Pita Pita Mediterranean Grill in other cities:
Pita Pita was a delightful surprise. I was traveling for work and saw a Mediterranean spot and stopped in. The owner Mo and his wife were working the counter and gave me a few suggestions. I ordered the meat platter and a side of grape leaves. The kafta and all the meat was cooked perfect! Tender and juicy. The grape leaves were Devine in the Lebanese style. Ill be coming here every time Im able to as I travel. Great food, amazing people.
Maybe the vegetarian options just arent as good, or maybe this style of food isnt my thing? Whatever the case, my take out was not enjoyable.I ordered the sauted veggies and, to be blunt, it was nothing but a greasy, soggy, tasteless pile of slop that I could only stomach 3 bites of. The rice was reminiscent of play-doh and a small side salad they included was so laden with vinegar it almost hurt my mouth.I really dont enjoy leaving unfavorable reviews (and rarely do) but I feel its deserved this time. My dish was truly disgusting.I cant in good faith recommend this place for anyone after vegetarian options.
Groupon brought us to this Mediterranean joint. Overall the food was good. Nice portions and for a decent price. The middle eastern seasoning are hard to copy at home. Food was a little on the salty side. Meet was decent quality and service was great.Try the beef shawarma and the lentil soup. The lentil soup was to die for. Also get a side order of falafel and you wont be disappointed.
We were looking for a place to have a brunch here in Lombard. This place has a warm staff, great menu, and excellent food. The ribeye beef shish kabab was probably the best I’ve ever eaten. Flavorful properly spiced Mediterranean food. What a pleasant gastronomical surprise!
Aaaaamazing. Best Mediterranean I’ve had. There are many places closer but we regularly drive out to Pita Pita. You literally can’t go wrong. I love the mix grill plate because everything is actually delicious. Their kefta is so tender, juicy and flavorful. I’ve never had better.
Very solid new Mediterranean/middle eastern restaurant. Their shwarmma is good but not necessarily the most authentic. The pita sandwiches are on point. Friendly staff too. Overall a good value and bang for your buck if youre sick of the other boring food in the area.
Dang, Ive had pitas but Ive never had Pita Pita. Well I have but Im just now getting to the review. If you look up best pita near me in a dictionary a picture of this place should pop up. The flavor and tastiness of this joint is unreal. Went here for lunch now thinking about going back for to dinner so I can show it off to the family........
Used to love this place but they’ve gradually started decreasing the quantity of the rice in their entrées.Large muthawama is way less than what is used to be as well.Thankfully they haven’t compromised on the taste, but sad to see they’re moving away from the quantity they used to provide.
In a word: DELICIOUS! BEST Baba Ghanouj I have ever had! We split the Mixed Meat platter & the Chicken Tawook. So good! Well, the rice was kinda boring, but maybe I’m holding it up to the yumm-ness of the other items. Also tried the Stuffed Grape Leaves - those were your “standard” kind, but still good. Food served very quick, we didn’t even decide on a beverage yet (they have one of those “pick a path” multi-selection machines) and the food was at our table. Pitas served soft & warm - nice touch! In summary: HIGHLY recommend!
This place has the best Mediterranean food Ive ever had! Their chicken tawook is amazing! They season their chicken so beautifully. Its like magic. Not to mention their salads! You have to try it. I plead you you should try it. They have a big restaurant but they run it with love. I dont even like Mediterranean food usually but even i cant deny that this mouth watering food is AMAZING!!!
I have ordered three things falafel sandwich, Chicken Shawerma sandwich and combination meal. Definitely the combo meal was the best then falafel lastly the chicken shawerma. For Middle Eastern people they won’t enjoy the shawerma as it is missing the garlic cream and the real shawerma species. That doesnt make their shawerma sandwich bad though. I will come back for the combo for sure.
I love this place. Simple, elegant, spacious, FRIENDLY, and reasonable. Beautiful Mediterranean food prepared well and tastefully. I got the baba ganoush with falafel. Soooo good! I cant wait to go back. The menu is easy to read and the employee was patient and kind while helping me navigate it. So nice!
