Ordered food for take out. First the food wasnt correct. Called them up and they offer a free meal... What about the one I just PAID for?Next I get to looking at my charges on my debit card and its $11 dollars more than the menu online. I call then again and its an old menu on their website. Maybe you should get that updated so people actually know how much theyre paying?!The food here is good but this whole situation went from ordering dinner to feeling like we got scammed out of time and money. Would not suggest ordering from here.
Absolutely horrible service! I suppose its my fault that I keep ordering from them, but its hard to find home cooked type meals. But every single time without fail, they get the order wrong, forget something in the order, or charge us for things like sides and bread that are supposed to come with the meals according to the menu. Thats if you can even get the order taker on the phone to understand your order, the people that take the orders dont understand what you are saying at all. They are always so incredibly rude as well. I dont understand how they possibly have an almost 5 star rating. Its like they think because they have been in Rockford for so long that they can just treat people how ever they want, over charge people. Im convinced that they purposely put someone on the phone that acts like they dont understand English very well so that they can act confused so that you give up and agree to the extra charges just so that you can get your order placed.
There was one waitress working, she wouldnt even acknowledge our family, waited on someone who sat down after us. Thankfully the bus boy came over and asked us if we wanted drinks and then about 10, 15 minutes later he came back and took our order. Waitress still never even looking in our direction. It was so uncomfortably cold it was hard to relax. Food was ok, seems like every time we go service gets worse. Most likely wont go back.
09Nov19. For my first time, I couldnt decide what to order. My waitress suggested the buffet. The service was excellent. The buffet is well worth the price. The potato casserole was delicious. The tater tots, gravy, eggs, bacon, and sausage were hot and just right. I wasnt impressed with the meatballs and swedish pancakes. The fruit was fresh, as well.
I shouldnt even one star them.. we got there at 5:30p.m didnt get to order our food and our drinks till 6p.m our food didnt get there till 6:45. it tasted horrible nothing was good only got one refill. room we where is was hot.. there was 2 servers there with only 3 or 4 other tables besides ours. it was THE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERICED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE
The food was amazing! I got a light breakfast with swedish pancakes and two sausage links, it only took around 7 minutes to be served! The swedish pancakes were insanely easy to cut, and the sausage links were perfect texture. The butter was creamy and melted, and the buffets they have on weekends are AMAZING! I love the place and hope to go there again! 🙂
Visiting from Texas, and had to come try the world famous Swedish PancakesI liked them, but next time Ill tell them toast them a little more, I guess typically they come out kind of soggy, which while they taste good I prefer a toasted texture.Try with the linguini berries (linden, lingen, something like that)Portions are pretty large, and the price is right.Great service, great food, Ill go back there for breakfast next time Im in Rockford
Stopped here on a road trip because I’m a Cheap Trick fan and Rick Nielsen of the band is part owner in the restaurant. They have his guitar on the wall and you can strum it for good luck. The restaurant was much larger than I expected and was decorated in a Swedish style, as well as very clean. The service was a little slow even though they weren’t busy at the off-peak time we were there, but the staff was pleasant. The Swedish meatballs and noodles were great. They are known for their lingonberry dishes, especially pancakes, so I tried some lingonberry jello to get a taste - and it was delicious! The meal also came with a small free dessert. The prices were very budget-friendly.
So...we cant come to Rockford as Swedes and not go to the home of Swedish Pancakes and Dahlia Horses...The Swedish pancakes with Lingon never disappoint! Is it perfect...absolutely not...Is it nostalgia... absolutely!!!Sometimes, you overlook all the faults just to experience it one more time...to have Swedish pancakes like grandma made...Update 5/22 - Tried an early dinner with family. There apprared to possibly be only one server, who was running non-stop. She was really trying and very overwhelmed. The Swedish Pancakes were wonderful as normal. The Swedish Meatballs were horrible! Dry, hard meatballs on top of a small smear or cold congealed gravy! Boiled Potatoes and green beans sides, had no seasoning. The Broiled Fish was quite small and had no seasoning. The Stewed Tomatoes and side salad were average at best. The Cardamon Rolls were actually fluffy, flavorful and Very Good!!!Our Advice...be prepared for some slower service. Stay with the Swedish Pancakes with Lingon...avoid other offerings!
