PODS Moving & Storage in other cities:
I stored my belongings with PODS for a long time between moves - longer than I originally anticipated. When it came time to move into my new place dealing with PODS costumer service was a headache. I called at least 15 times, often getting conflicting information. Representatives withheld important information, and often had little knowledge of their own companys procedures. It all finally worked out, but because I took as much control away from PODS as possible. When I first used them they seemed like the simplest solution, but it turned out they were anything but. If Im ever in the situation of moving cross country again Ill try to do anything I can to avoid using them, purely because of the customer service experience. I gave them 2 stars because there was no real damage done to anything I shipped, and it was just a little dusty after storage.
Our third POD was not picked up on time (it was a day late) and that cost us an extra $2000 at closing on our house because it was still there. I spent over an hour on closing day on the phone trying to resolve the issue and was on hold most of the time while the agent tried to use the new computer system which apparently had some problems. Each time I called to schedule a delivery or pickup, it took at least 30 minutes on the phone. When I called to schedule final delivery of our first POD container, I was told that they did not know where it was. That was very disconcerting to me. Eventually, it was found (a digit was deleted from the number in your records) and delivered. Other than coping with delivery and pickup scheduling, the experience was good.
Used to move, but had to pick up the items myself from the warehouse as my final destination does not have suitable parking or allow permits to reserve a spot for PODS. It was easy to change plans to self pickup and empty the items from the POD in a truck I rented on my own.
Manager Bensenville, IL Location and ExpenseI contacted customer service on May 20th, 2022 to schedule delivery of my pod and pick up for the same day. The customer service representative assured me that my pod would be delivered around 9am and would be picked up later in the afternoon. On May 21, 2022 I contacted customer service after being notified that the pod would not be arriving until between 10am and 1:30pm. I informed the customer service representative that I needed time to empty the pod before it was picked up. I further explained that we were having a new driveway put in and did not want to have it damage by having the pod and or trucks on it at a later time. After raising concerns I was informed that Pods would not be dropping off my pod and that I would be charged a cancellation fee for the mistake they made. I was further advised that they would not waive any fees for their mistake. They informed me that they do not drop off and pick up the same day even though I had been assured they do on May 21,2022 by one of their representatives. When asked to speak with a manager I was informed that there was no process for complaints and that the manager was at the storage facility itself. She stated I was not able to speak with the manager of the storage facility directly. I asked if Pods had insurance for any damage to the new driveway or if they covered damage at which point I was informed they did not. I attempted to verify that the call was being recorded for future reference as customer service was not providing any resolution. The customer service representative would not state if it was or was not.She did indicate the manager handling the decisions was assigned or located at the Bensenville, IL location. The manager that was contacted on May 21, 2022 was working between the hours of 9am- 10:45am when two customer service representatives contacted the facility in relation to my issue.Overall, my experience has been expensive and horrible. The customer does not seem to matter to the organization or individual managers at all. No resolution was attempted to meet expectations set forth by their representatives during my initial call on May 21,2022.
NEVER EVER EVER EVER USE! Id rather watch my stuff burn than let PODS be involved in my moving / storage life again. Horrible customer service, incorrect or changing invoices, your customer portal will be incorrect so whats the point of it, and just a general sense of not caring. Sad thing is I heard all of this before and was hopeful my experience would be different. Mine was worse. Sell and buy all new
PODS excels in providing the worst-in-class consumer experience, period. They did not pick up my POD on time or communicate this with us. That was just the beginning. There is a severe lack of communication and competency. In an attempt to rectify my case, they have only worsened it and caused me excess strife and work. Denia Germosen, who supposedly handles my case, does not email or call and has an auto vacation email each Friday. I have documented transcripts and threads. I would caution anyone from ever having to endure my horrendous experience and NEVER book with PODs.
We had a month between selling our home and moving into our new place. PODS was so convenient. We loaded the pod, then a month later it showed up at our new place and we unloaded it. No storage issues and the driver did a great job of setting up the pod, even with limited options in the city.
