Very professional sales staff, totally relaxed atmosphere, and a wide selection of top guitar brands (and amps) at competitive prices - acoustic, electric, both new and used. Right in Naperville, ask for Johnny, he will set you up with whatever you are looking for, within your price range and skill level.
I came to buy a Yamaha acoustic piano. The salesman, Nate Swygert, gave me all the time I wanted to play all the pianos uninterrupted. And I took my time! He was knowlegeable and well-informed, but never pushy. He listened to what I wanted in terms of the sound, how I play, the room the piano will be in, etc. I couldnt have had a better experience!
I was extremely happy with shopping at Naperville Music, and specifically my assistance from Nathan. I am physically disabled, but at the time I was to go in, we found that our car battery was dead, so things were set to be even more difficult. I was sure which piano/cost I could do, and with a store sale the store came significantly less in cost, and Nate assisted in getting a stool that would accommodate my weight. Everything was easier than I could have expected and I not only trusted Nate, I believed in him. Nathan even played the piano for me, and sent it in a video and included pictures. He was very professional and it was a very reasonable priced delivery. I wish I could buy a piano every week, but the one I got, is perfect in all so many ways, there would be absolutely no need. Thanks for the great service!!! We recommend you highly! Our best,Ann M Garvey, Sandwich, IL
They were wonderful with helping us pick out a tenor sax that was appropriate for the level of music and our price range. The payment plan was easy and affordable. Below is a picture of my daughter with The Western Michigan University Marching Broncos! Thank you Naperville Music!!!
The entire staff at Naperville Music is professional in every aspect of their work. I Want to especially thank Johnny (the guitar guru) and Nate for their exceptional customer service. They are devoted to helping customers achieve finding the instrument that works best for them. I have and will continue to recommend Naperville Music to all my music friends.
I am completely happy with my purchase of the Yamaha Arius YDB163B. I expected that. But I am also very pleased with the service from Naperville Music. First, they had the piano in stock. Then, even though I could have driven to the store, I splurged on delivery. We’ll, it turned out not to be just delivery, but delivery to my second floor condo AND assembly of the piano. Watching the work of two experienced technicians, I would guess that it would have taken me about three hours on my own. Then a little instruction, and off they went, along with all of the packing materials. Delivery was worth every penny!
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Nate is a piano expert who introduced us a group of options when we came to purchase a piano for the first time. The entire process was smooth, friendly and informative. They offered paid delivery service as well. The delivery team handled the piano like a baby. A five start crew and service.
I wouldnt want to go anywhere else after the incredible service and I received from this store. Johnny and the staff are not only about helping customers leave the store happy but they are the most honest people that I have ever talked to. Im very happy with my Rickenbacker 350 and I also purchased the case for my Fender Telecaster as well. I have dealt with sales people from different stores 4 years along with sales people when it came to buy in the car and I have to say Johnny and this staff were the best I have ever encountered anywhere when making a purchase on something. I highly recommend this music store.
This is a great music store! The store is well lit, organized and has a nice inventory. My interest was a Yamaha digital piano and I was able to try a number of different models. All the staff was great, but working with Nate was a real delight. He very patiently and helpfully let me try out the pianos, played a few for me and answered my questions. He was attentive, but not pushy. After some other experiences at other stores this was very refreshing. I am very happy with my purchase and if Im ever looking for another piano my first stop will be to see Nate at Naperville Music! I highly recommend them!
I had a great experience purchasing a piano from Naperville Music. The price quoted was very competitive, and delivery was fast and painless. There is nothing to complain about. The sales representative I worked with was Nate, and he assisted me through the entire sales/delivery process without issue. Shop here, rather than online or with other stores if you are looking for a piano. They also have lessons, with the first free which is a great additional service.
I ordered a Rickenbacker 330 for my wife. Due to Covid 19 and other factory production factors the Rickenbacker took almost a year to get. Naperville Music kept me in the loop and would give me progress reports. The 330 took time to get, but it was well worth it. I saved hundreds, that’s right, hundreds of dollars compared to other stores. The wait was well worth it. The people at Naperville Music were always so nice, polite and professional that it was a great experience buying a guitar from them. I will certainly buy from Naperville Music in the future. When the guitar arrived Naperville Music didn’t even open the box and let me be the one to open it. I didn’t and let my wife have the honors, which in itself was a tad nerve racking. She opened the box to a perfect 330. Thanks Naperville Music.