Tried checking in this hotel (or is it a motel? I dont speak Swedish), but the lights were on and had comfortable fluffed pillows (I guess gift shop means bedroom in Swedish?). No Swedish massages or bikini waxes offered. Also, no ABBA playing. Hourly rates! :) Darn good food!
I ate at Stockholm Inn 12 yrs ago. It has lots of charm and is clearly very popular. Saturday and Su day are the days to go for the well-priced buffet that has nearly everything you would find on the menu anyway.Personally I loved the swedish meatballs. The Swedish pancakes are great and a staple. The eggs left a lot to be desired from the buffet but you kind of expect it to be cafeteria style scrambled eggs. Staff was all really pleasant as well and very attentive. Carmen was great!!That said, I give it 4 stars because, frankly, its just a slightly fancier, ethnic Ihop with a buffet. Many of the items are precisely how you would find them at another breakfast stop (hash browns, eggs, bacon). You wont be upset and the food is very tasty. The price and the experience should synch the deal, though thats only true on the weekend special prices. Otherwise I dont know that there are enough reasons to go unless you have a craving or are passing through and really cant go on the weekend. Will I be back again? Sure. Back again next weekend? No.
Food selection excellent. Most of the many items I got were delicious. However the kroppkuker had cooled. The time it took for the waitress to first get to us was considerable but they seemed short staffed as are many establishments now and after the initial wait the service was fine.
We got there at about noon so they were fairly busy. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us often. My fried chicken was great and my girlfriend enjoyed her steak and eggs. We will definitely be going again.I wanted to add that Google asked if they deliver and I said yes. They dont personally deliver but you can go through one of the food delivery apps. Also said that you can do take out. Its not advertised but reasonably sure if you order and ask for it to go they would do so for you.
We went for Swedish pancakes and Swedish meatballs! They have an extensive menu, which included American staples as well, but we wanted Swedish. The pancakes were incredible! The meatballs were just a little off. I couldnt put my finger on it, but it had a faint aroma of being off. Service was average. The wait staff felt free to talk to each other shouting across the room. One burst into loud song as she moved between tables, and no, this wasnt a show or the restaurants theme thing! I was a little nonplussed. However, i might go again if i am in the neighborhood.
I never understood the appeal of this place. I have been twice to dine in. The first time I went I had no idea what to expect other than the seemingly stellar reviews on google. Let me just say it was the opposite. Extremely poor service from the staff. They rushed us to place our food order once we sat down. Understandably, they were moderately busy, but we sat and waited for our food for 30 minutes. During that time we got no refills and when the server arrived with the food he set the plates down with the check and never checked on us after. I ordered a skillet and was not asked how I would like my eggs cooked. It’s not a huge deal, but it’s actually quite standard at breakfast joints to ask. So this left me disappointed because I ended up getting something I didn’t want, no condiments, no refills on my drink, and couldn’t even wave someone down for a to go box. We gave the place another shot and went a second time, but it was the same situation. The meal for the two of us was 40 bucks and it was lousy. If you are looking for a local joint to get breakfast with quality food, memorable service, and decent prices go to Johnny Pamcake’s. They treat you like family and even remember how you like your coffee.
I really only gave this restaurant two stars because of the unique decor and the palatable service. However, it took forever to get our food and my party was like the second group in the door that morning. And the food itself was meh at best. And it honestly hurts me to say that because I have fond memories of this place when I was younger but as and adult… this is a place I recommend skipping, unless you’re all about that Swedish decor and Swedish pancakes.I ordered the Swedish pancakes and actually those were really good. But the biscuits and gravy? Virtually inedible. What’s frustrating is that I ordered a separate biscuit for my kids at the table and that was very moist. Somehow the biscuits I got with my B&G tasted super dry, even WITH THE GRAVY. And there was no flavor. I had to stop eating it. Just save everyone the trouble and take it off your menu until you change the recipe. Please. Also, way overpriced for the quality of food. In it’s current state, not worth it.
