheets and pillow and was told they were in wash. Requested refund and was denied.
The bed bugs are unbearable, this will be night number two that I will be sitting in the office chair that came with my room and sleeping. The bugs are so bad that Im thinking about going to the e.r. and getting checked out. This is my second week here and not one time has my room been cleaned or toilet paper been givin. Absolutely the worst Super 8 that I have ever been in. DISGUSTING
The room was clean, the fridge chilled our sodas in no time and this was my third stay ......the first two I have no complaints about .....my most recent stay Jan 29 to Jan 30 2022 I will say the room was clean and once we got the heater going warm.......but the mattress in 227 needs to be replaced ...... my husband and I both woke up with aches and pains we didnt go to sleep with .....other than that the location is great and the staff have always been friendly.
I thank God for this motel Ive been coming here and here only for years now well since 2018 its 18 that I discovered you guys. Everybody is so nice place is so clean so clean the price is wonderful its just a really nice place to stay and I really enjoy it honestly I could live there I think I would love it
The rooms were nice and clean. Front desk staff as well as housekeeping were very friendly. They were very knowledgeable with the area and made great recommendations. My husband and I stayed 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. We are planning on coming back in the next few months, this is our place to stay, love the idea being pet friendly. Thank you Super 8 and the staff.
Bath tub small and not clean, blankets were uncomfortable, ac worked half the time and probably one of the worst Ive ever stayed at. Paper said $10 for pet under 15lbs but manager didnt update paperwork per person checked us in and charged us $25 so basically the paper signed is a lie and false advertising due to apparently a lazy manager. Was to late to try to find a different place and was already charged anyway so had no choice but to stay. Nobody should waste the time going to this hotel.
Everything is old, old, old. One bed had a bedspread that looked like it was from the 70s, the other bed had NO bedspread! Only two bath towels and three wash clothes in a room with two queen beds. No hand towels at all. One bath towel had big stains on it. Sheets had stains.
The room was comfortable & clean. I enjoyed the desk personal, whom were courteous, kind & very helpful. I was extremely late the 1st day & wasnt aware that housekeeping needed to check the room daily & was intruded on during a late sleep in, so couldnt give a 5. This is a 🚬 room hotel, & nicely priced.
I really wanted to like this place and give it a higher rating. The bed was lovely, the breakfast was brilliant, the room was spacious and the price was very reasonable. Unfortunately the bathroom was disgusting. Sink cracked and dirty, bath was stained black, shower head was mouldy, shower curtain has seen better days. I was genuinely worried Id come out dirtier than I got in. If the bathroom was updated Id give it 5 stars.
If you have any standards this is not a place to stay. I got a room for my daughter that was in town to play ball for the weekend. When she checked in Megan gave her a room that had not even been cleaned, bed was not made, ashes from cigarettes were in the tub and counter in the bathroom and smelled of smoke. It was a horrible mess from the front desk to the room. A room that would be rented for the hour. No customers service experience at all from any one at that front desk. My daughter was gone within 30 minutes. I then followed up and was told lies. The manager Joe was never available to talk to. After disputing this with the third party they took it and were given lies about how we enjoyed our stay. This was a lie from the front desk, and Joe was never available to speak with them too.
We had an amazing stay here!! Check in was fast and easy. The only issue that came up was when we first arrived. My daughter being a typical kid went through the drawers, and found food left behind by previous customers. I called the front desk and she came immediately and was offended that the food was left. The rest of the weekend was amazing even with a group of BMXers and workers all keeping the staff busy!!! I well definitely stay here again if Im in the area!!
I had a very poor experience at this hotel with both bedbugs and management.After checking in, I discovered upon pulling back the bedsheets that my room had bedbugs. My friend (who had in the past spent several years in the bedbug extermination business) confirmed the critters were indeed, bedbugs. I placed one of the bedbugs in a secure container and brought it to the front desk as evidence and requested a refund so I could find alternate accommodations.I was given the phone number of manager Joe Armstrong, who refused to give me a refund and would eventually accuse me of bringing the bedbugs into the hotel, claiming that, “My hotel doesn’t have bedbugs, my guests do”. I was also told that he confirmed that my insect evidence was a bedbug, but that he could tell, “It hadn’t fed yet” which, apparently disqualified my claim.I had never seen a bedbug before my brief interaction with this hotel. If you’d like to avoid them as well, I’d recommend the new Hyatt in town instead of the Super 8.
Room was on ground floor, its winter and during a snow storm. The uncarpeted part of the floor was like walking on ice even with shoes on. The room was also super cold. Hard to take a shower with room and floor freezing. A ton of hair under the tubs drain plug and no cream rince for hair was offered, just shampoo. The room and bedding were clean and the bed spread was enough to warm you up. But the room its self never warmed up by time I left 8 hours later. Im a local and I work outside all I wanted was a safe warm place to spend the night after my shift until the roads were passable. I received the safe part, gentleman working lobby very nice (Midnight hour) and the room was clean. But as for warmth, I had none. And taking the hot shower just made the room colder.
After a 3 day drive came in at 2:30 to see if i could check in. I was told that due to an event being held nearby, I had to come back at 3:30 pm. I arrived back at 4:15pm and was told the room was still not ready. They were able to switch me to a different room that was ready. When I entered the room there was still food along the side of the bed on the floor. There was only 1 towel in the towel rack and the shower curtain was moldy. There was also food still left in the refrigerator that had not been cleaned out. On a positive note the front desk kept in constant contact to make sure everything was corrected.
Checked in, no towels, no sheets or pillow cases on bed. Person at desk wouldnt put us in another room or tell us when they could make the room up. This after making reservations weeks in advance and an 8 HR drive. After talking with manager the room was made up about an hour later. Breakfast was terrible. Smelled like people were smoking in rooms.
Nasty dont stay here/ after checking in I had to clean the sink counter and toilet myself. Shower was dirty as well. Put things back where they belong several outlets didnt work so I spent time replugging things so I could plug in the alarm clock, phone chargers etc. They claimed the bed was a queen size it was actually a full size. They had a chair crammed in this room which was in the way also the desk chair. I moved things around just so we could actually walk through. The lady which checked us in at night was very nice however the lady in the morning was very rude. We were booked for 2 nights unfortunately so after the second night we got up left early and switched hotels.
