Be ready to wait more than 6+ hours. Service is awful some coworkers forgot the meaning of COMPASSION. A kid arrive to the E.R hard of breathing it took a long time to take care of him. Parents got tired and end up leaving because they send them back to the waiting area. People coming from the ambulance, an old lady on her 70’s. They just left her there waiting for more than 5+hours she was asking for questions and trying to figure out some answers. The only thing that where able to say I’m SORRY, I DONT KNOW but you need to wait. Finally she call security and he was so nice and able to help her because she was asking to get a cab and go home. But finally an RN ask her some questions and they where able to get her in. Oh by the way my mom after 6 hrs they did a COVID test and X-rays. I left home to change clothes and they call me to see if she took an covid test and what where her results. No body tell you anything at that hospital so how should I know. Are you guys supposed to write everything that is happening? People helping each other because staff would not help them with their needs. So if you are thinking of coming think twice or NOT come at all.
I am totally and utterly disgusted with the way this hospital has treated my sister. She has been in the waiting room for almost 9hours from what could possibly be a broken arm. Ive been on the phone with her listening to her cry in agony for hours. When they finally put her in a room they gave her TYLENOL to ease her 9 hours in pain. What next a bandaid on her possible broken arm and send her on her way? Then charge her 15,000 dollars for said bandaid and Tylenol? This in unexceptable! They are so FN lucky Im in Texas!
Get ready to wait 10 hours for some tylenol. Such a shame the staff genuinely seems not to care. Other posts are very accurate regarding the wait times. If your in pain go somewhere else.Typically visits to the ER are lengthy, but this is just absolutely ridiculous that patients who are in pain have to wait over 10 hours only to be given tylenol and asked to wait more time. By the time a patient is actually seen its going to be over 15 hours waiting in pain and agony. Possibly one of the worst hospitals in illinois. The more severe cases are prioritized. Thats the excuse they keep telling everyone who posts about the wait time. Overall trash hospital patients visit the ER for EMERGENCYs not to wait over 10 hours.
I had a terrific experience at Rush at Oak Park Hospital where I had my surgery. Everyone there made me feel safe and secure and the level of professionalism from check-in through my procedure was outstanding. The nurses and doctors were stellar. I would not hesitate to go back if needed.
Last week I had a procedure done in the O.R. I was so impressed with the care I received from the nursing staff to the doctors. The nurses were professional and yet alot of fun. They really know how to help you relax. I am having another procedure in a few weeks and my anxiety is 0. Thank you for such great care.
Ive gone through Rush Same Day Surgery five times, and this department has never failed to worsen my pain, functionality, and overall quality of life. My foot surgeries entailed recoveries significantly longer than projected, with torturous symptoms that seemed to be post-operative at first, but have been persisting indefinitely and are now a part of my every day living. Not only did I not get any relief from the pain management procedures Ive undergone here, but theyve actually worked in the opposite direction worsening my pain.I will say, however, that there is a fair degree of professionalism. The front desk at Same Day Surgery has been helpful, knowledgeable, and respectful. The staff (nurses, anesthesiologists, etc.) from Pre-Op, Recovery, etc. was friendly. But, I wish they didnt bother patients about payments while being there for a procedure. I think its poor service to demand a payment for a previous procedure while a patient is in Same Day Surgery. Id rather have the admin work dealt with elsewhere such as over a phone call or email.Ultimately, immeasurable pain and suffering has resulted from my treatment at Rush Oak Park Hospital. Before Id been to Rush, Id imagined my pain couldnt get any worse. Rush Hospital did a fine job proving me wrong.
DO NOT take anyone you care about to this Emergency Department. I took my 2 year old son last week with a constant cough and difficulty breathing. We waited over 30 minutes to see anyone, and then waited another 30 minutes at least AFTER triage. Apparently a 2 year old struggling to breathe is not a priority here. We then spent 5 more hours and never saw an actual doctor the entire time--just nurses and a physicians assistant. We were discharged without completely resolving the breathing issue and given several prescriptions to pick up the next day (nothing to take home immediately). My son spiraled the next morning and ended up back in the Emergency Room (Loyola this time thankfully) and was immediately admitted for several days of treatment by actual doctors that physically saw him and recognized the serious trouble he was in.In short, Rush Oak Park has a garbage ER, and I wouldnt take my neighbors dog to this emergency room.