Im usually happy with everything here, last time I ordered I did 4 takeout, we mostly dine in, ordered my short stack of sweds w/lingonberries & side order of hashbrowns. Pickup order was missing the lingonberries that we get charged extra for, hashbrowns not cooked well enough, could have been little more brown/crispy. Also wanted hashbrowns with onion, green pepper & cheese, the gal taking order didnt seem 2 comprehend what I was asking her for, so told her just give me regular hashbrowns instead. When we dine in, I usually dont have a problem ordering my hashbrowns this way. Gal taking orders by phone could have better phone etiquette too when taking the orders. We go here frequently, as we live nearby this area & usually have good food & service from here.
EXTREMELY disappointed today! Wife and i walked in at 10:05 am. Nobody was waiting to be seated. After 6 minutes of waiting to be seated, an older, very rude lady grabbed menus and walked away from us not saying to follow her to the table. After finally getting seated, it took another 10 minutes for a waitress to come to our table for our order. I ordered a Patty Melt and the wife, Eggs and Corned Beef Hash. Pretty easy order. Finally, at 10:48 and no waitress in site, and still no food, we had enough and left.
Disgusting. Baked chicken looked and tasted as if made a week ago and reheated. Stuffing dry and tasteless. Baked sweet potato was half baked, hard as a rock. Baked rice pudding also dry, old, tasted very stale and rice grains crumbled into nothing. Was missing one complete item from pick up order. Never again. Wish I could give minus stars.
Havent been here since 1983, when we lived in the area. Food tasted just as good today as it did then. Swedish pancakes with legion berries for me. Wife had the potato pancakes. I sneaked a couple of bites, Wonderful! Visited the bakery and picked go some item for our daughters family.Waist line will not stand to may visits but we will be back.
We went for breakfast yesterday and tried the all you can eat for 11.99 per person. It was excellent, the swedish pancakes so fluffy and melt in your mouth with lingonberries! Good Lord! Also swedish meatballs, scrambled eggs, bacon , sausage, french toast, fresh fruit, two kinds of cheesy potato casseroles, biscuits and gravy, etc. Too much to mention but excellent. The coffee is excellent too! Go early to avoid the crowd. We went at around 9:45am. It was perfect and tasted so good! We will definitely be back! Thank you to all the hard working staff at Stockholm, we appreciate you all!!!!🥰🥰🥰
Went here for the Mothers Day brunch AND dinner buffet and it was the best around by far! Very professionally done with plexiglass in front of all the food and servers dishing it up faster than any of us could have! What a great experience and of course the best Swedish food around!!
I threw my sister a baby shower here and was so disappointed. They promised us 30 minutes to set up and when i got there, people were seated in the room. When i told the hostess she was extremely rude and unhelpful. They also did not provide the tables we asked for and we had to hunt someone down to bus the tables once the people finally left. This caused us to have to scramble to set up in 15 minutes while guests were starting to arrive. We also had planned out a set menu with them beforehand which consisted of 4 options. The menu they gave the guests only had 3 options and one of them was completely wrong. We had also agreed to only offer coffee and water for beverages, but the listed a bunch of soda options and this ended up costing us 100 dollars more. And to top it all off the service was terrible we had to ask several times for water and they didnt bring it out until after we had started eating. And no one ate the eggs because were cold and really undercooked. I do not suggest booking a party with them.
Just ordered take out. I got home and realized one of the meals wasnt in there. I ordered a salmon dinner and a tuna melt. The tuna was missing. I understand accidents happen but I tried calling them 3 times but no answer. I tried to leave a message but the voicemail is full. I guess Im just out of my money. If they answer tomorrow and correct it Ill happily take this review down.
