Osaka in other cities:
Low cost, but high value. Huge selection at the buffet. Mostly lower cost sushi selections (would have liked some spicy tuna), but it was fresh and tasty. Would give four stars, but the bathrooms were terrible. In the food selection and quality, the entire group I was with were very satisfied.
I have been craving a good buffet with a fresh, Hibachi style grill for months.I finally had the opportunity as I drove home last night. Even went a bit out of the way on my 1.5 hour drive. This location did not disappoint. From entering to being seated, the staff was quick and courteous. Very nice.Washed up in the bathroom before hitting the buffet. Very clean.Looked at the selection of dishes and was baffled. So many options, only one stomach. As I was there for dinner, the Salmon caught my eye first. Did not try it for it looked like it might have been passed up by other patrons for awhile because of a little piece of white skin was clinging on to its pink flesh. I would not mind a bit of Omega-3… (skin is the best part) but knowing the general population, they probably left this savory filet to die a heat death to the warming lamps. ( Sigh )Right next door was a huge piece of Prime Rib.I sliced of a good portion onto my plate. Grabbed a few shrimp for a bit of surf and turf action. Now that I was in full dinner mode, I found the sauteed asparagus, in a good sauce, and right next door was a tray of mushrooms that were delicious. Added a few sweet and sour chicken pieces for a Bit of Chinese American experience.Everything was well cooked and prepared. Except the Sw/S chicken. Could have been overcooked, I could have grabbed the wrong pieces, but I assume it was under the warmer a bit too long. Not really a complete because everything else really tasted delicious. The whole reason for my visit was that it hit up the hibachi grill but after that nice plate my stomach was feeling a bit cramped. I did make my way there. The cook was very nice, and made my order perfect even though I intentionally made a small plate.Dessert has changed since covid theres soft serve machine is not in order, but they do have a deep freezer full of ice cream and of course fortune in almond cookies. For those of you on a diet, I would suggest the fruit version of this but I always indulge on the cookies and ice cream after a huge meal at a buffet like this.It was very worth the money, the staff was perfect, the food was delectable, no complaints will go again. As an addendum I also wanted to hit the fresh sushi bar, but I didnt think my stomach would handle my big plate, the hibachi and dessert with sushi in my stomach. So I cant really judge how talented their sushi chef is, but it is available and looks good.
Lmao I’m obsessed w this buffet, I come here every two weeks !! My bf and I are always greeted by all of them, they’re always soooo sweet and funny! I would give them a 10/10 if I could! The sushiiii OMG I LOVE ITTTT, my bf is a picky eater but he loves there food ! Mainly the pizza haha! Anyway, such a great buffet ! Try it out, you won’t be disappointed!
It was good. Not my favorite due to several things. Too many food choices had not been replenished (the entire time we were there), lack of working staff (one sat directly behind a food line talking loudly on the phone). For those not familiar with all the asian dishes, it can be difficult to tell what is spicy, what sauce it is, etc. There was very little labeled. On a positive, most of the food was good, except the drinking water. I would say, give it a try and judge for yourselves.. It had positives & negatives. Maybe it will be better on a different day.
I came here on a Wednesday, there was not a lot of food options, the food was cold, the crab imitation tasted really weird. I tried to make my “own” food where the chef makes the food and there was only brócoli and mushrooms. I’m sorry, but the only best days to come over here is Saturday and Sunday when they keep making fresh food, other days are not worth it.
I went to eat here Saturday 11/13/2021 with my husband and 2 year old daughter. The food was good and my picky 2 year old daughter actually ate good. The reason why I’m giving it 1 star is because their changing table in the women’s bathroom was broken and I needed to change my daughters diaper. I asked my husband to go into the men’s bathroom to see if there was a changing table in the there so he could change our daughter. Well guess what?! No changing table in the men’s bathroom. This is an inconvenience for parents. Where was I supposed to change my daughter? On the buffet table? Its the 21st century so why don’t we have changing tables in the men’s washroom. What if my husband came here by himself with my daughter? We had to leave and change my daughter in the car. This is unacceptable. This is the last time I am coming here with my family. Definitely not a family friendly place.
