OMG! The food is so good for being outside. I am the Veggie Burger Fan. Being on the beach and looking at the Chicago Skyline while vibing and dancing is a Kundini Rush! Yay!
It has a beautiful scenery where the deck sits. You are surrounded by the beach. It has a bar and a food stand.
What a joke, hours say open then you pay 28 dollars to park to walk over and find out they are closed. If you had you know a phone number it might freaking help

My first time going on a Friday and I can say the crowd and the DJ were just right. It was a mature crowd and the DJ played everything from old school R&B, to house, to rap to blues! A little of everything. Ive never eaten at the restaurant but there is always a line and I heard the wings were great.
I enjoyed almost everything about my 5hrs on the beach, patio and in the restaurant. Only problem was I bought 2 Long Islands at the bar from a bartender with a beard. They were GREAT! Worth it. BUT, I went back and a young lady with 2 toned almost shoulder length braids/locs made my Long Island and I noticed she skipped 3 liquors and added lemonade instead. It wasnt even half as potent. Avoid this young lady because she will cheat you on your drink. And at $17, I at least deserve to get what I pay for. #dontcheatme
Nice scenery of the city & the atmosphere was nice too.
Good vibes & drinks. Music is always happening & if you feel like taking a walk out onto the pier, docks or beach- youre right there already. The Houze Muzik is the best in the city.
My friends and I setup on the beach right next to Pier31st Restaurant. We was vibing to the music they played while we ate in the sand. The restaurant does have a patio with seating however we choose to sit and eat. We had a really good time. Would definitely recommend if going to 31st beach to position yourself next to the restaurant for the music. Plus they do sell alcoholic cocktails as well.

Food was amazing!! Made to order and still hot when received!! It has a beautiful view of the Lake and is near the entrance of 31st Street beach so get a chance to watch everyone entering and leaving the beach area. Lovely place to just sit and enjoy a meal before, during, or after your beach shenanigans! Also the music be on point (depending)!!!

I enjoyed myself here for years… until tonight 7/1/21 b/c of Ms. Bartender charging $72 for 3 double Kettle One. You didnt have to charge me more than others ordering the same thing. If you needed $omething, you could have asked.Trash Vodka from a trash bartender.
What more can you say about pier 31 other than wow! Im born & raised here in the Chi!You cant find a better chill spot in the entire city! Pier 31 is the essence of Chicago.
Beach front restaurant located on outdoor deck with beautiful views of Lake Michigan, and downtown skyline. Live and DJ music and dancing on select days and evenings when weather permits. Deck side bar with drink specials and the usual drink offering suspects. Typical quick bite menu with fried favourites such as chicken wings and French fries. Beach access with lifeguard on duty during summer season hours. Metered parking along drive as well as metered parking lots.
I was in town from Louisville, KY. Great music, nice vibe! Live band was on point! Adult atmosphere, but family friendly. I plan to come back during the summer.
After 2 years of complaints. Customer service skills has improved drastically at the pier. The cashiers are respectable, they say thank you. No problems with getting extra napkins. They are nicer.The rich, wealthy boaters are the problem. And of course those in blue protect the wealthy well there. The boaters are rude and very nasty. Thank God for Daniel Burnham in the 1900s expressed the lake front for everybody...just not the rich and powerful.
The chicken wings were excellent.
Cool place to visit early afternoon. Refreshments and food are average, dogs, and sandwiches. Beautiful spot on Lakeshore Drive and good parking with meters. The later in the day and evening it goes the DJ shows and the club environment is there to stay.
Didnt go to the restaurant only to the dance party! It was so good being amongst my Melanated people listening to some good house music!
Nikki Hayes is a wonderful owner who takes care of her people. We love her and the Pier. We love dancing and being around the lovely people.

I didnt eat, but the House Music on Thursday was very enjoyable!!! Lots of good people, great music but get there early or youll have trouble parking.
My wife and I rode our bikes for 14 miles. We came back to the pier had a Grey Goose and my wife had a Stella or two. We split a wonderful colossal cheese burger and fries. The D.J. played Marvin, Temps and everything my wife wanted. God Bless him. We had a blast !!
The view of the lakefront is gorgeous! The Thursday house music crowd is the best outdoor party! The food is good but the wait is a bit long.

Pretty good food to be on the beach. Decent amount of time to wait. But for a quick bite and a drink. Good to go. Gone have a lot of nights out there.

The bartenders and bar staff are horrible and rude.. No customer service skills period. The music is great I will never get them another penny at that bar though and recommend you follow suit.

As a boater living in my boat, the volume has been unbearable lately. Especially when it begins at 7 am and keeps going till sundown. Its becoming disrespectful to their neighboring boating community.

I visited Pier 31 for a special summer event. The customer service was terrible and the drinks weren’t consistent. Staff was a bit unorganized and tables were messy.
Totally understaffed on Labor Day. 45+ minute wait for 2 burgers.

Horrible people to do business with, the place is located in a beautiful spot on the lake and if you walking by and want to just chill thats ok. But to rent the spot from them dont do it very poor business skills.

If you’re an outside person (with some money in your pocket) then this is for you! My husband and I bought two drinks and it was $50 dollars. The bar tinder’s play their own music from what I’m seeing and beware of events (like baby showers) because they reserve tables for that event and if there’s any extra tables it’ll be the ones in the sun. A live band is setting up now it looks like. Food is expensive too.

2022-06-18Stopped off after a long bike ride along the lakefront. The team behind the counter was friendly and helpful. The burger and fries were hot and delicious. A view of the lake and Chicago Skyline was a bonus.

2022-07-24The food is good! Great vibes going on too! To be honest though, it was a little too crowded for me but, that is to be expected when you are providing people with such a great experience. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend giving them a visit. Definitely try their chicken wings! You will not be disappointed.

2021-08-07Thursday nights is the night to visit the Pier. Get there by 4 if you want to find a decent parking spot. The energy is great and there is lots of great music. Reminiscent of the House Music Picnic

2022-06-21Lots of help know body has any direction…Ordered steak ran out of backed potato…no salad…roll was hard as a rock…ribeye steak had fat but this was very poor cut…bottled beer was hit so they offered a cold glass …that didn’t work tons of foam.. used to be good now not do much…would have drank 5:6 beers but not warm beer…got ice tea it should have been free no discount for items I didn’t receive either…not going back anytime soon…also took nice tables an umbrella from outside…

2019-09-02Live music or à DJ, full bar, and your basics in Chicago Park District beach fare. The food is good but pricey, but you get live entertainment and a whole amazing beach with it. The bartenders are cool and the drinks are not insanely priced. This is just a super cool place to bike out to and hang out. You will catch people dancing, so don’t hold back if you’re so inclined.