We purchased an acoustic guitar from Johnny B for my son’s school instrument in high school band. Johnny is very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to guitars. Often we buy replacement strings there snd have had an electric guitar serviced . All of the staff is courteous and helpful. This place is great, a small business with individualized customer service !!
Love this place! Rented instruments there when my kids were younger. When I finally decided to learn guitar (middle-age crisis?), I took lessons for several months prior to Covid, via video during the early part, and back in-person at the new studios later. Michael C. was an awesome instructor and Nathan was always great in coordinating schedules and dealing with my pesky beginner questions! I recommend this place highly for both youth and adult learning, along with guitar repair!
I just purchased an upright piano from Nate at Naperville Music, and had a perfect experience. He guided me toward the right piano for me, located it quickly, setup the delivery, and kept me informed throughout the entire process. It was just delivered, and everything went very smoothly. I would highly recommend Naperville Music to anyone in the market for instruments, lessons, and guidance!
My wife and I had planned a weekend getaway to Chicago. On a whim Saturday morning, she looked to see if there were any music stores close to the area we were staying and came across Naperville Music. She was interested in a Yamaha digital piano and I went along for the ride. We were immediately impressed with the store. The sales people were friendly and knowledgeable. While she was checking out the digital pianos, I wandered into the acoustic guitar room. I have always had a desire to own a nylon string guitar and with zero pressure from the sales person I was left alone to play. I was drawn to the Taylor Academy nylon string guitar. Something about the sound quality, ease of playing, and simplicity of the guitar enticed me. The following week, after learning more about this guitar, I decided this was the next guitar I wanted to own. I may have been able to locate this guitar closer to home, but I so enjoyed the experience of Naperville Music that I decided to buy from them. I talked to Rich on the phone and he said he could ship it to me, but we were so drawn to Naperville Music, that the following Saturday my wife and I made the 4 hour trip from Iowa to buy “my” guitar. As former business owners we can appreciate a first class operation with great customer service and that is what we found with Rich and his staff at Naperville Music. It is a magical music store and well worth the drive.
Customer Service. What a novel idea. Nate, the guitar tech, there guitar sales staff are all great and knowledgeable! If you like to touch and feel the instruments you are buying in a friendly and supportive atmosphere, this is the place to go. Do not purchase a musical instrument unless you play it, touch it and talk to someone first. I am sure you will find something you did not think of and you will end up with a much better instrument then what you thought you would have to begin with.
Could not be happier with the purchase of my Breedlove guitar. I phoned first and spoke to Johnny. About an hour later, I arrived to meet Johnny and he was so nice and helpful. Every question answered. If you are looking for a guitar, you will receive amazing customer service. Tell Johnny what you are looking for and he will set you up.
We have recently purchased a digital piano from Naperville Music. The staff and manager are very friendly and helpful. They are very knowledgeable and honestly list out pros and cons of different models to try to meet our needs They never pressure us to make an immediate purchase which I appreciate. I will definitely recommend friends to purchase from this store.
We are very satisfied with Naperville Music and their teachers, the studio is friendly and inviting, my grandson has made a lot of progress within the past 2 years. Recently he is taking piano lessons with Denis, he had only a few lessons but we can already see a great improvement. Denis is a great teacher. We will continue to recommend the studio.
I dont know how this place has a bad review. I was a Steinway looking at self-playing pianos and while cool, just couldnt imagine spending $120K for a piano. We decided to check out some other places so decided to head to Naperville music. Met a guy named Nate and couldnt be happier. His communication has been excellent, much better than Steinway! He is responsive and has been more than helpful. Truly wish you guys the best, your customer service is hands down the best Ive ever seen. Keep doing what youre doing!