At the local ends of my move from Chicago to LA, in particular at the Chicago end, PODS was absolutely terrible. I consider it a small miracle my household goods made the 2000 mile journey and to the correct destination. Perhaps this is the part they do well. The amount of extra stress I had to endure at the start of the process was unreal and entirely the fault of PODS. Their local storage centers seem to operate independent of central dispatch, do as they please, and seem to suffer no ramifications if they fail to do their job. They completely missed my scheduled pickup date and were so many days late actually picking it up, they had to reschedule the cross country transit. Did I ever receive and explanation for this collossal screw up? No I did not. It sounded like the rep at the storage center in Bensonville, IL felt he owed no explanation to anyone, not even the PODS reps who were reaching out to him. In the midst of this PODS also charged back the 10% veteran discount they offered me to my credit card. It took several phone calls and then several business days to get that sorted out. Their internal communication between dispatch, local storage centers, and City Service seems almost non existent. So, every single issue (and I had multiple) required a phone call to the main customer service number (which is the lowest level of service) only to then be escalated from one person to the next through their hierarchy (if it can be called that) or to City Service where I would have to re-explain the situation from scratch each time. If PODS service is intentionally designed to work this way, its diabolical. It seems too haphazard and inefficient to be intentional though. PODS couldnt pay me to use their service again and I should be reimbursed for evey part of my move except for the actual cross country transit. I had so little faith in them by the end, I hired movers to pick up my goods from the PODS storage facility instead of scheduling delivery of my container.
PODS made it super easy for us to stage our house for showings! We just boxed all our excess into the unit and locked it up on our driveway. Also made it accessible for the movers when they loaded our onto the truck. Such a convenient and hassle-free option when selling a house! We previously used them when we renovated, so we were well aware of the convenience. Love the service and the product! Couldnt ask for more:-)
PODS is seriously the worst. I made a reservation using the city service. The day before they were supposed to deliver the pod for me to load, I got an email saying my order was cancelled - after I had already been billed $800 for this service. I spent a good amount of time on the phone and no one was able to provide any meaningful assistance to resolve the issue. If you choose to make a reservation with them you should know that they can cancel it with zero warning - the actions of this company left me stranded and I will never use them again.
Pricey, but worth it. Pod was delivered on time, nothing was broken, and they picked up the empty Pod on time as well. Customer service was nice and helpful, and the driver was also friendly and called when he was able to arrive early for loading. Overall really happy with my experience with Pods and I would use them again.
My husband and I used pods few times in the past and we like it. Drivers always arrived on time. They were friendly and flexible to work with. The wait time on the phone is a bit longer, but website works just fine. They are not cheap but very reliable with transparent price and good service.
Stay far far far away from PODS. We scheduled to have a pod delivered today. After initially confirming that it would fit in our driveway, we get a call today the minute our delivery window opened stating that our driveway was all of a sudden to small. The logistics guy never gave us any other options and basically left us hanging. 8 plus hours later, multiple phone calls to PODS, we have zero answers. Please save yourself the time, money and effort and use a company that will value you and has better customer support then PODS.
Update: Over a month later and pods continues to be a nightmare to work with. Not only have I had to constantly follow up for updates on my complaint with customer service, there has still been no apology or conversation about my complaint. Please do yourself a favor and use a company that will value your time. This company is disorganized in all departments. I highly recommend pack rat/ zippy shell. When Pods dropped the ball and left me with no idea when or if I would have a container, for an out of state move, they tirelessly worked to make sure I had a container the next day. Even with it being almost 1030pm on a Friday night, they coordinated with the nearest location to ensure a container would be there in the morning ready to load. And after pick up they constantly updated me on the status of my container and working with me to schedule my delivery at the new house.Absolute terrible customer service. Scheduled to have a delivery made in Chicago. The associate asked if I had a driveway, as the city doesnt allow drop offs on the street. Told her that I did but was afraid it might be too small. She then pulls up Google maps and tells me that the container will fit on the driveway without any issues. So I took her advice and ordered a driveway delivery. On delivery day- I get a call that they cant fit the container on the driveway and theyre not sending a truck out. Basically told I can bring in the stuff myself or call the city services to try and figure something out. Mind you this was at 2pm and the facility closes at 330 pm for an out of state move. After wasting half the day running in circles, I still have no answer or updates. Even after an associate assured me multiple times that she would call me back and not let this go unresolved tonight...well its been 5 hours and not a word.Save yourself the stress, aggrevation, and hours on hold. Go with another company especially if youre in a major city.
