We knew we were getting an inexpensive motel, but this pushed my tolerances to an extreme. Very sketchy neighborhood. Room smelled of stale cigarette smoke. No carpeting on the floor except for that area imediately under the bed. The rest was linoleum tile. Shower had mold. Hasnt been updated in decades. Only reason I felt safe was the police car in the parking lot. Checked out the following morning.
Absolutely do not use Red Roof Inn. My husband stayed on their property in August, and somehow they charged us in January. This has caused us to be overdrawn at our bank. We began speaking to them Friday about this issue and as of Monday it is unresolved. We have two children and have sat with no money all weekend. No one at Red Roof has been able to help us. We are at our wits end. Do not stay at any Red Roof Inn! Who knows when they will charge you!
Stayed a couple months while working in the area. Front desk staff was always nice. Housekeeping lady (I believe Martha??) did a great job!! Definitely could use some upgrades. Honestly the worst part is the neighborhood and sketchy drug deals that goes on in the parking lot!! Had people follow me to my room trying to sell stuff and police were there on a regular basis!! Its too bad because it could be a decent place if they could get some things under control.
Always a good deal and worth it. Some crazy stuff happenes like a lady. Vibing dancing on her balcony but hey she was happy 😁 but be careful with your belongings! Wifi and a safe its definitely worth it I love this place! Right in the middle of everything too but food places do close early keep in mind.
Positive: I didn¿t like the hotel. Very very old, everything was falling apart there. Smells bad, mixture of smoke and lysol. They are pet friendly which I absolutely like, but they don¿t separate rooms which was not ok for me as I have allergy. Negative: no coffee maker ( which I couldn¿t understand, like what type of logic it was) because I booked a standard room that doesn¿t provide coffee or tea! I called front desk for an issue that I had in the room, but no answer. No hair dryer.
I stay for nine nights and all the time my room was super clean!! Carmen you are the queen of cleaning, thanks to all the stuff of housekeeping and thanks to all the front desk staff Alonzo , Paulina and the night auditor !!you guys definitely know what service is thank you for making me feel like Im home. very friendly and great Hospitality I will always come back here..now Im goingI back to Colorado but Im Im going through a big process of remodeling my new house in Illinois hope to see you soon guys.. thanks Red Roof for hiring always the best people everMARTIN TorresROOM 122
Cheap inn but have a lot of problem I went into a room found drugs all over the place they don’t clean good plus I saw many deals of drugs going out of there . Owner seem to not care ! My room was 254 an even now I don’t feel safe or every going there again. Like I had my family with me .
Positive: Price and location. Just needed a bed. Negative: 2 separate buildings. It was bitter cold out, and I walked upstairs to my room in the wrong building. Staff had said 2nd building, but the 1st building had 2 parts with the stairs in the middle. I misinterpreted! Again,it was very cold that night.
This is the scummiest filthiest place i have ever stayed in my entire life- i could not sleep because i was ITCHING all night- the bedding looked like it was not changed there were long hairs & pet fur all over including little black dots on all the bedding- cigarette holes in the blankets in the non smoking room, holes in the ceiling!! I’m covered in red welts- the room door was broken so my toddler was able to just walk right out& the TV was broken turned on & that’s it- - the door was covered in dried slop & the lamps were RUSTY- everything felt filthy… I’m so appalled they put a CHILD in this beyond filthy room- this place should be burned to the ground it’s absolutely disgusting i can’t believe i gave someone my money to not sleep & leave with my body infested with flea bites- you are gross & do not deserve to be in business!!
Positive: Had I known it was a residency hotel I would not have booked it. Negative: Next to a major prison. Residency hotel. Non-smoking yet reeked of smoke underlying perfumed air so thick it stuck to my hair and clothes. Blankets discolored and stinking of cigarette smoke. Windows bolted shut. Not a safe place.
I didn’t like the hotel. Very very old, everything was falling apart there. Smells bad, mixture of smoke and lysol. They are pet friendly which I absolutely like, but they don’t separate rooms which was not ok for me as I have allergy. They had microwave and fridge in the room but no coffee maker ( which I couldn’t understand, like what type of logic it was) because I booked a standard room that doesn’t provide coffee or tea 😂 !! Never seen something like this. I called front desk for an issue that I had in the room, but no answer, and The reason I didn’t go after that is I was in separate building and it was already night and I wasn’t able to walk or drive in that cold that far for the front desk. Just try another hotel as you will be disappointed for sure, especially after a long drive. And yes, there is no hair dryer ( in case you want to take a shower after a long drive don’t be surprised to sleep with wet hair).
It was an ok motel you get what you paid for. I liked that I can bring my dog. The staff was nice and friendly However the motel was old and smelly. The beds comforters didnt look trust worth. When I stayed it was 95° that week and it was great to have a working air conditioner. I stayed during the weekend and they have police in the parking lot, pet live in this motel. I did feel unsafe . The neighborhood is decent just the motel area looks scary. But it was a good stay nonetheless.
