Ross Dress for Less in other cities:
The store is clean and the shelves are arranged nicely. Theres plenty of items to choose from and some great finds! The prices are fair. The drawback? The employees dont know how to smile; much less greet you when you come in or check out! Today was the first day an employee smiled and greeted me when I came into the store. I pegged him as a manager right away. On the way out, I asked the cashier a question. She stared at me. I asked again and nothing. After determining that she didnt have a hearing disability, I asked the question, also asking if she was going to respond. She finally did but with no apology for her rudeness! I asked to speak to the manager....not anxious to go back!
I went to Ross tonight 2/17/2021. Due to covid their dressing rooms are closed. Why? I rarely give one star reviews. I was shopping around and browsing. I found a sweater I absolutely loved. So I walked back to the fitting rooms to try it on and they had closed signs all over. I quickly three the sweater over my clothes because its a sweater right? No harm. I threw it on looked in the mirror and liked it! Then an employee came over the loud speaker and said not to try on clothes because of covid. Why couldnt they just politely tell me? Public bullying at its finest. I wont shop at a Ross ever again.
Good prices, horrible checkout service! 2 registers open, but one had a lady returning MANY items which took over 1/2 hour! So, really ONE checkout with the line starting to get deep.... like 10 people behind me! Glad I was towards the front, but still waited 30 minutes to checkout.😠
I dont like leaving negative reviews unless absolutely neccessary. This one just really got to me. My husband and I went here to buy some home decor items & clothes. I was taken back by the manager that followed us around the store staring and giving us dirty looks the entire time. The pure ignorance of people never ceases to amaze me. We continued with our purchase because I wasnt going to let that manager think for one second that I was going to be a coward & put all the things down we were going to purchase. From this point on, I will never again step foot in an establishment that makes someone feel that uncomfortable. Especially when you spend a good amount of money there. Be kinder to people & dont judge someone for the way they look or their ethnicity! Period!!!!!!!
If youre looking for something nice and cheap this is the place. I love buying mostly all mine and families clothes here as well. From top brand names like Nike, Calvin Klein, Levis, Adidas, etc the list goes on for less then half the regular price. I never go in here without coming out with a great deal.
I will NOT be shopping at Ross after my experience today. I previously shopped there often and have spent hundreds of dollars there but today’s experience has left me angry, disappointed and never wanting to return to Ross! I purchased a 40 dollar winter coat from Ross and a week after my purchase it ripped in the sleeve. Cheaply made I guess? Went to return it today but the cashier stated they couldn’t take it back because of the smell of the coat!!! What!! That is the craziest thing I’ve ever heard!! I asked for the manager and she also explained because of its smell, they couldn’t take it back!!! The manager’s name was Julia! So, if the jacket smelled like roses, I could of returned it??? Jacket must smell a certain way or can’t be returned??
I only shop here because sometimes I just happen to find some awesome clothes for a good price. I hate the way they treat everyone as if they are thieves! The carts have those ridiculous pole sticking out the top so you cant leave with the cart and theres a security guard standing at the door staring... it just isnt icky feeling inside the store. I have not yet met a very friendly employee there. But they do have great stuff and great deals!
Clothing, shoes, purses, household goods, bedding, etc, etc. for the entire family, at reasonable prices!! I do wish they carried more jewelry and clothing for small children, though. The wait for check-out can be long, at times. Fairly clean, nice wide aisles and roomy dressing rooms. Cashiers could use a few in-services on courtesy & friendliness! I WOULD shop there more often if it had a friendlier atmosphere!!!In general, however, a pretty good place to shop! Especially for gift giving. Worth a try!!
I love Ross! This store is one of the neater Ross locations Ive been to, I feel like someone is always straightening up & putting things away. Go in with an open mind and just shop around instead of looking for something super specific, there are great deals to be had here. Always cute seasonal items & home decor.
I cant even believe people say this place has great customer service. I have been in there multiple times and rarely are you even greeted. I had a cashier refuse to ring me out when I was the only person in line and another associate was friendly and rang my purchase. I just have never even really been treated like a human when shopping there. I lost my debit card once and the associate I asked to see if anyone had returned it because I lost it in the store pretty much said not my problem.
The checkout lines were ridiculous and there was only 1 cashier. She was doing great though. I believe her name was Talia. Major props to her for bringing people up fast. However I paid cash and her register drawer got stuck. The manager seemed too busy doing whatever to notice how bad the lines had gotten. She was able to pull the worker from the fitting room to help cash people out bit that shouldve been done 10 minutes prior. The only reason Im giving 3 stars instead of 1 is because of how well the main cashier handled all the stress. Hopefully the get some more employees so this doesnt happen again.
This Ross is sooooo Ghetto... it was better when this TaShonda LaRonda or whatever his/her name was wasnt the so -called wannabe Manager... Okay, I had two Co- Wash hair products in my hand (exact same) and the Pump on the other was broken off... The cashier said, Ill knock a dollar off... FINE...so LaShawn or LaRon..over heard and come running those nasty dreads over and said (in a thuggish standing on the street corner voice) We can only do 10%... Nooooo Wesley Snipes.... I went to the Ross in (New Lenox)... Friendly and Cleaner... Thanks a lot:(:
Its 1:40 pm and Ive been waiting in line for almost 30 minutes. The line behind me is almost to the fitting room. They have 5 registers and only 2 of them are open. This is literally pathetic. I will never be returning to this location. Management obviously has no idea how to run a business. I see other employees walking around and reorganizing clothes but they cant open up another register. Horrible experience

2021-12-16Ross is one of my go tos for office/professional clothes. Since they offer such a variety for selections for most budgets, I get great deals on amazing outfits no matter which store I visit!(I only gave 4 stars because the Ross stores STILL have the fitting rooms blocked off when many other places have theirs opened up. I know things are difficult right now to sanitize etc, but clearly other places manage it. You could offer supplies for the customers like Planet Fitness does. We all are on board with this and everyone does their part.)(These are just some of the shirts/dresses I recently bought, I will add more to this when I get pics of them. )*IRISH ☘️ ROSE 🌹 APPROVED*

2022-02-18I dont know how they do it, but it can be a long line, when youre ready to check out, and you dont wait long. They can sub in another person with no slow down at the register. Clean Store & different stock items each week. Its a busy store, but thats not a deterrent. Note: During this 1stQ 2022, bare shelves or on-hand in-stock items, are not an issue at this location. Terrific Store!

2018-12-18Its always an adventure in Ross. I never look in their make up section but I did my last visit and found a great pallet for my 16 year old sister who loves make up. The line was long but luckily they had 2 people at the registers so it went fairly quickly, I love that . Ill be back for sure.

2021-05-18This is my go to store for quick reasonably priced outfits for little outings and such. I also like the home section of the store; its full of little gems. I can always find something for myself and my daughter but the mens section is hit or miss when Im shopping for my sons.

2021-04-18The store was clean. It was very busy. All the staff I interacted with were exceptionally nice. I like the check out layout, you can never pick the slow lane. They had quite a diversity of products.

2021-01-02So, perhaps because it is after the holidays. But this particular store was picked over. It definitely didnt offer much of what I was looking for, which was a variety of clothes, accessories, etc. I was kind of disappointed. But they may stock back up for the new year. I was able to find a replacement for my pillow with the same kind that nobody else has anywhere. So that was great! I was super excited about that! Other than that, it was kind of messy. Again, this is all probably due to the holiday season and workers being overdrive worked.Overall Id say it was decent experience. Nothing really notable or spectacular. Though they did greet us when we walked in. It was nice to hear them say Welcome to Ross! I know thats weird, but little things matter.
