Octapharma Plasma in other cities:
Arrived at 5:53 pm for my second donation; the line was at the door, so I returned home (less than 15 minutes) and returned at 7:28 pm (they lock the doors at 7:30 pm). I was finally given a chair at 8:10 pm and a large woman of color wearing a tri-color wig proceeded to use my arm as a pin cushion: even though I had given her the advance warning that my vein rolls, she missed it; instead of admitting this, she continued to poke and prod like a dentist drilling for cavities. When I asked her to take the needle out, she asked, Really? Yes, really! Then, she replied that I was only getting $5.00; I replied, You can keep your $5.00! CSL pays less than OctaPharma, but at least the senior staff members are competent.
I recently took a trip to a music festival, funded completely by my octa card. Ive never had a bad experience at octapharma, employees are friendly, but the wait can be a real deal breaker sometimes. Dont come here to donate if youre in a hurry, or anywhere for that matter. I also never get thru trying to call the center. But i am digging the higher paying prices compared to last year.
Wait times for screening are ridiculous. Theres no need for screeners to get up, come out of their booth, look at the line, BS with other screeners, and call the next person 5 minutes later. No sense of urgency at screening. Im literally in and out of screening in under 3 minutes. Theres no excuse for it to be 10 minutes between people. Staffing is horrible. Whether its lack of personnel, or bad scheduling, its ridiculous. The staff that is out on the floor does their best to keep it moving, but with limited staff, wait times to even get seated are ridiculous. I was 5th in line last night, and it was a little over an hour before I even got sat, and waiting for a stick.
The pay decreased quite a bit. When Im due for my physical in about 6 weeks, Im going back to CSL plasma. Its much closer to where I live and takes much less time to get through the donation process, an hour there compared to 3 hours here, plus the long drive. If the pay goes back up, then Ill sacrifice the extra time and come back.
The staff they have now are very nice coming through the door Amanda help us with everything very great experience very different from when I stop coming in in January 2019 it was horrible but the the staff they have now are very in order I will keep coming this time around 😊
I always liked donteing here Never had a problem untill yesterday something happened were i started to bleed were the needle was stuck put my hand in the the air to get one of the workers attention the work that seen my hand up said o may gosh put your hand down we are not in school i said i am bleeding she would not let my say anything was very rude
The whole new donor part was awesome comprehensive and the staff put me at ease and talked me through the whole thing. Everyone was kind and even went above and beyond to make sure I had a really good experience. I would absolutely recommend! Everyone was friendly! They have a great rate for Refering a friend too! I had the best experience donating here.
Our facility nurse Ronda Lpn has always been so friendly and very professional with any situations I have had. Considering, Ronda and her team has also always made my visits a pleasurable experience. Octapharma has outstanding team members who work hard at being the very best at what they do. Thank you! Will Sr.
Place is a total joke. Inept people working there. Got stuck in the arm so they could draw a vial of blood and the guy who did it took the needle out of my arm and then looked at the vial and goes damnit I didnt let the vial get full. I have to go get another one. Vial was just maybe a quarter of the way filled. He came back and I told him we were done for the day and his response was Well ok whatever you want then, as if I were the one who had just totally botched the whole thing. No apology no nothing. Wouldnt go back if they paid me a $1,000 a bottle.
I love this place. The people are great up here and very respectful. They get you in quick as they can help with any issues you may have. Amy, Amber, Kayla, and Melissa were the total bomb when i came in today. Got me in stuck and flowing quick easy and painless lol not only great people but great conversations too to help keep your mind off the needle in your arm lol but recommend these guys to anyone.☺ and cant forget one my favs Vern one the best in the business☺
This is the most professional staff of any plasma donating facility I’ve been to and that includes Rock Island and Davenport. The staff is highly professional, and you feel as though they’re caring for you as they should. The staff doesn’t have off-topic conversations with each other across the floor and over your head, and I get the real sense that they enjoy working there. I definitely feel valued as a donor there.
