Milano is the only bakery I get my cakes plus all my sweets for my house old fashion cheese danishes to die for best buns in town

Small family owned business has been around a long time my husband is from joliet originally he has so many memories about this place every time we visit its a must stop place for us. Delicious pastries and coffee opens very early. Large parking spot as well
Its a fine store. Havnt been in there to many times. What they have? I probley a buy.The chocolate cream donut tasted good. With the milk i ordered. Played for, the glaze donuts was swell. With the cup of coffee. I thought the coffee lid a be light, There was a fitting one. Great deal in money, the place had.
This is the best bakery around! Awesome treats and breads and great fun people. The #1 item is a lemon swimming pool!
I love this bakery. I ordered and picked up 35 mini desert cakes with a raspberry mousse rose on top. They are so beautiful and delicious. They will be perfect for a bridal shower I’m hosting. I ordered by email and someone responded quickly and efficiently got my order place and completed on time. I will definitely use this again. Thanks Milano bakery!
I ordered the Atomic cake with whipped frosting and it was absolutely delicious! I have also had the atomic cake from Milanos with buttercream frosting which was good too. If you can get whipped frosting depending on if your cake can be refrigerated, do it! Also, if you have not tried atomic cake you are missing out! It is 3 layers of Chocolate, vanilla and banana cake. In between one layer is strawberries and in between the other layer is a banana cream type filling.
Forgot to take a picture but was able to purchase our favorites including 2 dozen dinner rolls, an 18 loaf of bread and a package of 4 french rolls all softer than soft! Im so glad we have an amazing family owned business like Milano in Joliet!!
Great Customer Service We went to pick up my order for a Baptism and they did not have my order. The Baker was there on her own time picking something up and jumped in and decorated the cupcakes. She was very accommodating while we waited. The cupcakes were beautiful and delicious. Thanks Milano Bakery for your great employees and great cupcakes!
I love this place. They are always playing a Disney or family friendly movie on the TV. The bread is amazing and tasty. I had a cream cheese Danish and it was so flaky and perfectly sweet from the glaze and tart from the cream cheese. I have tried the almond crescents and biscoti both perfectly baked and delicious. They have a deal everyday so you have to come in and get your awesome bread and a deal while your at it. They have a veterans discount so a huge plus with me. They have coffee as well and assorted drinks. You can order cakes here for special occasions. Lastly the people here are amazing and nice, super friendly and will help you with whatever you need. I have some issues with people and anxiety so having the patient and friendly people tell you its ok and to take my time means alot and removes alot of the anxiety. I hope this place stays open for as long as possible.

Yellow Fresh strawberry filling double layer black panther cake. I called them an hour before I needed the cake which was 2 hours before they were due to close and the owner has the girls help me quick they were able to accommodate me last minute after jewel called me day of and said they didn’t have my topping. Glad I found milanos. The cake was so well made and the photo was a great print out of black panther and they really made my vision come to life!!! I appreciate the last minute help as well my son birthday was complete with this cake. And it was sooooo delicious. I love the freshness of the yellow cake and the fresh strawberry filling!!! From now on every cake I need I will be ordering it from here!!! Thanks Milanos!!!
Milano Bakery did a fantastic job with our wedding cake. This might sound biased - but it was honestly the best wedding cake Ive ever had! They were by far the most affordably priced vendor we found and we did not lose quality by saving. We had the lemon cake with raspberry mousse filling - the cake was moist and the frosting just the right amount of sweetness. 10/10
For being a first timer, it was amazing! My son just turned one a week ago and the cake was amazing, everyone loved it!! The decorations and everything was so delightful 🤩 oh and can’t forget about their cappuccinos 😋 they’re so unique and delicious, best believe I’ll be back for some more cake 😍😋
I recently got paczkis they were absolutely delicious. I called ahead of time to make sure they had them and the girl I talked to was extremely polite and friendly. I most definitely will try them for further purchases.
My cake was beautiful. We picked out a beach seen and had them use a bride/groom turtles as our topper. They were placed nicely on the top of the cake and looked so cute. The price was reasonable also.
I had an unfortunate experience with Milano’s Bakery for my wedding. At the wedding reception, they delivered a completely different cake from what we ordered. Needless to say, it was a huge disappointment. A few days afterwards, I called the bakery and explained what happened. Without apologizing, they offered us a gift card and asked why we didn’t return the cake. I told them that we served the cake being that we didn’t notice this mix-up until it was time to cut and serve it. I was finally able to convince them to reimburse us for a portion of the money that we paid for it. They wrote us a letter stating reasons as to why they made this mistake which were turned around as the customer’s fault! They also said that Milano’s is losing money because of this. I wanted the owner to know how I was treated so I wrote Darren Debenedetti a letter and never received a response. I was told that he only speaks with customers for health/safety issues. I always enjoyed Milano’s cakes and desserts but I found a different bakery that is wonderful and has excellent customer service! It’s not so much about the mistake itself but more about how it is handled...in this case of how it wasn’t handled.

