On December 19, 2021, I went to this location for my dog to take pictures with Santa. The lady told me I was going to receive the picture thru email within 24 hours, its been a couple of days now and I have not received anything. I called, spoked to management and pretty much told me they couldnt find no pictures of my dog and could not do anything about it. It was a big waste of time!
Horrible experience for both hospitals and the grooming. I’ve called before to ask if walk in to cut my cut nails is available they say yeah but every time I come in they never take care of her. Which is weird because it takes them two mins to cut them. Hospital didn’t communicate price for dental over the phone, which led to me coming in for no reason. Stood at the cashier to be check out for more than 20 mins. This place customer service sucks a lot
I went for a big bag of puppy pads. I searched online for pricing and availability. The on the shelf pricing was listed as more than the online price, but at checkout was even lower priced than listed online because Im also a rewards member. Confusing for sure but still got what I wanted at a great price and in stock.
Caught two workers being s*xual. Let’s just say fingers and back-ends were included. I filed a complaint, but I returned to see one worker still there. I just figured I can travel a little longer to PetCo. Although I hate their staff attitude. Gonna miss you, PetSmart.
I was sold a item that had been returned and didnt have all the parts and when I return that one I was given another pump that was new but defective and on my third trip I was told to buy a cheaper but more reliable pump(pet smart waited two hours of my time this morning.
My go to store! Isaac is one of the managers and has an up and beyond attitude to help you help your animal. Science hill has been impacted by the pandemic, my 18 year old cat has been put on a special diet not only has Isaac called me each day telling me whats going on but has put comparable food on hold thats on the market that can be substituted for now until the prescription comes back to the shelves. Hes amazing best detour for my kitty.
We bring my dog to Doggie Day Camp every Wednesday, as my wife and I both work late on Wednesdays. She absolutely loves coming here and comes home exhausted and so happy. Every Wednesday morning she anxiously waits at the door for us to put her leash on so that we dont forget to bring her with us! (seriously, dogs are so smart).The people who work there know her and always greet her with a smile and a laugh when my dog inevitably trips over her own paws from pure excitement. At $20/day for a full day of play, its a very fair price, too. For any working dog-parent or anyone with a high-energy dog who wants to give them a fun day away, this is a wonderful option. The employees care about your dogs well-being and are so friendly and willing to make accommodations. Highly recommended!
I didnt get my cashiers name but I remember she said she was fairly new, 6weeks in, and she went above and beyond to connect with everyone she rang up. Shes exceptional at her job. She deserves the world and a raise🤩🥰 wish I had her name but all I know was she was an older person of color. I hope she is having a good holiday this year.
When I brought my dog Adele home on Monday after leaving her at her 1st visit at the Petsmart Hotel two days before, she was happy. When home, she drank water as never before. I even completed the survey with stellar ratings based on my initial meeting when I left her. But then she developed a terrible diarrhea not to be helped with a bland white rice/chicken diet which lasted into Friday when I took her to the vet and cost me $$$. Besides she found carpeting as her favorite spot and Im still shampooing the rugs. I tried calling the Petsmart Hospital, left a message. Nobody ever called me back. This is my first visit at the Petsmart Hotel. She is 16% pit bull terrier and was not allowed to play with other dogs, so I dont know why this happened to her. I will not be returning to the Petsmart Hotel. She is still on antibiotics and pre and probiotics.
Staff is friendly, but the store really needs to rethink how it does the pet adoptions. Our cat of 19 years passed away a few months ago, and we were so sad. Finally, we were ready to pursue a new kitty for our family, and happily filled out an application. We even had our hopes set on a particular one, and were told the paperwork would take about a week to review and be approved. But the way they do it, really leaves you hanging. Here we are, a week later, and no call. Perhaps the kitty we hoped for found another loving home (which is fine with us), but we were ready to spend about$500 on cat trees, toys and supplies, only to not be given a call. And, thats how they operate. If chosen, you get a call. If not, you just never hear anything. It made us really sad, and now we dont even want to go back into the store and try again. I really think they need to rethink their process, for it left us sad, and feeling rejected (we even gave our vet as a reference!). #PleaseRethinkYourProcessPetSmart
I made an appointment a week ago and I just drove all the way here for them to tell me they dont have anything scheduled. When I scheduled the appointment, they never got an email, phone number, of credit card, so I asked them TWICE if they needed anything else from me and they said no. Why make an appointment if theyll cancel it without telling you?
