I had an excellent shopping AND selling experience today! I brought in a decent number of items and even so it was looked thru quickly and paid out VERY fairly. The store is nicely organized. Especially the toy section has toys separated by categories for easier shopping. (I.e. all bikes in one spot of course but more so like Little People toys, doll play, cars/trucks, dinos being placed in the same area or shelf. ) i ran into the manager of this store and I regret not getting her name because she was super helpful and kind. And she was even the one placing items on the floor from a sale that day! So its great to know that items are so fresh. The other employees were also very nice to me. All in all a wonderful experience and I will be back!
Well organized and tons of product. In most cases, I can find what I’m looking for and at a great price. The employees are always friendly and helpful.

After my recent visit to this location I will no longer visit any Once Upon A Child locations. This store is dirty but lets face it is a second hand store so I was willing to over look that. I live in Florida and like to visit this store when I came to visit family because this store is large store with a wider selection then the store back home. The prices at this location are outrageous and have gone up tremendously since my last visit. After selecting an entire new wardrobe for my daughter who had just gone up a size. I went to the register, with a cart full of clothing. Pants: $7+ a pair, shirts: $5 each, shorts and skirts: $6 each and dresses. All of the dress labeled in her size were $6.50, She picked out 6. One of the 6 dresses was labeled as an infant jacket priced at $12. I requested they price the dress as the other dresses. The staff was very rude and refused to do so stating it was policy. I refused to buy it at that price which result in a very unhappy little girl - it was her favorite. As an additional note: In line before me a women sold them an entire garbage bag of clothing all they paid her was $4.80 less then any single item I found in the store.
Walked into the store no issue. Walked past three customers wearing no masks, can’t wear one myself due to asthma. Lady at the register refused to check me out even though I told her I cannot wear one due to a medical condition. I will definitely not be coming here again.
A garage sale is better organized then this place. Toys thrown every which way. And their prices are ridiculous. You only pay a few more buck at the box stores. And I dont have to scrounge to find something that isnt dingy or ratty looking. Customer service is usually fair. No one They were also better organized.**Oh and as far as you people paying between 30-40% of what we resell the item for, that is not true. I brought in brand new baby blankets. You offered 5% of what I looked at some you were selling. And those were used. Mine were sealed or had their cardboard still.
The signs states there take all clothes for children. That’s a lie! They don’t take separates or brand new shoes! I would rather donate to a charity than ever going to this store again!
I am not impressed with the business and customer service ,As I walk in to sale my items I didnt get a Hello or a Welcome at the counter but the young sales girls were busy talking complain to her coworker That she was tired of dealing with angry moms . I guess no manager was working at the moment since this young girls were just goofing off and doing whatever they wanted. I brought boys clothes all from name brand from Gymboree, The childrens place, Calvin klai, Tommy, Addidas, Nike and two Halloween costume from The Disney Store that I had paid original $187 for each . While I waited I decided to browse around the store and look . This girls dont know how to do their job. The kids clothing had wholes on the fabric and not on the seam lines it was all damaged. This is were it upsets me , Yeah I can see why this place gets a lot of angry moms. The girls only choose 20 pieces of clothing include the two Disney Halloween costume the only wanted to offer my $12 ,Are you kidding me! Seriously, I had paid $187 for each costume. This place had cheap Sears, ,Walmart and Target kids clothing name brands price for $10 each! Parents you are better of buying your child NEW! clothes from walmart for way much less! I even mention to the sales girls that the clothing has wholes on then the price should be place on the seam lean . I asked the sales girl , DO YOU EVEN CARE? Her answer was NO! I see the reason why this place gets a lot of angry moms . I took all my stuff back rather give it to a mom in need insted of making the owners of this place rich that keep ripping parents off.
Went to this place today. When they say theyre having a dollar sale, it is the worst Dollar sell possible I may have seen about three things in my daughters size on sale, and weirdly those things were abnormally sized. I mean they werent true to size. Then I checked other sizes just in case I can buy her something in a bigger size and it was only a couple things on sale in those sizes too. This is just a problem that I encountered at this location when I go to the one on Robert road they have a great sale and its huge. Not to mention this location clothing selection is not very attractive. Furthermore, a couple things I purchased, I found out once I got home, they were ripped. I seen a couple damage things there, the other location dont take damaged items.