The food is sometimes good, but other times cold, dry and hard. It cost more on weekends and dinner time. I really like going here because of the different varieties of food. Osaka, if you are going to charge so much, make sure the food stay warm and worth chewing, please. The grill food is always great of course, because you prepare your raw items and pass it to the chef for grilling. There are even different seasonings for you to choose from. Osaka, keep up the good work and continue to do better.
If I could give 0 stars I would...My husband and I have been here multiple times and it was always just average but last Sunday (7/18/21) we came here with some friends and as I was eating my food, I saw a maggot on my chicken (mind you this was my first plate). I went to the front counter to show the lady working there and she just kinda shrugged it off. I asked for a refund because quite honestly I lost my appetite and she was hesitant but did.As I was sitting there waiting for our friends to finish eating, I see the person that refills the food coming out with another tray of the same chicken I found the maggot in and he just poured the old food on top of the fresh food. I was so appalled.I will never again be eating here and I advise that you look at your food carefully before eating it.
The good is ok and when I was there with 2 other people was with for lunch and the price went high understandable and was didn’t know that crab leg was dinner and the server was rude saying u need to pay for it because it’s dinner price and I know that I did nicely pay for the dinner price for one and I say my bad and she said it’s ok I didn’t know and we ain’t eating at 5 when it’s dark and long story
Excellent buffet. After the first drink order, you wont see the waiter again. They dont refill water or drinks unless you keep asking over ad over again. If you order tea, then they dont give you water. Tea is a small Styrofoam cup...not a kettle like other places. Seafood options better on weekends, not weekdays..
Good food. Great service. I always see staff cleaning but let’s be serious, it’s a buffet. Guests can dirty that up in one walk through. This is my favorite Chinese buffet. They have something for everyone including sushi and the hibachi grill. It’s well worth the price of 13$ per adult.
This place was great. But I’m rating it 1 star due to the fact that they had been partnered with door dash. But despite a pandemic and people rightfully choosing to stay home, they refuse to door dash or deliver and are still running an actual buffet. In a pandemic. 🤮 if they’re not gonna get with 2021 and offer delivery they aren’t a place worth while.
I celebrated my PhD earlier this evening in this fine place. I am glad to say that it was a tremendous evening and the place was no doubt the reason for the outstanding gathering. The stuff contributed in a pleasant way, the meals were extremely good and my buddies were so glad. We shall surely return for more joyful events. Thank you very much.
This place used to be great. Good food and good selection. They weren’t really a 5 star place because they allowed kids t run and scream and touch all the food all the time and didn’t even try to enforce order. But ever since the pandemic they took a nosedive. They’re dirty and don’t even care anymore. Furthermore they still operate a buffet in the middle of a highly contagious pandemic and don’t even offer delivery through DoorDash anymore. It’s horrendous. This has my favorite black pepper chicken. But sadly I’ll never eat it again.
For a local buffet, I guess it is ok. They have recently added more tables so that brings in more customers, but sadly has slowed down service regarding refilling cups and taking empty plates. I understand they have a full house, but I have gotten up to get my own drinks and will get a look for it! Well, Im not waiting for you now am I? Other than this, food is good and Ive never gotten food poisoning, so Im grateful for that.
First time coming here with family on a Sunday. We got seated immediately once we stepped inside which was a plus. They have a variety of food, which was great. Decent salad bar, and the sushi bar was very good. They could do a little better on the dessert bar though. Our waitress was very friendly and was getting our drinks without us even having to ask. Good experience
This place used to have a variety of food to choose from now it seems since the pandemic they have 1/3 of the hot tables shut down which means 1/3 of the menu and to top it off they raises the adult lunch price to 12 dollars a person, not really worth it in my opinion
Great food selection for a great price! If you love sushi this is the place! Great selection of all kinds of sushi and you can even build your own dish to be cooked on the grill with your choice of meats and veggies for all you can eat! All for less than $15 its better than going to a restaurant and ordering by the dish.
I like this place a lot. The guy at the counter is a real sweetheart, their kids are always there and super cute! The buffet is always well stocked, the stir fry counter is easy and fast, sushi is delicious, pudding/cookies/cakes/ice cream is the perfect way to end the meal. If you go late at night be prepared for some lower quality sushi, mine tonight wasnt rolled tightly enough and fell apart in my hand. Otherwise a wonderful experience!