Absolutely horrid, I could not believe my eyes. The pillow did not absorb my tears, my mascara stained my shirt - I mean, I dont wear mascara thats immature. While I was sobbing over my wife who found Hooters review, I stumbled upon stinky little bed bug. My heart shattered into millions of pieces. This fat little bug reminded me of my time in nam. The breakfast? Not satisfying! I tried calling for room service and asked for the tonight dough featuring Jimmy Fallon, and they me if I took my meds. I screamed into the phone this is NOT harold , please dont call again. Would not return to this establishment. Pool? : (
We came in from Louisville Kentucky for Subiefest Midwest 2021. The room was reasonably priced relative to other hotels in the area. It wasnt far from the Race track the event was held at. There is a lot of food places and stores in the area. The room itself was average as youd expect for a hotel like this. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Positive: I really dont have anything good to say that is good about the place Negative: My room was in very poor shape. The phone didnt work nor did the television and their was dried up urine on the bathroom floor and the room was labeled non smoking but you smelled smoke. I called the GM and 4 days later he or she hasnt called back.
I stayed here while driving through after reading some good reviews. I was very disappointed that did. The room smelled like Clorox and cigarettes. I didnt feel safe and I found hair on the towels. I feel I paid way too much for what this room was. I did like I could have my dog.
Room had a dirty towel in the bathroom..was told the housekeeper is short so she cant always reach towels on the shower curtain rod. What used to be a nice place and area is now loud and ghetto..there was a fire on the 2nd floor landing the day I checked in. Dirty walls and dusty floor. Room had a faint dog scent. The last day I was there, I discovered the other side of the bed smelled like pee. The only plus I can say is the room is affordable, and the parking lot was very brightly lit. But never again.
The front desk customer service was horrible. I checked in at 3pm yesterday for what was supposed to be booked as one night stay. Imagine my surprise to learn that I was charged for 4 nights. I immediately disputed this only to be told that I would be charged anyway and that there was nothing that she could do about it, and I needed to speak back to reservations/Priceline because she only enters in what they send her, and it didn’t matter that my e-mail confirmation stated otherwise 😳😳😳😳….I called reservations who stated that they weren’t sure why she was saying that because I was ONLY supposed to be booked for one day….long story short she FINALLY came to my room saying not to worry she had fixed it. I believe that she had made the error during check in but instead of taking ownership for it she put it off on me…I’ll NEVER stay here again
Ok, this is not my first time at a Red Roof Inn. So this 1 was different than the one located in NY.(much nicer, sorry 🤷🏽♀️) Anywho, the room was very clean. We booked early so check-in was smooth. The room smelled clean which was a plus. Its busy spot, family oriented. And it was pretty quiet. We were running a lil late on check-out,so that was our bad. As we were gathering our things there were 4 different knocks(back to back) at the 🚪to ask if we were going to checkout. Which we already explained the 1st and 2nd knock. Irritating. Otherwise that it was a pleasant stay.
Sketchy neighborhood. Room smelled of smoke. Overall not clean if you look around you can see all the things that are gross. Worried about my family’s safety all night. One night was too long. If we were not already arriving so late I would have looked for another hotel.
So from the reviews I didnt know what to expect. When I checked in the lady at the desk was super nice. They had an awesome security system. Then room smelled freshly cleaned. The floor was waxed. Bed was clean, bath was clean, and stuff stocked for coffee. There is no breakfast served. The bathroom was tiny. Like so small you couldnt shut the bathroom door while you were in the bathroom. Unless you got into the tub or straddled the toilet. Other than that I was very happy with the place and only paying $66 on a sat night.
Well I must say the front desk clerks were welcoming and pleasant. Very nice to chat with. However, the room reflected otherwise. The pics shown on the website are deceiving. Very outdated furniture. Super strong cigarette smell (that was masked with some flowery spray). I was told that the rooms were all smoke free and anyone caught smoking in the room would get fined $200. Obviously that didnt apply to this smoke free room. The bathroom was super small and there was some mold around the tub. The bath towels smelled like they were taken out of a hamper. The room door was not leveled so had open gaps in the door. Could hear all the traffic outside. The inside lock did not work. I could share more but lets just say I would not recommend to others.
At first the card wouldnt go through but they were patient and helped us get through it without stress. The room was pretty nice but the floor was a bit dirty. The drain for the shower didnt drain very fast but we didnt really care. It was right across a Bob Evans so breakfast was good. Overall pretty nice with a few things to fix.
Very kind staff, Betty was fabulous! Staff was helpful, Room was clean, updated, modern. I deleted the Best Western and Choice apps and will cheerfully move Red Roof to the top of our list. WiFi was great and we definitely slept like babies! The shower was hot, but the tub was a little slippery... Great stay!
One star is generous. This place is so disgusting. Serves me right for trying to save money and go cheap. Super sketchy area; I hope my car is safe overnight. Our room smelled like smoke. No fridge, even though it was advertised to have one. Pictures below show crumbs, bugs, hair, and just the overall dirtiness of the area. Ive stayed in hotels in 3rd world countries that are nicer than this. Key card didnt even work after check in. Total waste of my money.
