I got a great deal online. The place was a little shabby, but it was very clean and the staff were super friendly. Coffee wasn’t made yet when I went to the lobby at 6:30, and then it was empty when I went back later. That’s fine, there’s a Starbucks in the same parking lot. A casino is next door if you’re into that.
Only positive thing I have to say is the friendly staff. Electrical outlets were out of the wall, paint job in the bathroom still had painters tape, shower head had a hole, toilet was wobbly, constantly people running in and out of rooms, saw a sheriff parked in the parking lot (sketchy), toilet wasn’t cleaned. Though it is a motel and you get what you pay for I guess…
This property has roaches and I have contacted corporate with the photos I took. No one cared.. employees cared less… also I booked a king room paid ahead and got there and the room had no door knob.. she put me in a double room again booked a king… overall dirty completely unprofessional and just filthy
I dont know how this hotel gets 3,5 stars. Its very unsafe, dirty in other words is a dump. The checking in time took forever. The walkways around the hotel are filthy with traces of urine, old vomiting and cigarette buts. The room was impregnated with cigarette smoking. As a single woman, I felt very unsafe in this place. I traveled the word and never seen anything like that. Dont go there, there are other better hotels in the area.
The exterior shows a little wear and it was like pulling teeth when booking.com confirmed early check in for noon (we arrived at 2:30, standard check in was 3pm, so I dont understand the huge deal), but the ADA room was clean and spacious. The the majority the floor not being carpet was also a huge plus. Would definitely book there again.
Room was okay, but they need to clean behind the mattress/under the headboard occasionally. It was covered in peoples hair, dust, and who knows what else. I made sure not to drop anything there. Also, a lot of people were just hanging out in front of their rooms and on the balcony of the 2nd floor. I guess several people live there.
Positive: The location, shower had excellent water pressure, the beds were not too bad. Negative: the check in agent acted as if she was inconvinienced by the guest checking-in. Hotel is advertised as 100% non-smoking, the smell of smoke is impregnated in the entire room. Had to buy air freshener to be able to sleep. horrible experience!!!
The environment seemed a little sketchy when I got there. Somebody double parked between the handicapped parking spot and a regular one. A man outside was blasting the music in his car, and he stared at me intensely when he came into the main office area, which was uncomfortable.The receptionist was kind, though. I didnt realize I had to pull up on the handle to get inside the room. I had to come back to the front office and the receptionist told me. The room was nice overall, and clean. There were some amenities, including a TV and a refrigerator. I liked the setup. It was cozy and comfortable. The refrigerator turned out to be a freezer. Everything I had placed in there was frozen the next day.The place was pretty decent, and I would give it a higher rating, but I found a piece someones dirty fingernail in the bedding. That was so disgusting. The bedding didnt really look clean, either, and it was stained. It smelled clean, but I wondered why I had found a fingernal in it. That was the one thing that absolutely grossed me out.
The cleaning lady demanded to search our room when we denied service once and are they supposed to be knocking on the door daily cause they dont, I was sleeping they woke me up when I didnt answer so they opened the door almost letting my Chihuahua run out of the room, The service in rockford is just absolutely terrible receptionists always bad mouthing customers and didnt even tell us which move were moving into cause they renovating the downstairs do not recommend this inn anywhere especially rockford each room I was in there was at least two or one thing broken dont even get me started on the toilets.
I’m usually not one to post reviews, but I feel like it would be wrong of me not too on this one..this place was horrible. My husband and I stopped here as a halfway point on our trip. First off, the staff was very rude. Though my husband had the email, and receipt, she kept telling him that our room hasn’t been paid for. After about 5 minutes she finally realized her mistake. We got into our first room and it was filthy. There were tools laying around from where they had been fixing the pipes, the toilet didn’t flush, the bed was covered in stains and dirt, and someone had left their clothes on the floor.We got a new room, and there were roaches. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. Conveniently it wouldn’t let me include pictures, but I included those in my review on their Facebook page.
Told the front desk about the air conditioning not working in my room the person claimed that they were gonna come up to check it out later because they had guests in lobby. I left out a little bit later and returned after getting food only to find out they they were lying because the person was walking back from another building speaking to a woman that they were obviously familiar with (looked [and from the sounds of the conversation they were having as well SOUNDED] like they were either good friends or the woman may have worked there as well) they saw me and continued talking and walking. No one ever came up to the room.
I came to check in and the lady that was working the night shift I think she said “Rhasheda” she was AWESOME. My key didn’t work then the room was dirty she was really professional and she went above and beyond to make sure I had a room.She went out and walked the premises to find me a room when it was like 12:30am she apologized several times..She loves her job and in my opinion she needs a RAISE ASAP
Positive: The positives about this hotel were the price, and the location. Negative: The air conditioning in our room barely worked. The room was non smoking, but still smelled terribly like cigarette smoke. The smoke alarm in the room had been removed, which last I checked was illegal.
Positive: The room was clean. Negative: Staff member was not very friendly and was more interested in her cell phone text conversation than doing her job. The hotel property is not clean, and was very frustrating to access stairs with laundry carts all over. Room reeked of cigarette smoke.
Key card didn’t work when arrived. Called attendant he came with another and had to keep trying 5 or 6 times before we got in. Couldn’t leave room afraid couldn’t get back in.Room was a mess see attached pictures. Talked to security guard or policeman and he said he would be sitting in his car in the parking lot throughout the night. Felt very unsafe!
Ive been here one week. Im in a city program. The maids havent cleaned my room. I go out every day in the morning. Why cant they clean during the week. Why do I have to go to desk for towels and soap? Now that I have been here awhile, I will change my review. They have problems getting supplies sent when they have a rush if people. It takes a while to be restocked. Service is awesome. Maids are friendly.
Didnt feel safe at all. Stayed up till 3 in the morning to watch my car, this is after being on the road for more than 11 hours. The lady next to us talked to herself for hours. The pillows were like a stack of concrete. 100 percent smoke free is a joke, the cigarette smell was so strong, I could taste it, the walls and any plastic material was yellow. Just glad I made it through the night.
Cant check in until 3:00 P.M.Morning service was unprofessional and super ghetto. I asked about doing an early check in and without even looking they say there are no rooms available that its not possible. But when I pulled up to the building I could see housekeeping cleaning rooms and multiple rooms with open blinds where housekeeping was cleaning.Blankets had stains, bed had what looked like a roach on it.All around terrible place to stay
Got my deal through Priceline, I had stayed here previously and it wasn’t too bad. Located in a convenient location for shopping and eating, close to work.I stayed because of the snow, arrived at 9:00, lobby was full of people just sitting around on their phone and BS’ing with the young desk clerk, checked in , no hassles, got to my room. Beds were ok , Sink was dirty, had 2 different colors of dried toothpaste in it , no soap , pubes in to bathtub that were not mine, No coffee pot nor was there coffee in lobby.To be honest, after 10:30 with the amount of people loitering about at that time of night aimlessly, I was uncomfortable .
This hotel looked exactly like a college dorm room. After my guest and I got settled in our room, one of the cleaning ladies, watched us get into our car. We sat there for a little bit and she entered our room. My guest went in after her to see what she was doing. She did not speak English well so he asked her not to go in our room anymore. She said okay and apologized. That was super weird. Also, we paid for a non-smoking room, yet they gave us a conjoined room with someone who was allowed to smoke. Lastly, we were not given any tissue, but luckily we had wipes. Will not be staying here again. I did not feel safe here.

