Ive been an employee with Paradise Pet for 12 years. For 2 years I worked in back as a kennel tech. For the Last 10 years Ive been working at the front desk. Ive learned a lot about pet behavior from my experience. My dog Luke loves to play with the senior dogs and swimming in the pool. I also adopted a geriatric dog from Paradise Pet years ago. I love so many of the dogs that come for daycare I could list the names forever.
Our family has used Paradise for years and it is the only place we trust with our dogs. Dogs will be dogs, and of course throughout years we have had a few incidents. All of these issues have been handled by the staff promptly. They are closely partnered with a vet clinic in town and make sure that any injuries/illness are handled as soon as possible. The owner can be a little nutty, but from my experience, most passionate people are and she is definitely passionate about dogs.
Archie does great at daycare here. The staff is always more than helpful and super friendly. They give great baths and brushes when Archie goes to daycare. Our only complaint is with the chemicals that are being used to clean the facility outside. Our dog got a chemical burns on his all four paw pads from the cleaning supplies and being on the rocks/gravel outside. When we called they were more than helpful to make sure he wasn’t on the rocks. We have a pup with really sensitive skin, so that is a bummer. He has also gotten kennel cough twice after getting vaccinated within a year. I just would recommend getting your dog the booster if going to daycare, as this is normal just like a child going to school or daycare.
I worked here in the past and still bring my pets to Paradise. One of my dogs has sensitive paws, if he is left on the rocks outside for too long he will lick his paws raw, but Paradise makes sure that doesnt happen and its not an issue.I have never seen anyone abuse any of the pets there. Kathy would not tolerate abuse and if anyone is suspected of mistreatment the cameras are reviewed and they are dealt with quickly.Kathy may not be perfect but her clients pets, her adoption pets, and her own pets are her top priority.
Do not board your dog at Paradise Pet! The first time we took our dog there for the weekend he was fine. We took him a second time and he came home with an eye infection that had to be treated by the vet. We thought it was just a fluke, so we took him a third time, which I deeply regret. He came home with an eye infection, an ear infection, and a horrible respiratory infection. He was up to date on all his shots. The poor thing was SO sick and we ended up paying hundreds of dollars in vet bills.
Paradise Pets is the BEST place to take your furry family, whether you are going to work for the day, or an extended vacation. They have qualified staff who love animals and they provide a safe, sanitary environment for your pet. Grooming services are also available. Great place!!!
I have a good friend who had to be hospitalized for a long time. I took his two dogs to Paradise Pet to see if they could accommodate them for a long stay. They were so kind and sympathetic and took beautiful care of the dogs for his entire hospital stay and recovery at home. I was so happy that I could help ease his mind about his babies so he could focus on his own recovery. Everyone there was so helpful and supportive and the dogs had a great time. Thank you for your top notch care and concern! I am recommending Paradise Pet to everyone I know.
Paradise Pets is an excellent pet care facility providing high quality pet care with a caring touch. The breadth of services offered is extensive … all performed very thoroughly and compassionately. I can honestly say Paradise Pets is the best boarding and daycare facility I have ever been associated with both as a pet owner and as a veterinarian.
Great, friendly staff. We take out American Staffordshire Terrier to daycare there 2 times a week and he loves it! The staff knows George by name and they are always excited for him to arrive. They offer grooming services as well. We just tell them what we need done and when we will pick him up, and they take care of the rest. 10/10 would recommend.
I worked at Paradise Pet in between jobs. I came from a job with a horrible work environment and Paradise Pet was everything I needed to lift my spirits! All of the staff, including the owners Kathy and Clay were SO welcoming and friendly towards me. I felt right at home. I have an 11 month lab/pit and I am very protective of her. I don’t normally trust any place to board or watch my dog but I 110% trust Paradise Pet with my baby. After working there I saw how passionate and caring every single staff member was. It was incredible how much effort and care was put into each individual animal. As an animal lover myself, my heart was so full knowing that there are people out there that care as much about animals as I do. Even after leaving Paradise Pet for a dream job of mine, I continue to bring my dog for daycare when I can! She absolutely loves it and I don’t stress about it at all because I know she is in such great care. I could seriously go on for hours about how wonderful the staff at Paradise Pet is, just ask anyone that knows me, I always talk it up so much! I miss everyone there and all of the dogs! Best job I have ever had.