Experience was good it was just that since I had ordered my meal to go I asked if I could have a cup of water but they told me I could only have a clear one which was so small. I didn’t say anything but I was like thinking why can’t I just have a regular cup with a lid and straw. This is easier since I would be driving and it’s bigger. I understand the logic like you don’t want people to like steal a drink and clear cup is easy but I think that’s okay for dine in.
This place has very well seasoned meats and veggies! My lamb and veggies entree came with a solid cup of rice and a very tasty side salad. The lamb was very savory and was also a rather sizable portion. My girlfriend got the chicken shawarma entree and it had a unique, delicious seasoning Ive never tasted before (and I feel like Ive had a fair amount of Mediterranean foods). We also had the assorted baklava, which were about average and tough to justify the >$5 we paid, so maybe skip those? The falafels were larger than others Ive had in the area and tasted fresh and not dry.The 5 stars is a well-deserved representation of the two entrees we ate here. Bravo! We will be back...
The Best!!! The cashier Isabella, she was very friendly, smiled and had our order correct, our food was so delicious better than the other Mediterranean places we have went too and the cleanliness of the restaurant was great! Overall we wanted to say thank you to Isabella. She was above and beyond. Highly recommend Pita Pita!! We will definitely be back.
This is my second time here and service was as exceptional as the first. Isabel was so accommodating and took the time to ensure my food was prepared correctly. This is one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants. Ill continue to drive out from Aurora, as long as service and food quality are this great.
First time today, Isabel greet and explain us the menu with photos and answer all our questions, gave great suggestions, very friendly, great customer service, and food everything amazing delicious. We had lentil soup, pita bread, hummus, falafal, a chicken sandwich combo, a mixed meat plate combo, all great sizes/ portions. Highly recommend. Thanks!
I came from Palatine, and there is a local Pita Pita. The one in my hometown is quite lovely and not too terrible. I was in Lombard and decided to try this one out. When I walked in, I was like, wow, so big, and they had a menu book with pictures of every dish so that was helpful. Overall the taste was nice and juicy. The meat was not dry, and it was a good experience.
Food is average. 1 star for the extremely rude chef. I asked the cashier is I can get any sort of chicken by itself, without rice, pita and etc. he said he will ask the chef as he was not sure. There is a window between the cash and kitchen so you can see and hear the chef clearly. When the poor cashier asked, the chef threw a tantrum LOL. He got upset that I even dared to ask the question. The cashier himself felt attacked and embarrassed. I apologized to the cashier for “asking a question” and respectfully left the restaurant as I didn’t want to create a scene. What I wanted to do was jump the counter and smack the chef…but hey…to each their own :)
The food is always good. Absolutely LOVE the chicken tawook with the Mixed meat lunch speacial. Although i feel for some reason this location is lower on the potion sizes. The original in palatine usually gives more food. Still highly recommend you try it.. Very tasty and healthy food!
Best Mediterranean food Ive ever had. Way better and fresher than the more expensive places and their portions are very generous. Picked up a Tawook platter along with a dozen falafel and had 8 good meals out of it. Everything tasted fresh and left everyone begging for more.
Placed order for Entrée and sides to pick up, picked up order went home but found no side orders perhaps they forgot my side order. I complaint about it and register lady told me that New Manager/Owner lady will call me for the refund but she didnt I called them again this time new guy took my information again and told me she will definitely call me but NO she never called us. Im your regular customer but not anymore!
I ordered the lunch specials, meat and veggie platters for myself and 3 friends to dine outside. The food was ready when I arrived to pick it up. The restaurant was busy with others waiting for their orders too. I was handed my bag after giving my name. The food was delicious, my only complaint is that we werent given napkins nor utensils.
Have been getting the food from here for years. It has been constantly great even throughout the covid19 pandemic. My kids love the Chicken Tawook. Its my favorite to. Never more than a 10 minute wait for pickup. One of the best restaurants on Roosevelt rd in Lombard.