The rooms are nice for the price especially, but with pipe in bathroom breaking i as a disabled person from my accident/:surgery and hernia plus injuries i dam near fell and couldve landed back in icu if not dead ,water everywhere i quickly had threw my clothes, towels over it to contain it ,i already am dealing with so much this was supposed to be a affordable temporary get away / my birthday, dealing with a bunch of heartache ,pains, and hardships i just needed a break ,didnt have that ,had to pack all my stuff ,disabled carrying stuff again but all the way to otherside they probably got a kick out of it i could tell hotel staff didnt welcome me there because of im obese ,but im barely able to get around because of my accident, splenectomy and injuries, i have severe hernia and possibly dying of heart failure, my body wasnt swollen like this before my accident/surgery but i could see the way staff treated me differently than others ,from the stuck up lady at the counter making fun of my wrinkled money looking down on me Yes i paid cash and it wrinkled from my wallet sorry karen i dont have daddies credit card like you ,she seemed like she was going to not take my money and tell me to checkout, i spent my savings on your ran down ghetto motel ,and got disrespected with rude comments from the Hispanic maid not a racial comment im half puertorican, i didnt know her name ,a very short petite maid approx 52 years old ,made fat comments towards me needing to keep a room with 2 beds because of my weight and just attitude rolling her eyes at me ,then apon having to switch rooms she went in the fridge found my brand new 2litter of soda and had nasty attidude when the young guy at front desk asked her to give my drinks back from room 218 she refused and told him to go check the linen closet where her cart is locked ,he only gave me juice and someone elses water, no soda was in there by the look on her face i know she threw it out to be make me upset for what though? And hotel like oh well you spent 340$ in our hotel but who cares she threw away something u paid 3$ for it ,to me this hotel lacks any concern , respect and professionalism, i wouldnt care if i was 600 pounds ,bare foot ,bald ,old as dirt ,uglier than dirt ,im a human being ,ruined my birthday and relaxation plans ,i wont come back to Joliet Illinois Red roof on McDonough street ,i want some of my money back for the inconvenience, disrespect, loss ,last 3 days of stay being a disaster ,the guests there are extremely loud ,talking loud late by my room ,very sketchy people ,hearing a child screaming below my room in 244 last night didnt know what room and i pray these non caring staff did something about it and that the child is ok and wasnt harmed he sounded like he was being beat ,killed im not sure ,i was alone in that room and didnt want anything coming my way but i pray everything was ok , i see why booking.com got me a cheap rate ,it should be even cheaper without discounts to stay there stay at this hotel you might see why ,as far as my stay besides comfort and fridge, microwave, some good cable that was about it ,wont stay at this location again im contacting my families attorney and filing a suit against the hotel ,getting that maid fired ,and contacting bbb,and corporate whatever i can to shut this redroof down like i have with another situation even less than this ! Dont stay at this motel trust me i could say more but this was exhausting!
Honestly, I checked in after 3am from a seriously delayed flight, and just wanted to take a shower and lay down. The room reeked of cigarettes. The tub was disgusting the linens were stained. I checked out @8am. I was able to obtain a refund which made me feel a bit better. The staff at the front desk was nice and gave me no problem. She also said she would get to the bottom of the problem.............. Mm
Yes price is cheap but it is cheap for a good reason. Stayed here one night out of necessity and I wish I didn’t. Rooms are very Outdated which isn’t a big deal. Grimy floors with actual foot prints everywhere. Dirty walls, dirty stained towels. Looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. Someone most likely just comes in to fix the bed and leaves. But yet they leave envelopes in the rooms so you can leave a tip. I also check the whole place for any kind of bugs or bed bugs. Checked the mattress itself and the sheets, pillows, everything. Didn’t see anything. I woke up the next day with BUG bites!! So please BEWARE and find something better, even if it cost a few more dollars. It’ll be worth it too not go here.
Nice and clean! Staff was exceptional! Wish theyd have earlier check in times! Wish they had later check out times! Check in isnt until 3PM and check out is 11AM. Not convient enough. Price was too high for holidays(4th July). One night one person almost $100 TOO MUCH FOR ONE PERSON!!! For that price could have had a small fridge and microwave.!
The only good thing I have to say about this place is they allow pets and my dogs were able to stay in my room... other than that the room stunk. the insides of the dresser was dirty and gross almost like the last person that stayed here left their shoes in the dresser. I found a nasty crusted dirty wash rag that was left in here along with a bunch of trash. as far as cleanliness goes it was poor cleaning. as far as upkeep goes it is also poor. the air conditioner is outdated and leaks water bad. soaking the floor, the toilet seat is so cheap it slips and slides all over the place. I had to put the trash can outside of my room because it smelled like dead animal but it was just because they dont ever clean the trash cans out. I understand its a TRASH can but when its smelling that bad their is a problem... me myself coming out of town for my husbands work at power plants I am a neat freak. I have to bring my own cleaning supplies every time. the bath tub was stained 10 shades of yellow and brown, molded around the edges. the microwave was filthy and is missing the glass plate. that is part of poor up keep. the alarm clock had a broken wire with exposed wires. the noise from a womans child woke my boys up. he was stomping coming up the stairs and kicked the air unite outside my room and the walls making all kinds of noise.. I can go on and on.. all in all this place is an absolute NO next time... apparently the owner doesnt care cause all hes worried about is getting his money and as long as he is getting his rich bills he dont care. and the water smells like sewer...…….btw
I needed a cheap place to stay for a couple weeks until I found a permanent residence near my new job. The staff was very nice. Everytime I had a problem or question, they were more than helpful in getting the issue resolved. The hotel room was clean and comfortable and room service was consistent. Cant really think of anything bad to say about the place. It may not be a four star hotel, but if your anything like me who just needs a clean spot with a bed and TV that doesnt cost too much; its your place.