We had a cake emergency. The one we had tried to make fell apart at 1:30 am. At 6:30 am I hunted for a bakery and found this one. In 1 1/2 hours they created a birthday cake for us that was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Beautiful AND delicious! THANK YOU SO MUCH for rescuing my granddaughters birthday!

The staff that I worked with didnt communicate as well as I had originally thought. I made a down payment and when I went back to finish paying is when I was first made aware that communication was a issue here but it was two days before even so I couldnt do anything about it. DAY OF MY DAUGHTERS EVENT.... I see the cake was wrong and I was supposed to get the extra since they cut a shape and I didnt get the corners. I have been trying to talk to the owner for days now and he isnt getting back to me. When I called to complain about it they told me they told me thats how the cake would be and its wasnt. There were plenty of other bakerys that were able to do what I was looking for but chose here because they work with the company I catered through and now wish I didnt. THIS WAS MY DAUGHTERS BAPTISM AND THE CAKE WAS INCORRECT AND THE OWNER WONT RETURN MY CALLS?! Ridiculous!!!
Ive lived near Milano bakery since I was 12 years old. My parents, my husband and I love their baked goods and their coffee ☕. As long as they are here in Joliet, IL Ill be a customer.

2022-07-17We got our wedding cake through Milano Bakery and had a great experience! We ordered a two-tier cut cake and sheet cake to serve our guests- and got several compliments on the cake throughout the evening and after our event. The cake looked like the inspiration picture we gave them, it was delivered on time, tasted great, and was reasonably priced as compared to other vendors we considered! I would recommend going in person or communicating over the phone to coordinate things, it seemed to be easier and quicker than communicating via their email. Overall, nothing but good things to say!

2022-01-15My hubby always buys me a cannoli cake for my birthday from Ferrara on Taylor St. We recently moved to Channahon and Ive been hearing rave reviews about Milano bakery. Ive been wanting to try them out, but hadnt had the chance. Yesterday, my hubby ordered a cannoli cake from Milanos Bakery, and although it was last minute, the cake was beautiful and delicious. The cake was light and the cream was not too sweet. I loved that, even the next day, the chocolate chips in the cannoli cream for crunchy.

2022-02-25Cake looked WAY better than the picture I sent for reference, was bigger than expected, and costed less than I was originally quoted. Staff was super friendly. Like for real. I kind of hung out chatting with them. Bought some extra pastries and OMG so good. Im so going back. 💪🎂🥐🍥🍩💜

2021-02-24I’ve never been disappointed by anything from Milano Bakery. They make delicious treats that look beautiful and well-decorated every time. My favorite items from them are their atomic cakes (chocolate, banana, and strawberry) and their fresh strawberry paczki around Fat Tuesday. A true hidden gem of Joliet!

2020-12-30We ordered the most excellent rainbow tye dye cake for my daughters 16th birthday! It was beautiful! The quality of the cake and buttercream frosting were hands down the best weve ever had! Way to keep my daughter smiling ear to ear on her milestone birthday! Great job!

2021-10-15Milano made my wedding cake for my wedding in September. The cake tasted delicious and the design was exactly what I asked for, except for one thing… They forgot to put my cake topper on the cake. When we tried to call them not five minutes after they delivered the cake to the venue, no one answered the phones. We left a voice message and I expected them to return my call on Monday and apologize but we never heard from them. Later that week, we did call to have the situation rectified and asked them to ship us the cake topper. They ended up compensating us generously for their mistake but I’m still pretty bummed about the whole thing. The week before the wedding, I called to confirm everything with them and they insisted that I drop off the cake topper beforehand. I drove from my apartment on the northwest side of Chicago to Joliet, a good hour and a half drive each way, to drop it off. It was a very unique, handmade cake topper that I ordered months in advance so needless to say I was excited to use it.

2021-08-13We hired Milano to do our wedding cake. The cake is amazing, we did not need to try cake anywhere else. All of our friends and family loved it and kept asking where it was from. Their pricing is also fantastic. We had a small 3 tiered cake and a large sheet cake. We were able to have 4 different flavors. I would give them 5 stars if not for the lack of communication and design error. I had to email them 3x and call 2x before I was able to review with them my order prior to the wedding. My cake was not designed/frosted the way I had picked out. I picked out a very simple frosted design from their design book, but each tier had a different design. It was very traditional scroll/ornate designs. While it was pretty and honestly alot more work than what I asked for, it was just not my style and did not go with my theme. I am not sure how/why that happened. I had also requested the tiered cake be placed on a 12 inch cake board so it would fit on my cake stand. I was told they could do this no problem. The cake was placed on a 14 inch board and so it hung over on my stand. Luckily my cake stand was the same gold color as the board so it was not super noticeable. All in all, I would recommend Milano for cakes no matter the occasion. I cant wait to get our 1 year anniversary cake from them that comes with the wedding cake order!