When we got checked in we immediately noticed a fish cracker on the center of the floor. We then started looking around for more dirt and found some hairs in the sink. The front desk clerk came to the room and wiped up and vacuumed the room. We couldn’t move into another room bc they were totally booked up. They gave the excuse that their maid quit that day. Then we looked more closely and noticed splatters on the bathroom door and a dead bug on the floor and crumbs in the bed.
Well... We got our room online. We checked in. Check in was normal. We got to our room and someone was in it. So we went back down and told them. Got another room. Went back up to our new room and guess what. Someone was in that room as well. So we go back down and check into our 3rd room. It was empty. 3rd time was the charm I guess but I refused to leave my stuff in the room. Seems how we walked into 2 other peoples rooms and who knows if the next person who that might happen to is as honest as us. Will not be going back.
Pet friendly - NOT! Supr 8 website says small/medium dogs $6 and large dogs $10. You can imagine my surprise when I am charged $50 for 2 nights. I complained that their website policy said $6/10 and our 34 pound senior Spitz was a medium sized dog. They consider anything over 25 large. We were surprised when we got a call from that evening clerk. She had taken the time to check the website and contact the manager, and was authorized to honor the $10/night. At checkout I asked for my statement and was told the computer was down. I said I wanted to be sure the $50 pet fee had been returned and was told by the day clerk the fee was absolutely $50. Pending charges to my credit card are now totaling $260 for a 2 night stay at a nearly empty Super 8. The motel was newly repainted and clean. The room was good sized, but the toilet/shower area was tiny. They had a shower curtain rod that bowed out which was not secured properly and hung down. I bumped my head trying to turn around and close the door it was that small. The bars of soap were the smallest I have ever seen in a motel; the size of a 5 stick pack of gum. I dont like big pillows, I like thinner ones, but these were so thin I had to sleep with the pillow shoved against the headboard to make it thick enough. I would have folded it over, but they were not the standard width either. The room was warm so I opened the window and found it had no screen. We were furnished with one clean washcloth and one dirty one wadded up in the sink, 1 small hand towel, 2 bath towels, and bath mat. Everything seemed to be the absolute minimum needed to be furnished. They emailed me my statement last night as a pdf. Now I need to figure out why my phone wont open it. :-(.
Dirty, smelly, scam. Dont go here if you dont want to be robbed by the people who own the place. I have a temporary hair color that runs and gets on towels, but always washes out, I deal with it on a weekly basis. They wanted to charge me damages for pink on a towel and pillowcase they supposedly couldnt get out. Their already stained old, run down towels. They wanted me to pay $25 for something that will wash out. The water that came out of the faucet was horrifying! There were bugs in the hallways and their super start breakfast was awful. It also smells like cigarettes throughout the hotel If you stay in the area, stay at the comfort inn across the street. They wont take advantage of you or charge you to wash a towel. They also have a badass breakfast and its super clean! Its worth the extra few dollars to stay there instead. The ONLY nice thing about this hotel was the caucasian lady who checked us in and out. She was super friendly.
Very discusting!! The comforter and linens had numerous stains. The fitted sheet was inside out. Used towel still hanging in bathroom. Found BUGS in the bath tub!!!! The bed was horrible and I have found better quality blankets at good will. This room isnt worth more than $30 a night...if that. Fridge leaked. Dont believe the online pictures. Whole building smelled.
For the stay on June 27, 2019, I explained to them I needed non-smoking b/c Im allergic. I requested early check-in which got denied b/c they said it needed cleaned. Upon arrival, the whole upstairs reeked of old smelling smoke then in my room we found a cigarette as well as somebodys dirty socks. My allergies were flared up sneezing and sniffling all night from the smoke. I requested a partial refund from the manager Joe, which got denied b/c they are privately owned and I had no drs note. Then he had the audacity to hang up on me. He never once apologized and instead fixated that I said the f word 🙄 who wouldnt after experiencing that following a 12 hour drive to get there. Absolutely worst treatment I ever experienced. Will never stay at a super 8 again.
Room itself was nice. Bathroom need renovations. Shower head loose and moldy, fan was blowing air inside with funny smell. Breakfast only till 9am, all other place are 10am. Cant sleep in if u want breakfast. Good thing very nice restaurant next door with great food and service
Booked a room through priceline because of an issue with our rental house [relocation reps] it was in the evening we were tired. When we got there the refrigerator did not work and there where Doritos all over the floor. We did get a new room, however when I checked my bank account I noticed that the hotel had charged us for the room again. I hope they can fix this problem soon. We have never had this problem with the super 8 in Jacksonville Illinois it is always clean and they do not double dip.
I have been sending my employee here for the last three months, staying 2-4 nights each time. Every stay she has been with her puppy. I am highly disappointed with the staff and manager to find out on a second night of her stay the staff apparently did not hear her say pet room, and was charged a 100 dollar fee. She was there the night before. When I called to speak with the manager she was rude and relentless. Not that this was by any means the nicest hotel, but we will be taking our business else where. Im sorry to the owner who will no longer have our long term business.
I love it at this super 8 hotel! You can not beat the price! Every time I come to Illinois I come and stay at this hotel. The staff are very polite and friendly! I also love the rooms at this hotel! When I left this morning around 9am and when I returned around 10am my bed and room was already clean before I got back. Other hotels cant compete with this hotel, I just love the respect and customer service I get here!
Really dingy and smelly place. The frontdesk suggested that this hotel is smoke free but it reeks smoke smell. Carpets needs to be changed, rust everywhere, uncomfortable bed, I couldnt say one good thing about this place. And their system got hacked, so they had police car and angry people at the lobby. Yikes... its cheap and I guess you get what you pay for.
Would not grant a 12 oclock checkout despite the fact that Wyndham rewards diamond status members are supposed to be entitled to it. Either honor the program or stop falsely advertising it.Also, there was literally only one bath towel in the room. Even the worst motel puts at least two bath towels in each room. Lastly the rooms are tiny, barely enough space for the queen size bed. On the positive side, the mattress was firm and the wifi worked fine.
Stayed here for several weeks during Summer 2016, very clean room and friendly staff. Service here was great. Manager who worked there(forgot her name) was very helpful whenever I had to change my reservations. WiFi worked without any interruptions, would definitely recommend this place!