Stayed overnight during travel. Great for the price! We stayed in a king superior room. Roomy, has a fridge and micro, clean overall. Best part was the hotel was full, but we did not hear any outside noise! The night staff was awesome- super happy and nice! Morning staff not so helpful, but that was not a big issue. Also, Bob Evans is pretty much in the parking lot if you need a quick breakfast. Overall pleased and I am picky about hotels!
Honestly the worst hotel I have stayed at yet. First I noticed when about to wash my face RIGHT when we go into the hotel (we checked in late) that the rag was crusty and smelled like it had been used with mens body wash. So I turned the light on and it was literally covered in pubes. (I assume I s pubes. Hair of some kind). Then next day we were locked out because the locks froze. Apparently they arent meant for outside doors (under the temperature of 4 degrees) so our door wouldnt open. We were locked out from 11am-5:30pm. Boone tried until 5 and still couldnt get it open. Finally they took the air conditioning out and I climbed through to open the door from the inside.Hotel room itself could do with a good cleaning. They had obviously not switched out the towels and rags, and that makes me worry about the beds although the beds appeared clean. I will say that the outside male maintenance worker was extremely polite and trying his best to help us. I dont blame him whatsoever. He even grabbed my cat when he ran out of the air conducting hole so he wouldnt run away.
I stayed with my 2 teenage kids 5 days. We enjoyed the stay. The rooms were well kept and clean. The staff is friendly and professional. There werent any problems with our reservations. They actually want customers to save$$$ so they Suggest booking online. Which is to me a BIG +++. Had I known pets were allowed I would have brought my 🐈.. Thank you Red Roof Inn for a peaceful and relaxing motel experience. Ms. Rj
For the price the rooms are decent. I like the fact your pets can stay free of charge. I do not like that the only way you will receive some kind of air circulation is by turning the air on or cracking the room door. There is a window but it does not open. Rooms get really humid. Front desk clerk is very kind and pleasant. Perfect area for a motel to be. There are gastations, 7 eleven, Bob Evans, and parks close by.
I lived here for about two and a half weeks for work. Overall I got about what I expected from a motel. The service at the main desk was quite poor, slow, and seemingly no care or sense of urgency for the customer. The motel seemed understaffed because in order to go find toilet paper for another guest I was booted from the main office and waited outside until the employee returned. My room was not tidied up every day, which I dont really care too much about but some people may. There were bugs in one of the beds. One of the employees at the front desk was very friendly though! It was much appreciated.
If I could give a lower score then a 1 star then I would. The first room we had had garbage on the floor. A, what I hope was, a brownie under the bed. Toilet seat was broken. The drawers were screwed shut. The box spring was falling apart and there were stains on the bed. Our other family members were down the hall. Their room stunk and was just as dirty. We asked to be moved to a different room. They said we were getting the best rooms in the place! And apologized profusely. The first thing we did was look under the bed. ANIMAL FECES. Let me repeat that. ANIMAL FECES!!!!! Was under the bed. We looked no further. Out of that room and hotel we went.Quality Inn down the road is great!!
ABSOLUTE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Made a reservation for a quick stop to catch some sleep on our 16 hour road trip and when we showed up the front desk lady said they gave our room away!!!!! Just what a traveler wants to hear with two dogs and a long trip of little rest. IT GETS BETTER...we leave and end up finding somewhere else..come to find out that Red Roof charged a $50 fee for no show! No show!? We showed up and there was no room for the reservation we made. All the lady at front desk had to say was that it’s the third party we booked through that charged which was wrong after I called my bank to dismiss the charge, it was indeed a charge through Red Roof. She also said that charge was due to the fact that we did not call the day of to confirm our reservation. Come here if you want no room and a charge to your card!
Im an over the road trucker and stay a day in Joliet every other week. My stay was fantastic. The room was better than some other hotels near by that charges $130 plus pet deposit and Red Roof was only $55 and no pet deposit at all. I will be making this hotel my go to from now on.
As soon as I entered my room, there was this strong chemical odor that motels have, but this one was the worst. Everything is old and broken in the room. Do yourself a favor, pay another ten dollars and get an okay motel. I started disrespecting myself in that room. I DESERVE a better place to stay than this old rat room.
Red roof inn, Joliet Illinois. The computer chair in the room was broke. Could not be sat in at all. Went to the front desk to inform them. They said ok, but never came to replace it. Had a double bed, the bed that is closer to the entrance door. Had black lint balls in the bed. It also had yellow stains and lipstick stains. It clearly looked as if the sheets had not been changed. The pillow cases also appeared to have lipstick stains and other stains and appeared not to be fresh linen. I Called the front desk to inform them of the situation. The response I received was. We change all of our sheets. I let her know I didnt call to debate. Im calling to let you know. What I see. She then told me that I can come to the front desk and get clean sheets. I did and I changed the sheets. But hell I dont work here.
I dont recommend staying at the red roof inn if you are looking for amenities. It is simply a place to sleep. The rooms are smaller than I expected. It states we have a no smoking room but the cigarette burn on the comforter tells another story. There are also stains on the bedsheet. The ice bin has ashes/burn marks as if it were used as someones ashtray. There is no in room refrigerator or breakfast. The in room safe will not function because the battery is too low. After we left for the afternoon we came back to a very wet musty smell. I am not one to complain I am simply stating what I have seen so far. What is ok so far... the tv works and has like 30 channel options and the A/C is nice and cold.