This is the first time I used Pet Smart for one of our cats to get claws trimmed. I was delighted on the ease of the groomer in handling our 13lb. cat. It had taken my husband and me 20 min. to get him in the cat carrier before we came. Erin pulled Kit out of the carrier, checked over his teeth, expertly trimmed his claws, and we were done in a few minutes ( less than 5). My husband and I found the task of trimming Kits claws impossible, but Erin did it in no time flat.
I seriously just received the best customer service from Mike at the Evanston store! He went above and beyond to help me and it’s great to see that some employees know how to treat a customer. I’m pretty sure he’s a manager, and if he isn’t he definitely needs to be! Thank you so much Mike!
We bought a dwarf hamster from this place. Not only was my 8 year old more knowledgeable than those working there, they also sold us a cage that was horrible. Our hamster managed to escape and never return, after we all got attached to him. What kind of a pet store doesnt know which cages to sell? Now my daughter wont stop crying. Thanks a lot for the horrible experience!
I adopted a cat from this location. The staff was very friendly to the pets and to insure my needs were met. While I waited for my pet, I watched a staff patiently assist a customer who had very challenging questions about blending foods to feed her dogs. I shop here often for my other pet and It is always a friendly helpful environment. It was pleasant having such caring people assist me with the adoption. I recommend this PetSmart, to everyone who have or desires to have pets.
Came into this location 2 times I waited for 10 minutes for the worker in the fish department to help me out after he was done with the lady in front he walked away and came back and said the store was closed it happened 2 times CHRIS is the worst customer service worker I’ve ever been assisted by.
Unfortunately we had a bad experience at the grooming salon. They burned my pup and were not very helpful when I called to ask what products were used and how they dried her. I was attempting to figure out if it was a chemical burn or a burn from heat. They didnt offer a refund, just for me to bring my pup in so they could look at her (not sure what a grooming salon is going to do?). I did not bring her in to them again and took her to my vet. Avoid this store for grooming.
Probably THE WORST shopping experience my wife and I went to this location on Oakton to start an aquarium. We had been doing research for a few weeks and were interested in angelfish. When we went there we first started looking at tanks and an employee asked what we were going to put in the tank we had a 20 gal. I said angelfish and she said “ABSOLUTELY NOT! One angelfish will need at least a 60 gal. “ which was weird because everything I saw said about 10 gal per angelfish and we only wanted 2. I could have been wrong so I went with it and looked for a bigger tank they had 10 20 29 and then jump all the way up to like 150 gal nothing in between, so we start looking at other fish and another employee came along and asked can she help we were really just trying to see which we liked so I said “no we are just looking” she said “what are you looking for” I explained that we really just want to pick a fish we like and then we have that we will ask for help about the tank and set up requirements she would not take this for an answer and continued to question us until I finally got irritated and asked was she in rush or are they about to close because I didn’t understand why we couldn’t have a few minutes to just look. After this she said that maybe if she explained the fish to me it would help(very demeaning) so I was forced to listen to a 10 minute presentation about all of the fish which really didn’t affect my decision at all. She kept making vast over statements like “you can do up to 1 inch per fish” and “all the fish in the top row can go in a 10 gallon” which included angelfish but then when I asked about what the other employee said she said “that’s a different story “ and then after asking about a few other fish I got the feeling that she wasn’t going to let us get anything less than a 30 gal tank which they didn’t have which means I’d have to get the 100 something gal tank. So after all was said and done we left with no fish and no real information about what we would need. So I don’t know if they were having a company contest on who could sell the biggest tank but i ended up leaving with nothing except knowing for sure I won’t be back to this location Also before we left the employee who gave the 10 minute presentation gave me a pamphlet that I thought was going to give me info on fish care and tank set ups but it’s about treating fish diseases so yea again not helpful.
