Beautiful, peaceful and Serene. Plenty of parking. The walking pads are paved. You can access the Kankakee River which is beautiful. Currently the childrens play area is closed due to covid-19 however it looks like a lovely place. I would highly recommend for a day outside gorgeous setting
We came here for The Indian Caves. It was a bit tough to find as there wereno maps on the paved trail. We for me the cabes almost by accident so my advice is to follow the asphalt path to the Kankakee river and go into the caves there. Its a tough hike, but well worth it. Bring water/hiking shoes as you can either follow the path through the woods (looking down on the caves), or go through the water. We followed the water with an 8 year old and a 4 year old. Water doesnt get deep, but the rocks are slippery so take your time. It is amazing though.
Pretty farm park... Ive lived around this area forever and been out this way a bunch of times. Only now have I experienced this park. This place is so well maintained, the paths are very nice. The equipment is awesome. Walk down to the Indian caves and check that out as well. Ill check out the kids museum next time Im out.
Fun park, many wheelchair friendly paths. The real draw are the Indian Caves. Be careful going too high up, there are many places where you could legitimately fall and seriously injure yourself. Exploring the caves doesnt have to be dangerous, just know your limits and have a friend with you. Its a great park and a hidden gem of the area. Its not exactly the kind of place you could explore for weeks, you could easily see everything in a single day.
This park is one of the best in the area for walk/run/biking trails. There are many chances to see wild animals when on the trails. Along with the huge park and trails is a great playground for children, and a childrens museum. A must visit for anyone in the area and travelers. Beautiful hiking along the creek/waterfall.
The building is very clean!. With all interative play themes in every crook and cranny of the building...The staff cobtinuously clean through out the day 4 or 5 times to maintain the upmost standard for these times..I took my sons as children and now I have rhe sweet pleasure of taking my grandchildren!! Children need play and lsnguage and its a great place to support both!!🙂
Nice area to walk though. There are many trails that curve off and bring you close to the water. Theres also water fountains near the exploration station. The pavilions are nice, and spacious. Id say its the most peaceful area around here for walking, exploring, or just sitting. The road Coyne street has a beautiful pavilion and bench looking out into the water and I think its where most people hang out together. Otherwise they walk next to the river and follow the trails. Ive noticed too that there isnt much litter there.
Lived here all my life, always just a walk away from p farm. love the actual farm, love the park, the sitting areas, food and gas station right across the street for snacks. and of course you cant forget the indian caves. if you want to just have a nice day in nature, with some fun (safe) climbing and have a river and a place to swim. perry farm is your place to be
Are your children 2 or under? Theyve got activities for them.Toddlers all the way to elementary? There are things for them to enjoy, as well!Middle schoolers and irritable teenagers? Guess what? They can have fun, too! From the Exploration Station to the Indian Caves, there are activities for the entire family to enjoy at Perry Farms. I highly encourage anyone wanting to unplug and enjoy some time with their family to come and savor a day (or a week) exploring all of the various activities at Perry Farm!
Great little park! New playground, beautiful pscenery and paved trail down to river and also connects to others parks and State Park. Highly recommend for a 2-4 mile quick scenic walk/hike. Since trail is asphalt can ride bikes and should be wheelchair accessible too. Can get a chance to get wet too.
Perry Farm was very busy. I was impressed with the scarecrows. It was nice to see so many families out both looking at the scarecrows & playing in the childrens playground. Its a beautiful place to go for a walk. I never tire of walking along the river or visiting the Indian Caves & dreaming of days long gone by. The wildflowers & wildlife are cool too. Its a place my children & grandchildren enjoy.
Very nice park, have enjoyed it for the 15 years we have lived here. But this day was special, as we were there to see the traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. Very moving experience. Not quite the same as the actual Wall in D.C. but catch it somewhere if you can.
I used to live in Bradley/bourbonnais. I biked at Perry farm often, and my favorite part is the unpaved mountain bike trails through the woods. Its not very busy on the unpaved trails, and a fairly easy to moderate ride which is great for beginners. The only reason its not 5 stars is there arent any maps, or marked routes so youre not sure when one splits off and is ride able, or just a dead end deer trail into a thicket.
There are plenty of paths that take you right into nature. There are places for picnics and bathrooms, making it perfect for outdoor family parties. The grounds are extensive, giving you lots to explore. For the kids, there is a playground and the Exploration Station. The park is free, but you do have to pay a little bit to get into the Station. Its worth it, though.
How can you not love this place? There is so much space for activites and a large paved path for jogging and exercise. Ive been going here to spend warm summer days many times in my life. There are trails through the forest as well that are always fun to explore. There are the Indian caves to explore and the pool of water next to the caves that is just deep enough to have fun in. There are dirt jumps for bmx riders on some of the trails that are probably not always maintained but when they are they are nice to use.
Perry farm has fantastic outdoor activities for all ages. The exploration station is awesome for kids and the petting zoo is a lot of fun. I highly recommend it for a visit. The Indian caves and trails are perfect for someone who wants to take a hike. Give it a try its beautiful.
This park does many events for the community that are free. it would be great if more places around Community do this kind of thing as well. There are not many free things to do for somebody who wants to do something Outdoors or indoors for that matter. Most of these events are family friendly and little kids can have a blast.
We come every year for their Walk through Sleep Hollow and are blown away each year by their production. From the acting to the action they deliver on great autumn memories with attractions for the whole family! Loved every minute of it and cant wait again for next year!
A beautiful park, childrens museum, nature preserve and farm, even when there are no special events taking place! For the kids: dwarf horses and farm animals to pet, Exploration Station, farm and playground. For adults: miles of paved bike and walking paths through prairie grass or woods to the Kankakee River and Indian Caves. Many events take place here as well, including vintage car and farm equipment shows, concerts and seasonal presentations. Too many to name! A real gem often overlooked by locals.
I love Perry Farm I use to explore the trails and loved the view of nature I use to get excited when I start walking on the road before the bridge I loved the suspense of it I couldnt wait to see familiar faces that was the exciting part I love that place the trails the Indian caves were so esquite I use to imagine how Indians stayed here Im impressed by the structure of the caves and how there lives must of been i loved the feeling you got when you went down them trails and of course friends and smiling faces around me made it memorable I encourage anyone who ever reads this please give it a chance if you havent its a gorgeous place to spend time in one with nature and people whom ever are close to you to check it out I miss it and it will forever be in my heart and memory until I die god bless Perry Farm whom ever made it possible I salute you guys. Thanks for a god like place 🙏❤️
I love walking the trails but today there was so much dog poo on the trail it was disgusting! If the owners werent going to pick up after their dogs (obviously they werent) they could at least take them off the trail where people walk. Its a shame that a few unresponsable owners can ruin things for everyone else. I think fines should be imposed.
Perry Farms offers a nice getaway without driving out of town. From the playgrounds for younger children to the grassy areas for adolescents to play in, to the paths to walk, run, or bike along, Perry Farm offers a lot to everyone who wants to visit! Make sure to keep an eye out for hummingbirds in the springtime.
Beautiful and extensive pathways. The loop runs along the river, near the Indian caves, and near neighborhoods and smaller playgrounds. There is also a farm, where for a quarter, you can pay a feed machine and have horses, sheep, and adorable goats eat out of your hands, with the exception of the duck and chickens. They have a childrens museum, the Exploration Station, where you can take children ages 2-7 here for fun and various activities. This is the main location for BTPD. Perry Farms farmhouse is actually the main office, with a lovely garden surrounding it.
My husband & I have loved Perry Farm for over 30 years, taken our 3 sons there til they were old enough to go themselves. They love it & now take their families there, too. Its part of us, individually, & as a family. Its also part of our village, Bradley, & Bourbonnais, & Kankakee, & all the cities around us; spreading to & connecting our families in an even greater village.

