Love this place!! Barbara and Michael are fun to be around and the best at what they do. Skin Med Spa has advanced technology and offer wonderful facials, lasers, and ivs. If you are in need of a self-care day or need to feel better then schedule a service here and it will be just the pick me up you need.
This place is amazing & I am so happy I decided to come here! Barb & Mike are such extremely nice and welcoming people and made the entire experience phenomenal. I will never be going anywhere else for anything else face wise. I recently tried the Italian peel for wedding skin prep and later that evening people could not stop telling me how great my skin looked!! (I was not wearing an ounce of makeup)
I waited to see my full results before I wrote a review. I was a little nervous at first but I love my results. Barbara & Michael are fantastic. Very knowledgeable and comforting. BEST. MED SPA. EVER.Many spas employ people who are not qualified to do injections, like filler and Botox. Skin Med Spa, not only offers unbeatable prices, but also employs people who are certified! NP Barb is hands down the best injector in the Chicagoland area and Dr. Mike is extremely knowledgeable. I was nervous to get filler for my first time, but Mike and Barb made the whole experience fun and seamless. If you don’t want to be the next star on Botched, I would highly recommend this office!
I have quite the list of issues, so much that I’ve developed debilitating self consciousness. Yet I walked out of the office today with a new lease. I am so impressed already, after just one visit beginning with Botox and some fillers, (including to build up my chin while I complete extensive oral reconstruction). They knew exactly what to do, they listened attentively, and they responded with confidence and competence; Yet with the comfort and lightness you’d expect from friends!Barb and Mike also went out of their way to reduce every possible discomfort, seriously their bedside manner exceeded my expectations. They are empathetic, uplifting, and informed; I felt nothing phony or intimidating. Just excellent work. I cannot recommend them enough.
If i could give them a 10 star i would from the time i walked into the door i was attended to . someone who works in a plastic surgeons office i would highly recommend med spa the staff was friendly and there for support in the process i had botox and lip filler for the first time and the best thing about it was i only used .5 of my filler and had the option to come back if i wanted to have more to my lips in 2 weeks instead of waisting the rest of what i payed for. Hands down the best staff ever. i have told everyone about it and i will go back for my follow ups

This is my second visit there my mom and I had a great experience. We both got fillers and Botox done. We are so happy for the results. Barbara was so professional and made us feel comfortable during the visit. And most importantly I love my new lips, very natural and I feel beautiful.
The Nurse Practitioner of the med spa is great! Very professional and detail oriented. Quick and painless service, maintains total comfort during procedures. I had the best botox treatment which I love! The jeuveau was even better than botox. It was my first time doing it and I can’t believe what a difference it made in looking more youthful. Barb was so patient with me and answered all of my questions. I know I can be a little high maintenance so it was nice that Barb was so friendly and understanding of all my questions. I also had some laser resurfacing for acne scars and they were extremely knowledgeable and offered effective solutions.Will be back to get the Opus Plasma for under eye tightening! I just came here for the first time today for a Botox experience and I could not be happier! I decided to try Jeaveau today and was super impressed. From the moment I walked it, I was greeted warmly from Mike and Barb. Both are extremely knowledgable and up to date with the best skincare & procedures. I cannot wait to go back for fillers, lasers, and the Italian peel! Definitely a wonderful atmosphere.
I just had a 35% tca peel done with Mike at Skin Med Spa. I cannot tell you how amazing my experience was! There was no discomfort whatsoever and almost felt like I was getting a facial. I have Irish skin and usually turn beat red after peels but not this one! I had zero down time. I cannot wait to see my results. If I could give this place 10 stars I would!
I stumbled upon this when looking for a a tattoo removal place. It was the best random find! I am a nurse and cleanliness and knowledge of treatments is extremely important. Not only does this staff take time explaining all treatments, but they really care about their patients. The spa is beautiful and I am actually getting my other skin care treatments and couldn’t be happier!!! They are the best!

I’ve been going to Skin Med Spa for a while now. The place is impeccably clean, beautiful and serene. I never have trouble making an appointment and they’re all very professional keeping you the client safe and comfortable! I’ve had microneedling, Botox and fillers which has worked wonders. It may sound like a lot but it’s very subtle! I look and feel like a teenager again and I’m in my 30’s! Can’t wait to go back for laser hair removal!
It was my first time and I had very little information on Botox, lip fillers, etc. They were SO nice, welcoming, and did not make me nervous at all. They answered all my questions without me needing to ask them, they were NOT pushy, and it was a clean environment! Reasonably priced as well!I am DEFINITELY returning for more service & I’m so excited.
As a guy, it’s still somewhat taboo to get aesthetic treatments. I have had the opportunity to get treatments by both providers, Barbara and Mike. They are both extremely knowledgeable and talented, and made me feel tremendously comfortable, and not to mention the fact that they have the best and most expensive lasers. Hair removal so painless with their device, and it only took 5 sessions to see Total hair reduction. All of this, coupled with the fact that they are better priced than the competitors around the area is a no-brainer to come and visit these experts for your aesthetic needs!!