I have been a blood donation guy for a very long time and didnt really know anything about plasma or its important uses. I learned a lot during my initial screening about how important plasma is so I now go twice a week for about 7 months now and have no plans to ever change my routine. The experience is easy and I enjoy sitting back and watching a movie on my phone while the donation happens. Its the most relaxing part of my day usually. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and there for you when you have questions. The staff has a great rela6with the many people that come in and often know them by name. Which makes the environment easy and casual. I love donating with OctaPharma!
I have had the best experience donating plasma here. Most of the time, I am in and out as quickly as one can possibly be for this process. The staff are super friendly and nice. It is overall a great environment. I enjoy donating here very much and will continue to donate here for as long as I possibly can.
Fernando is always there making your day better always has a smile on his face and just makes you wants to make you smile. He is the one I always want to stick me! You always see him buy and working never see him slacking someone who likes his job and people around him !!!!
Generally nice atmosphere and clean (although the bathrooms are hit or miss on cleanliness like most public bathrooms). Employees are generally kind and fun. My veins can be difficult to hit but they allow you to request the person you like to stick. Vern and Jeremiah are My favorites for hitting my veins but most of the employees are great. Gloves get changed often and employees are always willing to change them again in front of you if you ask. Set aside at least 2-2.5 hours for a visit although often it is less. There is no way to tell how busy it will be.
Went in as a new donor. While getting my physical I was caught in the middle of a quarrel betweeen the two nurses that were on duty. After the male nurse closed the door to finish my physical the female nurse opened the door and continued on with their argument. The male nurse finally finished my physical and walked me out to the bay. I sat there at least 20 minutes waiting to be stuck. They helped everyone else and looked over me! I had already been there 3 1/2 hours already so I needed to leave. They are very unprofessional there. I wouldn’t recommend
Good place when their slow if they get busy at all they have hard time keeping up and getting people through in a timely manner their attitudes go out the window as if a bad attitude makes it any better for us or them and they move with no since of urgency no matter how busy they are. Not to mention some of their new stickers are iffy at best they are so nervous and rushed you can feel the stress radiating from them. Come early in the AM or regret it.
I have donated With Octapharma for 3 YEARS This place has became trash. Today they told me my exspress pass wasnt good enough and i couldnt use it.. They kept the pass and sent me off to the end of the line WHEN I EARNED THAT PASS FROM AMY!!!!! Let alone when I was told I could trasfer to another center 3 hours away they sent me off like a goofy and didnt allow me to donate when I got there because they didnt take my type of plasma. This place is ridiculous anymore I am done after this week in going to CSL! Oh and if you got a letter from
Got my blood draw done for my protein it came back fine Sunday. On Monday I called and they said the doctor will be in to sign off so I can donate again well now its Thursday and still they have not completed it . I thought yall need ppl to donate but cant even be punctual on there end. And also most the staff are rude to donors. I swear everytime I go theres somebody rude to me like the day my machine was not set up correctly and my saline didnt go thru the machine, and it kept stopping detecting air in my finally return a lady came to look at it and walked away saying I was not her priority well im a donor and thats your job when something happens on yalls end so im giving a 1 star and hope yall try and be better workers
Kesha, Danielle, Maddy, and Patrice are the best employees there. They are always so helpful and lively. They always make my visit easy and painless. If you have small veins like me, Id recommend these ladies as well. Overall Octapharma is great place to come for easy money and laughs.
I get that they are short staffed as everyone is,, I dont see much if their management team out here helping them,, it took almost 45 minutes to stand in line and now waiting to get hooked up almost an hour and not even close to getting to this end,In third bay and still 6 ahead of me,And 10 after me.The $ is good butdont be in a hurry,
This is an extremely hit and miss place. There are a handful of really great folks there, but out of the 6 times Ive donated, 3 were blow outs. Keith and Vern stick without missing a beat and there are no issues. The other three times it was needless jabbing around. The thing about it is I inform them immediately hey, if you dont feel confident, please get someone else but they dont. Its not right when folks are being deferred because others dont know what theyre doing. The wait times here have gotten really bad, there are always plenty of staff but it seems like management isnt doing a very good job at managing where staff is. Its a circus of staff walking around trying to find out who is doing what. A better system needs to be in place. When youre sitting over 2 hours for $15, its not right. Ive heard the stories of not being paid but I guess I lucked out up until today, I entered the clinic at 11:30am, I was stuck at 2:00, a no flow occurred and by the time anyone noticed, a huge clot had formed, and no return possible. At 2:30 I was released and no, I wasnt paid. Its not right to treat people this way. Perhaps if Octopharma had better training and stressed the importance of quality work, there wouldnt be such a loss of profit by less thans and more funds available to pay higher rates. You say its competitive, $15 is not competitive when youre spending hours there.
