Room was fairly clean but toilet wouldnt flush it was clogged and there was a over bearing mold smell when you first arrived.they also are forgetting to pull the beds out and clean against the wall was a whole bag of chips along the box spring...only good part was thanks to Priceline I got a great price on the room lees than 60$ after tax. Thanks @priceline #priceline
It’s only one men in there that offers good customer service Shorty with the glasses the other dude he a fraud he toke a hold on my money after I pay for the room swear that I was going to get my money back by 11:30 once the room cleaner check everything when I called he switch his word saying that It will take bout 3-5 days but the night before shorty with the glasses ain’t take no hold so somebody doing they job wrong customer service very Bad will highly not recommend I got sick from being in the room Feeling sophisticated!!! very terrible they should fire him..
I am so sorry to post this review. I only do because the sheets behind the pillow on one bed had hair and on the other bed had glitter. Both beds had small black dots that I couldn’t discern. I called to front desk to have the sheets changed, the gentleman said housekeeping was gone but he would change the sheets but when I returned (moms weekend at my sons college) the situs on the sheets and under the pillow the same AND the room smelled like pot! The other odd thing was after I checked in someone called me to see if everything was ok - but honestly the oddest question/conversation my brain started thinking someone was harmed in this room. Sadly. Would absolutely not recommend:(
Positive: It was only a 10 minute drive to our tournament so it was convenient. It also had free parking, which was nice. Negative: We were put into a dirty room first, and they switched us to another room where the beds were hanging on the walls and cords were everywhere (like they just sprayed for bugs) then they put us in a bug invested room and we decided to get another hotel.
Updating my review based off my phone call I just had with the manager. Hella rude about me wanting my refund about the roach issue. They told me it would be another week until they had someone out to check the room for bugs. Will be contacting BBB about how to receive my refund and letting them know about the lack of care on the room
Positive: Price point, location Negative: The beds were a bit overly firm (but that is impossible for a motel to please 100% of the guests). One of the beds had a dirty-looking mark and hair in it, but it was only one so I wasnt totally grossed out (we all lose a hair now and then!)
First time staying here and it was amazing, the staff is very nice and polite, plenty of parking, restaurants and stores around the hotel. Mainly, the room was extremely clean, smelled like flowers when we walked in, the bed was super comfy, came with a mini fridge, microwave, nice size TV and desk for those traveling for business purposes! I give it 5 starts! 👍🏽😃
Room was tidy. Breakfast is donuts and coffee. Toilet is hard to flush. Bed and pillows are extremely uncomfortable and I could hear noise outside my door very easily, so I did not sleep well. People were talking outside my door until about 1 am and I woke up around 4 am to a vehicle and people talking. I dont consider myself a light sleeper, but the noise sounds like they are right next to me.
I went to this hotel at 4:30 am and was told by Lensil “There was no rooms available”. After circling the lot to exit. I noticed that 75% of the property was vacant. I went back inside and explained I work late and just needed a room until 11 and I can be a late check in. He then told me no to leave.
Very clean! Staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. Our room was updated and clean with a spotless bathroom. You do get what you pay for and the breakfast was basic with a few muffins, donuts, coffee and juice. The highlight for me was the tall shower. As a tall person, I appreciate it when I dont have to break my back to wash my hair. If youre looking for an inexpensive, clean place to stop on your trip, I would recommend this business.
Terrible staff....well actually just the owner or manager...I left a lil Bluetooth speaker..the maintenance guy found it..I called the next day and he wouldnt listen or let me talk to the guy. Also 2 men assaulted a friend of mine while she was outside smoking. After all of this he refused to give my deposit back..w absolutely no damage to room or any explanation to why. He just said no... unbelievable. Do not go here..terrible terrible terrible experience. The worst hotel in Champaign. A refrigerator box on skid row would have been a better choice.
I previously wrote a bad review regarding a missing item I forgot in my room. I had been cleaning out a storage unit and the missing item had fallen behind a bag. I have deleted that bad review. The manager was still a bit creepy/aggressive when he kept asking for a credit card for security purposes. If he had said I need a credit card number as a security since you booked the room through a separate travel site or something like everything would be fine. The room was wonderful as always. There was even a dog in the room next door and we never heard it bark.
Just checked in to this hotel that my employer reserved for me. It’s really clean, comfortable and cozy. I wish all the red roofs were like this one.Oh btw. I really thank the young men at the front desk for calling in after I checked in to see if everything was okay with the room. Plus a big thank you for asking me if I wanted a 1st or 2nd floor room. Not all places that I stay ask you that. 1st floor for me please and thank you. 👍👍
Called the Rewards line to book a Deluxe King with two small dogs. Arrived at hotel for check in and sent to room. Double bed standard room. Everytime I stay at this site I end up getting screwed. They offered to change the room but I had already unloaded the luggage. why was the reservation not properly followed thru to begin with? This isn’t rocket science.