The store was clean and the clearance aisles were plentiful, but I was walking around for 15 minutes waiting for an associate to help me at the kennels (new dog owner, I needed help choosing the appropriate size). Several employees walked past on their way to break and not one even gave me a second glance. Don’t expect great service.
Store: First off I want to say the store itself is AMAZING. They always have the items I need in stock, my dog loves it and I always find GREAT deals on dog food, treats and toys.PetsHotel/Doggy Day Camp: I’ve never left my 4 y/o dog since I got him 4 years ago. While traveling this Thanksgiving I had to find care for him. The staff at this location were great, they went above and beyond to make him happy and comfortable and I highly recommend them.
I have been using this Store for over 25 Years. Due to the Addition of theirs of Products, including an Animal Hotel, Grooming Service and Animal Clinic, they have been able to accommodate all Needs. The Staff is super-friendly, very knowledgeable and interested in Accommodating your Special Needs. The Selection of their Products is great, they frequently have “Special Sales” and I like the Special Display of “Phase-Outs”, obviously at a special Discount. The only Improvement I can suggest is a more responsive Check-Out Area, the Delay there, is at Times taxing.
They have a dog training area, groomer, vet: totally one stop shop! The employees Ive interacted with were attentive. The small animals and fish seem to be in good condition, though we saw a dead beta fish on the shelf in one of the dozens of little jars. I am always reasured when I see a veiled chameleon not looking stressed.
We took our dog to doggie daycare here which was AWESOME! Sadly though they forgot a toy he brought with him and we live out of state. I decided to give them a call to see what they could do and they gave me a credit for the amount the toy cost in the store so I could get him a new one in our home store. We so so so appreciated that!!
Everything you need for your fur companion you can get here. Its a good sized store and the staff are helpful if not always knowledgeable (I have two giant picky Maine Coons who wont eat pate food unless I starve them for a week, and every time I ask the staff to help me find high protein food that is not pate, they falter). A little more training would help the staff.
Brought my dog here for the 1st time about 2 months ago for a nail grind, the staff was so sweet and didnt judge him based off of his breed. I brought my dog back to grooming 3 weeks later and the staffed remembered him and made us feel like wed been coming in for years! Today I brought my dog in again for the 3rd time and once again the grooming staff was happy to see him! Im very impressed with the way they treat all the pets, they make us feel welcomed everytime, my gentle giant pitbull and I are definitely satisfied with the customer service here!!! Highly recommended!!
Always a pleasure to come into your location at Oakton near McCormick. The experience is very friendly and professional. Everyone is helpful and engaging with a smile and I think thats what makes me and Im sure others coming back.Ive been to other stores and I dont have the same feeling of family as I do when I walk into your location. This is because I have been coming to your store for over twelve years and Mike was your first person that I had engaged with regarding my Red Eared Sliders (Aquatic Turtles). His knowledge and experience with working in the field of reptiles was very impressive as well as helpful to my needs.I have been able to communicate with Mike about my turtles as well as my Albino Leopard Gecko and so much more ever since.I have been unable to get to your location and I happened to be by the PetSmart on Touhy in Niles. Its a very nice store and its been a place where I have been able to get the things that I needed for my pets, but recently my experience with working with the staff was not as enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the my needs of my pets. While I was trying to just cut time off my commute and I figured that I would run in and get everything I needed was fine in a pinch but not the same. The manager Sara, was very nice and helpful but I just dont think that she knows enough about the things that I needed to help me with my pets.Its very important to me that I have the proper knowledge from an individual who can help me with my Aquatic pets. I dont think that shes able to. She sold me some Aquatic Turtle food and it turned my water in my seventy five gallon tank PINK !! My turtles body was slightly pink in color and I had to break down my whole tank and clean it !!What the heck are they putting in the food is the first question and then why is this on the market. I was trying to find something else that I could give as a little treat in between feedings for my turtle and then this happens !?!Its very important to me, the consumer, to have knowledgeable people working in this field.I will not be going back to that store any time soon.I should have never left Mikes store in the first place because even though he was just starting out, he knew what he was doing.Recently I had to go to your store and I met yet another wonderful person named, Isac, who was professional and experienced in his field with the knowledge of the things that I needed for my pets. Its so important that I can come into your location and be able to engage with all of your employees in any manner as to what I need. Sandra and Ben are just a few more people I think that I should mention because theyre very important to me whenever I need something.I also have a beautiful Staffordshire Terrier who has known Mike since she was a puppy.Shes eight years old now and she absolutely the best !!Thankfully, she came into our lives. By the way,Lola our baby girl, was a rescue from very horrific circumstances and one of your old employees who was friends with my daughter, was instrumental in helping us with this rescue.Youre employees at this location have been a wonderful part of my life and I will continue to be a loyal customer.Thanks for always being a special part of my pets lives and mine. Just love being able to take my doggies to the store and go inside with them. They love it being able to see other dogs etc. Especially with the winters we have here in Chicago the doggies and I get stir crazy staying in the house day after day after day....Thank you PetSmart!