The review wont allow you to not give a one star review, however that is what I would have given them. My PODS delivery was delayed, as a customer service representative told me, because the driver never showed up But I wasnt contacted and had to cancel the help I had scheduled to unpack. It has been over a month of me contacting customer service, Ive been told theres an open ticket to handle my complaint, but no one has contacted me. They were very prompt in booking my job and charging my credit card however.
The pods were not delivered 3 separate times they were scheduled to be delivered to my new house location. I was not called and informed of the reasons why. I had to call, and they told me the truck broke down. but i had 2 pods, why wasnt one of them delivered. I was told they would be delivered the next day (Saturday), the pods were not yet delivered mid-day, I called and I was told they will be delivered by end of day. the pods were not delivered. I had to call again, I was not told a reason why they were not delivered, the rep just told me they were not picked up and were now scheduled for delivery on Monday morning. Monday mid-day the pods were not yet delivered, I called again, the rep on the phone he would call me within an hour to tell me what is going on. I did not get a call back, so I called again and asked to speak to a supervisor, she said that she got in contact with the warehouse and the supervisor from there would call me. The customer rep supervisor said that she is submitting an incident report and someone will be calling in 72 hours. The warehouse supervisor called me and I had to coordinate with him to get the pods delivered to my new residence. As for the incident report - I have not yet been contacted.
This is an excellent service. We moved from LA to Chicago and our move was hassle free. Nothing broke or got damaged. In fact most of the stuff was in its place and didnt fall over. Their customer care and the staff at their local facilities is also very nice and responsive.
BEWARE OF MISQUOTES FROM PODS.On our initial call to PODS we provided extensive information about the contents of our 1950 sq ft home that we wanted moved to another state. We were told repeatedly that a 16 ft container would accommodate our move completely. Well it did not and we were left with about 1/3 of our possessions NOT FITTING in the POD. Our only option, order another POD but due to busy season they didnt know when we could get it!! This would have DOUBLED the cost we were originally quoted. There was no discount offered and the rep was very nonchalant about our situation. We DID not use them for the balance of our move. I have since learned this is a common problem with PODS on their quotes.
PODS was by far the easiest thing when it came time to pack up our house for our move. They came to drop off the POFD, we packed it up ourselves and PODS came back, picked it up and dropped it off at our new home. We unpacked it when we were ready and they took it away. No loading and unloading and packing/unpacking at storage units. It was very convenient and easy. Id use them again in a heartbeat!
*edited one month after the below review* After a one month of having to consistently follow up with Pods customer service to receive support, I had to remove yet another star from my review and experience. I never received an apology from Pods for this poor experience and the issues their mistake caused and had to follow up with their customer service representative weekly to even know it was still on their radar to handle...after all of that, all I received was a reimbursement for the truck that I only had to book due to their mistake. Nothing additional for the time wasted or even an apology... Poor customer service only made for a worse experience.////I used Pods for a cross-country move and received incorrect information about my drop off location in which the representative said our Pod would fit comfortably in our covered drive-way. We came to found out that Pods can never be placed in a car port and had to scramble to book a separate Uhaul and movers to move our belongings from the Pods storage facility into the Uhaul and then into our home. While the initial misinformation was frustrating enough, it has been two weeks since we began discussions with their consumer response team and have yet to receive any helpful or tangible information rectifying the horrible experience we had.
Asked for a quote for staging a house for sale. Clearly indicated scenario, and it was evident that Id need the items re-delivered. However, when I eventually called to arrange re-delivery, there was another (previously hidden, not disclosed) fee of close to 50% of the original price. I was shocked, appalled and disgusted at this practice. Once PODs has your stuff, and youre unaware of the fee, you obviously need to pay what they charge to get it back. While the mechanics of the service were acceptable to pricing and quoting process is not clear or transparent, and I suspect, intentionally so. Wouldnt work with them again in the future.