This place is my preferred one. I go to many restaurants but here I keep coming back again and again. The crew is very amicable and the food they place on your table is so fresh and tasty. I never miss an opportunity to have a decent dinner in this place. Highly recommended.
I usually visit this place at least one a month. The quality of the food is usually very good, however, on this visit several items on the hot buffet were stone cold and a couple more were empty and not refilled while I was there, which is very unusual. The server was trying very hard, but had far too many tables to take care of and couldnt give the usual good level of service. The selection of food items is very good, and they have a much better selection of sushi than any of the other Chinese buffets in the area. Their clams in garlic sauce were especially good this trip, hot and fresh and delicious. They also have an excellent selection of appetizers, ranging from chilled cocktail shrimp and seafood salad to egg rolls and crab rangoon, which is another thing they make better than just about anyone else in this area. Build your own stir fry is always an excellent option here, and they have lots of ingredients to choose from that are always well chilled and fresh.Im hoping they were just having an off day and this doesnt become normal for them. Will review again after my next visit.
There are big signs all over the place warning customers about wasting food. There is even a section on the receipt that says something along the lines of we reserve the right to charge an additional 50 dollars for excessive wasted food. It really made me feel like I didnt want to even get anything because if I didnt like it and clean my plate they were going to charge me. The waiter didnt even refill my drink. I just went to the soda fountain and got my own. This seemed to be the common as everyone else was doing it to. The food wasnt great. Its your basic Chinese buffet food. I often wonder if there is a recipe book somewhere that has the recipes that all these Chinese buffets share. I tried to be adventurous, which was tough with the potential 50 dollar charge looming over me, and tried the store fry bar. When I got my food the meat was still cold and it was just generally gross. Somehow didnt get the waste charge. Thank god.
Friendly staff however when I sat down to eat I picked up the fork it felt sticky not good I asked the waitress for another one but she couldnt understand me so they sent another waitress she brought another fork it was very stained Im extremely cautious at this point kind of wanting to go but she came back with a hot glass of water she saved the day. They try to keep the hot food coming and very flavorful. To me it loses points for cleanliness of silverware it makes me Leary of the cups, plates and food.
My husband and I Love going here. Just not after like 9pm. Cause the sushi rice sucks. But before then the food is kick ass. Its amazing!!! We go here every date night. Love their sushi with avocado in it. And love the grill. I Love their service. Most of the time the servers/bus people are just unhappy cause most people dont tip them, not even for their drinks and attentiveness. I like the people who work there. Theyre great. Im never gonna stop going their to eat.
Went at 6:45, party of 10. We were pleasantly surprised. Everything we chose to eat was temperature hot and very tasty. Sushi choices very good, 4 different soups. Desserts. Could not find the hot mustard but salt n pepper on tables. Crab rangoon and black pepper chicken was delicious. Would go again.
Excellent choice pass by the place everytime my wife drags me into dollar tree. Never knew what they were or offered. Did a search for chi nese buffet when we were in the area and viola. This is the place next to dollar tree. Since my wife had that as the next stop on our journey for that day.... I thought why not try them out. I kept it to myself and after walking around that store and filling the trunk with dollar trinkets I said lets go eat. Where her question there my answer. The look on her face was priceless. So, me her and my two little locust walked curiously in. It looked nice. Upon first glance. Smells were pleasant. Reviews said staff were very nice...Check. ok not bad so far. They rang us up...wait you.mean to tell me the drink is included??? Yes, the cashier said with a smile. As she gave us the total for 4 people. I hurried up and passed my debit card across the counter before she realized that she made a mistake in charging us. She swipes the card I signed the receipt and looked for pricing...it wasnt a mistake....WOW. already long story short the food was amazing. I love the cheesy crab bake, octopus salad, sweet and sour chicken, let me just say when its cooked right and fresh....theres nothing like it. Veggies were great fresh and the variety let me tell you Im gonna have to go ten times to try everything. It was pretty busy but the staff manages it well never felt packed and never had to wait for anything...Well done staff. P.S please T.I.P. the table waitresses they work hard and are very pleasant show them you appreciate their efforts. I saw so many people running those little ladies just to not leave a single cent.
