Didnt like checkout options I had five items had to be in line in the motor cart while four others had loaded carts.
Prices are super-high. Heavy Whipping cream over $8 here.Found at Fresh Thyme for $5.

Decent store, although the inventory could definitely use some work. Staff are always quick to help when needed most of the time thankfully. Shopping cart storage is quite organized and parking is decent. When it comes to food, if you see something you like, Id highly advise you grab what you like while its still there before its gone because the popularity with this place is quite high, especially with it being next door to an outdoor movie theater! Seems theyre trying their best to keep up 😅

Great place to shop, it is totally a different experience than when I shop in Cahokia. The experience may be different because of the size of the store. I was here and needed to find a few items, the nice young man walked me to both places where the items where. Thing about excellent customer service, especially a young man taking time to serve an senior citizen.😊😊😊
I just discovered Schnucks has a second unmentioned Senior Citizen hour between 1 & 2PM. Nice!
Every time I go there is get worse. Terrible prices, Terrible employees, Terrible everything. Departments closing early, employees still in the department before its closing hour but cannot be bothered to help you. Specifically the deli department on 9-15-2021 at 6:53pm. Other times I have been yelled at for not knowing the self check out well enough for melons. Been pushed or bumped out of the way by stockers. Most times carts are not available. Customers seem to trash the store and no one cleans up. It is a mess. Whoever is in charge should be ashamed of themselves. My business is now going g to ruler and target (since schnucks wants to charge more anyway)
When I have the time I drive farther to go to this Schnucks. Better selection, cleanliness, better meat, friendlier employees. I live in Cahokia which has a Schnucks and just a few miles from my house and I do go in there often only because I work a lot, but when I have a full weekend off the Belleville store. Sure, I’ll drive 15 miles versus 2 miles but it’s worth it!
I was there this morning and I had about 25 items I was told that I wasn’t allowed to use the self checkout because I had too many items even though there was no one else using self check out and there were 3 cashiers and 20 people waiting in line. How does this even make sense? I told the lady I wanted to use self checkout because it was easier for me with having kids with me than waiting in line, she didn’t care. So while this lady was worried about the rules rather than using common sense she wasn’t wearing a mask, which was posted on the door that it’s mandatory for Schnucks employees.
Had to wait for the deli to open. At least a dozen people waiting for service. Usually have good luck there

Overall its a good place to shop. However when it came to checking out, not our cashier but the one in front of her was making my girlfriend feel like she was trying to steal. She had 4, 12 pack cases of soda which she told our cashier already she had 4 of so it would just be easier to scan the same case 4 times like most people do. The cashier in front told my gf that she had 3 more at the bottom of the cart my gf said, I know I already told our cashier then proceeds to tell our cashier the same thing that she already told her and that she already told OUR cashier. My girlfriend is grabbing stuff out of the cart then starts telling her what about this. My gf finally had enough and said, Excuse me, Im not done grabbing stuff out of my own cart Ill put it up there when I get to it. The store is a great place but that cashier was very annoying and very self assuming and really made my girlfriend feel like she thought that she was trying to steal for absolutely no reason. We may just find a different store to shop at.

I went in to look at ice cream and wound up getting one of those spicy Charlies pizzas. These things are amazing and even better when you add Franks. The only reason Im knocking off a star is because of all the dirty looks you get when youre not wearing a mask. Never mind whether youre vaccinated or not they still want you to wear a stupid mask and thats just not going to happen
I just went to schnucks to get some items and they were moving so fast for how many people were there. They have been moving VERY fast and I am completely satisfied with this location.

Always have all of the things for partys and of course your monthly food shopping.
They have certain items but there lines sometimes can be long.
I shop here for things I cant get at Ruler or Aldi. Otherwise, I wouldnt. The aisles are narrow, which stinks when you have to use a scooter to shop. And Im not sure how they can call themselves the friendliest store in town. Not in my opinion.

Another successful Christmas @ Schnucks Belleville West. It was swamped till closing time, but there was plenty of staff including cashiers and employees even management to direct the line, so checkout was fast and efficient with lots of staff going out of their way to help customers! Congrats to everyone on a job well done! :) On another note theres still lots of customers shopping without a mask on or wearing them improperly when face masks are clearly required by state mandate indoors and indicated as so on the front door when you come in...
You customer service is really mean and rude. And they pick me out to intimidate and mistreat. Bye Felicia.