This hospital is is so slow… I’ve been here for a while and just here to get shot done for a dog bite. How could guys be such a big hospital and make all these people wait.. there was someone in so much pain sitting by me and took so long this is ridiculous.. MY LAST TIME COMING HERE .
This hospital dishonors its Hippocratic Oath. Today it took over 4 hours to be seen (8hrs total) in torsion pain; the waiting room called about 1-2 people per hour tho ER was packed. I went only at the direction of my Rush Dr, and even with I was not escalated nor taken seriously. I observed everything very carefully here as it was my first time. The nurses here are incredible; the Doctors here are callous, cavalier, cold and arrogant.I experienced an ovarian cyst rupture which is a gynecological emergency resulting in high fever, nausea and vomiting with side effects for over 12 days and the male Dr could not connect the dots and never once looked me in the eye with an ounce of sincerity - he seemed annoyed at everything. I was sent home with follow-ups that were completely in-comprehensive and unrelated to my diagnosis and pain. The ultrasound technician talked my ear off about her personal business while I was wincing in pain, and she took off in the middle of it to go write down a link she wanted to give me. There is a total lack of professionalism! The way they treat people here is inhumane. They are so obviously desperately understaffed as recent comments also observed. The bathrooms for patients were filthy, full of discarded wipes, urine sample supplies, tons of hair and literally no hand soap. Is this a mall?Lots of garbage left around my room when I was ambushed for EKG and bloodwork. Shows RUSHED carelessness. They also do not enforce their mask policy and instead of having people change masks outside before entering (as Rush downtown did) they have people coming in without a mask at registration talking for several minutes or kids with COVID without a mask until minutes later which freaked me out. Where are your BASIC safety protocols? Security was also pathetic in that they did nothing during a verbal assault in the waiting room. That (all of it) says it all for me. This is a sad failure of a hospital.*No reply about unexpected ambulances offsets your failures, Rush PR.* Whatever operational costs youre sacrificing bc of the pandemic comes at the cost each and every patient not properly treated.
I had to go to the ER for a flare up of diverticulitis that was causing severe abdominal pain. The entire experience was horrible. I sat in the waiting room for 4 hours before getting a bed. The did take me back briefly twice during that time to do a pre- screen and a blood test. During these short visits to the back no one explained the process or why I was going back to the waiting room. I was in severe pain and had to walk each time. When I finally got a bed the Dr came to see me daily quickly and said I would get some pain medicine and a CAT scan. After waiting over an hour we had to reach out to our nurse to see why no one had come. They finally came and gave me an IV pain meds and set up the CAT scan. 2 hours after the CAT Scan (which the technician said results would be available in 20 minutes) we again had to go ask the nurse where the results were. Finally 30 minutes later the Dr came with the results and we were discharged. The whole experience took over 8 hours. I don’t know if the issue was that they were terribly understaffed or did not care about there patients. I hope it was the first and shame on the hospital for putting these employees and patients through this. This will be our last trip to Rush Oak Park. I truly hope they find a way to improve as the community needs this hospital.
OMG like I cant believe all the negative reviews about this place. I just filled out their survey, giving them a perfect rating in the mail. I have been in their emergency room twice, and even though its the last place you wanna be, I love it in there. I seriously feel like Im in heaven with angels. All the staff, including the doctors, always amaze me with their intelligence. Theyre always so nice and professional-so caring OMG. They always make me laugh and my last doctor was hilarious. No words to describe this place. BEST HOSPITAL EVER
The worse er I’ve ever been to they take for ever to see anyone and just leave you in the waiting for hours with no update on when you might be able to see anyone. I sat in the waiting room with chest pains that I told them about for five hours just for them to never come and see me. While they had multiple other people who came after me go in and attended too! If I could go lower in rating I would.
