Olive Garden Italian Restaurant in other cities:
We were seated near the bar area. After 20 minutes we still had not seen our server and had no drinks. The bartender went and talked to the host stand to see what was going on. She told us someone should be with us soon. After 5 more minutes and the table next to us getting drinks and bread, the bartender came over and said she would just take care of us and wasnt sure what was going on. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time and she had everything out to us in no time. Food was great. Would easily have been a 5 star had the initial wait not been so long. Good job for the bartender going above and beyond what was expected of her.
Have you ever bought potatoes, put then away, and then forgot you bought them? Your only reminder bring the gnats that start flying around after awhile. Ya there werea bunch of those flying around our table last time I was there. My wife got the shrimp and now she is in the couch/bathroom sick. My food was great though
Chain restaurants unfortunately can be hit or miss for many factors, usually however staff and management will dictate your experience. Olive Garden is no exception. We have visited the Decatur OG probably 50 times since it opened. With the exception of waiting for a 2nd bowl of soup or stale cold bread sticks occasionally their food and service does bring us back. $3 plus for an ice tea is obscene, meal pricing however is reasonable all things considered
Menu is currently a slimmed down menu. Just one sheet. Not much to choose from variety wise. Can be very pricey. Went here with someone and it was $78 for 2 meals, an appetizer, 2 beers and a bottle of wine. The food wasnt anything to write home about. The beers are costly- $6 per bottle of boston lager. Wine was cheap- $15 a bottle and it was pretty decent too.
We had a pleasant experience, we had just gotten married and we decided to celebrate it with Italian food at Olive Garden, I think one if the waiters seen our car window were we wrote just married she told her manager and they gave us a small free champaign and wrote on our plastic containers Congratulations we felt so special ❤ and of course the food is always delicious 😋. Thank you!!
Dined in and had a wonderful experience except for two girl workers, who I’m assuming were doing their take out called me fat. I overheard it and cut my meal short because it made me so uncomfortable and upset. I heard one girl call the others name but I honestly couldn’t spell it. I think it started with an L? Lenus or something? Idk. Definitely will never be returning.
I purchased a self serve pasta station. Everything was hot, fresh, and flavorable. It fed our family of 10(7adults 3 kids) and we all were satisfied! Did I mention it was online and pick order that was ready when we got there! Thank you ! It has been a LONG TIME since we have had good experience with takeout!
Great place to eat, but I have to say the customer service was not very great. I thought it was family friendly but when I came thru on Tuesday night for my order online I didnt get silverware nor the other materials I asked for my order. My fiance and I were not very happy. Again the food was great but service needs a little bit of help.
Very bad service, worst Olive Garden we have ever been. My husband got a silver wire out of the chicken breast, really scary, glad he didnt get hurt, that chicken piece was in his mouth and he spit it out. The manager came and took away the plate ASAP. He just offered an apology and free meal of our dinner. Never really explained what happened or what was that wire. We were so tired and left in a hurry.Imagine we arrived to the restaurant around 7pm with kids, and waited more than 50mins for a table, we were told the waiting time was around 20 to 30mins, then was another long time for the bread/soup/salad to arrive even we order ASAP for the kids, but it did not help. I would say the arrangement for the work flow is bad. Will never come back.
The reason to visit a restaurant is to eat the food. For that reason, I would say that the food was OK. Nothing significant about the cuisine lingers in my memory or my palette for that matter. It was not an abysmal experience. On the other hand, the service provided was memorable, but not in a good way. Asked for more breadsticks with soup and never got them till it was time to leave. Second bowl of chicken & gnocchi soup, was just gnocchi soup. Water was only refilled once. And never got the chocolate mints at the end of the meal. The food was OK.