Im a regular at this place. My favorites:*Chicken tawook sandwich in pita -- it is toasted to perfection and tastes awesome.*Fries -- simply the best fries in the whole wide world -- no ifs ands or buts about it. Perfectly fried with a light crispy coating on the top, just the right amount of salt and smooth buttery taste as you chew and swallow.*Lentil Soup -- hands down the best lentil soup Ive ever had. Utterly creamy and smooth in texture -- they serve it with a slice of lemon which when squeezed into the soup, enhances the taste. Absolutely divine. My son who normally does not care much for any kind of soup has become a big fan of the lentil soup and it along with the fries is an absolutely must have.Clean restaurant, friendly staff, good ambiance and prompt service. Highly recommended.
I have never been to this restaurant and saw it advertised on Local Flavor and wanted to try it out. It has had such great reviews online. Came out on a Saturday evening at 7:00 ordered an entree mixed meat meal on the suggestion of the staff. Saw a plate come out that looked great and went with that. Also ordered a side of falafel as well. It’s 7:30 now and am still waiting on my food.I don’t care how good this food is it’s not worth the 30 minute wait. Absolutely horrendous and wouldn’t come back if they paid me too. When they finally brought out the food there was no apology or sorry for your wait or an offer of a credit or a discount on the next meal. If you have the time to sit around for an hour to wait for your food then maybe give it a shot but otherwise I wouldnt suggest giving it a try.
This places absolutely amazing! I loved every bite. I usually get the mixed meat. But everything from the salad to the meat to the humus to everything else, it is absolutely perfect. Not only is the food amazing but everyone is always friendly and it is a great environment. Thank you guys come keep up the great work.
My family loves Mediterranean food and we decided one night to order the same food from different Mediterranean restaurants. The reward for the best one being, this 5 star review. This is hands down the best pita place in Lombard the falafel and grape leaves have no comparison to anywhere else. The options on the menu and possibility for muthawama (try it, dip everything in it) make it easily the best. The owner of this restaurant is also one of the nicest people you will meet in the restaurant industry.
I cant say enough about this place. Service both in and carry out is great. Food always fresh and I have yet to get any order that was even a little iffy. Perfection. And I love that they take part in 5-Star. I get text messages of specials and bonuses. They have a BOGO and I can eat for two days for $12. Love it at lunchtime and will grab and go for dinner, too. Keep serving up great food Pita Pita.
Not sure how people think the portions are a good size, they must be small guys. The restaurant itself is very clean and looks great. As far as taste goes its pretty decent. The rice is low quality though. Pinched Mediterranean Grill blows it out of the water as far as taste/portions go. For the price its not a bad deal though. Id eat here again but wouldnt go out of my way for it.
Food was delicious and full of flavor! Very clean and comfortable atmosphere. Well organized setup with great energy from the workers there. Food was prepared with a great presentation and fast. I cant wait to try everything on the menu. Fresh, clean, delicious, fast, and convenient. Definitely out beats any restaurant in that area. Very satisfying!
Excellent Mediterranean spot with very fresh and tasty food. The mixed-meat combo is a great deal and will definitely fill you up. The tahini and hot sauces are flavorful and creamy, the pita bread is warm and not dry/prone to breaking and the variety of meat is very tasty thanks to the great seasoning used. Presentation of the mixed-meat platter was beautiful. Owner is very nice and approachable. Will definitely be coming back to this place in the future!
We love to go out. Yesterday we found this delicious place which we didn’t know before. We enjoyed a lovely time there with delicious meal and a courteous team and a great chief cook. We put this place in our phone list and we shall surely return very soon. We deeply recommend.
It doesnt get any closer to heaven on earth than this place! My hubby and I frequent here often. Everything is delicious.. From the Sauteed Lamb, Ribeye Steak Wraps and Mixed Chicken Plate. The staff is always courteous and helpful. We have NEVER had a bad experience here.
Great lunch special, had the meat special where the meat was tender and juicy and flavorful (each item actually had a distinctive flavor and was not the same old meat kabob that you get from other places), the quantity was beyond great and was able to get me full and more, and the service was beyond quick (even though the restaurant was packed to the brim)!!! Great atmosphere, great service, great food, and great location!!! Will be coming back and bringing friends more often!!!