I began resulting in these present circumstances medical clinic roughly a year prior and I should say that each opportunity I come here everybody is so cordial and expert. I additionally feel that theyre extremely through and keep you educated with regards to all that they expect to do and all that you need to know relating to your consideration. I generally feel like Im a need and that consistently allivate any dread I might have had when I showed up. Extraordinary individuals Great help, Great clinic. P.S my primary care physician Dr. Cobo is the most flawlessly awesome
I came to the ER with abdominal pains, had to have surgery. The staff was beyond great! My nurse Melissa was a complete gem! Very kind and courteous & knowledgeable! Julia my PCT was very sweet and had a great bedside manner & very professional! Donna my recover nurse was a complete genuine rock star and had great conversations I will never forget. Dr Nash and his surgical team were brilliant! Arturo in anesthesia was a riot, provided great information and comforting. I wish I could remember all of their names but it was like a well rehearsed surgical ballet. In a scary and over whelming moment, everyone made this as smooth and calming as possible. Thank you all and this hospital and your patients are all very lucky to have all of you!
I started coming to this hospital approximately a year ago and I must say that every time I come here everyone is so friendly and professional. I also feel that theyre very through and keep you informed about everything they intend to do and everything you need to know pertaining to your care. I always feel like Im a priority and and that always allivate any fear I may have had when I arrived. Great people Great service, Great hospital. P.S my doctor Dr. Cobo is the absolute best
Taken by ambulance to this hospital when I experienced cardiac symptoms. After a few minutes in the ER, my symptoms recurred and worsened. The ER doctor took immediate control, calmly directing her team for the next half hour or so until they could stabilize me, and then admitted me to the ICU. The doctors coordinated with my regular cardiologists to plan treatment and next steps. Social work even pitched in to resolve a medication availability issue quickly. Discharged after a few days, but stay was pleasant (as much as a hospital visit can be. Nurses were considerate and well informed. Good food too. Not sure about the origin of some of the other ratings and comments but not at all my experience.
Despite the facelift of the hospital and RUSH taking over, this place is just as awful in care as it has been for the longest time. Ive lived in Oak Park for years raising my son. We had to go to this hospital after a sports injury and the ER doctor that attended to him was just awful and incredibly neglectful. I ended up calling my friend with who is a doctor and asking her to come to the ER because I just had a terrible feeling that this doctor wasnt looking at all that could be wrong with my sons injury. My friend picked up on it right away and ended up confronting the ER doc attending to my son. My friend who knew several members of the Board of Directors spoke with her contacts and was able to open an investigation on this this attending physician.Years later, my mother has been admitted to this hospital most recently and a similar experience has occurred. Its a terribly defeating feeling when your loved ones are in need and have to accept care that is not the best nor seems to be less than par. How can this be in the time that were living with so much advancement. Incredibly disappointing, especially so for a suburb like Oak Park.
This place is a joke. The wait time is crazy. Yesterday I came in and waited 6 hours, just to be diagnosed with COVID, I come back because of difficulty breathing and I’ve been sitting here for 3 hours with a mask on struggling to breathe. They seem to be understaffed so the patients after paying for it.
My experience at Rush Hospital was just fine. However, requesting my medical records has been a nightmare. Apparently, they do not have record of me at all. I went to the ER and was even prescribed medication and there is no record of my visit. This is troubling. I have sent multiple HiTech requests for medical records, which they are legally required to provide, and have received nothing. When calling, I was told to submit another request for medical records and “hope for the best” When I challenged them on this appalling advice I was transferred to a voicemail and despite calling numerous times have never received a return phone call. This is pretty ridiculous.
My husband had to visit for an urgent health care matter (Weekday afternoon)- great staff and speedy service. Staff was very friendly and informative. All in PPE gear, explained the process, answered questions. He was in and out with most test results completed in about 2 hours. I read mixed reviews on google, but this visit was VERY positive and supportive. Thanks Nov 18th Rush Oak Park Hospital emergency team!!
Im never going to this hospital again. I have gone here plenty if times to the ER. But today I was there for 3 and a half hours, it was frustrating. I told the nurse I had eye pain, and sensitivity to light. I was hoping that they would give me medication for my eye. But the doctir came in the room one time to look at my eye. She took a long time to get back to me, it was so long for me to be waiting so I left. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone, some of the nurses were rude and acting as if they dont care.
