Just want to give my man Mohamed in the fragrance/cologne dept a big endorsement shout-out been dealing with him a decade now & hes never let me down mothers day, fathers day, birthdays, anniversaries etc; always recommended great stuff along with great service thank you man!
I love Nordstrom, however, not so much this Michigan Ave location. The womens shoe department is very well stocked. I feel this specific location has the best selection of shoes, specifically high end brands, compared to all the other Nordstroms in Illinois. So, I am not a huge shopper by any means, but when I do decide to go shopping, it is to actually buy something specific. I decided to visit this location on a Monday around 3/4pm, I figured Mondays would be less busy and less of a wait for help, I thought wrong, I walked around the shoe dept for a good 20 min and rcvd ZERO help. Not even a hello. Majority of the employees were hanging out by the register either chatting amongst each other or on their phones. I ended up buying a pair of heels over in the gold coast. So much for using a double point day. Disappointing.
Janet at the Estee Lauder beauty counter is amazing. I had a makeup application appointment scheduled for several months and when I showed up, was told the lady I booked with was on vacation. I had a wedding to go to that evening so was scrambling a bit to find a way to get it done. Janet stepped up and knocked it out of the park. Im not a makeup person and she was very attentive to what I was looking for. Highly recommend going to see her if you need makeup tips, tricks, or application!
It had been a while since Id gone shopping at Nordstrom but I found myself in need of a new summer wardrobe and visited this past weekend.What an altogether pleasant experience. Pascha (sp?) greeted me as I was browsing shirts, asked me a few questions about what I was looking for and spent the next hour and a half making sure I was looking at the brands that would work with my dimensions (being a shorter guy). He was honest about what fit and what didnt, and was just great at making sure I made some great purchases.I have no idea why it took me so long to get back to Nordstrom, but they do things right. Ill be back soon.
The most variety and highest quality goods available at any Nordstrom in the general area. I remember back in college wandering this place with 20 friends. We were treated well even though we were probably a bit noisy.Real madness here during the Christmas holiday season but they handled the rush as well as can be expected.
Nordstrom has re-opened. However, they close at 7:00 PM everyday (reduced store hours), which seems disappointingly early for such a prominent store.Additionally, I went to the large Nordstrom entrance on Michigan Ave, and it was completely locked up. A small sign on the locked door simply said, Please use South Entrance, with an arrow pointing to the left. It did not give an address, intersection, or any other clue as to the location of the South Entrance. I finally found it at the intersection of Wabash Ave and Grand Ave.
I love Nordstrom and this location obviously is the biggest and best since it’s downtown. It has a vast variety of designer goods you can’t get at any other location. The staff is friendly and although it’s Chicago it doesn’t seem overly crowded. It’s easy access to the parking garage and entrances to Michigan ave. The pickup people are very helpful and friendly and were able to give me my order shortly after placing it, which I know doesn’t always happen, especially being busy. The woman I dealt with in the skincare section was so sweet and very complimenting and made me feel valued. Definitely a staple to Chicago
It was a ME day in Chicago yesterday I went into Nordstroms on Grand Ave and it was Amazing, went into Louis Vuitton dept. and some others and tried on a pair of New Simple Pumps 👠 and Loved them and those LV Bags Oh My!!! also seen several other things I want Im coming back to purchase on my Fabulous Shopping day Love ❤️ Chicago and all that it has to offer ❤️🔥👠👀👛👜🥻😍
I decided to write a review because I did not like how I felt after my experience on 18Feb22. I only purchase my cologne from Nordstrom and typically, I make online purchases because it is more convenient. I went in to return a bottle which surprisingly was not a good bottle although Mr.Tony pointed out the colognes were just delivered. Mr. Tony grabs the cologne from out the bag in my hand before I could explain what happened, Tony wanted me to know that there was nothing the store could do with the bottle and its best to know what I want before purchasing: it was the tone that bothered me the most. Wow! I just wondered did Tony make it a habit to explain this to other patrons. I was told on the 16th to see Henry, but he too was not very interested in whatever I needed. I did tell Mr. Tony, that perhaps I am sensitive, but I have never returned a cologne, but was always told it was okay if I did. When I left Mr. Tony did seem less annoyed, but frankly we must treat everyone the same. I do not think it necessary to wear a three piece suit for cologne shopping. I may return if Jose is there or just spend my money at another store location.