I purchased a Prodigy/Piano Disc system from Naperville Music in the fall of 2018. Since I live in VA they had to arrange to transfer the sale and installation to a local business. Nate was able to make all of the arrangements and we had the installation done by Jeremy. Jeremy did an exceptional job and came back to make necessary adjustments in a timely manner. I highly recommend the system and Naperville Music. Our piano sounds fabulous!!!! Gary
We recently purchased Yamaha electric piano for my daughter at Naperville Music. I was very pleased with the whole buying experience. They have a room filled with regular and electric pianos that is very fun to check out. It was really nice working with Ryan, the sales rep. He actually played the pianos and explained the differences. I let him know that I preferred buying from their store since its local while also wanting a good price. They were able to offer a better deal than the chain stores, part of which included passing on the delivery to get a better discount since delivery charges were included in the price. If I have any questions and/or issues in the future, I will not hesitate to call them and Im confident they would do everything they could to help me out.
We recently purchased a Yamaha Clavinova at Naperville Music. It was a very positive an rewarding experience. When I visited the store, the staff Rich and Nate were super friendly and helpful. They were able to match the price with the one listed form a different vendor on the internet. The folks delivering the piano were timely, courteous and professional. Nate stopped by several days later to give us some insights and how to use the Clavinova effectively. We love our new piano along with the entire purchase process.I would recommend anyone who may be planning to purchase a musical instrument to check out Naperville Music as well before making a decision. They will not be disappointed, Michael
This is my first review I have left for a business in a long time. I came here to write that Johnny Barone (I left with his card) is the most refreshing person you will ever have the pleasure to deal with. I came in for a simple re-string and he actually took out his time to show me how it’s done properly. Not condescending, not bragging, simply passionate about his work and helping others. He genuinely seems like he enjoys helping others and I truly could not believe my whole day would be made from going into a music store. He taught me something I will use for the rest of my life, and that is absolutley PRICELESS. Best part is, it was all out of heart, and no other motivation. I could write an entire essay on how great I found this guy, but it would not do it justice. Again, I came in for a simple restring, and left with a different, refreshing perspective on life. The rest of the store and staff were wonderfully pleasant as well, but really Johnny (or John) is what makes Naperville Music shine. I can’t believe I am even writing this review but felt I had to get this off of my chest. I will 100% be back and will 100% recommend everyone I know to see John and the rest at Naperville Music. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
I have been a customer of Naperville Music for the past 5 years and have found them to be very professional, helpful and friendly. During this time I have purchased guitars, taken lessons and had repairs done all to my complete satisfaction.Naperville Music has a great inventory of guitars, amps, drums and other instruments but can also order items for you if you need something special. I’d rather order through them and have it delivered to their shop so that they can check it out rather have something come to my home and hope it was set up from the factory. The repairs and maintenance work performed by their Luthiers have been excellent and are usually completed in a few days. The teachers were excellent and provided me with lessons that were challenging to the point where I could learn at my own speed but not get frustrated in the process. I now play at church and use the techniques that were taught to me to this day. I also enjoyed the Rock School experience – great way to learn while having fun and network with other musicians. The sales staff is very knowledgeable and helpful – ready to assist but no pressure. I am giving Naperville Music 5 out of 5 stars for the above reasons.
My experience with Naperville Music was excellent. They were selling a guitar online, and agreed to hold it for me until I could come in to see it and buy it. It was perfectly set up, and they gave me excellent advice on care, proper strings for this instrument, etc. Very helpful. They sent me a card for a free setup after six months. Knowledgable, quality, friendly ... very good.
This is the most friendly place that I’ve ever been to. The guy in the front named Johnny really made me feel like I was at home. I’m just learning how to play guitar but instead of him trying to sell me a new guitar he helped me fix my old one. It’s nice to feel like you’re not being bamboozled when you walk into a music store. Friendly local companies. That’s what America is all about. The guy wouldn’t even take a tip at the end, He just asked that I come back.
You dont have to give up price to shop local. Great price and service at Naperville Music. I purchased a Kawai digital piano recently. Nate took the time to demo and answer any questions I had - no pressure sales tactics. We actually did the deal over the phone and the piano was delivered and setup a couple days later. You will not find this level of service at guitar center.