Was a fan, but now will not be back. The worst service ever. Family of 7. Got a total of 11 breadsticks asked multiple times for more. Asked for boxes and never got any to go box. The food was terrible. The women’s bathrooms were covered in feces. We literally decided to eat in the restaurant to take advantage of the unlimited options. 3 of us ordered soup and salad. They refused to refill. No ketchup in the building for the little kids French fries. LOL It became comical. Just terribly disappointed. Waitress was just completely outrageously near purposely terrible. But could have been management making them not refill anything even when requested. Maybe a money thing. I’ve never been so disappointed in a restaurant. If you wish you were closed then just close.
We got to the restaurant at 7:25pm they seated us at 7:45 we did not receive our food until 9:10. We waited forever for our drinks to even be served. I had to ask a second time to have someone even bring me a high chair that took at least 20 min or more. We had our 2yrd old with who can only be contained to a table for so long so we ended up having to take our food to go and it was ice cold after our 10 min ride home.
Nice place for 2 to 4. Was there an on 03-22-22. Prices have gone up and waitress disappeared for about a half hour. Got an expensive coffee as the bill was being paid. Should have sent the Expresso back and got a refund. Its a long wait to see the waitress finally wander by the table.
I never thought this olive garden was very good, but went there last night and it was amazing. Only had a 10 minute wait. The staff was very friendly and made sure we were satisfied. Food was excellent. We met Hunter who is the manager and really made this place run so much better than it did before.
I simply called to talk to my fiancee with a baby problem and got told she has 10 silverware to roll and shell be on her way. I didnt call to see what she was doing. I called to talk to my fiancee with an emergency. Olive garden has no care for their employees or their families.
So many open tables, yet we waited over 30 minutes outside. Hosts werent friendly. It was very hot inside, all of the employees were sweating and fanning themselves. Our server was very nice, but not on top of things, had to keep asking for breadsticks and refills. Food was ok. For the prices you pay, the service and food needs improvements.
Food was delivered to table after an hour and without requested mushrooms. We were told they were out of them because of covid. Waitress then made the strange choice to lie about being out of large to go containers even though other tables had them, claiming they were out. Also Olive Garden is out of onions.
I had a bad review a couple weeks ago from a weekend service that I had with my family. But I returned again on October 26,2021 and was amazed how my experience during the week such a Big Difference from the weekend. Our waitress NIA was on her 2nd day of training and did an AMAZING JOB WITH OUR SERVICE!!!! IM PLEASED that Olive Garden reached out to me after I expressed my concerns about our weekend visit. Thank you so much for listening to my complaints. 5 Stars to NIA!!! I hope I can request her the next time I go but it will only be during the week.
Tristen was my server and he was absolutely amazing. Even though he was the bartender he made sure that everything was good and exactly how I ordered it. Refilled my water without asking along with breadsticks. Very professional and takes pride in his work area making sure it was clean and that everyone was doing well.
The parking lot was packed on Easter Sunday and we worried it would take a while to get in, but we had a table within a few minutes. I ordered vegan spaghetti and marinara and when the waiter came out with a beautifully non-vegan spaghetti and 5 cheese sauce dish, I was hesitant to ask them to remake it. As soon as I asked if the sauce had cheese in it, they realized the mistake and offered to remake it with no issues at all and it was out within a few minutes. Good food and great service!
Called a head and asked if there was waiting and how long. We were told there was no waiting and they said we could not leave our name. So we came with 5 adults and 4 children. All the 4 tops and five tops were seated before us. Then we were told they had tables but, did not have the staff. Waiters and waitresses. Then a partycamee on and asked whats the issue was because they called in really they dont take reservations according to them.we were told 45 minutes and I have been sitting for an hour and 10 minutes already. The host staff were rude and none communitive. Just standing arround. We still havent been sat.
Food was great! Had the grilled chicken margherita and it was delicious. My sister had eggplant parmigiana and it was delicious as well! Our server was attentive and the manager walked the floor making sure all were pleased with food and service. Masks are required except sitting at your booth/table, which we appreciated the care the restaurant staff took during our lunch.