Spent an hour trying on several pairs of shoes only to learn we had to get a store credit card to get them because they were part of a “pre-sale”. We were willing to pay full price, but that wasn’t an option. Store cc or nothing. Signs said nothing about this. Nor did the sales person when we started trying on the shoes. What a waste of time!I am editing this post after the merchant replied. They apologized for the poor communication about their sale terms, but my complaint is about requiring customers to use their credit card to make a purchase during the sale. I was willing to pay full price. Whats also annoying is the pressure to sign up for their store credit card, which only makes money for the merchant if you dont pay the balance in full and then incur very high interest rates. I resent Nordstrom refusing to sell me full price merchandise because I wont sign up for their credit card.
I came to return a Burberry bag that I ordered online and the store manager did not accept my return. He said the bag is not in original condition. He showed me a mark but i think that mark is caused by wrap paper they put inside. I have never worn once or put anything inside to try on because the bag is too small.
Took in a dress to get it hemmed for an event. I informed them that I would need it at a certain time on a specific date and they assured me it was possible. Went in to pick it up at said date and time and it wasnt ready. Told me to wait 30 minutes. Clearly they just hemmed it in the 30 minutes I was waiting - hem was done with a very sloppy, uneven cut and sloppy, loose running stitch. A $200 dress ruined, just in time for the event.
Went to Nordstrom to look for a long gown. Found a few ok looking dresses in the corner of the store, with price tags of up tp 500.00 dollars. I do not know much about the name brands, so I wasnt too impressed. Then again, when my main wardrobe consists of leggings and t-shirts, shopping in stores such as Nordstrom is a waste of my time. On a positive note, Nordstrom floors are open spaces, where you can see a whole floor of products from the elevator.
Have shopped hard at Nordstrom for many many years and always loved the Michigan Ave store. Today was my first time back at this location in a good while, maybe about a good 3 years.. Wow how the vibe has changed at this store and not for the better. Just got an overall stuckup and unfriendly vibe, not what I’m used to experiencing at Nordstrom. You never have to twist my arm to shop especially at Nordstrom, but as far as this location this may have been my last time there. I think I will stick to Oakbrook and Old Orchard where I feel more welcome and get a better vibe.
DO NOT order from Norstrom.com. If you do, do not use their credit card. I had a package showing delivered that was not at my building. They would not file a claim with FedEx, would not provide proof that it was delivered at the correct address, and would not provide a refund or replacement. Since the charge was on my Nordstrom charge, I cannot dispute the charge. I have no choice but to pay for an item that I never received. Their only suggestion was to contact my police department. Not mention, you cannot talk to a person about the situation. All communications are done via email, with responses taking up to a week.
I used to love shopping in their womens department, they had a great buyer and I could always find something I loved. Today, I was looking forward to shopping only to learn they no longer have a plus size area and the staff only knew of one brand who carried my sizes. Unfortunately, the style did not match mine. Got ignored at the bar located at 2nd floor. So ready to shop but decided to go elsewhere.
I am disappointed in your company to find out that a staff member can not attend a funeral tomorrow. For your company to be highly respected you would treat your minority employee this way. How do you feel knowing your employee will be there serving the public but not allowed to pay respect to her family. You should be ashamed as family-oriented!
My brother gave me a $500 gift card for Normstrom. when I try to use the gift cards I discovered that it was used and I called customer service and sent an email to them and they refused to compensate me. I havent shared you gift card information at all. If their database was hacked it is their responsibility to compensate. Please look at attached email and gift card information. I hope corporate read this review and do the right thing.
I just LOVE this mall! It was walking distance from our hotel. Lots of great stores in this mall! My cousin needed some flip flops to board our flight the next day... so we stopped by to see what they had! It was the annual Anniversary sale so most of the items in the store were discounted. Sadly most of the things I wanted were unavailable in my size. Sad. Sigh. My cousin was able to find something...in a color similar to black and we were gone. The further you walk in the store the closer to heaven you are. All the designer shoes were in the back. My heart almost burst out my body! Huge shoe lover! Shoegasm! Excellent location and options! A must! The sales person was so helpful...even gave us recommendations for what to do on a Monday evening.❤
My family and I were in Chicago a few months ago for a mini vacation and our luggage was lost by the airport. So the next morning we had to go to Nordstroms in order to purchase things to wear. We ran into Horace and his service was absolutely phenomenal! He escorted us over the entire store in order to help us find something for my family of five. In the midst of all of this, he also told us about the city and popular attractions. Hands down one of the greatest experiences in a department store.