Barbara is amazing!!! My first time trying Jeuveau and the result was better then expected! Barbara is great at injecting; my eyes are lifted and wrinkles are gone! She even gave me a little lip flip to remove wrinkles above my lip. I look in the mirror and the results are incredible! I honestly cant say enough good stuff about this place ! They offer so many different things to fit everyones personal needs, and Barb is literally the best nurse injector ever! She always does an amazing job on my lip fillers and occasional Botox. I have also started getting the IPL laser treatments on my face to help remove pigmentation and I am obsessed my skin has never looked better ! Shes the only person I trust with my face so schedule your appointment because it will be the best decision you have ever made!

The spa was so modern and clean I could eat off the floor! Got the Oxygeneo facial done and my face is still glowing a week later. I’ve been looking all over for this type of facial and this med spa is the only one in the area that does it. Barb was so friendly and professional and explained every part during the facial and all of the benefits of the treatment. It was such a relaxing, fun experience. I’ve gone to Skin Med spa for botox and laser hair removal, each time the staff was very informative and friendly and I loved the results! Just one visit and 95% of the hair was gone and I’ve been back a second time for botox because it did take some years off my looks. I’m going back for my second treatment of hair removal in a couple of week.
I’ve been going to Barb for years, she’s the best! She has done my fillers, Botox and recently Jeuveau. My favorite is the lip flip with and/or without filler. Recently had a small amount of filler injected into my cheeks and am in love with the results! My main concern has always been looking like I’ve had too much done so I like that she listens to what you want. I am extremely satisfied with the natural and youthful appearance she has always been able to deliver for me- Prevention at it’s finest! I love the positive and friendly energy you feel when you walk in to Skin Med Spa. Highly recommend!
It was my first time doing a ResurFX laser treatment for skin tone and fine lines. Only mild discomfort but was happy I did it, the practitioner helped me with my daily routine for my first 5 days , she was so nice and extremely professional. Highly recommend Thanks Skin Med Spa!
I had pdo threads done terribly in PA. started losing hope when calling around desperately trying to find someone fix these threads showing through my skin on my face but nobody wanted to go in and fix someone elses mistake. Let me tell ya at skinmedspa they were relentless in helping fix my problem. These are people who clearly care about their work and performance. One of the most important things when allowing someone to stick things in your face should be trust and I 100% trust them. Highly highly recommend.

My orthodontist had suggested I try botox for my TMJ/TMD pain. I was nervous but went ahead and tried it after reading good reviews of Skin Med Spa. Barbara was very kind, empathetic, knowledgeable, and patient. I had immediate pain relief. Its only been one day so far but the constant pain Ive been dealing with for the last few months is almost completely gone.
Its the first time having any skin rejuvenation performed and was bit apprehensive. From the moment I walked in to Skin Med Spa all my concerns were put aside by the friendly and professional staff. Dr. Mike was complete and maticulas professional. I couldnt be more pleased with the results! Went to downtown Downers Grove with my wife for sushi. Next door to the Sushi House was a new Med Spa … wasnt sure if it was open... I entered and found a nicely decorated, quant spa, not quite completed but they were very inviting. Nice staff, very informative … my wife asked if they heard of this facial machine... featured on the Bachelor . To my wifes surprise they had it. The oxygeneo, which I guess brings oxygen to the skin. So Christmas came early for Bridget … She was very impressed with her skin and happy with how it felt and glowed... I was happy that I got a present out of the way. Also, I was talking to one of the practitioners who specializes in Hormone Replacement - Low T … Ver impressed with his background on the subject matter... I will return to get tested... all in all an impressive place .. not cold, not sterile... felt like I was talking to friends... would highly recommend.
I had an appointment for a consultation and the woman who greeted me was nice and welcoming, however, she was not wearing a mask and she told me that I did not have to wear a mask either - it was completely up to me and my level of comfort. Then a man came out and gave me a bottle of water and he was not wearing a mask. When I asked them why he responded & said carbon monoxide is not good for you to which I replied neither is covid. They said they would wear a mask during treatment & they said they are tested often. I asked how many times total have they been tested and he said twice. Needless to say I told them I was no longer interested in their services. If you go into any medical doctors office (including dentists) every employee is wearing a mask but at Skin Med Spa the employees dont believe in it. The employees at Med Spa are not doctors and they do not conduct themselves at the same level of professionalism. I was going to save time by going there instead of Dr. Kelleher in Naperville but its not worth jeopardizing my health. I will drive a little longer for a Board Certified Dermatologist to perform the same procedures for the same fee because they will take proper measures to protect their patients. If you believe that wearing a mask does not reduce the risk of spreading covid then this is the place for you. Good Luck!