I boarded my dogs here for a long weekend. When I believed there was a problem with my dogs, I tried 5 times to reach Paradise, leaving messages each time. They did not call me back until a day later. They do not have anyone working the front desk over the weekend, which was NOT explained to me prior to boarding them. Although it is understandable why they would not have a receptionist over the weekend, they do not check messages regularly or address concerns of their customers in a prompt manner. When I attempted to explain why I was upset, the owner told me that it has always been this way and she has never had a problem before. My concerns were dismissed as unrealistic. I cannot be the only person ever calling to check on their boarded dogs, and since I am paying for a service, I expect the courtesy of a call back when I believe there is a problem. I will say that my dogs seemed well cared for, but I will not be returning due to the owners lack of communication with customers, as well as the owners inability to understand why I was upset or acknowledge my concerns.
The facility is always clean and sanitary. If a dog has an accident in the lobby, someone is cleaning it up immediately. The staff truly cares about each dog and provides a safe, comfortable environment for them to play with others their same size and age range. I am super over protective and wouldn’t consider bringing mine here if I didn’t totally trust them. We’ve been using Paradise for 5 years for both day care (multiple times per week) and occasional boarding. Both of ours love their day care days, and our Aussie especially loves pool days during the summer months. The staff has been wonderful, even in high maintenance situations. At one point, our pittie was on a lot of medications for allergies, and they made sure she had all her medicines and food in her slow feeder bowl when she boarded. Additionally, our Aussie is fearful natured and doesn’t like strangers in his “home away from home.” The staff are very understanding of his special social needs and make sure new staff members are aware that it takes him a week or so to come around to new folks. As a parent, it warms my heart that he has a place he can relax and have fun at, with people who are ok letting him be himself, quirks and all. He has a wider social network of dogs and people because of Paradise. Paradise has been a huge blessing to us!
Brought both my huskies here for 9 days, paid for everything upfront, breakfast which included eggs and bacon, full wash and de-shed (the day I was gonna pick them up {they knew times and dates}).When I came to pick them up there was an up charge of $80 and my dogs were given a wash last minute (you could smell the shampoo), given a poor de shed (I had to de shed them my self, car was filled with flying hair).Someone shine light as to how you can pay up front and still get a poor service with an $80 upcharge?!?. Not to mention I have to take my girls to the vet because their paws are bright red...I loved bringing my girls here for a day while every so often as I cleaned the house and ran chores, now I think employees dont give the necessary care and they are just working through their shift.
I love taking our dog Toby to Paradise Pets. Every staff member is so welcoming and caring. They always know every pet by name. It is always clean and Toby is always so happy to see them. I live 30 minutes out of town but it is worth every mile and every penny to see how happy and loved my dog is when I pick him upfrom daycare. He sleeps all the way home. The best part of my day is waiting and watching all of the different dogs come out when their parents come to pick them up. They are all so happy!! Would definitely recommend Paradise Pets to anyone!!
We have been taking our dogs to Paradise pets for about 8 years now. Our dogs love it there! We cannot say enough good things! They have gone for both day care and boarding. The first day we got report cards to say how they did. Our dogs are more than just animals to us, and Paradise goes above and beyond to make them feel welcomed. When my husband or I dropped our pups off, they are greeted by name, and when they are boarded, we can breathe a sigh of relief that they are taken care off. They even have extra perks that our dogs love such as breakfast on the weekends. Our dogs also get groomed there, which is so convenient for us. My favorite part is that the dogs have such a great time that they are exhausted from socializing with their friends all day that they sleep the next day from pure exhaustion. I wouldnt take my pups anywhere else, and the money is so worth the experience for the dogs as well as the experience for me as the consumer thanks to the people, environment, and more.
We have been bringing both of our dogs here every week since they were 11 weeks old and they love it! The facility is very clean! The staff is Amazing, so kind, friendly, and you can tell they love animals! They also have a good variety of treats, food, pet accessories, and the cutest pet photo frames! All the services they offer are great! We Love Paradise Pets!
This is a great place for doggy daycare, pet grooming, and boarding. Kathy, (The Owner) loves animals more then anyone Ive ever met. The carrying and attention she expects from her employees and the attention she gives her furry guest is paramount. This tells me, she really enjoys what she does here. Paxton also loves his friend and family at Paradise Pets!