Super disappointed with my recent customer service experience for a return. I was returning a perfume thatmy husband didn’t like. The lady said she can’t return it because I used it. I have never had an issue retuning an item that I didn’t like or changed my mind. She said I need to go speak to somebody at the perfume counter. I even opened the box and showed the lady that the bottle is full. I chose Nordstrom over other retailers because of your customer service. This lady was unprofessional and also told me she’s a seasonal employee…clearly doesn’t know how Nordstrom works.
I went here for the Diors exclusive backstage services from Yelp and I did receive a makeover, however, I was not happy with the makeover that I received. The person who did mine put on six times as much makeup as I normally wear, and she used a style that was probably at least 20 years too young for me.This Nordstrom store is actually at the end of the mall.It is a multi-level store so be sure to check out the other floors, theres even a cafe on the second floor.The store is spacious and uncrowded with lots of employees who are eagerly waiting to help you.There is a huge makeup / fragrance department in the store I suggest if youre a female take the time to get a free makeover you might just discover your favorite new product.
I am sharing specifically about my experience with the alterations department. The women I’ve dealt with in this department have been lovely, which is why my review isn’t lower, but the man I dealt with today was extremely rude and unprofessional.I brought in a cocktail dress I bought online that I was hoping could be let out or have the zipper changed, with the understanding that a professional might take a look and say “there’s nothing I can do, it’s too small”. However, before I could even share what I was hoping for and acknowledge that I knew it was possible no one could help (sometimes too small is just too small I get it), the tailor starts grumpily telling me it’s too small and why did I buy the wrong size and barely will let me get a word in edgewise. Anyone who has ever tried to buy women’s clothing online knows: sizing isn’t standard. In fact, it can be downright bizarre! I do not deserve to be scolded because I bought a size I thought would fit and it didn’t. The woman at the sewing machine stood up for me as best she could, but being treated like that truly ruined my day.
My wife & I happened to be in the area without jackets & it was pretty cold & windy. So we rushed to Nordstrom to buy some jackets for us. It was a smooth purchase. The store is very well organized and distributed in multiple floors and has some good stuff on sale. I love my purchase experience at Nordstrom.
Shop online and save your time and the aggravation of going into this location. The customer service is getting worse by the day and the product assortment is often picked over at best. I used to love shopping and working here but unfortunately those days are long gone.
Meh. Nice setup. Bright, roomy. I didnt look the part maybe (workout shorts, t shirt and soaking wet from the rain. Walked past 3 employees and no one asked if they could help me. Finally asked someone where something was and he barely looked up at pointed across the store. Hey, I used to work retail, I get it...but cmon man. Anyway, made my purchases and left.
I will preface this by saying Im a long-time Nords cardholder and shop there frequently in my hometown. This Nordstrom was only nice in that the mens section was really a highlight (typically an under-appreciated section). The womens section on the other hand... terrible. It was a busy weekend but this store was just lacking a lot. But what I was mostly disappointed in was: NO inclusive sizing. I wanted to buy jeans with my plus-sized sister, and even brands like Madewell and Good American that preach inclusivity didnt come in sizes higher than a 31. What a terribly traumatic experience for someone who is just trying to buy new cute clothes. I felt awful for her and angry at Nordstrom for not doing better to ensure more inclusive collections.
This store was , awesome and clean with a friendly atmosphere! I got a pair of Gucci shoes, the sale person Leslie Stepan was so helpful and patience (my first time at this store, I was undecided on what shoes I wanted). Then I had a slice of cake from Brown Sugar Life is Sweet (in the front of the store) , the slice of Obama cake was delicious! Yes I would recommend going to this store, if you’re on Michigan Ave!
I was able to shop online for free curbside pickup.- I received an email when my order was ready.- Once I arrived, I clicked the Im here button in the email and gave them details about my car.- I receieved a call to confirm.- And less than 5 minutes later someone brought me my package.Very easy and simple to do. No confusion. I will definitely utilize this feature again.
