I was here a couple times . I really liked everything about it. I remember last time I visited this place, there was a man. He asked me a couple times if he can help me or if I’m looking for something specific. They seem to be very nice and friendly. I’ll definitely go back.
Sephora is definitely the best store I could find when it comes to high quality and branded cosmetics. Not only cosmetics but also perfume and other beauty supplies. The last time I visited the store there were many items that are on sale which is really amazing. Everything is properly organized to which differentiation of the products use and its brand. The staffs are also accommodating and helpful to every customer inside. I had fun shopping and I also like their idea of providing testers for the customers like me because it is really convenient to try the products like lipsticks, shades and all other make ups if it really fits or if I like it something like that. This store is really great and the prices are fair and reasonable!
I’ve loved shopping at Sephora online and other locations in Chicago/IL. But I’ve had the worst customer service experience at the location in Woodfield Mall the last 3 visits. On my last visit, I literally ended up putting down everything I was going to buy and left the store to purchase it at Nordstrom instead, because I’m just done with the rude customer service here. Every single time I visit this Sephora, someone is being rude to me or customers around me. This time, I wanted to return something that I purchased online and missed the return window due to Covid. The online customer service representative told me to take it back to a store, but the manager at this location refused to honor that and couldn’t care less that I was exchanging my unused and untouched items for a much larger order — even after seeing that I’m a long term Sephora client from my loyalty membership. I don’t think I’ve left a negative review for a store ever, but had to do it for this one after 3 consecutive experiences. I’m clearly not the only one given that others share similar opinions here in their reviews. No idea how the store is still in business or continues to employ rude employees. Hope Sephora HQ steps in and does secret visits at this location to see how they treat customers. I will never shop at this location again. It’s actually deterred me from shopping on their site too since. Bummer.
Usually when I come here the staff is great. Today I came in to get color matched for a new foundation. I walked in and was greeted. When I asked about the color match the woman asked what foundation I was looking for. I told her I wanted the new KVD, she immediately said it wasn’t sold in stores. I replied that I knew that but could buy it online and just wanted to know my shade. She just stood there and said “yea...” didn’t offer to help me further. Completely rude and terrible customer service.
Hillary was the sweetest trying to help me out while she was busy with other customers too. I felt important and valued at this Sephora location. The manager and the cashier on 10/23 around 6pm were so sweet taking care of my exchange and explaining everything to me. Definitely recommend this location.
Let me just start by saying I live about 45-50 minutes from this location... when I walked into Sephora I was amazed not just by the amount of product they have but with the staff. They are soo awesome...they are very knowledgeable on all the products and also give you their honest opinion on every product... it make me only want to shop at this Sephora ..you can really tell the workers love being there!!!! Thank you!! And see you guys again soon!
Love Sephora... however I had an awful experience at this location once. I had asked for help and was told that someone will be over soon to help. Meanwhile, there were associates helping other people and I ended up waiting for a long period of time. Long story short... I ended up not purchasing anything.
I was greeted by a friendly associate as soon as I entered the store!! I was there to receive my birthday gift!! She described all of the choices and her recommendation!! The associate at the register was friendly and the entire process was simple and quick!! Im looking forward to using my special gift to pamper myself!!! 💜
I was greeted at the door right away. The individuals that applied my make up were experienced and detailed. They took a lot of time with me to explain all the products and listened to what I was looking to have done. Overall a great experience. Would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone! Veronica was great to work with and helpful!
Loved, loved, loved Kim - beautiful human inside and out. She was so helpful in helping me match my skin & find products that I would love. She also gave me some samples & email emailed me the products I tried in store with shade numbers and everything. Made my process in store much smoother!!
If I can give a zero star I would, Shelby was awfully rude to me for no reason. When I asked for a sample she eyed me head to toe and the amount of foundation sample she gave me wouldn’t even cover my nose. She quickly got rid of me and started helping others who was white. She even offered to help them try on the foundation with different shades. I just don’t get why she was being rude to me just cause the way I was dressed and looked?