I used to go here all the time was my favorite placeI drive 40 mins to come here and last 2 times they have completely messed up my order. Order beef shawarma and first got got a pita filled close but half the food and not what I paid for or ordered. Came again today and they gave me chicken. They clearly have gotten new really bad staff. I 8/10 don’t recommend
I always love the food at any Pita Pita, and here they are no different. However, I had a simple carry out order to be picked up at a specific time. I got there on time and they hadnt begun to prepare my order (I had ordered 5 hours earlier). I was not given an explanation or apology, and I waited 20+ mins for my order to be put together. They gave me some extra items to make up for it though, but still without even a quick answer to the delay.
If you like Mediterranean and dont mind substandard service, youll think this place is stellar. The food is fantastic and I would never say otherwise. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the service. My colleagues and I use to frequent Pita Pita, but just cannot afford to anymore. There have been over a dozen instances of waiting 30 minutes for a simple wrap (a wrap!), which finally led us to order ahead of time. Somehow, this too got botched. At the end of the day, what makes it so unfortunate is that the staff offers zero acknowledgement of the wait time (even when the delay is pointed), not even a simple apology for the inconvenience. As someone who made a living in the hospitality industry (and for many years), I can say with conviction, this team does not have its act together. Such a shame because, like I said, the food is great.
Excellent fast food. I loved their Palatine location and love the Lombard location more as it is close to my home. I love the Shish Tawouk wrap for lunch and Meat Combo for dinner. With price of a burger combo you get a feast. I highly recommend it. Fast food that is delicious and is not harmful to your health. Try it. You wont be disappointed!!
The food here is really good but.... My team and I really liked coming here for lunch until our food repeatedly never came out in a timely manner. Unfortunately today will be our last lunch at pita, we ordered 30 minutes ahead of time to ensure our food would be out on time, and still one of our coworkers waited until everyone was done for his food to come out. It sucks we cant come here for lunch anymore, but we cant afford to be late going back to the office.
Tried a new place pita pita. I love it wife loves it. You walk in. Its new and clean. Owner is onsite most of the day. Very nice and friendly. Everything is hand made hand chopped . Taste appearance portions are good. Absolutely no complaints. Will eat here over and over
I had the Sauteed Beef and Vegetables dinner, and it was delicious, seasoned perfectly. I love this place, have been going there a few years now when Im in Lombard. In the past, Ive had the Mixed Grill combo, delicious, usually substitute the rice for the baba for a $1 upcharge. I sometimes forget to do that, maybe it would be good if they ask when taking my order, lol. Ive had the pita sandwiches when in a hurry, also very good. The falafel is the best Ive ever had. The baklava pastry box is fabulous.
Absolutely love this place!! Best Mediterranean food in the area. The ownership and staff are always exceptionally friendly, smiling and personable, truly a great family run business. The dining room and bathrooms are always very clean, I would say cleaner then my own home!! HA!! I would highly recommend Pita Pita if you like Mediterranean cuisine.
So i loved this place until today. I ordered food through grubhub and they forgot one of my sandwiches. No big deal, figured I would just call and have them send it out. That was not the case. The lady on the phone insisted that i had it and wouldnt send it out. Luckily for me grubhub gave me a refund, but the lady that works there is horrible. And the portions have gotten and hole lot smaller. Its to bad the food is good but not worth the price. And after that phonecall I wont be repeating customer again.
My husband and I just ate here for the first time. The place was clean and staff were friendly. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. I had the shawarma pita and it was delicious. Came with tomatoes, lettuce and pickles with a tahini sauce. I was skeptical about the pickles but it was great! We also ordered some falafel and hummus. Best falafel I think I’ve ever had! Crunchy outside and super fluffy inside. They were also huge! Will definitely be going here again soon!
Amazing food and customer service! I follow a vegetarian and dairy free diet, and Pita Pita provides many options to accommodate a wide variety dietary needs. The staff (Lisa) was also very helpful and helped me order a meal that was guaranteed to be dairy free and allergen friendly, which I very much appreciated as it can sometimes be hard to eat out with certain food restrictions. Definitely a great option and highly recommended!