Waited an hour after ordering and never received any food. Meanwhile people who came after us were seated, got there food, ate, and left. The waitress never gave her name, and didnt come back after i asked why or food was taking so long. This was the second time they did this.
Swedish pancakes Here are authentic!!! They are exactly the way my husbands grandma made them for us in the 50’s. The only exception is she made them the size of silver dollars—-and she would make 50 to 100 to feed us all. Every other restaurant we have ever eaten them at were just glorified crepes. We also ordered bacon which was especially tasty. Also the Swedish meatballs were very good. Overall the food was the “most authentic” ethnic food we have ever eaten!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!
We were a party of 6 for the mothers day brunch, they were extremely busy but from the moment we walked the staff was friendly and unharried, they had to buffet lines and they moved quickly and the was hot, fresh and delicious...and the food servers were, quick, generous and friendly. This was a totally good experience and we all commented on how fortunate we were to come across this as our choice
Stockholm Inn is and always has been an icon of Rockford dining. As old as the restaurant is, it is still immaculately clean and the decor really contributes to make it an upbeat Swedish ambiance. The food is everything you ever needed for breakfast. Hands down best swedish pancakes and lingonberries around. Its very popular to eat here and always busy but the service is good and you never wait long at all. Its a treat to eat here and I will continue to treat myself every chance I get!
Very clean. Wait staff very friendly. You can sit and have a conversation after dinner. They do not try to get you out once you have taken the last bite of food. Food was excellent. I had a Patty melt. The rye bread had a home made taste. The coleslaw was delicious. The person I was dining with had an egg salad sandwich with their homemade potato chips. Plenty of filling and homemade bread. Prices are great! Saturday night buffet is $14.99. Definitely a go to restaurant.
The customer service at this place has really gone downhill. Walked in and were told to sit and wait to be seated at a table. We waited for 12 minutes and two other families who walked in after us, got seated before us. I finally said something to the lady at the front and she said “oh sorry we thought you were waiting for a pick up”.We finally got seated, this one waitress said someone would be right with us as she kinda just pushed the plate mats in front of us.As we were talking, Fragoso (our waiter) dude with a long pony tail, walked up to our table. Didn’t greet us, looked annoyed and just stared at us, like literally for a good solid awkward 4 seconds. Finally he said, “you want to order or I come back.”At that point, I just ordered our food (that he still didn’t get right). Maybe he was having an off day, who knows. I rarely write reviews but this is the 4th or 5th time that I’ve had a bad experience at Stockholm. Which is really unfortunate because this used to be the place to go growing up. I remember it used to be so lively and the staff was always so jolly and welcoming! Most of the staff now & even some management look miserable and like they don’t want to be there. I’m not writing this review to bash them, only in hopes that maybe it’ll give them the motivation to make some changes.
Stopped by for a late-day breakfast after a little day trip to the Japanese Gardens. The pancake combo was such a generous portion; the pancakes were huge and delicious! I also ordered a cinnamon bun and was not expecting the giant sized pastry that came out 🤤 Our server Lizbeth (I didnt catch her name, but thats what the receipt showed) was super sweet and checking in with us often. +5 stars just for her 😊
Great Swedish pancakes but mediocre weak coffee. Most distressing was the loud dish dumping next to our table in the middle of the dining area. This near constant crashing of dishes created a cacophony that abruptely halted any possibility of conversation with relatives we had traveled hundred of miles to see. Maybe move this task to the kitchen or get rubber dishes. 😆
The waiters are rude and never ask if you need anything or if you need a refill. You always have to track them down and when you do they have a terrible attitude. I’ve lived in Rockford all my life and Stockholm inn is not the best! If you are looking for great customer service and waiters who care go to Johnny Pamcakes! 100x better! Stockholm inn is terrible.