I did a cross-country move from Chicago to Austin. Two PODS representatives confirmed and promised delivery dates to me. Once my items were picked up and I was paid in full, I immediately got a notification that my delivery date was delayed. Very strategic and unprofessional of a company that I originally thought was reputable. They also used language in their delivery delay emails that made it seem like I was the one who requested the change. I attempted to find answers and get things resolved with two customer support reps. Bothwere extremely unhelpful and claimed ignorance throughout. Both would not let me speak with a manager. What one rep DID do was place a scheduling dispute on my account. They wouldnt connect me to anyone on that team, saying that they were unable, and that I would hear from them directly. I STILL have yet to hear back. The icing on the cake was the damage that the delivery driver did to our yard. He completely destroyed the yard, with no remorse. I had to re-sod the entire yard.
DO. NOT. USE. if you are moving to Chicago. They lied to us from the very beginning. We were never told that Chicago didnt allow PODS to be placed on city streets or in an alleyway. Only a driveway. I would have never used this service had I been told that. The ONLY reason I found out is because I came across a review stating this and when I called this morning to double check they said it was true. When I told the CS agent that I was never informed she said she was sorry it was a lapse in communication. WHAT?! She said the only options were we use their city service which wont be available in time for our move or we move everything on our own.Our POD was set to be delivered tomorrow. My husband and I just moved to Chicago from Los Angeles. Were in the midst of a pandemic, money is tight and now we have to spend even more money on top of the $2500 we already spent and scramble to find a new option to go to the warehouse to pick up our belongings and move them personally to our new place.Im so upset. Do not make our same mistake. Do NOT trust this company.
I recently completed a cross-country move and I cannot advise against utilizing this company enough. After having a confirmed a city service 2:30 delivery on 10/1/19, I called PODS at 2:45 to see where my driver was. After a string of lies, it turns out the driver grabbed the incorrect order for the incorrect time slot. My movers I had lined up could not stick around to wait for the POD, leaving me scrambling. The container showed up more than 4 hours late. I had to find new movers at the very last minute. This made the entire day a nightmare for me and added an incredible amount of stress (as well as cancellation fees for movers, costs of the original movers, and the costs of the second set of movers). The manager of the location called to tell me his driver screwed up while the driver blamed it on the manager. I didn’t receive a single phone call about the screw up-I had to initiate every piece of communication. This was absolutely not the service I expected with the amount of money I had to pay to have my items delivered. I could not be more disappointed.
PODS got confused and delivered to my final destination on the wrong day. The container was damaged by their forklift, destroying some of my items. And even though I had content protection insurance, the phone number for making a claim did not work. I tried emailing (no response) and tried calling (got the run-around in circles to nowhere). PODS is a dumpster fire that interrupted a clown show.
Had a horrible experience with this company. Would not use them again and would not recommend. Problems from start to finish - from waiting on hold for minimum 30 minutes every time I called them to make any changes to my order (no way to make most of these changes online) to their staff hanging up on me after waiting on hold for more than 30 minutes and losing my delivery date (which already wasnt the delivery date I wanted - even though I called nearly a month in advance). Still waiting for their management to contact me about this issue. BUYER BEWARE - AVOID PODS!
We thought PODS would be a great fit moving from LA to Chicago as we needed to store our belongs for a few months in addition to moving them. However, the experience has been horrendous. Zero customer service in LA, I was routinely told its the second biggest market so we dont care or help; then it took 15 days to ship from LA to Chicago. I understand this is freight and they must load/unload, but 15 days is a joke. It would have been far cheaper, quicker, and less hassle to drive a truck or pay someone to drive our belongings. This will be the only time we use PODS.
It was very difficult to reach anyone when I called. When I used the web site, it was not clear that we were being informed on drop off and especially pick up times. The contIners are fine , but the customer service needs a more user friendly system. Would I use the service again, perhaps, but I would also need to be assured of better service, perhaps a local number would help.
PODS is fantastic! Of my many cross-country moves, PODS has made this easiest and a most seamless experience. ( I moved from Chicago to Miami.) The dispatcher and field staff were friendly, efficient, and courteous. They were sure to their promise. My things arrived on time. I will definitely be using PODS again for future moves.