I fully trust Paradise Pets with my fur baby!! The staff knows each and every family, and all dogs by name. My dog goes to day care often, each morning he is waiting by the backdoor (tail wagging) to get in the car because he knows he is going to daycare. We have used their boarding services for when we went on vacation as well, the owner offer a home cooked breakfast and asked if my dog had any allergies. I would highly recommend using Paradise Pets, your dog will be tired from all play time, and will enjoy all love and attention they get.
If I could give zero stars I would. My pet went in with a bandaged tail due to a minor cut. Came home after being in their” care” and had to have 5 inches of his tail amputated due to gangrene. Owner blamed me, refused to take any responsibility, and was rude and disrespectful. Clearly no concern for the animals or her clients. I will never take my pet there again, and hope others think before they do.
My three love this place. They already know when I take that first turn onto Barnes where we are going and their faces light up. Yes their gravel does bother their paws a bit but I took mine there all summer and only had the issue once. I find that during the hotter days I just take them once every two weeks or once a week but on opposite ends of the week and I don’t have an issue. The only time I had an issue they went twice in a week at the end of the week then again at the beginning of the next during the hottest month. Other than that one time I haven’t had that problem. A lot of reviews say artificial turf. It gets way too hot and too humid for it. It would have to be sprayed often to prevent bacteria or fungi to grow especially after periods of heavy rain. Also artificial turf can get as hot as asphalt so it would defeat the purpose of installing that vs pea gravel. Real grass forget it! With so many dogs running and playing, it would just destroy the grass to where there would only be mud left. The upkeep of that would be ridiculous! They’d be forced to increase their prices. Another thing I love is that I don’t have to give them a heads up when I want to drop off them off. Our previous daycare I had to let them know 24 hours they were coming. If they could be held in the same room there was a discount if not it was $100 for the day. I also like how good they are about making sure they’re up to date. It’s not their job to babysit us about when we need to get the shots updated but they do. I’m usually not forgetful but it’s hard to keep track especially with a new vet. Their prices are super reasonable. Yes they don’t offer a discount package but I’ve done the math compared to other places that do the ones I’m familiar with. Their prices come out to be the same if you calculate a discount for an additional dog or a discount for a week with discount vs their already affordable daycare price. In my opinion any time you walk with your dog out of the house and drop off anywhere or take to the park there’s a risk. Just like with your kid and taking them to little human daycare.
First time bringing my dogs in for a groom, and instead of trimming them according to their breed they are almost fully shaved. My Great Pyrenees and Bernese Mt Dog both look absolutely ridiculous. Why would you groom a giant breed with an undercoat. Wil not ever be going back
We’ve been taking our now old man dog to Paradise Pets for almost 15 years. We’ve had and enjoyed a great experience. Whether it be an overnight or entire week stay , Snoop has always been well taken care of. The staff has always known our name, whose dog he is. They have fed and taken care of him per request every time. We highly recommend this hotel and day spot for your four legged friends !!!
We love Paradise Pets. The staff is so caring and our dog runs to see them in the mornings when we arrive. I have complete trust and confidence in the care our dog receives. She is VERY active and always comes home happy and tired from playing all day. I have and will continue to recommend them.
My dog Kojak LOVES playing with his friends at daycare! He can’t wait to go and is wore out at the end of the day. He is an active 2.5 yr old lab and they treat him like one their own making him feel welcome and comfortable. Another perk is having a grooming service on site that offers oatmeal and tea tree baths for sensitive skin. Love this place!
I started my young pitbull mix at paradise almost a year ago and I have loved every minute of my experience. The staff are all very friendly and are willing to answer very question. I was scared how my little girl would do at daycare, but she does great and always is excited when we make the turn to paradise! Thank you for easing my mind while leaving her in your care all day! She always come home happy and very tired :)
Our golden retriever, Walter, absolutely loves Paradise Pets. Weve used them for day care, boarding, and grooming and have had A+ service all around. The staff takes the time to know you. (or at least your dog) Coming from an owner thats absolutely crazy about his pet, I feel more comfortable with Walter at Paradise Pets than with anyone else.Walter loves when we start the day off with, Wanna go to daycare?!