As tired as I am, I would like to gig a huge thanks to Nurse Shelia. She was completely amazing with my daughter she made my family feel welcome at the end of the process. All the staff was friendly but Shelia really seemed so passionate and professional. I would definitely recommend Rush Oak Park emergency room to family and friend.
The ER nurse practitioner told a family member (who was not my emergency contact, and who Id asked him not to speak to) confidential medical details about my visit. I reported the HIPAA violation. Then after I left, they forgot to give me back half my belongings. Do they not let you bring phones in because they know it looks bad in there?
My husband had a stroke in August. From the moment I entered the hospital I had people asking if they could help me. Everyone I have met in my entire 3 week experience at the hospital was kind, helpful and professional. I cannot say enough about how helpful everyone was during this difficult time.
It was a hectic Monday morning. Covid-19 had already been an issue for ER services, and I needed them desperately. Things seemed confusing and terrifying and frustrating. Still I know the care you get at ROPH ER is exceptional every time. As usual they did deliver, and my love one was on his way to ROPH. Unfortunately this time I couldnt go with my love one. This left me without a way to know what was going on with my love one. So I began to inquire of the triage nurse and the receptionist, and to my surprise the unusual happened no one could provide me with an answer. Finally as a way to give me some sense of calm, I was directed to the Security Room. After excitingly explaining my current sense of dilemma, a security guard by the name of Marcus came to my aid. Putting up patiently with my mania and worry, he stayed with me ever step of the way. His professionalism and kindness made me remember why its take a team, but there is always one who stands out. And for me in that moment of crisis, Monday morning, August 17, 2020, at 7am, it was Marcus, the Security Guard of ROPH Emergency Room. So heres to you Marcus and all the other Marcuss out there. Thank you for going beyond the call of service, demonstrating and presenting the true meaning of a HERO!Thanks for reading.Be safe.
Shout out to the ER staff and especially Dr. Carl Goldstein. They made me feel comfortable and never neglected, even during the long wait for the ultrasound I was there for. Even though I was there for my leg, Dr. Goldstein treated my cough while we waited. I subtracted a star for the womens restroom in the ER. Its filthy, and a disappointment in a hospital where everyone is so sincere and devoted to patient comfort.
What a disappointment, I assumed since its associated with Rush university that they would have similar methods of care & caring staff. That didnt happen. The experience from recovery area to discharge was unprofessional & suprising that some nurses can honestly care so little. My family, friends & coworkers were suprised but hopefully when their wondering why registration is down maybe they will take patients comments seriously & try to improve the experience. So unless you feel like just being a number & not treated as a human being, avoid this hospital at all costs.
Scheduled for MRI. When scheduling the apt I was asked if I was claustrophobic and I said yes very much so. Well needless to say when I arrived for my tests and was brought into the room by a very nice technician who showed me the machine and how the test will be done ,to my dismay he showed me a large plastic mask that goes over my face with just a small cutout to see through. My anxiety went through the roof since I was never told this and I already had taken a prescribed relaxation pill (which did nothing at all to calm me). He suggested a trial run which I agreed to. After he clamped on this face shield or whatever its called and moved me into the tube I just about lost it. He got me out and I went back to the desk. Asked if there were other options since I was there. I was given a sheet of open MRI centers not affiliated with Rush which did not make sense since that is why my Dr wanted me to come to Rush for the test in the first place. I asked if there was a way to sedate me to get the test done now and was told they dont offer it and would have to go downtown for this ( isnt this a leading university hospital and they dont offer sedation?)I asked them to call and the soonest appointment was 2 weeks. No attempt from them to expedite .They handed me copies of blood work I had to have done prior to the test with no explanation of results. Fortunately, I researched these tests prior so I had somewhat of an idea what they meant. Suggestion to the staff here: when scheduling and a patient tells you they are claustrophobic ASK QUESTIONS AND OFFER THE OPTION OF SEDATION. Especially when I needed multiple tests done. There is already enough anxiety thinking about needing medical tests so this just added to my anxiety and stress. The attitude seemed to be sorry it did not work out. There was no sense of urgency to create a solution to my problem. Really poor patient care and not the level of care I expected from Rush since other procedures I have had by Rush doctors and staff have been excellent. Would not go back to the Oak Park location again.