PODS service was great; the driver was fast and careful. He did some fast explaining/direction, which proved not enough, though. I had it in my driveway for 6+ weeks in the heat, and my leather furniture was damaged. I think they should provide written direction and some blankets, with particular attention/direction to leather. All in all, it serves a purpose - very handy.
If I could give zero stars I would. We had the worst experience trying to rent a container from PODS. My husband and I live on a corner lot and have a very small drive way, thus, we needed to put the POD in the street. Well, the village that we live in does not issue permits for short-term (1-2 days) storage of PODS on the street. We got the approval from one of our village representatives that we were permitted to store the POD on the street for 2 days. My husband placed the order with PODS 5 days in advance of our delivery day. On the day of our anticipated POD delivery, 1 hour prior to our 3 hour delivery window time, we received a call from the POD delivery driver stating that they could not deliver a POD unless we had a permit number from the village. We had never been told this permit number was necessary when booking the POD delivery. Between my husband and I we spoke with 4 different customer service reps from PODS, explained that our village does not issue short term permits and repeatedly provided the contact number of our village representative so that PODs themselves could confirm. Every single time we spoke with someone in customer service from PODS we were told that they could not get ahold of their management to approve of the delivery and all they could do was send an email marked urgent. My husband finally called and spoke with a manager who basically told us that we only accept permits. They are incredibly inflexible, have terrible customer service, and I would never recommend anyone without a drive way use this company. Even if you have a drive way youre in for a head ache.
The company did a GREAT job. Delivered POD when scheduled, billed what they quoted over the phone (thankfully, I went with his quote), online access to account was super user-friendly, and drop-off/pick-up were done when scheduled. Schedule availability is usually within 36-48 hrs.My ONLY issue is just the size of the PODS. If you have anything larger than a 2 bedroom house, you really need professional movers to make the best use of the space and thus, get as much as humanly possible in the container. Otherwise, youre left with a lot of extra stuff trying to determine what to do with it. Packing one of these is Tetras on steroids, especially if you have larger/ longer couches or chairs. But the service and experience was great!
Don’t use PODs. By the time I finally spoke to a pleasant service representative, I believe her name was Marcie, I was already at my breaking point. I made the initial mistake of believeing I could access my belongings if I phoned the request at start of day. This was incorrect and I took blame on this error. When discussing delivery, I was told they would phone or email me once delivered and that I would be able to access my POD on the 13th, today. I paid movers and a move in fee in preparation. No one ever notified me that my belongings had reached the final destination or keyed in the order to access my POD on 7/13. The service is poor and the communication is awful. They make YOU work to access YOUR belongings. I’ve been in an apartment for a half a month and I’m still have NO furniture. They’ve made moving harder and honestly not cheap. I’ve paid about 3000 dollars to not have furniture. This company is a joke. AVOID!
Horrible customer service. Scheduled my container over a month ago. The day I was supposed to get it I called three times everybody said it was coming. Finally the last time I called I was on hold for 25 minutes and they told me it wasn’t coming with no good reason. I paid for all the permits and blocked off the street. Put me in a real bad situation because of the closing on my house. Absolute disaster!!! Worst of all I have to contest the charges to my credit card even though I never received a container. And I never canceled it. AND now they respond to this review with no real effort to make it right
I used PODS to temporarily store items from my house that I was selling and intended them to deliver them to my new address. I had them drop off the unit at my home in Western Springs, IL (about 15 miles from Chicago). The drop off and pick up went without a hitch. The issue started when I tried to schedule a delivery to my new home in Valparaiso, IN – a town that is 50 miles from my old home. I was surprised when I was told that they do not offer service down there. (Something that would have been nice for their sales rep to tell me when I placed the initial offer because I told her I was moving to Indiana.) I was told that I could select another area for delivery and I tired a couple of my friends with homes in different cities close to me (Portage and Chesterton) but there was no service there either. My last option was to rent a UHaul, driver up to Bensenville, IL. (where the POD is stored) and transfer the load myself and drive it back to my place. I’m upset because there was NO mention about areas they would not we able to deliver to when I arranged to the POD initially. Now I get to unload and reload and unload again, plus the cost of a UHaul.