This was the worst experience I have ever had. A man looking in windows. Asked me to get him a room. A Homeless drunk man running into the building. He could barely stand up. So much Illegal activity. I am handicap with 1 leg clear in the back and very scared. I had a Dr Appt and didnt want to drive 50 miles back home. I asked for help with my wheelchair and the evening manager did not want to help me. I left just before dark and drove back home in the dark. Never again..... not even 1 star but I had to give a rating.
Nice staff! Room was decent and seemed clean. Was woken up at 3 in the morning with yelling, arguing, crazy people. Didnt fall asleep rest of the night. Sleep is most important feature for us staying at hotel so it sucked. People smoking outside their doors all over the place.
AVOID......AVOID.....AVOID.....If I could I would give ....0....Very rude employee at the front deskSmelly rooms- had to change roomThey were hairs in the sheets- had to change sheetsMy Room was very noisyBe aware, This place is next to highwayall night as if the busses were passing inside my room- so noisy that my wife and I could not sleep all night-We had 2 night reservation but decided to leave early to go to another hotel after the first nightWhen I asked for a refund for the second night they refused to approve since my reservation was made through ExpediaAnd Expedia claimed that redroofin has to approvewhen I confronted the red roof inthe front desk lied , argued and used vulgar language for just not to refund the second nightI travel quite a bit and I Never had this kinda rude and disrespectful experience in my lifestay away from this place at any costGo somewhere else if you want a good night sleep and don’t want to be treated disrespectfully
Three star hotel with a one Star price. I went totally on the reviews I read online which I usually take with a HUGE grain of salt and look at the cheap A price and keep going, BUT this time I took a chance. SO glad I did. The staff was friendly, and the room was extremely clean. It came with a microwave and a mini fridge and two double beds with crisp white sheets, fresh pillowcases, bed was very nice. Better than 2 of the 3 star hotels I have stayed in in the Champaign area. The only complaint if I could have one is no hairdryer. But the front desk had one that I used. Their breakfast is just coffee and juice and small muffins but with the money I saved here, they basically bought me a huge breakfast at Dennys so I do not complain. I will most definitely stay here again.
It’s a one night stand motel and treated as such. My room was dated, smelled musty, there was a stain on the shower towel, the microwave & fridge was dusty, the toilet was cracked and slow flush, the sink water wouldn’t drain if running......the motel and room is sketch!I had a problem with the WiFi called front desk & she said she would call me back - never did. Spoke to house keeping about cleaning the room and they seem to be the mother & father of the owner or front desk manager. Not to mention I asked housekeeping to re-clean/clean my room. I was told by the dad “You must be new”; What does that even mean??? I rather paid more somewhere else for 1-night of comfort & cleanliness.
Wish I could give 0 stars but I am not able to. Stayed here for a football game and were probably only in the room for 20 minutes before going to the game. The room smelled like a gym locker room with a sewage leak and there appeared to be feces on the floor and the ironing board. But it gets better! We were locked out of our room at 2AM for approximately 2 hours before the owner was finally able to get us into our room. I told the owner I refused to pay for the room and he said best he could do was a discount so we packed up our stuff and left. To my utter surprise, he still charged us full price for the room even though we didn’t stay there. I called and tried to compromise with the owners but they cared 0%. Please, if you are reading this, do not make the worst mistake of your life.
I got some nice sleep. It was quite and warm room. Downfall is no breakfast. Not even a continental breakfast. And having the coffee all the way at the front office is not good. Especially during winter months having to get up walk all the way over to office. And water was not hot enough. And what I saw this morning as we were leaving top floor. There was not 1 light on. Staircase was dark. Someone could fall. NEED LIGHTING!!!!!!! FOR SAFTEY
The deluxe king room was smaller than it seems online, but thats normal with most hotel rooms. It was decently clean and we had a non-smoking room. There was a problem with our keys not working in the doors on the second morning of the stay but the staff was prompt with fixing the issue. Overall, it was pretty good for the price.
This hotel is okay, and will do if youre only there for a night or two. The rooms are slightly run down; the sink faucets were loose, and of course the style is out of date but that doesnt matter. However, I feel like the customer service could be a little more welcoming. The breakfast bar in the morning is nice; theres not a big selection by any means but its something to get you going until you can get a full meal. Overall it was nice.
This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms are beautiful and very low priced. They are worth much more than what they ask for. The bed are comfortable and everything is so clean. The staff is beyond incredible. My husband and I got stuck in our tent in a storm and we came here to find a room to stay dry. They helped us with our belongings and allowed us to dry them here so they wouldnt get ruined. They went above and beyond for us and I cannot even express how grateful I am for this hotel and its staff. Stay here!!! You wont be disappointed!