Tonight was horrible. 3 baggers crowding around a check lane conversation about zodiac signs. Not assisting all check lanes (only 2 were open). The 1st checker was bombarded with customers, while the 2nd checker was chatting it up with the 3 baggers. Bad customer service on their part. Its definitely a change of pace in Schnucks, and its not good. This grocer use to be the place to shop. The quality of product and service was why people shopped with Schnucks, now its a hot mess.
This trip was very bad the pricing on the shelf was totally wrong and unorganized. Staff not helpful at all. Used to be my favorite store.
I enjoy my Schnucks store. Its always clean and stocked. The cashiers are pleasant along with the baggers. I think overall its ran pretty good.
This Schnucks has to be the busiest Schnucks Ive seen. The staff works with a fast, friendly efficiency that is rare today in the grocery store business. Keep up the good work guys I appreciate you.
This store always seems to feel cluttered and dirty. The associates are not friendly at all. I have never been greeted and when I use the check out with a cashier they barely say hi. When I use the self checkout the associate just stands behind her counter staring at me, no smile, no cleaning the pin pads, scanner, etc... Most other stores disinfect the register areas often. I have had to wait in a long line often and I have never seen them clean this area. I only shop at this store when I have to, last minute items, etc...otherwise Ill make a point to drive a further distance to a different store to do my regular shopping.
Went to deli tonight about 7:15-7:30 and they were closing down. Sign on counter said that they were open til 9 pm. Lady behind counter told me, very snootingly, that they were closing up. When I pointed out the sign, she told me that they close whenever they want. Lost my business at this deli, will go to Swansea or Carlyle Ave. Schnucks for deli from now on. Reason I gave it 2 stars was other employees were much nicer

Most of the checkers here are the most unfriendly people & the manager is even worse! When the virus was running rampant I was in the store & the checker didn’t wipe the belt or the credit card machine after the person ahead of me. When I questioned her, she said she didn’t have time, it’s done once an hour or so and that if I had a complaint talk to the manager! So when I got home I called the manager & his response was, well if all of you people didn’t shop so much we wouldn’t have to worry about cleaning! He continued to tell me that he has enough food & groceries at his house to last 90 days & I should consider doing the same! I told him I am a senior citizen & I also take care of an elderly lady. My ending comment to him was ... your wish is my command - I will NEVER shop in this store ... and I have not!

Update: Generally go here for my groceries. I have a child with food allergies so the gluten free isle is nice. However they keep changing the products and my child is allergic to the newer items. Will have to shop elsewhere to accommodate his needs.
The store is usually kept very clean, and employees are very friendly. The aisles are narrow which means it takes awhile to get through the store since youre constantly trying not to bump into someones else. They definitely dont have as much selection as some other stores, but this is usually our go to grocery store.
Nice store. Nice staff. Friendly. Cashiers dont seem to be trained adequately so, service is usually slow add mud but, friendly. This location seems to hire extensively from a local adult assisted living facility near by ... The old guy who doesnt know when to cuss and when not to is my favorite (havent seen him in a couple weeks though). As long as Im not time crunched or, in pain; I enjoy doing here.

I dont understand during the busy time there is on average 3 to 4 lanes open and the self checkout open . The self checkout has people with full carts that take longer and the regular lanes for almost back up to the pharmacy . I done with the west end Schnucks . With the only grocery store on the Westend Schnucks need to set up their customers service. They are plenty busy to pay for service to their customers .
They’re was absolutely no social distancing Saturday evening. People we’re running around as normal. Except check out, nobody in store supervising people. Also young man at butcher counter doesn’t know how to wrap meat.
Ive always split my business between Sams Club, Shop n Save, and Schnucks. Prices are ok, selection is always good, employees are always friendly, store is clean.However, since Shop n Save shutdown the customer service at Schnucks has gone down the toilet (not any of the workers fault!!!). They never have enough checkouts open during peak hours, to the point of being ridiculous. Then they added the stupid self checkout.They are luck they are the only full grocery store on this end of town. Im looking hard at making freaking Wally World my next destination, and it hurts me to say that.
Easy in and easy out...of the store and the parking lot. Great friendly, knowledgeable staff. They also carry the sliced Tillamook cheddar cheese I like so much. I dont like the lay out of the store, but three or four more visits and I should have that down pat as well.
Guy in the meat department was awesome and very personable. The women working the register was extremely rude. Enough so the bagger apologized for her. I miss shop n save.
I am impressed with the choices and selection at there meat counter. Especially impressive given it was late on a Saturday night.

I love Schnucks-items, prices, variety, location. They just need to open more registers and some of the cashiers could be a little friendlier. A smile wont hurt. Im the customer and Im smiling. The least you could do is smile as well.
These workers are not friendly to people with pre-existing conditions, I have horrible ashma and not been able to wear a mask during the pandemic. I went in there with my husband so we could get dinner and they ignored us like the plague. As soon as we walked to the deli we were told we were not able to be helped. I walked out upset and disappointed. I know that covid-19 is real but I also know my limitations at this time, and most stores do not have a problem with me. My advice? You ask for the proof because some of us actually have problems that prevent us from doing certain things. I will not be returning to this store

Always friendly service. I always get my fish cooked here which is a really good deal, because they fry it for free. I love their fresh meat department and deli department. You can get exactly what you need.
Its my local grocery store and usually have what I want and need and friendly service.
Wanted pork steaks that are on add. They had roasts, none sliced. There was a meat cutter behind working the fresh meats case but apparently offering to cut a roast into steaks for a customer is too menial a task.
This Schnucks store is very convenient for me and offers a wide variety, but more than anything, I would especially like to commend them for hiring such dedicated employees like the young man who bags groceries named Jonathan; He is super nice and courteous! Not only does he go out of his way to be nice to the customer, he will point out to other employees proper ways to act- he once told a cashier he would walk the long way around to take an item back to the the shelf because going through the checkout lane along side customers would be rude; What an inspiration!!! Too bad there are still so many people in this world that go out of their way to be rude to others whether its through insulting comments in public or social media- they could learn a lot from Jonathon; Thanks again, Jonathon for all you do and keep up the great work!!!!
Great selection as always. Although it is very crowded today because they are being super careful with having only one line to access the registers. But dont worry, it goes fast.
Its always clean and well organized. Also, their deli and seafood department is really good. I drive a distance to come back because they fry my fish perfectly.