OUAC in Crest Hill/ Joliet is hit and miss. I have been shopping and selling here for 4 years now but less over the last year. If you dont mind taking your time and digging through lots of items its worth it. You will find good deals and quality items...you just have to look. I do wish it was better organized. I have noticed more items with stains, holes, broken, dirty, out of date and missing pieces recently which is why Im only giving it 3 stars. It would be great if everything was of high quality and great condition. Something else I have noticed is that employees dont go through all your items when selling. In fact they often skip over new and items in great/ current condition/ style. They dont always buy seasonal items either as they advertise. I have been told by employees to bring items back when they are in season. And the items they do buy...well they give you little to nothing for them. Better off donating since it takes so long trying to sell. Could be much better.
Would not recommend this place whatsoever especially if your child has severe asthma and they kick you out for her not wearing a mask. She’s only 3 mind you. Extremely rude and inconsiderate. If 6 ft works why the mask?
Terrible customer service... Also i bring in 4 bags of name brand clothes new or barley used and they didnt take any of it. on top of that i brought in a $200.00 swing and a $100.00 piano walker and they paid me $42.00 for them. I recommend not going here to sell your items. They rip you off. Other than that you can kinda get a deal if you are purchasing things from them.
The worst retail experience of my life!!!! First of all it seems like nobody who works here likes their job. The employees never smile, very cold, and do act annoyed when u bring them your items. Its like hello this is a retail store without us people selling you our items we dont use anymore there wouldnt be a once upon a child.Another thing is, I been selling items for awhile here cuz its extra change in my pocket then the next time I came in to sell they told me I was on no buy list are u serious?? Your telling me I left something there but cant even tell me what I left. What is this store some kind of Hitler dictatorship.then when I called corporate no one returned my call. My mom finally got through n they told her Im on this no buy list thing because of theft. Ok what did I steal??? Only thing I can think of is I sold a power vehicle car that I bought w my money for my daughter for Christmas. It sits in basement and collect dust shes afraid to drive it so I sold it. Then my mother calls stating she wants to buy it back. So dont accuse me of stealing because my mom wanted to buy it back.Then I had a brand new easel to sell never used, but because it wasnt in a brand new box they wont buy it!!! Are u serious??? Is this a retail store? Im getting so confused. I feel the employees that work here are stuck up n need to o learn customer service. They are the coldest retailer I have ever dealt with. Just horrible customer service and lazy employees because they dont go through all your items. I had to point out the sets to them cuz if they went through all my stuff they would see the sets were connected n never used. This place needs a whole new adjustment. Worse experience ever!!!!!!
Waste of time. Went in there to sell items and i was coming from far. I asked for the estimate time and the lady said maybe 3 hours. I was hoping less so i can just do some shopping and go back home. I asked the lady if there was any way she can look at my items before then because i did not live around there. All i got in return was a no and that 3 hours was just an estimate time. I asked well what time do you guys close and she said 6 so i was confused because that was going to be in three hours so i was not sure if she wanted to to come back when it was closed.... so i asked if i could just come back tomorrow because it would be easier. She was so rude just giving me attitude saying no. Never coming back. Im sticking to the bolingbrook location!!!
I had my sister bring in a bunch of items to sell or in store credit. It was shocking that they only purchased one item out of a huge collection of clothing that were for various ages and boy and girl items..winter and summer. Some with tags still on them.Whats upsetting is when I was returned the bags and boxes you could very much tell they had not gone through anything to even determine whether theyd be interested in selling them in their store. I asked if they said anything and my sister only said they were very rude to her and seemed annoyed.It does seem hard to believe the store wouldnt be interested in brand new Nike outfits. I am only glad I didnt get an in store credit to shop there. Id rather spend my money at kohls where they treat people with respect and arent acting as if you have annoyed them by going in the store.
Brought in a pretty much brand new superyard (playyard). Bought it for $56 last month. Guess what I got for it? $6. $6 for perfect condition. No marks no nothing. But they of course are going to sell it for $25 or $30. I’ve seen a lot of things in there worse condition that are being sold for $20. A crib that in horrible condition is being sold for $50. Staff are rude. Store is unorganized. I’m never coming back to this location. I’d much rather drive to the hickory Hills location, there they give you a good price for your items and don’t jip you on prices. And the location is super clean and organized. Very upset and I hope the owner reprimandes the employees.