WiFi doesnt work (at all). When I inquired about this, the front desk staff were extremely rude and informed me the wifi hadnt worked for a long time anywhere in the building and since I had already reserved the room I was just out of luck.No coffee in lobby as advertised....its been broken for weeks as told by the front desk staff.Paint on the ceiling is flaking off all over the room.Mattresses absolutely disgusting with dirt and stains.
Had to ask for room change twice after room smelled of smoke and door dead bolt did not work. Door jam looked like someone broke in. Police were outside when I walked my dogs. People were sitting outside in the corridor on room chairs smoking. Constant prowling of cars in parking lot. I was too tired to drive elsewhere. But I should have. I slept in my clothes for obvious reasons. The front desk lady was nice. I asked to see a room first so she made a card for me and sent me there. When I opened the door, there was someone in the shower...and stuff all about in the room. Just another example of why everyone needs to remember to throw the security latch when in the room. BAD !!!
This is a run down place. As you will see in the video the bathroom door has been banged up and the tub is in need of a good rinsing with hard water remover. There are two very good points---very good wifi and the matress in my room was great. Those are the most important items we look for in a room.Photos #2 showing outlets. In that photo there are 5 outlets#3 fridge and microwave#4 light cover needs to be replaced. They tried to remodel the room but really did it on the cheap side.#5 bathtub needs to have a really good acid wash to it.#6, 7 & 8 the door to the bathroom has really been banged up. You got to wonder what the heck went on in this room that the door has been banged up that much?#9&10 showing the ceiling and the lousy patch and paint job they did.
Zero stars if i could.... there was body hair and stains on our sheets and the room smelled like sewer. Front desk girl offered us clean sheets but wasnt able to give us a different room. Then was told she couldnt refund our money that Priceline would have to. Save yourself the head ache and the bed bugs and book elsewhere
Positive- I dont think they have bedbugs- peaceful restNegative- AC not working in room 228- No fridge-no breakfastI would not go out of my way to stay here again. I would try competition and only come here as a last resort. Get yourgame up. Definitely not up to Red Roof standards.
We checked in November 21. It’s Friday November 24 Since we have been here no room service. Had to go and get our towels from the front desk. I called two days in a row. No room services. I was assured I would have room service today as well as yesterday. Still come back to a room that hasn’t been clean. No clean towels no soap. Nothing. I pay to stay in a. Hotel. I should have a clean room and clean towns. This is the one in Joliet Illinois. Donough st.
This was the first I stayed in A Red Roof Inn and the last. Walked in the room and the temperature outside was 30 degrees and inside temp felt the same. It took a long for it to time warm up. I waited about 15 minutes and went to front desk and told them about it, and he said did you turn the heat on and I said yes. Then he tells me it will take time for it to warm up. You could not sit there and wait for it so left for a couple hours. Noise as hell at 2am people playing the music outside in there car. I would not recommend staying here.
I called ahead to try to change my reservation but was told the could not change anything because I had booked through Expedia, called Expedia and they said I could only make changes through the hotel chain. When I arrived, they had me in a single King room instead of a double bed room. At first they said they didnt have one available yet, but then started she could not make any changes to our reservation even if I paid more right then. The room we were given had peeling paint and happy n the floor and in the shower. The garbage was totally full and didnt look like it has been emptied in a long time. Its a pet friendly room, so I would hope they would block off under the bed so animals couldnt hide I under Neath, but didnt, so my car sent the night under the bed that had probably never been cleaned as there was an old sock and several alcoholic beverage bottles with dust on them.
Seriously STAY AWAY!!!! Refrigerator didnt work. Microwave nuked your food. Remote broken. Locked out of my room 3 times (lock needs repairing) smoke free room smelled like a damn ash tray. It wasnt just our room, we came with Family and ALL had problems. No heat in rooms had to switch rooms. I understand we get what we pay for but DAMN! I have forever been traumatized and will NEVER stay at anything like this again.....Do yourself the biggest favor and pay an extra 20 bucks a night or deal with back pain from those cigarette filtered mattresses.
Cool for low budget, but thats exactly what it is low budget. Everything about the place was low budget if it was new it was low budget replacement. Who is old it was just old. Staff was decent but you could tell the hotel was on the lower budget side of town. I would give it a two and a half star but can only give a 2 or a 3 star. I would stay there again if all I had was $60 to stay in a hotel, but might consider a 3 star Express deal first.
The blankets were dirty and had burn holes in them. The sheets had hair all over them. The towels had hair on them and were stained. There was no toilet paper when we checked in. And the room smelled musty. Everything was moist. Yes. Moist. Wont ever be staying at a Red Roof Inn again.
Very, very unhappy about the service at our hotel. Due to traveling delays had to arrive at 11 p.m. Keys didnt work, no parking, very, very slow staff at the front desk, and not helpful at all. If this was my first stay at a Red Roof Inn, it would be my only stay. The door lock system to our room was so poor, our dead bolt lock would not work. Room only partially cleaned. Come on, Red Roof Inn, you can obviously do better than this.