Its always crowded. Long checkout lines. Pharmacy is always swamped. Been to their Pharmacy 8 times now. Seven of them there was a problems. Ranging from 5 hour wait time to wrong prescriptions. Yes I said wrong prescriptions. Not even my name on bottle. Someone elses medicine. They do not have enough help since Shop n Save closed down. They are swamped!

I love shopping at Schnucks Belleville store because the employees at that location treat customers like family. The store is always well stocked and produce is always fresh. Its close to my home and convenient for me to get there.
Customer service from” Billy “ of the Deli Department was very disappointing. Billy was very RUDE and didn’t help at all. I understand that during this COVID EPIDIMIC things can get a little difficult, but,Customer Service should be priority.
3.8....decent grocery store but some prices are too high for certain items...items in which i can go to other grocery stores on the area and get cheaper such as milk and eggs...you can go to Rulers and get them half the proce times 2. They have great deals at times and some prices are great for certain items. They do not sale enough organic items like Fresh Thyme does. But overall ots a decent store to do grocery shopping. They finally have self-checkout!!!
I know yall did not close shop n save to keep the schnucks open. You all could have took the shop n save. The lines are always long and its never enough employees on staff . And the store is too small for all the people you all service. Its 2k19 please do better. But if you knew better you would purchased the old shop n save at least its bigger

The rewards system sucks. It says I’m not in the system about half the time. The customer service desk was unable to correct the problem, after I stood in line unscanned all my stuff, then rescanned. What a pain. They never have enough checkouts open. Always gotta wait in line. The produce is poor quality, watermelon are pale, tasteless, peaches hard and crunchy? Yep, gross. Go elsewhere.

Price gauging soup is practically DOUBLE the price at schnucks than wal-mart. I avoided Walmart initially during the covid shutdown then after talking to family and friends about prices at schnucks vs anywhere else I found out that schnucks has price gauged big time on , waffles, frozen pizza, ALL SOUP and bacon. That is just what I found when comparing schnucks to Walmart or Aldis. Gas stations have better prices on food than schnucks right now.I will NEVER go to schnucks again as they have taken advantage of the public while not enforcing social distancing very effectively.

Ive been doing the bulk of my grocery shopping here since 1992. The employees are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful and the food is high quality & fresh.
The meat counter was fantastic!! Couldnt believe all the choices. So much more than the Swansea or Fairview Heights location.

This store has the rudest and most disrespectful workers. They don’t care about the thier customers at all. We go there daily, sometimes multiple times a day, and they treat us like criminals. They accused me stealing something and would not apologize after they found out that I took nothing.

2022-02-15John is the best butcher in town. Super friendly checkout staff up front. Love our bakery and the deli staff too. Place can be tough to navigate when it gets real busy, but overall probably my favorite place to get groceries.

2022-07-04You guys need to get self check out for the instacart shopper with 20 items or less together . It’s not fair to us nor the customer where shopping for having to stand in the main extra long line because self check out doesn’t take the instacart shopping cards. Get it together.

2022-01-16I placed an online order for curbside pick up. When I got there I waited for five minutes, which is fine I have no problem with a long wait time. But then I saw my order was marked as “complete” when I hadn’t received it. I called the store and asked what happened. They said an employee was coming out now. So I hung up. Waited another three minutes and watched the employee go to another car that came into a curbside spot and then go back inside. So I called the store again to say I still hadn’t gotten my order even though it was marked as completed. The lady on the phone was so rude and snappy and said two employees came out looking for me but couldn’t find me. I finally saw an employee come out with my order and I waved and she gave me my order finally. Why did they even mark it as completed if it clearly wasn’t completed? Horrible customer service.

2022-02-18The statement of employees cleaning carts could not more false. The dont even have hand wipes for the handles out anymore. Hand sanitizer is always empty. The store is using the covid to mask the elimination good help. They want to close departments early ,overcharge and overload deli and meats and bakery items. I am very unhappy with the quality of this pre-wrapped food at the schnucks lately . Ive had many times of still items or food turning bad when I get home for an expensive price. Customer is last priority at the schnucks I am not happy about this. I feel as if I am treated like this is what you got so deal with it No schnucks because there is other stores to shop at. I probably wont come into this schnucks for a while . My cost up and quality is down.

2022-03-24Only 2 lanes open and the line was way back to the milk. You want a business and you dont hire enough people to check your customers out. I have always liked Schnucks but we moved out of state for a few years and we just moved back and I have 2nd thoughts about going back.