I have nothing but good things to say about the level of professionalism and compassonlism. The surgery team led by Dr Karsas the recovery team wad excellent I was housed on the 6th floor and the staff was just suburb (RNs Amna, Marie and others) the PCTs (Lnyia and Ella, Alysis and others I would.like to.also thank the Dietary especially Shantelle I thought I was in a restaurant. I was actually sorry to leave.Robert A. Barnett
Im giving 2 stars because hospital appears to provide good patient care. As a nursing mother visiting a patient, I was very disappointed when two staff members reprimanded me for using the Mothers Room after I had been directed there by the information desk. Its discouraging that in 2019, a hospital, of all places, can be so backwards about supporting breastfeeding mothers.
I switched from West Suburban to this Hospital after being referred by a few friend who were medical professionals. It has been over one year and I am very pleased with their patient care. Since my migration, three more of my family members have switched to Rush Oak Park The emergency room moves steady and their goal has always appeared to see as many patients as possible, I have been to the emergency room twice for myself and twice for my elderly mom and the comparison to West Suburban is night and day.
Horrible service, I used the app to Schedule a Covid - 19 test, it said I was all set for Tuesday and today (Tuesday) it said I had no scheduled visit. I called Rush, they said they had nothing for me today and that the next appointment is on Thursday. They didn’t even apologize, nor offer an explanation for their glitch in the system. I know it was for today, because it would not let me schedule the visit unless I wrote in the notes as to why I needed to come in. So disappointed.
I was here june 20,2016. I came to the er for allergic reaction to shrimp i was told i should of took Benadryl and pretty much stay at home there was a heavy set lady with curly hair that wore glasses doing the intake/register process who did not have any respect for my privacy as she yell across the room for my ss# and birthday which was totally unprofessional and ignorant a coworker had to tell her to stop she was very rude and laugh at me because she felt my situation wasnt serious enough to be in the er. But in the end I had to be admitted in to this hospital for 2days due to complacation of my allergic reaction. This hospital need to really work on customer service and people skills also teach your employees to have compassion and respect for others. That lady need to be fired or discipline I will never go back here.
I was calling to make an appointment and was transferred so many times. 6 out of the 5 people were short and rude. After becoming frustrated I calmly said I may need to go somewhere else because no one seems to want to help me. The young lady said Okay bye and hung up. This is a sad day that the medical teams answering services lack professionalism across the board
My husband received surgery at Rush. One day, he was groggy from the medication, and two hood rat nursing assistants went in and had him stand up naked to “inspect his skin.” They didn’t know I was there on the other side of the curtain, hearing this, so I opened it and the two little rats scurried away, laughing. I went to complain, but no one in the nurse’s station seemed to know who they were. I should have sued them. Yes, he’s a man, but this is sexual assault by staff members. Yes, I should have called the police, and yes, I should have gotten our lawyer involved, but I had a sick husband and other things to deal with. However, I will NEVER go here, he will NEVER go here, and I would suggest that no one go here unless you think it’s okay for the nursing assistants to take advantage of the patients, because the hospital staff simply don’t care.
Went to the ER as my doctor was worried from a test I had after surgery. Didnt wait long and they made sure everything was ok before letting me leave which I would not have it any other way. Heard no one complaining and everyone was taken care of that I saw. Staff was friendly and I had no complaints
Medium grade hospital. Gets the job done, nothing to write about, ultimately depends upon your doctor. They got labs in house which makes life easier, the most confusing lay out I have ever seen for hospital. They share the space with third-party clinics and diagnostic facilities. Slow response overall, good about scheduling though
This is sad; this hospital have history for my family from births to chemotherapy... I dropped a love one off today; to see a Young African American Guy who has been here thru rain, heat, shine and he is out there today with a smile in this cold... Patient or Vistor (David Morris) My husband & I park the car and this guy is a privilege to be representation of Rush... My rating of 1 🌟 is to enter the ER Department and the Big Wigs eating and sipping hot beverages and doesnt show compassion for there job. We are gonna complaint until something is done about this....