Awesome and affordable .. I was pleased and my babies were not stressed from the visit. I didnt break the bank even walked out with treats.. I would recommend .Kudos to the Doctors and Staff for helping me and my babies walk away feeling good with sincere customer service .
I dropped my cats off for a 3 day stay and was met with very unfriendly staff who had no interest in my cats. Then I had made a grooming appointment to have nail caps put on and I received a mean phone call accusing me of not knowing I needed to provide the caps (which were in a bag I had left but the guy upon check in was only half listening). Finally she found them and I asked specifically to only have the caps put on the front claws. However when I picked them up they have caps on all their claws.When I picked the cat up I asked how their stay was received ”fine”. When they finally came out from the back they reeked of urine. After I commented on it the lady said “oh yeah they Peed in their crate”. That was it I got no review of how their stay was or what happened. Not to mention they could’ve called me to tell me that they stink and asked to have given them a bath.I do not recommend this place and I would not leave your animals here. Now I have to take them to go get a bath and Everything I brought there stinks (cat backpack/blankets).
We only need to go... we never need to go, but we choose to every several months to get something or other for the dog. I pretty much make my kids come with me to look at the hamsters, I really want a hamster, but I need the kids to want one to justify my getting one.
Tara at this location is the BOMB! She is such an awesome trainer and truly cares about your pup. My pup Biggie and I came here for beginner classes recommended by some peers on FB and all praised her for her ability to train their pets. I decided to try it and I see a huge difference in my pup already. By no means is he perfect, but he is so much more attentive and he practices much more self-control. Tara really ensures you understand how to train your pet and how to be consistent with them. I would definitely recommend classes with her and I will be taking more classes here as well! 5 stars from me and Mr. Bigs.
My 6 month old puppy absolutely loves this Petsmart! We started out trying the doggie day camp and he always has a blast! The staff is wonderful! He always comes home exhausted! Hes disappointed on days when my husband and I are home and he cant go to daycare. The early drop off and late pick up hours are a huge plus for my husband and I as our schedules vary throughout the week. The staff in the regular store is also super great! I can always find an associate if I have a question. We are very excited to try the grooming salon and puppy obedience class next week.
Terrible customer service at BANFIELD. I’ve been a customer of theirs for 17 years. Show up for an appointment and sat around waiting for 15 minutes at the front desk with no one around, had to finally call the location for someone to come out of the back to the front of the store to help me. Tried to check my pet in and was told the 15 minutes was too early they could check me in at the hour instead. 👍🏻 Not coming here anymore.
I love petsmart. I have been going there for 5 years. I love how its not very far. The first time my dog went to the pet hotel she was frightened, but the staff comforted her. The staff really care about the animals and dont just leave them lying there. Petsmart also has all my needs for my other pets like food, toys, and everything. All in all I think Pet smart is a nice place.