I just went here yesterday on the 3rd, I wanted to come in and buy a few things but when me and my sister were swacthing makeup, this lady that looked like Sinister with very black short hair and I think she was a manager she was dressed up all in black she kept following us and it made us feel very uncomfortable because were just trying to shop and try on stuff but than theirs employees following us and we just decided to leave and shop at another makeup store. The employees should be a lot nicer, not racist, and not prejudice customers.
I just wanted to take the time out to make a review on this store because the 2 ladies who helped me were PHENOMENAL. I hate that I didn’t get their names because I wanted to let the manager of the store know via telephone. Moving on, I was at this Sephora this past Saturday Evening. I had been looking for a concealer that works for me for the past years and I finally found it with 2 of the employees help. The first employee recommended to me the brand, TWO FACED and she then called another employee over to help match my skin tone. Note: I am an African American female and has never been matched so perfectly before in my life. Fast forward, I have been wearing this concealer for the past 2 days-and I absolutely love this brand, love the full coverage and love how it hides my dark circles! Great recommendation from the both of you and thank you so much for your expertise. I am so happy! Oan, the first lady that I mentioned also helped me find a great substitute for the blush that I really wanted but it was out of stock. I appreciate your time and efforts!
Got yelled at by the store manager for returning something I couldnt return bcz of covid. What point do 30 yr old store managers try to make by having a loud n obnoxious voice? I prefer male mgrs who dont need to prove anything. Maybe she was insecure. Poor girl. Will not shop at sephora again.
Awful customer service! First time seeing Sephora with arrogant beauty consultants. There were 2 ladies who was asking me if I need a help, when I said yes, they gave me an attitude. Another cashier lady yelled at me, when I forgot to grab my perfume. So disappointed, bhe!
The absolute worst. You will get more respect and better service at the welfare office. Perhaps because I went in wearing my jogging pants, but I left there feeling insulted and humiliated. The employee Luis kept watching and staring. Why do they have security cameras if they are going to follow you around? Why do they have to be so obvious? The items I purchased from there I am planning on returning and go to Nordstrom where they are professional.
This Sephora location does not help customers at all. They’re either ignoring you or standing around doing nothing. Plus they’re rude! I went today and left after 5 mins! The last time I went to this location around Christmas time, only had one employee, she was short and had pretty hazel eyes!! She was the best! So helpful! I haven’t see her since then. Now hands down the worst location! :(
Absolutely terrible!!!! ! They treat their customers so poorly. I received a straightener from there that was 150.00 upon opening the straightener it did not heat on one side. I brought back to the store and they refused to take it back. The manager and lady working at the counter didnt even want to help improve the experience. While waiting two over people in line had problems with items from sephora..Will not purchase Anything from there again!
I would give them no stars if I could. Horrible, horrible service. My cousin and I came early to see if someone could help us. We werent even greeted. I had to ask fo help. Once someone came she didnt even seem like she wanted to help. Didnt bother to do skin care, where as in other sephoras they do skin routine and then make up. She seemed like she was in a rush to get us out of there instead of trying to help us buy any product. Never going back again.
They are open for in-store shopping however they are not giving out samples. But they sure are tooting the fact that you can return your products within 30 days. But I’m not the kind of person that likes to buy some thing and then return it because I didn’t like it when there are usually samples available.
10/07/2019 I went in to look for Tom Ford Anthracite fragrance I was greeted by this heavy set girl who said they dont sell that there anymore, I over heard a lady asking for a fragrance for her husband so I spoke up and suggested a few I was familiar with, she mentioned she was looking for something on the sweeter side, so I suggested Tom Fords Noir extreme which then saphora employee interrupted and said that was not a sweet fragrance, I said Im sorry but its a sweet fragrance it has vanilla and cinnamon and I own it, which she still insisted and said no its not .If your employees are going to argue with the customer I highly suggest you properly train them.She was rude, customer is always right which in this case I really was. I walked out and headed to Nordstrom where I bought a fragrance there.