This place is incredible and the staff is extremely friendly and really has the customer/patient’s best interest in mind. I went in on a whim to see what my testosterone levels were. I’m in my early 30s was feeling tired and not as motivated. I could also see my muscle mass going down and fat was harder to get rid of even though I ran about 20 miles a week. A short time after recommended trt treatment I gained muscle, lost fat, and have a better approach on life in general. Really I feel like I’m in my early 20s and this point. I was a professional mma fighter and suffered from a severe amount of concussions which caused my testosterone levels to be lower than normal. This is actually a common occurrence for football players and fighters alike long after their glory days unfortunately, but Downers Grove Skin Med Spa reignited my fire and I feel brand new. Schedule today you won’t regret it!!!

I’ve been hearing from friends for years that if you get treated for Low T it will change your life. I finally decided to try it for myself. I recently turned 58 yrs old and sure enough I was diagnosed by Dr Mike as having Low T. After a series of treatments I can’t tell you what a positive impact it’s made on my life. My energy level and workouts have dramatically changed for the better. I feel 20 years younger!

Michael and Barbara have done an amazing job in removing my hand tattoos, in addition to providing any other necessary treatment! Michael came in during his extended weekend off because I confused our appointment dates; Michael fulfilled our appointment and was completely understanding. This is a prime example of the professionalism and selflessness that Michael and Barbara possess. Can’t speak highly enough of this business!

2022-05-10Skin Med Spa is amazing. Barb is so talented with her craft. I had some scarring from acne as a child. After 4 treatments, I was amazed at how great I looked minus the scars. I am actually getting compliments from peers on how glowing my skin is :) I feel younger and more confident now. I am glad, I finally did the procedure. 2022-05-23I thought long and hard before I wrote this review and more than once I backed out but then I decided I was going to write it just so others know that nothing is 100%. What took me to Skin Med Spa was the Laser Hair Removal ‘Limited Time Offer’ that was for $57! I thought WOW, that’s cheap, let me try it out. I made my appointment paid the $57 and went. During the hair removal session the staff was (and always were) nice; and just to be clear, this review is not targeting the people who work there but rather the treatments themselves and the prices. After the $57 session I decided to get the Full Face Laser Hair Removal. I bought the 6 sessions package for $750. I went to every session religiously. Every time I was there the staff was so nice, can’t complain about that and because of that and because I had finished my hair removal sessions I decided to buy the IPL Laser package which I bought in November (2021) because it was a Black Friday offer of BOGO Free! I jumped at the opportunity! It was a package of 3 sessions @ $300 each but with the offer, I only paid $600 for the 3 sessions instead of $900! Great, right???!!!!! Unfortunately my money literally went down the drain. Why? Because my facial hair came back and the pigment that I had and thought the IPL would magically ‘erase’ off my face, did nothing at all. I spent $1,350 (plus the initial $57) to help get rid of the facial hair and pigment on my face and the treatments did absolutely nothing. I called the Spa and expressed my concern about the facial hair and asked that since I paid $750 for 6 sessions and the hair is still not going away, would it be possible for ‘maintenance’ to be done, and would that be at no cost or would I have to pay even MORE money to get that done? Unfortunately, they said that I would have to pay. When I was there on my last day for the IPL I asked that if the pigment still didn’t go away, would ‘maintenance’ be done since I already paid in full or (again) would I have to pay? Unfortunately (again) they said I would have to pay. It’s so disappointing, I was really excited and I REALLY wanted the treatments to work so I could continue going to the same spa and getting more treatments but that wasn’t the case.Recently, I came upon a ‘Limited Time Offer’ from another Spa for Laser Hair Removal and that offer was for $25!!! I jumped on it for two reasons, 1- it’s WAY cheaper than the $57 offer Skin Med had and 2- I need to do the maintenance on my facial hair. Also, there’s a new place that just opened a few weeks ago in Naperville called LaserAway. This place has AMAZING prices!!! I bought an 8 (not 6!) sessions package for Underarm Laser Hair Removal at a 65% discount price (it was a special promotion they were having) for ONLY $417!!!! Yes, $417 for EIGHT SESSIONS!!!! I regretted not buying the Full Face package but up until that moment I still had hope that my facial hair would not come back and that my money didn’t go down the drain.In summary, the people at Skin Med Spa are great but the treatments don’t necessarily work, and the prices, compared to other places, are a bit expensive and at the end of the day… it’s not their fault that you paid ALL that money and didn’t get the results you expected.

2022-08-02I have had the best experience here. I have been to medspas all over the city including some of the most expensive ones and this is hands-down the best. They have always worked to accommodate me since day one and are extremely knowledgeable and professional.