Decent price for nice variety of food and all you can eat. I love the shrimp, the sushi, hibachi, and other foods :) I dislike the tipping, sometimes they give us juice, other times you have to get some drinks yourself.. so what’s the point of tipping if no one is assisting you with anything? Bathrooms are dirty as usual, the waitress and workers act like they don’t speak English,, but be aware they do understand English.. which is fine.. yup and I’ll definitely be coming here more often! I still love the place ! :)
This was ny first time going and my boyfriend swore the place was amazing. Well it is. I really did enjoy the sushi bar. All the food was amazing and fresh for it being 4:30. They also had a hibachi grill that smelled amazing. The fruit was a little under ripen but it was still very good. This would be a nice place to go for dinner or lunch. A few downsides for me were the price for dinner, $12.49, ans the hospitality. The price was a little steep for my personal preference, but it was worth it. The hospitality could definitely be improved on. I saw my server 4 times during our hour and a half stay. She did mess up my boyfriends drink order, and we did not ask for the proper drink (obviously our own fault). If we would have asked for the new drink I knew she would have brought it. She didnt really communicate with us about anything other than that.
The price is fine and its a buffet all you can eat. They got discounts for children and seniors. Most of the food is Asian, but there are American dishes too.Sushi is great here, and cheese pae too.The staff is nice almost everyday. The place looks clean, and the food is good to great. They charge you if you try to get ice cream to go, you most eat it in the place.Drinks are included in your fee.
First of all I’d like to say Sunday buffet dinner 12.99 with drink is a pretty good deal.I really like seeing a restaurant or any facility for that manner where you see people physically wiping and cleaning everywhere and here you see that! I feel that if the front is this well cared for what you can see of the kitchen looks well maintained/CLEAN!!!The service seems pretty good. I came a little late on a Sunday around 8:30. The place wasn’t empty and they had employees all around making sure everything was good. The highlight here is the hibachi grill! Pretty good. Don’t forget to tip that guy. Why not! Most of the food was pretty good.I wish the egg rolls were better they were very bland and empty...the stuffed shrimp had non existing shrimp lol seriously where were the shrimps lol? They were tasty but yeah not even the tail sticking out like most buffets...The prime rib was pretty good! I could cut it with a spoon(seriously!)Overall decent buffet well cared for and nearby me so I’m sure I’ll be back.
Good little buffet. The move to a smaller building can be felt. The parking lot it is in is atrocious, however. There are a decent variety of dishes. I have my go-to dishes. Their sushi is hit or miss. It is good for what it is. Ive seen Chinese all you can eat restaurants on the higher end of the spectrum go out of business. This hits that happy medium & Im happy with it.
If you cant afford real sushi, this seems to be a decent alternative. you get quite a bit for your money, even if the food cant compete with the real thing. Although its kind of like the fast food of sushi, dont let that stop you from trying it. It is actually really good. I have been to other restaurants where Ive spent over $100 in one sitting just for some sushi, so I do know what real sushi taste like. However, unlike a real sushi restaurant, theres a large variety of other delicacies, and if youre not the type to eat Japanese food, they do have a selection of more common foods that you ll find here in the good old US of A. So in that respect that they actually do have just about everything for anyone. realistically you could take a whole group of people and theres sure to be something for everyone. One thing they do need to work on is the public restroom. If they kept it clean and spiffy it up a bit, I would feel more comfortable staying longer.A word of caution though, they do have foods that are not for the faint of heart. If youre daring, just be careful. If It looks like something that would upset your stomach, you might not want to take a leap of faith on that one.So there are good and bad to this restaurant, but overall its not half bad.
I went for lunch time. The price wasnt bad considering that they offer so much! Typical asian foods, american, salad bar, Hibachi station, sushi and desserts. When I first walked in it was way bigger than I expected and the atmosphere was nice. The food was overall pretty good, they brought out fresh food often. The only downfall was that the fried foods were alittle old (but fried foods arent expected to stay fresh for too long).
