Salvage One is an absolute gem of a venue! With incredible light and vintage furniture and other items available for your use everywhere, this 3 story warehouse is unique as can be and a playground for photographers (and your event!)! Not only is the antique store aspect neat, the exposed brick makes for a beautiful backdrop with just the right amount of character and the high ceilings make the space feel like a wonderland to be explored. Plus, the staff is kind and easy to work with. Dream come true. We cant wait to photograph here again!
Attended a Concert by Candlelight Jazz evening here last night. What an enchanting evening and a fantastic venue. It can only be described as enchanting and magical - the outdoor space was beautiful, filled with hundreds of candles. The indoor space is eclectic and filled with fabulous antiques for sale.
Recently went here for engagement photos. Unfortunately, our photographer was running late but salvage one really went, what I considered to be, above and beyond. Rather than charging us for the time we reserved, they did not start charging us until our photographer arrived and were very generous in offering us extra time to stay later when they most definitely did not have to. I highly recommend giving them your business! Thank you Salvage One!
Very fun antique shop- large selection of furniture and one of a kind pieces. Great wedding venue (they were setting up for one while we were there!) also, my friend proposed to his girlfriend here, and the staff were very kind, friendly, warm and accommodating to help my friends dream come true! Thanks to them, we had a great place despite rain changing our plans!!!
This venue is great! I recently choose this venue for an event with 300+ people. The quirky wall displays and items placed everywhere really make for a neat atmosphere. All of our guests were totally into it and we recieved numerous complements! The staff was also great to work with. We worked with Brandy and she was so helpful every step of the way.
Its a weird venue. Its interesting, but the first floor is an antique store which is odd for an event venue. The second floor is much better for an event. The bars were nice, but a bit slow. The staff isnt the best at handling loud guests, they ended up adding to the situation rather than helping anything. Overall it was an interesting experience...
Fantastic place, 100% accomodating, great venue with multiple floors.when we had our wedding there for our son, it felt like we owned the place. can do anything you want in any room or floor.great place, and very unique. also, they are acomodating on bringing in alcohol and they work with you to get you back the unopened bottles to Binneys (highly recommended for alcohol).
When it came for me and my partner to get a venue for our Chicago wedding, we had a list of 20 that eventually got whittled down to 4. We visited them all on the same day and Salvage One instantly charmed us. We knew without question that this is where we wanted our wedding to be and Colleen and the staff there made it as smooth a process as possible. They made sure we caught up on our paperwork, handled last-minute day-of issues as they happened, and throughout the whole process even made us feel like we were the only clients they had (even though their bookings are solid for months on end!). It was a personal touch they gave that made us feel like we picked the right place, and everyone who attended was in awe. Its personality defined our day and we wouldnt trade it for anything else in the world. Thanks, Salvage One!
I was at Salvage One recently for a private event, and not for shopping, but the space is incredible! Rooms and rooms of random salvaged items for your home. The way everything is displayed is very cool and gives off an oddities vibe.If you are looking for a space to hold an event, I would highly recommend Salvage One. Its large and unique!
Was there for a wedding. Reminded me of a hoarders basement. Dark and filthy. If anyone does go, make sure your tetanus shots are up to date just in case there is something that cuts you. No room to move around, No organization of products, way overpriced, $750 for a broken vise.
During the day this multi-level store sells vintage furniture, fixtures and oddities. There are definitely some one-of-a-kind finds to be had but theyre a bit pricey. At night and on the weekends, it turns into a truly unique venue that stands out in the sea of loft spaces. Be sure to check out the backyard space that features a bathtub water fixture.
We visited for a potential wedding venue... to say the least, it certainly is right for the “right” individual. For my wife and I, it couldn’t have been more opposite of who we are. Seemed directly, too eclectic, and chaotic. I guess if you’re into that, it’s right for you... just not us.
I was here for a wedding and it was a very nice, but different experience. The upstairs area is very large and was great for the reception. If you are looking for a slightly different wedding experience I would highly recommend this place. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Expansive and impressive, there are three floors of architectural salvage, furniture and oddities. The interesting twist about Salvage One is that it also serves as a wedding and event venue. Its a very unique take on vintage / salvage. I enjoyed browsing every nook and cranny.
I was invited to a wedding. Yes it’s quirky and different, but I thought the venue was terrible for acoustics and the service was lacking. We were seated with a group of eight far from the bands setup and the only way we could all converse was to scream at one another.
We had been here for a couple of events in the past. They rent out the 2nd floor for events and weddings.Decided to see the rest of the business since we were in the area.If you are rehabbing a building and need vintage hardware, doorknobs, light fixtures, statues, furniture and other eclectic items, this is the place for you. If you would like some really cool furnishings for your house or apartment, youve come to the right place, Its like an enjoyable walk back in time that you can take home with you.If you need a 3 foot high red letter, its only $325.00, but a 8 foot hight red letter will set you back $800.00 Who dosent need 2 10 high wood carved elephants for their entranceway? It would be nice too know the history of some of the items they have for sale. From very small hardware to very large full bars and statues, salvage one is a great place to spend some time exploring.
Attended a wedding here and do not recommend. Cons: We were the last table served. My vegetarian meal of mushroom ravioli was cold. My spouse and another guest at the table had cornish hen, which were hot but raw (ie: there was BLOOD throughout half of it). Unfortunately, my spouse ate it anyway and had diarrhea all the next day. It was about 20 degrees outside and nearly freezing inside Salvage One too. After huddling together for warmth on pews for the ceremony downstairs, guests had to wait around for about 30 minutes to go upstairs for the reception. The upstairs was EVEN COLDER!One gentleman had on a dress shirt and tie, long sleeve sweater, and his winter scarf wrapped around his shoulders. Ladies were less discreet and donned their winter coats. After dinner, I wandered over to the thermostat (about 10 feet from our table), it read 66 degrees and the temperature setting was on 55 degrees!! Insane! Additionally, there is only street parking which is hard to come by. Finally, there was no clear signage or illuminated entrance for the front door and we walked into an office business by mistake. Pros: The staff member at the main desk was helpful and the salads were tasty. I would NOT recommend having your event here and if you do, dress really warm and dont eat!
Always a fan of visiting Salvage One. Such a cool place to find the most random things you didnt know you needed. A massive variety of different items from decor to replacement door hinges. Also can be used a venue for parties or weddings. Definitely recommend checking this place out 👍
Vast array of incredible things. My sister was an avid customer, she first turned me onto it. Just love this place, not only for what one can find, but for the -at least- semi-conservation work they do.I mean, if they didnt salvage the things they do, so many great works, and works of art, would be lost. Cant save every old building, unfortunately, but what can be salvaged--- they are treasures!
I came here for Yelps Chiberia Sendoff and a Hendricks Gin event. Salvage One is an amazing space that offers alot of customization options for events. Ive seen the 2nd floor transformed with a maze of sights - like a hot air balloon and a mysterious creature in a crate...who ultimately fed you drinks - and laid out simply with a party, some tables and a stage for performances. The 1st floor maintains the fun, rustic vibe of the gallery itself - complete with antique furniture and fixtures - and has a nice little courtyard during the spring and summer that opens up the space even more. If youre an event / party planner, you should definitely check this space out. If youre just a party goer, say yes to the invite at Salvage One. You wont regret it.