The Stockholm Inn was fantastic! We needed a good breakfast spot while we were in town for work and saw the reviews and decided to give it a shot. I got the world famous Swedish pancakes and loved them! We were not offered any of the lingonberry jam, but I didnt mind as the butter provided kicked the flavor up even more! Great outdoor seating.
Menu said world famous burgers, false advertising it was the worst burger I ever had, dry, no taste, and small. Service was bad and super slow, sat there for 25 minutes before waiter even came to table. Took our order, brought the food, and brought bill. Never asked us if we needed a refill or if everything was ok. Terrible service. Bad nite of dining sorry.
Fantastic food! Weve only done delivery due to COVID, so we cant speak of inside. Though my mother called and asked a question, and the woman who answered the phone was nice and knowledgeable. My family so far had the potato bake, egg casserole, blueberry muffins (I will never eat a muffin from anywhere else again), Swedish pancakes, Swedish meatballs, pea soup, baked chicken, loose meat sandwich, their housemade chips, Swedish rye bread, and the cardamom roll. Everything so far has been amazing and homemade. They have new regular customers in us!
Stockholm Inn is a destination to visit in Rockford, IL. Whenever we have guests from out of town we take them to Stockholm Inn for breakfast. They have a nice buffet which is a great way to sample the various breakfast offerings. Their Swedish pancakes are fantastic and their cheesy potato bake is also very good. The last few times I have been their I have had the same waiter. He forgot about our table and I ended up going to the front desk to ask for the bill. I was told he receives a number of complaints and that I should ask for a different waiter the next time I come in. I was told that my concern would be brought to management. All other experiences have been great! Next time I go I will make sure I have a different waiter.
Ordered on the phone. When I got my order home 1 order was wrong. I got a very tasty sweedish pot roast and a tastey dinner role. What I did not get was my 2 sides. If you order take out make sure to check everything before you leave because they might not have put everything you asked and paid for.
Went there during quarantine so the buffet wasnt open but I got the world famous Swedish pancakes and the cheesy potatoes. I think they should switch titles. While the pancakes melt in your mouth and are totally amazing the cheesy potato casserole was a savory and excellent counter to the sweet pancakes. Wouldnt change a thing and will order more potatoes next time!
I hate leaving bad reviews... If youre looking for food, this place is really good! But the atmosphere is really oppressive. Both me and my fiance felt like we couldnt speak, felt uncomfortable the whole time. Staff was sweet! Food is pretty alright! But atmosphere kills the whole experience.
Tried the weekend buffet for the first time and was might impressed. A higher quality of food, including Swedish Pancakes and Lingonberries. Sausage, bacon, at least 3 kinda of potatoes, buttermilk pancakes, scrambled eggs, etc. For $10.95 a person, its a great deal. Service was also prompt and friendly. Cant ask for anything more.
This has been a local mainstay for many years. Despite its incarnation into a much larger investor owned version of the original family restaurant, it has managed to maintain much of the characteristics that made the original successful. If youve got a hankering for some of their specialties such as swedish pancakes, swedish meatballs or vanilla pecan crust pie, this is the place.
If you love Swedish pancakes, this is the place for you! Their breakfasts are outstanding and the wait staff is so nice. They also have a great Swedish artifacts area and Swedish things to buy. The food is pretty good and the buffet is kept up pretty well. When going for major holiday the service is a little slow but overall great food. This is a decades known staple for the area. We were greeted by friendly staff and quickly seated. A variety of food was ordered and enjoyed by al
Big but homey. Good service. Great Swedish food. Excellent buffet. Customers of all varieties but a lot of blonde people there, must be a local Swede favorite. Easy parking with a rear entrance if front parking is full. We brought home six Swedish pancakes. They are sort of like thick crepes.
Love this restaurant! I am a caregiver for elderly and disabled. My client introduced me to this wonderful place as Im not a Rockford native. We went there many times. The Swedish pancakes, OMG they are so good, a must try! Food is hearty and delicious, staff attentive and very welcoming. If you havent been here yet, Id definitely give it a try!