They dont deserve even 1 star, because or the rudest, the most-unprofessional employee there - Mary. While I was looking for someone to consult me with a shade of foundation, she passed by me 2 times, not offering to help. Then I got a box with foundation and opened it to make sure it is not empty. This rude woman comes to me and starts yelling that I can not open anything. I explained that Im going to purchase it and this is why I opened it to make sure it is not empty. Then I asked for help with other stuff and she refused to help. Spending money at a LVMH store should be fun, not an unpleasant experience like the one I had.
I generally dont give a rating of two or one unless it has been bad experience. This Sephora store has been pretty rude unfortunately to me twice. Poor customer service. Its very hard to get help in this store. Most of the time, I walk out without purchasing items from this store.
Very polite and knowledgeable staff- I was born with some minor eye problems, and my eyes water anytime Im in bright light or sunshine. Id given up on finding a truly waterproof mascara years ago; as everything I tried turned me into a panda bear (& not in a cute way)...But then a friend of mine announced her wedding date- and I wanted lavish lashes for at least that wonderful occasion.Unfortunately I cannot name a specific girl, as several consulted and advised me, but they were all far more earnest and savvy than most employees. I was quickly given several brand recommendations, and eventually settled on a famous brand I hadnt tried before- and it worked like magic. I tried it on the next day and it lasted the entire day- a perfect color with noticeable length! Best of all, no one tried to feed me bamboo!The store is very clean and well stocked, and there are displays and samples everywhere. The staff are all friendly professionals who arent afraid to consult with you and each other to make sure you find exactly what youre looking for. Definitely 5 out of 5 stars!
As someone who has worked in cosmetics before most of your employees should be a lot better at color matching foundations. This is the third time Ive been matched to peachy pink undertones when I have olive skin. Also to actually get any help finding products is difficult as well. I went in during the middle of the day on a weekday there were several employees chatting in an empty store, and I asked them where a product was -not one answered. It wouldnt have been that difficult to say the product is offered online, and not in stores like I found out later.
Its about a million dollars for even their trial sized items. Also, it took me a while to find someone to ask for assistance because either everyone was busy with customers or engrossed in personal conversations.However, they do carry quality products and just about everything youll need (on the high-end of things). So be prepared to kiss your cash goodbye, while walking out with a teeny-tiny bag. 💸
If you ever stop at the Sephora at woodfield and need help go to Cali she’s the best Sephora associate. Super helpful and amazingly kind. She deserves to be upgraded to supervisor of the store. She’s super caring for all the customers and makes sure you have an awesome experience. Because of her kindness and helpfulness I will continue to come to this location. The Sephora associates name is Cali she is awesome! Best customer service ever. Sephora needs more people like her!
The woodfield location: There are way too many employees in at the same time and there is barely enough space in the perfume isle to begin with. Its super awkward. I dont know why but they follow you around and stare like youre gonna steal something. Every single time i go in. I hate this location. Id rather stick to a classier area because you can tell this location has trash customer service experience.
Would not give any stars. Worst worst worst customer service ever left pretty upset. Went to call customers service over the phone they told me I could exchange a product with out a receipt. I go back to the store and turns out “I can’t get it because I didn’t not buy it at a Sephora that was not in a JcPenny” but after going back and forth for a bit they FINALLY get their manager and ALL OF A SUDDEN they can return the money. I get asked my phone number and information and until she has every details she tells me “oh we can only give to you on a gift card!” Literally wasted my time. I’m just bothered that they don’t go out of their way for paying customers to try to resolve the issue or help you out. Never coming back to Sephora. Ulta is way better and has better rewards program.
Store told me that they wouldnt do my beauty consult because they were busy which is understandable but instead of letting me book for later they told me I would have to spend ANOTHER $50 even though I was using the card policy they told me at the front when I got there. I like their selection but their customer service or store policy is just shady as heck. If you have other options I suggest going elsewhere.
This location was clean and had testers of all the products I wanted to try. However, I’m giving it 4 stars because I felt like the cashier was rushing me when I was asking about the BI rewards. She also didn’t offer me a sample but my friend who was checked out by someone else received 2 samples.