Really a joke of a hospital. My husband had horrible swelling and severe knee pain. We were turned away from the ER because they couldn’t help us. Then we spent hours searching for a specialist that could see him to simply administer a cortisone shot to help. The Pain Management clinic is a complete joke- two ladies hovered in a back office telling us there is nothing they can do to help us without a referral despite having a PPO Insurance. Dupage Medical Group was much better, swift and able to actually help us in my husband’s time of need. You know, like a hospital should.
My primary care physician Catherine Koop remains 5 star in every way! On recent and first hospital stay for emergency cardiac concern a 5 star experience in every way! ER staff, Cardiac team, Internal Medicine, nursing, even dietary exceeded all expectations! Professionalism, excellent care, and caring a stand out experience! Many family members are physicians so am familiar with different hospitals and providers. Rush Oak Park is outstanding in every regard! Drs.Peacock, Tanis, Dembrowski, Gayetski from all these medical specialties deserve note for their care. Also, Rush Oak Park Hospital whose Telemetry unit manager, and even the Hospital Administrator Robert Spadoni, solicit feedback on how they can do better, because they want that true concern for patients to be at full potential. Personally, it already is! Thank you for everything!
Worst place ever!! Went to get an ultrasound done for my pregnancy and had the ultrasound tech tell me she hated my baby because it was positioned where she could not get any good pictures. I have been through 3 miscarriages and for someone to tell me that about my baby is horrible. The ultrasound tech nurse should be FIRED for being disrespectful to patients.
Please beware. 8/12/20. The thermal sensor is not working to check temperature at the far South entrance off of Maple. Your temperature is not being checked at all not even with a hand held thermometer. I heard the security guard explaining this during shift change so they were told to keep handing out temperature check stickers and masks anyway.
Under-qualified employees -- my mother was taken to er after she fell (due to pneumonia). 4 days in the icu, her pcp FINALLY put forth the order for images to be taken due to notable pain each time an employee turned mom on her side (each time screaming F¿€k) Shed had a fractured hip. My moms not the easiest patient, either, so I have to add another star for coping. Next time, well go elsewhere.
Very rude here. Always send me away with no answers. I had cardiac symptoms and they didn’t even look at my heart. The staff basically argue with you and make you think you’re crazy. They left me alone for hours in a room that didn’t even have a door. Just a curtain and a guy trying to get out of his restraints. I dread going here and I always tell people to stay away.
Ive had ongoing issues with billing and accuracy of quotes for services. As a cash-pay patient, I have to pay up front, which is fine - but I have to make the calls to get quotes for services. The last time I did this, I was misquoted by several hundred dollars. Pre-registration calls EVERY TIME I have an appointment to verify my insurance, even though Im cash pay, and report that every time. Sometimes I get two calls to confirm my insurance. For some reason, billing doesnt have it notated anywhere that Im cash pay. I called to schedule a diagnostic procedure and had to argue with the scheduler about what I was having done. After quite a bit of back and forth and my insistence, she finally found the procedure in my chart and admitted that I was right about the diagnostic. Registration was unprofessional, serving customers out of turn, and generally not friendly or welcoming. Billing applied the charges to the wrong account (again) and asked me if I had insurance and was wondering how to apply the charges. Ive had it. I told billing they had my money - figure it out for yourselves. Its not the patients responsibility to figure out how the billing system works. I wish theyd hire people who were actually competent.
Rush is a great facility an hospital i was hospitalized there on 3 seperate occasions an each time the staff an Drs were very nice. An on my first stay my heart started failing w my insurance no other hospital wud except me an i was abt to check out of life if i didnt have heart surgery ASAP even where my insurance wud pay for over at UIC HOSPITAL they wudnt even except but RUMDC said yes bring him here an they excepted me w No problem an still gave me great care an now i have all of my Drs at RUMDC. I Wud never go no where else but RUMDC THANKS TO ALL THE STAFF AN DRS @RUDMC ...