I have enjoyed multiple visits to the Stockholm Inn for breakfast. They have a variety of breakfast options for any pallet. If you have a sweet tooth the classic Swedish pancakes are tasty. Otherwise they have a variety of hardy omelette options. The service is always good but be advised, despite the fact this place is huge, it can get crazy busy at times.
I have been coming here regularly for over 30 years. Each time, I feel I get a tad more disappointed. I know there are new owners and maybe things aren’t run now like they have been for decades. For example, the breakfast buffet offers up some wonderful food choices, but the food is usually at room temperature or cold. If you get the buffet, plan on your server being scarce. Ration your drinks! Today, while We were up grabbing from the buffet, we came back to our table being cleared. Our phones and full drinks were still on the table! Awkward. Then the bus boy scurried away and left someone else’s used coffee cups on our table once he realized we were still eating. Also awkward. Might be a while til We come back.
Top A1 food and service. Great atmosphere.Amber was our waitress and she was an amazing hostess and server to our table and one to many of Stockholm’s guests besides us. She was very attentive to our needs, remembered all that we had requested from her, not to mention her smiling and friendly personality. She made us feel as though we were her only customers even though she was obviously very busy!I’ll recommend Stockholm Inn to all of my friends.
14.00 for a basic breakfast of eggs, potatos, sausage patties, glass of OJ....The sausage patties were flavorless and below the quality of Mc Donalds. The OJ was a mix of a tang like orange drink and real juice ... probably like 50/50... 4.00 for the OJ !!!! They gave me some off brand ketchup packets ( only 3 tiny ones) the kind you get in the county jail..... Had better food at Danville Prison. If you are looking to eat breakfast..... pass Rockford by. These people in this town are thirsty, rude, and the bottom of the gene pool.!!!!
The food is good. I do have to say that I feel ignored Everytime I go there. On three separate occasions we have waited a long time to either get waited on or get our food. One time it was so bad they gave us coupons for free swedish pancakes. When we returned two times to use said coupons, it was a similar experience. Maybe regulars get priority or maybe minorities are not of high importance to the staff. Food is very good though.
Im truly baffled by the positive reviews. The breakfast buffet was absolutely disgusting with semi warm food and soggy Swedish pancakes. Service was slow and the food quality was worse than eating at Dennys. Weve been to this place a few times and have been underwhelmed both times. There are MuCH better breakfast options in Rockford. This place was just gross. Maybe they used to be good.
Good but not great, thought wed cut the wait time for food by ordering the buffet. Still didnt do the trick. Got our drinks after we were done eating, and ready for the bill. Wait staff never cracked a smile.Still love the Swedish atmosphere. I am sure its not our last time there.
Took my nieces & son for a special Swedish breakfast. It was around 10 in the morning. The place was not busy. It was 10 minutes before the server came to our table. She took the order & was some time before she even brought water & coffee. We waited for 45 minutes & she did not come by even once to check on us or to tell us why our food was taking so long. We thought of just getting up & leaving but didn’t. When the food came, it was cold, probably had been sitting for sometime. We complained at the checkout & the lady shrugged & said the kitchen must’ve been busy. Not going back!
They are unlike anything else, or anywhere else. I would love to tell you about the other food, but i literally get the same thing every time i come because it is that good! The food comes out within minutes of ordering it. Staff is always so prompt. I recently tried their special cheesy breakfest potatoes and they did not disappoint! They offer a breakfast/ brunch buffet that is the bomb. Anything you could possibly think of they offer- just on Sundays.
Great atmosphere. Food used to be fantastic, but has dropped a bit in quality in recent years. Staff is generally friendly and helpful, but Ive had some rather curt, frowny waitresses. Either way, Stockholm Inn is a staple of Rockford, and I definitely recommend eating here if you havent already. And try the Swedish pancakes, they are DIVINE.