On June 3 2019 11:30am, I came to Sephora Woodfield (5 Woodfield shopping center store E 329 Schaumburg,IL 60173) to shop. As I was looking around, i took some pictures because my friends asked me to buy a couple things for them and I wanted to make sure I got them the right things. A staff member approached me and asked me to delete all the pictures. I am not sure if this is your policy that customers cannot take pictures of the products. I have been shopping at Sephora for years and a Sephora Rouge member. I have never had an issue like this before but at this store in Chicago. The staff was extremely rude that makes me feel like i was being profiled and discriminated against. If it is your policy that customers cannot take pictures in the store, your employees could’ve handled the situation a lot better. They even went as far as making me go into my Recently Deleted folder to delete all the pictures, I have never been more humiliated in my life. I will definitely never shop at that store again.
Got there Sunday around 1pm and it was fast to get someones attention. but the lady who was helping us was not in the best of moods and not very helpful. Patty was good at first but then her energy and patience was not there right away. Either way there are plenty of products and good selection of things to consider. It is also conveniently inside the mall. If you know what youre getting this is the place to be.
I LOVE LOVE make up and Im always trying to buy new makeup, skincare, or other beauty products. I am a frequent shopper at the Sephora at Woodfield mall. But I stared noticing that some of the girls there were all giving me different answers to returns or exchanges or if I would ask questions a few girls would have attitude and were not very helpful. I have never experience a business that the employees would get mad because someone goes to buy or look into new products. It has gotten to a point that every time I go they follow me around like if I am going to steal something, when I am going to pay they give me attitude and during the sale I bought a lot of things, however I get allergic reactions to makeup or skin care and unfortunately I have to either exchange or return, but this last time I was told by the cashier girl that I wont be able to return or exchange for future purchases. When I called the place were they give you a report to why I was told this they told me that this particular Sephora store has requested that I wont be able to do so anymore. This is ridiculous and I think due to the bad experience I will probably not even buy anything at Sephora anymore. This is sad, but I am a customer that buys what I love and its upsetting that this store has such horrible workers here.
One of the workers found an empty mascara box and automatically assumed it was me and my friends but it wasnt. for the rest of the time they kept following around the store and kept talking to eachother. also they wouldnt stop looking at us. me and my friends got super pissed we were just trying to shop. i look at one worker and she just started laughing at me. when we were leaving the store. the worker who was by the exit was saying goodbye have a nice day, stay out of trouble
I thought that maybe going early on a weekday I would be able to get great help, advice, and service. As I walked in, one of the girls clearly saw me, made eye contact and walked away from me..seconds later I hear her asking other people if they need any help!! All the girls were watching you like a hawk, but none willing to help. Like if they knew I was going to end up being a waste of time! For a mall like Woodfield, it is sad they have associates that are not welcoming or helpful. Will not go back here. You are better off ordering online.
Obnoxious, conceited, arrogant women work here who think they own the place. They forget theyre hourly workers working for the customer. Women please know that no matter how much makeup you put on your face you still look like shhh. Please have some class and tone down the snottyness.
Claimed a reward for some ceramic jars. Came shattered, cut my hand open and bled everywhere, called customer service. She (Lorna) called me slicing my palm open from the damaged product an inconvenience and gave me 200 points for an apology. Sephora has the worst customer service.
The old lady here with long blonde horse hair is extremely rude and annoying and bothers me every time I’m here and so does Priscilla. Both of them don’t know anything and come up to you being really annoying. The makeup selection is good , but very poor customer service
The only reason i keep shopping at this location is because of the selection of specific brands i cant find anywhere else.Everytime ive been here, ive NEVER been asked if i needed help and the associates are less than friendly. Today i was basically scolded because i showed the girl at the register the barcode of a coupon instead of the email.They could definitely use some work on customer service.
I made 2 appointments for this past Saturday for my sister and I to get our makeup done for an event. I called on Friday to confirm my appointments just to make sure everything was set. When I got to Sephora on Saturday morning they said I only made 1 appointment and could only take 1 of us. I told them I called and even showed them the call on my phone and the MUA said she could not help me as she was not there Friday. The MUA said to wait and she might do my makeup after she was done with my sisters. Half way through my sisters makeup she said she couldnt do it! I wasted my time and they wouldnt even try to get my makeup done. I stormed out of there and went to MAC which they were also fully booked, BUT they were willing to do my makeup. They even took 1 of their clients a little later to accommodate me!! I shouldve booked with MAC in the first place! I wont say that I wont shop at Sephora anymore, but not the Woodifeld location!!