On 5/3 in the afternoon, I called to make a reservation with the front desk so that I could use my corporate discount. (Online was advertising $71 a night.) She said they only had rooms with a king size bed available for $199 first night and $119 and the corporate discount wouldnt work. I questioned the price and she said there must be something going on this weekend. I thanked her for her time and told her I just couldnt afford that rate. I called the Red roof inn right down the road in Monee and received the advertised price plus my corporate discount was accepted. $199 a night for Red Roof Inn?! Come on now. ):
I wont fault the hotel for the people in the next room. However, I will fault them for not having the room clean for me when I arrived. Rock salt covered the whole room including the bathroom. Imagine stepping on sharp gravel getting out of the shower. The garbage wasnt emptied and I had no coffee cups for the coffee or tea. The towels were nasty and one of the bars of soap was opened already with the wrapper missing, gross. How am I supposed to know if someone used it or not? I am normal a glass half full type a person and that is why they got 2 stars.
When I arrived, only 1 person was attending the front desk and there was 1 person in front of me. That being said, it took about 15 minutes before I was assisted. I was told that due to an issue with housekeeping, there were not clean rooms yet for the type of room I had booked (king sized bed). I was offered a different room but preferred to wait for what I had paid for. When I was given a key for my room, upon arriving to the room I found that the housekeeper was still in there cleaning it. Once she left, I went inside and was sorely disappointed. The room had a strange smell, there was hair in the sheets as well as stains, and a portion of the sheet was ripped. There were many stains and marks on the floor. The bathroom was dirty, the shower had hair in it, and the shower knob had water spots on it indicating recent use. The only thing in the bathroom was 1 bar if soap. This is the first hotel I have ever been in which did not have shampoo for the guest. Also there appeared to be some mold in the shower cracks, and if it wasnt mold it was very syained in dirt. The panels on the nightstands were also very dirty. After my experience here, I can confidently say that it is extremely unlikely that I will ever frequent this Red Roof inn location, or in general, and other hotel in the entire franchise.
I am currently staying at this location tonight and i was so impressed by how personable and real the staff is. The front desk attendant was amazing and thr house keepers are so nice. I saw a lot of single moms and one i got to speak to that had to take their child to work. As a single mom, that just warmed my heart. They are some amazing women in this place and they take care of their guests and employees as best as they can. Keep up the amazing work! From one single mom to another. You doing us all a service by being not only hard workers but also hard working moms. I will always come back to this location anytime i need to be in town!!! So proud of these women working it out!!! Reguardless of what some of the other reviews say, i am really impressed with this establishment. Mostly because of the people running it.
This was suppose to be a smoke-free facility. The clerk had to change our rooms twice because both rooms reeked of smoke, both tobacco and other smoke. The final room he placed us in was an accessible room and did not have heat control. Heat registers was located near the ceiling so did not circulate and fan in bathroom did not work.
Computer was slow so took a while to get room. Staff was friendly.Filthy rooms. Carpet covered with debris. Bathroom was wet next to tub from previous occupant. Foot prints on floor in bathroom. TV remote didnt work totally. Clock radio on night stand was broken. It was quiet.
Room wasnt ready quite on time (about one hour delay) and had numerous issues with access cards. Rooms werent in the best shape, but no major issues. Clean but clearly needing some maintenance. Customer service was very good and helpful through the issues. I might stay again but wouldnt consider a Red Roof as my first choice in the future.
What a gross place to stay. Booked last minute as we just needed a place to sleep on our way through. Got a non-smoking room but the room stunk as soon as we got in. Bathroom was unkept and maintenance is definitely an issue. Will never recommend this chain to anyone. Would think management would check out the reviews on here and care to make some changes.
The first day we were here they gave us a room with a naked man inside. When they gave us another room it was not the room type I had reserved. The phones did not work in all the rooms and the room smelt old. While we were staying here we had several issues with the wifi. There was a stretch of time where the wifi was down for two days before they finally called someone. This location is close to food and not far from shopping centers.
Quiet, nice spot. But they need to stop guests from parking rear of vehicle towards the room doors as their are gaps that allow toxic car exhaust fumes into the rooms interiors while cars are turned on. Such fumes have been proven and known to make thousands of individuals unknowingly or knowingly sensitive extremely ill.
First I would like to say customer service is key. I booked this hotel on hotwire and paid for the hotel. I have stayed there multiple times for work. I am a lineman I work 15 hour shift I come to the hotel for sleep and shower that is all. I booked the hotel and paid for it and was denied a room because of a dnr list I ask the owner why I was put on the dnr list and he could not answer me I was told he didnt have a reason. The owner had no concern nor did he even try to correct the situation after spending money at his hotel previous stays he showed no type concern. I have never been so insulted the careless attitude was shocking. I will never spend a dime at this hotel nor will I recommend this hotel my co-workers and friends I know may review may not mean anything But I will say thank you to the owner Hardy P. for showing me how you value your guest and where not to spend my hard earned money. It is amazing how people will take your money but give you sub par customer service.