AMAZING staff (especially Antoine and Jane in the mens shoe department)! I called looking for a replacement pair of my girlfriends favorite boots. All I had was a photo and a date purchased (2.5 years ago!) and they were able to recognize the shoes and give me their brand and name. I brought a bracelet in for repair in February 21 and have not received it yet. Finally 2 weeks ago Nordstrom called and the sale agent at David Yurman Andrea D. had no empathy after waiting 5 months for me and promised the bracelet would be sent FedEx for next day air on 7/14/21 and happily took my payment. Then I started wondering today where my bracelet was 2 weeks later called back in and found out it never got shipped. LOL Great customer service Nordstrom. The Manager today finally shipped it and provided a tracking number. I will never purchase Jewelry from here again.
Nordstrom has fallen off, period! Their footwear has been my focus, but you have to know when the supply comes in bc they dont stock up! Purses are another item. I use to love this store but the clothing is not the same for me. Maybe, they changed buyers or blame it on the pandemic. By the way, you’ll get a better deal online. Definitely, not the same shopping experience I use to have with them.
My reason for going was to have something to do with my dog...... and Duke was allowed into the store worth me! He was perfectly well behaved and everyone was very welcoming to him..... would highly recommend coming here! (Of course.... use your own judgement regarding how well your doggo would do....I realize not every dog is a good fit for a department store)Very well laid out store...... wish the accessories department was larger...... but I did find and purchase a very nice David Yurman ring and matching earrings.Overall.... kudos to Nordstrom!!
I must say that the customer service I received at this Nordstrom was all thanks to one of the managers who did everything he could to resolve an order of mine. Thanks to him and the assistance of associates/managers, I was able to get my situation fixed. I believe his name was Walker. Super patient, kind, relaxed, and determined to help and resolve my situation.I also want to point out the associates and manager who work for the men’s cologne department on the second floor. Also super kind and helpful people. Thank you
The employees were very well equipped to answer any questions we had. They were very polite and courteous. This store caters to several high end brands so u get to see them all under one roof. However, u will notice if you do go to the specialty stores of the brands, the prices are lower and more choices. Pros and cons ... as always just making a fair and honest comment.
OK I love this store. And when people tell you that retail stores aren’t necessary… Tell me do you really want to buy all your shoes and fashion on Amazon? I don’t think so. There’s some times when you need or want more customer service and you want to actually see what you’re purchasing before you buy it. Or are you just want to browse and even sample some of the perfumes or cosmetics. The legendary customer service at Nordstrom is on full display here.
We had a very nice shopping trip at this location. The sales associate in the watch and belt department was very nice and helpful. We ended up buying a belt, and came back to buy a watch with his help. He was busy, but still offered the salesmanship you would expect at a quality store.
This store looks very stunning and a decent place to do your shopping. What I also love about this place is their shoe section. I bought a lot of shoes here and I think almost all my shoes, I bought them here. They have lots of shoes that I truly love and I just bought 2 pairs again yesterday and they are very lovely and comfortable to wear.
We were shopping in mens department only. Very clean and organized store. A lot of room between clothing displays.The staff was amazing, and very helpful.Prices are high, but we all know that about this store. Shopping experience was excellent. We found what were looking for, and we are very happy with the quality of purchased items.Not everyone know that they offer free simple tailoring, hem adjustments, etc
Always a great shopping experience....their selection of mens shoes is unrivaled! The mens suits and sport jackets are very nice as well, but...they mainly cater to the thin young yuppie crowd. Im a 48 regular, so it is difficult to find a suit there that I like that fits me (I often have to order dress shirts online, as they dont kep much of a 17 neck 37 inch sleeve selection on hand). Unfortunately, Mens Wearhouse rarely carries what I like (very hit or miss). I dont work for Nordstrom, but theyre really missing out on the market for us bigger and older men who still want to look good in a suit.
Plenty of high end stores and designers. Definitely pricey but if youre into the brands they have it. The items here are not easily found on Amazon. Shoes, clothes, perfume, colognes, scarves, makeup can all be found here to name a few. Customer service is very good.
Nordstrom reminds me once again that they are the peak of customer service experience.When I get to the counter to pick up my wifes present and explain that Ive just snuck out of the house to get it and am in a hurry, the woman there immediately drops what she is doing and saves my butt by wrapping it in the spot.This made my day, despite the unhelpful person posted up at the entrance, who apparently is only a, Louis Vuitton employee, and cant really help with anything Nordstrom related...