Anyone leaving really bad reviews about the wait times simply doesnt understand exactly how much plasma this place processes. Honestly considering how busy it is they handle it pretty well. Dont forget that everyone feels like coming in right after they get off work. Try staffing a place where 90% of your customers come in within the span of 2-3 hours. Ive been donating twice a month for about a year (Twice a week might be unhealthy in the long term so Im playing it safe, less vein damage too) and have never had any bad experiences. I had minor bruising once but considering Ive been there 30+ times thats to be expected. They also have the highest compensation of any local centers for last time I checked (this might have changed though).
Fernando is a great worker. He doesnt hurt when he sticks. Vern , ricky and keith are great stickers too. You need more people like these 5 Ricky makes donating fun. Fernando is a great people person he talks to the donors. He is the reason why i ask him to stick me most of the time. I love all the staff members there they all are very nice and helpful. Brandy is a awesome person. She is always so friendly and helpful. Fernando makes donating fun. Fernando makes you laugh. Fernando is a great person.
Got skipped by 9 people causing it to take an extra 45 minutes. They have a horrible set up for waiting lines for the kiosks and the screen rooms. Some employees are skilled and hard workers. Some dont pay attention or seen to care possibly has something to do with their pay.
I donate twice a week and the staff are very nice and i highly recommend if u need extra cash on ur pocket this is the place to go. Stacey is one of the workers that screens and shes always asking me how my day is going. Shes a sweetheart. Shes one of my favorite as well. Also dekarla and patrice are my other favorite people who work here. Dekarla screens and patrice does both. They are all fantastic and i love them all. Thank you for all u guys do
Their was a little problem with me receiving the wrong amount and I called to get it fixed I talked to a lady the first time although she was nice and had great customer service she didnt get the job done. So I called back Henry was very helpful also great customer service and he got the job done!!!!! So once again Thank-you Henry:)
Krista and Dashayla are great screeners and offer the best customer service possible. Many of the long time donor employees are great. However, this center suffers from huge management issues, which are very noticeable, throughout each visit. Do not understand why corporate has not set up a permanent office at Octapharma Moline.
They have a new lab that doesn’t like to do the samples they take and I wasn’t even suppose to donate last week and did. But won’t let me donate this week even though it’s not my fault my samples haven’t got tested. I won’t be coming back cause I live almost an hour away and it’s not worth it to me anymore I’ll be going to another center that has it together
Called ahead and asked approximately how long new donor process takes. Staff member said no longer than 2 hours. I sat in line waiting for my physical for 2 and a half hours. Staff was rude and unprofessional. Bathrooms were disgusting and there was blood all over the waiting room floor. I will not be returning.
Blew out my arm on Friday, was able to muscle through the donation. Blew out both my arms today and was given 5$ for both mistakes they made! The manager “Henry” rolled his eyes at me, stared me up at down, and chuckled. Then saying, if I had a problem, to go talk to his boss tomorrow. Most unprofessional establishment in the QC. Staff members constantly growling, complaining about the people they work with. I would rather donate my liver than have them try to get Plasma out of me. An absolute trash business they run there.
Whats the story on the pay out ? If your payed 20 before you check it already getting charged.50 cents thats $19.50 then you check it to make sure you got payed because you got a 50/50/ chance at this place . Only find out you been charged $2.00 so now you got $17.50 you havent even walked out the door . Then you go to store to get .50 piece of bubble gum so you can ride home . To be charged $2.00 or $3.00 to take off ..$5.00 so when said done your $20.00 is $5.00 , if you try save it some how when you dont touch your money , it some how is gone bye your next donation. Im not the only one, I saved 30 or 40 only to wake up to it being some how gone , when you report it you talk to someone not even from American who cant even speak or understand the situation, an he was drunk to top it off !
