Horrible. Unprofessional. Dictatorship likefaculty (their way or the highway).Communication with the higher-ups whensomething doesnt go right (which is almostalways) results in an attitude from them wherethey twist and turn your words. Teachers pickapparant favorites. In the sonography programof the school, students must complete a certainamount of hours of clincals in order to graduate. The problem is that some students are favoredand get the hours faster while other studentshave none. This results in delayed graduation, which in turn delays the ability to get a job andprovide for ones self. Respectful emailsaddressing this issue to the faculty results inblame placed on the student and anger forwasting their time. Because a student waslooking out for their future, they are now subjectto more scrutiny with fear of not being placed atall. Dont take my word for this, go ahead and askany student that has went to this college withinthe last year. They will all tell you the same thing, but fear for their own future so they stay silent. Please do not waste your hard earned moneyhere. While the faculty disrespects you and doesnot do their job, they still gladly take your money.
I am in the Business program. I never thought I would be able to go back to school. Thankfully all the instructors and teachers are very welcoming and help every step of the way. I am so blessed be able to attend this and take all my courses online so I can still work my normal job. I would recommend this school to anyone who is not sure what they want yet and need a little extra help starting their journey with school.
Im currently attending Rockford Career College for my Medical Office Billing & Coding diploma and I absolutely love it here! I havent had one instructor that I dislike and the staff has been so welcoming and helpful anytime I was feeling overwhelmed or even just to ask a question. I only had to physically attend for 2 terms since my MOBC classes are online and I was actually kinda sad on my last day of class here at the school so I signed up to be a student ambassador! Its seriously like a second home!
Please do not go to this school. Especially if you are a veteran. Veterans have always had issues not getting paid for multiple months in a row due the school dropping the ball. This school cares only for your money.Edit.This school has not tried to help me find a job. I was contacted via email asking my availability to come into the school. Since I was a stay at home parent at the time I was unable to come with her. Due to school policy not allowing children on the second floor. Told them I was available after 530 or the weekends. That was the last I heard from this school. They have my resume, I also sent that in an email a month before last contact. Not once has this school tried to contact me about finding a job. I have had to go through a temp agency to find myself a job.
I think the mayor of Rockford (Tom McNamara) said it best: Rockford Career College has served the citizens of Rockford for 160 years with quality education and training opportunities. He went on to declare March 21st to be Rockford Career College Day. Very impressive!
Attending Rockford Career College for the Paralegal program was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. From the moment I met with admissions to when I met the Program Director I felt they had my best interests in mind. As I progressed through the program, I realized that they werent there for the money or for the numbers, but to ensure that those of us progressing through the program would have the real-world knowledge and skills to succeed in our fields. The instructors were knowledgeable, excited and crazy (in a good way). They made learning fun. My fellow students are now colleagues that I know I can count on in a pinch. Best of all, I still am in contact with the Director and Instructors who still check in from time to time to make sure everything is going well.Overall, it was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend RCC to anyone looking for higher education.
HORRIBLE SCHOOL! DONT DO IT!this school is the most unprofessional school ive ever encountered! the entire school is a joke. teachers get fired all the time and they hire new ones and throw them in and they have no idea what they are doing and are not professional by any means! they talk about hooking up with students and drinking and other unproffesional stuff for a instructor to discuss with their class. the admissions reps get fired all the time so you never know who your supposed to go to for questions.financial aid never answers the phones or gets your paperwork right. the admissions director dates a program lead, so that program gets the most enrollment push. NOT FAIR! the president is a joke and just looks like a complete idiot any time you talk to him. hes worked at two failed colleges already. programs are way over priced and keep going up. NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE IN THIS PLACE! its always voicemail voicemail. save your money and go elsewhere! unless you want 20 different teachers a term because they all get fired, never want a call back, and like losing money.i wish I could rate a zero star. everyone is rude at this school except maybe a handful of people. not one good thing to say about this place.
I received a diploma in the electrical technician program and an associates degree in construction management. The classes were challenging yet informative and kept me motivated through the entire course. The staff was extremely helpful and encouraging and always available for questions or concerns. After my education was complete, I was quickly able to find work within my field of study. I would recommend hard working motivated people to look into this school and take advantage of the opportunities they present.
This school is a rip off! If i could give it 0 stars i would! I was new in Rockford and saw commercials and decided to attend. I went for medical coding & billing. It cost 30,000 for an associates for 2 years but i went for it. Mid year they changed their program and took the associates away so now i was going for a year and paying 10,000 for a diploma. No hospital or clinic will take you with a damn diploma! I had a medical issue and had to be gone i came back a few weeks after and they said i had to go online it was going to be hard to catch up! They had no compassion for what i had gone through! DO NOT GO HERE THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY ROCK VALLEY COLLEGE IS WAY BETTER & CHEAPER PLUS ALL YOUR CREDITS WILL TRANSFER!