AMAZING! I dont know where to begin... As a parent of a difficult pup to groom in the past, I was feeling defeated and anxious about what my grooming options would be in the future. Lisa, from Paradise Pet came highly recommend and surpassed my expectations. She took the time and patience needed to make sure that Murphy had a great experience, for the first time, in his life. As a parent I am over the moon and absolutely thrilled that we have found a new home for Murphy to be groomed. Thank You for treating Murphy like your own.In addition to the positive grooming experience, I was thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness of the facility, the checkin process, and the professionalism of the staff. Amazing service and facility at a reasonable price is not always easy to find. THANK YOU EVERYONE for putting our four legged family members first and providing top notch service along the way!
Puppy might of loved this place for daycare, but I do not recommend taking your dog to board here. They don’t seem to be strict on shot records. My pup will never be going back. She got kennel cough both times she was boarded here. I picked her up this last time and she was lethargic and coughing so hard that it was making her throw up. I understand that it’s like sending your kid to school and them getting the flu, but the school calls the parents to have their kid picked up if they are sick. I never got a call once, she was sick immediately when I picked her up, and there is so doubt in my mind that her sickness was not noticed due to limited supervision. Thank God that she wasn’t boarded any longer! She also has gotten hot spots from dog bites and scratches from other dogs several times
I started taking my pup Chewie to Paradise Pets 5 years ago. They always greet him by name and when we are turning down the street he starts crying with excitement. Every day he races into the building and never looks back. The employees are fantastic and the facility is amazing. Separate areas for small (toy sized) dogs and big dogs and nice outdoor areas. Couldn’t imagine leaving my boy with anyone else when I’m at work.
My dog loves Paradise pets. We do doggy daycare, all of his grooming, and boarding at Paradise. The facility is extremely clean every time I walk in, and the staff are friendly and know every dog by name. I will always use Paradise for my golden doodle’s care and needs!
I took my 1 year old Aussie to Paradise for an entire day of daycare. He came home with red raw hot swollen paws. I called and was told he ran on pea gravel all day. Also told this happens to pups who still have soft tender paw pads. If you know this happens why would you let a pup do this! I have tried all sorts of home care and now taking him to the vet because he is in pain and cannot walk! I will be expecting a reimbursement from the owner since the staff knows this is something that can happen to pups. After reading the reviews it does indeed happen frequently. I would NEVER take my dog to a place like this! I am appalled this is animal cruelty at its finest. You will hear from me today owner of Paradise Pets and you will reimburse me for the damage you allowed to happen to my dog!Update: I had to drop my pup off at vet this morning... I was told Paradise Pets has a horrible reputation and is a breeding ground for infection and injuries to dogs. Due to the fact they run so many dogs through there. Still waiting to find out what is wrong with my pup. Owner of Paradise Pets you will reimburse me for my vet bill! This has damaged paw issue has happened to several dogs just by reading your reviews and you do nothing to stop it! If you know a puppy cannot run around in pea gravel all day why do you continue to allow this to happen?
We rescued our dog Daisy and then immediately found out afterwards that she has extreme separation anxiety as well as severe hip dysplasia. We defined wanted to honor our commitment to her, but knew that we were going to have to have help. Taking her to Paradise Pets has been the best thing for her (and us)!! She really loves it there! It’s very clean and the friendly staff run drop offs and pick ups like a well oiled machine! I highly recommend them!
Very professional caring people. Love this place.Kathy has been is rescue 17 years and will help local rescues any time they need. Wonderful place.Just found out that a disgruntled employee has asked his friends to post poor reviews. What a scumbag. Dont believe them.
Boarded my dog here twice. They really care about the animals and my dog seemed to like it there. Only 4 starts though because the second time my dog came back with the start of infection in both his eyes, and he was fine before hand; could be coincidental, but just makes me wonder.
We’ve been taking our golden doodle Kona to Paradise Pets for over a year and a half and utilize all amenities they offer; day care, boarding and grooming. The staff working the drop off and pick up are extremely professional and courteous. We love the hours, ease and flexibility that Paradise Pets provides.