2022-06-30We booked a room last minute for my daughters Lacrosse Tournament and this motel was the only option. Upon entering the room the AC was running about as loud as a lawn mower engine. I turned it off and back on several times and the noise persisted. I also noted the security door lock was not fully intact. I returned to the lobby with the keys and was told no other rooms were available. I asked to please refund for the 2 nights Id just paid for and the clerk said she could not and her manager would have to approve it in the morning. I asked that she please have her manager call me if there was any issue and offered to email her the video footage I took of the AC unit. Hotels.com said they had tried to reach the motel but had not heard back so I followed up with the motel manager on Tuesday. He said he personally inspected the room and there were no issues and I would be charged for both nights. I told him I would send video footage and he said it didnt matter. He said thanks for calling to discuss my issue and he was sorry and proceeded to hang up. I contacted Red Roof Corporate and they said they would investigate and I would receive an email with a case number shortly however within 3 hours I received an email from Michael Smith the GM at Rockford Red Roof thanking me for calling to discuss my concern and that hed personally inspected the room and everything worked fine so they would not issue any refund.

2022-06-29If you like blood, urine, crumbs, finger prints, pee on the floors then this is the place for you! Not to mention the room stunk of mold and cigarettes and we could barely breath in there. We asked to have the sheets changed and the room cleaned and they refused to change them or clean it properly. Dropped off new linens, those too had blood and other stains on them. I spoke to the front desk several times and asked that this be addressed and that we get a full refund and I was told Michael the manager would not allow that. I will be calling the health department to have this place inspected. I travel all the time and have never seen a place this bad.

2022-06-27First, I booked through Expedia and the rooms were supposed to be handicap accessible. I understand that there was a miscommunication between Expedia and the hotel so while it was disappointing that we were on the second floor when we were supposed to be on the 1st what was more disappointing was the manager trying to brush off the issue and then trying to lecture me on how to book a hotel room instead of just trying to be helpful. Then, we finally get booked into rooms on the first floor. My parents and brother went into their room and myself and my bridesmaids went to get our nails done before leaving our stuff in the room thank God because when we came back they had booked our room to somebody else and there were strangers in our room that would not get out. So, we got moved again to a different room. This room was full flies, smelled incredibly musty, and there was mold all over the bathroom. The floor was also so filthy that if you walked barefoot on the floor for just a minute the bottom of your foot was black. I understand that Red roof inn is a discount hotel and absolutely my fault for looking for a bargain but I would recommend you stay far far away from here. It is absolutely disgusting.

2022-06-11There was feces all over the bathroom door. The toilet was leaking. There was dried pee stains on the bed. There was hair and dirt all over the tub. The AC didnt work. Kids were running up and down the balcony at 2am. Dogs were barking until 2am. There was screaming and yelling outside our room all night. The front desk clerks words were Well I dont know what to do about that. They dismissed our complaints. We had to beg for new bedding. The only reason we stayed is because we were stranded or we would have left. This place is absolutely disgusting. Do not go here. I also have pictures of everything

2022-03-08Positive: Nothing Negative: Room 232 the secondary lock latch busted off the door. The smoke alarm was hanging off the wall, heater sounds like a semi truck. Then they put us in 213 which the next night we tried getting in for an hour til she became available to change batteries. Ug

2022-05-16The main room door (outside) is flimsy at best and the lock required the desk manager to come out and jiggle the key card to make it work after 2 attempts to reset the card. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable.

2022-06-07Michael the General Manager is beyond amazing! His professionalism friendliness is fantastic and so far no local hotel can meet this. My fiancé and I had a great stay in Rockford and thanks to Michael and Redroof, we will definitely be back soon. Thus, we’re 10000% recommend anyone who coming to Rockford to check this place out! Shout out to Michael!

2022-03-23Positive: Location and staff were ok Negative: Room I booked a month in advance was not ready upon check in time. Was sent to a dirty room. Room I was given had a flickering light that was unbearable, light over bed did not work, run down and dirty.