We brought in lots of brand name clothes and only got $36 for all of it. They claimed some of it was too worn even though all of the clothes were relatively new. They also said that some of the clothes were for bigger kids so they couldnt accept, even though they have big kid sizes in the store. Horrible service. Do NOT recommend.
My name is Melissa, and Ive come to shop a couple times here no real problems. But the last time I came in to sell some things my daughter grew out of, I received the worst customer service! I brought in one I item with my daughter in my other arm because shes 10months cant walk yet, and the lady just looks at me and I asked her how it works, she said you need to fill this paper, leave your items on the ground but right now theres an hour wait. She looked as if I burdening her with work to do. Now again I have my daughter with me. I told her I had a couple more things in the car so she said ok ( with an annoyed look on her face) so Im struggling a little with the things in my hand and my daughter on the other I couldnt open the door a customer was kind enough to help me. I get back to the counter and she needed my drivers license so that I can leave the items there, I unfortunately left it in my jacket. So she said you need to take your items with you.. I asked if they can just keep them because in reality I didnt need or care for the money I just wanted to get rid of them.. She said nope she had no were to put them. But in reality she would have somewhere to put them if I would have sold them. I took my items she didnt offer to help, she was just so unwilling, attitude, annoyed, rude, and I was so disappointed. Luckily there was a pregnant woman coming right outside as I was putting them in my car and I offered them to her she took them all .. With so much gratitude. I will never shop here again. Customers need to be treated with more respect. And too be clear this was at 2108 Plainfield rd. Crest hill il location
Two times Ive went in this store with my girlfriend to look at and sell clothes for my son. Both times I didnt get ethier done.
Oh my God where do I start ? I would give 0 stars if that was an option. Teresa, the so called manager Is absolutely horrible! her attitude is atrocious and she is the most disgusting excuse for a manager that I have ever seen. When i asked for the number to the corporate office, she refused to give it to me and told me to get out of her store then ran to the back and was never able to be found for the next 20 minutes. She is rude to her workers which is why I asked for corporates number and shes rude to the customers. I would never ever sell or shop here because she was so rude and cruel to me. Hopefully the owner reads this and takes heed because you are losing Business due to your employees unprofessional behavior.
Screw this place for ruining a perfectly good store that could have been another record shop after crows nest left. Its an eyesore on top of that and has nothing useful.Oh and let me also toss out there that one time we did have business with these people. They are absolute crooks. You can even see through their snide remark to someone who complained how pathetically they got for a brand new item. They will pay you a ridiculously tiny amount of money for a perfect and originally expensive item. Their excuse for being for profit is bull because others who are also for profit buy much higher. If you are looking I buy or sell anything like this I suggest eBay.
Once upon a child is a perversion of nature and the natural laws that (naturally) govern us. They should be ashamed of their incredible pricing and well groomed staff!Their fantastic selection was overwhelming and confused my primitive mind. I dont have a child, and was probably tripping balls when i went there. But I swear some of the people there had a staring problem!Other than that, I loved it.
They have nice children clothes that are in good condition, some even look that was never worn. They need to organize the clothes and toys better. It is too crowded with toys on top of each other and clothes hanging everywhere.
They scam people when it comes to selling items. I brough a ligjtly used pair of shoes there and they said they wouldnt take them because they were worn a lot and before i left the store i looked where their shoes where and i saw shoes that were in worse condition then the ones i w as willing to sell.
Went in there today seen they had a sale clearance 50%75,%or 10 for 10 mind you it was so unorganized I only went in there for my daughter 3 to 6 month sleepers and onesies fail I asked the girl for the section for that size everything I picked up was 0 to 3 or new born shes like oh Im not sure I guess its all mixed in how frustrating never again plus a few of there out outfits I found were dirty, isnt that considered damaged .. I thought they dont take dirty stained items at least the one in hickory hills dont Ill stick to that location what a disappointment coming to this location .🤦👎👎👎