I had a problem with Daniel Burke head of security oak park Rush hosp. At least This is who he said he is i went to see my mother toady 4:15pm 7/1/19All over me not putting a sticker on my clothes. When i refused to put the sticker on he tried to antagonize by asking did i have something else to say?And then he lied on me saying that i cursed at him. All because i didnt want to stick a sticker on my clothes. He refused me from going in to see my mother because i carried the sticker in my hand.He really needs to be trained on how to deal with the public because he has no idea of how to of the art of conflict resolution. He creates problems.
I am giving 5 stars for Mr. Resto the security guard every Saturday in ROPH Professional building, has been giving a constant check up with the MAKC unit in 610 S. Maple Avenue Suite 4100. He has been very good to the staff and patients. He goes beyond his duty as a security guard. He helps our patient and stays with them if the transportation service has been running late. We all feel safe when He is around and checking up on us always.
Not PLEASED at all! I sat there over an hour and never made it to the back! Only 1 child was seen from the waiting room when I was there. My pressure was high, like 190/120. And I sat in the hallway. Quality of service has really gone day. SOOOOOOO sad because at one time you guys rated a 10!
This hospital has very unprofessional staff. My wife has a great nurse but the rest suck. They all sit around doing nothing and one person is doing all the work. Not to mention this hospital is disgusting. So sorry it’s not even funny. I would not recommend this hospital to my worst enemy
Went to the ER around 8pm it’s 1AM had to walk out 5 hours of waiting and did not seeing a doctor nor got treated I asked front desk on how long the wait is she said it can be longer than the people that been sitting here before you rolled her eyes very unprofessional
Worst experience I been in the ER for having my complete face swollen I have hypo thyroid and the pressure is heavy around my eye area when I got here there was hardly anybody about 8 patients I been here since 2pm everyone who was here with me got called except one person who is an elder in a wheel chair with pain hasnt got called and a now its a new group of people who are here and all the others left I am upset that as I sit here I see all new patients being seen & I am still here... And it cant be who is more serious because as I hear people talk its minor things toothache, hand hurts, etc I will never return here this is a total joke here i give one star only because the triage nurses are very nice other than that i wont ever recommend this place being my first time and this is my last
Been here for over an hour, my 8 year old son has broken out with bumps every where and we have not been seen yet. And the sign says welcome to the new FastTrack!!! FastTrack my Ass!!! Same people been here since I got here and no one has been called. Vending machine is broke!!! REALLY
I hate this place... worse service... this man said to my mom that they take the patients with critical problems. Weve been here for 3 hours without any answer about why my dad isnt treated. I mean other people came in and werent in critical condition. My dads stomach hurts and hurts, and still no answer... I wouldnt recommend this place to ANYONE!!!
I have been waiting over and hour for my mother to see the doctor in the ER we are the only ones here and do you know why our wait is so long and this was said my the nurse we are waiting for a room to be cleaned how can every room be dirty when it only us waiting I could understand if there where a lot of people here but again its just us
If I could give this place negative zero stars I would. I came in with extreme abdominal pain and they did nothing but send me back home with extreme pain. I would think they would atleast give me something to relieve my pain but they did not. Dont ever come here if youre in pain.
This my first time at this hospital and i already dont like it theas nurses is something else they just gave me pain meds for my back and expect me to leave after they just gave me a stronger pain meds that medicine had me very sleepy but back still hurts that i can bearly move they didnt give me no X-rays to see whats causing my back to give out
Me and my son came in with complications of covid and we were asked fo have a seat in the waiting area. While the 2 people that came in after me where pulled back immediately. Just wondering how sick you have to be before your a priority. Not to mention the lady at the front desk didnt even ask me what my symptoms were...and she shouldnt keep calling people baby either. Not everyone likes that or think its cute.
Went in with extreme low back pain. They diagnosed me with sciatica without even offering an x ray . Gave me ketamine which did absolutely nothing for my pain and left in pain again. Staff was exceptionally unkind, unsympathetic and unprofessional. Gave me a Rx for medication for meds I can find OTC. Its worth the drive to go to a better hospital. Do not recommend this hospital at all. If someone can help me and guide me on how to report them I would greatly appreciate it.