Very disappointed on Monday 2-19-18. Took 5 people for Swedish pancakes. Seated promptly waited 15 min for waitress to come greet us. When she got to the table she was exhausted because management had understaffed waitresses Place was packed only 6 waitresses to all those tables. Theres so much more to say but Im in the same business so I wont go there. Food saved the day and i will be back someday and will be sure to make a reservation or five myself a 3 hour window to get seated, drinks, food and pay the bill. Definitely not happy with being understaffed.
Ive only been here for the Swedish Buffet on Saturdays, and it is delightful. The servers are efficient and helpful. Highly recommend the cardamom rolls and swedish meatballs. Also, cheesy potato bake! The baked goods in the gift shop are spectacular. Dont forget to pick up some to take home.
The food is good especially the fresh squeezed orange juice. The service this time was slow and the waitress was inattentive. The only problem I have is that the toilet in the mens bathroom closest to the urinal is loose....so when u sit down it feels like your gonna fall off. I brought this to the attention of management a couple of months ago and it still is not fixed. I dont know about anybody but it doesnt feel good when youre trying to do your business.
Nice cozy place. Buffett not kept hot enough and too pricey for the quality. ($14.99) The swedish pancakes truly are as good as they claim, but again needs to be served hot as food should be. If its not hot it becomes only mediocre. Our server Caroline was great, very friendly and attentive. If we go again I would request her to wait on us.
Not a great experience. Started off with a rude waitress. Her attitude was not friendly. When we asked for more creamer for the coffee, it took her over 5 minutes to return and she threw them on the table. Our table had asked for both regular and decafe coffee. She only brought out regular and was not pleasant or prompt about bringing out the other coffee. She did not come back to check on us after the food was delivered until she brought the check. The place was not busy, but it took awhile to get our food. This place used to be one I would recommend people to go to. After this type of service received on more than one visit it is no longer on my must go to list.
Ordered the corned beef and hash omelette. The corned beef hash is clearly from a can. It was served warm wrapped in a tasteless egg. The hashbrowns were mushy. On a positive note, the wheat toast was toasted and buttered well and the coffee was good.I had lunch with a group. The waitress asked if I needed a minute to order after I had only been seated for two minutes. I said I would need more than a minute. She said youre kidding right? A minute later she asked if I was ready to order. I said I need another minute because Ive never been here before. She said you are the last to order and we are waiting on you.None of the servers were cordial during the meal. Definitely couldnt recommend and I wont be back.
Stockholm is quite a large restaurant with lots of different spaces. There are fancy rooms with murals that can be reserved for smaller groups, large rooms that can be reserved for large groups, regular table and booth seating and diner-style counter seating. In addition to all this there is a store attached where you can buy items from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland. These include food items, clothing, knives, knickknacks, and the like. As these are authentic imported items, they can be relatively pricey. There is a large menu with breakfast items served all day. There are daily specials and the food is very reasonably priced. If you want to give many menu items a try, Saturday evenings are their smorgasbord where you can try everything buffet style. Stockholm is open most holidays for limited hours by reservation and a special meal is served on those days. If you like Swedish pancakes, you definitely have to stop here.
We loved this place. The food is great, especially the swedish meatballs. Its a pretty restaurant and the service was great. The gift shop is impressive and entertaining. This may sound odd, but the restrooms are absolutely beautiful! I took pictures of the ladies room. My photos of the stockholm inn are posted under the shopping center where it is located...I couldnt figure out how to change that on the application.
My wife grew up going to this restaurant whenever she visited her grandparents. It doesnt have the same nostalgia factor for me that it does for her, but the food speaks for itself. Cinnamon rolls are one of my favorite foods and they have possibly the best Ive ever had. Im just so mad that Ive been here several times and waited until our last visit to try it.
I ordered the potato dumpling stuffed with sausage. Not good and tiny portion for the cost. I ordered an entire other dish because it was so tiny. That, however, was great. The corned beef hash omelette with crispy hash browns were done perfectly. It took way too long to get the food though.
