I was pleasantly surprised at the service at the northern Illinois foot and ankle specialist. The receptionist doctors assistant as well as the doctor were all very helpful knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to me. I would definitely not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
This was a referral for me. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I was able to get an appointment scheduled in a timely manner. They have Saturday hours which is awesome. I was pleased that they we came up with a good plan for treatment that is non invasive.My only suggestion would be that it is time for an office renovation.
Friendly staff and environment. Doctor explained everything to my understanding. They make you comfortable. Wait time was very short
We were approx 20 minutes late as got lost locating the office. They were very gracious and took my husband anyway. Very pleasant and helpful people. Thankfully they have a chair lift as there are approx. 6-8 steps to walk down to offices. Again they helped my husband with a wheel chair.
The doctor I had was extremely nice however they just took all my money for treatments that did not work only made it worst.
Doctor Alm and staff are experienced and treat you like family. I have diabetic neuropathy, bad circulation, and arthritis in my legs and feet. I have been seeing doctor Alm for several years and I am very pleased with him and his staff.
The entire experience was awesome!Front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming.Dr. Wilson is simply amazing! His manorism and detailed explanation of his plan of treatment is excellent! Absolutely loved our experience and will definitely refer family and friends to NIF&AS.
Dr. Dickey has been taking great care of my feet for a year now. I have some unusually sore and deep callouses including one from an old abscess that never healed properly and has ongoing scar tissue buildup. She is very pleasant, professional, and thorough with her care, and I highly recommend her. My feet are so happy when I leave, I look forward to my next appointment. Thanks, Dr. Dickey!
Office personnel and staff were very friendly and helpful. The doctor was very friendly and informative. It’s a convenient location, facility is very clean and staff is very very friendly.
Dr. Thometz was very polite, understanding & caring. He took the time to explain the process of an ingrown toenail surgery. The staff was also very nice & friendly! I am so happy I was able to find this doctor and will continue going to him in the future!
Dr. Thometz was super knowledgeable and very patient. I had to have part or my nail removed, and he laid out the options I had that could be done in office and the pros and cons of each. During the procedure they did everything they could to make my experience as quick and painless as possible, and put me completely at ease. The hospitality of the staff at this company is phenomenal, and as long as I live here in northern Illinois they’re the only podiatrists I’ll ever work with.
He was thorough and very understanding. Accommodating to my needs and he listens to what you are saying. I want to keep him as my foot doctor. Very respectable towards me and my husband. He looks at you when he is talking and he looks at you when you are talking to him. Very respectable young man. Dr. John Thometz is an excellent doctor.

I did a google search for a podiatrist near me and after reading the reviews I scheduled an appointment. I was able to get in quickly, which was a relief. I was in a lot of pain and I have seen other doctors for my foot and ankle problems.I was treated kindly and with respect. The doctor listened to me and asked me a lot of questions. He did not dismiss me and explained why I was in pain and why the previous attempts and measures I was taking now were not helping me to heal. He took a lot of time to carefully explain my injuries and options. He gave me a shot and built an insert for my shoe and gave me a plan of action going forward. For the first time in 4 years, I felt heard and valued as a patient. I am so thankful Dr. Joseph Wilson is taking care of me. I will recommend him to everyone I can. To wake up and not be in excruciating pain is life changing. I feel like I will finally get my life back.
Dr. Alm is a highly qualified, very thorough physician, who at the same time is a very interesting and friendly man. He has used a variety of methods to check for neuropathy as well as overall foot health.It is a total pleasure for me to come to Northern Illinois foot and ankle specialists.
Dr Dickey is so gentle and she explains everything in detail. Staff are wonderful! Its like having a spa treatment when Dr Dickey works on my feet.
I go here because I like and trust Dr. Alm. He is very soft spoken, gentle and reassuring.I was back Monday, Dr Alm suggested we try some thing first before surgery. I like how he doesn’t start with surgery if he thinks something less evasive will work.
The staff here is wonderful! They have such a warm and understanding attitude. Dr Thometz is a great addition to this practice. I’ve taken my elderly mother to see him twice now, and can’t say enough good things.

I went in to see Dr. Dickey. She is very kind and compassionate. I would reccomend her to anyone who is suffering from foot pain. Dr. Dickey took her time with me and explained everything thoroughly. There werent any questions left for me. Im truly blessed to have found such an amazing podiatrist.
I started going to NIFA when Dr Esposito joined them, I followed him there after he performed my right bunion surgery. Hes a very good doctor, but I have to rate the whole practice. The Hinsdale Staff need assistance in making improvements in patient relations and customer service. For example, closing their office and not informing me, but they making the appointment on a day they normally close?? Strange, but thats only 1 example. I dont want to list all the logistics of improvements, but just say that Dr Esposito is an excellent doctor, great at giving painless shots and a thorough doctor. You wont be disappointed. Hopefully by then the practice has made their necessary improvements.
I was very pleased with Dr Esposito’s demeanor, his explanation &how to treat my condition. He is very pleasant and the end results was better than I thought it would be. I had no idea what was going to happen so I was pleased with Dr Esposito.
I have been waiting for my orthotics since September. They finally arrived last week. They are not correct. So I must wait again for my orthotics. My foot is in pain, as I wait for my orthotics. Dr Alm is wonderful. I appreciate all he does.
I greatly appreciated how the doctor took the time explain each detail of the X-ray and what it meant and where in my feet it was! He was very thorough and caring! He also was very knowledgeable!
The staff was friendly, Dr Thometz was knowledgeable and helpful. While it was only my first visit, I’m very comfortable returning for further treatment of my plantar fasciitis.
Short wait time, I have learned a lot in just three visits with Dr. Dickey mainly in regard to my circulation and that I can use compression socks which I bought and also she’s fitting me for diabetic shoes.

Dr. Dickey has treated me for hammertoe, installing surgical implants and removing a neuroma as well as making orthotics for comfortable walking. She is a consummate professional who patiently explains treatment options and surgical procedures, both pre- and post-operative. She has never rushed through an exam and always is respectful of my need to ask questions! I would recommend Dr. Dickey and Northern Illinois Foot and Ankle to anyone suffering from foot pain to seek solutions.
Great visit, very nice staff. I have been a patient of Dr. Espisito for over 12 years and he is one of the best in my opinion. Very impressed with NIFA!! Five stars to you all!

2022-04-04Dr. Thometz was very warm, caring, patient, understanding, and professional. He took the time to listen to all my the concerns I had regarding my feet. Also, he was very attentive, and pointed out areas of my feet that was of concern, that I had not mentioned. Additionally, he made sure that I knew all my options for treatment, and he took care of any issues he seen with my feet on the spot. So, overall, I would definitely recommend him to anyone with a foot or ankle issue.

2022-05-09The only problem I had were the three big shots and they were long in my big toe. But Dr Wilson was very nice and friendly and talk to me through it I was very nervous. Im just glad its all over. And I had no pain whatsoever afterwards like he said that I might. Just a little bruising like he said I would......
