Came here for Breakfast and they do a great job!! My over medium eggs were perfect! Whites completely cooked and the yolk just set. Hash browns were tasty but next time I will ask for well done/ crispy. They were able to accommodate my request for no melon in my fruit bowl! Good cuppa coffee too! Go local!
This was my first time to Park View Inn. The interior is full of natural light, tv monitor to watch the game, and cute decor. I ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of chorizo hash for heat. My husband ordered the Texas omelette. Both were good. I felt mine was a bit on the greasy side but not horrible so. The wait staff were pleasant and efficient. I will be returning for their evening fare as I noticed they have my favorite White Oak Brewing on tap.
Hands down BEST Tenderloin in Central Illinois. Truly hand breaded (I got to see them do it). Staff are amazing. Onion rings are a must try. Pairs exceptionally well with a White Oak Blonde Ale. Beautiful new building with an outdoor seating area looking out to Miller Park. Bonus if you get to meet the owner Rick he is an awesome host, he wont let a customer leave unsatisfied.
I ordered the walleye and the three pieces where very small and overcooked so they were very dry, the baked potato was very tiny by the time you scraped it out of the peel you had very little potato to eat, also the place was very very noisy, I was not impressed I doubt that I would go back
0 ZEOR STARS our jeep broke down and the owner would NOT let us in to stay warm EVENTHOUGH its February 5th 2022 and we just had a huge snow storm and its NEGATIVE 5 outside. We were 2 young girls in our 20s just waiting for a tow truck because our jeep wouldnt turn on for heat even and they still WOULD NOT let us in to stay warm because it was a private party we were left out in the cold. we will NEVER go back and Im from the area just wanting to wait for a tow truck. just me just I would not want to be supporting a place that is ran like this leaving ANYONE out in the cold. (5 stars only so this gets pushed to the top)
Open, friendly atmosphere! Staff are very polite and attentive, just like I remember before the old building burned down. I had a tenderloin, that was hands made and absolutely delicious. Michelle ordered the grown up grilled cheese and I sampled, which was delicious too! I highly recommend taking the drive through town to have an amazing, relaxing meal that wont break the budget!
Mo Ri clearly has a sad life living in his/her mothers basement. Very hateful and gave numerous ugly evaluations of other restaurants with seemingly less then honest recommendations. I suggest MoRi continue to stay in the basement and to stay off the computer. Hacks are everywhere!
Hot and fresh! Might have been the first tenderloin Id had in years, and it was huge. Both my friends order and mine came out too hot to immediately eat. Service was decent, beer was cold. They have five or six beers on tap and a pint of Goose Island is $5. Very affordable. Bar/restaurant itself is a nice open floor plan with beautiful wood on floors, tables, and walls with a large window overlooking Miller Park. Very nice!
Ive always liked this place. Back before the rebuild it was still consistently good. Dining outside can get a bit noisy during high traffic, but its still comfortable. I recommend it for good food and good service. The management is doing a great job as they always have.
7/5/21: Breakfast - understaffed. 20 minutes to place order, then... 1hr + 25min MORE to get food for a table of two! (Other tables werent as bad - maybe an overlooked ticket. But still had to pay. Tipped well because server did her job). Servers were cheerful and working hard, but were overwhelmed and seating tables too. The manager was acting as the only cook. The food was good, though not hot. I was in this business for 18 years, and know the struggle well. But the problems here were extreme. This was Mon 7/5, observing the 7/4 holiday, so maybe the crowd was larger than expected. PV Inn generally gets solid reviews, so might give it another chance.
Wow I ate at Ozarks in Bloomington for dinner last night it was one of the worst experiences Ive ever had. Parkview redeemed that experience. Restaurant was packed but are server was very attentive. Great service but most importantly the food was amazing! I got the biscuits and gravy bit my guest had the steak fries which were unlike anything I ever seen. Delicious! If youre in town come visit you will not be disappointed.
This was our first time since the rebuild, our service was ok was not the best had to ask for silverware and we didnt get all our food at once. Burger was dry and the mash potatoes was runny. Heard a lot of good things I was expecting it to be better. May not be back.
Fabulous! Beautiful! Terrific food And excellent service. Rick has done an amazing job bringing this place back to life. Pie? Do you want pie? This is the place for the best pie on earth! Staff is very friendly. You almost feel like you’re at cheers as everybody knows your name! You have to go and mingle around looking at the table tops that alone would be worth your trip! Several TVs as well
Had the walleye dinner with slaw. The Cole slaw isnt the greatest, but the rest was delicious! Perfect price too! I got peanut butter parfait pie for dessert. Only had to pay a little bit cause we had a gift certificate, but we could have afforded what we ordered. Nice new restaurant!
After waiting unacknowledged as the the only people in line for ten minutes we were seated. Then fifteen more minutes at the table for no one to come and give menus (as we sat watching others who came in after us get menus) we got up and left. As we were leaving a waitress asked why we were leaving...Too bad as we saw just gorgeous food coming out and being served
Friendly service but we ended up leaving only after ordering drinks because the employees weren’t properly wearing masks during the order to wear masks. Masks were worn but mouths and noses were not covered. Manager wasn’t wearing a mask at all. I do not recommend eating here.EDIT: After the owner responding this to me:Response from the owner 3 hours agoWearing a mask is NOT the law. I would suggest exercising your own freedom of choice and stay home away from others if you are so worried about being in out in public. Go to any other business in this town and you will see the exact same situation inside of those places as you experienced here. Your review has nothing to do with our business or the service you received, it is your way to force your own ideas onto others.Im removing all stars that I can due to lack of friendliness and professionalism in your response to my experience. I expect places of business to treat customers with respect. I have been to numerous restaurants since this and have had great experiences. My original post was to just simply inform people who are concerned about Covid that they may not feel safe here. People have the right to read my review and make a decision for themselves. I will be giving my business to other local places in town who strive to meet the comfort levels of the least of these and I hope others will do the same. My goal is not to have a back and forth argument and this will be my final response. My goal was to leave a review of my personal experience. I understand that my experience may not be the same as others.