Doesnt get any better! Daily specials with authentic Swedish meals! My 2 favorites are served on the same day. I often eat one for lunch and take the other one home. They are the mock chicken leg (it is veal in the shape of a leg) all covered in a creamy white sauce. The other meal is baby back ribs cooked in sauerkraut with sweet red cabbage. So very different but both good in their own way.PS. The Swedish pancakes are to die for!
10 am on a Tuesday and this out of the way place had more than 50 people eating. Large place, seated quickly.Authentic swedish food and great variety of other choices. Egg casserole was light and fluffy, delicious. Potato pancakes were excellent.Only complaint is a side of links were 2 small ones and they have fountain iced tea. In this day when cold brew is so good, theres no reason for a sit down place to have fountain tea.Beautiful bakery offerings
The service was terrible. Had to ask for silverware, napkins. I asked for a glasd of unsweetened tea. 15 minutes later she comes back to tell me she had to change something over. 10 minutes later she com3 back with my tea. Never came back to ask how our food was. My friends steak was overcooked. The waitress was right behind us talking to someone. Apparently non paying customers are more important than the paying ones. Will never go there again.
On Sunday September 17, we reserved a room for 16 guests. We had a wonderful time celebrating a baby shower for my niece. The waitress was WONDERFUL ! Her name is Amber. She was polite, courteous and very professional. The orders were accurate and we were served in a timely manner. All the food that was ordered very good. I have already recommended Stockholm Inn to several people. However your website is not user friendly!
We visited on a Friday morning. It was late morning so we wanted to order breakfast. However when we got there, they had a buffet going. It looked so good that we all ordered that. It was wonderful. We still got the Swedish pancakes and lingonberries that we planned on getting, but because of the buffet we got a whole more. Between us, we also enjoyed fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, roll, cheesy potatoes, Swedish meatballs, baked beans and fuji apples that were baked. The buffer is worth the trip. Just remember to use a clean plate!

2022-05-18I havent been here in years, used to come here for Thanksgiving every year until one year they were serving pretty much a raw turkey until me and another lady said something and they came and took the turkey away and everyone was left without having turkey on Thanksgiving and still had to pay full price. But went again and food was great although it took a long time to get when hardly anyone was there

2021-11-14I had the smokehouse skillet and my wife had the buffet. I was super impressed with the skillet. Lots of meat mixed in with eggs, peppers, hash browns, and onions. DISCLAIMER: MY WIFE, WHO IS HALF SWEDISH, DOES NOT DO WELL AT BUFFETS. My wife was disappointed by the buffet. The biscuits and gravy here meh, the bacon tasted like cardboard and the variety was OK. The service was great and the atmosphere was memorable. Also, the meatballs from the buffet were really good.

2022-01-18We had the buffet for $13 each. Amazing. Every bite was fantastic. Swedish pancakes are to die for!!! The server also retrieved cream cheese for me, even though it was on the buffet and I just missed it. I was thoroughly impressed.

2022-04-24Service was slow, prices were a little high, roast turkey was tasty and tender, cabbage rolls were firm and bland, veggies were not seasoned at all. The atmosphere is kitchy.I would eat here again, but not often. The cardamom rolls are a must! Absolutely delicious.

2021-01-21Stop in for a huge hearty breakfast! You cant go wrong with filling Swedish pancakes, and if you have never had a waffle with a light cardamom flavor, youre missing out on a cozy treat. If you order the cinnamon roll, consider splitting it with another person... or two. Theyre huge! Friendly service and the folks at the checkout station are always helpful. Gift cards offered at the front desk make a great option for friends and family as well.

2022-04-02The reason I gave Stockholm Inn 3 stars was simply because of cost. This may or may not be from recent inflation but when does 1 piece of ham, 2 pancakes, 2Swedish pancakes, 2 eggs over easy, and 2 cup of Swedish peas soup cost $45.00? Inflation or not that is just absurd.