We used the doggie day care service and love it!*Edit* Long but worth the read in my opinion. We used to love this doggie daycare service. My husband and I treat our dog like our child. She goes everywhere we go, sleeps in our bed, eats the highest quality food, you get the point. Our first day of dog daycare she was left outside for the entirety of the day. I understand most dogs can probably fair with these elements. However, the outdoor area is pea gravel, something our dog had never been on, especially for an extended period of time. When I brought her home her paws were so damaged she didnt eat, drink, or get up for 2 days. We finally took her to the vet where she had to have both pain medication and medication for her torn paw pads. Her paws were so inflamed they took almost 2 weeks to completely heal.I understood when this happened. She was the exception to the rule. If someone would have checked her paws they would have seen that they were shredded long before they got to the point they were at when I picked her up. But again, I understand, mistakes happen! The next time I dropped her off I explained what happened last time. Again I expressed I was not angry, I understood. They told me that I could just request inside only time for her. A great solution! Each time I dropped her off after this I reminded those who took her no rocks please!Approximately the third time back after the paw fiasco I picked her up, got her in the car, and when we got home she could barely walk. Her paws were raw and inflamed, she was in pain. I called to verify, and sure enough they confirmed she was left outside for the day.In my opinion this should have been 100% avoidable. I paid almost 20/day for her to be cared for by someone else. If they couldnt check her paws or follow my request to keep her indoors, how can I trust them to watch her overnight? Administer medications? I wont be back.
Grooming experiences have always been great, but I ended up switching to a new day care. My dog is a rescue dog with seperation anxiety, so leaving him at home isnt an option. I brought him daily to Paradise, and at first things were great! All of a sudden one day he was terrified to go inside, shaking in the car, and literally had to be drug inside. He would constantly bark at other dogs, and even other people. I dont suspect any foul play, I just think they have more dogs/customers than he is comfortable with. Ive heard from other customers of large play groups resulting in injury or behavioral changes to their pet, so I switched to a smaller doggy day care. I loved Paradise, but just for more social or confident dogs.
We love Paradise Pets! Speaking for my dog, Mellie, and my family. They have a great staff that are always willing to help and are very kind and compassionate! Would recommend to anyone that lives in the Bloomington area looking for a place for doggie daycare or boarding options. Thank you guys for your excellent service!
Our Pupper Luke absolutely loves it at Paradise Pet Hotel and Day Spa. He cant jump out of the car fast enough when we get there. All I want to do when we get home is play with him, and all he wants to do is sleep because he is so worn out. The workers there are awesome and very friendly. I highly recommend this business!
Worked there for a day and quit due to everything i saw. this was back in june but i’m posting now due to another employee who is a friend and also no longer works there who just told me a bunch of stuff. and i’m telling you now, do not ever bring your dogs here. like ever.
Paradise pets is the favorite hangout of Gordon and his 4 pawed buddies because it caters to his very special needs. You see, Gordon is a 120lb Newfoundland - Black Lab mix and his need is for somewhere to run and play and get chased and just have an all-around good time. We found Paradise Pets about a year ago - it was recommended to us by some friends. We drop Gordon off for doggie day care a couple times a week before we go to work, and then pick him up again after work. In the summer the dogs spend a lot of time outside, with plenty of obstacles to run around and water to splash around in. During the winter they dont go out as much, but Gordon still comes home exhausted. They have separate play areas for big and small dogs, everyone gets an afternoon snack (usually something like grilled hot-dogs). The staff is always friendly, even early in the morning or when I have been running late to pick Gordon up. They know every dog by name, and the animals all seem to respond well them. Oh, and I almost forgot - they have on-site grooming services too. Fur washed and trimmed (or shaved in the summer for Gordon), nails and teeth done about every other month for us. Its nice to have a big dog that isnt a smelly big dog. Last, but not least - they do boarding for the dogs. Weve just never needed that for Gordon yet.
Amora and Niko love Paradise! I always feel comfortable dropping off knowing they will be in good hands while there. Whether dogs are very active (Amora) or extremely lazy (Niko) Paradise always provides a safe place for our pups to play all day. Thank you to all of the staff at Paradise for providing us with a great “school” for our “children.”
The staff care deeply of the dogs and their well being. They take special care to make sure your dog is eating and that no dog is overheating during the summer. The work they do rescuing dogs is great also. The front staff knows, Id say, about 98% of the dogs that come in, if not 99%.