Lovely attentive wait staff. . buffet style with plenty of sweet and savory selections. .glad not alot changed when they moved to their new location. Out of this world prices. A sure definite stop. Be sure to try fresh choices cooked while you wait. Egg foo young is my favorite. Try this place. . you will come back time after time.
Good place to eat cheaply. For all those who are complaining about the sushi, a dinner costs $13.50 including a drink. What are you expecting? Top quality sushi? It is what it is... A cheap buffet serving massive quantities of buffet quality food, which I am good with. One thing about this place that does bother me is that enployees are always on their cell phones, with ear buds on. To me this says they dont care. If I were the boss, I would make the employees clean windows, wipe things down, etc when not busy. The place does need to be cleaned up. A lot.
Not sure what happened... a few years ago this place was awesome. Friendly staff, clean restrooms, decent food. Lately, specifically last summer when they were still located across the street by Applebee’s, the overall quality began to dramatically diminish. Cold food, long time to replenish, sticky floors... what? Of course, they just moved over by Joliet Mall so I might give it another shot - might edit my review accordingly.
Overall this place is pretty good. After coming over to this location for a couple of months now, their food quality hasn’t gone down at all. There was a time where our waitress didn’t give us our drinks and I served myself after that the staff gave me dirty looks... 🤷♂️parents this one is for you too, if your going to bring your children into this place, put a leash on them. I don’t know how many times I’ve nearly knocked over some kid because they run into me running around the place.Other then that the Lunch price is awsome and on sundays they have all you can eat crawfish which I’m a big fan. Keep up the good work and I’ll continue to go to this location.
This place has either very good, selections or really bad ones. Mostly bad. This was one of the dirtiest places Ive ate at. The silverware were all dirty, the hot food tables had cold food. The only good thing that happened was when my wife and I left. Where are the food and restaurant inspectors In this town.?
This place is ok for the most part, I usually come here about once every 3 months and their service if fair. One thing I do would like for them to carry is fried calamari, and I bet Ill be coming more often. Thats one thing I hate about living far from the city is that the buffets in the city do carry it and I find my self driving all the way there for it. But other than that I do recommend this location. Would be a 5 star if they had the fried calamari.
Solid buffet options. Some of the food is typical buffet quality though which is subpar. I wouldnt touch the sushi. It just looked unappetizing although they were making it right in front of me. I question the freshness and quality of the sushi ingredients. The stir fry station is a nice touch.
I used to like this place but it has gone bad. The staff is rude and the guy behind the counter making sushi is just beyond ignorant. I stood there while he walked off and came back and on and on still ignoring me for over 20 minutes. Thats unacceptable. The food is OK they dont have some things I liked and some just sit there a little too long. I have food allergies and they mix seashell next to chicken and some people tend to use the same spoon causing a problem for me since I can die if I unintentionally eat it. Over all there are better places like this with much friendlier staff where u dont feel bad about coming in.
Wasnt to impressed. Good was not very hot. Pans of food were a quarter full and not being filled until we asked for fresh. I was expecting a lot better. The one in Bolingbrook is very good. I will go to that one again for sure. I would like to give this one in Joliet another chance. I hope to give another review and hope its better.
Dirty and its only been open a few weeks. Food is mediocre, dry hard rice, all fried food seems like fryer temp was too low - greasy and soggy. Wont return.A woman in a wheel chair was being seated as I was leaving - they sat her at a table in the middle where she had to weave her wheel chair between several tables just to reach the aisle. Not cool, seat her on the aisle people!
I used to really like coming here but over time the prices have gone up and the quality has gone down. Overall, I still come here because it is local, however I am disappointed with the venue in general. The food has been super greasy as of late and its pretty disappointing.Slippery floors on a regular. The floors are pretty unsafe when youre getting your food.Bathrooms are usually pretty gross so youre warned there. The overhead lighting and decor is from the Old Country Buffet days. The booths are pretty tattered and taped u0 and the lighting over the booths are pretty dirty too.