I can always find great deals here. Not as tidy as other Once Upon a Child stores I have been to, but they seem to have way more stuff and just not enough space.
Got nice winter coats for my grandsons. They grow to fast and this place is great if you dont want to shell out lots of money on things that kids outgrow to fast
I brought in new baby clothes never used , I brought at least 80$ worth of new clothes that I purchased but lost the recit to return it and they told me they could only give me $ 11.10I was like hell naw put it back in the bag made me wait for 30 minutes to tell me that bs
Expensive place,i went there and tried to find good deal for car seat,the price of new in box minnie mouse carseat was $89.99, ,at walmart price is only $65.00,i complain to the manager why is more expensive than walmart,,but she said ahe cant do anything about it..i wont go back no more in this branch.
For selling clothes to them this place is horrible. You could bring name brand items with tags and get nothing. If your going to take anything i would say a lot of jeans.

They take advantage of your items you want to sell. They bought An unused $80 child bouncer for $5.
Once Upon A Child is affordable and they pay for unwanted clothes and accessories. I would recommend it.
Its kinda bad, they rip you off for what you sell and Jack up the price 400% or more usually more. If you catch a sale it is somewhat ok
This store has great prices, but it is extremely crowded with stuff, making it hard to get around with a shopping cart.
Customer service is horrible. They dont even take the time to grow through the clothes, just pick whats on top and push bags to the side
Main thing I would suggest is take better care of the bathroom. Not very sanitary. Love the store.

Staff is very rude. They cant tell you how much they gave for big items. I dont think they actually go through all the clothes. 2 bins of brand new clothes and they took like 5 items. They just want to take the big toys and items and rip you off on them. Dont waste your time. Id rather give them away. Store is not clean either and they leave things out so you trip on them. Came to pick up my clothes and they didnt even know which ones were mine...

2022-07-22Today was the worst experience Ive ever had at this location! Im literally appalled. Every time I visit OUAC, I easily spend $200 on my child. I left everything there and will not be returning. Id rather pay full price than deal with the rude employee I did tonight. I was looking at the shoes in the corner by the fitting rooms. My mom made a comment about me being over there because I didnt hear the female employee speaking to herself about my actions. I politely moved away to look at something else and said nothing. My mom was conversation with me about what was said and the female employee chimed in on out conversation! This woman was so disrespectful! If there was a problem with me looking at the shoes, said employee could have respectfully approached me and inform me of that being by the shoes to look at them directly was no longer permitted. More so, she should not have put her two sense in on a private conversation whether she could hear it or not. Truly sad... I was raised on OUAC merchandise and wanted to do the same for my child.

2022-06-09I’ve been selling and shopping at this location for the past 5 years. Today will be my last. The last two times I sold to them. It was a horrible experience. Very rude. Sooo much attitude. I don’t understand if you don’t want to work don’t. Now I had a brand new play pin in a box. One of the girls with a horrible attitude said you need to open it and build it outside and bring it in she wasn’t even the one helping me. When I came back to pick up my purchase mind you I have 5 kids so I have tons of stuff. Girls whispering and talking smack amongst each other. Very unprofessional. This place has gone downhill. The owner needs to clean shop and hire people who want to work and is pleasant. Very disappointing.

2022-04-20If theres one thing that turns people away, its to walk into a store full of staff with grumpy and unpleasant attitudes. The least you can do is say hi and smile! Not that hard!!!! Visited yesterday and this morning and the vibe was the same! They make you feel like you arent welcomed! In this day and age, where people are going through all kinds of struggles, be kind!

2022-04-01This store is noticeably prejudice against black and brown people. They watch you like a hawk and when they buy back items, this store gives you the lowest pice even if they are New…. Today, I bought two pair of new Nikes for $6.50 apiece and a pair Adidas, that was worn and had no price tag so the cashier asked Caytee, the manager, ‘ what was the price’, Caytee look at us and told the cashier to charge us $8.50. (I don’t care about paying for what I get but I do care when I’m being overcharged or randomly given a price due to my color.) At any rate, I asked Caytee how did she come up with the price she says ‘it’s in the computer’ when I asked her to show me, her excuse was, ‘ the computer won’t turn around And walked off’….

2022-01-27Shout-out to Tonia, the new manager, who is so warm and kind! She’s also done a great job of hiring kind employees like Yazmin! With how things are with the economy these days, this is the place you NEED to go to for a great selection of new or gently used clothing, books, toys, games, strollers, and really anything else for your kids! I look forward to shopping here more often moving forward.

2018-10-05Dishonest liars sold me a dirty, rusted out item that later i was told i can’t return. this is how customers are treated. don’t go to this store. don’t go to orland park either.not only am i extremely disappointed at how i was treated over the phone while explaining a concern i had with an item i purchased, but i contacted so called “corporate” and they still have not gotten back to me. i bought a bouncy seat. was lied to that there Re no batteries in it because they always check every item and make sure it works before setting it out on the floor. not only was that a lie, there were batteries in there and one exploded. ruining the entire thing. the screw was rusted so i had to break the plastic to even get it in. so it’s impossible that anyone checked anything before putting it on the floor. so that means someone tried getting into it but couldn’t and so they shrugged their shoulders and slapped a tag on it and put it to be sold. silly me, i asked a lot of questions about it before i bought it and trusted this was an honest business with honest people but i was very wrong.i will never ever go to this store again.