2022-04-15We sold a beautiful vintage bookshelf made of salvaged wood from an old church in Logan to them so if you need a large bookcase they have one!Ive never been in the store but this review is for the two totally rad guys (I feel bad I forgot their names) they sent to pick it up. Dudes had it apart in less than 20 minutes and were kind, polite and very mindful of our home while deconstructing this monster of a case in a thoughtful way as to preserve it for sale. I have never had any vendors in our home be this nice and seriously look out for our floors, walls, rugs etc. So shout out to their lovely staff.I imagine this is company culture and carries through to the staff in store so we will likely wander in soon!

2021-05-30What an awesome hidden gem in the Chi...wow! Music was excellent . Venue is one of the most romantic....it was a lil cold but the show was only an hour or so....Appreciated that in the courtyard which is outside you cant hear anything on the street...so you can focus on your company and the music....And the antiques are worth a looking at as well

2021-02-24Salvage One Chicago is one of the most unique wedding venues in the midwest. As a photographer, the grounds and interior made amazing and quirky backdrops for my portraits with the couple. If you are looking for a stunning venue with so much character look no further. I highly recommend this amazing Midwest wedding venue!

2022-06-27Pricing I felt was very reasonable. A lot of fun items for me to handle, like old brass door hardware and tools. The 3rd floor was packed with old doors and windows. Great trip. Ill be back

2019-03-26Amazing venue for weddings with antiques everywhere. The whole place has beautiful wooden floors and grand window panes. The third floor holds an entire shop of antiques from foosball tables to block letters to baseball seats. The wedding we had there was comfortable with space, seating, bathrooms, temperature, and wifi. 10/10 would give it a look for your wedding and overall shopping endeavors

2018-04-06This place holds a key to Chicagos rich history. Here youll find an extensive assortment of antique (and unique) pieces of furniture, parts of buildings, doors, chandeliers, scrap metal-turned-art, along with thousands of other gems that have been salvaged from buildings throughout the city. Come here to see appliances, old technology, and artwork almost 100 years old, and found nowhere else. I had a great time exploring this place and seeing things people used in older times. Definitely worth a stop for the curious weekend warrior.Or, get married here! They use this building as a gorgeously unique chapel/reception hall and is sure to satisfy those urban/rustic vibes youve been looking for.