Really better than expected. They have sushi, salad, soup, fruit [canned Id say], entres, pot stickers, egg rolls, and a grilling station where you choose your own meats and sauces. It was reasonably priced and quite clean. The waitresses dont speak too much English (Japanese).Good quality for the price, but Im not really a buffet kind of guy so only 4 stars.
The lunch service was terrible there is so many problems. First the servers dont wear there name tags so you cant fill out the survey and rate then second the servers arent even paying any attention to the customers I had to wait 30 min for a refill on my drink I could have walked up to the drink machine and filled it myself along with that when I finely did get my drink refilled there assent even any ice in it. Also the cashier at the front is just rude beond all reason i will never eat lunch hear again. I can tell you from experience the lunch service is terrible but the dinner crew is excellent.
Food tastes somewhat generic, but oh my goodness the sushi is really what makes me go there. Ive had all the sushi, especially the California Roll and it is the best. Only one sushi which i do not recall the name that wasnt too great. Never got food poisoning from the sushi so thats a plus. Im rating 3/5 stars not because im upset about the place, but because I believe that the quality of the food isnt that up to par. Besides the sushi of course. Also the food is sometimes cross-contaminated with nearby foods, and is left unkempt for an hour if not more. Overall, my reasons to go here would be the sushi and the Hibachi part of the restaurant, very yummy and filling!
Some food was passable (barely), but most of it was definitely not. Rice tasted like nothing. Chicken was so dry and chewy, it was practically jerky with sauce thrown on top of it. Mac and cheese was beyond bland, the cheese had no flavor whatsoever. Its pretty hard to mess up something as simple as mac and cheese. Even the desserts tasted bland. The best dessert at this place was the packaged fortune cookie I had after I forced myself to finish what I could of my food. I dont write many bad reviews for places, but my god, this place was just awful.
I wasnt impressed! The noodles were dry and the chicken was chewy and the crab meat and cheese had a very disturbing flavor.. the dessert bar wasnt impressive either but the staff was nice and it was crowded so they must be doing something right to other people. Idk Im not fond of playing $30 for two people to get ok food will not be returning
I just left this place and had the most unfortunate and unprofessional experience that know one would want to go to a restaurant for. As I am paying for my family to eat. I go to get sushi only to find that there is a hair in the rice. The chefs behind the counter both should have been wearing hair nets, but were not. Also, there was no manager to be seen or to have been spoken with directly. And they chose to not apologize on the phone when the young woman at the front desk was speaking to them. They only took off my cut of the recipt. I do not recommend anyone to eat here for this is no excuse nor exception to be happening in the first place. I wish I would have taken a picture right away before they took my plate strait to the trash and were all standing around talking about it too.
My husband and I always come here for the sushi. We know that the sushi is always fresh and tasty. We always request this one waitress as she is great with our daughter and she never lets our drinks get completely gone. We also like this as our go to place because they have other food besides sushi. The even have prime rib! Where else can you get high class food at low prices? The bonus is they also give veterans and senior discounts.
Yesterday(May 31th 2019) I went to this location and I hate to give it a bad review because I like the food but that day must not have been my day because the floor was very slippery and I fell and busted my knee up and they help me up and gave me ice and that was it no free meal or anything else. Then I would say maybe 15 minutes later I ended up throwing up the food in the bathroom. Now Ive never thrown up here before but that was kind of odd to me. Im not one to make a scene when something like this happens so Im hoping that maybe next time they will give me some type of compensation for what has happened and Im hoping that the next time I come here the floor will not be slippery cuz I would hate for me or anyone else to fall here again.
If I could post the pictures I would but let me tell you about my experience. My boyfriends sushi-ball was rotten and freezing cold. When brought up to management the manager claimed that oh its a different kind of sushi. My sushi was rock hard and that was right off the buffet. My pork chunks were all 100%fatty wirh no meat. I threw up in their bathroom because of how bad their food was. DO NOT EAT HERE. ITS A HEALTHCODE VIOLATION THAT THIS PLACE IS STILL RUNNING .Tables are left with crumbs on them and there are dozens of stains all over the whole establishment.
The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting! Blood on the seat, tissue and feminine products all over the floor, stalls didnt even close properly. The food was dry, and we had to hunt down silverware. Just the thought of the bathroom made me lose my appetite. Will not be returning.
