This is a great place for a quick bite right in the heart of downtown Lombard. Try the chicken salad sandwich - its delicious!
There was a death in the family and I was calling from New York. I wanted a tray of sandwiches sent to the house so they didn’t have to make anything.Not only did they get there immediately, everyone commented on how delicious they are. I cannot thank you enough. You put a smile on faces that were otherwise very sad, even if just for a moment.Sincerely, thank you.🌹
Fantastic local deli in downtown Lombard. Everything on the menu is great and the staff is super friendly. It gets busy during peak times, but the wait is never that bad. The portions of food are also filling and the price is right on point.

Very nice! Order at the counter when you come in. There is a paper menu which lists more items than the chalkboard, so check that out. A daily special is chalked on the wall above the cashier - today it was the cuban sami. I had a salad and my wife had a grilled chicken sami with chips, and she said it was top-notch. We ate on the deck upstairs, which was very pleasant. They have a soda fountain with coke products, and also fresh-brewed iced tea with either sugar or artificial sweeteners available. We definitely will be back for lunch again.Also would add how friendly the staff is! Makes it even more enjoyable!
By far the best Italian Sandwich I have ever had, the freshly homemade chocolate chip cookies are to die for! The people there are also nice, they know my order by heart and have it ready by the time I’m done paying! I would recommend this place to anyone that enjoys good and fresh food!
As someone who doesn’t eat meat, I appreciate their veggie option. Plus, it’s delicious! Two different kinds of cheese, mixed vegetables and sauce. So good! I get it all the time. You get a lot of food for the price.
Very cute little place. The employees are very friendly. My kids LOVED the chicken fingers (they are hard to impress), I got a chicken sandwich.. it was very tasty. But the winner winner was my husband that got the hot steak supreme!! Omg this was good! Next time Im ordering that for sure. Cant wait to come back!
This place is absolutely phenomenal! The food is seriously delicious, great pricing, and the atmosphere is like stepping into sunshine :) I came here for lunch today since it is so close to my work but now I need to come back and take my boyfriend, family, and friends! Glad to have found a fantastic local spot!

Awesome sandwiches with a variety of sides. The service is wonderful!We pre-order a fresh turkey every year for Thanksgiving and Order a few prime rib roasts for Christmas, and Christmas gifts. They always make it such an easy process, too!
Its been a great deli for years, but now has added a full service bar. Recommended!
Had the ruben. Dry meat. Good bread. Overall salty. Many other things look good there but I have to review it because how good the rating was. I went out of my way to go here and it did not live up to the hype. Also I think their pricing online did not match what I got charged. The sandwich was listed at $9.45 and I paid $11.50. Not sure what happened there.
This is my 4th time here. Sandwiches are beyond fantastic. Cant wait to try the bread pudding I bought today. Shepherds pie looks good too. Very friendly staff too.
We came to this spot for dinner. we heard about this restaurant from quite a few people. Well, we were not disappointed. The crew welcomed us with a smile and we had a great feeling. The meal was yummy. We loved this restaurant a lot and we shall definitely come back again. Highly recommended.

We were introduced to Shannons by a friend and have gone back dozens of times. Paul the owner is a great guy and the taste of the food is top notch. The soups are unreal, whatever they have try it! I have tried soups here that I would normally never think of trying. The shrimp poboy is phenomenal and I really like the Italian sub as well. Need something to take home for dinner? Grab a Sheppards pie and throw it in the oven. I dont think there is a thing you can eat here that you wont like.
Nice deli with good sandwiches. My husband loves their Ruben, says its one of the best hes had locally. Lots of sandwich selections, but there are also other items you can get too like salads or pasta. The seating area is large with lots of places to sit (and youre not on top of each other, like at some other sammy places). Overall, its a nice place - Id go back again.
Friendly staff, good food. Its right in downtown Lombard located near other bars and restaurants. They gave THE BEST rueben sandwich. Youre choice of chips and of course, a pickle on the side. Not a very long wait. Very happy with every visit.
Went in because they had outdoor seating and was not disappointed! The food was great (I had a pastrami and Swiss) and enjoyed the sunshine on their roof deck. Jennifer was very welcoming and friendly. If Im ever in the area again I will be back!
Our area needed a great non chain sandwich place and we finally got one with Shannons. Had the buffalo chicken sub fried, crispy and spicy so good. Sit on the roof if you go soon this place is probably worth moving to Lombard for.