Disgusting. Terrible. Stinky. Just a few simple words to describe how absolutely disgustingly dirty this place is. First room they booked us in we walked into it smelling like a dumpster. Floor wasnt even vacuumed. Tub was black, literally had black foot prints in it. NOTHING was clean at all. We went to the office to complain and they sent in someone. He tries to vaccum the floor but you could clearly see that the bag on the vaccum needed to be changed because it kept spitting the dirt right out. Then he sprayed the tub ran water over it and that was it. The AC wasnt working at all and it was 98 degrees outside, so it was extremely hot in this disgusting room. I went to office and flipped they changed our room. This wasnt as bad but it was dirty. I had to clean the room myself, and the AC was so loud my husband hardly got any sleep. Mind you the housekeeping staff was sitting outside on the stairs playing on their cell phones. This was by far the absolute worst experience my husband or myself have ever had. I would never ever recommend anyone to stay in this dump!!
This was by far the nastiest place I have ever seen, I had to change room two different times, because the first one the Ceiling was falling apart, and there was ants all over the floor. So I switch rooms. But OMG I walked in the next room and there was a used Vibrator right there on the table between the phone a the tv remote🤢. I will say the Manager was really Professional, she did give me my refund back without any problems, and she also got on her cleaning crew for their horrible job. But I will never go there ever again 🙅🏾♀️
It was a great location. The rooms were wonderfully refurbished. Front desk services were really nice and friendly. My only complaints are that every room should have a microwave and the Wi-Fi connection needs to be stronger. Other than that its a great place to stay.
Room was not clean, remote didnt work, and when advised, instead of bringing it to the room, I went to the front desk to get it.... asked for and was approved late check out of 1230, and when 11:00 a.m. rolled around they were banging in the door telling me to get out, or pay for another day. When advised of late checkout approval, the female at the front desk said she knew nothing about it. Staff apparently doesnt communicate with each other and when advised of arrangements will not honor them. Rude staff, room not clean, poor all around. I will not be back to the Red Roof Inn in Joliet, Illinois
This was the worst hotel my husband and I have ever been to. Not only was there thugs all outside walking past our door all night but also when we walked in DONT BELIEVE THE PICTURES! The rooms are absolutely gross and tiny. We laid down for literally 10 minutes to watch a football game and I all of a sudden was itching my arm and then saw my husband itching! We left and will never go to another red roof inn. Spend $50 more dollars and go to Lexington suites in Joliet they helped us get a room quick and we were in a great room and slept great. Clean room and nice people. Really.... Dont go to red roof in...GROSS. Save yourself the waste of time because I promise you that youll check out as quickly as you checked in!
So I booked through hotels.com on 9/24 and I was told by the desk clerk that I had some issue with my card I booked with which I was supposed to pay on site then and then she canceled my booking while I was standing there and then the day after I called hotels.com to make a complaint and fix this issue the staff there hung up on him they arent very nice or professional front desk people
I ask for a singel bed and had to pay for a double . There is more water pressure water out of the hose then in the tub. The tub need to replaced allong with the mattress .Called for to the front desk and after 10 rings no answer. No heat. Called back still no answer. There was instructions on the heater. After the 3 times of trying to get ahold of the office I got ahold of the office.
Dirty place, room very dirt, floors very dirty and full of dust. towels and bed sheet full of stain, you have to leave a couple $ in an envelope, if not they dont change your towels, or put a new toilet paper. AC make a lot noise need to turn off to sleep, not microwave or refrigerator. People outdoor drinking beer every where very disgusting place very low class people. I dont recommend to a family stay here. Thanks god i was here for a few days for business. I believe the suburb is not very good. THE CHEAP IS EXPENSIVE.
Heat set at 85 making whatever freshener they use reek, had to air out the room, turn on th AC. Temporary fix after door was closed. Light over sink not working, neither fluorescent tube. The curtain pull came off hit me in the head because it wasnt actually attached. Obviously no real attention to overall quality. Wish I would have read the reviews. Too late now.
I booked a room at the Joliet Red Roof Inn weeks in advance, specifically a handicapped accessible room, as I am wheelchair bound. I received a confirmation number. The morning of my stay, I called ahead and spoke to “Nicole” to confirm my reservation, and confirm I was booked into an ADA room which I was.We arrived at 10:00PM that night, only to find they not only had us in a non-ADA room, but also had us on the second floor, with NO ELEVATOR. The counter person said we NEVER reserved an ADA room, but changed his tune when I showed him the email confirmation. He then said the occupants of my actual room where “out” for the night, but we “hang around” until they return, and see if they would switch rooms. Are you kidding me???I said that was unacceptable, and we would stay elsewhere. He then said that we would be charged for the room anyway, because WE were cancelling the stay. Again, are you kidding me??? I told him to cancel the charge on my credit card or I would dispute it anyway, and then turn the whole matter over to my lawyer, and every TV station in the area. He finally agreed to cancel the charge, and I drove the 3 hours back to my home. Obviously I will NEVER stay at a Red Roof Inn as long as I live, and I advise you not to also. The employees are disrespectful and unreliable in their duties.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!! My door was opened 4 times in a one night stay. Three times by staff and once by a guest given a key to my room for his stay. Definately not safe for a woman traveling alone!! Besides the absolute filth found in the bathtub microwave icebucket and floors!!! It wont allow me to post zero stars let alone the negative number Id like to post!!