My husband and I just ate there and I must say not a very good experience. There were several items that were cold. We told the lady who was bringing our drinks to us but she either couldnt understand all what I was saying about the cold food or just didnt care. A real waste of $26 for our meal. I would have totally spent a little extra to go eat at our favorite restaurant Sushi Ya. Next time we will. Maybe if half the staff would pay more attention to checking on the food instead of being on phones, like when we were paying for our food the girl was talking with someone on speaker and one lady that was working at the buffet I saw her on hers a couple of times, maybe the food wouldnt be cold or left setting out to long. Needs improvement!!! 😝 👎🏻 😠 👎🏻
Not many buffets will let you just bring in your laptop and work on homework while you eat leisurely, I just wanted a mostly quiet place to type up an essay and snack a little while I was doing it, and that only was this the perfect atmosphere but I didnt feel like the staff was judging me or anything which was a pretty big concern of mine, I left a pretty good tip because I knew I was taking up a table for over an hour, but for anyone else in a similar situation I definitely recommend this place for homework, just make sure you leave something nice for your waitress because you are taking up one of her spots 😉👍
Came here a year ago, husband and I came back to see if it had improved. Its gotten worse. You can tell that the food has been left out for hours. Sushi has crunchy rice, bread is rubbery, etc... The floor is sticky. The lights look like they havent been cleaned in ages and are hanging inches away from your food. Never again.
Doesnt even deserve one star but wouldnt let me post without selecting 1-5 stars. My daughter didnt want to go here..... Kept telling me how bad its been the last several times we were there....... I must say I agree it hasnt been good the last several times, buffet items almost gone, dried out and not being replenished. My husband loves buffets, I told my daughter that since it was a weekend night that it would be busy enough that the food would be fresh and trays would be full. This time took the cake.....we will NEVER BE BACK....... SO.....while I was grabbing a plate from the buffet table there was a lid from ice cream stuck to.the bottom if next plate..... Gross.... Poor dishwashing skills....... Then I got to our table and the server had brought my drink... I looked at it closely.... I thought there was a big pot sticker noodle in it..... I looked closer....... I couldnt tell what it was so I took it to the server and got a spoon..... It was a wadded up napkin......YUK! in my soda cup... How did she not see that when she filled it up with ice and pop...... I asked to speak to the manager....... No compensation, no remorse, within moments my husband pulled a bug long hair out of his food. GROSS!!! WE WILL NEVER BE BACK!!!!! I pray the health inspector see this review and makes a surprise visit on BC Osaka..across from the mall on rt 30 in Joliet , Illinois. Im sure there will be many violations sited........
IF YOU LOVE HAVING FOOD POISONING, GO TO OSUCKA! Yesterday was my first time eating at Osaka, it will most definitely be the last time I ever go. The room temperature/bland food was absolutely terrible, everything looked as if it was the leftovers from the day before, tasteless, worst quaility and when the “waitress” came to the table, the first & only thing she said was “I need to see your receipt”..in such a piss poor way as if we snuck into this hole in the wall trying to eat the garbage they serve. Everything about this place was terrible. I’d rather eat out of a McDonald’s garbage can. I wouldn’t recommend OSUCKA to anyone..I wouldn’t even let my dog eat that garbage.
Very disappointed with this place! Food is good but service is horrendous. We were given a table with a dirty floor and dirty silverware. We were not given drinks but noticed that other were served better than we were. This isnt the first time it has happened either.
Not happy. Went there was expecting to be having a nice meal. Wasnt happy. Next time well be going to Bolingbrook was happy with the food and selection in Bolingbrook but not Joliet. Joliet had no where near the selection or freshness that has. The staff was nice and friendly and helpful it is just the food selection and freshness wasnt as good as Bolingbrook Osaka.
The booth benches are all ripped up to two-foot-long rips and the stuffings are coming out. Very unsanitary. The carpet has raveled balls of carpet fiber all over and people can actually trip on them. The exit door has the handle missing and the place that holds the handle has been taped with the black electrical tape. These issues have been there for a very long time. Who knows what the kitchen is like and what gets into the food if they cant even take care of the visual restaurant where people have to sit.