I have been taking my dog to PetSmart to be groomed for 2 years now. The hair cut that she got today is the most disappointing. I asked for them to make my dogs hair very short due to the warmth, and it is still very long. They only took off about half the length and I wanted a lot more than that. Her face is still a mess and Im going to have to find some scissors and fix that myself. My dog gets so anxious when we go, that I try to leave quickly, so going back to complain is not an option. I am very disappointed and Im seriously thinking about not returning.
I missed my kitty, that had to be put down - so I stopped to watch the Doggy Daycare, wanting to see HAPPY animals. ... a very nice employee from Blue Pearl Animal 911, where my kitty was taken care of, works here part-time. She saw me, told me there are cats for adoption in back. I wasnt ready, but I enjoyed seeing these cats and reading their little back stories; how they ended up here.I used to go here for pet food, supplies and toys. Every once in a while they hire humans that shouldnt be here, who I hope a provoked animal attacks; BUT, overall this is a decent pet store (since there is no address, Im hoping Im rating/reviewing the right store). I think theres a vet clinic here, a grooming salon and the afore mentioned dog daycare. Many people bring their pets in and thats always nice to see.
The birds there look miserable. Its one thing to sell small birds that sell quickly and are good for beginners. But the cockatiels are literally jammed into a cage that barely accommodates finches comfortably. . And the canaries sit there until they get arthritis from sitting on the same size perch until they are rescued. Im sorry, but seeing them in that condition literally reminded me to go back to my smaller pet shop or to buy supplies for my small zoo online. Torturing a burd just for profit is just bad buisness. Stick to parakeets and finches. Leave the more advanced birds to the breeders or specialty bird shops. I will probably not return to your store or any other petsmart after seeing this. Its disgusting.
I shop at the Evanston Petsmart for my two cats, and I am able to find all their needs at a reasonable price with friendly and helpful service. This location always has wheat grass for my cats, and not all locations do. This location also has prescription required pet food, which is convenient as my cats require it. The PetSmart employee at the front of the store has always welcomed me once I walk in the front door, and that is always a nice touch!
I come here for crickets its the only place close by my house and i always have to go find someone in the store with my two kids. After you wait and search for an employee you than wait another 10 mins in line. Its worth driving the extra 5 10 mins somewhere else. Dont waste your time here.
I shop at exclusively at Petsmart to get all my pets supplies. Its the best! My kitty had been having a real problem with hair balls and their associates were was so very helpful in helping me find the exact right food to really cut down on her hair Ball problems. I would recommend them to anyone. Theyve got from what I can see a real large selection of...well everything you can think of for pets. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to get supplies for their pets!!! Yay! Petsmart!!!!
On Monday, April 19th I took my dog to this Petsmart for a Bath with Furmanator ($37) for the first time. It worked very well but within 24 hours.....now my dog has an eye infection from this service. Thanks to Petsmart, I had to pay a $200 vet bill because of their sloppy work. I am very upset and pissed off due to sloppy service. I will no longer have my dog service at this Petsmart.

2021-09-12If your looking to buy betta fish dont come here. There wall of betta fish are mostly dead. Go to pet supply plus they actually care for the fish. The photos here are from short videos I took before the made me stop recording.

2021-12-20The staff is nice enough, however our dog is a rescue. After attempting to board out dog there, they called quickly to say she was growling at them. I understand not wanting to put yourself at risk or danger, but there was NO effort made to get to know our sweet dog or anything prior to placing her in the back where it is loud, new, and 100 dogs barking. Id be anxious too if I had to stay back there. They told me they wouldnt walk her or give her play time, just simply clean up her droppings for the week. NO effort was made to make our dog feel comfortable. Other dogs love it there, however it was not for us.

2022-03-23Thanks to the team at the PetsHotel for taking great care of Roxie while I was traveling this week. She had a minor tummy issue while she was there, and the on-site vet was able to check her out and sent her home with an antibiotic. Im not sure which one of us was more excited to see the other after almost a week apart!

2022-01-20After coming up empty at other pet supply stores, I was happy to see they had plenty of cat food in stock. I was so happy! Also, the person who checked me out had helpful info for my underweight cat, and she was friendly and fast. Ill be shopping here more often.