Always kind of curious and try to get everything done as fast and friendly as possible and deal with more attitude than they need to because I got to deal with a lot of ignorant people that think its a job and that they are owed something and like its the employees fault because they cant donate or they get kicked out because of their attitude a Them poor workers got to deal with a lot of stuff they shouldnt have to thank you everyone
My experience was horrible as a donor and an employee. Twice I went to Justin who is one of the managers there and both times he didnt even acknowledge my presence when I obviously had an issue to discuss instead he told me once he had way too much he was already dealing with and to go to Henry another member of management. The second time he looked at me long enough to tell me to remove my lab coat and then again said go to Henry. The second time was an incident that spiraled out of control on my part I will admit because I was being belittled by a trainer in front of a donor, second occurance but a different employee this time. However management didnt try to do much to prevent any further altercations from happening. I was sent home and told not to return to work the next day but I did return only to pick up my belongings and move on without starting any trouble when here comes Justin one of the managers talking to me real disrespectfully in front of other employees and ultimately told me to never even think about donating there again. I told him I wasnt even considering donating there again and that Id rather go to CSL where I knew Id have much better luck with great customer service and not have to hear them degrade their employees in front of donors and coworkers. I also asked for the corporate office number twice and he refused to give it to me but I will be in contact with them. My advice to any one thinking of donating here is go to CSL Plasma in Rock Island or Davenport where you will be treated with much respect and the donor fees are better as well. Also CSL doesnt feel the need to put huge billboards up near Octapharma just to increase business. How sad
I have been coming here for quite some time. There is no since of standing in line for over 1-2 hours to donate. I donate for a cause and this place makes me want to go back to CSL in Davenport. Some of the workers leave their booths after every customer and there is usually only 1 worker. This is totally unacceptable.
My very first time here from the other plasma center. The pre all went till the stick , flow was grest right away, then down hill from there , 1 hour and 45 minutes on the stick, complained over and over, and tge techs just kept acting like no nig deal, i donate in 35 minutes at csl. Then there techs, were so rude, girl just took my arm a and I had to ask if that was it and how much, even though csl takes for ever. Their not rude, will give one more try to see if it was just a fluke, but by other responces, I dont think so.
My first 6 times donating was fine, my 7th time i had a horrible experience, i was able to feel the needle in my arm the whole time making me choke back tears as well as Nicole who stuck me just shoved the needle in my arm, my 8th time the girl was gentle and didnt hurt me putting the needle in but it hurt the 7th and 8th time getting saline and my cells returned. Now it hurts to move my arm, my whole arm tingles like its asleep the girl who removed the needle this last time just yanked it out causing even more pain. I understand my plasma helps people but i will never donate again if this is how i am gonna feel after donating. What kind of licensing is required for your employees to work in your facility? Seems to me like anyone can get a job there and stick needles in peoples arms but not have at least a cna license. If you cant stick a person right and you give them nerve damage or blow a vein then you shouldnt be working there. We will find out soon enough what was done to my veins and arm from my last 2 visits and what damage i have. From a friend who is a nurse that looked at my arm says a vein was blown and i probably have nerve damage from the needle going all the way through my veins
I donate from time to time for extra cash and they really have stepped up with tons of bonus drawings you can be included in and extra cash you can get every month for simply donating keesha is the bestp personto stick your arm you dont feel a thing and Decarla is very nice and right on point with the finger stick makes you feel great for helping donate plasma and getting money as well.
By far the worst plasma donating place iv ever been to. I have donated in 5 diffrent states and many diffrent donating facilities this is by far the worst. I put in for a transfer from one state to another and ive been waiting for two hours havent even seen the nurse i called my old place to see if they sent the transfer they sent it two minutes after it was requested im still sitting here two hours later. Also they stuck my wife in her vein sideways not very professional i guess they just hire anybody. I cant wait to go back to csl