Cons: the Prime rib was beyond over cooked, cheesecake was burnt, very small sushi selection to choose from, wasabi was mediocre;Pros: the clams were good, crab ragoon was very sweet/light and crispy, sweet & sour pork was delicious, as was the lo mein and prawns.$12.99/person
OMG the food was good but some of it was cold and when the guy was coming around asking what drinks youd like, when i asked for a pepsi he beought me a lemonade...i think he has an obsession with lemonade bc thats all he would bring us but great food and experience with the fam.
Went here yesterday with my boyfriend for dinner and we decided to go to the Osaka in Joliet vs. Bolingbrook since its closer to home. Everything seemed ok. We ate dinner and there was only one thing that looked off which was some sort of spicy beef. My bf cut into it and it was still pink in the middle like it wasnt fully cooked. We both finished dinner and are on are way home. At this point I was not feeling good, but my bf felt fine. I knew I ate a few things different then him so I pinned it to the cooked osters, cooked crab meat or the nasty sushi roll I ate because those are the only things my bf didnt eat between the two of us. Regardless at about 8 p.m. which was only a couple hours after we ate I was vominting literally everything back up until about 11 a.m. Its safe to say I will never ever be going here again let alone any other buffets for quite sometime in fear of getting food poisoning again.
Terrible service, went in to get the buffet to go, stood at the front for 10 minutes and was stared at by multiple staff members but ignored. Tried calling to speak with a manager, no answer. Walk out without being Acknowledged does the two women working the floor watched won’t be goin back.
Never going back to this place the crew is very nice and polite, but this past Friday me and two of my friends had lunch at this place and thank GOD I didnt Die because I had vomiting and diarrhea all Friday night and part of Saturday morning, never never never going back to this place.

2022-02-03Friendly staff at all you can eat Hibachi and Chinese Buffet. Hibachi selection is great and staff works with you to customize the flavor to your liking. Overall, not a bad selection for price. Some items were not as expected thus 1 less star but will be back if in the area

2021-10-03This buffet is one of the greatest buffets I’ve experienced, not for its location or convenience but for its choices in picks of foods to choose from.I highly recommend this buffet to locals and travelers. — 𝘍𝘖𝘖𝘋 !

2022-05-03The food was flavorful ...great variety...freshly made ....great pricing. Very clean (including the bathroom). Very friendly staff!! The only negative was odd, you could see the steam coming up from the food trays yet the inside of the food was cold...not room temperature cold, like almost refrigerator cold. Would definitely try again!

2022-03-20Good to go on a weekend, plenty of seafood options and the hibachi grill options were great, wish they offered fresh rice noodle too ! Just a bit lacking in drinks, the fountain drinks tasted like the machine was not cleaned. Nice staff, cleaning constantly and pricing includes the drinks. Remember to tip the staff and be courteous!

2022-04-04Listen… I’m not going to sugar coat this.. AVOID EATING HERE!! The food was so watery and bland I’ve seen better seasoning in a soup kitchen. The food was either over cooked or undercooked. The only thing that was good and edible was the hibachi noodles and even at that seasoning was lacking. No I’m not a critic but I do happen to go around trying different Chinese buffets and this is by far one of the worst. I will not be coming back and encourage others to not waste your money here. If you like quality buffets, THIS IS NOT IT.

2022-05-15The food is good, but the service is terrible. The person taking the money is rude , and they add a tip on your bill, and there were only 3 of us. If i could give them zero stars, i would. The waitress kept walking by, but not taking the dirty plates. Never once asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks. Very bad

2022-06-25One of the worst buffets I have ever been to. The only thing that had some flavor was the fried blue crab. Everything else was bland or left an after taste in your mouth. Even the salad bar wasnt good. I dont recommend eating here at all. Nasty

Brought to my table steam rolling in to the air!!.. Very Tasty.. Very Flavorful.. I was allowed to eat in the employee break area.. Charged my phone up.. I was there from 3:15 to 5:45.. the front clerk always serves me when my order is not buffet.. She makes sure my drink is full and that the food is good..👍👍👍👍👍