Buyer beware! Pods is a terrible terrible company and allows their franchisee owners to call the shots. We tried to rent a container from them and they made us wait three weeks. the night before delivery they call and claim that we dont have a driveway for them to deliver to even though we provided photographic evidence including dimensions of our driveway which was wider and longer than was needed for a container. They continued to have us wait on hold for hours at a time or claiming they would call us back in an hour with information as to how they would be able to help us yet here we are three days later still sitting with no pod and no return phone calls. I finally get through to someone who tells me the franchisee location decided they dont want to deliver because they think theres not enough space however if they use their brains like a human being and looked with their eyes at the evidence as well The dimensions would show them there was plenty of space. They now have left us holding the bag essentially with no container and could have been forthcoming and contacted us weeks ago when we made this reservation if they were too weak and ignorant to make the delivery. Buyer beware!!! I would not use this company nor recommend them to anyone. They let you sit and wait and wait and then do nothing to help you when the time comes. The corporate office lets their franchisees do whatever they want and have no say or power in the matter. They have essentially called me a liar telling me I dont have a driveway for them to deliver even though we do and I proved it. terrible customer service, terrible experience, would never ever recommend them and highly suggest people find a local moving company to support for their moving needs as that is now what we have learned to do the hard way.
Drivers are extremely professional and punctual, POD was delivered and picked up without hassle., the one drawback is to make sure that you have the appropriate height and width to have the POD maneuvered into place, I would use this company again. *My move was not a far move, but I used to 16ft PODs to store my items for a month, which was helpful.
On the drop off of my PODS, Angel was very helpful. My stuff had shifted in transfer, and he helped me open the door, and as stuff was falling out, he actually carried boxes over to the garage. Thanks for your help, Angel! This morning, Robert did an awesome job of maneuvering the PODS pick-up device around 2 feet of snow to take the PODS away. I didn’t think he could do it, but he pulled through. Very nice guy, highly admire him.
I recently used a POD for storing my furniture while my house was being remodeled. It was great to have the POD right on my property, as there had been two instances I had to go in the POD to add and look for something. The folks I dealt with from the beginning to the very end made this whole experience worthwhile. I truly would recommend PODS to everyone.
DO NOT use PODS if you are trying to move into metropolitan Chicago. According to CDOT it is ILLEGAL to place a POD on the street in Chicago. They DID NOT inform me that it was illegal to place PODS on Chicago streets, allowed me to go through with the order, and then initially tried to make me pay an additional $450 to book what they call City Service - which is nothing more than them bringing the PODS to your location and not placing it on the ground. How is anyone supposed to unload their POD when its 10 feet above you?! They are trying to claim this is a legitimate service when it is not, and they do NOT care if you become legally liable for placing the POD on the street (aka HEAVY parking fines). Their only other option was to make me drive to Bensenville to pick up the pod myself using a moving truck. Whats the point of using PODS if they cant even deliver it to you? They are coercing customers to take criminal liability when they arent even informing customers of the liability.
I was reffered to pods by a friend and my experiance was not good at all. Everything I was told at the beggining of my order all changed at the end of the order. I had a lot of my furniture scratched and the pod looked like it had been rolled over when delivered my stuff was all over the place. They charged me full month fee storage for 1 day. I would be careful which pod company you use. Very bad experiance would not refer anyone....very disappointed I then called after the fact and was told it is what it is very unprofessional service beware!!
PODs was a great choice for us to use. We started with 3 PODs and have now gotten what we continue to need stored into one unit. The PODs team has been very helpful and timely in delivery, pickup and storage access. I would recommend them to anyone that needs to put stuff in storage until they know their new destination.