Its always a treat going to Nordstrom for my annual fragrance purchase. The energy there is always great! The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable about different fragrances. Sometimes Im not sure what I want. The anniversary sale is my favorite time of the year to shop for fragrances!
My first time shopping for dresses at this location, love the big selections they have lots of options to choose from and the helpful employees are just a another perk. Very friendly and accommodating and honest . I love this store in general and now Definitely the go to now for my special occasions.
What I love most about this store is the atmosphere, the architecture, and designs are really amazing and stunning. If you want to go somewhere to unwind, relax and enjoy shopping I think this place the best for you. They have lots of chairs or sofas or couches around to sit on and feel relaxed. They have lots of products to choose from especially the clothes.
Always have a positive experience at Nordstrom but this time was extra special. Was looking for a skin care product and had the most wonderful associate help me. Her name was Jan at the omorovicza line. She was most helpful and very knowledgeable on the line. Cant wait to go back and shop. Thank you.
This place is really cool. They had a bunch of stuff you cant find anywhere else. People in reviews like to compare it to hottopic but I found it more original. My husband found a back to the future wallet he was stoked about and my 13 year old actually enjoyed looking around (shes super hard to please sometimes). If your in the area and want to shop around dont leave out this place.
I love Nordstrom. I have spent too much money at this location and others throughout the Chicagoland area over the years. However, the one in River North Ive found leaves in some cases much to be desired in terms of customer service. I had one experience a few months ago that stands out.My friend and I were shopping for shoes. He was looking for a pair not only for himself but for his sister as well. We were in the womens shoes department when we were approached by a salesman. He seemed quiet annoyed that we were there. Being young I am used to the attitude I receive when shopping. This man brought it to a new level though. After very rudely asking why two men were in the womens shoes section he asked if we wanted to try anything on. My friend asked for a certain pair of shoes to see if they would be an ideal purchase for his sisters birthday. The salesman was very quick to go to the back and bring them out. My friend took a closer look and compared the shoe and its size to his foot (His sister and him have very similar sized feet). Upon thinking about it for a few seconds my friend said he appreciated the help but they just werent what he was looking for. Ya what a surprise...I figured as much. This was the salesmans response. He shoved the shoes very aggressively back into the box and walked away. I understand that a certain percentage of their compensation is based on commission. This doesnt give you the right though to be out right rude and disrespectful to people.Sorry about the long story. The short of the long of it is, I go to Nordstrom because of the customer service. I value that aspect of a business as I have worked in customer service myself for many years. I do not appreciate the attitude we received by this one salesman. However, overall this Nordstrom has great employees otherwise and I havent had a problem since. The store has a bar inside that is well stocked with options. The overall look and feel of the location is great and there are 9/10 very helpful people around to assist you.
This place is eclectic. It is a large store full of fun finds ranging from cute clothing with unique fun statements to socks, posters and weird wild shoes. The store is a bit expensive, but it is located in a very popular part of town. I would advise vistors to first taken in the wonderful graffiti paintings on the outside of the store/strip mall before taking in the store itself. This store is fun for young and old alike.
Weird to visit, even accounting for the pandemic situation. Obviously expensive, but maybe too much so. Also, a significant part of the store was set up as a makeshift online order fulfillment center. Just not the atmosphere or experience that I would have expected from this location.
Linette in the mens department is the most amazing sales person ever. She really knows her mens fashion and went above and beyond in helping me find the perfect white shirt for a special occasion. I love Nordstrom and Im happy to say theyve got some amazing people to provide exemplary service!
Great customer service!!!I just came from that store at State Street starting with the letter M and returned a suit that they have been trying to fit me and altered for the fourth time. Unfortunately, the type of the suit does not fit my body style. I pass by Nordstrom just to check things out. A gentlemen approached me and told me that my size is in the other corner. I was like, really?He then proceed and showed me a nice blue suit but the price is above my price range. I tried it on and he left. He came back a few minutes later and asked what type of suit I am looking for? I told him black just like John Wicks suit. He showed me a black suit, tried it on, and he told me the things that needed adjustments. He was very knowledgeable on what he sells. I bought the suit and a week later I picked it up, tried it on and it fits like a glove. Love it! In return for his patience and help, I brought him a nice bottle of Pinot Noir. You can tell a person when they work from the heart and not from the pocket. Thank you again Mr. Larry Smiley. Love my suit.