This is our go-to place for pet boarding. The staff is wonderful, and our dog usually pogos on two legs as she pushes with all her might to get in quicker....she loves this place. My only wish is that they would allow us to see the dogs remotely via app or online streaming like some boarding services in the Chicagoland area. Even without the ability to stream, we see how excited she is whenever we come to drop her off, so we know she is being well taken care of!
I have 2 dogs, Jesse & Chaos. This is the first boarding place I have used, since I moved to the area a little over a year ago. My boy Chaos, was recently diagnosed with a very rare liver disease & underwent extensive emergency suregery, 2 weeks before my scheduled out of state vacation. Needless to say, I was nervous about leaving my dog for over a week, with all this going on at once. (Our vet cleared Chaos for boarding & said he was healed up & ready to play). The staff was extremely supportive of the care Chaos needed & I received good communication, regarding how my boys did, while I was away. The staff also encouraged me to call & check on the boys & reassured me they would call the vet, if Chaos became sick. It was a huge relief knowing my boys were well cared for over Thanksgiving. Thank you for all you do for the pets in the community!
***UPDATE*** we picked up our dog and felt that he felt off right away. We thought maybe it was just him coming down from all the excitement of being around other dogs. He is a house pet, and rarely socializes with other humans or dogs. But by the time we got home to Clinton, he started vomiting. Barely any of his food had been eaten and we were gone an entire week. Now it has been 2 days home and he will be going to the vet tomorrow because he wont eat and is throwing up still. He has goopy eyes and extremely horrible smelly breath! He had NONE of these symptoms when we dropped him off. Im afraid that something happened and I wasnt told about it. I received messages throughout our vacation saying he was eating fine and playing with other dogs. But then when I picked him up they said he wasnt eating fine. Im NOT AT ALL bashing this place. Overall I think its a fine place. My gut is telling me that I havent been told everything. Im just not sure now and anxious to see what the vet says. Hoping its nothing, but he has never behaved this skiddish before and the puking worries me 🤔🙁 7/4/18--------------------------The staff is amazing! While I was on vacation, they put up with my daily calls and requests for pics via text. They took extra time out of their busy schedule just to reassure me that my fur baby was doing good. As a person that struggles with high anxiety, I truly appreciated it. Thank you!!
At first, my wife and I loved letting our dog come to Paradise Pets to stay and play. However, everything changed after our most recent visit. A day after allowing our dog to play in their new building, his paws were raw and began bleeding. After taking him to a well-respected vet, it was discovered the cause was chemical burns. We tried reasoning with the owner, and stated we had talked with a few other dog-owners who had experienced the same issue there. The owner responded by cursing, yelling, and denying everything that was said. I would NOT recommend taking your pet to this place. Hopefully in the future they will pay closer attention to the welfare of dogs staying with them AND how management treats their customers.
My Basset Hound Sadie is 11 years old, and has been visiting kennels from Montana to Connecticut to Florida. This is far and away the best facility I have ever found. For day care, the dogs get to wander the place freely, no cooping up in kennels or runs, and if the weather is good they leave the door open to the fenced yard so the dogs can go out and come in whenever they please. Every single person, from the receptionist/cashier to the caretakers, has been wonderful. Sadie has had problems in the past interacting with people and with other dogs, but the folks at Paradise tell me she is always the perfect lady, and believe it or not, she has, at her advanced age, become much more sociable and less aggressive since shes been staying at Paradise. Im only in the Bloomington area temporarily, but when I leave, I wish I could take this place with me!
I was very excited to take my energetic puppy to this beautiful facility. It was a great place for her to socialize and get her energy out while I was at work. Unfortunately the men supervising in the back were using scare tactics to control the dogs. They told me that my medium sized dog climbed the short fence to be on the large sized dog side. It makes me so sad to say this but my well rounded puppy is now skittish to loud noises and afraid of men with features that match the men that worked in the back. Friends come over and she is absolutely terrified if any of them look similar. It breaks my heart to think of how they scared her to get her to listen. Yelling and slamming trash can lids together are just a few of the methods. If I had known this I would have never put my puppy through this and still have a well rounded dog. We are now doing our best to desensitize her to men with these features. This place needs to think twice about who they are hiring.