We had a great experience buying our piano from Nate, who was extremely knowledgeable about the different categories of Yamaha pianos but did not pressure us at all. He played beautifully to demonstrate the different features and was able to offer us a great deal as we bought the piano over Presidents Day weekend. Thanks, Nate!
We recently purchased a Yamaha Clavinova digital piano. It was a wonderful experience from start and finish. Nate Swygert listened to our needs and recommended a model that we ended buying. He took his time to explain all details and differences between digital pianos, and patiently answered a few dozen of our questions. He played a few pieces to help us see the differences and features. There was never a sales pitch or a push for a pricier instruments, just honest and common sense approach to address our needs for the piano.Piano delivery and installation was professional, friendly and clean.I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
This was my first time at Naperville Music. I called ahead on a Martin guitar I was interested in. Spoke with Chris and he had everything set up for me when I arrived. Had plenty of space to try it out and did not have 50 people around me, it was a great and seamless experience. Not only did Chris help me out on the price he was a good guy all around and had a wealth of knowledge on high end guitars. He has earned my business and I would recommend any one looking for guitar on the next level to give him a call. He also threw in a set of strings for my daughters guitar which he did not have to do but did anyway. Thanks Chris,Mike
This review is for Naperville Musics out of house repair tech Marc Babin. I have a 1978 4001 Rickenbacker bass guitar that had extensive damage to the neck and other minor damage. The good folks at Naperville Music assured me that Marc was the man to help me get it back to a playable state. This bass was really on life support, so my expectations were not real high. To my utter surprise Marc brought this guitar back to life! He not only fixed the broken neck to play correctly, but it looks amazing too. The intonation is perfect. It has been decades since this bass has played this well. I will be trusting Naperville Music & Marc with all of my guitars in the future.
Awesome experience with Naperville Music. Nate took care of everything with respect to a fairly large Christmas order, involving amps, guitars, special mics, etc. He tracked everything, got it delivered and tested at the store and got it ready for rockn roll (literally). I am contemplating a grand piano purchase in the near future and will definitely go back to Naperville Music. As far as music lessons, my kids are also enrolled at Naperville Music (guitars and drums) and they are having a blast (almost literally) and learning really fast.
WOW! What great customer service! We just bought a Yamaha Clavinova CLP-565gp from Naperville Music and shortly afterward the store informed us that there was going to be a little delay getting the piano from the supplier on the west coast. However, they really jumped through hoops to get the piano delivered to our home as fast as possible by hounding the shippers, making special arrangements with them, and keeping us updated all along the way. Nate really went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied, which is what you want to look for when making a big purchase like this. The guys that delivered and assembled it were super friendly too. I highly recommend Naperville Music to anyone in the market for a piano.
Naperville Music has always exceeded my expectations..! Because I love guitars, I stop in from time-to-time to see whats new. The staff, especially Mike is always friendly and very knowledgeable. The selection of the good stuff is always top notch and more than once, I have left with a new instrument in hand. If you are looking for a guitar, it is worth the trip....!
GREAT PLACE. I just bought my very first piano here and the staff has been very professional through the entire process. Sales rep (Nate) was awesome. At the moment I demonstrated interest he was always very helpful and NEVER pushy. It took me a long time to make the decision and Nate was always prompt to reply to my emails, to answer my questions, etc. Thank you for the great service.
Over the last several months my 14 year old son and I have been to all the Chicago area big box music stores as well as all the local independent shops that we could find. Here at Naperville Music, not only did my son find and purchase his dream guitar (he had been saving for over a year and as many will understand this was a MAJOR life decision for him), but without even being asked, he stated emphatically to me and later when we got home (more than 50 miles away and well worth the trip) to his mom, that Chris P. was the nicest, most personable and helpful music store sales person/manager he had ever met. I would add my impression that the quality of the product stocked at Naperville Music is a cut above the big box stores and the prices are the same or better. My sincere thanks to Chris for a terrific experience that my son and I will not forget.
I started coming here years ago (to rent musical equipment for my kids back when they were in orchestra at school.) Recently Ive decided to get back in to playing myself. Bought some new equipment... the staff is friendly, helpful and personable. I wouldnt consider buying from anywhere else at this point.