I made a reservation over the phone while driving back from college at about 10 pm, and didnt get there until 11 pm. This was not a problem and the staff was very helpful in finding me an accommodating and affordable room. I went straight to sleep when I got there. The bed was comfy and bug free (I checked thoroughly). The rest of the room was clean as well, and I would definitely stay there again if I was passing through the area. Picked up a muffin and coffee on my way out too (muffins and juice/coffee were the only breakfast choices).
Its been a few years since I last stayed at a Red Roof. The room seemed nicer. Bed comfortable. Very nice TV, decent cable channel selection. The fridge and microwave were helpful. The desk/workarea was spacious.Combine all that with them being among the least expensive in the area, I would recommend them.
Decently clean and updated and reasonable price. Staff is very friendly. Pets are allowed on the property, which as a pet owner, I appreciate. However, if someone leaves a pet unattended and it barks its fool head off at midnight, there isnt anything the staff can/will do about that. The walls are thin and I can actually hear another couple also complaining about the barking dog. Im writing this at midnight and trying to decide whether or not to switch rooms.
Rooms were okay beyond the fact that the toilet in our first room was continuously running and leaking. The TV remote in our second room didnt work, but we were too tired to say anything until the next day. Beyond thay, the staff was very friendly and understanding. It was a nice and cozy room for a great price.
The hotel grounds and rooms themselves were well kept and clean. The staff was pleasant and courteous. We did find a field mouse in our room. The sink would not drain and the toilet would not flush. We did notice alot of traffic coming and going that did not seem to be motel guests, kinda shady things going on. We were awaken to a serious fight outside our room at 4am and called the police. We were scared for our safety and did not sleep well the rest of the time. Will not be back.
Do not stay at the red roof inn in Champaign. I waited a bit to say this , gave them a chance to make it right but nothing has been done. I stayed there over night before the funeral and the bed spread and blankets had stains on them. Very obviously not clean. The sheets seemed ok. The toilet roll had 3 squares on it thankfully they left a spare, and the manager concurred that the soap and shampoos were not supplied correctly. Thankfully I did not find bed bugs. I called the manager up to the room and showed her my concerns and while she was polite, there was zero follow up as promised.Too bad because the place looked nice if they maintained it correctly. I feel bad for recommending it to my family.
Pretty gross. I had to go get new towels as ours was stained and the lady didnt even apologize and just stared. The shampoo and soap was just tossed in the tub. The worst is our sheets were literally dirty when we got into bed, again, didnt even apologize for it. They dont clean the comforters either obviously as theres stains. Dont stay here.
It was a decent stay. Beds are not so comfortable and i didnt like that they didnt have breakfast. The woman who was in charge of cleaning the rooms was amazing. She went above and beyond her duties and went as far as to buy our daughters punching balloons because they had seen balloons in the trash the day previous to the day she bought them. The rooms were nice and clean. Pet friendly. I would definitely stay here again.
We read the reviews and decided to give them a try anyway. Our stay was wonderful, the front desk manager was extremely helpful and polite. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We extended our stay 2 more days because of the wonderful atmosphere and service we received.
We arrived late. I called ahead to make sure they didnt give away the room. The gentleman working the counter at around 3am on Sunday May 29 was exceptional. The room was clean when we got there. The only thing is someone knocked at our door at around 1045 am when we were just waking up. We had our dog with us so she started barking at the knock. No one said who they were and by the time we opened the door no one was there. Overall it was a great experience.
Incredible. They have truly done a number on this place. Miguel the night time clerk, the owner and the rest of the staff are very helpful and friendly. The new rooms are impeccable- just see the pictures. I paid $48 for this luxurious king room with HD TV, all the amenities and this place now offers free breakfast. Thank you for taking care of your guests. I have been to many many Red Roofs and this one is my all time favorite. Way to go.
Ok. So, this room cost $45. Im not expecting a whole lot. So heres a review that will help like minded folks:1. The bed is a little uncomfortable. Its both stiff, springy, and you can feel the springs. However, for $45 it beats sleeping in my car. This bed would be a deal breaker if I paid more than $70 for the room.2. The pillows are soft and supportive. The only problem I have is that they are small and they only give you 4 (king room).3. The room is roughly 200 square feet. What you see in the pictures is what you get. Again, $45 not hoping for much.4. The room smells weird. It smells like someone had smoked in here (against the rules) and they had to fix it. Not a big deal, thanks for trying to fix it5. Shower is a shower.6. Microwave and fridge are small but a nice addition!7. black out curtains are a nice touch. All in all, 4 out of 5 only because of the bed being so uncomfortable. Dont pay more than $65 for this room, but if youre in a pinch and want the cheapest room in town, you wont be disappointed here.
Wonderful staff! I accidentally booked the wrong size room and they upgraded me free of charge just to make me happy. I was so impressed with the staff i will be sure to come back if im ever in Champaign again! The rooms were clean, the stay was quiet and i couldnt be happier. I highly recommend staying here. The prices are a steal for what you get!
