Prices are going crazy on the gim bap. Used to be $1.25 a roll then got annoying at $2.50 but hey... pandemic rt... at $3.50 with no change to the ingredients... fuhgeddaboutit. Ill get Sushi if Im paying that much.Sorry dummies, but thats ridiculous to a Korean that knows how easy it is to make this... but doesnt want to spend the time.
Only one casher for customers and answers for customers questions on the phone make customers feel uncomfortable. Also, prices are a little more than other markets. I guess no choice closer than other markets . It is sad 😢even though I still have to shop for korean groceries because no time for drive to other market sometimes.
They allow me to order from there outside bakery that delivers every day by noon without giving payment till pick up! Easy in and out parking. Very helpful if you have any questions and one of there chefs and fresh sushi maker speaks Spanish and is extremely helpful and patient.Fresh food is always available and they have a wide range ofJapanese, Chinese and Korean delicacies!!! Besides the Korean bakery that delivers everyday they also have magnificent imported teas, fruits, ramen soups, cookies, desserts, ice cream, pot stickers, noodles and a beauty section. It is Korean owned and in the same shopping plaza is a yogurt/smoothie place with various and exotic choices popular is the bubble tea also owned by these people.
Update 5/30/19Theres a new sushi section in the back. They have sushi/sashimi available in the refrigerated section, and also take phone orders for freshly made sushi. They have very good prepared foods, including soups, side dishes, and meat/fish. The place is very clean and well kept. I know some Korean markets feel cramped and tight, but this place is very spacious.
My favorite little hidden gem inside the Seoul Supermarket is the amazing kitchen that prepares a variety of traditional fare like: banchan (side dishes), kkanpunggi (sweet and spicy lollipop chicken), and chapchae (stir-fried glass noodles with veggies). Its where I go when I need Korean food catered out for large gatherings. For party trays, place your order at least 24 hours in advance.
There is a lot of great produce and other products here. Like many Korean groceries stores, they carry products from nearly every region across east Asia. They even make precooked/catering foods here. It is a good place here. It is convenient to get to especially if you are in Buffalo Grove, Long Grove, Kildeer, Deer Park, Palatine, or Wheeling.
I used to use it frequently because it made the food delicious.. One of the customers saw the smell of the side dishes while opening the lids and stopped.. I visited again today after a long time and bought dinner~ The gimbap I ate in the car was very delicious~! !^^ I look forward to other side dishes too~

2022-01-01Love the instant coffee! They had some bakery items that, was good; soft & have cream inside kinda taste like vanilla. The store looks small from outside but its not so small when your inside. Great store, they mostly speak English & have the aisle labeled in Korean & English. I would recommend this place, if your in the mood to be adventurous or you know their products.

2020-06-07Nice place to get your essential Korean snacks, rice cakes, gochujang, kimchi, side dishes, rice, produce, meats were few and far between, etc...usually there is a bakery, but none here. Still good place for when you got that craving for Korean food!

2022-08-06It was weird that they asked for cash for catering and asked us to pay for grocery separately. When trying to pay with cash, the cashier refused $20 bills, saying they were worn and it could be fake. Hmm…So weird. So trying to pay with a credit card, she said we needed to pay with two separate cards, one for catering and the other for grocery. It was so weird. Not sure it was training issue or some other issue with catering vs grocery. So weird….

2022-04-24I have been buying side dishes and soup twice per week here, recently, one of side dishes I bought had very poor quality w/ Yeon-geun-jorim(I tried one of few dozen pieces, but could not chew because it was too hardened, felt pain on the theeth, actually I have healthy teeth and Ive never complained food quality at any restaurant / food market in my life, but I felt I cannot eat this becuase theeth would be damaged, at first, I thought it is just $5 food and gave up complaining, but wanted to give feedback to the market to avoid same complaining from other customers, I visited here next day by driving half hour and explained to the register, but she looked upset and explained it has normal quality? she put it into the garbage can, so I expected return/ replacement, but did not accept the return/replacement, how should I do? very bad feeling, I regret to give feedback and went back to the home w/o anything, do not want go to this market anymore, check the food quality carefully before buying, if not sure, dont buy.

2021-11-03I love coming here, I always find what I need here. Prices are about the same I would say as opposed to other Asian grocers. I have yet to try their hot foods but whenever I do come here, which is often, I always see other patrons with hot food items. The soup seems to be popular. Service is always quick and friendly!

2022-04-12Go to place for Korean catering! And whenever we’re too lazy to cook, we buy the already cooked Korean food in the back. So we are basically here every week lol

2021-09-05An excellent local KOREAN grocery market: authentic Korean food/ small housewares, reasonably priced, quite a good selection of prepared foods, such as marinated meat/fish. I LOVE the many choices of rice, esp. healthy rice grains, grown in the USA!. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

2021-08-14Great store. Their prepared meals are restaurant quality (well, at least to this non-Korean). Delicious sushi rolls, soups, seafood pancakes and tofu. I will be back!
