Ross is like the best place to go shopping for fashionable clothes for a really good price. I just bought a beautiful jacket from Michael Kors for only $80 and Im so happy. I just wish the shoes were more my size, I wear an 11 so theres way less options for me
Lots to choose from in all sizes and styles of clothing. Could use a wider selection of womens shoes but with everything else they have to offer its just not that big of a deal to me. Customer service is good and they are always smiling even when a customer is giving then attitude. I live in the city and will drive the 45 minutes just to go to this location. My favorite Ross by far.
Typical place you go to for cheaper things. Good for socks and kitchen items you want for cheaper. And nice selection on kids items.
Trying to pay for items I wanted to purchase was a nightmare. Only 1 cashier and she was handling purchases and returns. When I asked if there was anyone else to call for help she said no because the other cashier was at lunch and the manager was getting ready to leave and thats how all the Ross stores are run.She then said that was how they kept the prices low. Next time Ill go to Kohls. The store is cleaner, more selection and more cashiers.
Ross is always hit or miss, but I generally find something I didnt know I needed. And Tuesday is senior day, so you can save even more! Great prices, and they have a better dress selection than any other discount stores. Lots of choices for under $30.
Good prices for dresses but not great customer service. Be aware if you go late that they close the fitting rooms a full half hour before the store closes. Which doesnt make any sense for a clothing store. I arrived at 10:30, was trying on stuff by 10:45, and got kicked out at 11:05. The lady was quite rude--she had to put away EVERYthing I left, whereas if she had let me take 10 more minutes I would have been done and might have bought something else. I get that everyone wants to go home at the end of the day, but give me a break. Not everyone can shop in the morning.
I love Ross, but this one always seems to be hit and miss. It can be very disorganized if you go at the wrong time,. When you find a good deal though, it tends to be great deal, so I keep coming back even though I only find something every 5 times or so
Great finds only problem is you will be waiting in line for a long amount of time to check out! Literally only 1 cashier. 2 if youre really lucky. They do not have any consideration for the customers time.
I have been to this Ross department store a couple of times. They dont have a wide select of clothing for men or boys. The womens dress selection is decent however this review is based on my last visit.I stopped in to get my husband a couple of shirts on a Wednesday afternoon. As I was ready to check out, I noticed that ALL the check out lines were closed. The only check out line was in the return and exchange area which also happens to be the jewelery department. There was only ONE cashier, and Im assuming its because it was not a busy afternoon. The cashier was ringing up a customer as I waited in line. Apparently, there was two lines, a purchase line and an exchange/return line which ultimately is being handled by ONE cashier. This totally defeats the purpose of having two separate lines! I was up next but apparently I was standing in the wrong line because the cashier took another customer before me. I waited my turn patiently. As she called, next I was not even greeted by her or asked if I found everything ok. She had no motivation to be at work, not a smile, not a hello! I asked for clarification as to why I was bypassed. She said there was two separate lines and that signs are up. I agree but why have two lines if there is only one cashier? Not once did she apologize for the confusion. I flared up and walked out without purchasing anything.This store is under staffed and the cashiers clearly need good customer service skills!
Convenient parking and low prices
Good store, but sometimes prices are not worth for some products, as well there is not good shoes for adults especially smaller sizes. Also, there should be a way for parume to get tested before people buy it, because no one would like to buy something they dont like.
This store is very clean and organized compared to other locations.
Im not sure if I like the new customer service representatives. They charged me twice for the same item didnt even apologize and they yelled at a customer because she asked for a bigger bag. Not a very professional behavior. Miss the old cashiers and the manager they were very polite.
Ross is a must for those looking for clothes, house wares and everything in between at a bargain price. So heres my take on Ross, its basically the concept of Marshalls or TJ Maxx minus the designer name brands. That being said, certain things are priced the same as the two other stores I mentioned but also offer other items at a much better bargain than Marshalls, you just have to know what you are buying because not everything they sell is necessarily cheaper but prices the same as competitors. So if Marshalls or TJ Max had a less wealthier sibling, Ross would he that person.
Everytime I come to this location there is one cashier for purchase and returns! This is unexceptionable. I was inline to return something took me a half an hour. Wanted to buy more stuff and decided not to because I would have to wait in line again!
Horribly rude staff stood around while a line formed at checkout. I asked a cashier for a price on an item without a tag and rather than look it up she and another cashier made up varying prices. The store was an absolute wreck.

EVERYONE! Do not shop here! 9454 Ross at skokie ! Few moments ago, They humiliated me, my mother and my brother! So heres what happened... we were happily shopping for school clothes literary came all the way from north side of Chicago down to skokie! We were ready to pay and I walked into the line when these two ladies(old about 50 and other around 20) were walking towards the line too. The 50 year old lady started to fight for her spot. I didnt want to argue with her because I was taught to respect my elders so I let her take my spot. She started to say that I wasnt raised right and saying all these other stuff that obviously got me mad. I defended myself by telling her kindly that I wasnt the child that she thought I was thats why I gave her my spot. So the 20 year old wanted to fight me in the line because her mom was mad at me. I had done nothing wrong with speaking for myself because theres freedom of speech. The 50 year old lady, started to get more aggressive and talked really bad to my mother. She said this is why they send people like them back to Mexico . Obviously my mother and bother and I got offended but remained calm. She was also saying that she had the number of immigration on her phone. Instead of the workers from Ross helping us that we were being attacked by racism, they decided to take the two ladies spot. The managers from the store, instead of telling something to the ladies, they got mad at us for being there. This store has no security, and workers are useless. The worst part of all is that the two ladies that were offending us, were hispanic. PLEASE share! Spread the word!! DO NOT SHOP AT THIS LOCATION!!