First time being back after they rebuilt the restaurant. The new building is awesome. More room in there and you can see out the windows no matter where you sit. Everyone on the staff are friendly and courteous. Food is delicious and worth going here. I had the pork tenderloin. It was simply the best Ive ever had. My son had the chicken strips. He said they were delicious as well. Definitely going back. I hear their broasted chicken is worth going there for (it is available after 4 pm). If you want reasonable prices for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you must check out Parkview Inn. I assure you it is well worth it.
I rarely ever complain but Ive eaten here twice for breakfast and the food was not good both times. Ordered crispy bacon and it came back raw, eggs have no taste and only got 1 piece of toast rather than the normal two. I will give it one more try but if there is no improvement thats it! The building is nice and the staff was friendly but...
My first visit ever, even though I grew up here. Obviously has been completely redone, and was very warm, inviting and comfortable. Exactly what I hoped for. Great reasonably priced food. 1/2 chicken, it was wonderful. And kudos for the Manhattan. Delicious. Service couldnt have been better, which is a huge plus Im discovering in my return to Bloomington.
Service was standard but my God the breakfast was awful. Every one of our sides were cold and clearly left out. The bacon was cold and rock hard. The biscuits were crunchy like stale bread and the gravy tasted like soap. Our pancake was cold and fused to the plate it was served on due to cold grease. I dont know how this place has good reviews, but I will never return.
Stopped in for our first visit. Sunday morning. Seat yourself. Sat down. After a few minutes, waitress collected menus and took order from table next to us. She walked right past us as she took menus all the way across the restaurant back to her station. Then she came all the way back to get a clarification on the order at the table next to us. Then she walked by us again, all the way back to her station. Then she took menus and water to another table that came in five minutes after we did. Then we left. Looked like one waitress for a large crowd. Went to Tonys Diner and was served quickly.
Excellent Broasted Chicken! My husband had the 4 piece mixed white & dark meat served with baked potato, carrots, roll & salad😃. Hes hard man to please when it comes to his Chicken! Said Excellent 👍I ordered the Broasted Chicken Wing dinner. 6 good sized wings served with baked potato, green beans, roll and salad. Love wings and these were perfect. Coating on chicken just right crispy, golden and delicious. These dinners are served at 4:00 PM.Excellent menu... Going back👍😃😃Our waitress was also excellent... Kudos to Park View Inn ‼️
Our breakfast was delicious! I ordered the chorizo hash & my hubby had the breakfast horseshoe.Unfortunately, our server/bartender refused to follow state mandates and wore her mask hanging from the side of one ear for our entire service. We sadly watched many enterEd without masks and were not reminded. The purpose of wearing masks is to protect others; keeping places bars and restaurants safely open during the pandemic. It’s infuriating to watch this happen, as a paying customer trying to do the right thing: supporting local businesses during these hard times.Wearing a mask is not political, it’s the law. I would hope they re-consider following the rules more strictly, especially when their livelihood depends on it.
One of two places in town for chicken. On the way out to the door one evening I asked someone about the chicken. His response was none better in town. Finally had the opportunity to try it, he was not wrong. Now to find the appetite to tackle the pizza. It will happen.
Awesome place to eat on the west side of town. FINALLY!!! You have to try the broaster chicken, better than anything else in town! The handmade tenderloin sandwich is great as well - word of advise, they can run out of tenderloins, they only make a certain amount each day - FRESH, BY HAND. Lots of beer and liquor, tons of unique drinks and shots. The brand new building looks amazing! Staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. Cant find a place like this anyehere else in McLean county. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
My Mom and I decided to try Park View Inn on July 4th, we pulled into the driveway, I opened the door and was immediately confronted by a man, demanding to know why we had pulled into the parking lot. I hadnt even put my foot on the ground. Stunned I didnt immediately answer he said we couldnt be there, I asked if there was a private party to which he said no. I asked if he is the owner and he said YES. Wow, what a greeting from the owner. I asked if he allowed people to eat and drink in his restaurant to which he said yes and instantly he became less combative. I told him that was our intention. We went in however they were not serving food and my enthusiasm to try his new place was completely gone! I gave one star as the waitress inside was so gracious and helpful. Perhaps SIR you should follow your employees example about customer service and especially greeting.
Whole Catfish was fantastic!! Would have given at least 4 stars for that, vegetables on the other hand, prison food. Come on folks it is not that difficult to do fresh mashed potatoes, you didnt even by a decent box brand, the gravy was bad, but geesh the potatoes tasted like the stuff they plopped down on our trays in grade school and the green beans, while they did have bacon (thumbs up), tasted like you just took them out of the discount number 10 cans at the state pen. Why ruin such good fish with such poor sides, they dont even cost all that much to do right, that is the cheapest part, do not get it. On a $25 meal you can spend the $1.00 on a fresh potato and at least a half cup of fresh green beans, I would give you four stars in stead of being tempted to give you 2.
Food was soggy menu was overpriced order completely wrong when they were asked to fix or complete the order they didnt want to do it I didnt want to remake the food they opted to give us two pieces of bacon and a order of onion rings and place of what we should have had to begin with wouldnt send my worst enemy there
I had the opportunity to finally try out this NEW restaurant and let me just say without a doubt lunch was filling and delicious the service was perfect not hovering but close enough for us to get what we needed I believe our waitress was named sandy she knew how to do her job and seemed to enjoy It as well wonderful experience I have not yet tried their breakfast but it’s on my todo list!
So just saying if the hamburger is is fresh and patties out tell me why it was so dry had to drink 3/4 of a beer to get they less than a half of a burger, cheese sauce tasted like water, the service was great come see dawn see was great love her but management took nothing off bill... sorry to say but after spending 25.00$ McDonalds food was better
The Parkview Inn is still allowing dine in during a pandemic. Their customer base is a lot of elderly people. Is it just me or is killing off your customers a bad business model? Irresponsible and ignorant. Will never be coming back here and will tell everyone to stay far away.
If i could give this place no stars I would they wouldn’t even acknowledge my existence wouldn’t say hello they wouldn’t seat me they wouldn’t take my order they acted like i wasn’t even there after seating myself at the bar same thing so after about 20-25 mins or so I just left idk if it had anything to do with the shade of my skin or the fact I was with an ex employee of theirs (also black) but I definitely wouldn’t spend a dollar with them we ended up going to pop up chicken which is great btw....