Simply the best. Even stores that may be perceived as “higher end” (like Sak’s or Neiman) don’t compare to Nordstrom when it comes to customer service and shopping experience. The store is always clean and orderly, even on the busiest of days, and the staff is always friendly. Another plus is the staff at Nordstrom is always friendly but never pushy or smothering. They offer just the right amount of assistance for each individual customer.
One of the most popular department stores in Chicago and with good reason. An excellent range of products and well displayed. The women’s shoe department was a highlight for me because it is extremely well organized and well run. Marc served me and was extremely efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. The cosmetics and perfume selection is also worth a look.
One of my favorite Nordstrom stores in the United States for many reasons! The men’s department has a full service bar on the 2nd floor! The clothes are beautiful and they have a variety of sizes to be more helpful and convenient. I also like the shoe department which has many designers and styles to choose from. Now, I do have a complaint so the store isn’t perfect. There is a stand alone, I believe on the top floor and the 3 girls working it were dancing and goofing around and not paying any attention to the customers. They were talking about their plans for the evening instead of waiting on customers, actually ignoring them on purpose, unprofessional to say the least. The designer purse department has some “stuffy” people working it. I mean, it may be expensive but it’s just a purse. It’s a shame when I can find a purse, but the attitude and them also talking amongst each other instead of the customers was a turn off. A couple of retraining sessions for even seasoned employees would really bring this place back to what it once was.
Had trouble getting help purchasing items. In all fairness to the staff it was a Saturday and they were jammed packed. The place in general looked very put together and all of the staff was hustling. I could not find one person who was available. Some of the staff was helping 3 plus people at a time. The brands that you had to choose from where all luxury and all well displayed. I definitely would suggest going here if you want a luxury shopping spree in Chicago .
We just walked trough the Nordstrom to look for Delina, but Mohamed A. gave us a superb service and advised with the best perfure we ever tasted. Once we were back home, we found some testers and a lot stuff added in a shopping bag. I will come again to say thanks to that guy.
I visited the Nordstrom Chicago store earlier today and was actually looking for the promoter of one of the brands in the cosmetics department. I stood around the display shelf area hoping someone would care to assist me but was totally ignored by the few ladies who were around the area the whole time. Finally, I had to approach one of them and her attitude and answers to my questions were not very forthcoming, certainly cold at best. Sensing her condescending attitude, I decided to leave as I felt I was not really receiving much assistance from her.On the way out, I passed a promoter from another brand and she was friendly and nice enough to ask if I needed help. Hence I asked her if the promoter for the other brand that I was interested in would be around soon and she took the trouble to check. I was informed that the promoter would be around in about an hour or two.The first lady I spoke to with a service attitude which could definitely be improved was an older lady who made me feel that it was beneath her to serve me. I strongly suggest that if she is so jaded and selective of whom she wants to serve, perhaps it is time for her to consider doing something else in another job instead of spoiling the shopping experience for Nordstrom’s customers. We have a choice of stores where we can spend our money and today’s experience at Nordstrom Chicago was certainly a bad one!
I typically just follow my wife around and hold her bags, but the staff is always so accommodating with an amazing selection of goods. The prices are what they are, but the quality cannot be questioned. We make a note to stop by and poke around the shoe department every time we go to the city.
These five stars go to the gentlemen in the mens department who polish shoes/boots, as well as Giselle in Christian Dior cosmetics. The gentlemen who shine shoes are some of the most industrious and customer-service oriented people in the retail industry I have ever had the pleasure of coming across. My boots/shoes look brand new after they polish and shine them, and I have gone to other shoe shiners before. I will say, though, that the lighting is really hot and it was a bit uncomfortable sitting in the chairs while I got my shoes polished. My only recommendation would be to adjust the lighting so its not so bright. If I felt that way after a few minutes, I can only imagine what it feels like working there! As for Giselle in Christian Dior cosmetics - she is the absolute best when it comes to her knowledge of various cosmetic products and makeup application. I have had my makeup professionally done in L.A. and D.C. and she blows the other cosmetologists out of the water! Not only is her makeup impeccable, but she has an uncanny ability to recommend products that match your skin tone and suit your style. My mother and I both had our makeup done by her and were thoroughly impressed. I really hope Nordstrom takes notice and values these employees, as they come few and far between!