Conditions in rooms horrible. Pet friendly=wet dog smell. At 3am I awoke to a mouse in the room, eating my sealed food.... Mouse droppings in the bed, behind fridge. Luckily nice staff moved me to a new mouse free room. But the owner needs to get major cleaning and extermination done.
My family is from the area , we travel in “many” times year. This is the place we stay every time. My mother and extended family as well. In 11 years making the frequent trips I can’t remember any reason to not refer anyone to this place. Why pay more down the street.
Room was decent and clean, however a bit small. The rate is low enough however. The walls seem kind of thin, as you can easily hear people outside. Doesnt include continental breakfast but they do have coffee juice and muffins in the morning. Located right next to I-74 and Neil Street, so its really to get around town (the hard part is finding somewhere to park when you get there).
So pleased with the service here! I became stranded in Champaign when driving through and my car broke down. I was greeted by a very friendly front desk woman named Hannah. She was so kind and helpful and made a slightly stressful situation so much better! I would recommend staying here. The room was clean and nice as it looks recently re modeled. Comfy bed and pillows!
Night time front desk staff member Chris was great! We were traveling through very late at night without a reservation. He was so very timely, attentive, accommodating, kind and efficient. Hard to find in this industry. A/C was ice cold. Room was clean and decent. Nothing fancy of course, but very good for a cheap room. Thanks Chris!
Clean room and nice bed, but drains in sink and shower drained slow, you ended shower standing in water! Call to front desk was useless! They would report it to maintenance! No offer for another room? Plus when I left and asked for a receipt they charged me for the room again!??? Got to call back and talk to a manager. 😥
I have been loyal to Red Roof Inn due to their pet policy, but this location is crawling with mice. I stayed in Room 111 last night and had to switch rooms in the middle of the night because I saw mice run across the floor twice. Every time I turned off the lights and TV, I could hear them in the walls and under the bed. This morning, the desk agent denied the problem because they didnt see mouse droppings on the floor. They plan to rent the room again this evening and insinuated I was lying to get a refund. This hotel is trash.
I dont understand why people are giving bad reviews to this hotel!!Its a budget hotel where you find all the facility you look for. I was recently to this hotel, booked non smoking room, however the room they gave me was some how not non smoking, I brought this issue into reception staff noticed, they immediately changed my room. The new room was clean, nice bathroom, AC was working well ( but no iron and board in room). I stayed there for two days, for one day there was no shampoo in the room (so giving 4 stars rating), overall I recommend this hotel, if you are not into fancy things and want to save some bucks!
We came to this hotel as a high school team. Four of us stayed in room 248. It was all good UNTIL... there where only 2 towels and 3 wash clothes. With deeper inspection my bed was oddly wet, pillow had piss stains on it on top of a variety of dirt, suspicious white stains on the wall, and are fridge leaked. Then we turned on the A.C. Unit which smelled like a fire, and the floor was sticky. All in all there are better hotels just down the road.
COCKROACH INFESTED CRACK DENGross! The first room they gave me wasnt cleaned. 2nd room was ... gross but turned at least that day. But when my toilet stopped flushing and I called the front desk she told me there was nothing she could do. Then showed up 10 minutes later, plopped a plunger on the ground in front of the bathroom door that I had closed because of the noise. And walked out.Yeah its cheap. But basic hospitality and sanitary restrictions come first!!!CRACKHEADS CAT CALLED ME FROM THE PARKING LOT AND COCKROACHES WERE IN THE FIRST DIRTY ROOM THEY GAVE ME A KEY TO.
I really enjoyed staying here. I stayed there for about 20 days total in. 30 day period. The rooms were clean, the staff was nice and understand. BUT, my last day there I forgot a baby rocker in the bathtub. I rinsed it off before I left and forgot it. I called later that evening to see if it was there along with an I d, an e b t card and a charger and they said they had the charger and THREW AWAY MY BABY ROCKER! I’m so upset!!! It was $40 and I just bought it. WHY WOULD YOU SAVE MY CHARGER AND THROW AWAY A BABY ROCKER?! They told me I had to receive it from the dumpster before 7 am tomorrow morning. I asked for them to get it for me so I don’t have to get up a 5 am , pack up 4 childern and drive back into town to get it out of the dumpster considering I didn’t put it there!!! I will never use this hotel room again after this. Almost all the workers there knew why I was there, what I was doing as a mother and a human being and they also had access to all my personal information and could of set it aside and called me to inform me it was there. I have NEVER heard of a hotel room throwing away a throwing away items. THE MAn I spoke to also laughed at me a bout me telling him to get the right rocker out for me.
Only giving this four stars because it’s totally the type of motel where you get exactly what you think you’re going to get. Nothing was wrong at all and staff was super friendly, but there wasn’t anything that blew us away.Hot water, a good shower, microwave and fridge in room, comfortable bed (you have to ask at be front desk for blankets, though), and not a super loud location, even though it’s next to the highway.Small “breakfast” is included and last minute rates are VERY low.Panera, Bob Evans, McDonald’s, Target, Meijer, and good gas stations are all close by.