WARNING!!!!! ROACHES!!!!! What an inconvenience nothing from that room was coming into my house and my compensation was a crappy $25. I will never stay there again even though we have stayed there in the past and had no problems. Get it together. You would have thought the owner would have called and at least apologized. I had to give it one star only because it wouldn’t let me post without doing so. In response to you it was 830 at night and I wasn’t going to pack up my family and try to find another place to stay. Give me a break
If your in the Nuclear Outage business or just traveling with the family, this is a great location with great prices. Smack in the middle of 2 walmarts and a Sams club. A slew of restaurants and right next door to a gas station and family restaurant. Definitely a great bargain with nice rooms.
My son was running an ultra marathon and this was the closest place he checked in earlier than me and found bed bugs in his room and was given a refund we tried to check in later skeptically and the room was not cleaned I asked for a refund but was not granted by Joe the managerI still left in disgust I will dispute the payment

2022-08-04Good for an Overnight Stay. The bed was firm and comfortable, the shower was Hot, the room esthetically was appealing. The hallways had a bad odour, the continental breakfast was insufficient so dont count on that, but there is a really good diner just beside this location. The staff was adequate but far from friendly, I asked about ice maker and was told its not working. The staff seemed more involved on their computer screen to look up as I talked to them and I even said thanks for your help but still no response back. The rooms definitely need to have new sinks and bath tubs, the years have past since the last renovation for sure.I would use this place again, but only for an Overnight.