2022-09-11Great staff and pleasant experience! They pay more than the other plasma center in town hence the longer wait times. Also theres a pretty lady named Shaneeka that usually works in booth 2. She always has a bright smile and makes everyone feel welcome there. 5 stars!!

2022-09-07Staff is good very friendly and helpful. Why I have 1 star is because of the payment you go and slash compensation by 20.00 basically saying f you to the donors. Pretty much saying your time is no longer valuable. This is especially so for the loyal donors. It makes it seem as if your trying to weed out the donors make the load a little less hectic. I know this is how a mass majority of the donors feel as we where blind sided by the change recently while waiting to donate.I understand that its a corporate issue but the management that addressed it was in no way sympathetic to the donors feelings about it.

2022-07-27Definitely a great experience, I highly recommend for anyone who would like to donate to help make medicines that help others in need, they got an excellent staff as well, to really make sure you understand how it all works, and all your payments are loaded on to a card they give you so thats awesome!! very friendly as well, I highly look forward to my next visit. Thank you all so muchYour new friend,Josh 😊😎

2022-06-17The service quality in Moline is terrible. No one is ever at front desk to assist. The staff in booths have to double duty for this. And, as usual, there is a long line. Same response every time,”we’re sorry. We are short staff. “ After hearing this the first 100 times, it gets really old!!! NO MORE EXCUSES! Management needs to MANAGE! It’s what you’re paid to do and not just hide in your office

2022-08-22Honestly. Most of the people are good. The kicker is that there isnt enough staff and some of the staff needs a little more training or to be held more accountable for their sticks. Ive donated 3x now. The first 2 went fine but this last go, I got a bad stick. My machine was the only one beeping in the center and it did so for almost a half hour without being checked on once. I had to flag someone down because it was getting uncomfortable. Apparently, it meant that there was no flow. I have great veins and have been told as such by every phlebotomist that Ive had to have stick me. It then took several times for them to wiggle the needle into the correct position. All in all it took me twice as long to go through the process due to the staffs negligence and now my arm is terribly bruised.

2022-05-24Almost all the staff is friendly. It says 2 hrs for new donors. It’s been almost 3 hrs! One nurse for the physical and she keeps skipping over me and taking everyone else!! The board has a physical side and a medical side. I understand medical goes first but there was 3 people after me on the physical side and she took the 3 first!

2022-09-06Update: I think one of the workers gotten confused on my sample to go back to donating (and thats understandable because I was as well , still am). Looking forward into coming back (hopefully).the whole point of going in was to take one simple and have them contact me back as soon as they got it. But, it wasnt the case. I had just called back today just to realize they have the sample and came out that I can go back and donate. Well, it came back and they just now telling me that oh is another sample that I got to take but the other sample I gave them came out that I can go back but I still cant donate because they didnt take another sample for something else but they couldnt tell what or why. Mistakes happen, yes. But how come I wasnt notified by this issue....

2022-09-08I’ve never had a problem donating before today. I’ve donated 3x before this. I am still technically part of the new donor program where you get the 100$ the first 7x in 35 days. I have not even hit 30 days. The new girl stuck the needle in wrong and infiltrated my vein. I had to have it rearranged just for it to not work and the pain to get worse. They had to stop the donation half way through because I obviously wasn’t getting any flow and was in pain. They told me I would get half of the 100$ for half of the donation. I didn’t get any money. And now my arm is swollen as hell and it was all for nothing.

2022-07-26Doing something good feels good. They may be busy on the days I go, but all the workers try to get everyone through in a timely manner. Thank you!