2021-10-06I havent been here for years and some friends suggested it for out weekly dinner, and it was very good. I had an old school dish, hot beef, and it was excellent. The onion rings might be my fav in town anywhere. Im happy to have rediscovered Parkview Inn.

2022-01-15Although the restaurant itself is very cute, the food is not great at all. If you like instant mashed potatoes that taste like the ones you get from KFC then this may be the place for you. I did have some decent chicken fried steak but was so disappointed that I could not dip it into the potatoes because they were disgusting. I really really wanted to like this place because the locals give it good reviews but I don’t know that I’ll ever step foot in there again.

2022-04-09Nice family oriented restaurant/pub. I hit the popular Friday night fish fry… walleye. Meat was a little thin, but tasted very good. Very good service. I’ll be back!

2022-02-13Im glad this establishment was rebuilt after being destroyed by a fair. The atmosphere is wonderful. I stopped in for a drink. First time there. I ended up being there for two hours! I thoroughly enjoyed the company I met. This will be a usual hangout for me!

2021-05-12For an appetizer, I shared onion rings, which were very good. Then, I had a very thick and tasty pork tenderloin sandwich for lunch. The restaurant is very nice, and we had a good waitress who handled a group of ten very well.

2022-05-15Im reviewing this restaurant because I want people to know how good the pizza is. The pizza is probably my second favorite in town, Tobins being first. Thinnish crust and they have my favorite topping, green olives.