This is Flynn after a fun filled day at Paradise. He loves going so much that every morning he waits patiently at the top of the stairs for us to get him harnessed. Staff is great, friendly and remember the pets and their owners. Thank you so much for taking care of Flynn!
I love taking my pets to paradise pets for boarding! I never have to worry about them when I am out of town.. I have a dog with special needs and I know he is good hands when I leave him there. I would highly recommended Paradise pets! I wouldnt take my pets anywhere else!
I’ve taken my dogs here since November when we first moved to Bloomington. My dogs absolutely love it. They already know the way there and get so excited when I turn on Towanda/Barnes Rd 🤣 🤣 They just about jump out the window. When I pick them they’re tired and don’t even want to move.
Staff is very friendly, always remember us and our dogs! Our dogs love it there. Provide several great services including dog bath, haircut, and hygiene care. Facilities are great-abundance of space and activities for the dogs to do. Seems some things are priced individually, i.e. pool time, etc.
The experience here was terrible. We dropped off our dog and he stayed two nights. He was perfectly healthy going into it, and he was very sick when we picked him up. He had sores on both of his rear paws, stuff oozing out of his eyes, a high fever, and was very dirty. We took him to the vet the day after picking him up because he seemed to act extremely sick, and the vet verified the high fever, eye issue, paws, and how dirty he was. The vet prescribed him an eye cream, sore cream for his paws, and an antibiotic for his fever. He has been boarded a number of times before this and never had issues like this. I can understand the hygiene issue as he was playing outside and with other dogs. The foot sores, again, I suppose I can understand as he was playing outside, but he also gets taken on walks and runs every single day and doesnt develop sores. As far as the eyes and fever go, what explains that? Nothing. That says that Paradise Pets is dirty and unhygienic which I am assuming is how he got an eye infection with a fever. The only thing they offered as an apology was a free bath the next time he goes. Im sure they only offered that knowing were disgusted with their facility and that he wont be back. Rest assured, we will never take him there again, and I will be certain to let anyone that asks know how terrible it is.
I have been bringing my English Springer Spaniel here for a year and a half. He loves the place, as do I. Given my work schedule, its been a godsend. Hes even participated in some animal psychology studies there through Illinois Wesleyan University, which has made for some extremely entertaining photos of him learning to use a touchscreen! I will be moving soon and one of my biggest concerns is finding day care of this quality. Ignore the trolls; you can trust these people with your surrogate child.
DO NOT use this boarding facility!!Customer service is terrible, owner is rude and does not respect her clients. Just look at her response to her reviewer below! We had a complaint about our pets care - he came home after a 2 day stay with a 6 inch circle of hair missing off his back side which was red and painful. Staff did not mention the injury upon pick up, they only said he had no problems eating. Owners response was, how do I know this didnt happen after he got home. Owner stated my complaint was random rantings and I should have notified her with a legitimate complaint by phone. This is the second time we have left a pet in her care that has needed medical care after their stay. DO NOT trust them to board your pet!
This is a terrible place. I brought my puppy in for boarding for a few days. I brought my own food. I made a point to tell them she is allergic to fish, and she had to eat our food. I picked her up, and they did NOT feed her my food for the majority of the days. They feed her their food which contained Salmon. I said to them that she will get very sick because of this! They really did not seem to care. They did not offer to refund any money or do anything. I had to tell them that I didn’t think it was fair for me to have to pay $120 for service I didn’t get. She finally gave me a refund of $60. The woman in charge was clearly not happy. She didn’t seem to care at all about my dog’s well-being. My puppy was sick for a week, and I had a $250 vet bill.
Paradise Pet has been nothing but wonderful to my families pets. They have always been nothing but professional and caring whenever any of my families dogs have been placed in their care. I have gotten to know much of the staff and have nothing but positive comments about them as people and caretakers of animals.
SO DISAPPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE on TUESDAY the 2nd of MARCH. I took my dog for his grooming appointment, which was supposed to be; a wash, brush out, nails clip, and dryer. Which is usually a 2 or 3 hour process. TOTAL ($62) I brought him at 4 pm and was told to pick him up at 5:30When I picked him up he was still wet and probably hadnt been brushed. LIKE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN......So the result of this grooming...SEE THE VIDEO.....I Will Find Another Grooming Team.