2022-01-03Such a convenient location, not much right around the hotel though...grab anything you might need from the grocery store or gas station before settling in! Room was nice for the most part very comfortable. Shower pressure was low, but hey its a shower!Pets stay free!!! Can be left in the room if in a crate or not if they can be trusted to not destroy the room. Lady at the front desk was extremely sweet and talkative at 11:30pm! Very accommodating with adding an additional evening also. Overall decent place to stay! Will most likely stay here when we come back to town... were from NY!

2022-06-23We have stayed at Red Roof Inns across the country. We love that they welcome our dog. This location was by far the best we’ve ever experienced. The landscaping was beautiful and shows their pride. The room was clean and comfortable and nicely appointed. It felt like a high end fancy hotel. Thank you!!!!!

2022-06-26Convenient location just off the interstate and near shopping but the room had torn furniture, the day staff more interested in her cell phone than addressing an issue and the continental breakfast was almost non-existant with no place to comfortably eat in the lobby. Housekeeping was superb. The exterior needs some refreshing. Liked the 24 hour check-in and the night staff was welcoming.

2022-04-04Room was good, parking was fine. Our biggest complaint was the front desk worker for the late evening did not have a good grasp on the language. That is not usually a problem but if you have to answer questions for people as they call in, it helps to have the comprehension of the words theyre asking. He was nice however.

2022-05-23The room was very clean, no bugs at all. Im not sure why they have bad reviews. The staff was very nice and respectable. The hotel is in a nice area, very quiet. I felt safe!

2022-03-17I paid 100$ for the room plus 100 for the deposit. Everyone knows this is not a 100$ room but because they were busy I agreed. Of course rates go up! I came with a group and they got a different hotel so I didn’t even end up staying there just checked in and put my bags there then met my group at their hotel. I never received my deposit back, the bed was made not even touched. Most I did was use the bathroom. They have been giving me the run around for days. This hotel is a scam, don’t pay an deposit here!! You’ll never see it again.

2022-04-29It was a last minute stay as part of a longer trip. It was very peaceful and clean. Not to mention a great value. The staff was great as well. I’ll definitely stay here again if I’m ever back in the area

2022-07-04It was an older place but was clean. We only needed to stay one night. For our needs it was fine. Updating is needed, but there are attempts being made. Checking in was easy and Aplesh was kind, professional, attentive and welcoming. We went to Bob Evans for breakfast, I didnt inquire on any options available with our stay.

2022-06-27Wonderful, updated. Check in was easy, friendly, front desk even called our room a while later to make sure everything in the room was good. Cold AC, comfortable beds. Pet friendly!

2022-06-21The staff was nice and friendly, but there was definitely an odor in my room, and both the stopper for the sink and the tub did not work. The room was clean and well appointed though.