The staff at Nordstrom has always been nice and attentive, but our experience today was unbelievable! I can never get my husband to shop, but somehow got him to their Anniversary Sale and we lucked into the BEST Personal Stylist with Robert Raffeld! He gave some great recommendations and really knew brands that fit the best and were the most flattering! If youre looking for anything in mens clothing and shoes, see him!!!!
I love this store for some stuff.Fragrances: Amazing!!! Tom Ford, Parfums de Marly and Jo Malone. They dont have Creed or Serge Lutens. Otherwise they have incredible customer service.Clothes and shoes: havent had a good luck here.. They have limited selections I feel.. Or I just havent found appropriate stuff here..People and staff are super nice in the this store.
I try to shop here about every 6 months and for some reason I keep expecting it to be different; it never is. This is probably my least favorite Nordstrom as I never seem to get the Nordstrom experience here. I always have to hunt someone down to be rung up. I never seem to be greeted or offered a hand. The only plus to this place (beyond location), is the bar on the second floor for my companion to hangout at while I shop.
Ive never been crazy about this location, it seems like the ones in the suburbs, like Oakbrook and Old Orchard have a much bigger selection, plus theyre bigger and the customer service is more helpful and friendly. Ive never found the clerks here as knowledgeable or eager to go the extra mile like the other ones I mentioned. This is just a store I go to look and see what they have and then go out to the suburbs to buy. Just my own opinion on this one!
Nordstrom used to stand for something. The service was outstanding. Nowadays the sales associate is more interested in following up on the latest gossip than developing a new relationship with a potential customer. Dont blame the online services, blame the lack of desire to learn and execute good service.
I love Nordstrom! While sure some things can be a bit on the higher end of the spectrum, you can certainly find great deals. Plus some products are worth the extra money if your skin is as sensitive as mine. My go to products for skincare is definitely the Clarins brand.
As a plus size girl, Nordstrom is a 1 stop shop for all I need. From a great assorted plus size section to an amazing shoe section with stretching for most shoes (wide feet/calves). Im never disappointed that I didnt find what I need. Although it is a bit pricey, everything is good quality and durable. Most things I get there last years!
We had an AMAZING experience in the mens department with Larry. A TRUE professional! It is quite evident that he loves what he does. He was our personal shopper for the day and was able to dress my husband from head to toe for an event we had that evening. Larry is superb! He is quite an asset for Nordstrom Chicago.
If Nordstrom carries what I’m looking for, I will always buy it from this location vs any other location or retailer. The staff is always inviting and helpful, yet not pushy. You can tell they don’t just hire anyone. Their customer service is out of this world, and they will even eat costs to keep you happy.
Large selection of ladies clothing. During the Anniversary Sale, there were plenty of sizes available and inventory was well organized. Service was not up to typical Nordstrom standards; it was impossible to find help in the dressing room and difficult to find a salesperson to check out.
Cafe Nordstrom has some of the worst service! The young lady at the register with twists in her hair was one of the worst people. Absolutely should not be working at the register because her customer service was horrible! On top of the bad customer service from her, we were given a dirty cup for our drinks! You could literally see someone else’s lip imprint on the glass! I’m highly disappointed!!
5 months ago my boyfriend purchased a suit from Nordstrom and while he was at work, the pants ripped We were shocked because we are quite familiar with the usual upstanding quality of Nordstrom clothing. We went to the mens section to return the pants because the rip was clearly not fixable. We spoke to one representative who said, Oh, its time for a new suit. Here is a card for a reweaver. I was appalled at the lack of care, concern, and customer service. I am familiar with the return and exchange policy and I asked if there was anything he could do to replace the pants and he said no. We will not be shopping here again
I ordered something online using corporate email and corporate card which I don’t have accessanymore. The manager Elizabeth didn’t help me at all and when I was askingher to try some other ways to look up the purchase, she sharply responded me thatshe doesn’t want to lose customers that want to buy stuff and she doesn’t have time tohelp me. I’m not used to attitudes like this and as a customer who have spent thousands ofdollars in this store I deserve respect.