I want to chime in about my experience with Kathy and the Paradise Pet Hotel team. Regarding those nasty comments from that Mr. McCaw..... Ive been taking my purebred Golden Retriever to Paradise for almost 10 yrs. He was just a puppy when we started & was one of the first clients that walked in the doors when Kathy opened. Kathy has maintained the highest level of professionalism Ive ever encountered when it comes to public service. I take offense to someone spouting off whenever these good people at Paradise have only one thing in mind-----TAKING THE BEST CARE POSSIBLE OF YOUR PET!!!10 years is a long time to be a client anywhere,,,anymore. You cant even keep your doctor for that long. That in and of itself can tell anybody that Paradise Pet is a solid, professional company. I dont see how anyone could come away with that bad of an experience as to want to try to soil her name/business in this public forum. It is also extremely unfair to try to disparage someones place of business when youve never even fully toured the facility. Kathy and her whole staff have always gone way above & beyond what has been needed for me with the care of my dog. I feel bad for the poor pet of Mr. McCaws if it is so obvious in need of medical attention. Kathy is commended by me for trying to help. No good deed goes unpunished!!!

2022-04-15I took my 2 yr old dog here for his first time to enjoy a few hours of dog day care. The place is very nice. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog there as I saw plenty of staff supervising the dogs. And, my dog came home exhausted! We will be making this a weekly outing.

2021-02-15I take my Doberman puppy here for daycare 2-3 times a week and he LOVES it. He is worn out when he comes home and seems to keep himself out of trouble on those days. We recently boarded him for a week while on vacation and he seemed to have a good time. We didnt have any trouble with him when we got home either (you know how dogs can misbehave if they are mad that you left). The staff are always nice and know him by name when he comes in.

2021-08-31We have had a lovely experience at Paradise Pet Hotel and Daycare. My dogs come home happy and tired from daycare and we have also tried boarding. I can trust that they are well cared for and they even gave me a video your before I started bringing them in. It really gave me peace of mind. The facility is clean, the staff is professional, and the price is right. I received a recommendation from a coworker and I am now passing that recommendation to others. Thank you Paradise Pets for watching our two pups.

2021-08-22I started bringing my dogs to Paradise Pets after adopting from them. I had taken them there for many years when I lost my job. I worked there for 2 years, one year as a supervisor. The only reason I left was to relocate closer to my family, otherwise I would still be there. I loved my job! The facility is clean, the staff is very professional. I never worried about my dogs when they were there, as a client or staff member. As part of the staff, we care for every dog that comes in. The staff bonds with the dogs in their care. Paradise Pets staff, management and owners thank you for always taking the best care of my boys.

2021-08-28Wonderful place !! I am a former kennel owner and retired Vet tech. I highly recommend Paradise. they have a large staff to care for the dogs . This is very important. She has plenty of kennels All the amenities any pet could want. . They offer the dogs lots of activities . They even have pool time . I have been there several times it is very clean both front and back . The dogs I saw all seemed happy and I did not see any nervous or stressed dogs. These are things as a professional I look at . I let the dogs do the talking . Kathy and her staff do a great job.

2021-08-22Paradise Pets is the absolute best kennel in Central Illinois. The owner and staff are totally devoted to insuring the safety and welfare of any pet in their care. The facility is beautiful and always clean. They have video cameras inside and out where anyone can view their dog at anytime at the front desk without an appointment. Everything is monitored at all times. Staff is well trained and hardworking.

2021-08-23I have been taking my labs to Paradise Pets since they opened. My experience which may be a bit unique due to my job has been nothing but positive. 4 of my girls over the years have been boarded for weeks and several times a month at a time. The Team at Paradise Pets became an extension of my home. All my experiences since I have been taking my girls have been positive from grooming, daycare to my extended boarding.I highly recommend all services.

2021-08-20Kathy and her crew are some of the most caring and compassionate group of people I know. Their love for all animals shows thru there words and actions. I have adopted a dog with them and they made sure she was looking her best and all ready for me. They follow up with how the transition is going and encouraged me to keep in touch as they truly CARE about each animal they take of or foster for adoption. I can not stress enough how nice it is to be around a bunch of caring people. They truly energize your day when you walk in. Thank you for Sydney. I love her.