Very disappointed with my dinner this evening. I ordered to go chicken Alfredo with a salad, wasnt asked dressing so I assumed it came with the house dressing which I received none. First upset and then went to eat a breadstick and it was hard and old. Next upset. Then went to open my Alfredo and it had the portion of pasta for a child. Not worth the $20 dinner.
Well the company was excellent! The waitresses were very kind and attentive. The atmosphere was nice. Bathrooms were clean but difficult to get to from where we were sitting. The food was hot and looked very nice on the plate. The bill for 6 adults and 4 young children was over $200.00. I thought that was a bit pricey but maybe I am just older and realize out to eat is a choice that most people do more often than what they should. Yes I will eat here again.
It was very nice there. Peaceful atmosphere. Youre allowed to split a meal and the portions even with the split were very large definitely worth the price you pay. There is even game stations at the tables. Be advised that there IS a charge to play it though. $1.99 plus tax to play. It also says unlimited but be aware that it resets after a certain time so you might want watch for that. Otherwise everything was amazing and I will definitely return again.
Staff were nice enough. Not properly educated on service. Didnt get bread plates. Had to use soup plates for our appetizers. Got a steak. Wait staff asked if I would cut into my steak to make sure it was done correctly. Had to use my butter knife. Didnt work so well...had to request a steak knife. At the end of the meal. No mints..not their best day.
Food was wonderful however our waitress was lacking. Overall I have this place 4 stars because I believe the wait staff could be better. I prefer a smile with my service and wouldve loved more attention to wither or not I was enjoying my meal. Gratuity for our meal wouldve been 16$ but we only left 6$ if that tells you anything. My husband is a waiter as well so I always tip good but not this time. Service was mediocre
I love this place! Took my husband there for his birthday lunch and was a little disappointed with our server. She was polite and all just didnt make sure we had refills on our drinks but other than that had a great lunch. Most Olive Gardens offer a free dessert but she didnt so maybe this one doesnt for birthdays. I cant wait for Jamie Lilly to return, shes the best server they have.
I had the pleasure of lunch with my wonderful mother in law Janet today. There was a gentleman there that came over while on his break to see how our meal and day was going. I believe he was the General Manager!! Upon learning that she was a working nurse, he Thanked her for her service during this pandemic!! He treated her to lunch on him!!We thanked him as well. You don’t see acts of kindness every day. This amazed me. Thanks for making our lunch more special!! Olive Garden is awesome!!! Thank you so much Sareen!
Our server was great and the food was fantastic! We always enjoy visiting this Olive Garden restaurant. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and shrimp carbonara... I had a few bites of it and it was excellent. I ordered the soup, salad and bread sticks as well as a slice of cheesecake with raspberry topping for dessert. Everything was fabulous!
Our server was Ali E. I took my kids to eat an early dinner, and she was very patient and attentive! Ali was on point with her steps of service, and was very helpful with any questions I had. She did an awesome job, and I wish all my experiences were like that, and friendly. Best server yet!
We dined at Olive Garden today and had server, Terra. She has a great personality and is so quick and efficient. The food was outstanding today too. The server didn’t hesitate to accommodate special requests either.I would be remiss if I didn’t mention another server, Tom. Although we didn’t sit in his section today I have to mention that he is always fun to be around and a great server too.Samir is the real deal, listens, and is very sincere in his response to compliments or complaints. Ask for one of these servers and you’ll be happy though.
Small family dinner. Quiet, food excellent, staff were friendly. Food served hot , delicious , breadsticks are complimentary as is the unlimited salad bowl . We had no complaints but the manager felt we had waited to long and gave us our appetizers on the house. Love going here. You can dress down or uo. Makes no difference. Prices are reasonable and children welcome.