Sorry no photos, somehow I lost it. Food was pretty good, but everything needed salt. I had the chicken schwarma plate. It was dcent with a side of rice and a small salad on the plate, but again not seasoned well. No salt = bland food (No 1 mistake by cooks is not enough salt). Also it was very expensive imo. I had a Groupon I bought for $12 for $20 worth of food. I went with my gf and I still spent another $7 on top of the $20. So $27 ($19 after Groupon) seems like a lot to me for 2 lunch’s at a “fast food” restaurant. They did have one of the nice electronic soda machines though. I don’t think I’ll go again though when Cedar Grill is the same distance from my work (opposite way though).
I just got recommended the Shwarma by Lisa. Iv had shwarma only twice in New York and I had hated it. I have a new profound love for swarma from here its absolutely delicious! I like their entrees to but I think I like the wraps more than anything now. When I had called the first time I came in I was recommended it by whom I cant remember but I myself didnt try it I had gotten it for my family member. Anyhow the whole point here is the food is ridiculously delicious and on top of that absolutely wonderful people here as a team, the two brothers or colleagues or whatever they are to each other up lifted in spirit and as for caring and pretty kool Lisa....I pretty much have eaten um almost everyday except for one day since I had started eating here lol...I eat out as I am travelling...thanks a ton heres your well deserved five star review. Thanks for the food and hospitality.
The food here is delicious, staff are friendly and accomodating, and atmosphere clean and spacious. We ordered a beef shish kebab pita which was terrific, a beef shwarma pita, falafel, and baklava. The portions were a good size and as a bonus I found out that my picky 1 year old likes falafel! The staff was more than helpful when I asked to exchange something. I would definitely come back!
This was a pleasant surprise to find a Mediterranean restaurant that was different from the others. Their menu reads familiar but arrives more gourmet than youd expect for the price. Eaten here many times and pleased each time with the service and food. I keep introducing new friends to Pita Pita.
I don’t know if it’s just me but their lamb kabob tastes like it’s 2 days old. It’s not horrible, but it has an aftertaste if you notice it. The fatoosh salad is really salty, like that’s not how it is in pita house or Jerusalem cafe. They should not put too much salt. But if you’re really hungry and go into the place and eat, it’ll be delicious. The rice is alright. All in all 7/10 in my opinion.
Went to Pita Pita for lunch this afternoon. I ordered a Baba Ghanouj (small) and Fatoush salad (small). The food at Pita Pita is excellent but the service stinks. Others in my family and friend circle like the food and I have catered from there and bought food many times, but today was the last time. When my order was ready, I asked the person at the front desk, if I could have some carbonated water from the machine and I told her that I wanted a cup with a lid. She said I would have to pay for the cup. I said sure and she told me it would cost $2.64. $2.64 for a cup with a lid! I passed on that. Then I noticed that with my Free order of Falafel there was no sauce. I asked her for sauce and she said it would cost me extra. I passed on that. I never imagined I would have to pay extra for sauce that should have been part of the order. I left with my food and opened my bag of food when I reached home. I noticed that the order was wrong. I got two Fatoush salads instead of Baba Ghanouj and Fatoush salad. I did not bother to call them back since I wasn’t looking forward to an unpleasant conversation
Walked in, waited 5 minutes at the counter, young lady working saw us come in and went to the back to not return again. She did not even greet us. A man from the back in the kitchen said hello and that he would be right with us, never came out. Unbelievable. Lost a loyal customer and the Buffalo Wild Wings next door gained one.A joke of a restaurant. Must be a front.
Meticulously clean dining area. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. This was my second visit to Pita Pita. I ordered the Chicken Lunch special. Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. Its a little pricier than some of the Mediterranean/Middle Eastern spots on that stretch of Roosevelt, but the quality and portions of the food more than make up for that. It also has one of those touchscreen soda fountains with Pepsi products. Look forward to trying something new when I return.
Kufta kabob super dry, rice is instant and not authentic, ordered pickup and they forgot to put the baklava in as well. If youve had good Mediterranean, you would rate the same. If this is your first time, youd rate it fair... also have some 50 Percent lure promotion that they did not apply to my bill.Shish kebab pita bread was different from the pita for the hummus for some reason too (pita for the hummus seemed cheaper and rubbery in texture).
Great food! The food quantities are great. Enough for left overs, which is always a plus. You get alot for the price with the great quality of food! Never had Mediterranean food before and they were knowledgeable on the food. Really impressed and will be back for more!