2022-07-12The whole place smelled like an ashtray. There were no towels or wash cloths in bathroom and had to ask front desk for some. No coffee, sugar, creamer and no soap or shampoo. There were only 3 very old ragged small twin sized pillows for the king size bed. It was a pretty uncomfortable stay but I guess you get what you pay for as it was a very cheap room.

2022-06-05The Room smells like cigarettes! Top cover have stains and the bathroom door has a hole! This carpet feels dirty which they should’ve been taken up! If you not going to clean it on a regular. We only staying one night. This will be the last. They have breakfast but we’re not going to stay to find out. So can’t give a review on that.

2022-03-26Absolutely awfulthis place is very low class, and yes i know it’s not the best hotel, but somethings in any hotel SHOULD NEVER be an issue.this place was not accommodating for my disability’s, so here we go on that•tube was on a tilt so when i sat down in my shower chair i literally fell out of the tub.• the toilet seat wasn’t stable at all•toilet was literally cemented in sideways•shower water was DISGUSTING it smelled like rotten eggs along with any water there, i hated to shower and felt so gross and smelled worse after it•no elevators and i was put on the second floor when i use a cane and have POTS syndrome (which in short terms means movement such as standing makes my heart go 40+ beats up. mine usually lands in the 120-130 from walking) so going up the 2 flights of stairs had me at 150-160 and i blacked out from a syncope episode because my heart can’t handle stairs.•air conditioning could only be put on cooling or else it would stink like eggs so our room was freezing all the time•also going to sleep hearing gun shots and things wasn’t it for sleeping.•charged us 50$ extra with no explanation•they said they only clean there rooms once a week no matter what, and that’s if the house cleaner shows upnow to some smaller things•vending machine with drinks had minimal drinks and it was 1.50 for a water (not complaining) but the machine didn’t take change and doesn’t give money back so i was wasting 50¢ per bottle and i was there multiple nights with my fiancé•vending machine with the food wouldnt take any $ only change• washing machine works but dryer didnt•our cards wouldn’t let us in our rooms multiple times being there•service just wasn’t pleasantlong story short don’t stay there for so many reasons and just i wish places would actually care about accessibility and also cleanliness.

2022-06-28Do not take the room 227...it was horrible, toothpaste on the mirror and a huge wad of gizz on the bedskirt. Called the front desk about issues was rudely told it was non refundable and they were full...used only the 1 bed...next day breakfast was late by several hours and was told to bad...also, since when do hotels offer smoking rooms? I havent seen that in 20 years.Management refuses to return calls...If Management happens to see this, we were there on June 24th...you got our info call us!!

2022-07-20Staff member Dominick (sp?) was the only one at Super 8 in East Moline, Illinois who chose to do the right thing after my husband was denied service at the Super 8 in Davenport, Iowa, due to having a service dog and not being able to provide a service dog registration number (no such thing exists in the world).Dominick chose to disregard his managers handwritten scribbles directing him to charge for a service dog, to demand a registration number, and to get a deposit for a service animal. It took a little bit to explain to him the situation, but once we did, he did some research into the Americans with Disabilities Act and chose to follow federal law over his bosss illegal instructions. Dominick, youre the real MVP here, and thank you for doing the right thing. Ownership at this facility, you should be ashamed of yourselves and immediately change the way youre doing things. Were filing a civil rights violation complaint with the state of Illinois, as well as a complaint with the BBB and any other agency we can. Consumers need to know how you operate, and veterans BEWARE.