I tried calling this place and they had me on hold for 30minutes only to transfer me to someone who said they couldn’t help me and transferred me to another person I gave up after waiting for an additional 30 minutes and decided to drive to the location . Only to find out that they are closed on Wednesday. When online they said open Mon through Friday. Misleading and too long wait hours. Not worth my time

2022-06-22I am currently in the middle of a move. I reserved 3 PODS to be delivered on Monday 6/20/22. I was told 2 would deliver in my driveway and the 3rd could go on the street. PODS checked and confirmed twice that the POD was legal to be parked on the street. The first POD delivered but the driver told me they would not put it on the street. It was illegal and they have had them towed. I called the Police department and they confirmed. Since I was told YES it Can be put on the street by 2 customer service people at PODS, I called to schedule at least one POD to be picked up the next day the other delivered. I was given the run around by several people and transferred to the person who could help I was told they could only do this on Thursday. I have to be out of my house on Thursday! I had to explain the same thing to 3 different people that I just needed the POD, Ive already paid for and scheduled to deliver. NO ONE understood what I was saying! I now have to schedule more movers to come today, but I cant get the POD until the end of today! I still dont have confirmation as to what time this will happen. I received a text message saying my service is scheduled between 2:00-5:45 pm today. Im not sure if that is delivery or pick up. This is not acceptable. PODS has now cost me more money to move and I dont know if it will even happen on time and could delay my closing. I NEED HELP. MY last POD HAS to be delivered in the next 3 hours!! 2022-06-29Convenient process to use for moving. Our drop off drivers were quick and efficient in both locations. One of the pick up drivers did some minor damage to our gutter during pick up. Other than that, it was a smooth process from start to finish. It was nice to manage all the pickup & drop off dates online. Highly recommend. Great customer service and you get a discount as a USAA customer, which was nice. Would definitely use this company again if needed.

2022-05-29Ive used PODS to move across the country twice now. Both times I had great experience. Their customer service is fantastic. Call and theyll have an answer for you. The shipping time is a bit longer than necessary imo. They have some processing time just in the shipyard before it hits the road. The inside of my PODS was also covered in dirt once it reached the final destination which is really annoying. But otherwise everything was great.

2021-12-15The customer service agents do not have all of the proper information at their disposal. My account was constantly changed and my orders were never able to be pulled up each time I called. Each agent did not know how to answer my question and was unable to find the notes to the last call I had with the prior agent. I had to call multiple times to confirm my order both at the first initial order to this last drop off.My first experience back in January 2021 I booked my pod for a March date. I called well in advance to discuss the property I was staying at *literally provided the address* and the dimensions of my pod I was requesting. I had to call three times before my order was confirmed...Come to find, one week before I was supposed to fill my pod the decided to inform me that since it was a CITY request that your company could not send their original truck (that I had called three times before to confirm). THEY KNEW I was in the city- they had my zip code- it is a city zip code, they knew i was in a high rise, I explained all of this and still a week before I was told they could not accommodate my request. Fast forward to my delivery date- your company made right by waiving the city fee- but they would have never had to waive it if it was explicit that there is another service that has to deal with the city.Fast forward to this last delivery of my final drop off- I called scheduled the drop and given the past, I called three times to confirm the date and time. Again, each agent did not have the information they should have. They always asked for my order number or my account number, when it should be pulled up and ready to review. The second agent I spoke to confirmed that it wouldnt be an issue for the drop of the address I provided. That I would hear from the location an ETA on its delivery the night before. I never heard from them so I called in the AM. When I called they had a 30 minute wait, so I chatted with an agent online. That agent took forever to review my order then provided me with a time window of delivery of 8-10am. It was already 8am at this point of the chat. I then waited on hold for a live person to confirm this date. As I spoke to the agent live, he could not provide an ETA because it was NOT in the system. WHERE did the chat agent receive that information if it was NOT in the system? Fast forward to a 30 minute conversation he finally got a hold of the location and confirm a delivery between 4pm-on with the caveat that it is NOT guaranteed until 4pm. Low and behold, the truck came at noon. Thankfully I was there to assist at noon since it is far from 4pm. All in all this was my worst experience with a company by far. I wouldnt recommend PODS to anyone I know, ever. The only positive part of this transaction was not having to speak with anyone for almost a year because my belongings were just being stored at the facility. Dealing with your customer service was by far the most painful situation I have encountered. They are not incompetent, they are without process and answers.

2022-05-02The five stars are for your driver, Rich. Great service, punctual, professional and helpful. He made a city-based move as easy as possible and had good options for troubleshooting parking and access issues. He also coordinated and worked well with the on-site moving team from a third-party provider.Ordering from PODS was also good, but customer service in between the order and the POD delivery was lacking. City service is a separate service but the help desk and chat function still routed me to the general help department and they had no ability to help or connect me to the right people. Don’t put the general help phone number on city service emails/texts: leads to confusion and frustration when trying to coordinate details prior to the move.Luckily, Rich was great and salvaged the experience.