The worst school I have ever been to ! ! They are not a accredited school. they lied to me when I registered and told me my credits were transferable. Three months 2700$ later I find out that I couldnt even take my credits to any other school its all about the money with this school. Please do your research on this school before registration.. it could save you alot of valuable time and tuition costs. The school is also facing many class action lawsuits against them . Its alot of manipulating and lip service. They only want your money please do not make the same mistake I did and also like the many others who were taken advantage of.
DO NOT! i repeat DO NOT, go to this college. they’re so unorganized & nobody has their sh!t together! i got the news that i was moving to texas & they told me my 8 months worth of attending here, NONE of my credits transferred. & they don’t give a flying you know what about you, they only care about the money. wish i had read these reviews before i signed all the papers to attend this college. i hope i saved some of y’all before you got tied up at this “it’s a beautiful day at rockford career college” LOL.
I am very thankful, I was able to manage an education in Paralegal Studies and received an Associates Degree. The staff here is very welcoming, friendly and loving, they are always out to help you succeed. I would recommend this school to anyone. I finished my externship and was hired right off the back, it is definitely not easy as you think but you start somewhere. Now I am working my way up to success, Thanks RCC!
I got the education that I worked for but like so many others when I started and throughout my two years there is was repeatedly told that my credits would be transferable to colleges for nursing programs as soon as they were done with the negotiations with them. This has never happened. I was a year into my degree for an A.A.S. in medical transcription when they had decided to discontinue that degree program and inform us that we would have to choose another. I went for the Medical Assisting with promise of transferable credits for a Nursing degree in the future and this did not happen and now I am 25k in debt with no way to transfer and continue my education without starting from scratch. If there is a lawsuit against them I have not been informed and would like to know about this. Please do yourself a favor and research and find a college that will allow you to continue your education without starting over and giving you empty promises and lies.
Received my AAS is Business Administration/ Accounting. It was a hard, trying, rewarding 2 years of my life. I am glad that I made the decision to pursue my education here. Some of the curriculum could have been a bit more relevant to what we would get in the field, but with the help of the instructors and staff it made the transition smooth.
College is what you make of it no matter where you attend. RCC gave me a solid education in Medical Assisting. I graduated with high honors and I made a great impression at my externship site, securing a letter of recommendation and a job offer. I then worked in the industry for 7 years in the same company. I also started out in the transcription program and when it was discontinued, was directed into the MA program. This was way back in 2004. Back then, it is true that there were no options to transfer into nursing programs with full credits. HOWEVER, now in 2017 there are MANY options available for grads with credits from RCC. There are many online and private colleges that have nursing programs that will accept many of your transferable credits now. I suggest the previous reviewer look back into this, if this is still a dream for her. The educational possibilities that exist now did not exist 10 years ago. Regardless, I was also accepted into the nursing program at Rockford University back in 2008 or 2009, with 2 scholarships and many of my credits transferring. College is what you make it and even though this is private instead of public, RCC can work if you make it work. I wasnt able to attend RVC because they wouldnt let me in at age 27 after I failed ONE class back when I was 18 and irresponsible. RCC made my college degree dreams possible.
This school isnt accredited. Nothing will transfer. Teachers are unprofessional and its almost impossible to find out how many credit hours you are taking. Teachers are unprofessional and one of them had a conversation with the class about smoking weed and why he is for it. I dont care what your personal life includes, but dont spread that to the students. You are here to give a professional education, not tell me about your party days.
RCCs Paralegal Program is an excellent program. The Program director and teachers are phenomenal. Choosing RCC is one of the best decision I could have made for myself. If you are willing to put forth the effort and work hard RCC is for you. What you get out of the program is exactly what you put into it. I still keep in touch with the program director, former students and teachers.
IF YOURE THINKING ABOUT GOING HERE, DONT!!! TURN AROUND AND GO ELSEWHERE!!!! I am saving you thousands of dollars believe me.I am a current student at this school. This is the shittiest school ever, the staff are clueless and not knowledgable what so ever. Within six months they raised the tuition twice, basically screwing students over and putting us into debt. This school is a rip off, and it only wants your money. They do not care about you or your education. The credits are NOT transferable!!!!
If I could give this school 0 stars I would. Ive never seen so much drama in my life. Biggest waste of time and money ever. They sent me a notice of withdrawal when I did not consent nor was it even talked about with me, then about a month later these asshats call me and ask me if Im ready to come back to school and finish. Ive never seen so many people act like children in my life. DONT WASTE THE TIME AND MONEY!!
They are RACISTS and the lady they have on the phone is so RUDE! it’s actually unbelievable. Now that I am reading through the reviews I see I am not the only one who has been had a bad experience. They will say they will call you back and never will. Don’t waste your time. You can find another program that is actually being run well.