So BAD, we all actually thought, we were on candid camera! That’s how bad it was! Worst service in my entire life, still waiting for someone to say, it was a joke! We were a party of four, two of us ordered “salad and soup”, others ordered main entree’s. First he brings us the soup, as we have eaten there plenty of times before. Normally, they always bring the salad and breadsticks first. I then asked about the salad THREE times, he then brings more soup. He finally brings the salad, then THREE times again for a refill for iced tea. We waited 55 minutes for the salad to arrive, basically the same time as we received the main course. I don’t know if this man was mentally challenged? He tried to put our left overs in a foam container, 3 times too small. We just watched him, trying to figure that he needed a larger container, trying not to smirk. Mind you, they have always had outstanding service, almost to the point of annoying. I don’t want to give his name, unfortunately we will not be back, at this Decatur location.
There food is always good, however time and time again the service has been horrible. This last time my boyfriend and I went to eat here it was down right bad. The server kept forgetting to give us refills on a drink and then completely put in the wrong order for my boyfriend. We didnt even get to eat together. The person serving us only checked in on us after the mistake of the wrong order, least then we did get refills.
Would give this location a negative if I could, it took 20 minutes for the salad with one olive to come. when it finally did the bread sticks were brown and hard as croutons you could ding a glass for a toast with them. the appetizer never came. I thought we were at chuckie cheese with the loud kid behind us all around horrible experience
The service is awesome and management is great! We waited about 15 minutes for our pasta refill and the manager was not happy about that so he discounted our bill even after we told him our service was fine and he did not have to do that. By discounted I mean a major discount! We will def be back .
Very rude managers and staff. I was put through 3 interviews for 1 position. And then because of my learning disability i was denied for the position I feel that it is wrong and I was treated poorly they didnt even give me the respect of calling me to let me know I didnt get the job they emailed me and said they didnt need me on their team I filed a discrimination lawsuit and Im waiting for the manager to be served I feel that it was wrong for them to deny me the right to have a job to support myself and my children due to a learning disability that I was born with so no I wouldnt recommend anyone eating or working at Olive garden Just all together a horrible Experience
I am writing this review too tell about my recent experience with a local Decatur il manager. She went above and beyond from a takeout review. I visited the store earlier this week for a take away order and upon arriving (at the specified time) food was not ready- so they offered me a complimentary soft drink while I waited. Good thing to offer on there part, was happy and not at all upset food wasnt ready. I proceed to wait and pay for my order. I had and order just under $40 and paid with a $100 bill. Not even thinking to check my change I left a $5 tip for my to go order for the customer service I received. I got home and inspected my order and receipt to make sure all was there, and at this time counted my change. Thats when I realized I was short about $15 from what the receipt said. So I contacted the store view instant review for takeout explained my situation, and worked with a Monica Dani, whom investigated this and offered me resolution. To be truthful I just chalked this up as a loss and was going to move on. Then to my surprise Monica emailed me and offered to send me a gist card to my home to make up for the incident. She did not need to do that and could have simply left me as an unhappy customer instead she made the situation into a favorable one and regained my patrionship to the local resturaunt
Every time we travel there. We always get stuck in the bar area. Ok, so its been a few weeks since Ive decided to eat at olive garden. Instead of going in and taking a chance of being brought over to the bar area. Ive decided to order online. That idea is a bad idea as well. They added a gratuity to the cost. I wasnt happy of giving any tip for a pick up order. Its like going to a burger king and tipping the cashier. I shouldnt have to be put in a position to give a tip for a pick up order. I thought that was rude and considered to me same as stealing. I am no longer going to deal with olive garden. Its like paying pizza hut when you order online.
Food good as always at OG, although sadly they still do not have a small portions menu. Just dont be in a hurry, long wait time during evenings. Call ahead does nothing, they just put you in the end of the list when you arrive. We still waited 40 mins even with a so called call ahead watching everyone seat that was in the waiting area. With young kids having a no reservation policy and fake call ahead seating just doesnt fly with us. Will probably not return to this location, as others are much more accommodating.
Just left your Olive Garden11/24/18. Braxton was an AMAZING server! Very attentive, on time with drinks etc. Will be asking for him next time we come!! Manager checked on us per usual. If anyone has a bad experience its them and they have ridiculous high expectations! Theyre those that just have to nag! Shame on themThank you OG again for another great experience! If its only 2 of us or all 6 with the kids the service and food is always GREAT! It was all 6 tonight. Tell Braxton the Zander fam in the lounge tonight said thank you please.