Nice atmosphere, great food, nice staff. The only problem I had was this : The lunch special and the entree are different portions and prices. Ok.. but they both come with 1 pita ( 2 halves ). I cannot fit the entree portion in only 2 halves with all that extra meat given with the entree portion. When I asked for an extra pita, I was told it was .75 cents extra. Seriously?? Why should I pay extra for a pita when the meat portion needs to be supported with the appropriate pita portion? I pleaded my case and was given a free pita. Keep in mind, Pita House and Jerusalem Cafe, both down the road, do not charge extra.
This place has the best Mediterranean in the area and I have been searching for years. Falafel is crispy on the outside, yet soft and not dry at all in the middle. The hummus is otherworldly..so creamy and delicious. Baba ganoush sooooo good, best in ththe area. And their naan..omg...Soft as a babies bottoms
Have ordered here several times and was pleasently satisfied. But my last order via grubhub was a disaster. The regular mixed chicken was TERRIBLE!!! What little chicken in it was chewy and sinew. Yuck!!! Ended up eating only the rice and salad. Not worth the extra delivery charge. Go with Jerusalem Cafe, Pita House or Sharma Express.
I have to try once more. I ordered the shish kabobs, and the girl didnt ask if I wanted the dinner or the sandwich, so she charged me for the dinner and I wanted the sandwich. The beef was a little over cooked, so I have to try one more time and order my food correctly then I will rate it again.
Very bad customer service. When I ordered 3 mint teas for $2.50 each they brought it in a 8 oz cup and the mint leaves in there were brown and had some fungus on Them and when I asked the waiter to please bring a new one she kept arguing saying no because there’s nothing wrong with it. Worst service
The falafel sandwich is delicious. Overflowing with so many flavorful veggies that you dont need to add any sauce. Im used to pieces of lettuce and tomato stuffed into the pita as an afterthought but there were onions and pickles that just put this over the top. As a vegetarian, I chose the restaurant but the other people with me got the meat plate and are still talking about how great the shawarma was. Family owned and operated is also nice.
We had been to this restaurant and we liked most of the things the employees are really good.and so is the food .we ordered chicken shawarmas and salads which were delicious but our order for tilapia was not so .we felt that it was not done well and was smelling bad .but as soon as we report this to the receptionist.he exchanged the order without any problem..will visit the place again
Food is ok and over priced . Low quantity. I was turned off when the manager/owner charges a dollar as substituting fee. He did it to almost every customers while I was standing . It became annoying . The food is already expensive comparing to other similar restaurant in the vicinity . In addition , the similar restaurants will give you the options to add food of your choice at no additional charge . The menu at pita pita is designed to charge you the additional fee. Not cool .
2nd Visit - Still a Hit - Fresh ingredients/prep makes such a difference! This go round for a dinner we shared some of our favorites from our last time (Chicken Veggie (similar to Italian Chicken) and the Veggie Platter) and also tried the Beef Shawarma (spelling?). Next time I will try the lamb. Dining room was not as sparkling clean as it was the last time at lunch so well keep an eye on that. The FALAFEL on the Veggie Platter could not have been better (so CRISP outside). The Tabbouleh (again Im not going to get the menu to check my spelling) was very fresh.
Food at this place is okay. Their lunch portions are large, but thats where it ends. The salad that comes with the lunch special is so bad, I didnt even bother to eat. Their Palatine location is even worse, bought dinner to go one day and ended up tossing the whole thing in the trash bin.

2022-05-02Thoroughly enjoyed our food here. The dishes we ordered were yummy. Plenty for vegetarians to choose from. Lovely ambience and quick service. Really like that they keep some sauces on the side and that they keep it refrigerated.

2022-06-10First time coming here, but wont be the last! Our meal was delicious. Everything was delicious and fresh. Prices were great for the amount of food you received. I also got a piece of baklava and it was also delicious! Not overly sweet, and nicely buttery. Definitely recommend coming here!

2022-03-19This was my first time trying Mediterranean food, I am a fan now. Its a must try. Clean place, and excellent service. If your not sure what to try, they have a full photo album of every dish and the staff is very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