Great staff. I work in the area weekly and this deli has been a mainstay for about six months. When I need it to go Im in, ordered, and gone in about 10 minutes even when there is a line. When I eat in they have TVs, plenty of seating, and free refills on fountain drinks.Full sandwich+drink+side (recommend potato salad) runs about $12. A couple dollars more than chain sandwich joints, but the quality here is vastly superior. Meats are tasty and plentiful, you will never think they are cheap. Its less than a Jewish deli portion, but by just enough that the portion isnt completely absurd. Veggies are always fresh and crisp.Deviated from my usual and tried the chicken wing special once, they were pleasant. I get the feeling they dont do anything unless they feel they can do it right.
I recently moved to lombard and today I was really craving a Reuben so I searched “best Reuben” near lombard... Shannon’s deli was one of the options so I deck to try it! It is DELICIOUS! And I’m honestly pretty picky. I loved everything. Along w my sandwich I ordered the cream of chicken soup (all soups homemade) it was the BEST, tons of white meat chicken like just totally perfect! And also a side of cucumber salad w moz and tomato’s in it...amazing! My new spot FOR SURE! Oh and my entire meal was like $12 dollars and some change! So glad I found this place!
Wonderful place with great food and quick service. Everyone here has always been very nice and caring. During Covid, they are open, have outdoor seating, and are taking orders ahead if you want. Highly recommend.
Wow. Wow. WOW. BEST sandwich I have ever had. The bread was soft and fresh, they dont skimp on meat at all, and it was ready within minutes for me to enjoy. Will 10000% be recommending this place to anyone and everyone who enjoys a good sandwich!
Learned my lesson: never pick up an order for meat here from anyone But the butcher we placed it with. Tried to cook our 6lb Point End Beef Brisket for Easter today, and ended up with a Half-cooked Flat Pot Roast that weighed more like 8 or 9lbs. They were busy trying to serve Lunch when we came in to pick it up, and the butcher was no where in sight. We think the cashier who went in the back grabbed someone elses meat. I understand things happen, and weve always been happy with this place. But, thats why its 2 stars instead of 1. Its disappointing, but even for a pot roast, it wasnt a good cut of meat. :-(

I got an Italian sub with fries,the sandwich was huge! I had to get the other half to go home! Super friendly staff there, I even got Shepards pie to go home for my hubby! Love this place! I will be back!
This place has a mostly empty deli case, employees working behind it, and I dont think the owners have ever seen a sandwich before. Bread is like gummy, just look at it. It looks like playdough. Theres no crust or bread baking skill here at all. I hear the meatballs are tasty, I dont know if Id vouch for much more. Meat is cut too thick and and just stacked flat onto the bread. Did these people used to work for Walmart? Those premade subs you can buy at 7-11 for $3 are comparable to this place. Only the bread is better. The owners would benefit from one month spent in a New York deli or even just eating at one.Do what you do for a reason. Dont just sell sandwiches because you can make a few bucks. Put some effort into the bread, sauces, toppings, and do the textures and build well. Anyone can just throw baloney on gummy white bread, but time is valuable..dont you want to be known as doing something good for the world? When Abram met God, he threw him a dinner party. He wine and dined him. He ministered to him and loved on him with food. Italians know all about love and family and food. Id like to see more of that from this place. Know that your sandwiches can make someones day. They can cheer someone up. Or be a part of their day while they go save lives or share their love with others. Dont be in the restaurant business just because you can. Do it cuz you love it. If you dont love it, quit and close up shop. Ive had enough of half hearted restaurants.Seriously, just go anywhere and eat a sandwich. Then come back and tell me yours are better. Prices are high as well. Its like $6-8 for half sandwich and $10 or so for a full sub. The full sub is maybe 8 inches long.

Amazingly tasty sandwiches and soups. And the orzo salad is TOTALLY awesome - the best side you can get. Sandwiches are VERY generous - you can easily split. So happy to have Shannons in Lombard!! We go nearly every weekend.
Very friendly staff make you feel right at home. Great menu options for sandwiches, subs, and salads. KILLER soup, I had Tuscan chicken soup and a reuben they were both great. Will be back to try more.
Great salads and sandwiches. Their potato salad is to die for. An added feature is a rooftop eating area with umbrellas. Perfect for a nice day. Unlimited soda and tea and lemonade. Loved the experience

I dont know what they put in their potato salad but have thought many times of reporting them for it! It cant possibly be legal. Whatever it is its addicting! Im not exagerating when I say it actually is the best potato salad Ive ever had. Weve tried recreating it several times. Please! They need better manners and a clock. I called at 6:17 to see if the rooftop was open, and a woman said “uhhh yes but we’re not making anymore seating, we close in 30 minutes,” even though they close at 7.
A lot of options with meats, breads, and desserts. Staff was very nice and sweet. Food was very good. Seating area was comfortable and large enough. I’d definitely come back.

2022-06-27Fantastic local place. With the expansion of the bar plus with the rooftop patio, its a fantastic place for a drink and quality bite. The sandwiches and soups are always fresh and very tasty. Nice to have options outside of the standard greasy burger. Very friendly and very fair pricing

2022-06-23One wouldnt think to come to a deli for a burger but theirs are excellent. The shredded lettuce you often find on a sub is great on a burger as well. Reubens here are great too, enjoyed everything Ive ever had here. The rooftop deck is a really nice feature.

2021-06-02We thought they were a little pricey at first but you got a lot of food and a bag of chips was included Our subs were very tasty and the size of a foot long .We liked the roof seating and homey feeling indoors will be back soon I hope the view from the roof wasnt the best but it was still fine