These guys are incredible. I brought in my guitar as it had one of the tuning keys jammed and they gave me an extra one free of charge. I also purchased a couple of high E strings from them and since I only had a Canadian debit card which was incompatible, they spotted me for next time I am in (which I am doing in 2 weeks when I am back in the area). Super friendly and knowledgeable guys here!! Highly recommended.
So I’ve lived about 35 minutes south of the shop my entire life, but never made the trek up until recently. I was looking on Reverb for a specific Gibson SG, which I was happy to find was local so I could just go get it. When I arrived I was greeted by & assisted by Connor(sp?), who was an awesome person to work with. Long story short, I bought the SG & will be doing all future purchases at Naperville Music. Better people, prices and availability than the blood sucking Guitar Center by me. Can’t recommend the place enough.-Aaron from the band ALBUS.
Their selection of high-end Gibsons etc., and their non-intrusive continued communication about receiving hard-to-find models, or special promotions, make them stand out from any local retailers, of any size.I was able to walk in/walk out with a gorgeous Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul 1958 reissue at an excellent price, after searching the area for several months for any in-person examples.Top Shelf inventory, reasonable pricing, excellent service and communication- and locally owned: great combo.
I’m not one to write an online review but they are TOP NOTCH! my sons trumpet broke the day before their year end competition and they lent us one without charge and took care of the repair for a very reasonable cost. Trumpet came back looking and sounding amazing.I will continue to work with Nate and his team!
Great store. Over the last couple of years Ive been able to find some really great deals on some guitar gear. Connor is a great help and a great guy to know. They are very fair and very helpful. I routinely stop in there because I never know what cool treasure I will come across. I actually just picked up a great used Marshall and a New Old Stock Les Paul and I couldnt be happier. Btw, they are not a Gibson dealer anymore. They have a great selection of Fender, Epiphone, Squier etc..and they still have some Gibsons on the wall. They have a nice acoustic room also. Guitars are only one part of the store. They have many other musical instruments. Big fan.
Always a great experience at Naperville Music. Ive bought both a Taylor 214ce and Washburn B9 banjo there. Both times I dealt with Chris, who I believe is their sales manager. With the Taylor, I came in looking at the 114ce based on price, while I thought he would try to get me to spend more for the 214. Instead he brought the 214 price to the same level, adding the gig bag and a strap for free, giving me an incredible deal. The with the banjo, there really was no cheaper option, and without me even attempting to negotiate he he brought the price down almost 20%, added free strange, and a low price for a gig bag that didnt otherwise come with it. Great experience, great costumer service, though not a ton of mid-to low-end options. Will return without a doubt.
I came into the store hoping they had a better selection of Gibson ES-335s than Id seen elsewhere -- I visited all the usual suspects in the area and never saw more than two 335s on display. I step into the electric room at Naperville Music and Im greeted by eight ES-335s, including at least one that came from Gibsons custom shop --- thats what Im talking about!!It is the rest of the experience that really sets Naperville Music apart from other shops, though. A very knowledgeable employee named Patrick Harding was willing to listen to my questions, understand my goals, and then provided the opinion of someone who clearly knew what he was talking about. He knew the subtle differences between the different 335s and didnt push me to settle when (despite having 8 models) I mentioned that the particular finish I wanted wasnt on display. Patrick called his Gibson rep and learned that the finish I wanted was out of production -- that essentially, I would have to find it in stock elsewhere. And he was very understanding of that, saying that he could still set me up with the right amp and pedals. I got an email from him 15 minutes later saying he talked to yet another Gibson rep and learned that they just released a limited run 50th anniversary 335 that came in the finish I wanted! The rest is history -- he helped me decide on an amplifier to make my 335 sing and even let me compare distortion pedals on Youtube using his computer. This is how the buying process for high-end ANYTHING should go -- someone who knows more than I do (but isnt pretentious) answering pointed questions and going beyond the norm to make a sale for his shop, and make a customer happy. This experience gives me faith that the win-win sales experience does exist. I just think you need to venture away from the corporate giants and into a local shop with knowledgeable, passionate staff. Pay them a visit and Im sure you wont be disappointed.