Very disapponted because me and my family were humiliaded by the workers. We were in line when a customer attacked us with racist verbs. The workers decided to take the attackers spot and walked away from the scene. Theres no security in this store either. If I could give no stars I would!!

Poor attitude at this location. Mgr greeted me at door by saying were closing in 15 minutes and walked away. It was 9:12 pm with plenty of time to shop. How bout asking How you can help?!Then she ignored me for about 5 minutes while the line was getting longer. A guy tried to walk in at 9:26 ( I looked at my watch). She tells him thru the door, the reason the door isnt opening is were closed. He pointed to his watch and said theres still 5 mins. Then she looks at hers and says, no its 9:34. ( it wasnt) Finally she lets him in begrudgingly and rolls her eyes. He says thank you and she passive aggressively says, hurry up, people would like to go home.She then came over to me and checked me out with no thank you or communication other then what my total was. My guess is she really wanted to get home or doesnt like her job much.Ever heard of Customer service??
I love Ross so much. This one is always clean and not cluttered. The shoe department is always cleared out, showing how good of deals there are!

Not many options in clothing a lot of Items marked incorrectly as to size.
This is hands down the best Ross of the area. All of the best dressed and tops are here because this Ross is not ransacked like the one on Touhy, even though the shop is smaller.

This store closes at 11.30 pm right i was there today driving from 30min far arrived there at 11.10pm and they announced that the store going to close soon so we rush to cashier right by 11.15pm and ome of the lady working there was so rude she told me you cant buy and was next to counter just where her friend was helping other customer but she ignore seeing us as young guys and was so rude we try to say please we came for far but she was laughing at us and i try to ask her name so i can complain about her to her manager tomorrow morning but she refused it saying i already closed out.

Yesterday I was in this store doing Shopping and unfortunately the lady in charge of the dressing rooms was very derogatory and rude in her treatment, as a customer I had a very unpleasant moment. Despite this incident I decided to conclude with the purchase of several items. When I approached the box I contacted the boss and told her what happened with her employee Rubina. The boss defended her employee telling me that she is a good employee and that she has never dyed problems with her. After having bought more than $ 300 in clothes and having received unpleasant treatment by the employee Rubina, customer service is inefficient from both the employee and the boss. The least I expected was that she apologized for the lack of respect for me by her employee Rubina.

2022-06-11Their prices has gotten ridiculous Something hes not doing right he have fixed you have fixed my ring about 6 times the same ring each time the price goes up it keeps breaking in the same spot so hes not fixing it right Something hes not doing right to have been to keep coming back and like I said the price keep going up-and-up I havent found anyone else in this area yet but I will be looking but hes a nice guy

2021-07-15Hello,Id like to make a complaint about one of your managers working at your Skokie, Illinois location. The address is 9454 Skokie Blvd, Skokie, IL 60077. She helped with my return. I wanted to make a complaint. Even though she helped me with my return, she had an attitude with me in the store. I had lost my receipt and I took off the Ross tags on my items. I took the tags off because I thought I would be keeping the items but I decided I wasnt going to so I wanted to return the items. I spoke to one of your managers earlier in the day, his name was Javier. Javier was a great manager and was very kind on the telephone. He told me that if I knew the time and amount for the transaction, they would be able to pull up the receipt and make my return easy. Your manager who was working on July 14th 2021, her name is Paulisa (or something that sounds like that) made my return difficult. She succeeded in finding my receipt in the system but I didnt appreciate being lectured about keeping my receipt people lose their receipts all the time. Her attitude even continued when she said this was very difficult for me and I had a hard time doing this Ok well guess what.....I worked in customer service before too, as a matter of fact I still do as an Uber and Lyft driver and I have to deal with customer complaints and issues all the time. NOT ONE TIME have I EVER said that to a customer or gave them a hard time about something that could be done EASILY. I didnt appreciate this at all, this manager should take some lessons from Javier, hes an example of a manager that can be patient and still provide great customer service. My report will be going on every review site as well. Paulisa should learn to be a better manager.

2019-12-15Prices are amazing. Employees not so much. After we spent more than an hour shopping, an employee began emptying our cart while we were looking at something else. We approached him and he denied it. He said it must have been a customer. Highly unlikely that another customer wanted womens sweaters and boys shirts in 3 different sizes. Also, there were only 2 other customers in the store! An honest Im sorry would have been so much more helpful. Apparently, there is a price to be paid for Rosss low prices. We eventually found our items--in the departments theyd come from. Hmmm.

2019-11-22Pretty standard Ross Store, maybe a bit better organized and less messy than most, but they did seem understaffed when I go on weekdays. They had some nice Columbia down jackets, which was fortunate for me, as I didnt bring any heavy winter coats with me to Chicago and I got caught in the freak Halloween and Veterans Day snowstorms!

2019-07-29I bought cups but the cashier didnt pack them carefully so I took one more plastic bag for them. However she snatched it from me and said they wouldnt have enough bags. I asked her to give me a paper to wrap them and she threw a dirty paper to my carter from garbage. I asked her name but she said she wouldnt have to let me know her name and said to call the customer service center. I really got upset because of her rude attitude so I just took more plastic bags whatever she said. When I came back home I realized the rude cashier double scanned one of my stuffs. When I went back there, she said there were same products. I said no and I could show all stuffs I bought there and she called a manager. They eventually realized it was double scanned and just gave me a refund without any apology. The rude girl seemed like a racist even though she seemed biracial. Terrible experience.