My card was charged $12 over our bill. Charged us for someone elses meal and alcohol. Of course that group left while I waited 19 minutes for the manager to talk to me. The other group got to leave paying our bill. He took off an app and margaritaShould have been free or I should have walked out since he left me waiting so long to even come talk to me
Went for lunch. Service was ok, host took minute to seat us as she was having a personal conversation. Food was good and typical for Olive Garden. Both of us got Soup, Salad, and breadsticks. For a reasonable price we refilled the breadsticks twice and i had two bowls of soup. The wine in the other hand was over priced. I have bought the wine that we were served, Roscato, and I can find it anywhere for $10 a bottle and it was $7 for one glass if thats what you want to call it with the limited amount they pour. Will certainly be visiting Olive Gardens in the future, will just avoid the wine.
Most of the food has no flavor terribly expensive and military must not be welcome cause there is no military/or veteran discount. On veterans day they do offer a free meal... Buuuut I wouldnt give that free meal to the dog its so bad just do a military discount and do away with the free horrible meal. Waitresses are cute and friendly so there is that 🤦
Went to Olive Gardem today for lunch and was waited on by the most AMAZING server ever!! Braxton has waited on me twice now on days where I just needed a smile and he made me smile the whole time. He is kind and pleasant to be around. As a bar tender and waitress its nice to have people who put their heart into the job and make each dining experience a lovely one! Thank you Braxton Bunch.
Just tried to call in an order for pick up. Got placed on a brief hold 3 times all exceeding 5 minutes. The second time I did not want put on hold and the worker Katie put me on hold mid sentence. Rude. Mind you it is 7:30pm on a Sunday. Not your typical rush hour if you ask me. Very disappointed. Fuji took my call and order the very first time I called. No hold.
Just walked out. Hostess sat us in bar booth and we waited 10 min while waitress handled other tables which wasnt a problem, but then she walked past us and didnt even look at us, we waited another 5 min and the hostess sat another couple at a booth 2 down from us and she got them right away . I ask for help and was ignored. We walked out and wontbe back.

5 Stars to our server from 3 days ago who stop to say he missed us and complemented my choice of pasta. Todays server was too distracted. No initial wine offering of wine, we had to ask for seconds on breadstick and never ending pasta. He took my drink to get a refill, didnt return with it until I asked and lost my straw.
I do not think that the food at Olive garden is very good it is so high calorie.I know they could make something else a little bit more lower calorie.not everyone in the world wants to overdose on carbs in one evening. Also the prices are OUTRAGEOUS! A plate is spaghetti should not cost more than a large steak. Do the math, its absurd.
I went Olive Garden Tuesday ordered me n my husband both the chicken n shrimp carbona which once again price have went up from 2 months ago second the serving are smaller less chicken and shrimp and very little sauce and it was not even good not worth it at all 43.00 dollars wasted
Some Olive Garden restaurants arent all that great, but this one has always been excellent. The Steak Gorgonzola Alfredo is to die for. The only time we had an issue they literally cooked us entirely new meals to send home with us, along with two salads and two orders of breadsticks. 5 stars, no doubt.
Always greeted nicely when you walk thru the door. To go orders are always walked through piece by piece to ensure accuracy. You can earn points ordering online for free items, which I have redeemed 3times in only 5months. My favorites are classic or spicey shrimp fritta, lasagna fritta, and zuppa tuscana soup. Lots to choose from. Salads are made fresh daily so are soups. Servers only have a maximum of 3-4 tables to ensure proper attention to each table.
My wife and I only eat at OG once or twice a year. I just think there are better options for me/us. And what happened to the soup Zuppa Toscana? I remember it being brothy soup, but it was creamy (and much thicker). The prices are higher than average, especially given that its Italian fare. Still, there were plenty of people there, so it must be a favorite for some.