Limited variety of student and mid-line guitars. They had a few higher end models, but the set up could stand improvement. Guitar Center has more guitars and lower prices, but NM is less crowded. For higher end stuff Id recommend trying Tobias in Downers Grove, or heading up to Evanstons Guitar Works.
I had a very negative experience with this company. This involved serious product misrepresentation in an online transaction (eBay) and major problems trying to resolve the issue. I do not recommend doing business with these people. A little internet research indicated that I am not the only one that has had trouble with Naperville Music.
This is the only music store you need. We have gotten our band equipment, and instruments here as well as all of our guitars, and amps. The service and the price keep us coming back even though we drive to get there. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone shopping for music related products.Brian

2021-09-23Brought my guitar in for a nut and string install. They did that and so much more for a great price! Love how it turned out! Definitely recommend them for all of your guitar repair needs. Please note from the photos that the marks underneath the nut on the left and right side of the neck were there prior to service.

2022-04-21I have been taking lessons at Naperville Music with Andy and truly enjoy my lessons. Andy is a patient and excellent teacher. Recently I bought a new Telecastor electric guitar from Naperville Music. I had been in the shop over half dozen times trying out different models. Johnny was extremely helpful in helping explain my various options. Very happy with my purchase, guitar lessons and service rendered at Naperville Music. 5 star ⭐️ experience.

2022-02-01NM is a fantastic place. You can spend hours there with the selection of Guitars they have, the amazing organized piano room, and the plenty of services they offer. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable, and they also know a thing or two about music. I Currently live in Central Illinois and I drive 3 hours to get my guitars setup and restrung, as I trust them this much.

2022-04-16I showed up 5 minutes before they closed and they treated me the way a customer should be treated. I got a Yamaha P515 on sale for a very good price. They know their products and made sure I knew how to use it before I left. Very nice staff and they were very good at helping me decide which piano was right for me. Very happy with my purchase and experience there.

2022-04-20Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. We upgraded my 17 year old from his middle school Bach trumpet to a Yamaha Xeno. The sales person at Naperville Music (a newly minted music teacher and trumpet player herself) was incredibly helpful. We were allowed to try out multiple trumpets without any sales pressure. Naperville Music has also been great when we have needed the inevitable repairs. They remain our go to spot for trumpet needs (and for my up and coming clarinet/sax player as well).

2022-06-30Everyone at Naperville Guitar was outgoing and were happy to have me in the store. I was also able to get a great deal on a Rickenbacker 4003, and have been very satisfied with the bass since purchasing it. I will definitely be coming back in the future.

2022-02-18I chose Naperville Music to help me to sell a guitar I owned on consignment. They were very professional, and concern with the value and care of my instrument while it was being sold. My guitar sold promptly with no problems. I highly recommend using Naperville Music in selling instruments in consignment.

2022-05-16Great team here at Naperville Music! Everyone here is knowledgeable and super friendly. Instrument rental is offered here which has been great for my 7th grader who is in orchestra. Quick to respond to emails and my son loved the lessons he received from Naperville Music. 5 stars!

2021-10-04Naperville Music is amazing!! My son has been taking saxophone lessons there from an excellent teacher for about four months now, and it is always a treat to enter into this store each week and experience its friendly, kind and knowledgeable staff! So when I was looking to purchase a keyboard piano for my daughter, I didnt need to think twice about where I would buy it! Nate was so helpful - he played various selections for me, patiently explained the digital technology, and was careful that I would find a quality instrument within my price range. The entire transaction was seamless, the piano was delivered earlier than expected, and the gentlemen who delivered and set up the piano were top-notch, as well! Be sure to make a visit to Naperville Music soon!

2022-04-051st visit here in several years. Got a friendly greeting from Johnny and learned about their new consignment room. What a beautiful room and a great idea! I plan to take advantage of their program to thin my collection. And who knows....I may find another guitar that needs to go home with me.A very welcoming shop. Stop in and see for yourself. Ask for Johnny. Youll enjoy your visit.