Worst customer service I have ever encountered in my life. The Chanel people- amazing! The Jo Malone guy- wonderful! The Dior makeup crew- professional and talented. HOWEVER the tall, semi bald man running around the perfume department like he owns Nordstrom- rude, ill-informed, and a poor representation of the store. He came up to me, and my mother while we were standing by the Hermes counter and spoke to us with a condescending snarky attitude. Mind you this was after we bought about $2500 worth of items. Will be returning everything this week. I will not ever be coming back,life is too short and there are way toooo many options in todays ever growing global retail world to be bothered by a poorly managed store.Nordstrom shares are pummeling for a number of reasons; can you guys really afford to be rude to the people who still grace your stores?
Cosmetics department, Clairns rep Alina was wonderful. I needed advice in finding a foundation and blush that matched my skin tone. Along with concealer. Explained the supreme quality of the Clairns line. And even showed me how to apply properly. included complimentary makeover. I definitely felt special all day !! Thank you so much.
Amanda was a great lady who helped me with buying my shoes. I had horrible decision issue and she tried to help me decide. Though I didnt buy anything there, but it was a good shopping experience. Nordstrom has quite a lot of styles to choose from. However, the size seems to run out pretty often.
Not the best Nordstrom store we have been to in terms of customer service (customer service was outstanding in the Seattle Nordstrom). The one guy that helped us in the womens shoe department (I forget his name - maybe his name was Tony, hes an older gentleman) was not very helpful and actually came across more as a sleezy salesperson. The womens handbag section was also very limited. But overall, I still love Nordstrom in general and will be back to other Nordstrom stores

2022-07-16To Whom it may concern my name is Lisa and I visited this location with my two Daughters and my son this is the Frist time I visited this location. My frist stop was the make up Both that caught my eye. I was Greeted by a Gentleman I asked him how much will it cost to get my Daughters face made up. I was explaining to him I wanted to get my daughters face made up for prom and I wanted to see how she will look because we was looking for someone to do her makeup for prom he brushed me off real quick and say you have to make an appointment or you have to ask one of the ladies are they available. Real snotty but I took it on myself to go over and ask myself. I walk up to a Young lady Name Stephanie very Pleasant and kind I explained to her my situation she told me she had an appointment that was coming but she will do the basic for my Daughter I said ok. when I tell you Stephanie was extraordinary, patient and Kind. While she was applying the make up on my daughters face she was explaining to her certain products and what she was applying on to the face that what took the cake this young lady was on her business.And most of all this lip gloss was on point.. Stephanie Thank you for your extraordinary Customer service. My Daughter Julissa was looking amazing. We will be visiting you again on June the 3rd.......

2022-03-28Came in to do some Christmas shopping and our experience was better than expected. Everyone was so helpful and the store was very clean with hand sanitizer available through the store. So glad we came here today. The store felt festive, love all the Christmas decorations.

Grant was the associate who assisted me and I was well pleased with how good his customer service skills were. He is very knowledgeable of the products and provided me with the foot graph service which he then was able to determine the exact arch and shoe supports I needed.

2022-03-28The store has consolidated the Mens department into the building that the womens is in. Its not bad at all. It has that familiar feeling as if you were in the other department. However it has awesome views of the outside on the 6th floor (see uploaded pics) and I can see where tourists would come in and want a picture in front of it at this time of year.

2022-04-13Poor customer service experience. Absolutely NO ONE greeted me, I was completely ignored along with another customer. Waited patiently for about 20 minutes until I had to find someone to help me. Probably because I wasnt dressed in pretentious designer clothes that day.

2022-05-12I love Nordstrom and shop here all the time (mostly online). Today I was in the area and decided to stop in to shop at this location for shoes but unfortunately not one sales associate spoke to me nor asked if I needed any help. Matter of fact, the young lady who was working in the Louboutin section, walked right past me to help two men that came in. I guess I was invisible. I even lingered around to see if she or any sales associate would ask if I needed help but it didnt happen. This really left a bad taste about spending my money in this store.I walked over to where the Gucci handbags are and security guard greeted me and the sales associate Jose was awesome...thats the reason for the two stars. I would leave more but I was very disappointed in the lack of service I received in the shoe department.

2022-07-04One of our favorite store along Magnificent Mile in downtown Chicago. More high end goods. Got myself 2 pairs of Cole Hann shoes. Quite convenient for us as our apartment is just across the street.