It’s sad to see that this location has such bad reviews but I strongly agree with all of them the girls that work there have terrible attitudes and act as if they are greater then anyone that walks in because they work at Sephora which they are not everyone is equal and I have been treated very badly at this location only but I don’t go to this one often I go to the one in Old Orchard and the girls that work there love helping people and are very friendly and make you feel comfortable

2022-01-12Went in looking for new lip ointment/balm and hand cream. Asked for help since the smells in there are overwhelming and Im 7 months pregnant. Got help immediately which was great. The product itself, not so much. The items I purchased seem to be drying me out more than my normal items I used daily. Paid about $50 for 2 not so great products.

2022-05-31I was assisted by two wonderful ladies ♥️ they helped me with the products I got from the store. Kiyana and another lovely girl They know the brands and what I need. There was one though who was not that accommodating and kinda rude to my friend. Anyhow 😊😊. If you like quality make ups , moisturizers, perfumes and the likes you must check out Sephora! ♥️

2022-05-07I went in needing help finding makeup for my wedding in October. My knowledge of makeup is very limited and Dominique was great at explaining the basics and helping me find the best brands that matched what I wanted for a natural look. When I got home and showed my friend who is will be helping me with my makeup, she was very impressed and said it was perfection! Thank you Dominique for all your help! I can’t wait to try it all out!

2022-05-07I’ve never worn foundation. But since the mask mandate has lifted I figured it was time to try something new. Of course I didn’t know my shade and I was worried about spending a lot of money on something that will either make me look like a ghost or have unintentional blackface. Not exactly the look I’m going for.I heard about Sephora’s foundation color matching. And I decided to go there and have them color match me rather than risk buying a foundation I can’t even try before I buy.Mind you, I get the anxiety that we as women feel when we enter a beauty store when we don’t feel as beautiful compared to everyone else. This was no different. As soon as I walked in I could feel myself panic. I had no idea who to ask or where to find the brand that I was looking for. It could have been my own anxiety but a lot of the other customers and some employees tend to look down on you if you don’t look a certain way. I was about ready to give up when a nice older women (I didn’t get her name) asked if I needed help. I told her the brand I was looking for and she said was wasn’t familiar with the brand (I think she was the representative for Dior makeup) but she asked another employee, Brielle, to help me.Now let me tell you, Brielle was the most patient and kind person I’ve ever met at a makeup store. She showed me where the foundation I wanted was and she color matched me with like three different foundations. She gave me wipes to remove the swatches and walked me around almost the whole store. I asked her so many questions, which she answered with a smile. (I assume as she was wearing a mask) Basically she helped me feel less clueless and more confident. My foundation fits me perfectly. (I got the Patrick Starr One/Size powder foundation and the BB cream, highly recommend) I’m happy to spend $80 on it so long as it matched me. (But seriously Sephora, I am so poor and I just wanna buy more!!)I will definitely be back to buy more once I run out and thanks to Brielle, I am confident I’ll be getting the right shade in like 3 different brands. (Also she helped me sign up for the rewards program and I got a birthday gift because it was my birthday month!)

2022-06-19Very disappointed in the knowledge of the staff. We had our phones out and both me and my wife were both told you cant take pictures when we were just looking up ingredients on our phones, so they assumed. My wife has allergies and because shes Chinese she doesnt understand what all the ingredients are and she needed to research. Yet I see pictures on here from other users from inside the store posted. If that is a rule thats very unfortunate. We have decided to take our business somewhere else.

2022-03-22Stopped in mall location to pick up a product. The JCPenny associate was helpful in directing me to another location in the mall that should have it.When I walked in the stand alone store the greeters were unpleasant and unhelpful. Zero alternatives suggested and so I walked out. Ordering online as I usually do. Skip the inperson visit to this location deep in the mall.