2022-03-12Honestly one of the worst Finacial and educational choices I’ve ever made. As far as the vet tech program. The teachers call off every week at least one day. Expect no advance notification for trips and expect your work to be graded weeks later. Also expect to get dry slide shows with little to no hands on experience for you first year. You will teach yourself. Take the course online and save the money!!!!

2022-04-01QUICK SUMMARY- If you feel like wasting time and money this is the place for you. If you interested in HVAC I’ll sum it up. It takes up to 3-4 months to get your tools remind you the course is only 9 months long so you stand there with no tools while the teacher gets mad at you. Your honesty better off watching YouTube I have been here for 7 months and 90% of the time the units in the lab don’t work and the only money the school puts toward the lab it lumber so other classes have something to work on. Also in the 7 months almost none of the original staff work there anymore just in HAVC instructors alone there have been about 6 that quit or have Been fired all because they have had there own opinion on helping students . upper administration didn’t like that so if you decide to come to this school make sure you bring your own parts for the furnace and don’t have opinion good luck.

2022-07-27Don’t bother with this place. It’s a joke. They will sit there and act all nice to your face and then turn around and do nothing for you in the end. I graduated in April it is now almost august and I still haven’t received my welding certification because the lead instructor won’t work with people who have jobs. Stay clear of this place. Spend the extra money and go to RVC or Blackhawk.

2022-05-18Worst decision of my life right here. Wasted 2 years and now Im $30,000 in debt with nothing to show for it. Not one person at the school was willing to address the issues with the sonography program. They changed the rules and schedules multiple times with little to no notice. The director will say anything to get her way. She plays favorites and does not care if you succeed.

2022-03-16Classes and professors were amazing, however since graduating they’ve reached out to me randomly about job opportunities which is amazing we love that however I didn’t respond because I’m busy and I moved to a different time zone so the hours just never worked to respond back anyways they went as far as reaching out to my FACEBOOK friends to ask about me which I find completely unacceptable and a complete invasion of privacy, especially because I’m not even friends with any of the staff at Rockford career college!!! They’ve also gone as far as trying to add me on Snapchat multiple times!! Very unprofessional, my life is private and they felt it was their business to reach out to people I’mFriends with on social media and stalk me on social media. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

2022-02-03Classes were fine and but where the problem lies is with the college and staff itself. Had issues with giving my diploma to me after I had completed courses. They ignored voicemails and emails about several questions I had. A couple months after graduation, someone reached out to me to help with job search. I agreed to have them help, the person now takes over a week to return one message at a time and its about a month with not one job to even look into.