I introduced my husband to Olive Garden over a yr. ago and he has since fallen for the Seafood Alfredo. We had recently went there for our 26th. anniversary. I had the trio. It was terrific. We go on bowling tournaments every year and this year we went to the Olive Garden in La Salle Peru, Illinois. We and all our guests that was the 3 teams all went and had a wonderful time great wait service and fantastic food. We plan on trying them wherever we go on vacation and or tournaments. Now the only problem we had with the day of our Anniversary was where we were seated, which was by the bar. We have Never set anywhere near the bar. We were not offered a wine sample or even asked if we wanted some. Our food was fantastic, but the server well. We usually leave a very nice tip....I will continue to go to Olive Garden, but We prefer to be in an area not near the bar or t.v. It was our Anniversary and well It felt like we were at home.Minus the cooking. My husband watches t.v. whyll he eats. Not very romantic. Any way that was the first time I had not bad service but not the best. Usually have terrific service. Wasnt even offered more salad or soup. We were however offered dessert.

2022-05-16Food is yummy I think no need to review Olive Garden food.Very clean, interior is little bit dark.Staff is very friendly. I love the way they greet. The way they take care of customers.Person who served food to us was very sweet. She kept checking us every 5 minutes to take our inputs. She asked me if I need extra soup! Which is really nice.My daughter loves breadstick and she refilled those.Good place to eat food. Don’t forget to tip them because what you give is what you get. (Respect) 😊👍

2022-06-04The lady that served us last night was very kind and caring. We are traveling from Michigan to Children’s Mercy in Kansas City for critical great grandson. We got there at 10:30p.m. Our food was delivered hot and fresh and she even made a fresh pot of coffee for us at that late time. Helped carry it out and offered prayers for our travels and baby. The manager was kind and helpful also.People like this give us hope for this world . Thank you. The Stewart’s from Ks

2022-07-10This a nice location to eat. Staff is nice, food is the usual fare etc. My beef (no pun intended) is with the sliced grilled chicken in the chicken Alfredo. Its NOT a chicken breast. It might be breast meat remnants or other white meat or it might be processed to appear like white meat but the consistency is that of a pressed patty and not a true unprocessed breast. They faked it pretty good but the texture is off.The flavor was fine but the texture was weird so went back and looked at the description on the menu and saw a non specific sliced grilled chicken and not grilled chicken breast. Ill still eat here again but Ill order shrimp like I generally do.

2022-07-07We drove over from Champaign this evening because our last dining experience with the Champaign Olive Garden was just awful! Were talking overly fried calamari that taste like rubber bands. Our appetizer consisted of burnt fried shrimp & vegetables, the soups were lukewarm and the main entree was not much better! So we drove down to Decatur, and our waitress Kat M. and the kitchen staff certainly made it worth the 40 minute drive! Kat was very personable, kind, attentive and just a wonderful waitress! Our appetizers were fried to perfection, our salad was crisp & delicious and our soups came out hot each round! Kudos to this location and their amazing staff! We WILL be back!

2022-04-14We dine here a lot. My grandsons favorite restaurant.. This was the worse food we have ever been served. Lettuce was wilted..breadsticks burned..hot donuts not done. I was compensated with a piece of cheesecake to take home. This was thoughtful gesture but did not make me feel better about a 100 check for below par food.Cathy Morrow-Downs

2022-05-21John B. was the best waiter I’ve ever had in my life. He was quick when we needed something, he was always making sure we had everything thing we needed, and the only bad part about this is that he can’t be the waiter that I have ever time I come here. Seriously give this man a raise, because whatever you’re giving him it’s not enough.

2021-06-20Went to Decatur Olive Garden for Father’s Day. Food and service was great, only got four stars due to the back room being so hot. Asked four times for them to increase the air flow. So if you go do not sit in the back room.

2022-04-15Thank you put somebody’s undone food in my to go order. Very appreciate it