2022-04-08I went yesterday to the ER for severe back pain. I got in about 30 minutes after first arriving and they did vitals as well have me provide a urine sample. Afterwards, I was placed back into the waiting room: I understand that it is very understaffed right now. However, I did not appreciate being placed in a corner of a room when I did finally got taken out of the waiting room. The staff were very nice, but I wish there was more of a presence of them in the room me and the other people were in. At the end of it, I was given a lot of pain medicine that has not helped me and a cane since I am not able to walk now.

2022-05-26Had a fantastic experience today at the ER. From the moment I walked in, Sheila at registration was kind, caring, and made me feel like my visit was important. Luckily, I only had to wait about 20-30 minutes before being taken back. From intake, to being treated by the ER doc, nurse, imaging team, etc, I was treated with the utmost care and compassion. Huge shout-out to Dr Hunsucker, and nurse Dominica! They are total rockstars in providing outstanding patient care! I came in feeling awful, but left feeling great thanks to them, and the wonderful team at Rush Oak Park.YMMV of course at any medical facility, but my experience at this hospital was wonderful, and any future emergencies, I will absolutely come back.

2022-06-25The waiting room was a nightmare, but that was mainly the fault of three loud people, two of whom were vomiting, I think from alcohol abuse. I wish they could put such people in another area, away from the others who are suffering enough already. Wait was over two hours, despite being rated Red. Once we got inside, Dr. Nash’s team was terrific. Five stars for them. Knowledgeable, caring, considerate… provided excellent care.

2022-01-18My aunt was admitted to ER in critical condition with heart trouble. She has language barrier and unable to tell the staff about she has Advance directives. I tried to call the staff, but they either hang up the phone or let it ring. I drove 300 miles and came to ER. Unable to visit my aunt due to their COVID protocol ( still cant manage visitors after 1 year of experience with pandemic- incompetent facility). Keeping old, frail and helpless elderly isolated from their families at their end of life due to their own incompetence. Very disappointing. I gave 1 star for the security guard who tried to pass message to ER charge nurse who refused to atleast speak to me regarding the patient care! I requested to speak atleast to a social worker or case manager. Guess what ..... no one is available!! What kind of care is this? If anyone wants to die without seeing their family at the end of their life, this is the place called Rush Oak Park hospital. By the way, I am an experienced RN and I have never seen this treatment ever before. Shame on you- Rush Oak Park Hospital.

2022-04-08Im dealing with breast cancer and a broken leg, Ive dealt with tons of people at this hospital from surgeons, nurses, techs, the people that handle appointments, the front desk people at various departments etc. Every single one of them has been so nice and helpful, they really make things as easy as they can. Special shoutout to Melissa in Radiation for going above and beyond the call of duty. You are much appreciated, Oak Park Hospital ❤️

2022-05-11The emergency waiting room is horrible process they can’t tell you if you next. I went to the back for my temperature saw open rooms but waiting room park. It puts me to a jr cook county hospital. Never set in a emergency room to be be seen for over 4 hours. I saw a child sick in pain coughing and they been here over 3 hours. Horrible never coming back here. I asked for water and they gave me warm water.

2022-01-17OP Rush has been my sons safe place for over 10 years. This last experience with having his labs faxed to CVS pharmacy has been a nightmare. It has put my son in an unsafe position. His CBC with differential has been drawn regularly for 10 years. We give the lab the CVS fax each time. The results were usuallyfaxed and he was able to pick up his medicine. Lab failed to dothis, and their phone was not functioning to reach them for days. When I finally reached them, they faxed an incomplete test result.! He is unable to receive the medicine from CVS and may end up being hospitalized.Plus, as it is now the holiday weekend, I can not even talk with someone in the hospital who might help.Poor, poor customer service. You dropped the ball.

2022-06-17Absolutely ridiculous. We and other parties waited in the er waiting room for 5+ hours. The charge nurse came out after I and one other person requested to speak to someone and she talked to the first person and gave her nothing but “I don’t know” answers. Then she got to me and I had expressed my concerns (my cousin got into a car accident today and has neck and back pain) she couldn’t even give me an answer. She looked at me like I was crazy and said “ok we’ll I can see where you are in the line”. Absolutely ridiculous. The nurse the facility and the receptionist. Yet another person who works here who is incompetent.