Room Clean . Kinda smells like an animal may have been living in this room for a while smell won’t go away !! But beside that everyone here has been very friendly also front desk lady is the BEST not sure her name but she’s pretty nice and will help you with anything you need . I haven’t had any issues ....OHHHH I FORGOT THE DOG POOP IS EVERYWHEREEEEEE LOOK BEFORE TAKING A STEP INTO GRASS LOL !!!And there are NO CAMERAS OUTSIDE THE ROOMS NOT SAFE AT ALL !!!!!!!!!!
Great room and service BUT he only thing I disliked is that when I tried to extend my week I couldnt because my room was already booked. They would rather give the room to someone for one night instead of me, who is staying there for weeks at a time. Many of my coworkers had to find a new hotel after a week because of that. Its the first hotel ive been to that will book your room to someone else smh
Welp this place is hood af. Worst Red Roof Inn property I ever stayed at. And I stay in them all over. However this place has done it for me. If you want to hear people fighting. As well as having other people. Show up for the fight. With guns and etc. stay here. I had to call the cops in the middle of the night. Afraid my co-driver and I were going to die. A long with music and smell of weed. It was like we were in the projects apartment building from hell. We not going to get into the staff around there. After the debacle on Friday night. We called our company and got out of there. Throw the whole establishment away. Guest services at the 800 number needs to be fired also! I wont give another Red Roof Inn my hard earned money!
Decent, clean, fair for the price. Could use a little updating but still fair for price. Only real problem I had was loud guest. Idk if it’s the area or if they just don’t attract the best people. I did feel a lil unsafe because of that but the noise went away after 10pm so it wasn’t so bad. That isn’t there fault i’m Sure
I called to make reservations because I knew from past stays and Internet listings that this place was pet friendly. Pet friendly with discrimination..I was told they only accept small dogs because big dogs do too much damage.. Really? So take your remodeled rooms I will stay somewhere else that accepts all of our family members. Like the Roadway Inn !!!
We stayed the weekend for Nascar. We came earlier than the 3pm check in time. Just to see if there was any luck if we could get our room so we can get ready to head to the race. The minute we walked into the office David had a rude attitude said that no rooms are ready! We then explained that for the past four years red roof was always so kind and found a room available for checkin before 3pm. And David again with his sassy attitude said not ready until 3pm because they were SOLD OUT the night before (thursday 9/14). He said that he didnt need to check us in. So we waited! We came back at 3pm and David again with his attitude said, are you calm now? I thought i had to take off my belt and give you a spanking. I have a sucker, let me give you one for being goodThis was not professional behavior and I am not okay with how I was talked too. It made my stay very uncomortable.
Ive traveled for work all over the country, this is the first hotel Ive been to that will reserve your room to someone else while youre still in it. Rodeway inn next door isnt as modern but at least had a microwave and minifridge, and it was still clean. Harras was way.better if you can pay the rate. Manor house is also a better choice. Also, the drain stayed clogged and the air conditioner was verry noisy.
I pay attention to signs. Unlike people in the final destination movies. I go in bathroom to inspect, everything was ok. Come back a little later, water was on the floor. Didnt flush toilet or turn shower on. So why is water on the floor. And headed towards the light switch. Thats a sign to GTF out. So since I got allergy to the mixing of water and electric I GTF OUT

2022-05-16The first room we got had dried and wet blood stains all over the blankets and sheets. When we call the front she just says “sorry about that”. The building has 100% non smoking signs everywhere yet the whole place reeks of smoke, every other room had someone outside smoking, and our neighbors were smoking in their room with a child inside. Our second room still smelled of smoke, urine, and had mold lining the walls in the bathroom. I would NEVER stay here again. We have done 3 cross country road trips and always choose the least expensive option, but this was horrifying.

2022-03-13Positive: The price was decent for what the hotel was. Definitely not a fancy hotel, but clean enough, considering we are here for work and on a budget Negative: The staff was kinda rude! I would rather spend the extra money than stay there again! The staff were short, and unhelpful, and we even had a maid barge into our room without so much as knocking! And the pillows were TERRIBLE! So bad, I had to buy some

2022-06-13I got this hotel because I cannot drive in the dark anymore, I hit a deer about a month ago and it scarred me. We ended up not staying because of disappointing incidents. First she tells us that my 13 and 15 year old niece and nephew need an ID and when I say they don’t have one because they’re 13 and 15 she gets upset. Then we get into our room and the blankets have stains and holes in them, the bathroom door doesn’t shut, and there’s holes all over the wall. There was also sketchy people wandering outside the building and we felt very unsafe. I told the lady at the desk all of this and she refused to give a refund. Very disappointed.

2022-05-15Positive: Return to car to get more bags only to notice police cruising around parking lot that raised flags in my head. Definitely booked with folks hanging out on balcony socializing as it was 93 degrees & humid. Negative: Room water line switched, turn knob to right hot water. GFI outlet by sink did not work, unable to use hair dryer. Room ac running on high due to humidity with 93 degrees in May, ran all night but noisy that kept me awake, turned off at a/c at 1 am.

2022-06-19Room smelled so strong of cleaner had to keep door open for hours, which is weird cause it was still super dirty. Bathroom walls never been wiped down. Blood on sink backsplash in main room. There was this weird light fixture across wall that didnt work but was covered in gross stuff and full of bugs? Full of something wack.