2022-04-07Pods didn’t schedule my pick up properly for a city delivery. I was “GUARANTEED” I would get a text and an email of when it would be delivered the night before.. I never got one.The next morning I called pods at 8:30am. The first dude Ronnie, gave me 3 numbers to this facility after trying to call. No one answered. I texted and called them- no answer. I called PODS again, another Ronnie, she couldn’t get a hold of them.It wasn’t until 11:10am when Dakota called me saying the person who scheduled me didn’t correctly schedule a city pick up.The only people who saved this were Dakota and Cornell (the amazing driver of the truck that dropped off my pod). Cornell was polite, accurately dropped off the pod, and patiently waited while I packed it.I understand you’re busy and times are hard, but I don’t fully understand why it took 3 hours to get back to me and why wouldn’t pods customer service be able to reach the facility.Still waiting to hear back on my refund request. I paid $900 for stress and had to pay my movers more money because I wasn’t told the proper time.

2022-04-04PODS has had horrible quality in customer service. After waiting for 30min to speak with a customer it seems the agents do not know how their system works. The delivery of the Empty pod was successfully completed. Our issues is the current hostage situation we are going through with locating and getting our items returned. We were informed by customer agents that both of our pods would be delivered on the same day. Only to find out that one was delivered, and the other....? We kept trying to schedule the delivery ourselves online to continue to get error messages. Upon calling the Customer Service Agents, where the wait took about 30-45 min to only speak to them for a total of 15min, did not get us anywhere. 3 days later our POD is still missing and the customer service agents cannot tell us when our POD will be delivered, if it can be delivered. How does a company that works in a closed system of pick up, drop off and pick up again lose an item such as a 12 container? It doesnt make sense. If they were a jack of all trades service center, fine. But this is their only job. Every time we call the service center, we just get placed on hold and no one can tell us when delivery will happen. Again, how does this happen? If youre looking for a service, consider the cons to this situation. I have friends moving in the next few weeks and will not recommend this to my friends anymore.

2022-06-21We were left high and dry by our original moving company the week of our move and were in a very tough situation. We were moving from Chicago to California. Luckily PODs and their fantastic customer service were able to help us. They were caring and compassionate of our situation. They were able to get us scheduled for that same week at half the price of the other moving companies. The driver in Chicago was a legend. He helped us load up our container and he organized everything for us when he didnt have to do anything. We had our POD loaded in less that 2 hours. They arrived on time, dropped our POD off at our new location on the exact date and time and picked it up on time as well. Couldnt recommend PODs any more. They were amazing to deal with and made moving much less painful.

2021-08-10After being promised delivery on a certain date multiple times and paying the extra fees to both PODS and the city of Chicago for delivery, the delivery was initially delayed over a week and ultimately cancelled unexpectedly the second time we rescheduled. We were charged $700+ in additional fees for services we never received and ultimately decided to rent a vehicle and drive over an hour to the PODs storage location.I have been in contact with PODS customer service and claims for almost two months now to receive a refund of the delivery fees. They also promised to compensate us on things we had to purchase while all our belongings were stuck in the delayed POD. However, I still have not gotten anywhere with our claims agent or anyone from customer service.

2022-07-10Beware! I did online quote and even called to confirm placement of POD container. It was confirmed that I wouldnt have a problem with placement of the container in front of my complex (city street) and gave address to the move, also city street. After a successful drop off, I had the container loaded and picked up. When I schedule my POD container to be dropped off at my new address I was told NO. They wouldnt deliver to the new address without paying 4x more than the quoted price and I would only have 4hrs to unload. So much for the advertisement of you move at your pace . PODS literally returned my container back to its origin a much busier street than the new one but after many many hours of rude and disrespectful representatives the resolution was to make my move even more difficult than it needed to be. I chose to use POD although it is very expensive for the convenience and it turned out to be the worst moving experience I have ever had!.