2022-03-23This park has something for everybody! Kids to adults! I personally love the ever changing prairie that grows between the bike/walking trails! The Indian cave area is super cool too! Just don’t swim in the river past the caves no matter how low. So many people have drowned there. Walk down the creek or along the banks as I have done since a teen, with my young kids, and now as an old lady lol summer is great for that. The Exploration Station was great when my kids were little and I hear it still is! They opened an adorable new playground in the last few years! Very interactive! And of course since Pokémon Go started multiple Pokestops! There’s a petting zoo and even gardens to rent if you want to grow your own veggies but don’t have room at home!

2021-10-16We loved visiting here! It was absolutely beautiful & wonderfully maintained. The trails were perfect for hiking/walking. You have to be careful as bikes can use them too. Theyre pretty easy so nearly anyone can do it. We visited the Indian Caves on our walk which was pretty cool too! Got to see the Kankakee River. Very cozy, nice place to go for an afternoon. Didnt get to visit the animals, but I will next time!

2022-06-01This place was amazing. Everything inside and out was clean, well-maintained and designed for multi-age fun. My two-year old was able to have a fantastic time right alongside all the big kids that were there. They have several play room scenarios with ALL the accoutrements including a Knights castle, a vets office, a grocery store, an emergency room and more. My toddler had a great time in the STEM area playing with a vacuum/forced air tubes, a flight simulator, and the water room. The staff was friendly--they even opened the patio for us so we could go outside and have snack. We ended the day on the spacious and well-appointed playground--again, great for different ages. The day was so action-packed we didnt have time to see the animals. If you have littles that need a nap and cant stay for more than a couple hours, I would recommend not trying to see everything. You will want to give them plenty of time to enjoy this gem of a center!

2022-04-16This is a great park! There are trails for walking/biking along the Kankakee river. This new park they put in is very child friendly with a separate area for younger children. Swings, slides, climbing activities, etc... Exploration Station is right there as well. Another great place for children with amazing learning toys/rooms.

2021-09-23I have enjoyed this park for over 30 years. Its a fun place to get away for a walk or a bicycle ride, or to get together with friends. I think that Executive Director Hollis Clark has done a wonderful job of keeping this park alive and making improvements along the way.Now is the time to go to the park, to enjoy the scarecrow exhibit that annually appears before Halloween.

2021-07-31Great park with lots of shade. My only problem is the corn equipment at a FARM park, that looks nothing like actual corn. Its pretty disappointing from a teaching perspective, and the corn equipment itself is pretty useless compared to the other equipment there. Still a great park that we will revisit. Im just shocked about the corn honestly.

2022-04-07Just one beautiful park of many in Kankakee County... I have been going to Perry Farm since I was a little girl. I love the nature walks and enjoying what mother nature has to offer. Such a beautiful place to relax the mind.
